Happy to share this weeks DUNE painting I just finished!
Based on last weeks most popular voting; Here is Stilgar, the religious Fremen leader from the South.
I liked the idea of giving him prayer beads, and surround him with an ethereal atmosphere, avoiding gold tones as much as possible.
I was heavily inspired by Baroque religious iconography & artist Ludwig Deutsch with the creation of this piece. He traveled to MENA countries to depict the various cultures and tribes in his art; One of my biggest inspirations.
Three more DUNE characters to go! Which one should I paint next?
I cannot believe that this is only 5 points of guys... I'm not sure how I'm going to survive this. I'm not sure how anyone fields full sized battalions of these guys either!
The command elements, including kommissar
Flames of War definitely leans on Hollywoodisms and vibe with their rules, which can get a little annoying and dehumanizing, but the appeal of little guys in more traditional back and forth wargames is alluring and nostalgic to me
Has anyone here had any experience with Battlegroup? I've heard it's a good alternative that's more crunchy
nd here is the final painting for my Avatar: The Last Airbender series! Avatar Aang himself, master of the Four Elements and savior of the world.
The cartoon was significant for me when I was growing up. Now that the live action is releasing tommorow, after 20 years since the original I felt that its the time to create my tribute.
This was the first one of the three (Katara, Sokka) that I made, and the piece I spent the least amount of time on. I also had plans for more characters but time constraints wont allow me to work on them just yet! Perhaps in the future.
Hey don't mind me but I playtested a really fun game at a local board game convention a little while back and I just found out they finally launched their kickstarter and I'd like to shill for it a little because its mad fun and I backed the kickstarter and I want it to succeed so I'll actually get the game lol.
Its basically a quick-and-light timed cooperative game for up to 4 people thats emulating a movie car chase. Its got a bunch of different "scenarios" for different movies/genres, but the basic premise is each player is in a different seat in the car (driver, shotgun, back-left, back-right) and you have a bunch of items and weapons and a limited amount of time to decide among all the players how and where to use those items, and in what order each round, to beat the Bad Guys(TM) that are chasing you.
Tumblr isn't letting me embed the Kickstarter link but it'll let me hyperlink it lmao
Here’s a series of board games I’ve made recently.
Astro Asterid’s Quick Shuttle Repair
Derelict ships in space need to be fixed quickly, so they call on Astro Asterid to repair them! Carry resources through the halls of various ships to repair systems that have crashed. The more resources you carry, the slower you move, and the more likely more systems will go offline! Move quickly but strategically to repair all the systems before time runs out!
Treasure by Torchlight
A single player dungeon crawling role playing game featuring cute little mammal characters in a fantasy setting. Journey through dungeons collecting treasure and defeating monsters to level up your character so you can take on the final boss! But be careful, with every step you take your torchlight grows dimmer. Keep that torch lit as you explore randomly generated dungeons!
Treasure by Torchlight: Bite Size
This is a mint-tin version of the same game. This “bite size” version contains everything the full size game does. An enormous game in a tiny package!
Noah’s Ark
A very simple mint-tin game for young players. Move down the landscape collecting animals and bringing them one by one back to the ark. But hurry up! The flood waters are rising! Count up points at the end of the game and see if you got a high score!
The Longest Week
In the middle of a zombie apocalypse you manage to find shelter and call for help. However, help won’t arrive for 7 days. During the day scavenge for weapons, farm for food, or gather resources to strengthen your gate because when night falls the zombie horde attacks! As the days progress the horde outside grows larger and stronger. Can you survive the week and be rescued?
All of these games can be found with more information and prices on my storefront on The Game Crafter website here!
