for reference our parents keep a knife in the glove box for cutting up fruit in the car. My brother just forgot about that fact at that moment in time.
#3#splat dare#dare#videogames#videogame art#artists on tumblr#splatoon art#interior art#videogame comic#splatoon comic#comic#my art#splatoon#read left to right- up to down#there were no actual fidget toys in there. just the owners manual/ some panflits/ a pair of sun glasses/ a knife/ and some mystery keys.#after the knife got shot down i spent the rest of the trip playing with the keys#also fun fact! we were driveing to go see the new spiderverse movie! :D#i let my phone sit in a bag of rice for 25 hours after i cleaned it off. the toylit was flushed at the time but better safe than sorry#also it REALLY needed the deep clean... it was so full of ceramic dust xD#but the irl insident was a bit more impressive since the sink was even further away from the toilet and i went to balance my phone on the#faucet of the sink ... it mannaged to parcore its way all over to the toylet. i tryed to grab it but insteed i slaped it and caused it to#propell further and reach the toilet...#x_x#i know this is like... a common human experence... but this is my first time ever droping my phone in the toilet...#also wow look! my first time drawing the other half of splat dare bathroom!#based on real events#i altered the actions slightly so that it whould be able to take place in splat dare bathroom insteed of my bathroom#and the second one whould have needed more pannels to be more accurate about movements but i changed it slightly so i chould knock off thos#2 pannels for efficiency!#BTW THE PHONE HAS SINCE COME OUT OF THE RICE BAG AND IS WORKING JUST AS WELL AS IT HAD BEFORE I DROPED IT!

thinking about the time in curse of strahd we had to explain to a new pc who had just joined the party what we were doing next and really got to think about how "we have to go to this swamp to kill a witch so we can get a dragon skull back so this walking corpse will give us a magic sword without murdering us" sounds when you lay it all out like that

12, 22, 30!!! ❤️
Thanks for asking!
12. what’s some good advice you want to share?
Thought I'd go for something I've been trying to hold myself to personally here. I have no idea if this is particularly applicable to others to the same extent it is to me, but eh. Basically, it's incredibly easy sometimes to get fixated on your own mistakes, to try and mull over how you could have done things differently, to try and examine from all angles how it went wrong. The "what if"s essentially. And, don't get me wrong, you can often learn lessons from previous mistakes. And it can be healthy to vent or wallow occasionally. But oftentimes, it's just an excuse to wind yourself up further over what you could have done. To trip over yourself in guilt rather than looking at the present, which then just means you end up making the same mistakes -> why did I do that, I should know better -> rinse, repeat. So, if you're stuck on what-if scenarios and it's a case where you're not actually getting anything constructive out of it. (Namely, stuff like if you need to give an apology, if it's better to just leave it be, what you intend to do in a similar scenario if it arises, etc) If all it's achieving is making yourself feel worse? Stop. Just literally stop ruminating over it. And I know it's a lot easier to say that than *do* it, but the key thing is to catch yourself when you're doing the spiralling thing and just acknowledge that that's what's going on. Then try and move on. But at the same time, if you're not able to shut it off immediately, don't beat yourself up over it. Just recognising when you're in that zone is progress in of itself.
22. say 3 things about someone you love
This is more "loved" than "love" but I say it counts. So, my cat. - When it got cold in the winter and I was working from home, she would always come and sit on my lap and let me stroke her whilst I was doing stuff. Sometimes, she would get onto my lap by peeking up through the shelf intended for a printer and other times she would go straight over the desk. We had a system where when she wanted to leave, I'd spin the chair over to the bed and she'd walk from the desk over my lap to the bed to curl up and sleep. - One year, we got her a cat 'Christmas stocking'. It had a load of different things in it, but most importantly, it had these cat treats she really enjoyed. Unfortunately, we didn't realise she would be able to sus out what it was, so one day we got home and found the whole thing ripped open and scattered across the sides. After that, we made sure to hide any presents for her very carefully. - The only one of her toy type things we got her that she would actually use was the scratching post. If something had catnip in she'd get all big-eyed over it (which, no surprise, led to scratches), but anything else she'd just plain ignore. She was picky like that. I miss her.
30. what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?
I don't actually have any cheat code for this one. No guarantees so much as mitigations, but let's see. Hm. I think getting away from home for a bit is a big one. Just to change the environment up really (this applies doubly in autumn/winter when the weather and short days mean I spend most of my time inside). I'll often go find a nearby place that does hot chocolate and go sit there for a bit, listening to music if it's on in there or bringing my headphones along. If I've thought ahead I'll bring something to read as well. If the weather is nice there are some local areas to explore as well and some places that are fairly quiet. In the summer, you can head to the nearby graveyard and there's this abandoned chapel type building (unfortunately you can't get into it but you can go around it :<) and loads of crows and squirrels. I also as a general kinda happy thing rather than a cheering up kinda deal tend to like watching stuff with friends.

I didn't say this because of Reyna's controversy as a lesbian, but because of the fact that everyone was aware of her conversation with Venus and tried to find her a partner. From the way Riordan wrote it, Camp Jupiter seemed to be a audience surrogate and that whole moment was like breaking the fourth wall to send a response to everyone who was discussing that topic after BoO.
I'm honestly even more lost on that one? Because? That's literally just what Riordan does...?
Like. When the PJO books ended and Annabeth and Percy got together, the whole damn camp was there to cheer them on like they hadn't just all lost siblings and friends in this war that ended just now and like their whole lives resolve around Percy Jackson's romantic life. Why would the whole camp even care. Their close friends? Sure. But there were so many campers who weren't close with Percy or Annabeth and who most definitely would have prioritized their own grief and not given a damn about this.
And then he did it again in HoO, when Arachne had made a tapestry of the underwater kiss, like even the monsters in-universe ship Annabeth and Percy? This one was genuinely just ridiculous why would this millennia old monster make a tapestry of two kids kissing underwater, how would she even know about this.
This is a writing short-hand for when you're insecure, quite frankly. If the characters in-universe love this? Then you, the reader/watcher, surely will too! Instead of relying on your actual story-telling doing the work of convincing your readers of this.
Don't get me wrong, "the friends of the main characters love their relationship and hype them" is a whole different thing. But the scale of having just complete randos and even straight-up villains invested in your ship? That's... whacky and reeks of insecurity.
All of this goes to say that Riordan has always used campers as stand-ins that will be invested in whatever Riordan wants the readers invested in. That's been the case since the early beginnings of this universe, so it's nothing new.
So... in that respect? I'm entirely not surprised? Especially since this directly followed the tea party, which in itself already had this very same purpose - "we're in the middle of a war but let's have The Goddess Of Love personally invested in my ships, please!" - so of course are other campers invested in the love-life of a main character, because that's just what they're here for.

I had a thought and want to get it out of my head and into the world, but do to the nature of it beware of mild body horror(I think that is the right term, if it's not feel free to correct me) so I thought of an interesting concept for a fey's appearance(though it could work for a more person shaped eldritch horror, the two aesthetics have a surprising amount of overlap) that I think fits with that uncanny valley thing they can sometimes have. so at first glance they just look like a person but if you actually look at them some key features will pretty quickly jump out at you. firstly despite definitely having a full face of features, only the mouth catches your attention enough to truly see it(everything else is indistinct no matter how much you try to focus on it). secondly, said mouth has that classic fey smile with far to many teeth(my initial description when I first thought of this concept was "more teeth visible then should reasonably fit in a skull"). and thirdly, whenever it opens its mouth(such as to speak or whatever) you can see through the gap between its teeth the same closed tooth grin it had before behind them

(Yes I’m aware my employers are the coolest and I’m very grateful) this feels like when pb’s like “I need to stay up and take care of Goliad it’s incredibly important that I do it because I have a better understanding of her brain on a chemical level than anyone else. Not only that but I’m planning on doing it and will do it regardless of my mental state” and f&j were like “hey we’re a kid and a dog why don’t we do it” and she’s immediately like “ok zzzzz”
