HMS Surprise midshipmen! grown up!
Top tier Aubreyad experience earlier this week - at the (sold out!) Animus screening of Master and Commander at the Prince Charles Cinema: 5 of the actors randomly showed up, apparently having bought tickets?? and were brought onstage and pressed for an anecdote
A foremast jack and four midshipmen!
Alex Palmer who played ‘never met a dead man who bought me a drink’ Nehemiah Slade, Jack Randall who played Boyle the midshipman, Lee Ingleby who played the unfortunate Mr Hollom, and, of course, Max Pirkis and Max Benitz, who played the tiny Mr Blakeney and Mr Calamy respectively. Delightful anecdotes of how they’re all still friends, and had arranged a dinner with the lads and figured they come and see it. They seemed genuinely amazed and delighted that the screening sold out, and told some tales of life during the shoot: music Peter Weir would play on set, and birthday parties they had during filming.

Fans of Kanye West are turning on the embattled rapper after his latest shocking comments and Twitter posts, RadarOnline.com has learned, and many are now siding with Taylor Swift following their years-long feud.
Several people in his Subreddit said he had gone too far this time, leading to multiple posts about the Anti-Hero singer in regards to her public spat with the Yeezy designer.

"This is now a Taylor Swift Subreddit. We had a good run fellas," read a post on December 1 amid dominating discussions about his rhetoric in an explosive interview.
Several clips of Ye have been shared on Twitter, showing the Eazy rapper explaining why he likes Hitler during a November 30 appearance on Alex Jones' InfoWars, arguing "every human being has something of value that they brought to the table."
"I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis," he doubled down.
Ye later tweeted an image appearing to show a swastika inside a Star of David, which was then blocked by new Twitter chief Elon Musk as a violation of its rules.
His account is now suspended for the second time, and fans are sounding off in a Subreddit once dedicated to Ye.

"Now we got bad blood," one commented under the thread.
"Kanye, Kanye, I'm not gonna let you finish…," another quipped, referring to his now-infamous on-stage moment with Swift as she attempted to accept her award for Best Video by a Female Artist at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
"Your nemesis will defeat himself before you get the chance to swing," a third posted, referring to her lyric in Long Story Short.

Meanwhile, others brought up the drama between West and Swift following the rapper's February 2016 release of his song Famous, with the controversial verse, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b---- famous."
Tension reached a boiling point after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's subsequent claims that Swift knew of West's plans to release the track, and the leak of a phone call between West and Swift discussing the song before its release.

West, who recently announced he was running for President in 2024, has been at the center of controversy since making headlines for his antisemitic message about wanting to go "death con 3 on Jewish people" in an October tweet.
The Bound 2 lyricist has been dumped by Adidas, Balenciaga, and the talent agent CAA amid his recent tirades, speaking out about his disdain for cancel culture before his account was suspended.

Going through subfolders upon subfolders on my laptop while looking for something else, I tripped and fell over a bunch of drunken sailors enjoying some downtime during the filming of Master and Commander: Joseph Morgan (Warley), Max Benitz (Calamy), William Mannering (Doudle), Lee Ingleby (Hollom), and John DeSantis (Padeen). And what shall we do with the drunken sailors, what shall we do.

World Sauntering Day celebration is on the 19th June of every year. The purpose of the Sauntering day is to remind us to take it easy and smell the roses. It is celebrated to enjoy the life as opposed to the rushing through it. It is also sometimes referred to as the International Sauntering Day. Sauntering is a verb which describes the style of walking, It is not a sashay, trot, prance, o lollygag. It is just to walk slowly preferably with the joyful disposition. The Exact origin of the day is unclear, but it is credited to have begun at the Grand Hotel, which is located in Mackinac Island in Michigan. It happened during the 1970s. Lady Mechanika Sangre #2
Tumblr media
Lady Mechanika Sangre #2 Joe Benitez Productions 2019 Written by M.M. Chen & Joe Benitez Illustrated by Brian Ching, Joe Benitez & Martin Montiel Inks by Studio J-13 Coloured by Beth Sotelo Lettered by Michael Heisler     While on the hunt for a dangerous killer haunting the Spanish countryside, Lady Mechanika must also solve a peculiar mystery: who - or what - is La Madrina? Features a main story by guest artist Brian Ching (Supergirl, Star Wars) and a prologue story drawn by Joe Benitez and Martin Montiel.     Every single time an issue of this comes out I get extremely excited. Somewhere along the way, more than likely with the first issue I read, I fell in love with this character and her quest. So while her personal answers have to yet to be answered or even come close she has been able to find a place in this world. In her new role she constantly finds herself up against people and beings that only her unique physiology seems capable of handling. Detective, protector of the innocent and driven to finish what she starts Lady Mechanika is from top to bottom one of the best series, of arcs, in comics and she's the best female lead around.     The prologue here is gorgeously done. I love how intriguing it is and seeing how, where and why the beginnings of this demon, whom we've yet to see, got it's start. The location is perfect as is the era in which it's set so that we see that perhaps there are answers to what happened to those people only we've not been able to find graves or anything else because well read the book and see for yourself.     I am a huge fan of the pacing here and how it takes the story & plot development and the character development and wraps them around and through each intricately while providing both solid story and action moments. I love Chen she is an absolutely thrilling writer to follow and she and Joe really keep developing Lady Mechanika so that she's constantly evolving, growing and becoming even more formidable. This is how you do it too, you want you audience to see that your character doesn't stop evolving and growing otherwise the stagnation will kill off your readership. At the same time this book has this great intelligence and smarts to the writing and dialogue and it really makes the reader think and become engaged in what they are reading. Going off script, and or page, is a wonderful thing because it helps the reader learn, grow and use their minds in ways they might not even notice they are doing.     So the interiors here are bloody stellar! The opening from Joe and company is to quote Tina, simply the best. The way we see the linework utilised to create the attention to detail and how that extend and incorporates the backgrounds yeah. Brian unfortunately isn't as skilled at utilising backgrounds as Joe and you notice that which is kind of a shame because he too has some mad skills and talent. His linework that we see through all the varying weights and how that creates the attention to detail that we see is good stuff. Plus when we see La Dama De La Muerta in action that is totally a wow factor as the movements are so well executed in creating the motion and how it makes the reader feel. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a strong, talented eye for storytelling. The colour work is amazing and how we see light sources utilised to create the shading and shadows through colour blocking and tones is extremely well executed.      As the story continues and we see the twists, turns and revelations unfold before us you can feel all of this in your bones. This really is one of the best of the best and if you haven't checked this out you definitely need to do yourself the favour and find it now to see what I am talking about.
