Here’s how it’s going to work: each character is going to get their own part following the intro. It is going to focus on the Octrio again (bc it’s my current liking, sorry guys). If you want to read a certain character’s part, feel free to jump around and select the one you’re most interested in. 

Again, as stated before, this is a work of fiction; I disagree with any and all behaviors that are represented in this story.

Memories of childhood that often replay in one’s mind had pros and cons; the pros being that of a fond memory, a happy memory filled with joy, wonder, and excitement… the cons being that of a horrible memory, a dark memory filled with anger, hate, and disgust.

One of these memories was often one from when you were approximately six or seven; you had been at the tide pools on the far side of the beaches and away from the cabin by the sea. Your friends had left for the day, promising to come and play with you tomorrow morning - allowing yourself a bit of breathing space as you watched the little creatures that lived in the tide pools. Small crabs scuttled from one small pool to the other while starfish rested along with the barnacles and sea urchins against the multicolored stones and shells that lined within the pools. You would reach out and stroke the creatures - mainly out of curiosity, but also because you didn’t want them to think you were going to hurt them. 

As wonderful as it was - as adorable as it was - a shadow always surrounded it.

Five children - maybe two or three years older than you - would often come to the shoreline, not to play, but to torment the little creatures that lived in the tide pools - the same ones you often played at. They would laugh and tease you, calling you a bilge rat or a strumpet, sometimes throwing small pebbles at you or kicking sand into your eyes. Then, they would snatch the little crabs and starfish out of their pools, dangling the poor creatures around as they slowly dried out - other times flinging the defensive animals out into the open waters, teasing that they were feeding their ‘beloved shark’ that lived in the open waters. You would cry and beg for them to leave them alone - wishing harder and harder each day for them to leave you and the little creatures in the tide pools alone. 

And as the memory fades into the background, you could’ve sworn you saw your tormentor’s faces shift from glee to fright in a matter of seconds… and tentacles black as ebony appeared in the corner of your vision.

The memory, regardless if it was real or an illusion conjured by a dream, often played in the background of your mind following your boyfriend’s betrayal - the unwanted trigger that made it replay over and over again like a bad film you had seen countless times; and it was because of that unwanted trigger that your body floated down into the waters of the sea, pulling you into a much larger version of your little tide pools.

Rocks and sand dusted the bottom of the crashing waves while large patches of seagrass waved at you with the tide, the water murky and hard to distinguish anything beyond the length of your arm. Sand and pebbles floated around you as each push from your legs forced the water to kick up more sand and pebbles along with the occasional crushed or abandoned seashell floating in the murky depths. 

Opaleyes and Clingfish swam among the reeds and seagrasses, darting to and from as your shadow passed over them, while the heads of monkeyface eels peered out from between rocks that scattered here and there on the ocean floor. Crabs and shrimp of different colors and sizes scuttled to and from along those rocks, their eyes shifting about as if waiting and watching for something while the occasional little octopus floated from stone to stone - one coming up to latch to your hand as it's little suckers poked at your skin before swimming away. Starfish lounged on the rocks where barnacles grew and sea urchins rolled slowly across the sandy floors.

It was beautiful in its own way - calm and comforting.

However, there seemed to be a lingering fear that surrounded the area - a sense that something much more dangerous than any sea creature that lurked in the depths of the ocean was around. You would often look over your shoulder before ascending to the surface, intaking a big gulp of air before diving back downward - unknown to you that you were being followed and watched. Had you looked over your shoulder twice before each ascent, you may have seen several large appendages floating in the water as well as a set of sea blue eyes watching you from the tall seagrass beneath you - following close behind you and waiting to make their move.

As you took another plunge, you decided to use this time to look for a seashell as the ocean had lulled you to a state of calmness before returning to the surface - perhaps you could find a nice one to give to your coworker who had been so supportive of you during your time of need over the past month and a half. You drew close to the sea grass, your hands curling into the grass as your fingers traced the sand, searching for a seashell that would be a perfect gift. 

You had often collected them as a child and given them to your friends - they were relatively easy to find, often washing up on the shore as many were remains from a seagull’s supper. Remains of clams, cowries, and scallops often were found and strung on string, creating bracelets that were sold in souvenir shops along with conch shells, lightning whelks, and shells of shark eyes. However, one the most prominent shells that you had harbored in your possession had been a nautilus shell - silver-white in color and was about the size of a half-dollar coin. They were rare to come by - especially on the shorelines where the Nautilidae, the creature who lived within these shells, were out in deeper waters; the shell had been a gift from one of your friends, saying that it was a good luck charm. You always kept the shell close, strung on a braided string that clung to your wrist and went everywhere you went - the shell a reminder that not everyone was as they seemed. However - the bracelet had disappeared many years ago before you left for college, a heavy tide snatching it from your wrist never to be seen again.

Perhaps you would find it again as you explored another part of the sea grass - searching for the perfect shell for your co worker. As you searched in another area, your legs kicked a little too close to the seagrass as a strand wrapped around your ankle.

You kicked your leg again to remove said strand but the strand held on tighter and… became thicker?

You looked toward your leg and saw an obscenely large tentacle wrapped around you and slowly traveling up your leg. It was pitch black in the murky depths with an underbelly lavender-gray in color - multiple suckers nearly the color of lilac kissed your skin, leaving pale red circular marks along your foot, ankle, and calf. You pulled at your leg, but another tentacle appeared, wrapping around your other leg as two more gripped at your waist. You jerked and struggled before a soft voice spoke.

"Stop fighting me, angelfish…"

Your head snapped up, feeling your lips part as your eyes met pale sea blues and horizontal pupils.

Before you, entangled within seagrass and seaweed, was an octomer.

Octomers were typically shy merfolk that preferred the shelter of large caves - or grottos - much like how their octopus counterparts were, hiding in the dark crevices as they watched and waited for prey to come by and avoiding interaction with other sea creatures. The reasoning behind this was rumors and speculation of them being casted out by the merfolk due to their heritage and greediness - possessive to the point of suffocation - and were believed to be vain about their appearances; many of them were rumored to host beautifully colored tentacles in oranges, blues, yellows, reds, and purples. Some were also in shades of pale grays and browns and often used camouflage to help blend into their surroundings. Legends of octomers were also rare and the only one you had been told about was one who granted wishes - living in the darkest part of the sea off the coast of your little oceanic village and would come to the shorelines to make deals on behalf of the sea itself. 

As much as octomers were fascinating as they were an oddity and rarity in legends and among merfolk, they were also quite deadly. It was no secret that many octopi were poisonous - with enough venom to potentially kill a man within minutes if not treated like the blue-ringed octopi that lived in the tide pools and coral reefs. Legend stated that some octomers also hosted this venom - holding the venom in sacks that were hidden within their mouths instead of the beak that hid under their tentacles, though no one knew for sure. They may be solitary creatures, but that did not mean they would back down when placed with a problem before them as they were also intelligent beyond a doubt - having the existence of nine brains at their disposal.

And the one before you seemed to know exactly what it wanted.

The octomer before you was absolutely stunning - silvery skin with a kiss of pale lavender covered his facial features, chest and hands while his neck, sides, arms, and hips were painted black with little scales of deep dove gray littered the parts of his shoulders and tentacles. Eyes of pale sea blue glowed in the murky depths as silvery hair sparkled like starlight under the sun’s rays that cut through the shifting water. Strong cheekbones defined his face, a strong nose and thin jaw made him appear all-knowing; thin lips pressed together, a little black mole perched beneath - a little beauty mark that would be the envy of many. The gills on his sides fluttered in anticipation before his eyes flashed, brow furrowing as two more of his tentacles snapped upward - one wrapping around your waist and the other pressing over your eyes.

“Don’t look at me!” the octomer hissed, his voice softening, “Please… don’t look at me, angelfish… I can’t bare for you to see me like this…”

You were struggling against him now - unsure of what the octomer wanted from you and why he was now so entangled by you. Surely, you had never met before… right?

So, why did that nickname sound so familiar?

You felt the octomer shudder against you as you struggled, his grip tightening onto your form, “Angelfish… why do you keep fighting me? Did you… forget me?”

You wanted to say that you had no idea what he was talking about, nor did you know who he was - maybe he was confused and mistaken you for someone else. However, you really couldn’t at the risk of losing the air in your lungs that you were desperate to hang onto. 

“You couldn’t have… you promised you wouldn’t!” The octomer was now becoming desperate - though you couldn’t see it, you were certain tears had started to form in his eyes as you felt his hands grip your arms, leaving bruises as his grip tightened, bringing you close to his face as he practically screamed, “You promised! You promised you would never leave me behind! And yet… you did.”

His voice became sour then, practically murmuring, “... I suppose I should do something about that, to keep you with me until your last breath…”

You felt something dig into your neck - something sharp and painful as bubbles broke passed your lips in a scream as a fire erupted under your skin - your body suddenly locking up and forcing you to remain still before something was pressed to your lips.

“Be a good friend and test this little concoction out for me,” you heard the octomer whisper against the shell of your ear, “This… will help with that problem of yours.”

As soon as the liquid hit your tongue, you wanted to regurgitate - push it out and back into the bottle that was pressed into your mouth. Lips and fingers pressed against your neck, stroking and kissing as the unknown liquid eventually made its way down your throat, making you gasp as something rattled within your core. A sharp nose ran along your neck, skin suddenly thinning and lifting like fish gills as lips pressed against them - one on each side.

“Ah… how beautiful, angelfish,” the octomer whispered against your ear again as a shiver ran along your spine, “They turned out marvelously - just as I expected… perfect for my wonderful, sweet angelfish…”

You tried struggling against him again, but your body was still trapped by the bite and by his tentacles. You whimpered softly in fear as the octomer continued to kiss your neck, his teeth scraping the edges.

“Don’t be afraid, angelfish… you know I would never hurt you. The venom will wear off and you’ll be a free fish again - but I do intend to keep you close, after all…” you felt his breath tickle the hair on your nape as bubbles caressed your skin, “...I would never hurt the person who accepted my love at first, nor accepted my wedding gift…”

You felt something small and familiar wrap around your wrist - the familiar shape of the nautilus shell bracelet that had once been in your possession now returned to its rightful place on your wrist. A gasp sounded from you as lips pressed against yours before you felt the tickling sensation of seagrass surround you.

The octomer had pulled you close, his arms coming around to hold you close to him as his lips danced across your still eye-covered features, pulling you into the seagrass to keep you hidden from the rest of the aquatic life that existed around you. Tentacles trailed around you, moving and shifting as the little suckers that ranged from the size of small pebbles to large stones kissed your skin, marking you with bruises and as the octomer’s possession. Your body could not fight the venom that was still coursing through you, keeping you still as the mer worked you over, lips trailing from your face to your neck and to the top of you chest as hands and tentacles curled at the offensive clothing that kept the two of you separated.

He tore at the buttoned shirt you had slept in the night before, the fabric floating around you as the buttons sank to the bottom - his face burying itself in your chest and his hands trailed lower, pulling at the ties of your cotton shorts and ripping them apart as well in a desperate longing to have you bare beneath him. Bubbles containing sighs and gasps left your lips, but your new gills provided by the octomer breathed in for you, fluttering with excitement at each touch and kiss that was pressed against your skin.  

There was no preparation as something long and thin slipped into your folds between your legs, nothing prepared you for the heaviness that curled into your belly as multiple suckers kissed your entrance - bringing your body to life and weeping for the creature that had overpowered you. The tentacle that was wrapped around your eyes slowly released you, curling behind you to cushion you against the sandy bottom and the octomer’s hands rested on either side of you - his tentacles pulling and prodding at you, kissing your skin as his eyes glowed brighter as he took in your contorted features with every gasp and cry as his hectocotylus made its home within your body. He pressed his forehead against yours, moaning softly against you as you met each of his thrusts with your hips, gasping aloud.

“Oh… angelfish… look at you,” he moaned softly, a tentacle slipping between you to curl and press against your stomach, making you gasp, “Look at you with my marks… ah ha - I’ll have to do this every day… keep you covered with my markings… signs that you have been taken by me, and no one else…”

You whimper in want, the fire raging in your body pushing you closer and closer.

The octomer leans forward, kissing your ear and nibbling on the lobe softly as he whispers, “You… you remember don’t you? Our little promise… our little secret… Tell me… say my name, angelfish. Tell me my name… the one you gave me… what color are my eyes, angelfish?”

The words echoed in your haze-filled mind.

What color are my eyes?

What color are my eyes…

What color…

“Azul…” you whimper as his tentacles curl within your body, forcing your hips to snap forward and arching your back against the sand - creating a little cloud of debris.

“Yes, (Y/n)...” Azul whispers, lips digging into your skin, “Yes… my angelfish…”

Azul watched as he held you close - keeping you embraced in his octopot as he guarded you from the dangers outside, his tentacles still tracing over your body that was now plush with his eggs. You had fainted during the last round and although he still had more to give you, frightening him for a moment but quickly realizing you needed rest before you could take any more. He would hold onto the remaining eggs until you awoke - then he would take you again until every last egg was safe within you. Once that was complete, he would take you back to his cave - keep you hidden within a special room until the time came for the eggs to hatch.

It was hard to believe he had found you again after so long - a nearly forgotten promise reminding him of how much you meant to him.

He remembered the little girl on the shoreline, crying out as a group of boys tormented the little creatures within the tidepools, begging for them to stop. At first, he - the little octo-twerp - did not understand why you were crying, why you were so adamant about protecting creatures that were weaker than you. As he continued to watch you from his hiding spot with each passing day - and how you played with the Leech twins of all people - Azul slowly realized that you were a part of the sea, someone that was born human but had merfolk qualities. He admired your strength and cried at your weakness, wanting nothing to go to you and comfort you - he knew you better than you knew yourself, after all. It took courage on his end, but he approached you - nervous about his appearance. 

At first, you were startled by his approach - most anyone would have been.

But, then, you smiled and asked if he knew Jade and Floyd - and thus the friendship between the four of you began. You all would play near the water, letting the waves crash over you and revealing their true forms to your eyes only - laughing as they splashed you and pulled you into the sounding waves. You would lounge in content by the tidepools, watching the little creatures as they lurked under the water and continued their daily lives. It was years later that Azul presented you the nautilus shell bracelet that would be your promise to him for a life together - just the two of you.

Then, you disappeared.

Jade and Floyd, who now worked with Azul as his eyes and ears in their part of the waters, indicated that your family had moved closer to inland - there was no way for the tides to reach you, nor for you to reach them. Azul had slumped for years, continuing his research and deciding to try to formulate a potion that would allow him to seek you out.

However, that was cut off when his mating urges began. All he could do was swim to shallow warmer waters, his thoughts only of you as he writhed in want and pain, so desperate to feel you beneath him - to hold him and never let him go. 

It was lucky that you had swam out to open waters and had alerted him of your presence, a welcoming sight for the octomer who thought he had lost his whole world six years ago.

His gaze flicked from the entrance of the octopot to your form resting in his arms and tentacles - bubbles appearing as you inhaled and exhaled against him. Azul smiled and nuzzled the crown of your head with his cheek, content to have you by his side again.

“Sweet angelfish… stay with me, my darling… stay and be mine…”

There is nothing wrong with being mindful of your own personal safety.

We all have a right to feel uncomfortable, and to act accordingly. It’s okay to cross the road to avoid others, I do this myself.

So too we should all be mindful of how we can make others feel safer when walking home at night – this is just basic common decency.

But what isn’t okay; is to fear monger, vilify and create a cultural panic around ‘men’ as a group.

To talk about men as if they’re monsters forever lurking the shadows; comparing experiences with men to walking through a room of snakes, or swimming in a shark tank, and yes, eating from a bowl of poisoned M&Ms.

This is not advocacy. This is ignorance, and hate.

Neither do such thought experiments help women ‘feel safe’ either. In fact, such terrifying analogies will likely make them feel the opposite.

Neither do you get to tell men (who are at a significantly higher risk), that they can walk the streets at whatever time they like, without fear or consequence – under the protective shield of so called ‘male privilege’.

Walking home at night is not an opportunity for you to inject your bigoted political ideas around men, or stoke fear and division.

I am tired of it.

I am tired of seeing the conversation of violent crime centred on highly privileged millionaire celebrity women, who are not at risk, and taken away from those who are – which is young, inner city, working class black boys.

I am tired of the conversation making no effort to understand what shapes violent crime, or how to reduce it, to instead fan the flames of a gender war.

I am tired of seeing tragic stories hijacked for political ends, to become yet another bludgeon to hit ‘yes all men’ with.

It is boring. It is divisive. And most of all, it doesn’t achieve anything.

So let’s look at the numbers, for a more reasonable and evidence based insight into violent crime.

Xians will thank their god for everything good in their lives, but are pathologically incapable of blaming it for the bad things that happen. It's either "free will" or "Satan" or some other excuse. This is hypocritical.

If you blame men as a category for violent crime, then you can also give credit to men as a category for the decline of violent crime over the years. To not do so would also be hypocritical.

Or you just blame the extreme minority who are actually responsible.

And if you're still like, nope, changes nothing, then okay. But just do one thing for me. Type: "I'm justified crossing the road when I encounter..." Then go look up violent crime by race, pro rata it, and see how you feel about finishing that sentence. I dare you. If one would make you feel racist about making assumptions about and blaming all members of one group, then the other should also make you feel sexist about making assumptions about and blaming all members of another group.

In fact, such terrifying analogies will likely make them feel the opposite.

This is, of course, a feature not a bug. Women's fear is a valuable political and ideological commodity.

Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion

As we all know, 2020 is most notable for being the year in which I watched Hideaki Anno's 1996 television series Neon Genesis Evangelion. It is now time for the most important and definitive takeaway from the series.

Yes, at last, the official ranking of the Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion based on how aesthetically delightful I find them.

NUMBER 1 SACHIEL

The first, the best, the cutest, the standard of pure delight to which no others could reach. Sachiel's comfortingly bipedal with grabby looking fingers that are not unreasonably long and that like to hold the Dick and Jane red bouncing ball close to its chest. It has a little face with a plague mask vibe to it that also looks like it belongs in a Hieronymus Bosch painting. Later, Sachiel turns out to have TWO adorable little faces which enhances the feeling of a nest of little barn owls peering at you from the dark comfort of a giant mechanical alien monster torso.

PROS: Adorable little face, times two! CONS: Self-destructs and does a lot of damage to civic infrastructure and humanity, I guess.

NUMBER 2 GAGHIEL

How can you not love Gaghiel? It's an underwater buddy that looks like someone smashed a manta ray into a plesiosaur and borrowed the mouth design of a cartoon Venus flytrap. Like a lot of oceanic creatures, you know it's not nearly as cute as its big toothy smile would lead you to believe but it looks so happy and frolicsome that you permit aesthetics to overwrite common sense. Just leave Gaghiel in the ocean having fun and fighting sharks or whatever Gaghiel wants to do. There's a lot of ocean and there's definitely room for Gaghiel!

PROS: Mouth can fit so many hotdogs! CONS: Did eat those two entire submarines like they were hotdogs.

NUMBER 3 MATARAEL

Matarel's a sneaky little black UFO covered in illuminati eyes with comically long spider legs that go high above its funny little eye-spangled head/body. There's something incredibly charming about a big supposed to be scary thing with great long legs that look like they have the thickness of spaghetti. You find yourself asking "Buddy, how can you skip leg day when you have so many legs?" but also finding that disregard for bodily care endearing.

PROS: Reminds me of an eyeball spider from space in an old episode of Johnny Quest. Love thinking about the non-racist parts of Johnny Quest! CONS: Matarel does ooze orange acid from its true eye. That's not something I love seeing or thinking about.

NUMBER 4 LELIEL

Leliel! Get a feeling so complicated about Leliel! Leliel is a delightful sphere of black and white geometric patterns evoking Escher drawings. You could put Leliel on display in a classy home, maybe as a centrepiece in your beautiful dining room table and it wouldn't look out of place aside from it being a towering giant alien thing that would crush you and your table and your house and your neighbourhood. Leliel is the black-tie evening wear of Angels. Unfortunately, classy giant alien monster isn't as delightful as adorable giant alien monster. Also, it turns out Leliel is actually the shadow cast by the tasteful Escherphere, not the Escherphere itself. Be your true self next time, Leliel!

PROS: Goes with everything. CONS: A poseur.

NUMBER 5 SAHAQUIEL

Sahaquiel is the most '90s of the Angels. Sahaquiel looks like a toy advertised on Saturday morning television to compete with bop-it and the latest attempts to get devil sticks and hula hoops to catch on with a new, impressionable, plastic-garbage loving age group. It's orange with a giant eye and is all long and flat with hands that look like those sticky grabby hands you'd get out of a capsule toy machine in the grocery store and then lose behind the couch by the end of the day. Sahaquiel isn't cute the way the top three are and definitely isn't classy the way Leliel is, but you have to respect the hustle and how Sahaquiel is trying its own thing. Be your quirky but endearing self, Sahaquiel!

PROS: You could easily make your own Sahaquiel out of playdough. CONS: Actual Sahaquiel is made up of bombs and drops pieces of itself onto the ground below and that's a lot to deal with and maybe you'd rather buy a bop-it after all.

NUMBER 6 SHAMSHEL

Shamshel has a lot going on. There's an eggplant vibe to Shamshel but also a vaginal look to its head that is a bit disconcerting. I've never seen it, does the Vagina Monologues take into account a vagina that's 80m tall and has laser whips for arms? Does the Vagina Monologues take Neon Genesis Evangelion into account at all? Folks, I'm going to be honest: Shamshel is a bit upsetting to look at but then I think about how its name is Shamshel and I find that so delightful to murmur in my mind that it supersedes how I don't really like looking at the eggplant vagina.

PROS: Shamshel. Sham-shel. Shaaaaamshel. CONS: Its physical existence.

NUMBER 7 TABRIS

Have you ever encountered something where you don't really have a problem with something as it is but you have a problem with how it complicates everything around it? Like maybe you're very proud of a collection of physical media but circumstances have caused you to have one entry in the middle of the series that doesn't match up with the things that come before and after, so you're putting them on a shelf and you want to be able to appreciate them from a display perspective but also this is about storing your stuff and whenever you look at it that one book or DVD or game sticks out like a sore thumb from its fellows and you resent it for how it has disrupted the peaceful and aesthetically pleasing ordering of your library. It hasn't done anything, maybe you even quite like it, but damn does it make organizing complicated. That's Tabris.

PROS: Akira Ishida. CONS: It's an Angel that's just a teenage boy. Mr. Anno why did you not consider how difficult this would make my ranking?

NUMBER 8 SANDALPHON

Oh Sandalphon. What am I going to do with you Sandalphon? You're trying so hard with this flatworm-frog hybrid thing. I feel like you should rank higher! Sandalphon's got a muppety vibe to it, like Kermit the Frog goes body horror. Or maybe H.R. Giger got to design a Pokémon. There's a lot of cilia going on with Sandalphon's extremities? Also, a cilia-surrounded underneath sucking mouth hole? Those are the sort of things that really cancel out googly eyes. Sorry Sandalphon. You're a baby. It's not your fault.

PROS: More Angels need googly eyes. CONS: Cilia. All the cilia. Keep that shit in your ears and around the edges of prokaryotes or wherever that shit goes.

NUMBER 9 RAMIEL

Ramiel's just a prism. Ramiel's just a floating prism. If Ramiel was some kind of spaceship or satellite, you'd say cool, that's a pretty distinctive design you have going on there Ramiel, a little alien but with a simplicity that makes it uncanny. But as an Angel, Ramiel feels like it was the Angel made when ... God? had a hangover after designing a more complicated Angel and just couldn't be fucked when it was time to make Ramiel.

PROS: No upsetting qualities. CONS: No interesting qualities.

NUMBER 10 ISRAFEL

I know this is going to sound harsh, but: Israfel is just bootleg Sachiel. A little bit of a pallet shift. Not quite as detailed. A little face but not as cute as Sachiel's little face. There's two of it, sort of, but two of a knockoff doesn't make it less of a knockoff. Instead, it really underscores how mass-produced and unoriginal Israfel is.

PROS: Makes me think of Sachiel. CONS: Very much not Sachiel.

NUMBER 11 IREUL

Ireul is the microscopic nanotech hacker Angel. Small is cute but after a certain point, small becomes more upsetting than big. You don't really see Ireul, you just see what Ireul does which is using rust nanolasers on computers? The most neutral of Angels.

PROS: None. CONS: None.

NUMBER 12 ZERUEL

Zeruel is the big boy Angel. Not cute but very cool in an '80s boys' toys kind of way, Zeruel looks like you could unfold chunks of its limbs and turn Zeruel into a blocky spaceship or truck. Again, that's cool, but that's not so much my thing. I liked the Transformers that were dinosaurs and the zords in Power Rangers (which could be dinosaurs). Basically, Zeruel would rank higher if it looked more like a dinosaur.

PROS: It does look like some of those blocky cute bug Pokémon. CONS: Not a dinosaur.

NUMBER 13 BARDIEL

Bardiel is the Angel that is the Eva built in America, so Bardiel looks like the other Evas, but with an evil colour palette (purple, but really dark purple). As this important document is ranking the Angels and not the Evas, some might be reading this without the knowledge that I find the design of the Evas deeply upsetting. I do not like them. I do not like looking at them. I do not like looking at Bardiel.

PROS: Is not the worst or more upsetting Angel to look at. CONS: Bardiel? More like BADiel. Because all of its qualities are bad and if you remove the 'r' from Bardiel the first syllable is 'bad' which is what Bardiel is. Bad. Badiel.

NUMBER 14 ARAEL

I keep looking at images for Arael and double-checking that they are, in fact, the Angel from the show and not some shitty MS Paint knock-off. Arael is a collection of white scribbles with what might be an eye at the centre or might just be an orb that two of the small scribbles are carrying around. Arael's a spray paint stencil someone got bored with halfway through their first can.

PROS: I can see ways Arael could have been cool. CONS: I'm not angry, just disappointed.

NUMBER 15 ARMISAEL

This motherfucker is literally just a giant ring of floating Xs. Ohhhhhh noooooo a fourth grader's drawn on finger tattoo is coming for us, helllllllllp. Fucking Claire's looking threat to humanity.

PROS: Easy to draw. CONS: There are too many non-threatening things to compare it to and choosing which to use is irritating. Do kids today even draw shit on their hands and arms and pretend they're tattoos? Would alien hula-hoop have been a better choice? Does Claire's still exist and do they still sell NeoPets merch?

NUMBER 16 LILITH

This is the real unlovable freak level. Lilith is only saved from the bottom by virtue of the extremely over-the-top Christian imagery. An awful, giant, bloated top half of a corpse nailed to a giant red cross, Lilith oozes orange goo. You look at Lilith and know Lilith has skin and that skin has elasticity and it pulls and undulates with the horrors Lilith contains. Lilith is constantly trying to regenerate, I think, via spawning a bunch of teeny tiny human legs, making the end of its torso look like Dr. Moreau's second place science fair project. Lilith has a cratered purple mask-like disc for a face with one giant triangle and seven eyes. The purple triangle can horrify conservative Christian reactionaries who want to go beyond Teletubbies, the eyes on the triangle can get Illuminati lovers horny, and the asymmetry of the eyes exists to piss me off.

PROS: It's important for the baby goth weebs to have something to latch onto. CONS: It's an undulating mass of flesh with horrible little human legs and it oozes orange goo and I hate it and do not want to look at it anymore.

NUMBER 17 ADAM

So there's two forms of Adam and one's just a light energy giant robot shaped thing that's boring and we're not going to talk about it because I forgot the fucking thing existed until just now. I'm basing this ranking on the embryonic Adam. Some might say this is unfair, would I judge a beauty pageant based on ultrasound images? Consider, instead: wouldn't that be rad? Maybe I'm the visionary the pageant industry needs.

Adam is a disgusting handful of veiny purple jizz with a single red eyeball and lives in Gendo Ikari's palm. The preceding sentence is like a MadLibs where every blank was qualified with 'terrible'. Choose which part of that description you hate the most!

Do you have any tips for shading? your shady is very pretty and i want to do something similar!

ok im gonna be honest im incompetent as fuck so be patient .

my ultimate rule is that you need to do everything and constantly fuck around and keep moving like youre a shark because if you stop any time you will literally die .

step 1: boot up etterna

step 2: play a song just a tiny bit too much out of your skill range, fail

step 3: remember you were supposed to be drawing

step 4: quit the game

step 5: open drawing software

so this is gonna be odd to explain,

what i usually do is have the biggest color (aka the primary color of the thing im painting in) depending on the way i want to make the shading i obviously use a darker color of sorts . it depends on how i want to make the lighting look anyways .

important to mention here is that i try to choose colors that aren't exactly the color that's there (i always do this for colors like white)

look at this that shit is just straight up dusty pink

whats most important is that i just do whatever the fuck i want and sometimes choose colors that would be considered odd or something because otherwise its boring as balls . fuck around and find out

the darker color is usually hue shifted as well, i would never ever try to use the same color hue but darker for the shading directly, idc about shit it is not satisfying when i do that .

step 6: i forgot the steps they existed for the intro of this post only

okay . also note that i used a very similar color to the main color,

i hue shifted it ever so slightly, you can do this with more of a hue shift but MAKE SURE ITS CONTRAST IS LOW

blending in areas that need them aka the shadow isnt sharp . also dont blend everything you will regret your whole life choices if you dont keep a good amount of shadows sharp than not (this is obvious but its necessary to state for some people)

so this looks bland af right . yeah it does so i obviously need to do something aka slap more shit on it .

take the shading color or something

hue shift and move across to make the contrast less clear (if i didnt move it from the spot the original one was in it would make it be a darker color which i didnt want)

now it looks weird as fuck which is what i want . its an extra amount of color that might seem unnecessary but thru doing this i feel my soul thrive personally so i put on more and more colors with minimal contrasting as much as i like

^ this is how it wouldve looked if i didnt adjust the brightness/etc. when shifting the hue, it doesnt look as satisfying unless im gonna do another layer of darkening on that shadow (which i wasnt gonna do, this was just to add extra colors)

this is how it usually ends up looking in a mass scale, notice the bunch of similar colors (aside from the shading color or whatever) that are shifted in hues, the only reason its not jarring is bcz they Nearly have no contrast with one another it just looks trippy.

this Adding low contrast differently hued colors is just how i do anything really, i also often reuse the colors from one spot and put it in another even if they are barely related

see here i mushed very greyed greens with purples and slight pink tinges which look much more vibrant when next to one another (its good to have it be contrasting sometimes but do it with some control)

you have to keep a balance of hues and contrasting and lack of contrasting when painting, a balance of sharp and smooth blending and the like, a balance of light and dark

but most importantly you cant just keep doing the same shit over and over without any variation, you cant keep the balance being just black and white, sometimes you gotta fuck around and go against "rules" and especially go against everything i just said

not all colors interact the same way with one another thus need attention all on their own and if you dont change anything by experimenting its not gonna work

pro tip (???): i always say i slap colors onto things randomly and thats kinda true because i genuinely mess around by putting on more and more colors to stimulate my brain (whom is starving)

its up to you how much you do this.

Classes fly by today and now it’s lunch. I get a special lunch made and sit with Katsuki. We sit alone for a few till Kirishima, Ashido and two others come to sit.

“Hey Fuka! Mind if we sit with you?” I shake my head no and they sit.

“Fuka this is Sero and Kaminari. You two this is Fuka.” Ashido say they wave and I nod back.

“So baby girl-.” I growl cutting Kaminari off.

“Don’t ever flirt with my again or I’m going to bite into your-.”

“Sir, will you be the one deciding who wins?” Iida asks.

“How much can we hurt the other team?” Katsuki asks with a smirk.

“Am I allowed to stop him?” I ask, Katsuki groans at me.

“Do we need to worry about the losers getting expelled like earlier?” Uraraka asks.

“Will you be splitting us up based on chance or comparative skill?” Iida asks.

“I wasn't finished talking! Listen up. The situation is this. The villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try to foil their plans. To do that, the good guys either have to catch the evildoers or recover the weapon. Likewise, the bad guys succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes.” All Might says as he reads from a small piece of paper.

“Time's limited, and we'll choose teams by drawing lots!” He finishes and once again Iida opens his mouth.

“Don’t you fucking dare ask another question.”

“I can ask questions if I want!”

“Are you threatening me again?!”

“Young Fuka please just let young Iida finish his question.” I roll my eyes and huff. 

“Anyways as I was asking, isn't there a better way?”

“Knew it was a stupid question.” I say.

“Pros often have to team up with heroes from other agencies on the spot, so maybe that's the reason we're seeing that here.” All Might says.

“No sweat. Let's draw!” We all go up and get a ball, I get D with Katsuki we stand together.

“I declare that the first teams to fight will be... these guys! Team A will be the heroes, Team D will be the villains. Everyone else can head to the monitoring room to watch!” All Might says, me and Katsuki high five.

“Bad guys, you can go on in and get set up. In five minutes, the good guys will be let loose and the battle will start!”

“Young Fuka, Young Bakugo. The key to being successful in this challenge is to embody villainy. Think from the perspective of an evildoer.” All Might say with the A team away.

“Katsuki will be fine, if anything I’d worry about Midoriya.” The water is now up to about my ankles.

“Fuka smart, if Uraraka goes in there the water will leave so she’ll know when she enters. Plus it would knock Uraraka out.” Sero says.

“Plus Fuka can swim really good!” Ashido says

“Yes but what about Bakugo? Can he even swim?” Tsu asks.

“I mean their best friends Bakugo should know how to swim.” Mineta says.

“Oh look the bomb starting to float.” Kaminari says. I sigh as the bomb doesn’t sink. I pick up chucks from the wall and to hold the bomb down, which works. I open my harness to grab my pocket knife and walk over to the door. No locks so I can’t fiddle with it to make it lock. I look down to see the water is up to my knees.

“Katsuki, plan?” I ask

“As you said. She’s still here.” I nod and think.

“I’m going shark soon, waters up to my waist.”

“Okay.” I wait till it’s up to my chest and turn. I swim around and feel for anything.

“Hey, who's Bakugo talking to? I'm not hearing anything. Can we get any sound with this video?” Kirishima asks.

“He's got a radio in his ear so he can talk to his partner. I gave it to him before the match started. Along with a map of the building. Also, this. A roll of capture tape! Wrapping this around your opponent means you've apprehended them, and they're out for the rest of the game.” All Might says

“So, there's a 15‐minute time limit, and the good guys have no idea what floor the nuclear weapon is hidden on, right?” Ashido ask.

“Correct!”

“Then the heroes are clearly at a disadvantage here.” Iida says.

“A big one! Real Pros have to outwit villains on a daily basis. That's life. Even when the odds aren't in our favor, we fight!” All Might says.

“She left.” I hear Katsuki say in the ear piece that’s on the pipe. I swim back and forth from the two doors and wait.

“Found it. Now I just have to tell Deku. And try my best to stay outta sight until he gets up here.” Uraraka whisper, I pick up on and turn back.

“I hear you! Now either we do this the easy way or the hard way! Your pick pinky!” I yell loud enough for her to hear. I smell the air and don’t get anything for scent wise but I know she here still.

“Katsuki got pinkypie up here.” I say I hear nothing from him.

“Come on! I don’t have all day pinkypie!” I yell and walk over to the door and feel her hiding behind it but don’t see her. I huff and stay there.

“Um Deku?” I hear her says, I doubt he’s actually here so it must be the earpiece.

“I'm here. How's it going?” I hear him answer.

“Fuka knows that I'm here. Sorry. Right now she’s waiting for me to open the door, she filled the room with water.”

“Where are you?”

“Near the middle of the fifth floor but I can’t even open the door with the force of water.”

“That was the plan pinky. What you think I can’t hear you?” I bang on the door and she jumps.

“EXACTLY IF! I SWEAR TO FUCKING WHOEVERS UP THERE I’LL BITE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!” I yell at him and hear him tch and a loud boom. The ground shakes, Uraraka opens the door and water falls out. She floats herself and I hang on to the pipe. I kick her and she falls. I see the bomb float away with the water and let it go. She lays there and coughs, I pick her up and throw her. I slam the door close and break it. I run down and follow the water, I grab the bomb and see a closet and drop it off in there.

I run to find Katsuki no longer caring about the training. I keep running and slow down once I see them.

“KATSUKI BAKUGO! YOU GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE SO HELP ME!” They freezes as I keep yelling.

“WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO? KILL EACH OTHER? WHATS FUCKING WRONG WITH YOU TWO? I DON’T GIVE AN ACTUAL FUCK IF YOU HATE EACH OTHER OR NOT! YOU CAN NOT FUCKING BEAT THE LIVING OUT OF EACH OTHER! NOW DO I MAKE MYSELF FUCKING CLEAR?!” I yell as my hand lands on my hip and I talk with my other hand.

“Yes ma’am.” They both say.

“Now apologize to each.”

“Sorry Kachann.”

“Now Imma go back to the bomb if I so as hear another big ass explosion or any of the sorts I’m telling your mothers. Got it?” They nod and I leave.

“Yeah I mean if you went up against someone else it would have worked. I have a sixth sense that helps me with dodging you otherwise I would have lost.” She nods and I continue to sit with her as I wait for the time to run out. I hear All Might yell at Bakugo about if he uses it again he’ll end the training and the other team wins.

“What is Fuka doing?” Ashido asks.

“Fuka seems to have an easy time with dodging Uraraka’s hits before hand.” Iida cuts Mineta off.

I feel the floor shake and I huff and hold on to Uraraka so she doesn’t fly away. Then Midoriya breaks the floor. I get bolts of the electricity go through everything and myself and get sick. 

“Uhh the Villain team wins!” I run over to the corner and throw up.

“Uh Young Fuka are you okay?”

“Just give me a minute.” I say sickly and continue to throw up.

“I’ll go get you some water!” Uraraka says and walk out to get a bottle.

“I’m going to kill then.”

“Please don’t young Fuka.” After a bit we all head back to the main room. Katsuki holds on to me as I still feel sick.

“What a weird way for this to end.” Kaminari says. Ashido runs over to me and helps me sit down.

She had a strategy, and only once lost sight of her mission for protecting the dummy weapon, even if she left Uraraka alone and she could have lost because of that. She did it because she could have lost everything with Bakugo’s pointless rage. Fuka also had a thought out plan that as far as I know went according to plan. The hero team only took advantage of the fact that this is only a training and not a real bomb.” Yaoyorozu says.

“And I was captured, meaning I lost!” Uraraka says.

“I guess the new MPV is Young Fuka.” All Might says.

“One should always start with the basics and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning. That's the only real way to become a top hero.”Yaoyorozu says.

“As it should be! Good job bestie!” Ashido turns to give Fuka a high five but only to be left hanging with a sleeping Fuka. A couple round go by as I still stay asleep. Ashido wakes me up as we finish the class.

“That's a wrap! Super work. You really stepped up to the plate. And, we didn't have any major injuries, except for Midoriya. You should be proud. Excellent first day of training, all around!” All Might says.

“Now, that’s all folks! I should go and check on Young Midoriya's progress! Now, watch how a pro exits. Like he's got somewhere to be!” He leaves, I roll my eyes.

“She got sick earlier from her quirk. She really sleepy and I think it’s be better if she would sleep at the nurse.” She continues ignoring me.

“Ashido, the nurse can’t do anything for this. I have to wait it out.” I mumble Katsuki grabs my backpack and grabs my smoothie.

“Drink .” He says and hands me it, similar to chum but cow and stuff.

“Can’t.”

“Just step out and drink it.” He says.

“You can go drank it out of the class.” Sensei says I nod and snatch the bottle and walk out.

“What’s in that?” Ashido asks Katsuki.

“None of your fucking business.” The day flys by and before I know it, it’s time to leave. We walk out and I feel much better.

“Wait up!” Midoriya yells and we stop.

“What?” Katsuki asks.

“I haven't told anyone this secret. Not even my mom. I have to tell you two something. Maybe then, you guys will understand what's been going on. I wasn't hiding my Quirk from you guys. It was given to me by someone else. Recently.”

“Tch.” Katsuki says

“But I can't tell you guys who I got it from, so don't ask! Sounds crazy, I know. It's like something out of a comic book. Only, it's real. The thing is, I don't really have any control over this power yet. I haven't figured out how to make it my own, but I'm trying. That's why... I didn't wanna use it against you in the exercise. But in the end, it was the only way that I had a chance of winning. I've still got a lot to learn. I know that. That's why I'm here! You'll see. I'll work until I have full control of this borrowed Quirk. And I'll finally beat you two with my own power!” He gasps and mutters.

“Oh crap why am I telling you this? I only meant to tell them that I wasn't tricking them!”

“There you are young Bakugo! I found you! Just so you know, pride is an important attribute to have. But while you certainly have the abilities to become a pro hero, there's still plenty you have to learn!” He holds on to Katsuki.

“Let go of me, All Might. Right now.”

“Hm?” He tilts his head.

“You heard him.” I growl at him.

“Save your speeches. I'll be more famous than you, and I'll do it without your help.” Katsuki walks away and I look back to Midoriya.

“I don’t know what your trying to do feeding us bullshit with this “quirk” thing. But if you try to do this bullshit again I’ll drag you to the bottom of the ocean and leave you there. Got it?” He nods.

“Young Fuka-.” He puts his hand in my shoulder.

“I’m not done. Your a fucking shitty ass teacher and a hero. Your fucking lucky Katsuki didn’t get hurt or I would have done so much worse then give you my words.” I shove his arms off and he stumbles a little and I leave. I give a text to Katsuki say that if he want to talk I’m here and if need be my window is open for him to go through. I stay in my room and sleep, not once did Katsuki come in that I know of.

So I just thought I'd give you guys an update I know I haven't posted for a very very long time to have been told I've been going through quite a bit of self-discovery and also I've been sick for about 4 months with an inner ear issue called ostitis media I had inflammation of the ear canal so bad that I've been on antibiotics twice for it it started in March when I first initially got my ear cleaned due to a blockage. I've been out in and out of the hospital and doctors more than an 80 year old woman I still have pain and it's almost to September it's pretty much cleared up now but I do not wish the pain that I was in upon anyone I couldn't wear my headset for more than 30 minutes at a time it was that bad I had to give up a really nice pair of headset it's because they clamping force was too strong I miss them but I have a pair of black shark pros that were just as well anyways that being said I threw me into a bit of depression where I lost motivation to do pretty much anything I've been struggling a lot but I'm okay I'm getting over it I'm taking care of myself sleeping better not staying up as late as I used to. but it threw me into quite a bit of a depression that and I'm still struggling to find myself and my way and another job and plus a little bit of motivation posting for my sim so I've been investing more of my time in the wow community I want to thank you guys for sticking around my blog I love you so much and I just wanted to let you know I'm okay and I miss you guys
