Pokémon of the Week! #640: Virizion!
Tumblr media
Welcome, nerds, to Pokémon of the Week!
Where I, Sesh, generate a random Pokémon to highlight each week!
Last week, we covered Doug Dimmadome...er, I mean, Galarian Weezing and his non-stinkiness. You can find that post here:
This week is special, my friends. For the first time here at Pokémon of the Week, we have a legendary Pokémon as our featured guest! Virizion, on of the 3 (or 4) Swords of Justice from the Unova Region!
Tumblr media
I am really excited to cover this amazing Pokémon! It's got come pretty metal lore behind it that I can't wait to get into!
~ORIGINS~
Virizion, a Grass and Fighting-type, debuted in 2010's Pokémon: Black & White versions for the Nintendo DS. She (I assume...she has a female voice in the anime movie she's in) appeared along with 3 other legendary Pokémon referred to as "The Swords of Justice"; Terrakion, Cobalion, and Keldeo. They all share the Fighting-type and the "Justified" ability. They also all share swordplay-based moves, such as Sacred Sword, thus justifying the name of their group.
Tumblr media
Pokemon fans have collectively decided to compare Virizion and the others Swords to the Legendary Musketeers.
Tumblr media
For those unfamiliar, the famous French novel The 3 Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas feature swashbuckling swordsman characters, fighting for justice in the cruel world of the French monarchy. Virizion and the other swords have major comparisons to the 4 main characters in this novel (a couple movie adaptations have been made, which I will use screenshots from).
Tumblr media
Of the legendary Musketeers, Virizion herself shares a resemblance to Aramis. According to Bulbapedia, Virizion is "the best at swordplay" like Aramis, is feminine, and very romantic as opposed to the others in the group.
Tumblr media
The shape of Virizion's head also shares a stark resemblance to tricorn hats worn by Musketeers of the colonial era.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As far as the animal Virizion appears to be based on, fans speculate it shares qualities of an antelope or a stag of some kind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some really cool lore, amiright???
But what do the Dex entries say about our green Sword of Justice?
Generation 5 entries about Virizion say that you might wanna look out of this thing, saying that "[t]his Pokémon fought humans in order to protect its friends."
Huh?
FOUGHT HUMANS?
I'm getting Legends: Arceus flashbacks here...and now I'm getting afraid of what a potential Legends: Kyurem game might be like.
Other entries say that it "sprouts blades" from it's head and swiftly cuts it's opponents down, and that it moves so fast it's opponents can't land a hit.
This tracks with Virizion's comparison to Aramis, supposedly the quickest and most skilled of the Musketeers.
Other Dex entries from later games are mostly the same, with the exception of Sword versions Dex entry, which states that it teamed up Cobalion and Terrakion to protect their friends from humans.
So all the Swords of Justice attacked humans that were mean to Pokemon...got it.
Jeez, evil team beware...you might get skewered by angry sword goats.
Tumblr media
~DESIGN~
Here's Virizion's official artwork:
Tumblr media
Quoted from Virizion's biology section on Bulbapedia:
"Virizion is a stag or antelope-like, quadrupedal Pokémon that is primarily green. On the sides of its head are long horns that end in dull, curled points. It has a pointed snout with a black blaze running from its nose to the back of its head. Its face, hind legs, and underside are white. There is a pinked-tipped leaf on each side of its neck, and leafy tufts on its shoulders. On its back, there are pointed tufts of fur forming a medium-long tail. Its lower legs resemble knee-high boots with pink highlights at the knees, and it has black hooves.
Like the other Swords of Justice, Virizion battled against humans in order to protect Pokémon. Virizion attacks its opponents by first darting around them with whirlwind-like speed, before using its horns to swiftly cut them down. The horns are as sharp as blades. In Generation V, Sacred Sword was its signature move.
~ADVANTAGES~
It's a LEGENDARY POKEMON. I'm always going to start with that when we get a legendary featured here on Pokémon of the Week. Not only is there only one of Virizion in each game you find it in, but all it's base states are ridiculously high.
It's best base stat is Special Defense. In fact, it has the highest special defense out of all of the Swords of Justice. Field Virizion against Pokémon that know heavy hitting special moves.
It's Grass/Fighting-typing is very rare; there aren't many Pokémon that have that type combo. Use Virizion against Water, Rock, Ground, and Dark-types. It is also highly resistant to Electric and other Grass-type.
It's base Speed, true to the lore, it also very high. If you are needing to outspeed your opponent to win a match, use Virizion. Odds are you'll win that race.
It's signature ability that is shares with the other Swords, "Justified", makes it so that if it is hit by a Dark-type attack, it's attack shoots up by 1 stage each time. That's a huge advantage over Dark-types; a deadly combo with any Fighting-types moves, like Sacred Sword, against Dark-types.
~DISADVANTAGES~
Legendary Pokémon are hard to capture and even more difficult to train once obtain...but you all know that by now (hopefully). They level up slower than normal Pokémon and are harder to befriend.
It may be fast and able to take special attacks well, but it's base Defense is it's lowest stat. If it gets hit by a hard-hitting physical move, it will go down just as fast as it can move.
DO NOT use against the deadly BIRB. Do NOT field against Flying-types. It's Grass and Fighting-type combo makes it QUADRUPLY WEAK to Flying moves.
Tumblr media
Also avoid fielding Virizion against Fire, Poison, Psychic, Ice, and and Fairy-types.
~HOW TO OBTAIN~
As our first legendary Pokémon here on PotW, I would advise you to go mass-buy some Ultra Ball and Quick Balls...
Where can Virizion be found in each of the games it appears in? Well...as cool as Virizion is...it takes some tracking down.
Make sure to hit SAVE before battling this thing...as there is only one per game, as stated above!
Let's dive in.
In it's debut games Black & White, it can be found in the very depths of the Pinwheel Forest; a place called Rumination Field. You must battle and catch it.
Tumblr media
In Black 2 & White 2, it appears later in the game on Route 11, where (in a small cutscene) it jumps off of a cliff to battle you.
Tumblr media
In X & Y, it can only be obtained by trade from another game.
In the Gen 3 remakes Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Virizion (as well as Cobalion and Terrakion) can be found post-game while soaring on the Pathless Plain. If you want Virizion, it needs to be on a Monday or a Thursday...which is...oddly specific...
Tumblr media
In Sun & Moon, it can only be obtained by trade from another game.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Virizion can potentially be found post-game in the Ultra Space Wilds on a Rocky World.
Tumblr media
Virizion is unobtainable in Let's Go! Pikachu & Let's Go! Eevee.
Originally, Virizion was yet another #dexitvictim when Sword & Shield were initially released. However, upon the release of the Crown Tundra expansion, you can find a Virizion (and the other Swords) via an event where you must track down 50 of it's footprints around the Tundra. Once you have done that, it will appear in the Giant's bed area.
Tumblr media
Virizion is unobtainable in the Gen 4 remakes Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
Virizion is unobtainable in Legends: Arceus.
~COOL VIRIZION FANART~
Does a legendary Pokemon have cool fanart?
UM YES
Not even a question.
Tumblr media
Takin' a well- deserved human-slaying break, I guess.
Tumblr media
THE 3 POKETEERS! WITH HATS!
Tumblr media
Well, ain't that a snarky grin. Channeling her inner Aramis, I suppose!
Tumblr media
stabby stabby
Tumblr media
A cool marker-esque piece; she gettin' ready to Razor Leaf ya!
~CONCLUSION~
I've always thought the Swords of Justice were cool! Though, Virizion has been my favorite...
Mostly because the others become ROAMING annoyances to capture...
Nah, her design is neat, and Aramis has always been my favorite 3 Musketeers character.
What are your thoughts on Virizion? Let me know!
Join me next week for...ANOTHER LEGENDARY! The goodest boy with the shield, Zamazenta!

Starfallification GTI edition... It's these guys....
Design/Story/Headcanon rambles below!
Virizion
Name: Aramis
Pronouns: She/It
Design Ramblings:
-Her colors are a little dull to imply a sense of melancholy. Kind of a hint that she's not exactly healthy.
-Has a battle scar on her face from one of its escapades pre-GTI
-Has a friendship necklace with Keldeo. She only starts to wear it again in the postgame.
Headcanons/Tweaks:
-Doesn't go by Aramis until far later. Insists on the more distant "Virizion" until the Great Glacier arc
-Because this is an alternate timeline where humans went extinct, the Swords of Justice never became a steady group, so there is no formal quartet. Aramis does not know her own Terrakion and Cobalion.
-She does, however, know Keldeo, of course. There was no sort of mentor/student relationship between the two, they were childhood friends and used to spar frequently. Aramis was a shy child while Keldeo was more bold, so he helped bring her out of her shell. The two had a "he talks enough for the both of us" sort of dynamic. He infodumps and it listens.
-Has always struggled with deep self esteem issues, as she doesn't feel she's particularly likable.
-It actually did know about Keldeo's entercard capabilities, which was how it recognized Umbreon and Espeon as entercard users back in the day. It was very disturbed to see Keldeo's entercard markings in the Great Glacier.
-Didn't expect to find Noodle and Parker as enjoying as they were. She honestly expected to see Parker as a pest. But she found them more and more endearing as time went on and eventually sought out their company on her own very consistently. She’s in a QPR with them.
-She's very expressionless and aloof, which leads Pokemon to assume that she has no real feelings, especially as she rejects all of them. She was like this even before Keldeo sent the letter, but it got worse afterwards, of course. She's very blunt and honest as well, not seeing the point in sugarcoating anything. Because of this, she gets along well with Espeon.
-Feels the most conflicted about their child, as its worried that they will resent her for being aloof and avoid her. Or that they would see her for "what she truly was". But their child loves and looks up to her a ton, which does make her feel better.
Emolga
Name: Parker (Insists on Emolga)
Pronouns: He/It
Design Notes:
-So when I was younger, I always figured that Emolga kinda presented himself as a superhero? Because he swoops in to save Dunsparce in Stompstump Peak, he always sticks up for the little guy, and he's very vain and outspoken. The wings also lended well to that, since they look like a cape. So I wanted to lean into that!
-He's mixed with both Theivul (for the mask, tail, and extra brown color) and Boltund (for the wavy fur and eyes).
Story/Headcanons:
-When Parker was younger, it was abandoned by its parents, and no one was willing to take the orphan in, so he had to steal food to survive.
-It was every Pokemon for itself, so Parker never grew close to other Pokemon. Due to his small size and power, he was usually harassed for what little items he had, so he never trusted anyone.
-When he was a teenager, however, he ran into Noodle. The little snake was being bullied for their money by another group of Pokemon, and was frantically trying to empty his pockets. Emolga typically would have just ignored it to save his own skin... but watching the Pokemon mock Dunsparce and berate him for not having more food, and the sheer desperation and tears in the snake's face, something in him snapped, and he swooped in to defend the Dunsparce, fighting off the Pokemon. He intended to leave soon after, but Noodle insisted on taking care of his wounds and giving the Emolga a place to stay. After that, he and Noodle were best friends.
-Parker stopped stealing after that incident- it didn't want to stay in that lifestyle anymore after seeing how honest Noodle was. Unfortunately, this meant going hungry, so he would often go into Mystery Dungeons to get supplies for them- eventually becoming a stronger fighter for it. This inspired Noodle to want to be a treasure hunter themself, although they got lost very easily- Parker would have to look for them more often than not. Not that he didn't take pride in that... he let that ego go to his head. He loved providing for the smaller Pokemon, sure, but he also craved the notoriety.
-Holds a grudge very easily. You call him a rat and he will remember that decades down the line. He finds it hard to forgive
-Despite his size, he knows how to impose himself. Its got a naturally loud voice and he usually perches himself on high ledges so he stands over people.
-He has a massive heart, though. He adores his partners and will lay himself on the line for them. He also fawns over their child a lot.
-Was the closest to Eris out of the gang for a while, besides Kiran. It taught Eris how to handle his electricity and take care of his new body properly.
Dunsparce
Name: Noodle
Pronouns: They/He
Design Notes:
-Wears a reunion cape given to them by Kiran so they don't get lost as often!
Headcanon/Story notes:
-Was always picked on for being a weaker Pokemon. Because of this, they were rather withdrawn from others, and never put up a fight against larger Pokemon- they just didn't want any trouble.
-Took Parker into their home once he saved them from a group of Pokemon that was harassing them, and the two became fast friends. Parker jokingly called them a "noodle" because of how wobbly they'd get when they were scared, and the name stuck.
-Parker inspired them to want to become an explorer... but unfortunately, they never had the strength for it. He would go into dungeons on his own, and Parker would have to swoop in and save him.
-At first, they admired Aramis for its strength, and thought that if they could only become stronger, they would be liked as well as she was. But when they both joined Paradise, they broke her walls down, and saw her for who she truly was- warts and all. And they appreciated her more and more every day for it.
-Actually fell into a more strategizing/organizer role as the events of the game went on. They came into their own as a fighter and explorer and can hold their own in a fight now, but ended up finding a lot of comfort in taking care of others.
-It was their idea to adopt their kid. The trio had found the egg in a dungeon and Noodle pushed and pushed to raise the child as their own.

The Princess and the Swords (Fantasy AU)
The three deities of justice, also known as the Swords of Justice due to their prowess in combat, swore to protect the royal family until the coming of their hero, the one who is meant to bring equality and fair treatment for all the people and pokémon in the kingdom. Athos (Cobalion), Porthos (Terrakion) and Aramis (Virizion) (all at @/justicesworn) have stood by the royalty and nobility for generations, posing as members of the Royal Guard and lending their strength to the kingdom against their enemies. D’Artagnan (Keldeo) joined their ranks much later but, as a royal guard in training, he still became sworn to the same duties. Seeing how twisted and self-interested many royals and nobles have become has left all four of them displeased but they have determinately stuck to their posts in the hopes of a better time.
Once the Swords recognized Rosa as the Hero of Justice, they bestowed upon her their blessing and their protection. Athos is her main patron and, based on @/mirroredranger‘s magic system, his typing plays a role in her skills. The steel and fighting combination lends itself perfectly to sword fighting and the magic that Rosa is able to cast serves as a buff to strengthen her swings and attacks. Athos has also been training her in the art of the sword since she was old enough to actually hold one so she’s fairly talented in combat…  She just doesn’t seem that intimidating at first glance because her smaller frame and softer features don’t exactly scream ‘warrior’.

-- Folklore With Merlin: The Musketeers of Kalos
Tumblr media
'The Musketeers of Kalos... Now that's a story I haven't told or heard an iteration of in a while!' The fox laughs.
'Where to begin? Well, for one, the pokemon that are 'famous' as the Swords of Justice didn't actually get their origins here, but rather, in Kalos. They were known as protectors of the pokemon realm and didn't approve of trainerkind. It was only through a chance encounter with three young noble souls that the three heroes would be swayed to try and understand trainerkind. Seeing them protect not just trainerkind, but pokemon as well, the three of Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, chose to pair alongside the three -- Cobalion for Athos. Terrakion for Porthos. Virizion for Aramis. Thus began a lifelong friendship and eventually the tutelage of a boy named D'Aratangan who befriended the pokemon Keldeo.'
'Known for their noble deeds to trainerkind and pokemon and serving their country and city well, eventually the heroes they chose would pass on, but their ideals that they learned were left with the four pokemon to carry on, and thus the Swords of Justice disappeared to the four winds, but it's said that from time to time, noble souls in groups of four will be born and that they will become the bonded of the legendary Swords of Justice. So far as I know, that hasn't happened in my lifetime, but i wouldn't be surprised if someday it didn't. We all could use noble heroes in these trying times in my opinion...'

The Swords of Justice
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now it’s time for the regional Legendary Trio, and this time we’ve got a group of ungulates based on the Three Musketeers, surprisingly. Huh. I’ve never been a big fan of either this group or the source material but I guess they get some credit for being a peculiar combination of ideas.
Cobalion is a Steel/Fighting type, likely based around the character of Athos, the leader of the musketeers, since it’s also the leader and eldest member of the Swords of Justice. I’m not sure where exactly the Steel type comes in other than reflecting the original’s use of swords. The design’s not all that bad, I like the combination of an old dude and goat/deer it’s got going on, and the overall blue color is nice. It just never really struck me as a legendary though, for as subjective as that statement is. Cobalion (and the rest of the Swords) always kinda felt like beefier, non-evolving Pokemon you’d find in later game routes, like Tropius actually.
Score: 3.5/5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Terrakion is a Rock/Fighting type, based upon the character Porthos, who is also the heaviest, though strongest of the group. Terrakion does at least reflect its type somewhat. It’s got a more craggy appearance with some shards jutting off here and there. The big downward-facing horns are nice too, and alongside its bulkier body give Terrakion a resemblance to a bighorn sheep, which is charming. It’s also got the most manlike face, which actually does make it feel somewhat like a mythical creature. Like a manticore or something. Guess it’s my favorite based on that.
Score: 4/5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Virizion’s type is Grass/Fighting, and it resembles Aramis, who’s said to be the vain romantic of the group. Virizion fits that basic description well, being the more dainty and feminine looking one. I’d like if maybe it had a blooming rose sprouting from that neck-leaf though, just to play up the theatrical drama character I presume good ol’ Aramis has. Virizion is okay, though my least favorite of the three. Not bad, just not a big hitter.
Score: 3/5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUT, things don’t stop there because there’s actually a fourth member to this group, based around the character of d’Artagnan. Like its inspiration, Keldeo is characterized as the newest addition to the Swords of Justice with a lot to prove, out of place and inexperienced among its fellow well-known crusaders. Unfortunately for Keldeo, this means it’s also treated with a lot more mystique, and was relegated to event-only exclusivity in its home generation.
Tumblr media
That, alongside with Keldeo’s apparent need for an alternate, powered-up form that actually does nothing mechanically is what really tanks my potential enjoyment of it, for however minor that would’ve been. Keldeo feels like some over-advertised toy to me, some keystone to a collector’s item that makes the group it's apart of ACTUALLY complete. Keldeo’s thin, skin-tone body and overly-fluffy hair and tail just kinda get to me in some way I can’t describe.
Being perfectly honest it may be because it reminds me too much of plastic My Little Pony dolls with the brushable hair. Something about those things always bugged me, the hair specifically. Not even based on touch or feel, just looking at them. This is a tangent I won’t go further into but it’s just some weird personal thing that make Keldeo unpleasant to me. That and the way it’s sectioned off from the other Swords as some extra special event-exclusive accessory. I guess from a more objective stance that doesn’t really impact its design, but this is MY blog and I get to rank the Pokemon HOWEVER I WANT.
Apparently d'Artagnan is usually portrayed with an iconic feathered hat, which I will admit normal-form Keldeo does an alright job of portraying with its mane. I felt it was at least worth mentioning.
Score: 1/5
Tumblr media
But if you like Keldeo fine that’s okay, I guess I can see where that comes from. It’s a cutesy pony-horse, people tend to love those.

So from spending so much time in working on creating an artificial Pokemon and failing (the brainstorming took me two weeks), I decided to take a break and observe some of my newer caught Pokemon when they’re not doing tasks.
Speeds has a bit of an ego, and thinks he’s the fastest, but was unable to beat Spooks and Anubis in a race. He then spent time brooding and roosting a ways away from the camp, clearly hurt until Sean gave him a small talk. He now walks around, looking at everyone else as if keeping an eye on them, as if they’re part of his flock. I don’t know what Sean said to him, but it clearly left an impact. He’s a prideful bird.
Spooks is very curious, and keeps trying to touch everything that’s in his reach, I had to put many things on guard as Spooks being a ghost, it’s difficult to keep a hold of him, so the more delicate and dangerous items have one guard on duty while I’m working.
Striker and Fatal spend their time studying each other’s strikes, Gregory often joins in on these study sessions. It seems that despite them being entirely different Urshifu’s with different strike forms, they still believe in learning from each other, even teaching Gregory how to do their strikes. That is a true warrior right there.
Porthos, Aramis and Athos often stay out of the way, keeping to themselves or training their swords. D’Artagnan has warmed up to everyone else, but it’ll be a while for the other Swords of Justice, especially Athos. All in due time though.

Doodledex - #640 Virizion
And now we come to the fastest of the Swords of Justice, Virizion! (Well, in terms of lore, anyways. All the Swords have the same base Speed.) With its graceful, whirlwind-like movements, it confuses its opponents while it slashes at them with the sharp horns on its head!
....Actually, I think that bit about the “sharp horns” refers to something all of the members of this group can do. I’d previously mentioned this in Cobalion’s tags, but since these guys don’t exactly have arms they’re capable of generating “energy blades” from their foreheads! (The anime even has them doing the “one for all salute” with them!)

Note
Okay after thinking on it we actually can't blame Game Freak for Virizion being a girl in Mystery Dungeon, that's 100% Spike Chunsoft's fault. Virizion being more feminine looking out of the Swords of Justice is because he's based on Aramis, who, of the Three Musketeers, was a feminine, flamboyant ladies' man. The other Swords' designs are also meant to convey which Musketeer they're based on, thus it's honestly safe to say they're all guys and Spike Chunsoft were just cowards when they made Virizion a girl because that's not the actual intent of the design.
YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE and even explains team charm. They make all the big scary pokemon men like dialga and darkrai but the little delicate pink ones like mesprit and shiny celebi girls. The only example I can think of making a pink pokemon male is wigglytuff but the localization team made said "her" for him in super mystery dungeon anyway... I haven't played the Japanese versions of any of the games but I'll take a guess and say they don't use gendered pronouns for the pokemon and the localization team had to make it up as they go, since you can go without using pronouns in Japanese to begin with

All for one, and god damn this trade-in policy is terrible. 10% store credit my ass.
And continuing the fambly, here's Aramis. He's a very showy sort of man and a bit stubborn at times, but generally a nice guy (the genuine kind, not the "nice guy" trope). If you're on the wrong side of justice, however, he won't hesitate to cut you up if necessary. He'd hate doing it, but he still would do it.

Let’s Talk About Pokemon - The Musketeer Trio
Tumblr media Tumblr media
638: Cobalion
Tumblr media
It's once again time to hit a huge brick wall of Legendary Pokemon. And as usual, it's a real mixed bag for me. It’s such a shame knowing Gen 5, after showing off LOADS of fun and creative designs, one winner after another with only the occasional faltering like Beartic or Bouffalant is gonna be capped off with some of the most boring Legendaries in the entire series.
Starting with Cobalion, one of the three “Musketeer Trio,” three heroic Pokemon that rescue Pokemon in danger but just as quickly disappear ever so mysteriously. Cobalion meant to evoke Athos, the leader of the bunch. I, however, don't know him well.
I dunno. Nothing about Cobalion's design is particularly striking. It certainly looks heroic, but that's about it. More than anything it just looks like someone turned Juan from Emerald into a goat? It does have some neat details to make it look like it's wearing a coat, but that detail is dragged down by those legs. Yeah, I get it, these three have the overall motif of looking like they're all wearing boots, but. Cobalion's are the most haphazardly drawn and I don't really like em.
Tumblr media
Personal Score: 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Eh. Could've tried harder.
Tumblr media
639: Terrakion
Tumblr media
The Pokemon to parallel Parthos, the biggest and physically strongest of the musketeers, is... meh. Again, not a lot going on. Yeah, it's pulled off the boot look better but. There's nothing else going on with it. It just looks like a particularly earthy looking ox. No suit motif or anything.
I just feel like Terrakion sheer boringness highlights the worst I see in certain Legendaries in general in that they’re Pokemon that totally could’ve passed as normal ones with nothing special to them, but then their sense of scale gets inflated because they have the label of Legendary put onto them. And what tends to happen with Legendary Pokemon is that they’re only themed so much, compared to normal Pokemon which can be thoroughly themed and given a strong aesthetic. The Musketeer thing feels like they designed some cool ruminantia that ended up stumbling into the Musketeer aesthetic by accident rather than being designed from the ground-up that they were going to be Poke-Musketeers. Not that there’s anything wrong there, but you can tell how the Musketeer thing is only realized a little bit. Especially given how little these things have to communicate that they’re sword-wielding heroes!
Tumblr media
Personal Score: 5/10
Tumblr media
ANYWAY nah, nothing to pop out at me here.
Tumblr media
640: Virizion
Tumblr media
And here we have Aramis, the fanciest of the group with lots of swordplay tricks. I'd say Virizion kinda saves the day here. While the other two aren't fantastic, the third is easily the least visually cluttered and probably has the best conveyance of theme out of the three. Those “horns” are kinda odd, and again aren’t selling the sword hero look, but they give off a nice silhouette at least. While it's not the craziest Legendary out there, I do like Virizion quite a bit for just being a cool and pretty deer thing, if nothing else. I at least get a rather original (compared to the other two) vibe that this thing is a flamboyant self-important pretty boy hero. Even if the Musketeer thing still seems really secondary.

Personal Score: 8.5/10

Finally, a worthy opponent.
Overall:
Like the birds and beasts, the Musketeer trio’s a couple of forgettable monsters plus one considerably nicer one. But still not the best Pokemon overall.

Shinies that I’ve been resetting for for the past few days
Cian, Latios. Actually did not take as long as I expected. NEW DRAGON FOR TEAM SHIMMERSCALE!
Aramis, Virizion. Among the Swords of Justice, I like their shiny form the most. When I found them, I knew I have to reset for one. Little did I know it will take me a day to find one. Still worth it.
Vaalbara, Groudon. After Aramis, I feared Groudon would take as long. It didn’t. I don’t like green shinies that much but Vaalbara’s growing on me. Primal Groudon though. Shiny form’s awesome.
Kronos, Dialga. AAAAAAAAHHHHHH SHINY DIALGA!!!!! I think I wanted a shiny Dialga ever since I was on my shiny breeding period on Omega Ruby. I did not think about shiny resetting for legendaries until I was aiming for Giratina BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE SHINY DIALGA’S HERE ANOTHER NEW DRAGON FOR TEAM SHIMMERSCALE
Besides them, I found five more shinies through Ultra Warp Ride, although I’m not sure if I’m ever gonna use any of them. Shiny Heliolisk is good, though.
