THE TWO FACES OF SOCIAL PLATFORMS (Good &Bad)
Youth's wellbeing and mental health are influenced by social media in ways that are good and bad.Social media offers numerous advantages to youth, including the opportunity for creative expression, educational possibilities, and the chance to interact with others. However, social media can also have negative impacts on the mental and physical well-being of students.
Why is social media good?
We have more connectivity and convenience thanks to social media, such as:
• keeping in touch with loved ones all across the world via email, SMS, FaceTime, etc.
• Easy access to research and information
• Bill payment and banking at our fingertips
• Participation in social responsibility (fundraising, promoting social awareness, giving a voice) and online learning, work skills, and content discovery (on YouTube).
• Powerful promotional tools
• Possibilities for working remotely.
Therefore, technology and social media make our lives easier, but we should use them in moderation. Social media can be beneficial, but teenagers should trust their own feelings and call out a trusted adult if they ever feel uneasy about something they read or see there. This person could be a parent, a teacher, or another trusted adult. Social media bullying, threats, and violence are all indications that the individual who did it needs support.
Why is social media bad and what is the disadvantages of using social media?
•Lacks Emotional Connection
•Gives People a License to be Hurtful
•Decreases Face-to-Face Communication Skills
•Conveys Inauthentic Expression of Feelings
•Diminishes Understanding and Thoughtfulness
•Causes Face-to-Face Interactions to Feel Disconnected
•Facilitates Laziness
•Creates a Skewed Self-Image
•Reduces Family Closeness
•Causes Distractions
With all of its benefits, the nature of social media presents a range of potential issues.
Online vs. reality: Social media itself is not the problem. It is the way people use it in place of actual communication and in-person socializing. "Friends" on social media may not actually be friends and may even be strangers. Increased usage. The more time spent on social media, the more it can lead to cyberbullying, social anxiety, depression, and exposure to content that is not age-appropriate. Social Media is addicting. When you’re playing a game or accomplishing a task, you seek to do it as well as you can. Once you succeed, your brain will give you a dose of dopamine and other happiness hormones, making you happy. The same mechanism functions when you post a picture to Instagram or Facebook. Once you see all the notifications for likes and positive comments popping up on your screen, you’ll subconsciously register them as a reward. But that’s not all; social media is full of mood-modifying experiences and self-image issues. Social media sites provide tools that allow people to earn others’ approval for their appearance and the possibility to compare themselves to others. It can be associated with body image concerns. The "selfieholics" and people who spend most of their time posting and scrolling are the ones most vulnerable to this.
In fact, most college girls who use Facebook at least five times a day are likely to link their self-worth to their looks. That doesn’t mean that the main problem is social media; it only provides a medium for it, which further elevates the problem. It also promotes the same sort of behavior in others.

Alternatives to the Spanking Routine
In the extensive world of lifestyle-related social media, discussions often center around spanking, with gifs, pictures, and memes flooding feeds. As an enthusiast of playful "funishment" (role-play for enjoyment rather than correction), the lively energy it brings to the D/S lifestyle is undeniable. However, for those who rely on spanking as a primary corrective tool, it is worth considering some alternative approaches.
Before we delve into alternatives, it is important to acknowledge that many submissives enjoy the sensation and mental impact of a well-executed spanking. Yet, not everyone shares this enthusiasm, and what follows may not resonate with those who are not fans.
Let's discuss philosophy. If a spanking is intended to correct a submissive who has crossed a metaphorical line in the sand, and they happen to enjoy it, are we inadvertently rewarding bad behavior? The argument that "there is a difference between the spankings" may hold, but the core issue remains: are we rewarding undesirable conduct with something the submissive likes?
Some submissives appreciate a more robust spanking, and some may even act out to receive the heavy-handedness they secretly crave. It is a paradox challenging the conventional idea of corrective discipline, blurring the lines between punishment and reward.
Moreover, overusing spanking for correction risks diluting the joy that spanking should bring. Imagine your favorite treat, mine is ice cream. Now, if forced to indulge in ice cream every time a mistake is made, the love for it would likely wane.
So, here is a challenge for those reaching for their "Frankenstein Flogger" when a submissive falters: try a different approach. Ask the s-type to explain their infraction, no "I do not know" allowed unless quizzing them about their D/S bloggers favorite Dairy Queen Blizzard flavor. Make them articulate why they erred, and then correct them in a creative and unique way.
Consider these five alternative ideas:
Write an Essay: Handwrite, not type, an essay about why they made the mistake and why it is wrong. Perhaps if you are E. Edward Grey, have your red pens ready to proofread.
Lines: Pen and notebook paper ready, have them write lines neatly by hand. For added impact, uphold penmanship even as writer’s cramp sets in.
Corner Time: Classic but effective, have them stand silently in the corner for a set time.
Advanced Corner Time: Elevate "corner time" by having them hold a penny to the wall using just their nose.
Mouthwash Moment: For the sassy ones, wash out their mouth with 'yummy' household vinegar (not cleaning vinegar).
These ideas might not be groundbreaking, but they offer a starting point to explore what fits unique relationship dynamics. When correcting a partner, always seek the reason why, praise the positive, avoid turning correction into a power struggle, and maintain consistency with the submissive. Most important for dominants is to keep a cool demeanor, if unable to stay calm, cool, and collected, hold off on correction until composure is regained. While spanking remains a favorite for many dominants, the challenge is to keep the FUN in spanking. When a submissive slips up, find quirky and relationship-fitting ways to correct them that also fit your unique partnership. It is an opportunity to strengthen the bond between dominant and submissive, even in challenging correctional circumstances. So, to those whose default correction is the spanking, consider putting the paddle down and discovering a new, relationship-centric way to lay down the law.

Yesterday was a really good day. Things have been going really well for myself. I’m thinking of starting my own website where I can post verses just having this tumblr. I’ll keep this but I’d like to expand.
It’s been about two weeks since I deleted Facebook and honestly I don’t miss it as much as you would think. I liked posting little comments and shared about what I was doing that day but honestly I was just getting people on there that I didn’t really want to talk to or keep in touch with that I felt like I had to keep informed and that’s just not the case.
I cried out of pure happiness last night on my ride home because for the first time in a long time I feel like I’m actually doing something with my life and you have no idea how freeing it is to be making money doing something you find joyful when you’ve been stuck for so long.
I have a meeting with the psychiatrist today. I’m really nervous because I made mention to my accompanying therapist that I wasn’t taking all of my psych meds. And she and I are both of the same opinion: I don’t need them. I’ve been functioning without them since June of last year and my behavior has been perfectly normal. Now just to convince the doctor that I don’t need all of them.
Mental health medications come with many stigmas. I definitely believe that if you are struggling to get out of a rut, if your behavior involves you lashing out or being regularly angry or sad is displeased mental health meds can definitely be an option to get you back on track. But that’s the thing, I have been functioning perfectly fine without them and there’s no need to put a chemical in your body if it’s not serving you a purpose. I still live in the mental health community homes which they may back lash and say that I need to be taking meds to live here but the fact of the matter is I have been perfectly fine without them and my therapist whom I meet with every week agrees. I have been meeting with Leigh for over five years now so she knows a good chunk of my personality. The fact that she thinks I don’t needs these meds helps me to feel better about the idea that I don’t think I need them. It felt really good to hear her say she didn’t think it was necessary for me to continue them and I hope my doctor will be just as understanding.
If he’s not, which he is liable to be dissatisfied, I’ll just continue to keep them for the time being and when my roommate and I finally find an apartment I’ll revisit the idea of going off of them completely.
It’s been hard. I think I kind of convinced myself that I needed these meds because so many people pushed me out of their lives (and my mom was such an advocate). And at times I do struggle. I find myself taking the anti-depressants because I’m nervous that I will have a day in which I really doubt myself and I just can’t get up from the covers being pulled above my head. I want to convince my doctor to keep the prescription active or talk to him about alternatives that I can take for if I really feel like I need them that day. Because there are some days (a bit like today) where I don’t want to face the world. But overall, my mental health has been really good.
Now just to convince myself that I can’t save the world.
I started working as a residential housing worker for the home that saved me five years ago and honestly it’s been the most rewarding work. But I do have a super human flaw about myself where I want to do everything I can to help these people because I’ve been there but the fact of the matter is I can’t solve everything. I paid out of my own pocket for one of the residents groceries last night because I felt so bad that he had taken stuff to the register that he wanted and he couldn’t afford it. And this was fine one time but I most certainly am not made of money.
I broke up with bubi too. And he seemed to think I was made of money as well.
Though I want to save the world and solve everyone’s money problems, I just can’t and not taking care of my own needs, and saving others all the time is just something I am not capable of. I think I feel in a way like there are just so many problems in the world that it’s up to us as a human race to fix everything that I take it upon myself to push myself to my limits to be a better person but that’s just it: I am a good person and I do do good things and I can’t save everyone.
I was really happy with bubi, I reallly felt like I had found someone who would be with me for a long time and we were together for a year and five months but him calling me names and just expecting me to get over it, and then on top him taking money from me just pushed my limits. Plus he seems to think he’s done nothing wrong and he just expects me to beg for him to come back. I guess he didn’t get the message that I’m not going to beg to be with a man. And in fact I’m better off trying to take care of myself then trying to support both him and me. Once again, I’m not a super hero, I can’t save everyone.
So it’s been about two weeks with out him or Facebook but I’m doing really well. I’m in a job that I love and I feel like I’m crushing my goals. I have until November of 2024 to find my own apartment and things seem to finally be opening up with the weather lightening up. Keep your head up!

Thursday Thoughts: LinkedIn Etiquette
The other day a friend and fellow writer reached out to me for advice. She was concerned that she was being stalked on LinkedIn. This man had first requested to connect with her about a month ago and had since viewed her profile multiple times a day, in addition to sending multiple messages requesting a Zoom chat, which she had not replied to. My friend didn’t know how to handle this situation. She’s reluctant to burn any bridges in the industry and willing to believe the best in other people, but this person’s behavior was making her incredibly uncomfortable. While we were discussing the situation, my friend accidentally clicked the “connect” button, and quickly disconnected again. The man sent her a message: “I see you connected and disconnected with me. I was hoping to get some career advice from you. When can we talk?”
A bit over five years ago, I attended a workshop about networking. At the time, the workshop facilitator described LinkedIn as a “living resume” – a strictly professional platform. She said that she would only connect with people that she actually knew and had worked with, because connecting with them was a sign to any recruiters at her company that she knew and trusted this person.
However, five years is forever ago on the internet. I’ve watched my LinkedIn dashboard shift from just a place where people announced new jobs and projects to something almost indistinguishable from Facebook, full of life event announcements and memes. Connecting with as many people as possible to increase your networking potential is now the norm; people host audio events and post polls about it. LinkedIn has clearly shifted from “strictly professional place where you should only connect to people you really know” to “another social media site, but with a work and networking focus.”
That said, my advice to my friend – which I will share with you now – is that if you wouldn’t tolerate a kind of behavior on another social media platform, then don’t tolerate it on LinkedIn, either. Someone who will not leave you alone on social media, who refuses to take your silence as a no, who thinks it’s a good idea to outright tell you that they’ve noticed how you don’t want to talk to them but continue to pursue you anyway, is not someone you want to keep in your network. When someone makes you feel stalked, harassed, or unsafe for any reason, the best thing you can do is block them.
Yes, it’s good to make connections and to avoid burning bridges as you build your career. But we should be careful not to be so eager to avoid burning bridges that we forget to protect ourselves. It’s easy to worry that blocking the wrong person at the wrong time will mean that we never get the opportunity we need. The truth is that the opportunity we need is not the one that puts us alongside a creepy person. There will be other opportunities. We do not need to reward bad behavior – and my friend linking with this person, giving him her time and her advice, would have been a reward, when all he had done for her was make her uncomfortable.

We begin with the first force: intermittent positive reinforcement.
Scientists have known since Michael Zeiler’s famous pecking pigeon experiments from the 1970s that rewards delivered unpredictably are far more enticing than those delivered with a known pattern. Something about unpredictability releases more dopamine—a key neurotransmitter for regulating our sense of craving. The original Zeiler experiment had pigeons pecking a button that unpredictably released a food pellet.
As Adam Alter points out, this same basic behavior is replicated in the feedback buttons that have accompanied most social media posts since Facebook introduced the “Like” icon in 2009. “It’s hard to exaggerate how much the ‘like’ button changed the psychology of Facebook use,” Alter writes. “What had begun as a passive way to track your friends’ lives was now deeply interactive, and with exactly the sort of unpredictable feedback that motivated Zeiler’s pigeons.”
Alter goes on to describe users as “gambling” every time they post something on a social media platform: Will you get likes (or hearts or retweets), or will it languish with no feedback? The former creates what one Facebook engineer calls “bright dings of pseudo-pleasure,” while the latter feels bad. Either way, the outcome is hard to predict, which, as the psychology of addiction teaches us, makes the whole activity of posting and checking maddeningly appealing.

Lack of goals, or setting unrealistic goals, is characteristic of individuals who struggle with negativity. When you are focused on what is bad in your life, you tend to feel helpless in reaching your aims. “It’s not me; it’s you,” when you keep saying to all those dead examples of your ignorant destruction.
Perhaps you are more focused on giving up, rather than standing up and taking action. To crush your inner saboteur, you need to start with taking smaller bites. In other words – your goal is to set small, realistic targets. You don’t need to change your life right now; you just have to take a step towards making a slight improvement.
When you set the main goal, it is important to define smaller sub-goals and specific behaviors that will lead you to the very end. Keep track of the relationship between the energy you put in achieving the sub-goals, and the changes in your mood. Hear me please, what you need to become aware of is that you can reward yourself. Start by evaluating your progress and think about the obstacles you’ve had to overcome, while you were heading towards your accomplishments. Positive, constructive rewards are a variable that has an enormous impact on our behavior.
Most importantly, the way in which we speak to ourselves can have the function of self-rewarding or self-punishment. What you don’t want happening, is letting pessimism make you incapable of self-rewarding, and susceptible to self-punishment.
A negative self-image is best friends with hopelessness and helplessness. Of course, this also makes it your biggest enemy! Negative evaluation of yourself can lead to a vicious cycle of safe-blame and mistrust in yourself, as well as everything around you.
In such situations, it is very challenging to see any progress in whatever you do, and you may be inclined to think that you are not good or worthy. Luckily, you can take charge of your self-image, since it can be defined as a list of inner dialogues, even with other countries. None of us are truly alone, and our creator made it that way. Let down your weapons.

Uninstalled Facebook app and deactivated my Twitter again. Ugh.
My therapist asked me how much time I'd want to spend on my phone, ideally. I told her, ideally, it'd never use it, and I'd use it all the time. I tend to live in these black-and-whites but only when it comes to my own behavior.
Ideally I would never use it. But my brain wants to use it most of the time. For decades it's been a way to not think, because thinking can be painful. As a result my attention span has waned, my creativity has shriveled, and the act of sitting alone with my thoughts feels like withdrawel. I blather endlessly and have to resist the urge to opine on everything because everyone says you must have an opinion.
It's dumb. I need it to a degree to stay in contact with my friends, to navigate, to know what's going on in the world. I also get beautiful art from it, I meet lovely people, I share things I'm proud of and store memories. I journal, like this, even though I have a real physical journal, just because it sometimes feels better to toss it out in front of a handful of people who might relate.
Ugggh. Ughuggugh. I use a productivity app to limit usage but then someone starts messaging me and I have to turn the limit off so I don't disappear on them. I need to get better at just leaving it in another room. It's almost laughable how bad I am at it. I feel like to used to have iron self control, then started giving myself breaks and compassion, and now I have very little.
I've been trying to learn to draw again. I'm exercising when I can get myself too. My therapist days rewards are important and I need to look at any progress as a great success instead of "not enough".
Ok, bye.

Rottweiler Puppies: Robust Working Breed of Great Strength Descended
As you can see in the pictures above, Rottweiler puppies are very cute. Rottweilers, like Pit Bulls, have a bad reputation that isn't fair.
Rottweilers can be aggressive and possessive like any other breed if they aren't trained or socialized properly. This breed does not tend to be aggressive, which is good news for you. People think of them as loving, devoted, goofy people who want to make their families happy.
Tumblr media
Getting started
The Rottweiler breed is strong and sure of itself. Its amazing mix of strength and loyalty has won the hearts of dog lovers. Rottweiler puppies are especially cute because they are both playful and have a natural instinct to protect.
How to Get Ready for a Rottweiler Pup
Food: You need to give your growing Rottweiler puppy high-quality puppy food that helps them grow. Brands like Royal Canin Rottweiler Puppy Food and Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy Food offer a balanced diet.
Give your Rottweiler puppy a safe place to live by giving it a comfortable bed, strong toys, and places to play and rest. Remember that Rottweilers are big dogs that need a lot of room to move around.
Take Care Method: A well-adjusted Rottweiler is based on trust, which is built by socializing the dog early on and giving it positive feedback. Spend time every day training, grooming, and moving them to keep them happy and healthy.
How to Get a Rottweiler Puppy or Adopt One
Average Price: A Rottweiler puppy can cost anywhere from $500 to $2500, depending on things like lineage, pedigree, and the breeder's reputation.
Adoption Communities: You can find good breeders and rescue groups through Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, and Twitter handles that are all about adopting Rottweilers.
Before you bring a Rottweiler puppy into your home, make sure it has a clean bill of health, up-to-date vaccinations, and a written record of its medical history. This makes sure they are safe and that the change goes well.
Rescue Groups: "Rottweiler Rescue USA," "Rottweiler Rescue UK," and "Rottweiler Rescue Canada" are all well-known Rottweiler rescue groups.
How to Plan for the Life of a Rottweiler Puppy
Advice: If you want to raise a Rottweiler puppy well, you need to be patient, dedicated, and start training them when they are young. If you train and socialize your Rottweiler, it will grow up to be a loyal and protective friend.
To meet their physical and mental needs, give them a balanced diet, a safe place to live, toys that make them think, and regular grooming.
Vaccinations: Rottweiler puppies need shots for distemper, parvovirus, and rabies. Talk to your vet about making a custom vaccination schedule for them to keep their health in good shape.
Questions People Ask Most Often About Rottweiler Puppies
To stop a Rottweiler puppy from biting, you should teach it to bite the right toys and avoid rough play. This kind of behavior can be stopped if the dog is socialized early, trained consistently, and rewarded for good behavior.
Socialization and Raising a Friendly Dog: Let your Rottweiler puppy meet different people, animals, and places during the socialization phase. This helps a dog be confident and well-behaved as it grows up.
Use positive reinforcement to teach your Rottweiler puppies the basic commands and behaviors you want them to do. With patience and praise, along with regular training sessions, you can get good results.
It takes a lot of time, knowledge, and care to raise a Rottweiler puppy. By giving them the right care, training, and love as they grow up, you create a bond that will lead to a lifelong friendship based on trust and mutual respect.

Facebook needs Jetman
Tumblr media
After reading the article on behavioral science, I was reminded of the reason why I created my Facebook account at the age of 13 - the game Jetman. It was a simple game where you had to click the mouse to fly up and release it to fall down while avoiding obstacles.  I can relate this game to the article’s duration effect - it was a short game but you could play it several times, so it was very easy to lose track of time while playing. Because it was a short game, if you lose you could start again right away, getting the bad experiences out of the way early. Also, most of the times that you made a good game, you were rewarded with new skins, making the game finishing strong.
Jetman was not the only game that used this strategy, and I recall my friends and family playing several games on Facebook in our younger years. To attract young people back to Facebook, the platform could invest in creating more of these types of games. This approach could also differentiate Facebook from Instagram, which does not offer games, thereby reducing the potential cannibalization between the two platforms.

Saturday Morning Coffee
I’m on my second cup. The first one disappeared while putting together this post.
Kolby, our puppers, decided he wanted to get up at 7AM. He doesn’t understand the concept of weekends. That’s ok, I still love him.
Tumblr media
Platformer: “Elon Musk took over Twitter on Thursday like a military general who had assumed power by force, purging the company’s ruling regime and replacing it with the singular effect of his personality.”
Dear Advertiser, The reason I bought twitter is because,,,The Delaware Chancery Court made me.
— Scott Galloway (@profgalloway) October 28, 2022
The Verge: “Twitter is a disaster clown car company that is successful despite itself, and there is no possible way to grow users and revenue without making a series of enormous compromises that will ultimately destroy your reputation and possibly cause grievous damage to your other companies.”
The Elon era has begun. Will it be a total disaster or will he turn it around? One thing is for sure, the platform is poised to become more extreme and folks are fleeing. I plan on sticking around because I’m addicted but I also have my Mastodon instance and enjoy it. Read on for a link to a getting started with Mastodon post.
Per Axbom: “Let’s face it, Mastodon can be as confusing as it is rewarding. Especially if you are used to something else (like Twitter). The trick is always to minimise the frustrations and get on with the social benefits. And breathe. And find amusement in the chaos. Here are some tips to help y0u on your way.”
Here we are, a nice piece on getting started with Mastodon. I really do enjoy it. It’s a federation of little Twitters minus the advertising and each instance has the ability to define their own rules and controls which other instances it will allow pairing with. Basically if you have a garbage instance like Gab you can block them from participating with your network. There are a few out there, but most are excellent and provide great diversity in the community.
Apple Security Engineering: “To inaugurate our security research blog, we present the first in a series of technical posts that delves into important memory safety upgrades in XNU, the kernel at the core of iPhone, iPad, and Mac.”
If you’ve ever written any C or C++ code you know the power of the language as well as the pitfalls. This is a really nice post on Apple’s pursuit to harden the XNU kernel at the heart of their products. Great read.
Reuters: “Oct 26 (Reuters) - Skechers USA Inc (SKX.N) said on Wednesday its executives escorted Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, out of a Los Angeles corporate office, after the rapper and fashion designer ‘showed up unannounced and uninvited’.”
Our society has two sets of rules; one for the rich and one for the rest of us. Kanye definitely exercises his privilege every chance he gets.
The man is an antisemite and should be shunned by society. His behavior of late is stirring an already vile nest of hornets into a frenzy.
We cannot tolerate that behavior.
Ed Zitron: “As I’ve written before, I do not think much of Mark Zuckerberg as a CEO.”
I’m no fan of Facebook and I don’t feel bad for the folks who continue to serve this company. You know what you’re doing. If you have anything resembling a soul remaining, get out now.
Meta is a profoundly unethical and increasingly incompetent company, and it starts at the top, with Mark. https://t.co/2sGmrLKcw5
— Grady Booch (@Grady_Booch) October 27, 2022
The Daily Beast: “Guillermo del Toro effusively loves all things ghoulish, grotesque, and squishy—not to mention that he has a particular fondness for dank subterranean locales and slimy tentacled beasts.”
I’ve been looking forward to the release of Cabinet of Curiosities for some time now. We haven’t started watching but we most certainly will be, soon I hope.

This tutorial explains how to buy Yelp reviews. We cover everything, including dangers.
Money can buy many things, but not a good reputation, not with Yelp watching.
It may seem like a tragedy at first. Wouldn’t it be easier if you could pay for positive Yelp reviews or offer discounts or free goods in exchange for reviews? These postings would bring in new customers who would be so impressed with your service that they’d provide honest feedback.
That’s not how things work, cowboy.
Paying for Yelp reviews may go unnoticed, and the reviews that follow may help your business, but it’s far more likely that this method would harm your image. Why?
We’ll discuss a more effective approach in a moment. Some details first…
Yelp’s Function
Yelp may be the most credible review site, above Facebook or Angie’s List.
Yelp’s reliability contributes to its popularity. The website has more than 224 million reviews and is used by companies worldwide.
Our website focuses on the customer, and the team knows that users won’t trust reviews if they can’t trust the information. Yelp has strict guidelines about phony reviews, including evaluations by company employees and bought recommendations.
Recipe’s Secret
The website uses a complex algorithm to filter out fraudulent, incentivized, or dishonest reviews. Because the website errs on the side of caution, both genuine and fake reviews are filtered out.
It analyzes many data points to determine which reviews are fake. Yelp isn’t very forthcoming with system information, so it’s hard to deceive. Even if you pay people with active Yelp accounts to review your business, Yelp may investigate… This could get you in trouble.
Yelp cases
Assume you’ve decided to buy Yelp reviews. Ideally, they’d be uploaded to your Yelp page and viewed. Unlikely.
Customers won’t be able to view them because they’ll likely be filtered out days after being uploaded. If so, you’ve wasted your money and have nothing to show for your efforts.
If that’s the worst that happens to you, consider yourself lucky…
Because the alternative is worse. Yelp has Consumer Alerts. It reveals a company’s unethical behavior. If your page contains fraudulent reviews and is flagged for action, the website will display a banner warning visitors not to trust you.
The banner will remain in its current location for at least three months, reminding thousands of consumers that you were suspected of buying reviews.
Offering money or other incentives for reviews could get you in trouble with the FTC (FTC). Reward doesn’t justify risk.
Yelp’s Benefits
If you were considering buying Yelp reviews, this is bad news. Not true. This is a reminder of Yelp’s power and why using it responsibly can help your online reputation.
Regular Yelpers know the site only posts reviews written by real customers. They’re more likely to trust any ratings they see on your page.
After that, make sure you get mostly positive reviews.
Correctly obtaining positive opinions
When you have happy customers, you can be moral and still get more Yelp ratings.
But don’t rely solely on Yelp ratings and reviews. It’s an essential review site, but so are Facebook, Google, TripAdvisor, and many others. Your complete online review profile includes all of these sites, and prospective clients read each one. That’s why it’s so important to get reviews on a variety of sites.
Automate the review-gathering process with ReputationStacker. It does this by asking clients a single question to see who had a good experience. Then, it directs your happy customers to the review sites you choose so they can leave a review while the event is still fresh in their minds.
We’ve heard that doing so will not only result in more good testimonials for you than buying them, but will also save you money.
You shouldn’t buy reviews; earn them.
You may be curious about how to buy Yelp reviews, but you probably already know it’s not a good idea for your company’s or your own reputation.
You can use your existing Yelp reviews to your advantage and generate new reviews using a variety of methods.
We’ll discuss many of these ways below.
Thank feedback
If you respond to comments on your Yelp page, even if there’s little criticism, you can show visitors that your top priority is providing a high-quality product (or service) and ensuring customer satisfaction.
You can encourage visitors to leave Yelp reviews by offering incentives. You can create review incentive signs similarly to how you would make clients aware of your page with signs or reminders from yourself or your employees.
Show customers your Yelp profile
Most of your clients probably won’t search for your company on Yelp to post a review. Most consumers won’t even consider writing a review, and many don’t know your business has a Yelp page.
Making your product or service more accessible to customers is a great way to get free reviews.
This can be as simple as asking customers to post a review on Yelp as they leave or encouraging staff to mention Yelp to customers as they leave. Thanks for visiting! Reminding clients to leave reviews on Yelp is helpful.
You can also make signs asking customers to review you on Yelp. Place these signs where customers can see them as they leave, such as at their tables (if you run a restaurant) or the checkout counter.
These deals must entice consumers, not just Yelp 5-star reviewers. They should attract customers. Limiting incentives to customers who gave your company five stars will look dishonest to consumers and may discourage them from leaving reviews.
Instead, use generic, all-purpose language. “Share your experience on Yelp!” We’d love your input. Bring a copy of your review on your next visit and get 10% off any purchase.
Critical reviews
On the other hand, Yelp customer complaints may be helpful. Former clients’ constructive feedback can shed light on your company’s day-to-day operations.
Criticism, though unpleasant, can help you better serve customers and attract new ones. You can answer Yelp reviews. Fix any mistakes you made and make amends with the customer.
This will fix any disagreements between your company and the dissatisfied client and show future customers that you care about their satisfaction.
Customer trust
Trust between businesses and customers is crucial for Yelp reviews. Gaining your clients’ trust is crucial if you want more positive reviews. Can you explain? In addition to telling the truth and avoiding buying Yelp reviews, you should listen to your customers.
Consistency
Be consistent. Customers visit your company expecting certain products or services. Before making changes to your business’s operations or products and services, consider if they will benefit and appeal to your existing customers.
Openness to customer needs and preferences can increase positive Yelp reviews.
Conclusion
Invest in company growth instead of buying Yelp reviews.
Because Yelp’s monitoring methods are so sophisticated, businesses that pay for reviews (with cash or by incentivizing consumers) often find their efforts counterproductive. The website detects and eliminates fake reviews and may publicly disgrace businesses that have purchased reviews.
Paying for reviews will ruin your reputation.
Reputation Stacker is the better option. It surveys your customers and sends satisfied ones to review sites of your choosing, where they can post genuine, positive reviews you’ve earned by doing things right.

Daily Devotionals for June 25, 2023
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 19:19-20(KJV): 19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. 20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. Proverbs 19:19-20(NIV): 19 A man of great wrath shall suffer the penalty, for if you deliver him (from the consequences), he will (feel free to) cause you to do it again. 20 Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come.
Thought for the Day
Verse 19 - Habitually angry people repeat their offenses. Trying to help a person with a bad temper is futile; it will not change him. He will just get into another scrape and expect you to get him out of it. Parents can fall into this trap very easily, especially if they have a rebellious child who ends up in jail, and they pay their fines over and over again. Until a person truly repents his anger and learns to forgive, he will never be free from an ingrained bad temper. Only the Lord can help a person do this.
I can think of a good example of this that occurred when a friend called me. She was a young woman who went to our church and called me in desperation. She wanted me to help her boyfriend who had been jailed for not paying his traffic fines. It would only cost $75.00 to get him out of jail, and since I cared for her, I went down to the jail to facilitate his release by paying his fine. Since he would not be able to drive for a season, I waited for the jailer to bring him out, so that I could give him a ride home. I was shocked when, as the jailer brought him out to meet us, he began cursing the policemen, the jailer, and the system. He did not even bother to slow down his speech long enough to thank me for helping him. I immediately took him by the arm, told him to be quiet, and dragged him out of there quickly before he was arrested again!
When anger and rebellion fill a person's heart, the mere fact that you are kind and try to help him does not mean that he will change his behavior. He must be willing to change before you can help him, just as this verse says: "If you deliver an angry man, you will have to do it again." It was not long before this same young man was back in jail, this time for violating his driving restrictions. The only way we helped him the next time was to pray for him to come to the end of his rebellion so that he could truly be helped.
Verse 20 - This verse tells us that the way to change is to listen to counsel and receive instruction. If we do that, we will be wise in the time to come. Biblical instruction will keep us from destruction and error if we heed it. The keeping of God's Word will bring great reward. God's laws are given so that we might live a good life on this earth  (Psalm 19:7-11).
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, we thank You that You have given us the Bible so that we might receive godly wisdom and learn how to live by it. Lord, we know that by following Your advice, we will be saved from much heartache in this world. Help us to walk in the Spirit so that we will have Your discernment as to the things we should, and should not do. Guide us by Your Holy Spirit in all of our affairs. Help us to overcome any tendencies toward anger, as we do not want to become angry men and women. Let us be gentle and forgiving in our dealings with others. We ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. From: Steven P.
