#Bad Batch thoughts

So I thought it was obvious that when AZI told Crosshair that the problem is in his head, he was talking about this:
Tumblr media
Does AZI remember this (he was there I believe)? Does Crosshair remember this? Do Hunter and the others remember being separated in prison in the pilot ep? Did they ever wonder what happened to Crosshair during that time they were separated?
I feel like the more answers we get about this scene in particular, the more certain my feelings will be about Crosshair (and S3 in general). Was his chip removed after this enhancement? (Crosshair does say his chip was taken out). Does this procedure fade over time like the chip’s effectiveness? We don’t know (as far as I know—please let me know otherwise).
Personally, I headcanon that the chip was removed after this procedure to test the effectiveness of the chip enhancer, essentially ‘burning the chip’ into his brain permanently. I also think its effects fade over time like the chip, which would explain why Crosshair’s view on Omega changes over time.
Just rambling about specifics at this point I guess cuz I don’t wanna really talk about S3 until all the episodes are out.

Hi ! Hope you're doing well ❤️
Just here for another request if you don't mind ☺️ I was wondering how the members of the Bad Batch would help/comfort the reader who's really stressed because of school (like a lot of projects to turn in and reader is stressed because they don't have motivation to work but know they have to) ?
Let's say I'm a bit in that situation right now (have a lot of work to do but no motivation even though I don't have much time to finish them) and I just need some comfort from the boys 🥺 have a good day/night ❤️
I'm so sorry to hear you're having a rough go with school 🥺🫂 I know it's hard! You've got this, love!!
How the Bad Batch would help you during struggles in school...
Hunter
He would know quicker than anyone that something is troubling you (enhanced senses and all)
When you tell him you're struggling with your schoolwork and just are lacking motivation, he asks if there's anything he can do to help
If you say yes, he'll do whatever you ask to the best of his ability
If you say no/you don't know, he'll go ahead and still offer words of encouragement as well as offer suggestions as to how to keep you motivated
"You've got this, trooper. I understand this is hard for you, but I believe in you. You'll get through this, I know it."
Echo
He'll bring you water and food to help keep your energy up when you tell him you're tired, but need to keep working on your project
If it's anything involving mechanics, he considers himself a bit of an expert in that field and would be glad to help if he can
He offers to stay with you and help keep you on task
He's good about keeping your morale up when you start to give up and encourages you to keep going
"I know you can do this. You're smart and hardworking. This project won't get the better of you because you're the best. Keep going!"
Tech
Of course, being the exceptionally-minded one, he's quick to come sit with you and offer whatever knowledge you require for your work
He tells you that taking breaks throughout your work is beneficial for your health so you don't experience burnout
He'll gladly offer assistance in making sure you're doing your assignments correctly
Not only that, but if he sees you've made any errors, instead of telling you "you're wrong", he'll explain how to find the correct answer and guide you so you can figure it out on your own
"If you give up now, you will surely fail, and failure is not in our nature. I shall endeavor to ensure you succeed, no matter what it takes."
Wrecker
He might not really know what it is you're working on, but he's willing to still do whatever he can think of to cheer you up
Lula suddenly ends up next to you and he informs you she's a good study buddy
Pats on the back and playful arm nudges are a must from him to let you know how well you're doing
If you happen to be studying anything about weapons or explosives, he'll get excited and offer to help you, as well...otherwise, he'll just direct you to Tech
"Studying and projects were hard for me, too. You're not alone. But don't worry, everyone moves at their own pace and you'll get to the end in no time!"
Crosshair
At first, he wonders why you're making such a fuss over doing work, but when he sees how tired and miserable you are, he has a change in demeanor
He'll sit beside you and ask, a bit calmer, what’s troubling you about your project
He's more of a tough love kind of guy; he'll tell you that moping around and not feeling motivated will get you nowhere
If it looks like you're faltering, he'll give you a nudge in the arm and make sure you keep at it
"I'm not going to let you give up because I know you're above this silly project. You're going to do great things...and I'm going to be there when you do."
I could've used these guys when I was in school, dang it!! 😆

I think Hunter should listen to the message from Crosshair himself. He has the enhanced hearing sensitivity, he might be able to pick up on things Tech couldn’t hear.

I’m avoiding reality by looking at tumblr and I NEED to know how well you think each of the Bad Batch would do playing Just Dance 😂 I just KNOW Wrecker would be very into it but idk about the quality of the dance moves lmao
Same, Anon, same. Very well, I shall put in my two cents. Thank you for the ask!!
I agree that Wrecker would be super into it and probably go hardcore. He does all the spins, ducks, and jumps without hesitation. I think out of the Batch, he'd be the one who plays it the most with Omega. And as a result of that, I headcanon that while the moves may not be spot-on, he does a pretty darn good job from doing it so often! He's the guy who ends up knowing every single dance to every song.
Echo is probably the second-most-experienced Just Dancer only because I think he'd end up doing it a bunch of times with Omega. He's got a soft spot for the kid and can't help but enjoy seeing her happy and having fun, and he ends up getting into it along the way. I think he'd even get competitive and try to top his and Wrecker's previous top scores.
Crosshair is just...no. He refuses. You won't catch him doing it ever, but he'll watch everyone else with a toothpick between his teeth and taunt them. Especially Wrecker, even though he's one of the best Just Dancers in the group.
Hunter will do it once in a while after tons of begging from Omega and a challenge from Wrecker. He's a little awkward and rigid, stares directly at the screen the whole time and barely moves his feet. Still, no one has the heart to make fun (except Crosshair).
Tech plays more often than Hunter, but not nearly as much as Wrecker or Echo. He is very focused on getting the moves exactly right that ironically he loses rhythm and doesn't score as many points. He'll be sure to point out how he should've gotten points for the gold move. Still insists on keeping his dancing style and getting frustrated over the lack of points.

So I got around to rewatching the Bad Batch S2 finale and I wanna do an official review.
I’d done one here after I saw the finale but those were just preliminary thoughts.
Warnings—Spoilers for BB obviously, theories about S3? Idk lemme know if I need to add more
Alright, so let’s get into it.
For this review, I wanted to rewatch and see if I missed anything. I’ll try and go in order.
I stated before that I thought the Tech/Phee goodbye was a bit awkward. But I actually didn’t mind that? It really shows how Tech interacts with others (besides clones/CF99).
When the Batch needed a clearance code to pass, Echo mentions that he obtained a code from one of his contacts. I definitely thought he was talking about Scorch.
I thought Eriadu (idk spelling) was a beautiful setting. Again, once I saw the rail cars, I instantly thought of AtLA The Boiling Rock. I liked that Krennic was brought back from Rogue One and the ‘star dust’ reference. I thought he was ok in Rogue One (he wasn’t a bad villain, but not the best).
Omega planting the homing beacon and that whole sneaking sequence felt very…idk like something they’ve done lots of times on random missions. It was ok but not very suspenseful. I will say that I was very surprised to see Saw Gerrera again.
Honestly I thought Saw never should’ve pushed the button—even before knowing what happened. I knew nothing good would come of it because his ideas/plans post-CW have always been…extreme. I assumed that the power was connected to the facility so I never wanted him to push the button and I was proven right when the episode ends with the deactive rail car w/ CF99 trapped inside.
Going into the final ep, Plan 99, I knew right off the bat someone would sacrifice themselves. Honestly, I had assumed for most of S2 (since the episode names were revealed online) that Crosshair would be the one to sacrifice himself for Omega, though I had assumed something would happen to Tech as well (he’s been getting lots of development this season and you know Mr. Felony doesn’t like clones w/ development). As the scene played out, I started feeling more and more certain that Tech was gonna be the one to die, especially once he separated from the group to power the car back on.
Now…for Tech’s sacrifice. There’s some stuff to unpack so let’s get to it. First and foremost, I personally believe Tech IS NOT dead! We all know Star Wars. Nothing ever stays dead. Darth Maul, Anakin, Palpatine, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Echo, and Gregor are all characters that have seemingly ‘been killed’ then come back (Ahsoka too w/ Ezra saving her). You could also argue that Quigon, Yoda, Luke/Leia, and Han Solo also came back after death in force ghost form. Now there are characters that have been killed and stayed that way. Jabba, Shmi Skywalker, Padme (and her double Corday), Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, and LOTS of clones (Thorn, Keeli, Jesse, Rancor Battalion, Waxer, Tup, Fives, 99) are all killed and stay that way so I’m not saying that Tech permanently being dead is impossible, I just personally think Tech is alive (obviously fucking hurt as fuck tho).
Tech prides himself on being able to think clearly in stressful situations so you can bet this man was scrambling for ideas as he fell. The most logical thing would be to get inside the damaged car, but I suppose he could also try and use his surroundings as he got closer to the ground to try and slow himself (ex: grappling hook onto a tree or something). We’ve already seen Hunter fall out of the Marauder on Daro in S1.
We also never saw Tech’s body. This seems rather obvious as so many people have mentioned this reason. When Hunter confronts Dr. Hemlock, the doc reveals Tech’s goggles and says ‘this was all we could salvage’. Not ‘rescue’, ‘save’, recover’, or even ‘find’. I take his wording to mean that he has seen Tech. Hemlock has admitted to experimenting on clones and he already has Crosshair. I would think having the ‘full set’ of CF99 to experiment on would be right up Hemlock’s alley. Given how smart Tech is, I would think Hemlock would see the value in having advanced intellect in science regarding cloning and want to do anything/everything he can to save Tech/his brain.
In CW S7, it’s stated that Tech records everything with his goggles so it’s possible he has files/logs/video of what happened as he was falling (his POV—like what they did w/ Omega). I want to add in Phee’s goodbye as well. It was awkward and I believe it was intentional to make Tech’s return more emotional.
There are just too many open-ended variables that make me think Tech is alive. Tbh I could see it going either way. Obviously if Tech is alive, he will not be the same (like Echo). Personally I believe Hemlock has Tech and is experimenting on him to make him a dark trooper. I think Hemlock wants to use all of CF99s enhanced mutations but has Nala Se work on Palpy’s immortality project cuz he’s not as good at cloning as the Kaminoans are.
I know none of us want to hear it, but it is possible that Tech is really dead. 99 sacrificed himself for his brothers and that’s what made his death so impactful and emotional (the same with Tech). While I don’t think bringing someone back from the dead ‘diminishes’ or takes away from moment, it definitely has to be done right to be successful.
In short, it could go either way, BUT I HOPE HE IS ALIVE (AND I WILL NOT BE TAKING CRITICISMS).
AND WRECKER!!! He’s afraid of heights and saw Tech fall to his death. That’s gotta be traumatizing! It isn’t addressed in the show really but that just seemed too important to let slide.
I wanna say before moving on, SAW GERRERA IS TRASH. Absolute trash. I blame him for everything that happened in the last ep.
I thought the scene of Omega’s POV was pretty cool and reminded me of Hunter’s POV scene in S1 after Cad Bane shot him. I’m glad they brought up AZI, I was worried they just forgot about him/left him behind.
I’ll be honest, I expected a lot more out of Omega’s emotions/emotional range this last episode. She’s clearly upset about Tech, and I felt bad for her, but I definitely expected full on ugly sobbing. I’ve always had a problem with how they’ve portrayed Omega’s emotional range (particularly w/ sadness), even in S1, so I’m not surprised, just disappointed. I know she was raised by Kaminoans/Nala Se, but she’s been w/ the Batch for a while and she’s just a kid.
I saw Cid’s betrayal a mile away. I didn’t like that she looked remorseful either. She’s always been shady and done what’s in her best interest. Why change now? I hope this is the last we see of Cid. I don’t want her to have a redemption arc. I’ve always hated her character.
I mentioned before that I didn’t mind Omega disobeying Hunter and it mirrors Tech’s last words ‘When have we ever followed orders?’. I also obviously knew Omega was gonna get taken, it was set up earlier w/ Lama Su in a previous episode. Scorch being the one to stun Omega and be her escort kind of makes me wonder if my theory about him being Echo’s contact is true.
As stated earlier in a different post, I hated how Hunter switches from going to go get Crosshair to wanting to rescue Omega instead. Yes, Omega is a child and she is in danger, but Tech sacrificed himself trying to rescue Crosshair. I think the Imperial scientists and Nala Se would rather kill Crosshair instead of Omega. She is useful to them. It’s possible Crosshair is too now that he’s been experimented on, but for Palpatine’s uses, I believe Omega would be more important. This is just my opinion.
Lastly, that ending. I haven’t talked much about Emerie Karr, the Imperial scientist but the first time I saw her, I immediately questioned if she was a clone. Her nose shape and skin tone along with her accent made it pretty obvious that the answer is yes. Once Karr said Omega’s name I was 100% sure, so the reveal that she is Omega’s sister wasn’t surprising at all. I learned that Emerie Karr’s VA is also from NZ which explains why she and Omega sound alike.
So…what did I think of the finale?
I’ve sort of got a mixed reaction to the finale.
I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either.
I did like a couple ideas they tried to convey throughout the episode like Omega trying to help and getting captured, Saw Gerrera being at fault if unintentionally, Omega’s POV of her waking up hurt, Tech’s sacrifice, the ost/music, and the casual star dust/Krennic appearance.
However, having said that, there are things I disliked. The twists with Cid’s betrayal and the Emerie Karr reveal were predictable and obvious. I hated Hunter switching priorities from rescuing Crosshair to rescuing Omega (since at this point Hunter has no reason to think the two of them are together). Tech sacrificed himself to rescue Crosshair. Omega is needed for cloning/experimentation but Crosshair is a defiant ‘defective’ clone. As stated earlier, it’s possible since Crosshair’s also been experimented on that he is also valuable, but Omega being an unaltered female Jango clone makes her more viable for Palpatine’s uses.
And lastly, I’m extremely disappointed by Omega’s emotional range. It’s a mix of the voice acting/writing and animation. I really was expecting ugly sobbing like Powder from Arcane since Omega was one of the 2 of CF99 to witness Tech’s sacrifice. Yes she sounded upset and desperate when she woke up and Hunter told her what happened, but I expected unintelligible, messy sobbing.
Speaking of Arcane comparisons. Saw’s explosives. Idk if they were trying to emulate Arcane or what but it didn’t work. He wanted to help (his cause). Had he wanted to help the group (like Powder), I might be a little more on the fence about his decision to blow up the compound but he clearly had conflicting ideas and THEY TOLD HIM NOT TO.
After having been pretty disappointed by S2, I just wanted it to be good. Of course I had my own thoughts/ideas of what would happen and literally nothing matched with what was shown. I thought Omega was gonna get taken right off the bat, I thought Crosshair was gonna sacrifice himself for Omega, and I definitely thought Crosshair was gonna get more screen time.
I also didn’t like the layout of the finale.
If I could do it myself—Omega should’ve been captured right off the bat to give her some time w/ Crosshair (simultaneously giving him more screen time and having the Emerie Karr reveal). I think the sneaking around/tracker planting scene could’ve been Crosshair and Omega breaking out of a cell trying to escape. That’s when CF99 discover the bombs from Saw Gerrera.
Crosshair should’ve been the one to make the sacrifice. OBVIOUSLY THEY ALL DESERVE A NORMAL LIFE ON PABU, but if it came down to it, I would’ve wanted Crosshair to sacrifice himself for Omega and CF99. It would finally put Hunter’s doubts about the sniper at ease. While I don’t mind a cliffhanger, I think it has to be good. Ending on the Emerie Karr reveal was not. It should’ve left off w/ Hemlock and Crosshair/Tech and it’s left up to viewers if he’s alive. Or Cody in a beat up ship heading to a beige planet w/ 2 suns and him saying ‘I’m coming General’ or something.
Because of the controversy around BB, I’m surprised they’d leave S2 off in a way that kind of guarantees a 3rd season. S3 IS NOT CONFIRMED AS OF THIS POST.
If there is a S3…
I’m on the fence about continuing watching. People like Brad Rau have poorly addressed the whitewashing situation in BB and no one has said anything about Echo and ableism. As it is I never watched any of the eps when they came out. I waited a few days cuz I wasn’t excited to watch.
I can pretty much guarantee that if we do get a S3, it’s going to be more of the same. The clone model will be the same, CF99 will be the same, Omega will still be white. And that really puts me off this fucking show. I’m really into baking shows so BB always felt like having a chef bake a perfect cake and lets a 3yr old decorate it. It has good concepts/ideas/music, but the execution is awful. It is not the lighting. It is not the art style. Those saying that Tem is white because he is half-white diminishes his Māori heritage. He has Māori blood so he is Māori.
I would watch S3 if…
—Cid left/died. Get rid of her. Absolutely
—Cody had more screen time
—Boba is introduced**
—More Empire-focused story
—All of Delta Squad is shown
**As long as Boba doesn’t look like he did in Rako Hardeen arc in CW**
So I think that’s it for my thoughts on the Bad Batch finale. Not great, but not horrible and even though I’ve got ideas of my own for a S3, I’m not really looking forward to it and if I decide to watch S3, I will wait for all episodes then binge it all.
Thanks for reading💖

Crosshair and Hunter being so in tune that they can accurately figure out each other’s most deeply held regrets without having a single real conversation and then exclusively using that knowledge to make each other angry is the realest thing this whole episode

I can’t help but think about a scene where Crosshair boards the Marauder and finds his armour, weapon kit and Lula still there and feeling so wanted.
Crosshair: you didn’t get rid of my stuff?
Wrecker: why would we? We knew you’d come back.

I just had a wild thought. Spoilers for Bad Batch so stop reading now. There are videos surfacing with extended footage of S2 of Bad Batch (it’s not that much longer only like 20-30 sec maybe) but it includes obviously more Omega screen time but also Cody and Crosshair talking, as if they will be working together for S2. And it’s well established that Dave Filoni had/has plans for a showdown between Rex and Cody. We know Cody still has his chip. In BB S1, Crosshair tells Hunter (and the rest of the Batch) that he had his chip removed ‘a long time ago’. I don’t think he’s lying. Crosshair isn’t shown to be a liar. He’s blunt, severe and unyielding. He tells it like it is. My personal HC is that Crosshair had his chip taken out right after Tarkin told the Kaminoans (forget if it was a random scientist or Nala Se) to enhance the chip. This is the only time I can see ‘a long time ago’ meaning and the only way to test the ‘enhancements’ effectiveness would be to remove the chip to see if the effects became permanent. But this isn’t confirmed, just a thought (I also HC that about 2-3 weeks pass between each episode so about a whole yr passes between S1 and S2).
It’s established that the Batch know a few ‘reg’ clones (mostly from the 501st and the 212th) from S7 of CW. The Batch already know who Cody is so I think when Crosshair sees Cody again, he’ll not only remember ‘the good times’ with his brothers, but he’ll really start to understand and realize that this is not the same Cody from the Anaxes mission (or any missions before since Rex knows they ‘sometimes report to Commander Cody’) and the Empire is responsible for Cody’s change. I think ‘chipped’ Cody would be more intense than un-chipped Crosshair and Cross will be unsure about even telling Cody about the chip’s existence (at this point very few outside Empire and the Kaminoans know about the inhibitor chips and are alive—Rex, Ahsoka, possibly Cut?? Idk I remember seeing that somewhere but wasn’t sure if it was true). I really hope they show more of Crosshair’s morality in S2 and show him struggle with the truth of things. I hope seeing Cody again will bring up feelings for Crosshair and I want to see him struggle with telling Cody about the chips.
So yeah…I guess that’s it..I like talking about Star Wars stuff haha and anyone is invited to share their thoughts as well
Thanks readers 💕

Heyo!! How are you? Just popping in to ask what your headcanons are about the Batch's sleeping habits! Who's the biggest night owl? Who's the earliest riser?
Hey Rainy!! Long time, no see, my darlin!! 💜
Tumblr media
Hmm the Bad Batch sleeping habits!
Well, I would say Tech is the biggest night owl because he stays up on his datapad all night and easily loses track of time. Hunter or Echo have to remind him to go to sleep sometimes.
Wrecker, being the big kid that he is, will try and stay up late, but once he's comfortable and snuggled up with Lula, he's out like a light. He's like a young child that way.
Crosshair and Hunter value their sleep, so they're definitely the ones who go to sleep first and are early risers.
Echo is in between. He has trouble sleeping sometimes, so he'll stay up with Tech and go to bed when he does. Other times, if he's more exhausted, he'll be calling it a night early with Crosshair or Hunter.
Now I just want to cuddle up in bed with these boys... 🥰🥰

So I had a long conversation with someone about wrecker and why he isn't seen as a father figure as much as hunter is. And I don't know why it took me so long to notice it . I have always believed that wrecker is the closest thing omega has to a father figure. But hunter is giving all the credit in the fandom. It's the same as when a father does the bare minimum and people shower them with All the praise and mother's with nothing. Wrecker acts more maternal in a traditional way than any other batcher does. You might think I'm off my rocker with this but hear me out. Think about the traditional mother figure ? They are more physical ,normally emotionally, sentimental, and detailed oriented. Wrecker is the most hands on bad batcher than anyone else. He knew she needed space so he found a way to provide it for her with a privacy curtain and everything. Next he provided her with his doll. He didn't have to but he knew she needed a toy. Through his own love for food they started a tradition and they bonded over mantel mix . It's like a little special thing only they did together .it made her feel special. I put money wreck was the one that saved all of crosshairs stuff for sentimental value . I'm sure they still have all of techs things too. It's like the baby books a lot of moms want to do . I'm sure there are sentimental dads to but when most people think they think in hetero normative terms it goes to mothers. You can't forget that he was teaching her about bombs and tech was teaching her about ships and flying . What has hunter really done beside being the stand offish father that worries about your physical safety. Wrecker was even the first to greet her after omega return.if it wasn't for omega I think wrecker is the glue to the bad batch.
Side bar when wrecker hugged both crosshair and hunter at the same time if was giving mama bear vibes just saying..
