Des Dragons normands à Beuvron-en-Auge
Thomas Lesourd, auteur illustrateur de Dragons normands, évoquera, dimanche 17 avril 2022, à Beuvron-en-Auge (Calvados), la saga « Seigneur, j’ai rétréci les Vikings ! » | OUEST-FRANCE

Months passed and Salene was ever so slowly rebuilt, along with its villages surrounding the palace. Many people from Beuvron en Auge came to assist, as well, now knowing that their famed baker was actually royalty.
It war hard work, however, The palace exterior was made from moon- and sandstone, both of which took time to cultivate and shape accordingly. Nonetheless, the people prevailed and the kingdom was built anew.
The queen now had a blooming spring located away from the palace that she used in order to wind down and get away from things whenever she felt too stressed and overwhelmed.
Trees adorned the landscape and little lily pads and lotus flowers gently floated amidst the waters of the pond.
It was a truly peaceful place to be.
Kikumi let out a heavy sigh. More and more questions from her people, asking why she had run in the first place... Despite giving them the truth and answering those questions, she seemed to gain more in return. It was all too much. She began to wonder if she was cut out to be a ruler, after all...
Her thoughts were interrupted when a hand grabbed her from behind, pulling her into an embrace. She didn’t even hear the prince come, and yet here he was...
“You seem lost in thought again,” he stated. “Are you still worried about what happens next?”
Kikumi couldn’t help but smile at how he managed to sneak up on her the way he did, not even his boots seemed to have made noise against the stone flooring. It could have been the moss, maybe?
“In a way,” she responded. “I’ve answered their questions yet they still seem like they want answers, or that my answers weren’t enough. Maybe I’m not cut out for this like I had imagined... maybe it was just my determination to defeat Wrath’s Husk that was talking...”
The prince pulled the queen into a slow, calming sort of dance. “Those thoughts of your’s are going to get you nowhere.”
Step...spin...twirl...repeat... the dance continued.
“It’s the one thing that will keep you from moving forward.” Polnareff stated. “If you accept the fact that not everyone can be pleased and can see that the majority of your people are actually quite revealed to see you returned, you’ll prosper greatly.”
Step...spin...twirl...repeat....
Kikumi couldn’t help but feel warm inside as she and the prince shared their dance. She felt her cheeks turn red at his comments.
“You’re too sweet with me.” she said, taking his hand once more.
Was he just trying to make her feel better, or did he truly mean his words? Kikumi couldn’t tell. She was too entertained by their joyful dance to care which was answer was right. Time... should stop. She didn’t want this moment to end.
“I hope you know...” the prince began, “I’ll help you and your kingdom out whenever it’s needed.”
“That’s nice of you, you’re Highness,” Kikumi replied, “And... I’ll do my best to help your’s, as needed.”
Polnareff drew their gentle dance to a close and held the queen in his arms, causing her sea-foam eyes to widen in surprise. “I want you to realize that you’re a wonderful girl, Kikumi. So what if a few people are unhappy that you run, most are glad to see you back.” He tightened his grip on her shoulders. “So don’t beat yourself up on this matter. You have what it takes to be a queen, I’ve seen it firsthand. You’ll get the hang of things, and if you ever need advice, I’m right here.”
Kikumi was frozen. She didn’t know if it was in shock at the sudden embrace or if it was due to the words coming from his lips. Her body was warm, fuzzy even.
“...Please don’t leave.”
The prince looked down at the elf before him, caught off guard by her words. “W-What...?”
Kikumi’s face was buried in his chest, or rather the ruffles hanging from the collar of his shirt. She was shaking. “Please... don’t leave...”
Polnareff gently stroked her hair in attempt to comfort her. “I won’t.” He lifted her chin and revealed her sullen expression. “Hey... I’m here. Now... lets go address the people. Your almost late for your meeting.”
Kikumi looked to the side. “...Okay...”
“Hey.” Polnareff cupped his hands around her cheeks, lifting her gaze towards him. “We’ll do this together, alright?” She finally got a smile out of her before taking her hand, leading her towards the exit of her blooming spring.
Together...
Kikumi liked the sound of that.
Castles and Castes event end!
Thank you to everyone who enjoyed coming to see how Kikumi’s side of the vent unfolded! If you haven’t seen the main half of this year’s event, please travel over to @strawberry-metal and see how she did! After all, I sort of played off of her idea for this one (with permission, of course~)
I do apologize for the ending being late, I just haven’t been in the right mental state to continue these last few days. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to go be the wonderful piece of trash that I am and binge listen to songs from Heathers. Bye bye~ See you all again for the next event! Ask box for regular Kikumi is still open!
