Pokémon A Day - West Sea Shellos (#422)
Tried to make this version of shellos as cute as I think of the east shellos. I hope I did a good job.

saw a headcanon ask and now you get one too. favorite blorbo headcanons?
ooh yay thank you!! i'm just gonna do the first 10 i can think of, here we go:
drew stans weezer unironically. he has a reddit account solely for debating whether the blue album or pinkerton is better. i stand by this
in my timeline of events for my fics, zoey's done contests before DP. her first circuit was actually in johto, because she wanted to challenge herself by going somewhere entirely new. that's where she got misdreavus from! daisy oak was her mentor figure, and she also competed alongside marina and became good friends with them both
another zoey hc - i think it would be really funny if her type was extroverted blue-haired coordinators. dawn, obviously but also marina and lisia
ash has synesthesia. and perfect pitch, even though he's never played an instrument. cilan is jealous and outraged at the latter
gary had a poetry/journaling phase when he was around 15 in sinnoh. he was inspired by his grandpa's poetry and proverbs he heard around the region like "when every life meets another, something will be born." so he kept a journal of original poems for a bit, but he abandoned it after a year or so, and nowadays he cringes at his cliches when he looks back. there's probably a few poems unraveling his feelings for ash in there
goh does 80% of his shopping at uniqlo. look at him and tell me he doesn't
chloe pushed herself to be social when she was young, especially because she saw how goh got treated for being antisocial, but as she grows up she comes to realize that she has a lower social battery than she would like. if she has two (2) packed social days in a row she will lose her mind
serena and chloe were obsessed with cimorelli's youtube covers when they were in their early teens. they grow out of it but it comes up as a big "wait, what? you actually know what i'm talking about?" moment when they become friends in their 20s
social media hcs: misty was a myspace girlie, gary knows that twitter is now (regrettably) X but he draws the line at knowing what tiktok is, dawn and may thrived during the vine era but only dawn actively uses tiktok, serena was all about that 2014 instagram christian girl autumn aesthetic, lana streams on twitch, brock was the first of his friends to join facebook and that's where he peaked, iris only created her social media accounts once she became unova champion, zoey's accounts are managed by a PR specialist so that she can just relax and play words with friends, ash plays among us but forgets his actual SM accounts exist, and paul is ride or die with his nokia flip phone
ash is the shortest among shigesatogou, but he can still sling both goh and gary over his shoulder no problem (we stan a short athletic king)

Casting Pearls Before Time - Ch 1
Hi, yall. I know, I know, it's been forever since I last posted fic, why the hell am I doing it again? I thought you were slain finally? I thought you'd collapsed on your laptop and someone put an end to your reign of terror? Unfortunately for you, no, I came back. Enjoy this piece I've had sitting in my drafts for easily over a year and never finished.

------
Six months after suddenly reappearing, Ingo encounters someone he thinks he remembers. Only problem is, he can't remember anything before he returned to Unova, so it's hard to say
Word Count: 2200
Emmet walked in-step with Ingo as they traversed the empty streets of Nimbasa. Their day bags were slung across their shoulders, gently bumping against their sides with every step they took. All was quiet. The dark sky sprawled above them. Emmet fully believed stars were up there, he had seen them himself, though with the light pollution from Nimbasa City, it was hard to see them now. A stiff breeze blew down the long street, whipping his white coat and trying to nab his hat off his head, pinching at his ears and making them sting. Autumn was well on its way to Unova. The Deerling he and his brother had fought earlier was molting its summer green fur to make way for the denser, coarser orange.
Emmet glanced at his brother, still half-paranoid he would not be there. He was still right next to Emmet, his small, neatly trimmed beard and longer hair reflecting the streetlights. His eyes wandered from streetlamp to streetlamp, as though he were still enamored with electricity. He could be. Emmet did not know.
It had only been six months since his reappearance, that day ending the longest three years of Emmet's life.
Emmet had scoffed in annoyance when Elesa barged into his home yet again, tugging by the arm insistently. It was not the first time she'd done this. "Emmet, you have to come with me. Now."
"Elesa, I am busy." It was not incorrect. He was working through some reports from that week that he'd fallen behind on. It used to be Ingo's job but since he was absent, the duty fell to Emmet. He sat at the wooden desk with his hat off, his hair long and unkempt, his ungloved right hand resting on his forehead, the fingers intertwining with his silver hair as his left scribbled out some nonsense on the notebook paper. A couple Joltik that had been sleeping by the eraser jumped and skittered away in surprise, leaving sparks in their wakes.
"Emmet, seriously. You're coming." She continued to tug on him, effectively pulling him to the ground.
"Elesa," he snapped. "I am busy! I cannot get air right now-"
"Emmet. They found him." He stopped struggling immediately, staring blankly at her from the floor as she continued to speak. "He's in Sinnoh. They're flying him over here, I just got the call from Skyla. They're landing at her airport in two hours. He's coming home."
He laid still for another few moments as the information sank in, his eyes wider than saucers. Then he stood so suddenly, he nearly knocked Elesa over. "I am Emmet. I am prepared. Let us depart immediately." For once, she didn't tease him for leaving his paperwork behind as she hurriedly led him out the door and away from the apartment. He was so shocked, he’d forgotten his hat and shoes.
He spent an hour fretting in the lobby. What if they were wrong? What if it wasn't him? Why was he in Sinnoh to begin with? Had he left? Was he sick? Elesa hadn’t mentioned anything about that, and surely she would if he were, right? She had not said a word since she had fetched him from his home. What if she didn’t mention it just to make him feel better and not worry? She wouldn’t. Would she? What if he hadn’t wanted to come home? What if-
What if it was his body? What if he was dead-
“Em, talk to me.” Elesa had shaken him from his thoughts. Without him even speaking, she read him like a book. “He’s safe, Em. Doctors checked him over and said he's a little malnourished, but fine.” She had assessed him before continuing, watching the runway with him. “They did mention one thing, though.” He felt white-hot adrenaline spike through him. This was it, this was where the other shoe dropped. “He… he has severe amnesia. He can hardly remember anything about Unova, his pokemon, or anything else from before he disappeared. And while he was gone, he doesn’t remember much from that, either. The doctors said to be careful with him and-”
“He’s got amnesia?” He had turned to look up at her and listen to her response-
“Emmet? Are your systems operational?” Emmet blinked a couple times and refocused himself, looking at his brother. They had stopped walking at some point and Ingo was watching him with concern. It seemed he had been trying to get Emmet’s attention. He seemed to do that quite often.
“I am Emmet. I am alright. Destination: home.” He began to walk again as Ingo set his hand on Emmet’s shoulder.
“Do you hear that?” Ingo was watching something just past Emmet, not quite focusing on him.
Emmet knit his brow, but heard nothing. “I have hearing loss, Ingo. I cannot hear well.”
“Ah! My apologies.” Emmet had reminded Ingo of this fact many times before. He was still trying to remember many things about his life before Hisui, as well as his life while there. Emmet had never heard of a region called that before and neither had anyone else he’d talked to. Perhaps Ingo was mixing up a name he’d heard with the region? He had definitely been in Sinnoh. “I hear something like scuffling from over there.” Ingo nodded to the mouth of an empty alleyway. Emmet cocked his head, not able to hear anything. Ingo did have better hearing than him, though Emmet’s eyesight was better of the two of them.
“Toss out a pokemon, just in case,” Emmet advised. Ingo did, tossing out the large Gliscor he had carried home from Hisui. Ingo approached the alley, his body taut and ready to spring. Emmet hung back, as it was obvious that Emmet was much less prepared to deal with this than Ingo was.
Gliscor peeked into the alleyway first, screeching loudly after it saw something. It flew into the alley and a few small pokemon burst out. Trubbish. All were honking and gargling as they quickly took off, shuffling out of the alley and scattering into the night. Ingo plunged into the alley as soon as the last one left, leaving Emmet to scurry in after him. What was he doing?! Gliscor seemed to have it handled-
He saw a girl. She was wearing very little, only a pink and white dress with ostentatious tails and several bangles on her arm. A pink headpiece adorned her head. She was pressed against the wall, shaking horribly, her pale face almost ghostly in the low light. Her eyes were wide with fear. Gliscor was flitting around her, screeching in happiness. Her eyes followed the creature closely. She was hardly blinking. Did it know this girl? Emmet was unsure.
She knitted her brow as Ingo came into view. She watched Emmet’s brother verrry carefully, confusion in her gaze. Ingo had stopped too, watching the woman. He cocked his head.
“Hello. I… feel that I may recognize you. Might I ask your name, Miss?” Ingo’s voice was startlingly loud in the space around them. Emmet almost wanted to cover his own ears, though he knew his own reception of it was muted.
She continued to stare at him for some time. Emmet wondered if she could talk.
From her mouth tumbled a series of words that Emmet could not understand. She was still watching Ingo with wide eyes. Her body was beginning to shake like a leaf in the wind.
Emmet blanched. His mouth dropped open with Ingo’s response, in the same language she must have been speaking.
The girl breathed out a sigh of relief and nodded. Then she said something else Emmet could not begin to comprehend. Ingo’s posture relaxed some as the two spoke. This continued for a minute or two before Emmet grew bored. He stepped forward and placed a hand on Ingo’s shoulder. The girl’s attention flicked to him, making her tense up again even as her eyebrows knitted together again. “Brother, who is this? Do you know her? She speaks the same way you did when you reappeared.”
“Ah! Yes, I do believe I remember her… somehow. Not very well, mind you. She says she simply appeared here, she seems to have fallen. She hid in this alley because the cars and lights were confusing to her. I believe we met in my last terminal.” Ingo’s eyes flicked between Emmet and the woman.
“What is her name?” Emmet asked him, tilting his head. Ingo met his eyes but said nothing for a moment.
“She cannot remember.” He turned his attention back to the girl, who was looking between the two of them, her eyes wide. She spoke, asking a question, from the sound of it. Ingo responded in kind.
“What are you two saying? I cannot understand.” Emmet grinned a little in confusion as he said this. This was not how he expected his night to go.
“She is asking about you. I am explaining our relation, currently. I am concerned for her, though. I feel that she was rather close with me in my last terminal, but I cannot remember why…” He brought a hand to his chin as he thought.
“Like a girlfriend?”
“No!” His voice was louder than even he had intended, and the girl flinched. “You know that neither of us care for those kinds of connections! She is merely a friend… maybe even a close friend. Perhaps I will recall more as time goes on.”
“Hmm.” Emmet simply hummed his affirmation, smirking at Ingo’s outburst. “What is she going to do?” he asked.
Ingo shook his head. “I fear for her. It is clear she has nowhere to go. Perhaps… would it be alright if-”
“Yes. She can stay.” Emmet did not need to hear the rest of the question in order to understand what he was about to ask. Ingo relayed the information to the woman, whose posture began to relax slightly again. She said something in return. Ingo nodded and beckoned, whistling to Gliscor. It was still sticking close to the woman, though she did not seem to share the sentiment it had. She recoiled from it.
The girl followed the twins home, glancing feverishly at the buildings and the pokemon around. Thankfully, not many people were out anymore. It did not take long for the three of them to find their way to the twins’ apartment. Ingo led them inside as Emmet unlocked the door, swinging it open. Several Joltik met them at the door, sparking and buzzing in excitement. Emmet smiled brightly as he scooped them up. “Did you wait for us? Oh, look at you, guarding the house while we are gone! Come on, babies, I’ll feed you. I know you lot are hungry- Marvin, stop trying to get to the sockets! I told you no!” He scooped up all the Joltik he came across, sweeping them into the kitchen so that he could feed them properly. After he was finished and the spiders were all happily munching, Emmet went back to the main room to remove his uniform. Ingo already had.
“Emmet, take your shoes off.”
“My babies needed nourishment.”
“It is nearly time for this batch to go be released anyway-”
“Do not ruin this for me, Ingo.” Emmet grinned as he shrugged off his coat and neatly hung it up in the closet. Ingo rolled his eyes as he retreated to their bedroom, likely to change and prep things for their guest.
Speaking of which, she stood by the door, watching him intently. Emmet waved at her, still smiling. He might as well try to be cordial, he figured. “I am Emmet.” He pointed at himself. “Emmet.”
She tilted her head slightly. “Em-met?”
Emmet nodded vigorously. “Emmet! I am Emmet!” Then he pointed at her. “You?”
She shrugged her shoulders, casting her eyes down at the ground. Emmet noticed that her cuffs were adorned with light-colored stones, all cut perfectly circular. “Emmet?” Ingo emerged, his hair mussed from his hat, hauling a blanket. “We have no guest room, so I believe we may have to make do with the couch.”
“That sounds doable. If she does not remember her name, how should we address her?”
“Allow me to ask.” He turned and translated the question. She paused, not speaking, picking at her cuffs in embarrassment.
“What if we called her Pearl? She seems fond of them.” Emmet pointed at the stones in her cuffs and necklace, making her flinch. Ingo asked her a question again in the strange tongue, which she replied to eagerly.
“She likes that notion. She says that the word holds some sort of importance for her, though she cannot remember what it is. Regardless, it will suffice for now.” Ingo clapped twice. “Bravo! Now, Emmet, if you would like to shower first, I can show Pearl around a bit. Perhaps make sure our partners do not get too close. She seems rather frightened of pokemon.”
Emmet nodded and strolled from the room, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes as he marched into the bathroom. Afraid of pokemon? How unfortunate. What an odd night it had been, he marveled to himself.

Home Again
cw: fluff, post-cyrus in hisui, epilogue of sorts to this fic
pairing: Cyrus/Reader
You crashed against the couch, nearly exhausted from the day. Cyrus had followed in closely behind you, careful to lock the door and take a look around the apartment. How long had it been since you last felt the familiar comfort of this home? You were suddenly taken one night in your sleep by Arceus, and everything was almost exactly as you had left it.
It had been even longer since the blue-haired man had been home. All the food in the fridge that was not some kind of preserved was a horrifying abomination to peer in at, while a load of laundry still rested in the dryer, the air was still OK summer temperatures despite the drop down to autumn climate outside, and the bed was still made on one side.
Cleaning would come, yes, but not right now. Not after having fallen from a portal yet again to a different place in both time and space and the stress of a certain red-headed woman crying about the return of the Galactic Boss. She literally began to call the other two commanders, to which Cyrus had to stop her by stating he would like to do it himself. You were just standing there in your Galaxy Team uniform, trying not to wonder why she was bringing flowers up to the top of Mt. Coronet. Thankfully, you both soon managed to depart and make the arduous journey home from the middle of Sinnoh to Veilstone.
You watched as he found his laptop from where you had hidden it away. He took a seat at the table and instantly found himself buried in whatever he had saved to it. You lifted your head with a slight curious glance at him. Well, you suppose he did suffer the most out of the two of you when forced away from technology. Hisui had next to none. You were thankfully for the random Rotom catalogue pieces that fell through the portals, as those at least kept him entertained (as did the Rotom you captured for him).
But, now, it hit you.
You really were back home.
What must have been a year spent away in Hisui going through what felt trial after trial after trial, then to be given your boyfriend by pure chance and have to help him adapt to the strange world you were both stuck in was now centuries into the past. You were back in modern Sinnoh. A train had been ridden home. You both had stopped in a convenience store for a ready-made meal. Gazing out the window, you could see the twinkling of electric lights. Your clothing suddenly felt odd. Cyrus had already changed while he searched for the laptop.
You pulled a picture out from your jacket and gazed at it. Before you had departed back to the modern era, you had demanded a picture be taken of you, Cyllene and Cyrus. A memento to not forget the time you had spent together. It was strange to think she was gone now. You could never speak to her again or witness her funny little quirks or how she would secretly dote on her Abra and subordinates. Her legacy was all that remained.
And it sat at your table, hopefully not trying to pick up where it left its plans off.
You brought the picture to him and broke his attention from the screen. “Hey, do you think you could scan this, just in case we somehow lose it?” you asked him. Cyrus stared at it for a moment, clearly at a loss for words. Perhaps it was difficult for him to truly view himself as her descendant within the same era as her, but now it was plainly obvious. Where his parents had failed to show him the love of a family, she had succeeded. Not once had she made the same harsh rejection he had come to expect from his parents.
“Of course,” he agreed, “It is a precious artefact.” You smiled at him and decided to sit with him at the table. The picture now safely in his possession. You frowned at the emblem printed on the back of his laptop. Team Galactic… You had no idea what had become of it. It had already been falling apart after Charon had tried taking it over, but you knew it would almost certainly come back together with the Cyrus back at the helm.
“… Mmm, we'll need to groceries… Do you think your bank account still works?” you asked, breaking the silence between his ceaseless typing.
“It's as I left it,” he replied, “I did leave Saturn in charge of everything. It appears he barely touched anything.” Food was secured at the very least. Where would he go from here? He technically still had companies that he was in charge of if Saturn had taken care of what Cyrus had left to him. “… I am not planning to attempt my plans with the Red Chain again, please calm down,” he suddenly closed the laptop to look at you, “My goals to complete spirit must be possible… I will have to search elsewhere for it, but you may be rest easy that I have moved away from my previous plans.”
You felt your shoulders drop in relief. His eyes reflected the genuineness in his words. It seemed like everything was truly over with that spoken. Maybe you could dare even let your guard drop again and live a normal life. “Arceus – I was terrified you were going to end up like Volo,” you sighed. Cyrus's face grew dark.
“… Even when that child stood opposed to me, I never intended to harm her,” his gaze met yours, “Furthermore, I would never harm you specifically. I know that I would have to deal with you being an obstruction should I try again, too. And seeing as you are willing to risk your life…” Cyrus's gaze broke from yours. You felt a laugh nearly leave you. Oh, so the line was drawn when you might end up dying. That was certainly interesting.
“Yeah, yeah, I don't want you to die either, Cy,” you smiled and brought your hand to hold his, “… Well, as long as you know that if you try to pull anything insane again, I will stop you, let's just forget it. I'd rather figure out what's going to happen now.” He nodded. The world may not forgive him, but he was at least aware that he could work to change himself.
“Then, tomorrow, let's go grocery shopping,” Cyrus gave a rare soft smile, “We have countless things to get caught up on…” His eyes darted back to his laptop.
Yes, there were many, many things for you two to follow what happened in your absence.
Not to mention that laundry really needed to be folded.
You began to get up to do just that when you heard a loud banging on your door and sobbing. Cyrus seemed to ignore it as he opened the laptop again. You stepped towards the apartment door and peered out the peephole.
“Maaasterrrrr Cyyyyyyruuussss,” a familiar dark-blue haired man cried on the other side, clawing at the door like an upset Meowth.
“Saturn's here!”
“Don't let him in.”

Cold front swooped in, inspired some doodles
Sinnoh’s pretty cold in both game/anime canon so Gris has to be bundled up as soon as autumn hits.
Ingo’s used to it but can’t help but poke a little fun at Gris’s dilemma

Donut Hole - Chapter 12
Rises the Moon
You'll be visited by sleep I promise you that soon the autumn comes To steal away each dream you keep Breathe, breathe, breathe...
[In which Ingo struggles, Gaeric and Sabi steal the spotlight, and Barry has weird dreams. Beta read by my anonymous bestie and @waywardstation!]
Barry stood in front of a black and silver coffin that loomed over him like a monolith. With a creaking groan, the coffin’s silver eyes gleamed from the darkness, a toothy maw frowning down at him.
Cofagrigus.
It sighed, sounding like sandpaper. “Not many passengers travel to this station alive.” the Cofagrigus croaked, its voice booming off the walls. “What is it that you seek, mortal?”
“I want my friend back!” Barry shouted. “I’ll do anything! I’ll give up my own life! I’ll give up all of the money I’ve saved! Just give her back to me! I’ll fine you if you don’t!”
The Cofagrigus narrowed its eyes. “A noble destination. And yet, you don’t appear to have a ticket. You have yet to die. You do not belong here.”
“Neither does my friend!” he countered. “She’s not dead! SHE’S NOT DEAD! I KNOW IT!”
The Cofagrigus’ expression was totally unreadable. “You have traveled very far. This is most admirable of you. This is something - and someone - that you care very deeply about.”
It let out another sigh, although it sounded more like the hissing of old metal pipes. “I will make you a deal, mortal passenger. I will allow you to take your friend, and the two of you may leave.”
Barry fell to his knees. Finally. Finally! “THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you, thank you-”
“LET ME FINISH!” The Cofagrigus roared. “You must walk in front of her. If you turn around before the two of you reach your stop, then she must stay with Us for the rest of all eternity. And you can never return, and you will never see her again. Are these instructions clear?”
Slowly, he nodded. “Y-Yeah. Yeah, I understand.”
“Good. Begin your journey. And remember to stand clear of the closing doors, please.”
---
Ingo glanced at the boy laying completely limp in Lady Sneasler’s arms. Aside from a subtle shift or quiet noise, the boy was all but dead to the world.
It was disconcerting, honestly. Clearly, he hadn’t been getting enough sleep during his time here. Although Ingo could guess that from the boy’s physical state alone. He wondered how much of this was from the sleep powder, and how much of it was pure exhaustion.
For what felt like the hundredth time, Ingo took a moment to look over the boy, making sure he was still breathing and not uncomfortable.
“Kidnapping. I am kidnapping. I am currently kidnapping a child that I do not know, but somehow may know me.” he muttered to himself, pulling some stray twigs and leaves from the boy’s hair. “I am abducting a child. I have broken the rules of battle. Dear Sinnoh, what is wrong with me?”
Lady Sneasler made a low grumble, nudging him with her snout. “M-Maybe this was a bad idea.” he continued to mutter. “Maybe I could have talked to him. Maybe I have gone too far. Maybe I am already too far gone. You should find another Warden-"
Nudging him a bit harder, Lady Sneasler huffed. She looked down at the boy in her arms, a plaintive croon in her throat.
“...You are right, as usual. Berry needs medical assistance. Who knows how long he’s been out here braving the elements. Then, maybe with his cab repaired, he’ll be more open to hearing us.”
He fixed his cap to shield from the quickly rising sun. “I’m sure it’ll be a change for you to be carrying someone else into camp for a medical check-up.” he muttered.
She snorted at that - a rough approximation of laughter for her.
Ingo was no survivalist, that was certain. He would often need to go in - or be dragged in - for the smallest of scrapes or the largest of bruises. And while he had gotten better with time and practice, his trips to Calaba’s medical tent were far too frequent for his liking.
(He didn’t recall living like this…wherever he lived before. And while the specifics were lost to him, he missed them dearly. Like air conditioning. He did not remember what an ‘air conditioning’ was. But God, did he miss it.)
Behind them, a twig snapped.
Warden and Noble whipped around, Ingo’s grip tight on gliscor’s pokeball, only to find nothing. Lady Sneasler let out a warning growl.
It certainly seemed like nothing. But Ingo had his suspicions. He waited a moment, looking for the subtlest of movement, finding none.
Only a truly desperate pokemon - or one with a completely cracked conscience - would attack a Noble Pokemon.
After a moment of consideration, Ingo released gliscor from its ball. “Gliscor, I want you to accompany us while we travel, at least until we reach the Icelands.” he said plainly, eyes narrowed as he scanned the horizon a final time. “An extra pair of eyes during the journey.”
Gliscor, while a little confused, chirped in agreement and took to the skies.
Lady Sneasler turned to Ingo, holding Berry a little tighter in her arms. “Relax, my Lady. I’d rather be more prepared than not. Gliscor is just a little extra security, at least until we reach Warden Gaeric.”
Satisfied with this answer, they continued on their route.
Ingo wanted to reach the settlement as quickly as possible. If Berry awoke in his care, he absolutely wouldn’t have the heart to put the boy back to sleep. Luckily, Ingo and his Lady knew all of the mountain routes.
It was a relieving sight to see the snow of the Icelands. Less places for pokemon to hide, Ingo thought.
He’d never say it outloud, but the fact that Berry’s pokemon had ‘abandoned’ the boy so quickly had confused him. Truthfully, he doubted that Berry’s partner was far. But, hopefully, the bright greens and pinks would stand out against the snow.
He was broken from these thoughts by the loud calls of Lord Braviary flying above them. Gliscor chirruped in reply, flying lower to give Lord Braviary the higher position.
“Ah. Sabi and Braviary, right on schedule. Let us divert routes slightly and follow. I have no doubt they will lead us to Gaeric.”
A new problem bubbled in Ingo’s mind. How was he going to explain this? After the meeting with Palina, he had told himself that he needed to intervene. He wasn’t about to let this child run around, potentially getting himself killed.
Putting the child to sleep with tangela and safely taking him to the settlement was the best course of action, in his mind. From Palina’s account, if he had managed to settle the boy down, Berry could’ve easily turned tail and ran. With the boy asleep, Ingo could now easily take the child to get the help he needed.
But now he had an unconscious child. How was he going to explain this?
“Kidnapping. I am kidnapping.” he began muttering again, despite Lady Sneasler’s grumblings.
“Look out belooooww!”
Warden Sabi lept from her Noble’s back, landing in a pile of snow to cushion the fall.
“Ah, greetings, Warden Sabi!” Ingo said with a nod. “Are you quite alright?”
Sabi poked her head from the snow. “Yes! I know exactly which pile of snow will cushion my fall and not break every bone in my body!”
“How…reassuring.”
She dusted off the snow from her parka. “I see you have Barry, our guest in Hisui. I foresaw you bringing him.”
“Ah, his name is Berry.”
Sabi blinked at him. “That’s what I said. And, and, and, I know you’re all twisty anxious inside because of using sleep powder on him.” She tugged on his coat as she said this, pointing to Berry with her other hand.
“Well…I do feel quite bad about it.” Ingo admitted with a grimace. “I know your powers of foresight are still developing…but…can you reassure me that I did the right thing?”
“Of course you made the right decision!” Sabi said, with no hesitation. “If you hadn’t, he would’ve run away!” Her voice dipped to a whisper. “And possibly even kicked you in the body part I’m not allowed to talk about.”
“AH. I certainly do not want that!” He said with a nervous chuckle. “Thank you. Miss Sabi. I feel…much better. It will still be a little tricky to explain this to the settlement, but your reassurances have comforted me.”
“I can help cover for Gaeric.” she offered, hopping like a buneary. “But I wanna see him! Iscan said he looked like a ghost!”
Ingo and Lady Sneasler began walking to Avalugg’s legacy, Lord Braviary already circling the mass of glaciers. “I am certain Warden Gaeric will want to look at him as well, why don’t you come with? You can see him then.”
Sabi stopped jumping, crossing her arms and puffing her cheeks in a pout. “I knew you’d say that…but I was hoping I was wrong.” But regardless of her pouting, she tagged along.
“Can you tell me then, what will happen after I bring Berry to the settlement?” Ingo tried to ask. Sabi’s premonitions were usually very accurate…when she would divulge in them anyway.
As he somewhat expected, Sabi shook her head. “Sorry, I can’t interfere in this one. At least not now!”
How cryptic. And unhelpful.
“Can you reassure me one more time, then? That everything regarding this boy will work out?”
“Everything works out eventually!” she answered with a large smile.
For reasons he couldn’t quite explain, this did not reassure him.
---
Barry walked down the dark, tiled hallways. The distant rumblings of subway trains echoed, their presence felt, but never seen.
Speaking of felt, but never seen…
“Are you there?” he asked the girl behind him.
No answer.
The Cofagrigus had promised that once he turned around and started walking, [____] would follow behind him. But she wouldn’t speak, and if he turned around to check, she would be gone forever.
Barry had to believe the Cofagrigus’ words…because belief was all he had.
“This is just like when we’d play follow the leader, when we were really little.” Barry said, breaking the silence. “And, and I would get really butthurt whenever it was your turn, and because I said your way of doing it was boring…”
“I’m uh…I’m really sorry about that.”
There were a lot of tiny things he never got the chance to apologize for. Accidentally stepping on her shoes, borrowing a nice pencil and losing it before he could return it, times where his teasings went a little too hard-
“...did you vanish because of me? Did you not like me anymore?”
No reply.
A train rumbled from somewhere.
Barry kept walking.
---
“A visit from Ingo and Sabi? And their Nobles as well? What have I done to be given such an honor?” Gaeric called from one of the smaller chunks of ice, already climbing down.
“As much as I’d love to visit purely for pleasantries…I bring more serious matters to this stop.” Ingo said, straightening his back to show he meant business.
“Well, that is ominous.” Gaeric said, glancing between the three. Finally, he settled on Lady Sneasler. “What is the Lady of the Highlands holding?”
Ingo glanced at Sabi, hoping she was serious earlier. “Well, I…took the matters of the boy - ‘Berry’ - into my own hands.”
Gaeric frowned, looking at Ingo as one would look at a wurmple solving complex equations. “...what does that mean?”
“I encountered the boy in the Highlands early this morning. I challenged him to a pokemon battle, and then I had tangela use sleep powder while his guard was down.” Ingo said, jerking his head to Lady Sneasler. “And then, Lady Sneasler and I brought him here.”
Gaeric continued to stare. “...Ingo that’s kidnapping.”
Sabi piped up, “But Warden Ingo had to! I saw the other futures, and all of them had Berry running away! It was a necessessesary evil!”
“Necessary.” Gaeric corrected, crossing his arms over his chest. “I thought we weren’t going to interfere? Last we checked, this kid was supposed to be in the Mirelands, making him a Diamond Clan problem.”
Ingo awkwardly shuffled in place. “Ah, yes. About that. I believe the Diamond Clan are busy-”
“Berry caused a landslide!” Sabi shouted, throwing up her hands for emphasis. “He upset the Alpha Onix and crushed half the settlement!”
“Wow, Ingo, thanks for bringing this being of destruction in human form back home! Great job!” Gaeric snarked. “I was hoping we wouldn’t have to deal with this!”
Gaeric was only trying to keep the Pearl Clan safe, but Ingo bristled at the comment regardless. “I work hard to ensure the safety of ALL passengers, regardless of affiliation!” he said, feeling his voice begin to creep louder. “I was not going to sit idly by and let this child die in the mountains!”
“OK! OK! I get it! Relax, Warden Ingo.” changing topics, he pointed at Sabi. “Why is she here?”
“I wanted to see!”
Ingo shrugged. “She wanted to see.”
Mulling over this answer, Gaeric nodded. “Alright, I want to see as well. I will admit I’m a little curious. Zorua, ghost, feral child, embodiment of chaos, let’s see him!”
He approached Lady Sneasler. “My Good Lady of the Highlands, permit me to see your charge?”
Lady Sneasler, always accepting of flattery, rumbled in reply. She adjusted her grip on the boy - having previously been holding him close to her fur - to let Gaeric and Sabi see.
Ingo couldn’t help but glance over as well, frowning as the boy started to shiver. His coat might’ve helped him in the weather once before, but not when it was riddled with tears and holes.
“Damn.” Gaeric said, looking over the boy. “What did you do to him, Ingo?”
Ingo’s voice went dangerously soft. “If you are implying that I hurt this child-”
“I’m not! I’m not!” Gaeric quickly backpedaled, hands raised. “Trying to joke! Palina said he was looking a little worse for wear, and that was a week ago. I doubt spending a week in the mountains was easy on him.”
“Look at his clothes!” Sabi squeaked, poking Berry’s leg. “They look weird!”
“Kind of reminds me of when we first found you…” Gaeric muttered, mostly to himself. He picked up Berry’s left arm, squinting at the metallic bracelet.
“A-Ah! Please do not wake up my passenger!” Ingo stammered. “I’d hate to put him to sleep again, it was terrible for my conscience.”
Gaeric turned, looking incredulous. He moved Berry’s arm like a limp noodle, the boy having no reaction whatsoever. “Ingo. He’s not waking up any time soon, look at this.”
Ingo felt his blood run cold. “...is..is he-”
“No, no, no. No. He’s just out.” the Pearl Warden reassured him.
“He won’t wake up for several more hours.” Sabi agreed.
“I still don’t appreciate you treating him like an object. Stop poking him like that. He needs serious help.”
“Ingooooo.” Sabi chimed. “Your insides are still all twisty! You gotta tell Gaeric everything.”
“E-Everything?”
“Oh, you better not be keeping secrets from me, Ingo.” Gaeric said with a scowl. “Out with it!”
Ingo stared at Berry in his Noble’s arms. With a nervous sigh, he explained. “During the battle…Berry acted strange. I expected it, truthfully, seeing as he’s clearly not from here.”
He looked at Gaeric, pausing his ramblings for a moment to see if the other Pearl Warden had a reaction. But his face was stoic, and his arms crossed over his chest was a clear sign of being closed off.
Ingo continued, trying to swallow a lump forming in his throat.. “When…when I look at this boy, I just feel a strange sense of familiarity. That I have met him, or someone like him before. I know this sounds strange! I am aware! But I cannot shake this feeling!”
Gaeric slowly turned back to Berry, taking a closer look at the child’s face. “...no, I can see it too.”
“You do?”
“Yes.” he swept some of the boy’s hair from his face. “Look, see? The bangs, the round face - he looks like Lady Irida!”
“...Oh.” Ingo said, his voice devoid of emotion. “I suppose he does.”
Gaeric took note of the boy shivering, even in Lady Sneasler’s arms. “We should take him to the settlement. Have Calaba give him a once over.” He pointed at Sabi, gesturing at Lord Braviary. “No Diamond Wardens allowed. Go on, fly off now.”
Sabi stuck her tongue at him. “I predict you’ll stub your toes before the day ends!” she said with a huff before whistling for Lord Braviary.
“Ingo. I am going to be honest with you.” Gaeric said as he watched Sabi fly off. He talked big, but he always made sure that she was OK. “I think what you did was a terrible idea.”
“I knew you would not like it.” Ingo admitted. “If I am also being honest, you do not like outsiders at all. I just…he’s all alone, in a land that’s so hostile. It’s like he came out of nowhere.”
“I wonder why you feel so inclined to act, then.” Gaeric cracked a grin at that.
Ingo wasn’t so amused.
“Really, I mean it. I respect your decisions and I respect you.” Gaeric clarified. “But I just have a bad feeling.” He shifted from one leg to the other, looking at the snow. “...Lord Avalugg has been acting strange. He’s done nothing but sleep. But I can tell that there is a well of energy just under the surface.”
“You are worried.”
He nodded. “Very much so.” Sighing and rubbing at the bridge of his nose, he said, “Lord Avalugg requires my attention, and now we have this feral child to deal with-”
“Accompany Lady Sneasler and I to the Settlement, then return to your Lord.” Ingo offered. “Palina should be there for her visit, the rest of us can keep an eye on Berry.”
Taking a moment to mull it over, Gaeric said, “I’ll take you up on that. I can keep an eye on the settlement from the Icepeak and care for Lord Avalugg. Promise me everything is under control?”
Ingo fixed his cap. “I will not let this mission derail. I will take the utmost care of both passenger and station!”
---
Ingo, Gaeric, and Lady Sneasler attracted quite a crowd when they arrived at the settlement. But upon seeing the boy in Sneasler’s arms, the crowd gave the three a wide berth.
Lady Irida and her glaceon pushed her way through the crowd, followed close behind by Palina and Calaba. “Who do you have?! Is it one of our own? Is it Lian?! Is Lian OK-”
She saw glimpses of Berry’s blonde hair in Lady Sneasler’s arms, pausing her terrified ramblings. Irida immediately stepped back, concern and fear quickly replaced with confusion.
“Who is that?”
“It’s that boy that’s been running amok. Berry, I believe.”
“You kidnapped him?!” Palina shouted, quickly darting to Lady Sneasler’s side to inspect the child, “What did you do?!”
“You brought him here?” Irida asked, trying to remain calm, flickers of panic peeking through her confused guise.
“I have…subdued him-” Ingo began to explain.
“All Wardens to my home for an emergency meeting!” Irida announced, cutting Ingo off with a firm look. “Bring the boy. Everyone else is dismissed!”
“I actually have duties with my Lord, I cannot stay.” Gaeric said in a hush tone. “I will calm the crowd before I leave.”
Irida thanked him profusely as the others began to make way for her home. Ingo could feel dozens of eyes on him, on his Lady, and he wondered if he could’ve done this better.
He probably could have. Oh well.
Just outside of Irida’s home, Lady Sneasler rumbled. She shifted her grip, ready to hand off the child to someone else. Palina held out her hands, carefully taking Berry into her arms.
“...he’s lighter than when I carried him.” She muttered. “Not that much, but enough to be noticeable.”
“Thank you, my good Lady. For carrying the passenger so far, and so carefully.” Ingo said, tipping his cap.
Calaba slid the door open for the two of them, getting a half decent look at the boy limp as a doll in Palina’s arms. “...Zoruas can’t play dead for this long.” she finally muttered.
“It’s because he’s a child.” Palina snapped, brushing past the old woman. “Just like I said he was.”
Palina gingerly toed off her shoes before stepping into the home proper. Ingo followed closely behind, laying out some blankets on the floor to place the boy onto. Calaba knelt beside him, her mouth a grim frown. “...this is much worse that I imagined.”
“Warden Ingo,” Irida had finally caught up to them, zeroing in on Ingo in particular. “What did you do? What possessed you to bring him here?”
“After our previous meeting, I could not allow myself to stand idly by, waiting for this boy to accidentally kill himself out there. I believe I know better than anyone else how harsh Hisui can be for those unused to it. He is all on his own, in a strange land where he recognizes no one-”
“It must be strange for you, carrying someone else into the settlement for medical care.” Calaba wheezed a quiet laugh at that. Ingo rolled his eyes.
Irida shifted her gaze to Berry now, carefully stepping closer as if he would leap up and strike. “That’s very noble of you…but what did you do to him?”
“Melli told me he caused a landslide. So I waited at Bolderoll Ravine for him. Once there, I asked him to battle with me, and I had tangela use sleep powder on the boy instead of his pokemon. Finally, Lady Sneasler aided me in carrying him here.”
“So you kidnapped him.” Palina said.
“For a VERY GOOD CAUSE, MIND YOU.” Ingo shouted.
“I agree with you that it's a good cause, but this is very much kidnapping-”
“I AM AWARE.”
Palina winced at the volume. "It’s best that he receives medical attention-” she paused, a thought coming to mind. “Where are his pokemon? He had a kirlia, a piplup, and a burmy last I checked.”
Ingo reached into his coat to pull out Berry’s bag. “There are two pokeballs in here, and I scared away the kirlia evolution. That should account for all of them.”
“Kirlia evolution?” Calaba questioned. “There’s only two; gardevoir and gallade. Which one did he have?”
“Neither. It was a combination of both. Lady Sneasler scared it away after I put him to sleep. I haven’t seen a trace of it since then.”
Irida chewed on her bottom lip, looking Berry up and down. Glaceon weaved its way around them all, stepping to the boy’s face and sniffing him. Glaceon paused, eyes narrowed and a low growl in her throat.
“Glaceon, stop that now.” Irida said dismissively.
This boy clearly didn’t belong to them, nor the Diamond clan. His clothing marked him as a clear outsider, being a foreign material and strangely colored. He used pokeballs, but hated the Galaxy team. And Irida had seen the defector that Jubilife had warned them about with her very own eyes in the coastlands with Palina.
Where did this boy come from?
She cleared her throat. “I…I think the best course of action is to patch him up, and hopefully when he wakes up, I can talk to him.”
“You’ll have to remove any garb with the Pearl Clan insignia.” Ingo said, opening his coat slightly to show the lack of his typical tunic. “I had to wear this plain one for him to even talk to me.”
The idea of the Clan leader not wearing the Clan symbol was practically sacrilege. “We will…cross that bridge when we get there.” Irida said with a nervous shrug. “For now, Calaba, can I leave him in your hands?”
Calaba’s wrinkled hands carefully grazed the boy’s arms, brow furrowing as she noted all the scrapes, bruises, and poorly-tied bandages. “I’m hoping all of this is purely surface level. But who knows how much damage could be below the surface.”
“He was limping.” Ingo said quietly. “Left leg. Same as-”
“Same as the drapion attack.” Palina finished for him. “If he’s been walking on it, it probably hasn’t healed right.”
“I’ll definitely need to look at that, then.” Calaba said as she stood. “Ingo. Help me carry the waif to my tent-”
“I would love to assist, Lady Calaba, however I must refuse.” Ingo tipped his cap down, looking at Irida. “I want to speak with Lady Irida alone.”
The leader in question tensed ever so slightly. “O-Of course. My home and space is always open for discussions with my Wardens.”
Palina would carry Berry to the medical tent, Calaba muttering about ‘internal bruising’ and ‘carrying bad luck’, while Ingo and Irida would stay and talk.
Just outside the village gates, hidden in the dark and the snow, a pokemon waited. It looked not quite like a gardevoir, but not quite like a gallade either.
Fern’s gaze lingered on the Noble Sneasel still meandering around the settlement, greeting the children and other Pearl clan members.
Fern would have to wait until she was gone…but once she was, Fern would be getting her friend back.
[Definitely a Low-Key chapter, but things are gonna go REAL CRAZY in the next one :) Also, happy Birthday Legends Arceus!]

The kricketot march is here!
In a few days the kricketot hatching festival will be taking place in Sinnoh, an event that takes place every five years. There will be stalls and souvenirs, and contests such as "largest kricketot", "lightest kricketot" and "most melodic".
Kricketune rely on what is called a leppa mast, when the leppa trees sync up and release a vast quantity of fruit. Though they usually fruit to some extent, the amount of food they produce on a normal year isn't enough. When conditions are right, however, the flowering and fruiting cycles sync up. The mass release of pollen before the fruiting begins is the trigger for the beautiful event that is the kricketune mating season, where the sound of harmonising calls echoes through the autumn woods.
Once the berries are ripe and the female has eaten her fill, she'll lay her eggs under the soil to wait out the winter. Her and every other female in the area. Upon hatching, the young kricketots must run the gauntlet of hungry predators in order to reach shelter, with many falling prey and feeding the new spring hatchlings of other pokemon.
And this year is going to be something special. Due to unforeseen weather events last year, the leppa fruiting also lined up with an unusually heavy fruiting of pecha berries, doubling the already massive amount of fruit available in a "super mast". Field researchers were reporting some kricketune females laying as many as three clutches due to the glut.
This is going to be a LEGENDARY hatching, with potentially over a million kricketot bumbling anxiously through the woods.
Please keep in mind:
Sunhat, sunscreen, and water. This is going to be a warm spring, so take care of your own health. Wear solid, sensible shoes and take a packed lunch.
Walk with care. New hatched kricketot are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and are easily stepped on. Slow, shuffling steps are safest.
This is primarily a festival for children. Though the odds of spotting a shiny are higher due to the mass hatching, if you see a wide eyed kid spot a shiny at the same time you do, do the courteous thing and let the kid have the first throw.
Though mostly for catching kricketot, consider this a chance to take home other pokemon. This superhatching event is going to overwhelm the predator population, leaving them slow and sleepy. Take care you aren't catching a pokemon that may have young back at the nest, if it breaks free on the first attempt, let it go. But there's going to be plenty of other pokemon to try.
Be aware that you may see a lot of kricketot being eaten. If you struggle with this aspect of nature, take care of yourself.
Newly hatched kricketot are small and soft, and shouldn't fight. As well, considering the dangers they face, they're very anxious pokemon. Leave them in their pokeball in a dark, quiet room when you bring them home and give them a few hours to settle.

Thoughts on Brock x Olivia?
Could be cute. But their age difference is a tad to big for me (Brock is 15 while Olivia got to be on her 20s so... no.)
In general I'm not too invested in Brock's ships *shrugs*
If anything, I would say I have some preference towards the maid from Sinnoh, Autumn. Or BrockxMisty (I find their similar family dynamics quite interesting and the idea of Misty still pulling his ears due to her being jealous, instead of him being flirty is really fun to me!)

Hello, Urbosa. As a native resident of Sinnoh myself (where you, Zelda, and Link currently are) I would highly recommend getting yourself a jacket at the very least.
...Unless you just have ridiculous amounts of cold tolerance, in which case feel free to ignore this.
(@legendsobsessions)
If I am to be honest, long-sleeved clothing feels unbearably restricting. So I will pass on that, unless it snows.
you know it snows like a lot when it's winter, right?
What season is it? Also, is that you, Link?
yep! i'm purple.
and it's late autumn.
...I see.

The Old Chateau - History and Overview
Eterna Forest's Old Chateau (dubbed in recent years by the locals as Mori no Yōkan (森の洋館)) is a sprawling estate situated in the north of the forest, nestled within large throngs of evergreen trees. The style of the manor is perplexing, mirror the architectural style of buildings commonly found overseas in regions like Unova or Galar.
Though a lot of the history of the family that built their mansion there has been lost to time, the style of the building makes sense upon learning of the family's overseas origin. They moved over to Sinnoh by boat, seeking to expand their business in an outside market.
This family, however, was besmirched and cursed by their own misfortune.
The boat ride over had been treacherous, as choppy waters and rough waves unlike any seen before battered the ship. It nearly capsized a couple of times, but fortunately remained righted as they made their first step into the Sinnoh region. With ungodly amounts of wealth, they were able to predetermine where they wanted their new estate built before they had even touched down on the land, having planned it all out long before they officially arrived.
Enough of the mansion had been built already for them to live in at the time, though by the time the manor had actually been finished in the early 1940's, tragedy struck.
The family dined separately from their staff of butlers and maids, and one of their rather old butlers had suffered a fatal heart attack during dinner. It happened right at the table, killing him before anyone could even think to move and help.
Since that day, both the family and the staff saw strange happening in the dining room. An apparition of this ghostly butler often seen sitting in the very place he died, sometimes moving towards the kitchen area. Upon entering, he was nowhere to be found, but the area took on an unmistakable chill.
This would not be the last of their misfortunes. The husband of the family would go on to have an affair with a woman from his now failing business - a secretary - leaving his wife to find out the hard way upon his affair partner becoming pregnant, and then dumping their child on him.
Though his wife was indescribably irate, she would stay, if only for the money.... but it became clear that this treachery had made this a woman most wicked. As the illegitimate daughter would grow older, so would the woman's ire. It was harder to look at the girl and not be reminded of her husband's betrayal.
In a fit of hysteria, one fateful autumn night, the wife would dose her husband's meal with a lethal dose of poison, before locking the illegitimate daughter in an empty, windowless room. With her husband having keeled over within the next few hours of dinner, and the daughter abandoned in a forgotten room, the wife would take the other three children and leave the manor. They left the Sinnoh region entirely, a dead father, a dead daughter, and a dying business left in their wake.
By the time police had arrived to the manor for a wellness check, it was too late. They discovered the body of the husband, sat in a plush chair in the library, eerily still... as if he'd simply fallen asleep, and would wake to return to his reading material at any moment. They discovered the body of the illegitimate daughter next. They took both of the bodies away, and with no way to contact the wife, the manor was condemned and fell quickly into disrepair due to the harsh Sinnohan elements.
The Old Chateau was quickly accosted by various ghost-type pokemon, including a Rotom that quickly overtook the family's old black-and-white television, among other appliances. There was great death in this estate, and the negative feelings and emotions that took hold of the building drew them in in droves.
This forgotten manor became a place of urban myth and legend as well to the locals, with rumors spreading quickly about the ghostly butler, along with the room housing the ghostly spirit of the little girl. In the library where the husband died, there were rumors about a painting with glowing red eyes, and a book that, when moved, housed a secret room behind the shelves.
It's become a frequent spot for teenagers and young adults to take part in 'tests of course' (kimodameshi), though as of late the amount of ghosts and their ferocity has kept many at bay.
In the past decade, the path leading up to the manor had become extremely overgrown with various bushes and small plants, becoming entirely inaccessible to the masses. Perhaps, due to the nature of the manor, that was for the best.

Can you tell me how Deerling and Sawsbuck forms work? My Unovan friend told me they were based on the season, but while I was visiting Paldea, I found a Spring Form and Autumn Form Deerling three days apart?? Please explain, thank you!
Unova is a very temperate region compared to others- sawsbuck and deerling forms are actually corresponding to the weather and temperature they're exposed to. In Unova, this aligns pretty well with the turning of the seasons. In other regions, though, you can run into a mix of all of them.
They're not found here in Sinnoh, but I think they'd all be brown year-round the way the weather's been, haha.

WATERMELOOOON WEDNESDAAAAAAY 🍉🍉🍉🍉
———
[The video starts with Quartz rolling a fresh watermelon across the grass with her foot towards a Torterra basking in the sun. Cedar sees her and perks up, rumbling a little as he moves to turn towards her.
“Guess what day it is, buddy!” Quartz is heard cooing as she rolls the watermelon over to Cedar. “Watermelon Wednesday!!”
Cedar’s eyes light up when he sees the watermelon, and he slowly stomps over to it, giving it a few inspecting sniffs before he scoops it up into his mouth. He squeezes his jaws down on it, and the large fruit starts to break open with a loud “CRUUUUNCH”, red juice starting to drip down the sides of his mouth. Quartz then turns the camera towards her, showing her face. She’s wearing a pair of sunglasses, and her black hair with blue highlights is pulled back in a short ponytail. She also seems to be wearing a tank top.
“It’s hot as balls, so I also got a watermelon smoothie,” she says before she holds up a cup filled with light red slush up to her mouth and sipping it through a metal straw.
“And yes, contrary to popular belief, it does get hot in Sinnoh,” she adds as she lowers her smoothie again. “Or well, maybe for you folks in other regions this would just be a cool autumn day for you, I dunno.”
She sips her smoothie again before she turns the phone camera back to Cedar. He continues crunching on his watermelon for a few more seconds, before the video ends.]

im gonna be thinking about this game forever so heres random and extremely specific ideas/hopes for pokemon legends: z-a!
-i kinda hope and theorize the starter trio will be snivy, popplio, and scorbunny. snivy just fits the theme incredibly. piplup makes the most sense 100%, but i feel like having a gen 4 starter right after legends arceus would be a bit odd so i think popplio would be a really fun choice. and scorbunny fits because soccer is popular in france, we had a gen 7 starter in gen 8's legends game so we could have a gen 8 starter in gen 9's legends game, and i feel tpc and gamefreak always wanted cinderace to be popular but it never quite landed (i blame the monotyping tbh)
--personal typing hopes... grass/ice serperior, water/ghost primarina, fire/electric cinderace
-mega audino please. let mega audino return please. audino was in xy but had no mega, audino had a mega in oras but wasnt avaliable until postgame. please let me use mega audino
Tumblr media
-also, while im veryyy much hoping for kalosian regional variants, random idea: alongside variants, have some pokemon from gen 7-9 return, not as variants, but as their normal selves to get a mega evolution. please. mega tsareena and mega tinkaton would be so amazing, and itd be so cool for later gens to get mega forms!
-kalosian indeedee please!!!!!!!!!!!
-new types of pokeballs maybe? like a boomerang ball that comes flying back when you throw it. so like, when a pokemons attacking you, you throw this, and it flings back and hits the pokemon to catch it even if its offguard
-im reallyy excited for the city development concept. i loved how jubilife village progressively grew and got more full of life and had so many sidequests and characters. i hope lumiose city is that but taken even further
-i think we're going to be seeing a really big lumiose city, but i do feel like maybe some parts will still be in development and thus have natural areas where you can catch pokemon. i imagine itll be the same style as PLA where its not outright open world, but a hub area that connects to other areas. we see five big points on the map of lumiose city, and i could see those being five locations we travel to, while the center of lumiose city is our hub area
-i do hope we get to have an autumn-y area like laverre city. laverre city is SOOO close to lumiose city, maybe theres a part of the game that goes into that territory before its become laverre city. please let us see laverre city
-i think the region will still be called kalos, but i wonder if lumiose city will have a different name? pokemon masters and pokemon go are very clear on seperating sinnoh and hisui. so that makes me wonder how they'll seperate kalos and legends z-a. i feel like one names gotta change
-ive seen a lot of theories that Z-A means there will be a zygarde counterpart and i think that makes sense! xerneas represents life, yveltal represents death, zygarde represents order. so perhaps "A" is a being of chaos that represents disorder. perhaps one zygarde has to battle and destroy, which is why we never hear about it in the future storywise.
-random but i feel like there will be a hex maniac ancestor they know we love her they put her in pokemon masters i feel like they'll properly characterize her at this point
-this isnt a prediction but im not ready to let go of sprigatito and move on. can they put sprigatito in the game please
-completely random: i want cheryl from dppt to be our eeby deebied character. i adore her shes my favorite pokemon character i want her to go on a silly random adventure. the kalos region used to be mostly forest so maybe she becomes some sorta forest maiden but really talented at battling to those who find her.
-volo
