Merry Whumpmas || Day 24; Snowed In

It was hard to keep each other warm, when one of you was the embodiment of winter. Caretaker mused that perhaps, cuddling up to Whumpee was just going to make the situation worse.

But Whumpee was so drained, even he couldn't resist Winters cruel chill.... so Caretaker continued to hold onto them, even as the cold took him too.

This was going to be cute, like, snuggling by the fireplace cute! But it sorta just... derailed.

Whoops.

It was also meant to be a gift for my good friend, @lindzem but it came out just super angsty, sorry x-x

Daily Fic Highlight: Warmer Than I Thought

Today's winner of the kudos email is:

"Warmer Than I Thought" is a slight Pitch/Jack ficlet that I wrote for Round 1 of the Rise of the Guardians Dreamwidith Kinkmeme. Movie events are slightly altered, and Jack is dying after taking the Guardian oath because he has no believers. Pitch is with him at the end. 805 words, G, M/M, Major Character Death.

I love, LOVE, LOVE getting kudos on this fic specifically because it is meant to be sad. Every time I get a kudos it's like I'm pointing excitedly at the person that left them while also crying.

“…of course they knew. And of course they wouldn’t tell you. Who would want someone like Jack Frost, that destructive pest, around for good? Here to deliver on the Blackice Hades/Persephone AU. It’s not exactly greek mythos, though - here, Pitch is considered a ‘god’ alongside North and the other Guardians, a cosmic lord of creation and existence. His domain includes all that is typically related to the ‘unknown,’ such as darkness, fear, and death. Jack is a cosmic being himself - a prince of the constellations, and their most prized one at that. After Pitch steals Jack away for himself, the constellations and other gods must strike a bargain with him, splitting Jack’s time between the starry skies and Pitch’s dark domain. Jack, however, begins to find a fondness for Pitch, despite the other stars warning him against it.
