also, i really find it interesting how people can genuinely go about saying "Well this group isn't attacked for their identity so they can't be queer " while then turning around and. attacking said group. for their identity. and exemplifying classic __-phobic tropes. It's really dumb. You are being the thing that you claim does not exist

hang on. there’s no way we’re revitalizing “are [cishet] aro people queer” discourse. it is almost 20-fucking-24. no. say sike right now. you’re all fucking ridiculous. how are we not only not over this, but bringing it up for active discourse again. and acting like the things being said are common discussion and not. blatant aphobia. which is homophobia. it’s queerphobia. did we never fucking learn from the many “they want us to fight amongst ourselves because if we’re divided it’s easier to ruin us” type talks that everyone was making a while ago. or was that a phase too. what happened to “anything not heteronormative is what queer is. anything with romance/sex/gender that’s othered from what society deems the “norm” is what we are. we are a community of outcasts because the greater community doesn’t want us either way.” what the shit.

"Messages of support are nice but there is no support needed. I'm just not having fun, the event is really not made for me, I can't force myself to play when all I've got the past 3 days is repeated negativity and barely got any funny moment with anyone on the server when normally I spend my time laughing on it lmao.
So there's nothing, let me think/come up with a way to have fun and I will stream QSMP again once I find it again, but streaming this for now just makes me SUPER sad so it's useless !
No complaint on my part I'm just in [he never finished that sentence lol], understand that you're watching content on the Internet for entertainment purposes and to be happy, not to watch someone tilt 24/7 !!!!!! :D
(Tubbo and BBH played really well, the event is encouraging playing like this to have better stuff so sending them hate is completely idiotic)"

I don’t want to say this where this comment was added because while it was rb’ed from me, the root post isn’t mine and I don’t want to drag op in a circus tent. Do we really need to put homophobic on the highest shelf up from the tik tok folks?
This is about Kethric and ????? Homophobic coded??? Statistically and logically speaking, there are going to be queer people that you do not get along with and that you don't like in real life. That's just the way people are. And it's not because we're queer, it's because we're human
Kethric doesn’t hate Aylin because she’s a lesbian. He despises her because she is the child of Selûna, because he believes that she corrupted Isobel - not with queer cooties but with the love of a goddess who he felt betrayed him
If Aylin was a man, the hatred would not be diluted at all

tbh i think that even unwinnable fights should be winnable. some of the BEST fights i've ever run as a dm were ones i built kill the players (in a fun way. I had some cutscenes prepped so even the loss would be a different flavour of win)- but then they were clever bastards and managed to either win the fights or pull themselves out of trouble. I think it's perfectly fine to plan for a fight that players aren't supposed to win, but you need to let them. if they can't win, they can't lose, and the meaning of that encounter is diminished. do that too many times, and they stop trusting you to give them roleplay prompts and start expecting to sit there waiting while you drive the story for them.
but if they can win... if there is always the chance to win, no matter how impossible the odds, then they ALWAYS have hope. they always get invested. they feel the big emotions of success or the big emotions of failure, and you fucking Win as a dm/roleplay prompter/lead bastard.

I started replaying fire emblem: path of radiance earlier this week after recently really only playing modern (awakening onward) FE for the past 5 years and it's really hitting home for me how much of modern fe's script is taken up by useless minutiae. camp conversations in por are the thing really hitting it for me. In more recent fe games, there's a lot of little bits of dialogue in the between-level hub but it rarely ever adds to our understanding of a character or interact with the story. It's just there because the characters are in the hub and therefore they need a sentence or two to say to the protag.
meanwhile path of radiance has these wonderful little conversations in the camp. they're not all like, peak fiction or anything but they almost always deliver on short nuggets of story that let you know how specific characters are reacting to what's going on in the story, or otherwise just something about them. I can count on my hands the amount of moments in three houses and engage where characters outside of the "main cast" of those games actually react to story events but they're doing it left and right in path of radiance.
this, along with the fact that most characters only have 3-5 supports means that the characters all feel sharper, more present, and like they're a part of the story. I'm not gonna pretend that every character in por is a masterful study or anything but even the weak characters in por feel less annoying than some of the strongest characters in three houses or engage because they're just inserted into the world more elegantly.
so much of the dialogue in the newer games just feels superfluous by comparison. xander doesn't have checks notes 12 romantic supports because the devs/writers felt that he as a character needed that much fleshing out. he has them because they needed him to have that many girls to kiss for the eugenics mechanics to work! part of the reason why characters in the newer games feel significantly more one note in comparison is that they're stretched thin. there's so much pointless shit they have to say, decided by quota before the writers even got their hands on the characters and it all builds up into a weaker end product
anyway this has been one elitist whinging about the new games that I like less

i also genuinely don't understand the hatred for the tubbo hole? not only because no one has a problem with felps' square, but also because the two people who hate it the most have done so much worse AT SPAWN, while tubbo chose a bunch of chunks no one was using, asked permission for it and then went on with his plan? also he keeps telling people that everyone will be able to access it and take things from it, that is very much a thing he wants to do? there are bigger things to complain about on the islan

I don’t understand the people who are trying to suggest Vax loves Vex any lesser than Keyleth. The twins entire arc was about becoming people independent of each other. You cannot deny that the animosity between Keyleth and Vex has always been there from the start. Yes, Vex hated on her for being naive and childish and for “taking Vax away from her” but Vex got over that quickly once she realized how much Keyleth meant to Vax the same way Percy meant to her. It’s canon that the twins are identical and look exactly alike and that plays a major part in the rift because for such a long time Vax and Vex were identified as The Twins and nothing else but that. Where one goes, the other follows. It wasn’t until Percy and Keyleth loved them that that started to splinter. Finally able to live their own lives. Vax started building a life he knew would end one day in Zephrah for that 1 year, Percy and Vex worked on Whitestone and their relationship and even got married in secrecy. When they were going through that Library there was a moment Vax leaned his head on Kiki’s shoulder as they overheard Scanlan find out about Percy and Vex’s union that both Vax and Keyleth knew “we’ll never get that.”
AND THAT’S the animosity I see that’s happening in C3 with Vox Machina. Of course Keyleth’s been angry for 30 years. Of course it took her a long time to find the right place to put it. Look at how angry she got when Percy and Vex’s wedding was attacked, or when Percy lost an arm rescuing Grog and her lashing out saying “I guess I’ll bring that back.” She went YEARS! 20ish Years being a new leader of the Air Ashari only for her mother to walk back home to her out of the fucking blue. So if her mom can come back, why can’t Vax? She had those Ravens sent to her every day because she needed them more then Vex did. Keyleth was a new leader, standing alone to protect and govern the Air Ashari. Vex had Percy. She had those Rogue levels from Vax’s training. Percy and Vex started having kids. They got to name those kids after their lost loved ones. After Vax.
So of course Keyleth is angry and it may be a bit hard to understand why she may not be so open with Percy and Vex anymore because during campaign 1 before the harsh reality set in, they all did get along. But now…every time she visits Whitestone she can’t help but see what was stolen from her “we’ll never get that” echos in the back of her mind still true to this day. And visiting really is on Keyleth’s terms considering she’s the one who can walk through trees at her will.
I mean Vex was excited to see Keyleth when Bells Hells mentioned her and was bummed she missed out on that. Vex didn’t need the Ravens every night because she had other notes of love sent to her from Vax like every time she looks at her children, or Trinket, or their sister Velora. Vex gets to grow old with Percy, while there may be a bit of a difference and Percy will one day die on Vex, they will get to make SO many memories that Keyleth never will. They aren’t Legendary Party Heroes anymore. They are politicians with civilians and people to protect and it’s natural they may not be able to catch up for brunch every week with their different livelihoods. Especially considering how their opinions on Gods has changed since Vex took up being Pelor’s champion. How can Keyleth help Percy invent magical items like Diplomacy anymore when he gets to go home at the end of the day to his champion and she doesn’t. How is it fair he gets to caress her face and listen to her voice and love her so openly and expressively but she can’t. Keyleth will live to be about 1500, but that doesn’t mean your memory will linger as you do too. Has she already forgotten Vax’s touch, his voice speaking her name?
And now this. And now their love is abused by some asshole who doesn’t know anything but how to manipulate love. She can’t even discuss with people who Vax is to her because he’s a champion of the Matron of Ravens. And she sees those Ravens every damn day. That was the ONE thing she had of him that was hers and only hers. And now someone has the audacity to take that from her too. Yeah. She gets to be pissed. She gets to have her fair share of animosity against Vex and Percy because you know what? Vex wouldn’t need Vax to come save her from death, Percy would already be there to prevent it ever getting that close. Keyleth needed Vax because he was the only one who legitimately could have saved her in that moment. Y’know why? Because Keyleth is the type of person who knows what it’s like to grow up without a mother and she wouldn’t do that to Vex’s kids, she would never want to place her into harms way and that is why she showed up at the site alone with the Ashari as her primary force. Yes, it was to stop whatever was happening, but also it was because someone was using the symbology of Ravens and her thoughts weren’t of the Matron, but of Vax. And now the perch is empty.

Ngl, I’m actually pretty uncomfortable reading my old posts defending the goodness of the common people and their right to defend themselves—as persecuted groups or as individuals—from hierarchical tyranny, given how easily in this current irl moment a not-insignificant amount of people have fallen into supporting an active genocide, because I cannot separate this from how much pushback I got (and still sometimes get) for being consistent in my politics

I have no real desire to get involved in ship wars (And really, this isn't about shipping), nor do I want to argue over what I would/wouldn't like to be canon. I stick to enjoying what I enjoy with fellow freaks on the internet and leave everyone else to it...
But I must admit, it's slightly disappointing to read some of the takes disguised as feminist when in reality, they are arguably quite harmful and seemingly rooted in misogyny which are being shared around.
Women being in love does not "cheapen" their stories.
Women can be powerful characters and still be in love.
A woman being in love does not make her weak or any less powerful.
Women can be fully-fledged, powerful and 'badass' characters and still be in love.
If you think a 'powerful' woman having a romantic relationship makes her weak, it kind of seems like because falling in love and romance are seen as feminine, you actually just think a woman's femininity makes her weak...
I really wish there could be an acceptance that women can be both strong, powerful, intelligent and in love. Women do not have to choose, in life or in fiction. And there is rarely the same attitude when it comes to male characters. I never see anyone say that being in love would make a strong, independent man weak.
Anyway, I personally think that female characters who have been through horrible things deserve a happy ending and it does not weaken them to allow them to have a romantic partner. Being strong is exhausting and having someone there when they need a break after a busy day of being a girlboss is totally understandable, healthy and acceptable.
In conclusion, let powerful women fall in love!!!

It is truly fascinating how the common tumblr narrative around John and Paul somehow makes the guy who literally got violent multiple times over people insinuating he was queer appear more "on board with the whole gay thing" than the guy who said some awkward/dated stuff in interviews a couple of times.

Just need to say this: Being a fan of someone does not mean worshiping them blindly, but neither does it mean dragging and canceling them because they do not agree with your exact worldview. Being a fan means being honest about who someone is...including the parts you might not always like. It means knowing that they are as likely to make mistakes and hold imperfect views as anyone else, but that does not make them incapable of changing and evolving. And it means seeing the person as a whole, flawed human being, not just as the version of themselves that you find acceptable.
