For some unholy reason, I really want to see a ‘poker night oneshot’ for Worm.
All the main factions of Brockton Bay show up for poker night - at Somer’s Rock, probably - and all the members at the table are cheating judiciously.
All gangs/groups can elect one member. Coil is Coil, the Undersiders seek to cheat judiciously with Tattletale’s powers, Gregor and Oni Lee have impeccable poker-faces, Kaiser is too arrogant to not play even with Victor’s powers, Skidmark is too Skidmark to not be there himself, Brandish browbeats New Wave into letting it be her, and Assault invites himself to the table and smiles cheerily.
Let me repeat that: poker with Coil, Tattletale, Gregor the Snail, Oni Lee, Kaiser, Skidmark, Brandish, and Assault, all at the same table. Oh, and maybe Gallant if Assault was out on patrol with the tin-clad boy and gets dragged into the match, because that would be the funniest Ward to drop into the mess.
(Clockblocker would just have fun; Gallant is going to be out of his depth.)
And just...imagine it.

Summoning Game Show 2
Masterpost
“Okay! You guys are from an Earth right?”
The bat brothers glance at each other before they all start nodding.
“Cool cool. If you need to stretch or warm up, I suggest doing that during the following explanation” Danny watches as Nightwing does start doing light stretches. Not too much, but Dick knows he’s still pretty loose from the fight before falling through the portal, so he’s just making sure he’s still warm. “So, human version of the obstacle course is timed, you have to finish 7 obstacles in under 10 minutes. You can get creative with the obstacles, have fun with it. The only rules are no flying, no intangibility, and no breaking anything! I will be doing some announcing to the best of my ability so don’t let me distract you. There will be no one else in the room with you, so if you’re confused by an obstacle or get hurt and need to stop or something just shout for us. When you’re ready the obstacle course is through the Door with the big number 1 on it. Your time starts when the door opens, so be ready.”
Danny takes a moment, tapping his finger to his chin. “That’s about everything I think. Any questions?” He smiles brightly at Nightwing.
“Uh, no thank you.” Nightwing stops stretches and starts heading for the door.
“Give us a moment and we’ll let you know when you can start!” Danny shouts after him., then turns to the rest of them. “Since you’re not participating in this round, you all come up and sit on the stage.” Three chairs almost instantly appear behind Danny and once the boys are all on the stage a large screen appears along the entire front edge of the platform. The screen is blank at the moment. “Is everybody ready?” Danny looks behind him to get nods from the boys sitting in their chairs, then turns to the ghosts to make sure everything was running smoothly, then to Nightwing who nods at Danny. A timer appears in the upper left corner of the screen, and on top of the door in front of Nightwing. “Okay Nightwing, you can go when you’re ready.”
Nightwing opens the door, quickly walking through and surveying the scene, the course is walled so he can only see what’s in front of him which looks like a military wall, It has a sign the says “Obstacle 1’ on it, and has a rope climb which he climbs to the top of quickly.
“Making quick work of The Wall, and moving on to Parkour, the test of speed and balance.” Danny comments.
Danny and the boys watch him climb on the screen in front of them, the camera panning to give a view of what he sees as he makes it to the top of the wall. “Obstacle 2’ is a nice speed jump course, mostly angled platforms and ledges and Nightwing jumps from one to the other easily, heading downhill. All lower body so far, but he’s approaching ‘Obstacle 3’, - “The Bars, to test upper body and grip strength!” - is what appears to be monkey bars, but the fifteen bars are all at different lengths from each other. Instead of a ladder, there’s a trampoline to help him reach the first bar, but Nightwing has to do a quick double take when he sees what's below the monkey bars.
“What is that?” Nightwing asks, and it echoes strangely to the audience in the other room.
Danny doesn’t really know why he stopped. “Safety feature! Didn’t want you falling onto concrete or something, it’s just a pool.”
The pool is a green that is very familiar to the brothers and that they have been seeing a lot of since coming through the portal.
“Is your safety feature actually safe for humans?” Red asks at the same time Nightwing goes: “Are you telling me that is your version of water?”
Nightwing, despite his slight reluctance, has started on the monkey bars, doing a great job making his way across.
“It’s kind of radioactive to humans actually, but this part of the Infinite Realms doesn’t have any actual water.” Danny almost wants to laugh at the look on the boy's faces when he says ‘radioactive’. “It is a safety feature, so it won’t kill anyone, but depending on how much exposure there is there might be some side effects.”
“Gee, that’s just great.” Hood mutters.
Nightwing reaches the last ring of the monkey bars, which leads to a small trapeze bar which he takes with glee, swinging right over to ‘Obstacle 4’, a large net wall, and transferring on. Instead of taking the time to climb over the net, he just wiggles through one of the holes to the other side.
“Hey, nice one, that saved you some time!” Danny exclaimed.
Nightwing reaches ‘Obstacle 5’, what looks like a ropes course mixed in with a laser grid. There are small floating platforms in various locations, interspersed with ropes in every possible direction, some just dangling, some with clear climbing knots that can help reach the platforms, and some that are just in the way blocking the clearest jumps and paths across. There’s five minutes left on his clock.
“The floating grid!” Danny announces. “Main test for agility and problem solving!”
When Nightwing reaches the last floating platform he’s able to step right onto solid ground again, there’s a wall in front of him, the only way through looking to be a hole at ground level. “Obstacle 6, the crawl! We looked into a mud crawl, but nobody wanted to bring in mud for it, so it’s just a regular crawl.” Danny shrugs lightly. “I hope you’re not claustrophobic!” Nightwing lowers himself and starts to crawl into the hole. It’s longer than he thought, and once he’s inside his body is blocking all light into it, he can’t see where it ends. It is a good thing he’s not claustrophobic, Dick thinks to himself as he reaches a slant, starting to crawl up now. At least in this direction he can see light again.
As he crawls out of the tunnel he sees that he has two minutes left to do the last obstacle, and he gets back up to his feet and stops.
“Obstacle 7, the jump pit!” Danny claps lightly. “This is my favorite.”
Nightwing is standing on a very high ledge and there’s a pit beneath him. The pit is filled with what he assumes are foam shapes, like the pits you land in when attempting new tricks in a trampoline park or gymnastics center. Nightwing takes another second to look down at the pit, he is so high up. “It’s soft down there right? I’m supposed to jump in there?” His voice is quiet, as normal as heights have gotten for him the idea of falling so far is making him freeze a bit.
“Yes, it’s a soft landing. The pit is a safe depth and filled with cushioning, you just have to jump in and get to the platform at the end.” Danny explains.
Nightwing knows crawling through the foam shapes is difficult and time consuming and he glances back at the clock to see 1:39 and jumps before he can think about it any more.
He does land safely, hearing Danny’s whoop come from the speaker as he falls. He is running out of time as he reaches the end of the pit, but he manages to crawl out onto the platform and the clock stops as he takes a break to lay there.

how do oyu draw scvaenegrs theyre soooo shaped i love them....
GYAHAHAHA!!!!!!! TUTORIAL TIME!!!!!!
Tumblr media
first things first! basic anatomy!
These guys are somewhat monkey-shaped. They have deep chests, long arms, and short legs. They usually move by knuckle-walking, using their arms to swing their legs forward as if they're using crutches.
Scavs have eartlers (which i think are technically horns lol), funny whiskers/sensory frills, and frills/quills on their backs. I also give them ears because I think it looks cute.
A note about their tails: scav tails vary in length (many are tailless), and their tails are thinner than slugcat tails. I imagine their tails aren't as important for balance as it is for slugcats.
Tumblr media
From the side, my scavengers have sorta egg-shaped heads; they don't have a very prominent snout. They do, however, have some gnarly teeth - baboon like, but better suited for carnivory? Idk honestly
Scavs have long, 3-fingered hands and 2-toed feet. Some scavengers have a third toe on their feet, but it's vestigial. Their palms/soles are hairless for better gripping and are usually lighter than the surrounding fur.
Tumblr media
Variations!!! Scavs are super diverse and I highly recommend taking many screenshots of them. I didn't draw anything for elite scavengers here.
Horns range from nubs to large branches. Some scavengers have horns on their cheeks as well as on the top of their heads.
Whiskers can range from being absent to looking like beards.
Scavenger eyes range in size, narrowness, and angle. Pupils can be absent, dark-colored, or light-colored.
For colors, scavengers are usually gray or brown with darker points. Light and bright-colored scavs are unusual but they do appear!
Proportions and quills vary, and that can have some hilarious results. I've seen scavengers with stick-thin arms, others with tons of big quills, etc.
Scavenger body language is pretty complex. I recommend checking the wiki and watching them in-game to study how they move and act. Their quills do seem to be an important part of how they communicate, since frightened or startled scavengers vibrate their quills!
Hopefully this stuff is helpful!

Kaiju's and Blankets
!!!Season 4 Special Spoilers are in this fic!!!
Summary: MK gets sick, and gets stuck in kaiju form as a result. Everything else that spirals from that point is nobody else's fault but Wukong's. (Who is DEFINITELY not sick, thank you very much).

“MK are you… sure you’re okay to run deliveries today?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?”
“Well…” Pigsy trailed off, uncertain, looking up and down at MK’s rather… unkempt appearance today, as well as noting how almost hoarse the kid’s voice sounded, watching as MK’s smile despite these facts remained unchanged- even as his whole body jolted as he flickered with a golden glitch. “You’re doing the thing.”
“What thing? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” MK glitched again, reaching behind himself just in time to grab his monkey tail as it appeared, holding it behind his back in an attempt to keep it out of view- an attempt that severely failed as Pigsy leveled him with concerned look, Mei even looking up from her phone game to raise her eyebrow at his actions. He sniffled, raising his free arm and rubbing his nose on the back of his sleeve, grabbing the takeout bags afterwards, partially disguising it as a more casual movement. “Aaaaanyways- I’ll just be out delivering these! Won’t even take that long! Be back soon!”
Both Pigsy and Mei watched in concerned silence as MK walked backwards out of the restaurant, giving the both of them a rather sloppy salute before turning off and sprinting down the street, leaving cracks in the pavement behind him- albeit he didn’t seem to notice. Mei sighed, pocketing her phone.
“He’s going to pass out, isn’t he.” She deadpanned, Pigsy nodding solemnly in agreement with her assessment. She stood up, stretching her arms above her head and rolling her shoulders, loosening up her muscles.
“You’d better go after him, Mei.”
“Already on it, Mr. Pig Dad Sir!” Mei bent down, getting into a ready to run position-
Only to be thrown off balance as it was like the entire world shook, the building trembling, a sound similar to an explosion resounding as both her and Pigsy got tossed into the air from the force. Mei, thankfully, oriented herself to land on her feet- using a touch of dragon power to zoom into the kitchen and catch as many objects as she could before they could shatter on the ground.
Pigsy wasn’t nearly so lucky, instead slamming down onto the floor, the wind getting knocked out of him. He remained on the floor, taking a moment to catch his breath, before groaning as he slowly pushed himself up, Mei quickly setting her objects on the counter and rushing over to give him a hand.
“What was that?!” He wheezed, giving Mei a pat on the shoulder as thanks before making his way towards the door. Before he could get there however, Tang was suddenly there, appearing in a golden flash of light, staff in hand and looking frazzled and panicked, not even letting Pigsy or Mei get a word out before he spoke.
“You guys are going to want to see this.”
With no further explanation, he slammed his staff on the ground, both Pigsy and Mei shielding their eyes, closing them against the light as they felt the now-familiar sensation of teleportation. When they opened them again, they both blinked, taking in the absolute destruction.
There were buildings that were literally flattened, pressed down against the ground- a few fires starting up in the remains of some of them. Thankfully, there had long since been a magic system put in place to automatically teleport people in danger out of the way in the case of possible natural disasters, and most of this space was an area that had been abandoned since Spider Queen’s attack the previous year, so there wasn’t that much concern about civilians, but.
There was a giant crater in the ground that most certainly had not been there before, one that they were currently standing at the very edge of.
And, at the middle of the crater, standing awkwardly at the exact center of all the destruction, with his tails swishing nervously… was MK.
In kaiju form.
“Well,” Mei put her hands on her hips, “That’s less than ideal.”
“You’re telling me.” All three of them jumped as Sandy suddenly appeared out of nowhere behind them, staring at MK with obvious concern. “He told me last night that he was just coming down with a little cold.”
“Yeah, I don’t think it’s very little anymore.” Pigsy sighed in exasperation, stepping forwards, about to jump down into the crater and approach MK, planning on lecturing him about the importance of not hiding illnesses again-
“Ah- wait!” Tang grabbed the back of Pigsy’s clothes, pulling him back towards him.
Just in time it seemed, as MK suddenly twitched, all three of his tails coming to a complete standstill as he inhaled, turning to the side to face more towards the uninhabited part of town-
Another sound like an explosion went off, and Tang just barely managed to get a shield up in time to protect them from the resulting shockwave as MK’s entire kaiju body jerked forwards.  The ground shook, and all of them stumbled, barely remaining standing, a cloud of debris getting kicked up as more houses were flattened.
It was only when the dust finally settled that Mei fully processed what had just happened.
“Was that a sneeze?” She asked, as the shield slowly flickered away. “He did all this with just a sneeze???”
“It… appears so.” Tang said.
Mei wasn’t entirely sure if that was cool, or mildly scary.
After a moment of deliberation, she settled on it being concerning. Something like that couldn’t be good for MK’s health, obviously. (Even if his power level being well over what must be 9,000 was awesome as all hell).
“Yeah… I hate to say it, but I think we’re going to need Monkey King’s help on this one.” Pigsy crossed his arms, thinking. “Now, the only question is… how do we get a kaiju to Flower Fruit Mountain?”
The words “Flower Fruit Mountain” seemed to have somehow managed to catch MK’s attention, as he turned towards them, seemingly only just now noticing they were there, as his tails and fur stood up on end in what could only be best interpreted as shock at their presence. In mere seconds, he had crossed over to stand in front of them, kneeling down on the ground to be closer to eye level with them- the ground slightly shaking with the motion.
He looked… apologetic, a tiny noise akin to a whine escaping from him- Pigsy wasn’t even sure if he could speak like this- based on Macaque, he probably should be able to, but then again, Pigsy had never seen a sick Macaque kaiju (and, quite frankly, never wanted to). Still though, he gave his best disappointed stare up at him, MK shrinking back a little.
“Yeah yeah, I know all your excuses, kid. Right now, let's just focus on getting you out of kaiju form- don’t think you’ve escaped the lecture though.” He hastily added on the end upon seeing MK start to look slightly hopeful. MK, in response, slumped a little, his tails and ears drooping. “Do not give me the puppy dog eyes, kid. We’ve got, for lack of a better word, bigger problems right now.”
MK let out a small rumbling chuckle- and then instantly turned to the side to cough into his arm, the ground shaking again, but Pigsy focused less on his sudden loss of balance and instead on how… painful it sounded. Maybe that’s why MK wasn’t talking, he had sounded quite hoarse earlier, maybe it hurt more to speak now.
Either way…
“We need to get you to Flower Fruit Mountain.” Tang finished Pigsy’s thought before he could even speak it. “Albeit… I’m not entirely sure how. Sandy’s boat is way too small, and I’m not sure that I can teleport you when you’re like… this.”
MK tilted his head to the side, seemingly in contemplation. And then, a very familiar smirk appeared on his kaiju face.
Pigsy knew what that smirk meant.
It meant trouble.
“Kid, I swear-” Pigsy didn’t get the chance to finish that sentence, as, without any form of warning, MK was reaching down, scooping all four of them up into one hand.
Pigsy and Tang’s matching screams were nearly drowned out by the sound of Mei’s loud enthusiastic cheering.
MK slowly and carefully stood up, holding his hand close to his chest to help keep his hand stable as he slowly started walking his way out of the city, keeping a close eye on where he put his feet. Pigsy, subtly, used the opportunity to check the kid for fever- albeit, like this, with MK in this form, he couldn’t really tell. MK felt a little warm, but he had no idea what the normal for a kaiju even was.
It was only when they reached the beach- and MK just kept going, stepping into the ocean, that Pigsy realized what MK was planning to do.
“MK, this really isn’t the best idea, you’re just going to-”
“Make myself more sick?”
All four of them startled as MK’s voice came out in basically a whisper from behind them.
Turning around, they could barely make out the form of MK, in monkey form, hovering inside of his kaiju, where the heart would reside. His position perfectly mirrored his kaiju’s completely, his legs moving in tandem with it- almost like he was controlling a mech. He was looking down, and it took Pigsy a moment to realize that it was because his kaiju was looking down at them- MK must only be able to see through his kaiju’s eyes, then.
“I don’t think what happens in this form can really transfer to my physical state.” MK continued, voice somehow, despite being in a hoarse whisper, still sounding far more energetic than a sick person should sound. “I can’t even feel the water around my feet!”
Pigsy huffed.
“If this comes back to bite you, do not come complaining to me.” He mumbled.
The rest of the trip through the ocean was slightly slow, but mostly peaceful. (There was one point, where MK had sneezed again, accidentally dropping them in the process as he turned away from them, but thankfully, Mei had been fast enough to snatch them up in her dragon form before they could hit the water. MK had, softly, apologized as they were settled back into his hand, to which Mei threatened to steal all his copies of the Monkey Mech game if he dropped them again. MK had whined about it for the following 15 minutes).
When they reached Flower Fruit Mountain, MK stood still on the beach for a moment too long, the others turning back to him in concern.
“...I swear, you better not be about to sneeze again.” Mei threatened. There was a moment where MK didn’t respond-
And then they were all clinging to his hand as MK gave a full body shake, kicking both his legs, sending water droplets flying everywhere to the beach below.
It was only when they were steady again that Mei let out a strangled laugh.
“You’re like a dog!”
MK pointedly avoided looking at them.
“...I tried not to.” He mumbled, “Instinct took over…”
Mei cackled at him, MK finally looking back down at them with a pout. Pigsy rolled his eyes.
It took far faster than usual to climb the mountain up to the waterfall that led to Wukong’s recently rebuilt house, mainly due to MK not needing to take nearly as many steps. He gently lowered his hand to the ground, allowing the others to step off, before reaching out a finger, placing it in the water to split it in two, allowing a path of access through it.
It was only when all four of them had crossed through it that MK let out a distressed sound, causing them to turn back around to face him.
There was a beat, before they realized the issue.
“Oh.” Tang said, “You can’t fit.”
There was a slightly louder distressed noise. Sandy stepped back to the other side of the waterfall, patting MK on the side of the leg.
“Don’t worry MK, I’m sure Mr. King will have something that will, at the least, make you a little smaller!! I’ll just stay out here with you while the others go in, if that’s okay?”
MK glanced back at Pigsy.
“We won’t be long, kid.” He affirmed, and MK gave him a nod, before slowly pulling his hand back, the flow of the water once more slamming down and obscuring him and Sandy from view. Pigsy turned back to Mei and Tang. “Alright- sooner we get Monkey King out here, the better.”
Sun Wukong was not sitting out anywhere in his cave, unlike previous times that they had shown up unexpectedly. They would normally stumble upon him lounging on a sunlit rock or a shaded tree branch, usually either eating or reading something or other. Sometimes Pigsy wondered if he ever got up to much else (outside of training MK, that is).
Mei, the fastest of the three of them, zoomed right up the steps to Wukong’s house to knock.
“Mr.King!! We need your help!!” She called-
There was a loud crash from inside the house, and all three of them winced. A few seconds later, the door opened, Wukong panting like he had run to them, looking slightly panicked.
“What’s- what’s going on- where’s the kid?”  He looked around frantically.
“He’s sick-” Mei started, having to stop mid-sentence to avoid biting her tongue as Wukong grabbed her shoulders and started shaking her.
“Sick? Sick like- dying sick? Does he need a peach??? I can go steal a peach for him-” Wukong let go of Mei, the dragon girl stumbling back to be out of his reach as he turned to try and move off his front porch, likely with the plan of stealing another immortal peach in mind. Tang and Pigsy stepped in his way before he could.
“The kid’s not dying, Monkey King.” Pigsy reached out to try and calm the monkey down, Wukong side-stepping away from his touch, but still pausing. “He’s just got a cold.”
“...Oh. Well, y’know, even mortal colds can be deadly-”
“It won’t be.”
“...Okay… Then what do you need my help for?” Wukong tilted his head to the side, staring at them in confusion as he leaned back against the wall of his house, “I’m not exactly the best when it comes to medicine nowadays- it used to be so much simpler when you could just use a flower and a spell.”
Tang mumbled something about having to teach the Monkey King about the advancements of modern medicine, and Pigsy sighed.
“The kid’s gone all super-kaiju on us.” He said, “He’s sitting outside the cave right now, we were hoping that… at the least, if you can’t turn him back to normal, you could at least make him… smaller?”
“Oh! Yeah, that’s easy.” Wukong smirked as he pushed off the wall, only to wince as it cracked behind him. “...Oops. Uh, I’ll fix that later, c’mon, let’s go see the kid.”
Pigsy and Tang instantly turned to start heading back towards the waterfall entrance, Wukong trailing behind them, Mei taking a split second to glance between the Monkey King and the crack in the wall with sudden suspicion before catching up to them, sliding to walk in time beside Wukong.
“Soooo, Mr. King. How’re you doing today?” She asked, leaning towards him slightly, raising an eyebrow as he leaned away, avoiding eye contact with her.
“I’m fine.” Wukong sped up a little, tail swishing as he moved around to be in front of Pigsy and Tang just in time as they arrived back at the waterfall. Reaching out, he activated the magic surrounding it, parting the waters before turning back towards them with an over-dramatic smirk, giving them a half-sarcastic little bow. “After you, guys!”
Pigsy and Tang simply rolled their eyes, walking forwards, but Mei made the point of making eye contact with the Monkey King as she walked past him, following it up with an ‘I’m watching you’ motion that made Wukong’s expression shift to one of nervousness, before he covered it up with a small laugh, stepping through the waterfall himself.
MK visibly brightened up when he saw them emerge from the waterfall, shifting to lean down towards them.
“Told you we wouldn’t be long, kid.” Pigsy said, lightly patting the side of MK’s face that he could reach. “...Where’s Sandy?”
“Right here!” Sandy popped up from MK’s shoulder, sliding down MK’s arm to be on the ground with the others. “MK was just letting me braid his hair while we waited.”
Sure enough, there were a few tiny braids throughout Kaiju MK’s hair- in all honesty, Pigsy was impressed that Sandy had managed to get so many of them done in such a short period of time.
“Right.” Wukong said, shaking out his hands and summoning his cloud, floating up to be able to touch the center of the kaiju’s forehead. “I… can’t say if I can change you back to normal, per say, but I’m pretty sure I can at the least get you small enough to be able to fit inside the mountain.”
There was a brief pause, and then Wukong’s eyes lit up gold, tendrils of magic swirling around the kaiju. There were a few small moments where the size of the kaiju fluctuated, getting smaller and then bigger again, followed by a bright flash of light that had the four on the ground shielding their eyes.
When they opened their eyes again, MK was much smaller than he was before. Still a giant kaiju, yes, but he’d be able to fit through the entrance if he crawled, and should be able to stand within the cave itself no problem.
“Well, at least that’s one problem solved…” Pigsy trailed off into a mumble, “We’re definitely going to need to find a bigger soup bowl somewhere though…”
“...Why aren’t they moving?” Mei questioned, and Pigsy looked back up to find that MK and Wukong seemed to have entered… some kind of staring contest, both of their tails swishing.
A full minute passed, the four on the ground waiting in complete silence, trying to figure out what was going on.
…And then MK raised a hand, snatched Wukong off his cloud, and slammed his palm onto the ground, sending up a small splash of water that the others only just managed to avoid as he pinned Wukong to the ground in the shallow pond.
“Kid!!! What are you doing?!?!” Tang yelled, as Wukong let out a wheezing breath-
And immediately broke into a loud coughing fit, the others watching as Wukong’s whole form seemed to flicker before restabilizing. Mei let out a loud gasp, pointing at him.
“Ohhhh- I knew there was something up with you!” She said, “You’re sick too!!”
“I am not!” Wukong managed to hiss out, before starting to struggle, using his free hand to smack at MK’s fingers, his one free leg kicking uselessly in the air. “Let me go!!”
MK didn’t move, and although his expression didn’t visibly change, everyone could just feel the tangible disappointment coming off of him.
It didn’t take very long for Wukong to give in, suddenly going limp in MK’s hold.
“Fine, kid. You win.” He let out an overdramatic world weary sigh, flickering again, only this time, once the flickering died down… well, to say it politely, he looked like an absolute mess. His fur, albeit now soaked with water, looked completely frazzled, like he hadn’t brushed it before getting out of bed that morning, there were dark circles under his eyes, and his face was slightly flushed. Pigsy would, honestly, be willing to say that he looked worse-off than MK did.
MK, in response to his mentor letting down his glamours, let out a somewhat-pleased sound, removing his hand, freeing Wukong. Despite this, Wukong continued to lay there, staring up at the sky- his view of the clouds unfortunately blocked as Mei leaned over him, blocking his vision.
“Jeez, you look awful.” She said, reaching down to press the back of her hand against Wukong’s forehead.
“Thanks for the compliment.” He said, rolling his eyes. “I’m not sick though. Just didn’t sleep too well, that’s all!”
“Mhm, yeah, tell that to your fever.” Mei huffed, reaching down to grab his arm, forcibly lifting him back up to his feet. Wukong, on instinct, shook, the water in his fur flying everywhere. “Hey!! You’re getting me wet!! Man, MK really did take after you a lot…”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh, nothing!” Mei gave him her best innocent smile, dragging him over in the direction of the others- MK having used his hand to reopen the waterfall and let the others through again. “C’mon, let’s get inside before Pigsy goes full chaos mom mode on you.”
“Goes full what-”
Twenty minutes later found Wukong pouting, sitting cross-legged on top of MK’s head, MK himself having laid down on his stomach, curling up slightly like a giant cat. Wukong had been practically forced to change into a pair of peach-themed pajamas Pigsy had happened to find after rummaging through the Monkey King’s closets- and had a blanket draped over his shoulders as well (he had just taken a dip in the water after all- they were better safe than sorry).
“I’m not sick.” He mumbled petulantly, MK reaching up and poking Wukong’s head as gently as he could with one finger in response, sending him slightly off balance to the side before he re-stabilized himself, grumbling incoherently.
“Hmm, we’ll have to find some kind of blanket for the kid eventually…” Pigsy said, rubbing his chin as he thought. “Albeit, unlike Monkey King, he doesn’t seem to have a fever yet, so we can probably hold off on that for a little longer…”
“Don’t have a fever! Cause I’m not sick!” Wukong called down from his position, everyone dutifully ignoring him.
“I would like to find some way to get some form of soup fed to MK though.” Pigsy finished, “Which means we’re… definitely going to need some kind of large bowl… albeit I can’t think of where we’d find something like that.”
“Oh! Oh! I know!!” Wukong waved his hands to get their attention, before pointing up. “The guys up there have tons of giant bowls you could take and use!!”
“...Isn’t that stealing?” Sandy asked, Wukong shaking his head.
“Naahhhh, they won’t even notice if one bowl’s gone. I can take you all you guys up there right now!!”
“Ah- wait!” Tang’s shout only barely managed to stop Wukong before he could snap his fingers. “You’re sick, you can’t be transporting a large group of people- nevermind a giant bowl.”
“Not sick.” Wukong said, sniffling, but still lowering his hand.
“But who could transport a giant bowl for us, as well as the ingredients?” Pigsy hummed, the group falling into silence as they thought it over.
“...What about Macaque? He’s got that shadow-portaling thingy.” Mei suggested- Wukong immediately bursting out into hoarse laughter, mixed with a few coughs. “What’s so funny?”
“Please, like Macaque would ever agree to that.” Wukong said.
“Well, it’s not like we have much of a choice…” Tang muttered, before raising his voice so that the others could hear. “Alright, but who’s going to stay behind with these two?”
There was silence for a beat, and then Wukong scoffed.
“We don’t need a babysitter.” He said, “I can keep an eye on the kid just fine- hEY!”
He was cut off as MK reached up, grabbing hold of Wukong’s tail, dangling his mentor upside down, the Monkey King scrambling to grab the blanket that had been wrapped around him and hold it close to his chest to prevent it from falling to the ground.
“I’ll keep an eye on Monkey King.” MK’s hoarse voice whispered, slowly swinging his mentor back and forth a few times, before setting him on the ground, lightly putting his hand overtop of him again when it seemed like Wukong was going to protest- Wukong instead accepting his fate, laying on the ground with a resigned expression.
“Well, with that settled… I guess we’re off to see Macaque!” Mei said, turning to stand beside Tang as he got ready to teleport them to Macaque’s dojo.
“He’s going to say no!” Wukong called, Pigsy waving him off.
“We’ll just see about that.”
-
“No. Absolutely not.” Macaque said, immediately, leaning up against his doorframe, raising one finger to silence them before any of them could even speak a word. “Wukong and the kid aren’t here. Which means that whatever this is about- because there must be something going on, this many of you wouldn’t be on my doorstep otherwise, this must be about them, and I want nothing to do with it.”
“How do you know there’s not some kind of world ending threat going on?” Mei asked, slowly pulling out her sword behind her back, where Macaque couldn’t see.
“Please, if there was a world ending threat, trust me, I would know.” Macaque huffed, crossing his arms. “Don’t think I didn’t notice the giant kaiju incident this morning, I’m not blind. I want nothing to do with it.”
“Really now? And nothing will change your mind?” Mei’s smirk slowly grew slightly more dangerous, Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy stepping slightly to the side, knowing full well to not get in her way.
“Nope. No way, no how.”
Within the next split second, there was a sword embedded in the doorframe, just bare inches away from Macaque’s face. Macaque let out a slightly fearful breath, a few stray pieces of hair that the sword had managed to snag slowly falling to the ground.
“That.” Mei hissed, “Is your only warning.”
Macaque, for his part, recovered rather quickly.
“...Nice aim, kid.” He muttered, before sighing. “Fiiinneee, I’ll help you out, but just this once- and you better pay me back for it. What do you need me to do?”
-
Wukong stared up at the ceiling of the mountain.
It had been twenty minutes since the others had teleported away, and they still weren’t back yet. Or, well, he thought it had been twenty minutes. He didn’t exactly have a clock on him. It had felt like it had been an hour, but he wasn’t really the best at keeping track of time, so he was going to guess that it had actually only been twenty minutes.
…Twenty minutes were far too long though.
Groaning, Wukong pushed himself up into a sitting position, MK opening up one eye to stare at him. Dang it, he’d been kinda hoping that the kid had fallen asleep since he had closed his eyes about… ten minutes ago? Yeah, ten minutes ago was probably a good guess.
“I’m bored.” Wukong’s voice trailed off into something that borderlined a whine. Quickly jumping to stand up, ignoring the way it made his head spin a little, Wukong turned to the kid. “Do you want to watch a movie? I can go get my laptop!”
MK let out a small rumble, opening his other eye to focus fully on Wukong.
“The screen would be too small for me.” Was his response, “I wouldn’t be able to see it.”
“Mmm, I guess you’re right…” Wukong trailed off, tapping his chin in thought. “Oh! We could set up a projector! Get a giant sheet, set up like a movie theatre screen! I’m pretty sure I have a projector around here somewhere…”
“What about the giant sheet, though?” MK asked, and Wukong paused, thinking.
And then a brilliant idea struck him.
“I can just steal some blankets from Demon Bull King’s house!” He said, moving from standing to sitting up, grabbing the blanket that was resting on his shoulders, tying the ends of it together to turn it into a blanket-cape. “Demon Bull King’s blankets are huge, if I get enough of them, we can probably use one or two to cover you as well!”
“Ah- but you’re sick-”
“Psh, I’m fine!” Wukong waved him off- and MK, unfortunately, was not fast enough to catch him, Wukong having summoned his cloud and zoomed out of the cave before the kid could even blink.
It was only when Wukong was halfway across the ocean that the thought struck his ever so slightly hazed mind that maybe leaving MK alone by himself might not be a very wise decision, but, well, he was already almost at his destination, so there was really no point in turning back now.
By the time he was climbing in through the Demon Bull Family’s kitchen window, carefully making sure that his blanke- his cape didn’t get caught, landing silently on the floor, he was right back around to considering this to be the most genius thing he had ever done.
“Right.” Wukong whispered to himself, clapping his hands together. “Now, if I were DBK, where would I put the blankets?”
Probably the hallway closet, most likely, which meant getting past all the traps that Demon Bull King likely had installed. Wukong sighed, about to open the hallway door-
Only to pause, noticing the coffee-maker sitting on the counter.
Now, Wukong wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, it was a little bit too bitter for him. But he remembered hearing that coffee-makers could also make hot chocolate… surely this one could too? He was kinda in the mood for a hot drink… and hot chocolate sounded really good right now…
Blanket retrieval mission temporarily on pause, Wukong started digging through the small box of insertable coffee’s that was sitting beside the coffee-maker, hoping to find one for hot-chocolate. And, sure enough, he managed to find one. Giggling slightly to himself, he inserted it into the machine, pressing the on button-
He was not expecting how loud it was.
“Ah, no- shh shh shhhhhhh!!” Wukong waved his hands, panicking. If Demon Bull King heard this and found him now, he’d never be able to get those blankets. Quickly, he started pressing buttons, but none of them would seem to turn the damn machine off.
Making a split second decision, Wukong reeled his arm back- and punched it.
He paused afterwards, slowly shaking his hand clean of the bits of debris as he stared at the destroyed coffee-machine.
…Ah. That probably hadn’t been his best decision.
Well, at least it was silent now. Carefully, he swept the broken pieces together, opening a cupboard with his foot and depositing it in there. Surely no-one would notice that. Or, well, at the very least, it wouldn’t be noticed until he was far away from here. Nooo consequences for the Great Sage, Equal To Heaven tonight!
Wiping his hands clean of the whole mess, Wukong turned, opening the door to the hallway, deciding to return his focus to his original mission; stealing some of Demon Bull King’s blankets.
After a minute or so of staring, analyzing the many traps lining the walls, he took a deep breath and went for it.
Dodging the traps largely went without issue, Demon Bull King seriously needed to update his home security. (Albeit, there had been a point where a couple of arrows had flown a little too close for comfort when Wukong had stumbled, a wave of dizziness hitting him, likely from the fever- the fever that he definitely didn’t have, yep, for sure, he was as healthy as a horse, definitely).
He had also been right, Demon Bull King did, in fact, store his blankets in the hallway closet. He did have a bit of a struggle getting them out of the closet- one of them falling over top of him and causing him to have to take a moment to free himself from it’s horrible confines, but he managed to get about three, giant blankets.
Three should be enough, right? One for the projector, and two for the kid. That worked.
Slowly making his way back to the kitchen, dragging the blankets behind him, Wukong froze mid-step in the hallway.
And then turned to the side and sneezed- completely obliterating the wall that had stood beside him.
He blinked, as the dust cleared- revealing Demon Bull King, Princess Iron Fan, and Red Son sitting on the other side, in their living room, staring at him in shock.
“...Oh. Hi?” Wukong lifted his free hand to give them a nervous little wave.
Demon Bull King’s bellowing yell of “Sun Wukong!” was all the warning the Monkey King needed to take off running at full speed, the entire Demon Bull Family hot on his heels.
Fifteen minutes later, MK, who had taken to using his hand to draw shapes into the ground of the cave, jumped- before hissing as a bright swirling fire appeared in front of him.
“Relax, Noodle Boy, it’s just me.” Red Son said, the fire clearing away to reveal him standing there, carrying Sun Wukong over his shoulder- who was still holding on to the three blankets he had stolen. “I’m just here to deliver your idiotic mentor back to you.”
“Hey! I take offense to that!” Wukong struggled, getting unceremoniously dumped on the ground for his efforts. MK, instantly, grabbed him, lifting him up and holding him in his hand, to make sure he wouldn’t run away again.
“That taken care of-” Red Son clapped his hands, “I’ll be taking my leave-”
Red Son was cut off, as suddenly one of MK’s tails reached out, scooping him up off the ground.
“What- Oh come on Noodle Boy, I can’t stay here!I have stuff to do!” MK gave no response to that other than a small rumble, not making any move to put the fire demon down. Red Son huffed, adjusting slightly to make himself more comfortable, grumbling, “I hope the Dragon Girl is having a better day than I am…”
-
Mei panted, bent over, one hand against the giant bowl, the other against her knee, as she tried to catch her breath. The others were in similar conditions, Tang outright laying down on the floor of Macaque’s dojo like he was dead- the only sign of life from him being the way his chest quickly rose and fell with desperate breaths.
“That-” Mei inhaled, “That was-”
“Awful?” Macaque suggested, from his position of being down on his hands and knees on the floor. Mei shook her head.
“No, amazing!” She said, tilting her head back with a laugh that, in her state, made her seem near-insane. “We absolutely need to do that again!”
“Let’s put ‘doing that again’ to the side for now.” Sandy said, patting the side of the bowl. “We have the bowl now, but we still need to get the ingredients.”
“Oh, no problem.” Macaque said, snapping his fingers, various shadow portals appearing above the bowl, dumping various vegetables down into it. Pigsy stood up, grabbing hold of the edge of the bowl, leaning down over it to pick up a carrot and inspect it.
“...Where did you get these?” He asked. Macaque shifted nervously.
“Ah… you know, here and there.” He shifted his hands side to side, before letting out a sigh. “...From some stores nearby.”
“Did you pay for it?”
“Why would I need to do that?”
There was a moment of silence, before Pigsy groaned.
“Y’know what, I don’t have the energy to deal with a ‘stealing is wrong’ discussion. Let’s just get all this back to the mountain.” Pigsy didn’t need to say any more, as a dark shadow spread out under each of them, and within the next heartbeat, they were back on Flower Fruit Mountain.
…They all paused, taking in the scene in front of them. Somehow, there was now a giant white sheet of fabric hung up on one of the walls, a small projector on a table projecting one of the Monkey King movies onto it. There were also two blankets over top of MK’s kaiju body, and Wukong was curled up slightly by MK’s hand, as well as-
Mei blinked in disbelief.
“Red Son? What are you doing here?”
Red Son turned to face them, looking slightly irritated.
“I’m being held hostage.” Was his response. Not even a second later, Wukong popped up from his curled up position to turn and stare at them with a bright smile- despite his expression however, he somehow looked more frazzled and feverish than he had before.
“Oh, you guys are back!! You should join us- Red Boy over here makes amazing popcorn.” Wukong said, Red Son reaching over to smack him on the shoulder.
“...Yeah, okay.” Pigsy decided that you know what, today had already been so weird, he might as well just take this in stride. “We have to make the soup first, though.”
Getting things set up for soup-making shockingly didn’t take as long as any of them thought it would- Red Son’s presence ended up being particularly helpful, making it easier to get a fire started to cook the soup with. It didn’t take long at all for the soup to be ready, everyone getting their own small bowls before MK sat up and took his much larger one, the entire group sitting in a small semi-circle beside him.
Or, well, almost the entire group.
“C’mon Macaque, aren’t you going to join us?” Mei asked, looking over her shoulder at where the aforementioned monkey was standing a rather good distance away.
“No thanks.”
“Why not?”
“Cause I know what Wukong will do.”
“What will he do?” Mei tilted her head to the side in confusion, Wukong also turning around now that his name had been mentioned, albeit with a devilish smirk on his face.
“Yeah, Macaque, what will I do?” He asked. Macaque glared at him.
“He’s going to lick me.” He said, “He’s going to wait, until I’m distracted, and then he’s going to lick me, and then I’m going to get sick, and I don’t want to get sick. I mean- look at what he did to the kid! I am not dealing with that!”
Everyone shared a brief glance up at MK, who just stared back down at them blankly. Admittedly, up until this point, it hadn’t occurred to anyone that Wukong having worse symptoms- or, more likely, being further along in the stages of the illness, likely meant that he had been the one to give it to MK in the first place. Almost simultaneously, they all turned to Wukong to give him a light glare. Wukong held his hands up in self defence.
“Hey- it wasn’t me- I’m not even sick!”
No-one even bothered to argue with him, instead rolling their eyes. Mei, for her part, set her soup bowl down on the ground, and then, despite Macaque’s protests, zoomed over, picked him up, and brought him over to sit with the rest of the group- Pigsy setting a bowl of soup down into his lap.
For a blessed twenty minutes, there was silence, the group watching the movie in relative peace.
And then there was an ear-splitting shriek.
They turned, and, sure enough- Wukong had used Macaque’s complete entrancement with the movie to grab hold of his wrist and lick his hand.
“I told you!!! I told you this would happen!” Macaque yelled, pulling his hand away from Wukong, shaking it almost like it was on fire. “Gross-”
“Oh, c’mon you big baby, it’s not that bad.” Wukong rolled his eyes, sniffling a little and rubbing his nose on his sleeve. Macaque glared at him with visible disgust, before groaning, wiping his hand on his pants.
“If random shadow portals start showing up everywhere within the next few days, know that it will be your fault.”

song on shuffle: “freakyt” by tiacorine
you’re very compassionate and you don’t play ego games with people, pile one. you’re very naturally beautiful, and you don’t care much about drama or competition. you’re also very forgiving, not only to yourself but also those who have crossed you. you don’t like to hold hate in your heart. you naturally shine like a star and you grab a lot of peoples attention just by existing. you have a lot of faith and trust in the divine, which is why you don’t bother with getting revenge because you know that the divine has your back. you could have a dark aesthetic, or you tend to attract people who are a bit darker than most people (physically and/or energetically.) you’re very well protected and your guides refuse to let you fall from grace.

˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile two!
song on shuffle: “lover is a day” by cuco
you’re someone who is very complex, and yet, you don’t allow the differences within you to confuse you. at times, yes, you may have a tough time making decisions on where to go or how to react, but you make it seem easy to those who are on the outside looking in. you’re very balanced and well-tempered, pile two. you don’t let people get to you emotionally and you always come out on top. people have a hard time making you mad or making you insecure. you could make music or you have a really good music taste. also, people love your dimples if you have them. people who tend who have low self esteem are very attracted to your light because you naturally make people feel good, and im seeing that people could think about you for years after parting ways from you.

˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile three!
song on shuffle: “i wanna be yours” by arctic monkeys
you have no limitations, pile three. you have the entirety of the universe within your soul and you’re starting to realize this, aren’t you? it may seem too good to be true, which may cause you to doubt yourself at times, but it’s true. you’re a go getter and you always get what you want, even if it takes longer than you expected, or comes in a different form than you originally thought. you quite literally have the ability to go wherever you pease, much like a bird. your mind is wired differently than others and you’re able to see and understand things that most people cannot. there’s some emphasis on your nose being part of your star quality, as well. you attract powerful relationships and connections into your life.

˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile four!
song on shuffle: “putrid pride” by $uicideboy$
you’re very striking and magnetic, pile four. people are so attracted and pulled to you and they don’t fully understand why. yes, you’re attractive, but a lot of people are attractive - so why do people become so addicted to you? well, because you’re not like anyone else. you evoke emotions and feelings within people that have never been evoked before by anyone else. people become obsessed with you, pile four. your sacral chakra is very magnetic, and your eyes lure people in and it seems so innocent at first, but then they realize there’s no way out. you have a way with words and you’re very sweet and sensual, which makes people overlook the depth within you. people love to watch you, pile four. you’re very entertaining.

˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile five!
song on shuffle: "the beach" by the neighbourhood
you are fearless, pile five. you have the ability to let go of anything and everything that does not serve you, and in the end, you're good on your own. it may not be something you prefer, but you would rather by by yourself than be surrounded with people who are going to hold you back from your highest potential. you've gone through a lot of tough situations alone and most people aren't able to do this, but it seems that you prefer it that way anyway - you probably don't like being vulnerable in front of others. you read people like a book and you can always feel it when someone is lying or keeping something hidden. you're very mystical and magical; you have the ability to influence people with your words and your creations. a lot of people don't understand you and even if they try to, they may give up because you're out of their reach.
﹒ . ⊹ ♡ ⁺ ₊ ✮ ₊ ⁺ ⊹ ❀ . ﹒ ₊ ✮ ₊ ⁺ ⊹
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile six!
song on shuffle: "self care" by mac miller
well, pile six... you naturally shine. everything about you screams "star quality" and everyone around you knows it. you're extremely powerful, attractive, brave, and talented. if anyone doubted you before, they're eating their words now. you naturally shine, even in a room full of light, your light is the brightest. people are so naturally gravitated towards you; your appearance as well as your energy is very eye-catching. how could anyone not notice you? however, you're a very reserved person and you may not like to go out much. you have a connection with mother nature and you like to spend time expanding your mind and gaining knowledge. you're a very divine being, pile six, and you're here to spread your light to others, so try not to keep yourself tucked away too much.

WOE is a very messy and average set at best. The limited is very bad if you play more than 1-3 times and/or like competitive play. The card designs are extremely poor for 1v1 and competitive play, they feel just down right boring and are relying on the flavor of the set to carry the whole product. What playable 1v1 comeptitive cards there are, are very unfun to play against and unhealthy for the format....... But as a member of the Rat crew for life.... there is actually enough rats to make a 1.5 tier deck and I ... love it!! My favorite standard in 5 years easily.... but is objectively a terrible standard. But me and my rats will be here stealing games we have no business winning till at least fall 2024. ...... This is like a total monkey's paw situation where I made a Bargain with my Lord and Savior Skitter and we are terrorizing the other players on ladder, but the cost is it being a terrible standard objectively...... but I'm happy so does it matter if the game is an objectively a terrible state? Yes, but also ..... GO RATS!!!!!!
I have to ask Jon. Was there a point in Magic where you were happy with the state of design and competitive game balance?

Everything
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: In that moment and in that moment, you had everything you wanted and everything you needed. (Neteyam/Na’vi Reader)
Prompt #2 for my submission for #𝐂𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬𝟏𝟒𝐃𝐎𝐋𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒
Story Tags: No use of Y/N, Female Reader, Na’vi Language, Playful Chasing, Established Relationship
Author’s Note: So, I have a couple of lines by Neteyam speaking English so I will have those words and phrase marked with a ~on either end and italicized like so~.
Na’vi Translation: Olo’eyktan – Clan leader
Syaksyuk – also called “prolemuris” which is a chattering, non-aggressive tree dweller that lives in the canopy, as opposed to the dangerous forest floor, similar to the monkeys and apes of Earth
Tawtute – human | Sky Person
Vitraya Ramunong – also called “The Tree of Souls”, it is a giant willow tree of extreme spiritual significance to the Na’vi, more so than any other point on Pandora that is said to be the closest connection to Eywa on Pandora

“Neteyam! No fair! Your legs are so much longer than mine!” you giggled as you ran after him, launching yourself over a log as best as you could, trying to keep up the oldest Sully son, your whip-like tail flicking back and forth to keep you upright. He just laughed and turned about to face you, still running, though, determined to keep up the impromptu game of tag he had started. Your amber eyes widened when you saw him heading backwards for a bush but then it was too late, even with your arm stretched out to try to catch him. As Neteyam’s balance began to topple, he grabbed your wrist, dragging you with him as he fell backwards.
The world was a blur as the two of you toppled head over heels once, twice, three times before the two of you came to a stop, you on your back with the Olo’eyktan’s leaning over top of you, both of you panting for breath.
“You are such a syaksyuk butt,” you laughed with a huge grin at your boyfriend’s antics, shoving him off of you and jumping to your feet and taking off into the trees, whooping as you leapt and began climbing the nearest tree to continue the game. Glancing over your striped shoulder was a mistake, though, as Neteyam’s quick reflexes had him nearly right behind you, just a meter and a half away already. You yelped and swung yourself up onto a branch and scrambled upright only to feel a callused hand grasp the tip of your tail, just beneath the furry tuft with a firm grip, pulling you back, causing you to squeal in surprise and slight pain. You whined once more, “No fair, Teyam!”
The male Na’vi let go and you curled your tail around your legs, pouting at him as he scrambled onto your bough, grunting in English, “~All’s fair in love and war, baby~.”
You flicked him between the eyes and carefully sat down on the moss covering the wood, muttering, “You are still a syaksyuk butt.”
“~C’mon~, I grabbed you fair and square so you owe me a question,” Neteyam coaxed, putting his back against the trunk of the tree and spreading his thighs to straddle the tree’s limb you and he both sat upon. He reached for you and carefully pulled you into the ‘V’ of his thighs so you could cuddle up next to him. “Comfy?” You nodded. “Okay… so for my question… if you could have a tawtute Avatar, would you, to experience the way they see and feel the world?”
You frowned; the idea absolutely preposterous.
“What? No!” you replied immediately, meeting your boyfriend’s curious gaze. “Why would I break the connection I have to Eywa?” Then you remembered his father had been born human and your tone softened. “I mean no disrespect to your sempul,” you assured him gently, “but I love my life as it is. I love my family. I love my clan. I love everything Eywa has thought to bless me with and I would not give it up in a heartbeat for even a second. Not ever. Being able to connect to the various creatures and to our ancestors at Vitraya Ramunong and eventually my mate? No, I would never give it up, even for a temporary body.” You hesitated, then inquired softly, “Would you? Perhaps to experience what your sempul did while he grew up on Earth?” “I…” the words seemed to get caught in his throat and his brows furrowed. You could see him struggle with his thoughts behind his honey yellow gaze, with the weighing of his own wants and desires against the expectations piled so strenuously high upon his broad shoulders and you cupped his jaw soothingly. You whispered, “It’s about what you want, Tey. Would you want to experience life like a tawtute? If only in brief spurts? To have a deeper connection to your history?” He nodded slowly; brow furrowed as you watched his mind racing behind his eyes. “There is nothing wrong with that,” you assured him. “There’s also nothing wrong with asking for things you want.” He smiled softly and pressed his forehead against yours and hugged you tighter, his touch conveying more than his words could in that moment and in that moment, you had everything you wanted and everything you needed.

My Jet Set Radio New Game Predictions
Here's what i think theyre going to do for the new jet set radio!
They are going to retell the plot of the first JSR and/or Future but with a new coat of paint
There are going to be purchasable DLC graffiti and music packs
the graffiti editor will be even more hostile to human life
Corn is going to die in the first ten minutes of the game
They are introducing a new member of the GGs named "Snorf", and his catchphrase is going to be "It's snorfin' time!"
Pots is finally going to have the fully humanoid body he's always wanted.
yoyo is not going to be in it, they are replacing him with Ecco the Dolphin (This has actually been Confirmed by SEGA!)
You play as a member of Poison Jam this time. you get to chill in da sewers and watch monster movies between levels ^.^
They are going to implement motion controls.
We'll finally get confirmation on which members of the GGs are and aren't furries!
@dailyoyo is going to be working on it :D everyone contgraltulate them for how many sega employees they had to slaughter to get here
Beat will lose both of his arms and get giant horrible frightening mechanical claws as replacements
there will be a sanity meter mechanic!
It will be "Fortnite 2".
There will be a chapter of the game where Beat's headphones go missing and you have to find them! During the entire chapter, there will be no music whatsoever to emphasize Beat's lack of headphones.
there is going to be a 2-hour segment that is just an artsy and inscrutable experimental depiction of yoyo goig into a dissociateive spiral
Hayashi and Onishima will both be in the game, and they're going to be making out sloppy style every time they're onscreen. They won't even function as enemies? They're just a setpiece?
There will be no rival gangs, the entire plot will entail the GGs turning on each other like rabid dogs for ill-defined and petty reasons.
to be innovative and try something different from teh rest of the series, the soundtrack is going to be bad.
Yoyo is going to perish and be consumed by a malevolent warehouse, which will merge with his consciousness.
Bis/Mew/Ryth will have a new name
There's gonna be robot doppelgangers of ALL the ggs! uh oh! theyre all going to die before they get any significant screentime though in order to punish me specifically
There is going to be a minigame where you play as an overworked ordinary Rokkaku Group employee desperately trying to balance the company budget as Gouji continues to pour more money into the Killing Teenagers fund.
Tumblr media
^ can someone buy this for me. i cant pay you back
New mechanic where you can escape enemies by killing them, but the character you used to do this will go into a crisis over having had to take a fellow human's life at such a young age and the traumatic effects will lower their stats. Pots is immune to this effect
yoyo will get euthanized
There will be a new area named "The Unforgiving Abyss". Grind down the spine of the thousand mile long leviathan who perished within!
Ice skating instead of rollerksating?
aiai from super monkey ball will be in there
You won't be able to play it without pirating it to be truer to the spirit of the game
The moral of the story will be that the real radio was the jet we set along the way.

Poll Vote Enemies To Lovers
Hi lovely readers, I wish you all a great weekend <3
The Tides That Bind Us by lululawlawlu (M)
It comes to Luffy in recurring dreams—sometimes as clouded visions, sometimes clear as the tropical waters it supposedly rests in. The minute details are ever-changing as the tides, but one thing is always constant—a red string coiled around his finger. It leads him down into the depths of the ocean, pulls him toward the thrill of discovering the holy grail of sunken ships. What was once the pirate king’s is now waiting for him, so what is he waiting for?
fighting tides and chasing you by aloas (T)
Law drops his hand as he watches Luffy escaping, slipping through Law’s fingers once again. His figure grows smaller as the distance between them gets bigger, and yet Law is far from disappointed. This is only their 19th encounter, and Law knows there will always be a next time.
Through the Night by Sakuya_Serenity_Kira (T)
Law saved him. Law really knew, why he saved Luffy, why he had no choice to do so. And all he wanted was to stay with him. But of course, there was no chance. Only for a few days... he tried to carry his heart.
You wreck my plan, I wreck 'you' by KalonThorn (E)
A game of cat and mouse between two outlaws, where no one knows until the end who the mouse in this is.
The Duelists by KalonThorn (E)
Luffy decides to join the dueling club, where he meets one of the biggest prodigies in Hogwarts' history - Trafalgar D. Water Law. They soon begin to butt heads with each other, trying to up one another not only in spell-casting, but also in pranks and other insane stunts.
Solar Eclipse by quackquackcey (E)
The story of the Hero and the Villain, and the accidental meeting that changed everything.~
Enchanted Ink and Devil's Helmet by quackquackcey (E)
A normal evening during closing hours of Luffy’s tattoo parlor turns sour, and somehow, two bitter rivals-turned-enemies are roped into a supernatural rollercoaster of a night, in which an old ghost comes to haunt them once again.~
Cats and Dogs, or Rather, Ducks by quackquackcey (M)
A story of how two people, who fight like cats and dogs, realize that perhaps, opposites really do attract. Or something like that.~
I hate you, at least I think I do by Anonymous (T)
Luffy and Law can't stand eachother they never could it was like oil and water till well, things change.
Prison of Deception by Orphan_Account (NR)
Luffy, a captain in the Marines, is tasked with guarding and interrogating the pirate prisoner, Trafalgar Law.
Alice, Alice, Don't You Know? by All_My_Characters_Are_Dead (T)
“You let your secret lesser hellhound eat the hat with your secret griffin feathers inside the lining, and you let your secret fireball brother send your stupid Alice brother with the hound?” Law shouted. “What the fuck, Sabo? How am I supposed to get your feathers out of Sunny and back to you without tipping off your brother?” “I’m sure you’ll think of something. That’s why you’re the best, Law. Better think fast, because I waited until he was five minutes out to call you. Thanks, Law!” There was a beep as Sabo hung up, and Law stared at the phone for five full seconds to process and scream internally instead of externally.
Sweets by Skypiea_Lulu (G)
Law hates his neighbor, he is loud, annoying and obnoxious, the problem is that he has to start socializing with him, but not in the way he expected.
The Alpha, the Omega, and everything in between by N_Moonbreeze (E)
The World Nobles were the only Alphas. The Omegas were their appointed servants, fit only to give up their bodies. The Omegas were to be given away and the non-existent Alphas to hide away. These are the ironclad rules of their world. After meeting one Monkey D. Luffy, Alpha Law ultimately decides that he doesn't actually give a shit about said rules. Until the same man, barely coherent on his operating table, utters one word that throws his whole world out of balance. "...alpha!"

How to deal with lack of motivation to reply?
Ah, the old blank screen stare. So, for the most part I consider this issue to be several intersecting problems at the same time. Usually a lack of motivation indicates a.) a lack of fun/enjoyment, b.) low/no expectation of reward, or c.) fear or apprehension. Let's explore that under the cut.
When you are roleplaying and you're not enjoying yourself explicitly, if the journey to a finished post is not fun itself, we're kind of fucking ourselves over. Creation of these words, excitement at turning a phrase or approaching an idea you really want to explore is basically the whole gist of it. It is a hobby, and loving what you write and laughing at your own jokes is important! You are your own first audience, and if you're not impressed or pleased with what you're writing, it becomes an endless Sisyphean task where you unhappily struggle to write something, anything, to just get through it.
In this case it may be a lack of inspiration. With no structure, or core, we can really easily lose sight of what kind of play we're looking for. What are your goals? Are you here for plot, or character? For smut, or a quick playful bit of banter? Do you want to fight, or are you reaching for some overarching thing? Hell, do you know where THIS scene is headed, or does it feel like an endless trudge? These ideals disappearing or falling to the wayside for someone else can really fuck the vibe!
How are you supposed to know what to write, if you don't have any plans for the character, or don't know where they might potentially go? Like it doesn't have to be hard and fast, but understanding your characters own personal goals, fears, joys, and secrets (entirely different to you, the player) can help with motivation in writing them. I like to explore these by playing games with myself, and daydreaming about scenarios and possibilities that aren't "canon" to my character, but just let me know more about them if a similar situation were to come up. Having a library chock-full of potential what-ifs can help a ton in figuring out how to approach any actions or direction a partner may push you towards. Be excited to explore your character, and to show them off to others! This journey is soooo important to love for itself!
Like with any piece of art, not enjoying the process is a quick short-cut to burn-out and misery. So, if this is happening you might want to adjust some things if you're sitting there upset and bored instead of enjoying what should be a fun pastime you can lose yourself in! So instead of beating yourself up about posting, figure out why it's a chore. Are you taking care of yourself? Have you met the S.H.R.E.K. criteria for the day? Is this post not something in your wheelhouse, or do you feel like you could be doing something else and getting more fun out of it?
Before I get ahead of myself, let me address the truly horrific acronym I just threw at you. S.H.R.E.K. criteria? Who would inflict this on you? Well... me, because it's so memetic and stupid I remember it way better than most acronyms, so buckle up buttercup. It stands for:
Socialization: Have you talked to someone or had meaningful interactions with others for the day? Depending on your needs, you may need hugs, touching others, chatting with loved ones, or cuddling. Some people literally need to be touched, held, hugged, and talked with the thrive, and others can do just fine with a little less. Listen to the monkey studies: Don't be a wire mother to yourself, let yourself have cloth mother sometimes. Hydration: Have you been drinking enough liquids to be hydrated and keep your piss from being too yellow? No liquids means your body starts sucking at everything from getting oxygen to the brain, to making food into energy. Make sure you balance hydration with salt and food intake, but never underestimate what a good cold cup of something can do. And yes, any liquid works. Coffee is dehydrating, so is soda, but their hydrating effect is way bigger than how often they make you piddle so it balances out. Still, water is best but don't beat yourself up about it. Rest: Have you slept enough in the last 24 hours? I know you think 4-6 is okay, but it's really not, it will actually cause you to behave like an alcoholic and lead to later insomnia, mental issue worsening, and health problems like heart issues. Nip that in the bud, sleep full 8-10 hour nights. Or nap if you're just sleepy! Eat: Have you shoved nutritious food in your gob or are you dying from scurvy, beri-beri, and malnutrition simultaneously while depriving the lil dudes who help you write a good lunch? Don't starve your lil neuron folks, they need a good meal too. Even if it's just ingredients for a meal, anything is better than nothing and you deserve food. Kinetics: Have you moved around? Stretched? Walked or played? Sometimes if you're starting out from zero, you might try just standing up and sitting down a couple times to help get bloodflow going! Getting active at whatever level you're at is good for the brain.
Anyways after that interlude, back to basics. At the lowest tier we want to be having fun. If we're not, it might be us, or it might be a boring lackluster partner. That's where a lack of reward comes in. If the partner is, bless them and their hard work, just not giving you the thrills to pay the dopamine bills? That just might mean you guys aren't a good match! This is not the end of the world, it just means you might need to stop playing with them.
Step back, consider if roleplaying with their style and output is worth your time and effort, and do BOTH of you a favor if they aren't. Set them free to play with other players who love their writing and can't get enough of it, and stop grating your teeth across cement trying to come up with something to keep things you don't even like going. This is the communication part, remember how I used to harp on that? Well old Uragani still thinks it's super important. So discuss that 'hey, we might not be a great fit for writing together' and come up with solutions. Maybe finding new partners, and just staying friends, or just waving goodbye to each other and hitting the road.
Here we find ourselves looking at challenger #3, the good old fear and apprehension. This comes up more than I'd like to admit. Are you worried about what's happening next? Or how you might portray something? Have you worked yourself up too much, and now you feel like you can never meet your own expectations? Are you scared of letting down a partner, and not giving them your best? Do you feel like your post might go over an unwritten line, and leave people upset with you?
Congrats! I hate that shit too! I do not know why brains do this to us! I would like to sue!
Anxiety is a hell of a beast, so is Impostor Syndrome, and fear of letting people down, and all the other fun goodies in that bag. They can be worked on at home, in small doses. You gotta learn to sit back, and be able to talk to yourself. Why are you feeling this way, and finding the name for your emotional state, accepting it, and letting it pass through can help. In major situations, you might need to find yourself a good old Common Sense Dispenser, better known as a therapist. They have the tools you need, and yes, roleplay can be a play you find out what you need. It's not dumb, it's useful.
Working through this can be as simple as discussing your fears with your partner and making sure everything is kosher. It might need you to look at a worst case scenario and then planning an exit strategy for that, even if it never happens. Sometimes, you just gotta heft yourself up, and push through the fear. There's a million ways to get through it, and I'm not the person who can tell you which will work for you. But I can tell you, it gets better the longer you work with it. Confidence comes from experience, the more you work at it, the more it feels like second nature.
But that brings with it the last beast, the hidden #4. Burn-out. Sometimes, when we delve too deeply into something we love, we ignore the signs of burn-out. Losing interest in things we once deeply enjoyed. Feeling exhausted at the thought of starting a post, or writing anything. Feeling like we've lost touch with what we used to be good at. Burn out can be a miserable thing, because it stand between us and our goals, our happiness, and it keeps them behind the thickest glass, so we can see them, but getting them feels impossible. The harder we push, the thicker the glass becomes.
In cases of burn out, like the kind I've experienced, sometimes you need to take a step back and just do something else. Go on hiatus. Maybe it's hooked to a character, and you simply have to play with some other muse. Maybe it's with another player, and finding a new fandom without them in it can help. Maybe it's with writing at large, and you need to go find some other outlet to explore while this one heals. You cannot do the same thing forever, you will lose touch with what makes it special. Believe me.
But after healing, which can take years if you keep pushing it like some idiot who wrote RPedia long after you should stop, it'll be fun again. You'll want to come back, and do the thing you were good at, and loved again. The spark will return, and things just... settle and feel better. I promise. Just let yourself have that time to recover without pushing yourself somewhere you aren't meant to go right now.
Naturally there's other stuff too. ADHD/Autism/other issues could be throwing the executive dysfunction ball into your lap and suddenly doing the thing you've done a thousand times is impossible. Stars aren't in alignment. Maybe you're stressed out because of an external force and need a break. Maybe the thread you're in has been going on too long in the same scene, and you need to cut and start a "fresh episode" before everything stays stale forever. Maybe you just aren't in the mood! There's a million reasons, but all of them come down to figuring out what the problem is, and engaging with ways to break that problem down into bits. Find your fun. Look for partners who make you feel like writing with them is worth it. Work with your fears, and express yourself about them and let them past through you. Find external help if needed, and take care of your body while you're at it.
And hey, remember, I am not the end all be all of advice. It could totally be something outside of these circumstances, but I'd like to think that in my experience these are the major factors that I keep coming across. If any of this has been a help, I can only be happy to have said it. Thank you so much for reading!

65 (or march 6th) for @paulmezcal - love is a laserquest by arctic monkeys
i can't think of anything to dream about/i can't find anywhere to hide
it's weird to be haunted by someone who isn't dead.
bradley's well used to hauntings at this point in his life - his father looms over his career, his mother over his house. mav over his trust issues and most reckless tendencies. and jake over his heart.
he hasn't seen jake in years - 5 to be exact, almost to the day. since their leave ran out post mission and jake broke out of the daydream they had been in together, like he'd never even been there.
"this has been fun," jake had said, that same smirk he always has affixed to his face. "we should do it again some time."
and then he got in his car and drove off, leaving bradley in the parking lot, watching him, frozen in place. he's still there, in a way. it's weird, maybe concerning, how much everything reminds him of jake. the blanket across the back of the couch that they had laid down on the floor and fucked on top of the second they got home, adrenaline and relief taking them both to the edge in record time. the mug in the cabinet that jake dropped one morning when trying to prove he had the balance to be a waiter. the shampoo jake left that bradley started using, and kept buying even after it ran out.
it's not like he hasn't tried over the years. he's dated others, but it's all fallen away and all that's left is the stain on bradley's ceiling from the time jake opened the microwave and the butter exploded.
it's all pathetic. so pathetic that when he answers the door on a sunday afternoon, bradley almost doesn't believe it.
"jake," he says dumbly. maybe this is just another one of his daydreams.
"bradley," jake says back, more sure. always more sure. "you gonna invite me in?"
wordlessly, he steps aside to let jake come in. the man wastes no time getting comfortable, seemingly still acquainted with bradley's home after all this time. jake sits at the small table in the breakfast nook, so bradley sits across from him. he's struck with the memories of sharing their morning coffee here.
"what are you doing here, jake?" bradley asks when the other man is silent for a long time.
"i, uh, just got home from deployment," jake's not looking at bradley; instead, he's tracing his fingers over the wood grain of the table. "i got into my car and started driving south. didn't realize where i was going until i hit bakersfield."
it's not an answer, but bradley's too confused and too tired to fight. "and why did you come here?"
"i guess i was just thinking of you. it was just your birthday right? 40?"
bradley starts. he didn't know jake still kept those facts about him, stored away in some private file.
"yeah," he confirms. two weeks ago, he turned 40. the same age mom was when she was diagnosed.
"when i saw the date, i remembered how you used to look in the mirror sometimes, for so long i was afraid something had happened. and when i would ask you, you just told me you had to remind yourself that you're still here. i guess i was just wondering if you still had to do that. or if you've found something else to ground you."
for a long time, bradley thought jake would be that person. he almost was; by the end of there few months together, bradley's nights spent studying himself, picking out the differences and similarities to his parents, shrunk and shrunk. instead, he let jake kiss it out of him.
"not yet," bradley settles on as an answer and tries to decode the way jake's brows scrunch together, how his shoulders droop.
"i'm sorry. i know that's what you wanted."
it feels cruel, almost. that jake is sitting her and dangling what he refused to give bradley in his face.
"of course," jake continues, "you've never been very good at asking for what you want."
the truth of it burns, and bradley feels hot.
"what about you?" bradley volleys. "i remember distinctly feeling like this whole thing was some kind of game to you."
"it was," jake admits so easily that it shocks bradley, just for a moment. "i never felt like anything was real. i liked to move fast and not care about what i left behind."
"used to?" bradley echoes back carefully.
"yeah," jake confirms, looking deep into bradley's eyes. "used to."
"what changed?"
jake shrugs. "i think i finally feel my age. and i think i finally realized that i need to stop pretending you were just some lover, like all the rest."
bradley sucks in a sharp breath. "jake, you can't say that. not now."
jake's face crumples. "look, i know it's probably too late. but i'm sorry and i miss you and i want to try again. for real."
"what's changed?" bradley asks again, trying to quell the hope crawling up his throat.
"nothing. except for me. if that's enough."
bradley doesn't know if it is. but for now, it's good enough for him. he reaches across the table to loop their hands together and squeezes.

FINNICK ODAIR X READER
'Monkeys Fist'
Tumblr media
Finnick's face goes pale as he sees the screen, yn.
"Finnick. Your poor little district 13. You need to stop this," yn says looking into the camera with a empathetic look in her eyes.
"Katniss please. People are dying, we need a cease fire," Peeta says.
After that he went completely Bat Shit.
He was insane trying to get someone to rescue you, hell he tried to go to the capitol multiple times. Just to see you one last time.
It had been weeks since the broadcasts of Yn and Peeta had started. After the bombing Peeta and Yn mentioned, a rescue team had to be sent out. The Mockingjay couldn't function and neither could Finnick.
Katniss observes as Finnick ties the same knot. And unties it.
It's the same one every time. As they wait for word of the condition of Peeta and Yn, Katniss wonders why.
Why, the same one? It looks like a ball of rope, carefully entertwined until it forms some sort of ball.
"Why are you tying the same one every time?" Katniss questions to break the silcence.
Finnick gives her a sad smile, "Yn taught it to me. She said it was her favorite," Katniss almost feels bad for stirring up bad memories
And it doesn't help that in the five and a half weeks, they had been here he had been frantic worried about yn.
"Did you always love yn, Finnick?" Katnids asks.
He smiles, "She hated me, oh God how she hated me. She thought I was self centered, conceited, the list goes on," he smiles sadly, "I was her trainer. She won the games, and we became a couple. She kissed me before she left the games. I always loved her,"
He smiles at the memory, "She was also forced to be used..... by snow....for body. She's the one who found out that Snow poisoned to gain his postion. I helped gain more secrets, we both did. I told them every one. Years of work, it took some real care to not get caught, when we did. Yn blackmailed, she was good at it," he smiles as he remembers his lover.
"She sounds really...... nice," Katniss replies.
"She was, with everybody but the Capitol. We had to hide our dating, she was furious," he goes back to mindlessly tying and untying that knot.
Haymitch pushes thorough the door, "They're back. We're wanted in the hospital," katniss starts asking a million questions that Haymitch cuts off, "That's all I know,"
Katniss starts to run, but stops. Finnick is acting really strange. It's almost like he is paralyzed. She takes his hand and leads him through special defense, into the elevator, and on to the hospital wing.
The place is total chaos.
Doctors shouting patients being wheeled around it's total chaos.
"FINNICK," They hear a shriek if joy as a woman runs toward him, limping with gauze on her arm and a few bruises, and cuts.
The two lovers collapse into each other, clinging after having been so lost without the other.
They fall into a wall unable to maintain balance and stay there.
"I missed you," is all Yn says, breathless.
Finnick softly kisses her, "I missed you more,"
Yn hisses in pain as Finnick looks bewildered, "Calm down. I'm fine. Okay yeah that's a lie. I will live,"
He looks incredibly panicked as she explained her knee had to be put back into socket.
"My knot," yn says smiling as she looks at the Monkeys fist knot.
Finnick smiles and hands it to her to investigate
"I love you," she says kissing him.
After they break the kiss, "I love you to, sweetheart," he says slinging an arm around her waist to walk off together. Not willing to lose her for another second.
After they reach their room, laying side by side on the the bed. He has to know what happened.
"So. What,.... What did they do?" He asks timidly, whilst snuggling into her neck. She had always been extremely open about talking about trauma. It was how yn processed it.
"Not this time, Finny," is all she says. They lay in silence until they both drift off.
Yn wakes up to Finick staring at her.
She giggles and gives him a kiss before she gets up , Finnick groans as she changes and starts to get him up.
"Did you even leave bed?" She teases.
"This is actually one of the first times I have been allowed to sleep in here, they kept me in the pysch ward," he states.
"Poor thing," she says as she kisses the top of his head.
After a week, Peeta hasn't made much progress. But, Finnick was incredibly upset over the fact that Yn hadn't told him anything.
It wasn't the fact that she didn't want to talk about it. It was she didn't want to talk about it with him.
She talked to Johanna.
She had sworn her to secrecy.
"Please, I need to know," He would beg from Johanna.
"Fuck off unless you want me telling yn," she would threaten.
Yn had been tortured but not hijacked. She didn't need to be.
One threat to Finnick and they had her full compliance.
Johanna and Yn sat in the hummingbird room.
"I can't tell him. He would be so mad at himself," yn tells her.
Johanna thinks about this, "He has been trying to get information out of me,"
That is all Yn needs and she is racing down the hall.
Finnick greets her with a kiss. He hadn't asked her about anything since that night.
"What the hell Odair," she exclaims.
Finnick is bewildered as to what he did.
"I,-" yn cuts him off.
"You asked Johanna. I would have told you. They threatened you, it didn't work on Peeta. But it worked on me. They were going to have you tortured and hijacked. So i did what they wanted, but that didn't stop the abuse," she spills out.
"Happy now," she asks giving him a hard look with tear stained cheeks.
She runs down the hall and hides in an old closet.
'The water is so cold it's icy. She watches in fear as a wave of ice cold water hits her skin.
The water quickly drains as eltric pulses shoot through her body. She is half conscious and crying when Snow walks in.
