Maybe I'm not there in terms of acceptance or whatever but i can't muster any pride regarding my disability or feel any positive way about disability pride month. I don't even like saying I have a disability. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it and being proud of oneself is so so important, I just don't. It's fucking hard, tiring and ugly af. Especially considering I'm in the position of trying to find employment that works for me but also conceal my disability so that I don't face discrimination. A very real issue considering people treat bipolar like it's a joke, not legitimate or it's heavily demonized. The amount of uwu acceptance posts or funny memes don't change that.

Anyway I don't know what my point is, I'm frustrated and rambling so I'll shut up now. But just remember, the next time I see an offhanded comment about the weather being bipolar or some bullshit I'll probably fight you like this manic nightmare woman that I am.

Ok but a movie with a feminist deconstruction of the manic pixie dream girl trope that’s actually about a bipolar women would have so many layers to it.

How people want a fun and unique partner until they’re too fun and unique. How women aren’t just blank slates for romance. How women are often abandoned by their partners during health crisis. How sometimes toxic men will focus on how their partner’s health problems inconvenience them.

It would be such a fun way to explore the trope in such an emotionally charged way.

i sew entirely by hand and i recognize that this is innefficant in that what takes me 2 days could take me like 25 minutes and that my stitches are sloppier this way but i also refuse to submit to the machine yet purely on the grounds of needing a hobby that will consume large chunks of my time so that i dont get bored enough to accidently fall into a dark place. like playing league of legends
