She is late.
Boruto’s eyes wandered to his clock one more time. He sat at his usual table, like every Monday and Wednesday, and sighed almost too loudly for a library, but there was no one in the section he was currently standing. A drop of water ran down his face, as always, he came to the library directly after his swimming practice, the smell of chlorine filling his nostrils.
His glance went back to his clock once again. 6 minutes late.
Maybe he was earlier this time, by now, it was almost a routine, the fact was that when he arrived, Sarada was always there, her head drowned into one of her books that she was so fascinated about.
Boruto frowned and rubbed his temples. Maybe something happened, something big. He shook his head to swipe the thought of his mind. Sarada was fine, just late.
A glance towards the window confirmed what his sister told him earlier. He glared at the grey sky, the clouds seeming impossibly low. It was supposed to snow in the next hour or so, the weather app warned him.
Taking his phone out of his pocket, he checked the time once again, before shoving it into his bag, turning off the vibrate mode. He needed to study, and he couldn’t have the luxury of getting distracted by his incoming messages, although he did let the earphones out, blasting some loud music on them to help him focus.
He flipped open his math textbook, sighing tiredly once more. It was necessary that he gets this done by today, but it was easier to push it off. The author was just absolutely boring at explaining something as fascinating as math itself.
Boruto was not the kind of person who studied in advance, or at least he wasn’t last semester. He never needed to. Somehow, his genetics helped him, although his uncles and aunts always told him that his father was not so gifted with studying.. Even though, now his father was the director of the university, that being the second biggest reason why he was so popular there. The first one was: he was good as hell at swimming.
So, even though this semester he decided to start studying earlier in advance, he could not run away from the procrastination and distraction coming at his way.
Suddenly, Sarada strode over to their table and there was a thud when she dropped her heavy books, startling Boruto and bringing him back to whatever sordid place his mind was at. She rubbed her forehead, frowning like she had a headache. The girl looked really tired.
Boruto looked up because he can’t just pretend that he didn’t see her come in, like she isn’t the only other person in the room, like she didn’t announce her entrance every single time. She really didn’t even have to, he’d notice her anyway.
“I’m killing someone today.” It was the first sentence coming out of her mouth.
Boruto just stood there, pressing his lips together and waiting for her to look at him. He noticed her nose and cheeks red from the cold.
The first thing she did was to get herself out of her thick coat and scarf. Boruto thought her sweater was cute and admired how messy the black curtain of hair looked like as she ran an impatient hand back to get them out of her face. As he hid his smile behind his book.
The scene brought back a memory with his little sister, as she squeezed her own hands on her cheeks when she saw a puppy. Back then, she wished she’d explode from cuteness and Boruto just ignored her comment, not being able to understand it. Well, apparently, he did now.
She was tiny, compared to his own height. Her dark hair was cascading down her back. But, what always got his attention was her eyes. Black like two stones of onyx. Boruto couldn’t help but think he’d never seen such dark eyes with so much light in them.
That’s why he couldn’t help but stare when she was sitting at her library table. Not that he was checking her out or anything, he was just acknowledging the fact that his study partner was finally in the same room as him.
Boruto didn’t open his mouth to say anything at her direction, waiting for her to finally spill something on why she was in such a foul mood. He just hoped he wasn’t the first of her list, which her following words just made him wonder about it.
“I hate you.” Sarada breathed out, narrowing her eyes at him.
Boruto kept his gaze locked on hers, confused. “What did I do?”
“I know you. You’re going to piss me off even more today.” She informed him, looking for something inside her bag. After a while, she gave up. “I forgot my book.”
Boruto couldn’t help but smile. She was too cute when she was stressed, especially with her nose as red as it was. “Good thing you’re in a library, then.”
She sighed in defeat, as she stood on her feet to go look for the book in the shelters. Boruto returned his earphone to his ear, feeling a little bit more at ease now she was there.
He was focused on some math problem when he felt a hand squeezing his tightly. Boruto got startled and his phone fell on the ground.
Sarada, who was already leaned in, she grabbed it and handed it to him, her hand on his thigh not moving for a second. The blond guy tried his best not to focus at it, but her next words just made it harder.
“I need you.”
Boruto coughed, drowning on his own saliva. His eyes widened, his mind already wondering about what exactly she could be needing him for. “Hm?”
Suddenly, her hand on his tight got heavier and he was too aware of it.
“I can’t reach the book. It’s too high.” Sarada pouted, blinking her big eye lashes, asking silently for him to get it.
He broke eye contact for a moment so he could breath. When he returned his gaze, the smug smirk was already playing on his lips. “Never thought I’d see you in a damsel in distress. I’m not a fan of cliche but I’d become a prince for you.”
She rolled her eyes, already standing up. “Damsel in stress, you mean.” She turned, already walking away. “Never mind, I’ll get it myself.”
Boruto chuckled, already standing up and ready to follow her to the corridor. She was already tiptoeing, trying to reach a big blue one on the last shelter. The grimace on her face once she saw Boruto just got more defined.
He walked towards her, stretching his arms and grabbing the book easily. Sarada’s eyes sparkled in anticipation.
He kept his arm stretched over her head for a few seconds, before she realized he wasn’t going to give it to her.
“Seriously, Boruto?”
He just smiled.
“Give it to me.”
She tugged her hands on his white shirt, trying to pull him down but with no success.
So, trying a new strategy, she wrapped her arms around his neck and used her own weight to pull him so. Catching him out of guard, Boruto lost his balance and his lips ended up smashing hers.
It was quick but the softness on her lips was noticeable for him. She parted away, her cheeks a deep shade of red, probably mirroring his.
“Hm... Sorry.” She leaned in and took the book away from his hands. He didn’t even notice when it reached so low.
Boruto just stood there, not knowing what to tell her. Sarada just dipped her head into some random page on the book and he took the opportunity to breathe.
After what seemed an eternity for him, she just nodded. Closing the book with a big thud, she walked to the shelter she was supposed to guard it. Boruto, who still hadn’t moved a muscle since the kiss, felt intoxicated when her smell filled his nostrils. She tried to tiptoe again, not asking him for his help this time.
Without saying a word, his hands moved to her waist, pulling her up. Sarada was as light as Boruto thought she would be. This little help gave her the height she needed to finally place the book on the right place.
“Thank you.” Sarada muttered.
As Boruto put her down, her back slid against his front accidentally, almost making the poor guy explode. When her feet touch the ground, Boruto had to take a step back to regain his composure.
Although, the distance between them didn’t take long, as Sarada just twisted herself and pressed her lips to his in a kiss almost bruising.
At first, Boruto was too shocked to even move, but it didn’t take much until his body started to move itself automatically, corresponding to her. He pressed her body against a shelter, carefully so it wouldn’t fall, as his body molded to hers. Her skin was hot and there was a scent about her reminded him of flowers.
As Boruto ran his tongue along the seam of her lips, he brought a knee up and pressed against the juncture of her legs, smirking at the gasp it earned him. Without thinking twice, he pushed his tongue into her mouth as her lips parted, beginning to explore every inch of her as he continued to rhythmically rub her core with his knee.
The scent of flowers once again permeated through Boruto’s nostrils. Her sweet scent and taste were intoxicating and what started as something as curiosity turned into something else entirely. Her supple body called to him and he had half a mind to drag her down the hall and into the bathroom so he could show her just how perfectly he could help her to de-stress. He was just about to pull away and proposition her when someone near them clear their throat.
Both of them pulled away, looking directly at Sumire’s colorless face. The girl was beaten red, probably as Sarada and Boruto’s face were once again. They took a step back from each other, as Boruto let his eyes sweep over everywhere but his classmate’s face.
“I need a book from this section, can I?” Sumire questioned them.
“Sure.” Sarada replied as he nodded, breathlessly. Boruto’s brow furrowed at how fast she recovered her voice. At that point, it was taking Boruto all the concentration he had to force himself to breathe steadily and not in ragged little gasps. “In fact, I need to go. I’m late.”
“For what?” Boruto questioned her as Sumire walked towards the shelter. The purple haired girl grabbed the blue book from before and he had to contain a laugh.
“For… I’m late.” Sarada said, as Sumire left, not daring to look back at both of them. Sarada took a step in the same direction but Boruto’s fingers wrapped around her wrist.
“Did I at least help you with your stress problem?” Boruto’s smug smirk was back to his face and he hoped Sarada was in the mood to wipe it off his face with her own lips.
“Pretty sure you just gave me more problems to stress over.”
“Well, problems aren’t what I wish you were giving me.” Boruto grinned, approaching her. But Sarada just raised her index finger, signalizing for him not to move one more step in her direction. Her eyes were still glued to his and Boruto could see the pink hue on her cheeks.
Boruto being Boruto, he took the opportunity to tease her even further. “Are you… You know. A virgin?”
Sarada gasped, her eyes widened in shock as she coughed. Some ‘shush’ from somewhere of the library reached them, and Boruto bit his lips not to laugh. “Are you? How?”
“Shannaroo.” Sarada marched into his direction and punched his arm strongly. “I am not!”
Boruto frowned, rubbing the place his classmate had just hit. “Well, princess, you’re going to give me some proof of that.”
He leaned in on her direction, but she escaped, taking a step back.
“Stop with the fairytales references!”
Sarada prepared herself to turn but Boruto’s hand kept her from moving.
“But seriously, where are you going? I thought we were going to study.”
The girl sighed in response, freeing herself from his grip. For a moment, Boruto wished he could read her mind to know what she was thinking . “I need some coffee. I’ll meet you later.”
“Sarada?” He called her, making her turn over, once more.
“Hm?”
“I can’t wait for the happily ever after part.” He smirked, earning an eye roll from her.
“You’re so annoying.” She shot back, but as she turned, Boruto noticed the wide smile spread on her face. She let him alone on the corridor and Boruto rested his body against the nearest shelter, hoping the clear air would filter into his brain and clear his head. Yet a certain girl was everything his mind could think about and Boruto knew he was eager to have his happy ending.
