Heinry and Kaufman and sexual harassment

I know manhwa fandom glorifies rape and sexual harassment and often the ml's are like that so I wasn't surprised when Heinry and Kaufman were just that.

First let's talk about heinry. He in his bird form stalked Navier to get close to her with malicious intent, he fell in love with (read got obsessed with) her later. But his first priority was to gather information and ruin her reputation. What a great start for our golden retriever puppy boi 🥺

Navier kissed queen, held it against her breasts, even spent a night with his bird form while he could feel her touch as a human being, not to mention as a naked person too. Navier didn't know it was heinry. She thought it was an adorable bird and he took advantage of that. He was a pervert who touched Navier intimately and later blushed in his room thinking about 🙄

McKenna never let Navier touch him in his bird form cause he knew it wasn't right. He felt uncomfortable doing this to Navier. Cause it was creepy and sexual harassment.

Of course the author made Navier brush over the fact cause otherwise how would he look better next to Sovieshu? You don't want people realise that your ml is worse than the antagonist.

And now Kaufman - that man is lucky cause he gets hardly any backlash despite being equally creepy cause he licks Navier's feet and punched Sovieshu. But this fandom ignored how he offered a rape drug to Navier to apply it on Sovieshu. Yes it was a rape drug. It basically forces people to fall in love with one person and the aggressor could do anything to the victim and the victim would have no choice but to comply. He also does this to heinry later. This guy is just distributing rape drugs like Tylenols and yet gets no flake from Navier. Cause once again how would he look better than Sovieshu if people realised that?

You know who never sexually harassed Navier or any other women? Sovieshu

You know who never distributed rape drugs to people? Sovieshu

Everything he did with Rashta was consensual between two adults. He never pushed Navier to get sexually intimate when Navier refused him.

His relationship with Rashta was never treated as cheating rather Rashta was considered a second wife. She signed documents like a marriage certificate and their prenup was that her kids won't get the throne. She told Navier that they had the same husband and Navier never refused that cause it was true.

Polygamous relationship was allowed and heck even Sovieshu told Navier she could take another husband if she wanted but he told her not to take heinry or Kaufman which is very logical cause it's a security risk for the nation. He wasn't against Navier taking another concubine, he was against the creepy dudes that were circling his empire.

Man I can't believe that Sovieshu, the intended antagonist of the story, is way more moral than the supposedly good guys of the story.

But again I'm not surprised. Manhwa community glorifies rape and sexual harassment. Trust me if heinry and Kaufman were ugly looking, there would be much more outcry but they get a pass cause they look decent. Don't get me wrong, I still dislike Sovieshu about how he treated Navier and Rashta later but that bish paid for his crime by being miserable rest of his life.

Heinry is the pUpPy boi and Kaufman is the mysterious hurt foreign man 😑 never did. They don't even think their actions were creepy.

I really hate manhwa authors and its fandom sometimes.

This is why beware of the villainess will always be my favourite. It points out the creepiness of manhwa fandom.

Beware of the Villainess! is so fucking fun and I 100% recommend it.

It starts off as your normal "reincarnated as the villainess" story, but as the main character (Melissa) realizes that all the "real" main character (Yuri)'s love interest's are trash, she decides to do what she can to protect Yuri, and screw the plot.

And like? The love interest's are trash, but I ended up pitying some of them anyway? Because as time goes on, it becomes more and more clear that the characters were bound by the confines of the story, and it's only when someone from outside the story shows up that they're able to learn and grow and become people. Like, I'm not saying that it's like Princess Tutu at all, but it gave me the same #vibes when it comes to dealing with the confines of the story you're in, and what it means to be a character vs. a "real" person.

...You know, if Duck swore a lot more and used a sword.

Admittedly, maybe the connection only makes sense in my head lmao, but fuck it, this is my blog and I'll make that connection if I want to. |D

Isekai Female Protagonists

You know, I feel it’s ironic that the current isekai female stories I read nowadays have badass girl bosses as the protagonists, meanwhile my favorite of them all and the one that got me into the genre in the first place is Katarina Claes, the OG lovable dumbass of a protagonist. She’s just too adorable for this world. 😔🫶

Why I like Kill the villainess and beware of the villainess?

For many things. One of them is:

Neither of the current FL goes for the original ML. I dropped "the villainess is a marionette" solely because the current FL goes for the original ML who had a good relationship with the ogFL and got married with her. The ogFL is even a good person and ogML wasn't a gutter a rat creature yet their beautiful love story got ruined. It makes love look so fickle and useless.

Same reason I dropped "Death is the only ending for the villainess". What's worse is the story turned the ogFL a white lotus. 🙄

It grosses me out when manhwa do that.

That's why I love Kill the villainess and beware of the villainess.

In KTH:

Eris chose a man who wasn't infatuated with Helena and Helena wasn't vilified. Rather in many occasions, Eris is the one who acted like a jerk to her but she redeemed herself in the end. Got a man that wasn't in love with other women before and avoided the men who suddenly started falling in love with her cause she has become "interesting". She went back to the modern world and things didn't magically become better with her family. But she got a happy ending with Anakin, her new family. So did Helena.

In BOV:

Melissa did the same. She didn't take back her cheating fiance. Another two ml didn't even fall for her which is a breath of fresh air as most of the time all the male lead falls for the new FL for some reason. Her brother wasn't a siscon either like many manhwa which is gross in its own way. She has a new ML who's a good person and isn't a two faced snake. The OGfl Yuri also gets rescued and has a good friendship with the current FL.

These two manhwa have everything I like.

-No girl vs girl crap

-No stealing ogml

-No white lotus ogFL

-Not every ml falls for the FL (beware of the villainess)

-Happy ending for both FL

-New ML isn't a warmonger maniac and their actions aren't justified by sob backstory.

I wish there were more like them. I drop manhwa whenever I see the ogFL is a white lotus or current FL ends up with ogML.

Rashta could have been Helena from kill the villainess if she actually had a supportive environment instead of getting blackmailed by the male characters. I wish like Eris, there was a noble woman who came forward to help her instead of playing favorites with mc. Eris despite disliking her initially helped her (for her own selfish reason and she even stabbed Helena but I'm not angry as she's a grey character and never claimed to be a good person).

There needs to be more MC like Eris, Melissa who don't choose crappy ML and calls out the creepiness and actually helps other women.

You questioned while rubbing your temples as if to help you wake up from some crazy dream.

The system, whose name is Jin Xian, looked at you nervously before explaining once more.

You took a deep breath and tried not to lose it."So what you're saying is, there's a bug that's currently hiding in all the manhwas and novels I read for the last few years now and it's probably aiming to kill them all for some unknown reason?"

It hesitates before nodding slowly, "Yeah.. I guess you could put it that way"

"...And you want me to take care of it right?"

"...Y...Yes." It said awkwardly.

"And can I ask why you or whoever you work for haven't done anything about it until now?"

"We tried.." the system answered sadly, "But we just couldn't detect its exact location or even track down where it originally came from. There wasn't anything to pinpoint exactly. But then the people in charge decided that the best course of action was to let us deal with the situation ourselves while they search for another solution, so they decided to send the best world-hoppers to those worlds to try and stop it from spreading, those people are considered the best of the best, all their worlds missions were successful so far with a SSS ranking, of course only the higher ranking systems get those hosts while we low ranking ones have to look for temporary hosts with zero experience." it paused for a moment, before continuing, "So here we are"

It pouted as it said that sentence."Why do I always get stuck with the lowest rank?"

You raised an eyebrow at it." Because you're an idiot, you couldn't even get the right person to be your host, a simple task that should have been easy enough for systems of all rankings and you still failed, no wonder your rank is so low." you snapped in annoyance.

"...That... might be a tad harsh, miss..." it admitted sheepishly. it's been called a lot worse, especially recently, but it still hurt. it might be a robot but it has feelings ok?!

"So now that everything is clear, we need to start moving now! The more time we waste, the faster the bug will spread."

It was silent for a moment before you gave the cheerful Xian a small smile.

"No."

You stated with finality.

"...what?" the system replied in confusion." What do you mean no?"

"Look, as much as I want to meet the characters and go through the quests to get to the bug's location I can't, I have a life here and I'm guessing this mission of yours is gonna be pretty dangerous right?" you gave it a stern stare."So I'm sorry, but I like being alive and I'm not gonna risk it for some fantasy."

"But... but mis-" it attempted to explain, desperate to convince you, "You can't just-"it tried to speak, only to be cut off.

"This mission needs someone intelligent and dedicated, and I assure you I'm neither of these things." You continued to reason, ignoring the obvious pleading tone of your companion. You chuckled, giving the poor thing a comforting smile before continuing."tell you what, I'll pretend that all that happened today was a terrific fever dream and you'll go and look for an actual host that suits you, how about that?"

"But-!"

"Goodbye~! Have a good hunt!" you said as you grabbed it and throw it out the window and closed it shut."I wish you luck!" the room fell into silence again, only the whirring sound of the air conditioning filling the room.

You sighed in relief." Finally." you said, ready to forget the shit that just happened.

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, my dear host." a cold voice sounded from behind you as a chill run down your spine.

'Fuck.'
