BTS Reaction || Your Father Is A Famous Actor

SEOKJIN:

Jin had been worried sick on the build-up to meeting your father, he'd been overthinking everything wondering if your father - Skeet Ulrich - was even going to like him. What if he didn't like him and stopped you from seeing one another?

"It's so nice to finally meet you, Yn talks about you all the time." Your dad said making you glare at him, but he simply hugged Jin tightly and chuckled.

"Can I get you a drink? We have some Soju in and I'm currently attempting to cook your favourite dish." Jin's mouth fell open a little as he followed your father to the kitchen, the two of them getting lost in conversation about food.

"I'm good! I don't need a drink!" You yelled out sarcastically, falling down onto the sofa and shaking your head at the two of them still talking to one another, not even noticing you weren't there.

YOONGI:

"Hi! Can we get a photo?!" Someone called out making you jump a little, you glanced at the boy and his sister and smiled a little.

"I'll take it, you can both be in the photo with him then." You suggested before the two of them stared at you confused. Yoongi smirked a little as he noticed the boy wearing a superman shirt and his sister was even holding a collector edition of the "witcher" books which gave him hints that they weren't there to see him at all.

"Oh...We meant with you." The boy said as he smiled warmly at you, you frowned a little.

"With me?" You questioned before looking at Yoongi who was taking their phone from their hands and getting the camera ready for them.

"You are Henry Cavil's daughter...Right?" You bit down on your lip before nodding and posing for an image with them, hugging the girl before they ran off back to their parents leaving you a little shocked.

"That's never happened to me before."

"It's cute," Yoongi chuckled kissing your hand as they two of you continued your trip inside of the shopping district.

HOSEOK:

"Hobi, come on. I'll show you my old room," You told your boyfriend as you took him on a tour of your old childhood home. The two of you had come home to visit your family and it was the first time he met your father and it was safe to say he was officially scared of him. Your dad had decided it was a good idea to show him the boot of the impala with all of the props from Supernatural and now your boyfriend was convinced your dad could probably get away with murder.

"I think we should stay down here. Just in case your father thinks something is going on."

"Hobi...You know he was kidding about before. Right?" You arched a brow at him but he still didn't look entirely convinced about it and you shook your head.

"Dad! You scared him!!" You yelled out, dropping your boyfriend's hand as you went to scold your father who was finding the whole thing hilarious.

"You better show him they're props!" You called out as Jensen made his way back to Hoseok, taking him back into the garage and showing that none of the items in the car could ever actually hurt someone.

NAMJOON:

In the weeks leading up to Namjoon meeting your family, you'd been so nervous that you could barely sleep but as soon as your boyfriend spoke to your boyfriend it was as though the two of them had been friends for years.

"I was wondering if I could ask you about some of the stunts you did in your last movie?" Namjoon questioned as your dad - Tom Cruise - smiled proudly and nodded, wrapping an arm around Namjoon's shoulder and taking him to his study.

"Food will be ready soon, don't stay in there too late." You called out to the two of them but your dad waved his hand at you and began to answer every question that Namjoon had ready for him. You'd had nothing to worry about when it came to them and you should have known since the two of them were very sociable people with everyone that they came into contact with.

JIMIN:

When Jimin first met your dad - George Clooney - he'd been so shy you were almost scared he'd never speak to the man on his own but you never would have seen the two of them becoming close friends. Now it was like the two of them were inseparable, you would always find them hanging out without you and even when there were family parties the two of them would go off together.

"I think I would have preferred them to hate each other," You told your mother as she let out a small laugh, handing you a glass of champagne and kissing the side of your head. You loved that they got along of course but there were times when you wanted your boyfriend to spend time with you at family gatherings instead of your father.

"It's good that they're so friendly. At least you know your father approves." She reminded you before you smiled warmly at her, watching your boyfriend and your father from a distance as they spoke in depth with one another.

TAEHYUNG:

You hadn't told Taehyung about your family because you'd wanted it to come out naturally but it appeared as though that was going to be damn near impossible. Since the two of you were both famous - or related to someone famous in your case - it was incredibly hard for you to get any alone time together which meant rumours of you both dating spread instantly.

"I don't understand it, how could they know? I was careful." Taehyung whimpered as he looked down at the magazines on your coffee table, your heart sinking as you bit down on your tongue a little.

"It wasn't you, it was me. We thought we got rid of my stalker but we were wrong," You sighed running your hand over your face while Taehyung looked at you even more confused than before.

"Let me explain-"

"Yn, I already hired my lawyer they're going to find the source of the photos and we'll have them destroyed, and then we'll have them prosecuted." Your head shot over to the front door of your home to see your father - Ryan Reynolds standing there and he was pissed.

"Dad-"

"We'll get him this time and he'll pay for what he did," He told you sternly before a giant smile took over his face and he waved at Taehyung who was still a little starstruck.

"Taehyung, this is my dad. Dad...Taehyung." The two of them shook hands before getting to work on a game plan for your stalker and how to handle the media.

JUNGKOOK:

There had to be something wrong, your boyfriend's car was in your family's driveway and you practically sprinted into the house to see your father staring at your very scared-looking boyfriend. Jungkook looked as though he was seconds away from crying,

"Dad! You told me you'd leave him until I got back!" You yelled rushing over to your boyfriend and sitting beside him but as you went to take his hand Jungkook shook his head at you.

"I asked if he was using you to get closer to us for fame, have you even done a check on him?" You glared over at your father who was now standing with his hands on his hips,

"Yes. Dad. Because Jeon Jungkook from BTS is using us to get famous." You grumbled at your dad and stared at him, his mouth falling open a little as he realised his mistake.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Your dad asked a little softer, sitting in the armchair across from you and Jungkook as you gently rubbed your boyfriend's thigh.

"With all due respect, Sir, you didn't let me get a word out," Jungkook admitted before you glared at your dad.

"Please, call me Samual." He held out his hand for him to shake and the two of them reintroduced each other to one another.

I have always wondered why JM Stans hates JK. I have seen posts about how JK is being the Company's favorite and that Scooter is trying to use JK to out sell JM. I don't believe it but I do want your opinions on this. I know you will probably say that's a very stupid thing to ask for but I see it a lot and I wonder why they keep saying that JK and V are the companies favorites. And also do you think the company didn't actively promote JM? This Fandom has finally twisted things around. I just need to know your thoughts on this matter. Thanks

Ok, where do we start?

Maybe from the end.

It being that it does feel at times that JM gets the raw deal from the company. If it's intentional or just because he's too nice and doesn't speak up enough I don't know. But this has been going on for years. The way the promotions for Face were handled, the way his name or photo somehow seem to disappear at times from official sites. For example the official BTS US store had all the members apart from JM in the index.

The issue has been since fixed, but it took angry JM stans posting and sending messages and emails to the company to notice it and make it happen.

Or, another example is JM's Like crazy Korean and English version streams being counted separately by Spotify.

Little things that make you ask "why him?" or more so "why is it always happening with him?"

Now, it's not that Jin has been forgotten at times as well (being cropped out of group photos at times). Somehow it's always those two, but with JM it's way more frequent and feels off.

Saying that, I do feel that some JM solos tend to make JM out as a constant victim (perhaps part of allowing them to be his saviors). While doing that they are constantly making comparisons with the others and while doing so also try to tear the others down.

I think this is part of the issue with solos. Forgetting that these 7 men are part of one band. A band they ALL want to be part of. Something they have said multiple times in the past and recently as well. 7 men that love each other (not to mention the elephant - cough couple cough - in the room).

It's more than ok to have a preference. A member you feel you like more or feel more connected to. It's a different matter to call yourself a fan of a single member elevating him by tearing down the others and constantly calling for said member to ditch the others and go solo. Spewing hate at the other members in that person's name, supposedly for him. Obviously you are not a fan of BTS when you do that, but more so you are not a true fan of said member who loves the others you constantly attack and wants to stay with them as a group, as he constantly and repeatedly tells us all.

Like the whole comparison made between JM's promotions and JK's (two totally different stories, different artists' objectives, different markets). And let me be clear here. I am not saying it felt like JM's success, which was, I feel, unexpected, was downplayed or not properly formally and publicly recognized. At the time it certainly felt that way. What we don't know is what JM's feelings were on the matter. Did he want it that way or was it a company decision? I know how it looks, but at times we need to understand that there are so many undercurrents and we don't get to see most of what's under the water. We only see what's shared or not shared with us, by the powers at be's decision. For example: Later on, in his documentary we saw that JM did get a cake for the #1 billboard achievement. So was it his choice not to post a pic? At the same time we saw his success, again, kind of being downplayed in articles, in BPD's interview, so this is one of those things I am leaving with a big question mark. Was he given the well deserved acknowledgement (even if not publicly)? Was it downplayed from the start, even towards him? And if so, why?

That being said, attacking JK, writing hateful posts about him, his looks, his artistry, his character not only would not make a damn difference as to how JM is being treated by the company but goes against everything that JM is and everything that JM feels towards JK.

Same issue, btw, with all solos. JK solos and the hate towards JM, the person JK loves the most in this world.

Do you see what I mean?

That was a little long winded, lol.

So, I do take issue with the need to cut down at another members success only to lift JM's up (he don't need no lifting, he's bloody amazing). I can assure you that is something he personally would not want, being the beautiful soul that he is, he wants the others to succeed and is not in competition with them.

I also hated this need to cut down JK even before his music came out, during JK's promotions, when he was choosing to mirror JM, a clear friggin calculated choice with a clear friggin purpose, by calling him lazy and a copy cat.

First of all you could see, if only you had eyes and kept them open, how throughout ALL of his promotions JK was mirroring JM. It was with similar outfits (even using the same exact black leather pants). It was with wearing the top part of an outfit to which JM wore the bottom part in his promotions. It was with his hair style and colour choices and references to JM's album. Anyway, point being once again that attacking another member does nothing to help lift JM up.

I always find it funny that JM solos hate JK so much.

The person that JM loves more than anyone else, and who loves JM more than they could ever.

The person who knows JM more than they could ever.

The person that JM chose to spend the 18 months of his army service with together, 24/7!! This was not forced on either of them. This was their choice.

Could it be jealousy perhaps? You know, JK gets to get JM and they don't.

Or perhaps this need to be the savior - poor JM needs them to save him from the big bad JK and the big bad company.

p.s. - maybe, just maybe, if indeed JM is being targeted by someone in the company, that's the issue that someone has with him. The fact that he will always come first for JK. The fact that because of him they can't control JK. Well, JK is not someone easy to control, but a. with JM in the picture some of his priorities are different (like wanting to spend time with him, like wanting to go public with their relationship) or perhaps the effect JM has had on JK, being his catalyst (JK's words) and all; and b. Outright homophobia. JK is the golden goose and he is in a long term relationship with a man, a bandmate. It makes life much harder for those that would rather milk the badboy hetero fuckboy image to the limit when said person wants to be accepted for his true self...

Well, that was definitely me digressing from your questions. Oopsy.

Bottom line:

Something kind of feels off with how things seem to go with JM and official content at times over the years (that includes photos, sites, spotify etc.) including his solo promotions.

That said, the comparison with other members, in my opinion, is unjustifiable. Because first and utmost they wouldn't want their fans to be comparing them. They all put themselves out there for their fans and all heartedly supported each other on that journey. Every single one of them had a different kind of solo debut. This is about different music genres, collabs or not, writing their own music or not, promoting out side of Korea or not, even down to the language of the songs. And with this also comes the different kind of promotions. Music shows or live/recorded performances for army, in bigger or smaller venues or even a tour, like Yoongi did.

The comparison with JK is just unfair to both of them. Especially given the very special relationship those two have. Both being the other's biggest fan and supporter.

That aside, the two went on two very different journeys. JM went on a personal journey releasing his first album taking part fully in it's creation, it being a very personal story he was telling us. JK, on the other hand, for whatever reasons (some of which he told us some of which he most likely didn't) decided to go with songs written by others, choosing to challenge himself with singing in English, and new genres and vocals. The choice for an album in English could very much have been pushed by the powers of be, and I do not want to go into the discussion of just how much influence SB has or not, other than say that Bang PD, a very smart and savvy man, knows his way around the music industry and business worlds and has much more influence on JK than anyone else, and that JK is a grown ass man and has told us on more than one occasion that he tends to make decisions for himself, even if at times they might not be the right ones, he goes with his gut. JK also told us he wants to be a huge superstar and singing in English, what can you do, opens up the US and other markets for him in a way that singing in Korean wouldn't.

But even putting that aside people seem to forget that from the get go JK was always the Golden maknae, the one that not only the company saw as their golden goose, but also all other members put on a pedestal. Not saying that's right. Not saying that's fair. But it is what it is. The company is a money making business. And now that BH are under Hybe, although they have autonomy (mostly) on the music, the costs and promotions, they don't have free reign over. And if it's about money making and profits, at times these will be the guidelines as to into what and where the money goes as far as promoting an artist. Let me be clear here. I'm talking here about costs and profits as in how much hard cash was put into a member's promotion over another's. This here isn't about other shit that's happened, such as no public acknowledgement or counting streams of different versions of the same song together or separately. That is another issue. What I'm trying to say here is that the starting point was and never will be the same also due to financial decision making.

Ok, so I think that maybe I've made more of a mess here than anything else, lol.

My bottom line is that even if I feel that JM is being wronged by the company in one way or another (and this goes for any member that might be wronged as well), I would never turn on another member and blame them for it nor would I compare between them. You can like or dislike the music each and every one of them released. That's fair enough and makes sense too. But belittling a member just to try and lift up the other one, that is just wrong in my books.

3. Espresso

Warnings: BTS x reader, very subby reader, innocent reader, power play, eventual smut, sexual and non sexual domination, a lot of skinship (but like lots) excessive pet names, sexism, anxiety, insecurities, possessive behavior, maybe BTS x BTS etc…

“I hope I got everything right…” you mumble to yourself as you walk through the halls of Hybe’s building.

That day, the boys noticed how hazy and soft you had gotten, so after gorging your hand all nicely patched up, decided to stop fuzzing over you…for now. So they started talking business. And you completely believed them when they told you they were in need of a new assistant. Of course they had Sejin and a handful of assistants, but they said they were in need of someone to take care of more personal requests. After meeting you in the café and seeing how well you worked, they thought you would be perfect for the job. They even told you how they had loved your coffee more than any of the other baristas from the little shop from the building!

Of course, you fell right through it.

You were a little skeptical at first, but as soon as they started praising your skills, you couldn’t stop yourself from blushing a little and accepting their deal with a soft smile. It was not your fault!! It was their voices…and the way they would give you camouflaged grounding words that just made your life easier and calmed your anxious brain. If they were so nice all the time, you thought, maybe this job wouldn’t be as bad as you imagined. And it seemed you weren’t getting fired anytime soon, or that’s what they told you when they heard a little of one of your nervous ramblings when they brought out a non-disclosure-agreement and the contract. When you saw the pay, you could only feel even surer about accepting the job.

And here you were. Your first official day.

First you had to go through the front desk to pick up the ID card and pass the boys had asked specially for you. You received a couple of weird looks from the woman on the reception, but you didn’t have time to think about it since your phone chimed on your pocket. They all had asked for your number, since it would be way easier and faster to communicate their requests. So now you had each of their contacts, as well as a couple group chats they had added you too and sent many funny memes and stickers that made you feel more at ease.

You too your phone out to see a message.

Hoseok-nim

Hey, pretty, would you be a peach and bring me an Espresso?

You typed a quick answer, starting to walk towards the small kitchen-type room only a few had access in Hybe. As their new personal assistant, of course you did.

You

Of course, Hoseok-nim. Where should I bring it to you?

Hoseok-nim

I’m in my studio! Hope world 🌞 on the seventeenth floor.

And don’t call me that, sweet thing!! You don’t have to be so formal with us!

You wouldn’t want to be a bad girl and make your sunshine upset, would you, girlie? 🥺

And please make one of those nasty drinks Yoongi hyung likes, he’s been on his studio since last night.

You

I’ll be there soon, sir!

I could get used to hearing her call me sir…but that thought stayed in Hoseok’s mind as he sighed.

You move swiftly, preparing the drinks you had been ordered, with a soft blush on your cheeks from Hoseok’s words. Calling him Hobi felt much better, and your absolutely loved it. Even though you weren’t sure if it was appropriate…he said it was alright, didn’t he? So there shouldn’t be a problem.

As soon as the drinks were ready, you put the lids on the plastic cups and started making your way towards the studio. You were still a bit nervous, not used to working with such important and handsome people. Not ever in a million years would you imagine yourself in such a position. The boys had made their biggest effort to make you feel comfortable, but you still needed a bit more time. You made it to the studio with a the vibrant letters “Hope World”

You used your free hand to knock on the door, and you felt a little stupid when you saw a doorbell in the panel for the password. With a sighed, you pressed the little button and the door flew open almost immediately, a smiling Hoseok welcoming you.

“Hello pretty girl, you are fast walker aren’t you?” you smiled shyly to the pet name, and you looked at him through your lashes.

“A bit…I-I've been told I walk quickly when I’m nervous” you admit rubbing your nape, making him coo.

“Aigoo, we can’t have that, can we? Come inside” you were about to protest, not wanting to interrupt his work, but he sent you such an intense look that made you shut your mouth and follow him inside the studio and watch as he sat on the desk to save a file he was working on. “I forgot to give you the password so you wouldn’t have to ring. Sorry about that.”

“No no! Don’t be sorry Hoseok-nim! I understand you wouldn’t want to give such an important information to just anyone! It’s already a lot for you let me come in here and…” You speak as you shake your free hand to articulate, starting another one of your nervous rambling but stopping abruptly.

Hoseok’s chair turned around slowly, very slowly. And he set his eyes on you.

You felt electricity go down your spine and something tighten inside your belly. He was looking at you with a stone gaze, the same one you had seen in a few dance practice videos were one of the meme bees made a mistake or he wasn’t happy with the choreography. One of his hands was holding tightly to the armrest of the chair, and the other was was splayed over his thigh. Dangerously close to his crotch. You removed your gaze immediately when you realized you were staring, but not fast enough for him not to notice. He smirked a bit, but his eyes didn’t soften, raising his chin before speaking.

“What did you just call me?” Your eyes widened as you realized your mistake, but he didn’t even let you even open your mouth before he clicked his tongue disapprovingly. “Here I was, thinking you were a good girl, seems like I was mistaken, hmm?”

You start to panic, your breathing hitching a bit too often as you look at him with big puppy eyes. You don’t want him to think you are bad! You weren’t bad, you just had a little slip, but it was enough too had your lip trembling. You wanted to be good for him, and for the others. You felt just like the first day you met them in their office, filled with this weird sensation of wanting to do what they say, follow their orders and hear their praises afterwards.

And it was so weird! You barely new them! But somehow, you felt comfortable enough to allow yourself this feelings of wanting to please. To receive their orders.

To give control up.

“No no! S-sir…H-Hobi! H-Hobi!” you can’t help but stutter as your rub your feet together nervously, looking at him with sad regretful eyes “I’m sorry, I-I really sorry. I won’t do it again…I-I’ll listen! I can be good! I promise! I’m sorry” You look at him pitifully, with your lips tucked in a trembling pout.

And he uses most of his self control not to kiss that pretty little pout on your lips and make you repeat his name as sweetly as you had just done for him.

But he didn’t. He got up and walked close to you, fixing a strand of your hair behind your ear and cupping you jaw, tightening his grip a tiny bit when you tried to lower your gaze. His hand was warm, and his slender fingers felt good against your skin.

Your mouth fell a little open, and he took advantage of that and shook your face a little bit, helping to ground you again. Your tense body relaxes and your cheeks blush softly, a tiny happy smile appears on your face as you feel warm taking over your whole body, specially your lower belly, but your smile disappears when you shiver softly as soon as you feel his fingers graze your earlobe, and he can’t help but notice the way your bones vibrate, holding back a whimper.

Oh, now he wants to hear it.

He grazes your earlobe again, using his thumb and index finger to slightly pinch it as the rest of his fingers caress your neck. Goosebumps appear all over your skin and a whimper comes out of your lips, loud and clear. He wishes he had the microphones from the studio recording so he could capture such a sound, as it comes out of you again when he repeats the motion.

“Hmm, you are sensitive, aren’t you?” you can’t do much more than nod tiredly, cuddling a little bit against his grip that remains on your jaw. You were feeling tingly all over your body. “It’s alright, pretty girl. How could I not forgive you when you apologized so prettily? Such a good girl for me…”

You smile, openly cuddling against his hand as he caressed your neck one last time, before letting you. Not without making sure you came back to earth, even though way more calmed. He took his drink from the plastic holder you brought and put it back in your hand with Yoongi’s order.

“Even though I would love to have you here, I need to get back to work, and I’m sure hyung could use the distraction, so why don’t you act the treat and take this to him before the ice melts?” he smirked as you nodded obediently, a happy blush decorating your cheeks.

“Yes, Hobi” you flashed a smile at him as you waved softly, and he gave a small encouraging tap on your lower back (a tiny bit lower than he should have, but no one had to notice that)

“Oh, and the password from here is 940218, so come back whenever you want, peach. And don’t say again you are ‘just anyone’, because I assure you, you are not”

okay going based off my previous request smth with a famous reader x hector

like maybe and athlete or like an actress(spider woman actress?)

and just like them having to shoot a promotional video with liek say nike and the bts gets released and everyone is talking bout how hector and reader cant stop giving each other heart eyes :)

It started when hector's manager sent you a DM saying, " hello Ms. y/ln, we wanted to contact you regarding a photoshoot with hector and Nike.", which led you to be in your current situation sitting in a hotel room waiting for hector to finish his game of FIFA so you both could attend the photoshoot. after almost 30 minutes he stood up and put on his coat walking out leaving you behind and not speaking a word to you, "you know the least you can do I talk to me" you say following close behind him "and why would I talk to someone as boring and annoying as you" hector says his head snapping back to look at you, you just start walking faster now leaving him behind while also trying to hide the tears in your eyes. during the photo shoot though hector was staring at you the whole time and blushing HARD after the photo shoot hector had invited the whole team to a bar with drinks on him, and who would say no to free drinks, while there hector was just sitting across from you in the VIP section staring and looking madly in love.

(1 week later)

fans and even haters were shipping you and hector even your only families then during another Nike shoot with hector he was staring and blushing again but you still ignored it and continued, then again he invited the whole team to the bar when you walked in the door you started to dance with everybody until hector walked up to you and said he was to drunk to drive and needed a ride home.in the car hector is just staring at you while you sit across from him "you look really pretty" he whispers drunk "what was that?" you reply not being able to hear him, "you look really pretty right now" he whispers again, "speak up if you want me to understand you" you say getting annoyed, " you look really pretty right now" he says and you can finally understand him "oh... um thank you" you say. when you both get to the hotel you have to practically carry him to the room were then you lay him down on the bed helping him get into his pajamas, " I just love you soooooo much" hector say, " I... I love you to" you say softly , "will you cuddle me... please" hector says looking at you with puppy eyes "sure" you say laying down behind him spooning him until you couldn't keep your eyes open any longer and ended up falling asleep.

It started again at a coffee shop near camp nou you and hector were seen sharing a table and laughing together but it wasn't until hector was seen with the bracelet you rarely took off that the fans started to get suspicious of the two, then you posted a photo wearing a barca jersey a few days later but didn't show the back, and the fans started going crazy asking all sorts of questions like " whose name is on the back!" and " are you and hector dating!?" .About a month later, there were pictures every where at this point of hector and you, you and hector's mom, hector and you're brother, aswell as hector being seen in the back of a photo from one of you're family events and you're reflection taking a photo of hector's mom and some of her friends, at this point fans were begging for them to announce that they are official up to the point that hector posted a picture of you and himself kissing on the beach and dedicated a winning goal to you.

So. I don't like the idea that you can't be a fan of both Digimon and Pokémon. A while ago, I got an ask from a Pokémon fan asking how Digimon is any better than Pokémon, and I didn't really know how to answer that? I love both? I also like Yo-Kai Watch, by the way. You don't have to drag something down to elevate something else.

It does bother me that I sometimes get the feeling from certain kinds of Pokémon fans that they hate on Digimon, like it's their duty? I even had an argument with someone in real life who was convinced Digimon was a Pokémon rip-off, despite knowing nothing about Digimon in the first place.

But obviously, not all fans are like that, I'm a big Pokémon fan myself! I've played essentially all main line games and many side games. The Pokémon Special Manga was the first manga I read and is among my all-time favorites. I'm also active in my local Pokémon TCG community! I'm actually an official Pokémon TCG Judge, and I volunteer alongside my partner at our local card shops weekly "Pokémon School," where we teach children how to play the game. Although that sometimes also entails how to read cards, how to act respectful to your opponent, how to focus, what to look out for when building decks, how to tell if a card is fake, and much more...

That's another reason why I'm sad the Digimon Card Game only has an English language release in the West. Otherwise, I'd have introduced it to the kids already!

But yeah, I'm rambling a bit, my point being I don't want any hate, just love here. You don't have to like Pokémon. But it's definitely possible to like both.

So I wanna take a moment to show a couple of artists you know from the Digimon Card game who also like Pokémon!

Sanosuke Sakuma

Sanosuke Sakuma has been doing illustrations for the Digimon Card Game since the first set! Their strong point are cute characters, with most of their cards being of Baby Level Digimon (Lv.2) or Child Level Digimon (Lv.3). You can check out posts I did of their cards under #Sanosuke Sakuma

They also have been working as an illustrator for the Pokémon TCG since 2013 and have been working as character designer and illustrator for the main line Pokémon games since Pokémon Sun and Moon (2016).

GOSSAN

GOSSAN had been doing illustrations for the Digimon Card Game since BT-04 (2020) and have done over a hundred cards by this point. They're among the most likely artists to do game references and are very good at depicting action! Check out more of them under #GOSSAN

They also have been working as an illustrator for the Pokémon TCG since 2021 and already have a couple of Alternative Arts under their belt. Notably, they even got to illustrate the Alternative Art of Mewtwo Vstar, featuring it fighting Charizard, both of which are among the most popular Pokémon.

Tessy has been an illustrator for the Digimon Card Game since late 2020 and has been featured in almost every set since. Check out my posts featuring their cards under #tessy

While there is no Pokémon card featuring rheir art just yet, they entered and reached the semi-finals of the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2022 with both their entries for Charizard and Bulbasaur.

Spareribs

Spareribs won second prize overall (and first for Devimon) of the Digimon Illustration Competition 2022 with their entry 「Fallen」. Ever since they've been working as an illustrator for the Digimon Card Game. You can see posts with their cards under #spareribs

They also entered the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2022 and made it to the semi-finals with their entry for Greninja.

Collected Information about the Bangkok Concerts

This is a post collecting information and sources about the concerts held by the Zhang Sanjian scam gang on May 10th and 11th. I will keep this updated as more information comes out. Please let me know if you have any questions, corrections, or additions.

Lead-Up

The earliest account to promote the concert was a planted fan trying to collect information from other fans in group chats, not an “official account”. This was on April 10th, only a month prior to the day the concert would be held. Accounts officially associated with the scam would not start promotions until April 20th.

Someone who contacted the venue on April 20th was told that the hall had been booked for 05-11 but that the venue could not disclose who it was for.

On April 22nd, the Instagram made a post announcing the ticket sales using a promotional photo from 2021 that had been made for the concert the real Zhang Zhehan had been planning prior to 813. This post did not include a link for purchasing; including links to purchases increases the chance of Instagram checking an account for fraud activity.

The production company for the concert is partnered with CAPA.

Seat prices went up to 16,000 baht ($465 USD / 3200 RMB) and went on sale on April 22nd. As a comparative, the BTS member Suga held a concert with VIP tickets pricing at 6200 baht.

Within hours, scam believers were saying that tickets had sold out, but on the actual purchasing site they were instead listed as not available (ie. reserved for sale by scalpers). On May 3rd, these reserved tickets that had not been sold were made available again with less than half sold.

On April 23rd, it was announced via the Instagram that an additional concert would be held on 05-10 due to “popularity”. (As I write this, I realize that it’s odd for them to book 05-10 rather than 05-12 since it means those first comers who bought tickets for 05-11 would not get to be the first ones to see “him”.) Tickets for this became available the following day and “sold out” within ten minutes only to become available again; it’s likely this was just a glitch.

On April 24th, a promotional video was posted for the concert using only footage from 2021 (same context as mentioned above).

Some tickets had been available as a “tour package” through a company that had a history of scamming customers. On April 26th, the tour package’s name was changed then deleted from the company’s website. On April 30th, the Taobao shop selling these packages was closed without refunds and over 400 people who had made purchases had their information leaked. Some people who purchased these packages were later left stranded at the airport for hours when they arrived.

On May 5th, the Weibo Supertopic used by scam believers, which had been filled with people reselling tickets and encouraging others to fake information for travel visas, was deleted. The following day, “official” accounts directed users to a new Supertopic that was created less than 15 minutes after the previous one disappeared despite it taking 1-3 days for Supertopics to be approved. This new Supertopic was made private on May 9th then deleted as well on May 10th.

On May 6th, photos were posted to the Instagram of “Zhang Zhehan” in what appeared to be Thailand. The following day several photos and a video were spread of “chance encounters”, originating from accounts that did not belong to fans.

The scam gang requested that people who had bought VIP tickets provide their home addresses so they could be sent tshirts and light sticks, four days prior to the first concert date. Have fun getting doxxed, I guess.

On May 8th, a new song was released to streaming sites by the scam gang despite it being only two days before the first concert. As a comparative, for his mini-concert to promote his Another Me EP in October 2020, Zhang Zhehan released only two of the three songs for streaming prior to the concert, leaving the third song 不说 to be debuted at the concert before releasing for streaming.

On May 9th, several photos and a video were posted by paparazzi of the venue being set up. It was noted that workers present in these photos were fully dressed despite there being a heatwave with outside temperatures climbing to over 40°C; it’s uncommon for AC to be on during set up, though not impossible.

On the same day, a figure fully covered in sweats and a hoodie was filmed entering the venue for rehearsals. Again: heatwave.

May 10th

The venue looked less than half full less than ten minutes before the set start time.

Chinese CPFs keeping track of things concluded that three different impersonators were likely used, with one possibly being a woman. There were visible differences in the nose, jawline, eyebrows, Adam’s apple, butt, and stature. Furthering this, people watching reported that the costume changes were remarkably fast and there were no breaks over the course of 20 song performances (3 hours).

It’s quite likely that the cameras used for the screens inside the venue were using deepfake tech to correct for these mistakes. Yes this can be done live. It was noticed that the screens seemed to noticably lag more than is standard (example, comparison to another concert) and occassionally jumped.

Some of the audience members visible in photos look quite unexcited to be there. It’s possible that people were hired to fill empty seats, especially given that so many were left unsold that they decreased the number of seats physically present in the venue. A number of people looked to be in quite a hurry to leave afterwards. There is hearsay that some of them may have been students who were paid to attend. [translated chatlog between Chinese fans]

About an hour and a half after the concert started, the bought hashtag #Primordial Theater# suddenly appeared on the general Weibo hotsearch, reaching #14 before completely disappearing ten minutes later. Coincidentally, the Weibo administration account made a post shortly afterwards warning about celebrity impersonation fraud.

Around this time, all photos of the concert posted by Ranyi, one of the “official” accounts, were removed by Weibo and the account was later banned for violating community rules. Similar photos and a video were also removed from Xie Yihua’s Weibo accounts.

A whaler who made a post that she shook hands with him at the concert forgot to change her VPN to Thailand, with it instead saying she was in Japan. 🤡

There are rumors that some whalers who attended said it was fake and closed their accounts, I haven’t seen direct evidence of this yet. Also a rumor that one went to the police. Some whalers were reportedly afraid to speak out about what they had seen at the concert because they had given the scam their personal information.

May 11th

There was significantly less posted footage and discussion of this day. Many people who had attended gave excuses such as phones being too low on battery to film, only having blurry photos, wanted to capture the moment with their own eyes, etc.

Videos show that barely anyone in the audience appeared to be singing along to some songs, including Surround.

Comment about the vocals from a trained musician: “The voice doesn't feel open, it feels like it's covered with a layer of veil. Generally speaking, the voice is not clean, and secondly, the breath is not stable, and the voice is obvious. Trembling, as well as out-of-tune and treble, the treble sounds very laborious, and the out-of-tune is also sandwiched between the two notes, and the way of vocalization is not right, it is all in the throat, singing like this is easy to hurt the throat and make it hoarse.” (mtl)

A video and group photo showing Xiao Yu were passed around, with him being visibly too short in relation to “Zhang Zhehan” in the photo.

Again, many of the photos posted by Xie Yihua were removed by Weibo.

VVIP ticket holders (on both days) were able to take photos with Zhang Sanjian afterwards: - Reports from them say that Zhang Sanjian was quite touchy-feely and eager with hugs (😰). If you look at old photos and video of the real Zhang Zhehan, he was always very polite and often kept his hands clasped when taking photos with unfamiliar people. - The attendees were assigned a number so the photos could be sent to them afterwards. Standard practice for celebrity photo ops is that the photos are printed there; being sent later allows time for editing to be done. - It took two weeks for people to be sent their photos. Despite this, some of the editing is... not very good.

Followups

Yahoo! Taiwan published an article talking about the concert, referring to Zhang Zhehan as an “artist who insulted China”.

[Written notes] from a Twitter space discussion about the concert. Main points not previously covered here:

It was learned by Chinese CPFs that any Chinese person who wants to hold a concert outside of China needs to get written permission to do so. There is no evidence that the scam gang did this, and it’s doubtful that someone in Zhang Zhehan’s situation would do so.

If you watch the videos of Zhang Sanjian talking at the concert, it looks very performative, not a real emotional response like what you can see in videos of the real Zhang Zhehan at his past concerts. Especially at a concert after 813 and not seeing his fans for two years, wouldn’t you expect him to get quite emotional?

Likewise, there are enunciation differences and dialectic differences in how Zhang Sanjian spoke.

If the point of the concerts was to make money, they would have started promotions much earlier, it doesn’t make commercial sense to announce it at such short notice. The intent of the concert was to get attention.

Another intent seems to be to try to divide CP fans, similar to how last year they succeeded in dividing haizhe and whalers.

Following the concerts, there was a significant uptick in fans of other celebs harrassing those saying the concerts were fake—especially in c-ent fan culture, fans of other celebs can and will happily take advantage of the scam to eliminate their bias’s competition even if they are aware that it’s a scam.
