On this lovely Tuesday, I have to say I'm dwelling on how funny it is that the younger me thought Athene was so cool, so calm, collected, and very patient. That's not to say she isn't those things but after actually meeting her and getting to know her through interactions as an adult, let's just say she's rightfully the other side of the shared Hermes/Athene coin. They might both be wisdom, intelligence, cunning, and knowledge/learning, deeply affectionate and close to humans (their beloved) but subtlety? Neither has heard of it.

I say this with the utmost devotion, love, and adoration but Athene is hot-headed, very close/ever-watchful, incredibly communicative/vocal, and persistent. If she has a message for you, you will know, she will make sure you get it and that you hear her and know she's there. She looms, standing over you, steely (stern) but guiding with such love, to be caught reflected in her eyes is to know you'll have someone on your side, someone who is honest, intense, and will right you wordlessly with every failure and every path you stray.

The Owl-Eyed Goddess of Nearness always protects.

I enjoy Greek pottery, especially the pottery that is made to represent the deities.

It's a hobby to collect them for me when I'm able to and I love the feeling of dopamine I get from it when I add a new piece to the shelves that house every collectable thing that I've been able to snatch up (/lighthearted). The collection shelf itself isn't Greek pottery-exclusive and has some Egyptian and Asian style pottery, things, and statues as well that I enjoyed.

However the shelf is used as an altar of sorts for Lord Apollon and Lady Athena simultaneously, which for me makes it special when I add to it. A few of my personal fave pieces of it are specifically the statues of Lord Apollon and Lady Athena I think my mum was able to find me at some point.

I have a murray of different pottery for multiple Greek deities as well. It's not even limited to the deities I specifically and actively work with such as lord Dionysus, I have a few painted plates detailing him and I was at some point trying to give him his own shelf since my collection shelf doesn't have much space on it anymore. (Albeit I failed solely due to how easily the plates were at risk of falling and breaking from their shelf when I was rearranging my room and then forgot to put them back on it lmao.)

It's basically one of my own ways to appreciate the deities; to keep up with the shelf and collect.

I know that Lady Athena is watching over me. In the chaos of starting my new job and taking on more and more responsibilities, I see her in the support of my coworkers. Their support, their open-mind and their understanding. I am being guided and supported everyday, without judgement. And even though I don't have the spoons to thank Her with devotion every day, I am grateful every time I ask a question or go seek support.
