I loved your fic The False and the Fair. While I was reading it, I thought, this is so good, the author should rework this into an actual novel, then in the endnotes you mentioned that you were planning on using elements of it to write a novel. I would love to read it if you do, though I don't know how I would find out about it. Would you announce it on your Tumblr if you did? I would definitely buy it if you manage to publish it. Thank you for writing it.
Thank you so much for such a lovely ask! Yes, I am working on a novel that is (sort of) based on TF&TF, but I’ve been working slowly in part because I the fic is so special to me and, if I did publish an original novel, I’d want to do it in such a way that I can keep the fic up on AO3 and also let the tumblr crowd know about the novel. I am also working on a few other unrelated original fiction projects that are higher on my priority list right now (partially because I am a much more enthusiastic writer than editor haha).
So yes, I suppose in the hypothetical distant future when the novel is finished, I would likely make a post here so that y’all could check it out. But I’m not rushing into that future any time soon!
One of the reasons I wrote TF&TF was because I hadn’t read much published queer fiction that dealt with themes that have been meaningful in my own life (especially: telling a happy story that involves HIV, telling a story where being queer in a rural area isn’t reduced to homophobia and hate crimes). I am so happy that fandom has provided a way for me to share this with the world! ❤️
If you want to read The False and the Fair check it out here! (It’s archive locked so you do have to log in to read it).

Nonna Gaylene Walks the Floor (A Susie and Nonna Story.)
I rolled out of bed this morning, clumsy as a cow. Usually, I hurt only where the pleurisy is, but now I ache all over, like someone has beaten me with a board.             This is all Susie’s fault. After she told me how much money I could make at the flea market, I walked the floor all night and fell into a fitful sleep around four, only to awaken two hours later to shut off the…

“We’re using machine learning for all the wrong things, as I write about extensively in Ways of Being: to make things that beat us at games, deplete the planets resources more efficiently, confuse images and art, and so on and on. What we need are intelligences that help us do useful things in new and better ways, ways which we could not have imagined alone. AIs which are colleagues and collaborators, rather than slaves and masters.
Here’s one idea: an optimisation engine for woodworking: an AI Carpenter – except that the human is the carpenter, AI is the planner / assistant. (Gepetto? Jiminy Crickett? Kricket, like in Douglas Adams. They could have carved a Wicket and Bails.)
Given the dimensions of some wood – or even of a tree – but preferably a bunch of surplus or recycled wood, whatever materials and shapes and planes you have lying around, and a sketch of the desired structure, the machine outputs a complete guide/spec for building.
Where it gets interesting is when you see it doing some of the deeply weird stuff AI is really good at, optimising for strength and structure no human would conceive of, like (via):”

Random, but on the topic of fantasy and food, one set of fantasy stories that I specifically remember made me very hungry was the Silver John stories by Manly Wade Wellman (what a name). They're a series of stories and novels about a ex-Korean vet with a silver-stringed guitar wandering around the post-WWII Appalachian mountains and facing down folklore/supernatural foes, and I don't even really like pork, but I remember reading some of the food descriptions in those stories and get really damn hungry. There was, for example, one very loving description of the main character making corn pone on a hot rock over his campfire, and I was like, yes, yes, magic music and devils, sure, but can I have some of your food?
Which ... might be a bad thing, when I think about it, in that I was too focused on my stomach to focus on the plot, but the stories sure made a very vivid description of setting and place and food. That I really, really wanted to try. Heh.

I’ll let y’all vote on this one
I’ll still probably post about mphfpc sometimes, but not going to focus on it. I still really like the books.

What is The Blood of Saints?
So, if you're here, on this page, then you have probably heard about the story I've been working on. Hello! I appreciate your company. I realize that perhaps I should give some sort of a synopsis of this story, and what it means to me as the author.
So... what is The Blood of Saints?
It is a passion project, above all else! I really have no desire to publish it in a professional setting, or seek out financial gain from it. It is, quite literally, just for funsies.
It is also a means of exploration for myself. An exploration of religion, guilt, trauma, loneliness, and sexual liberation. The setting is no accident, either, it was not random. Setting this story in rural Tennessee in the early 1980's was deliberate. While there may be some of the classic elements of horror and suspense in a vampire story, the real horror comes from the regional conflict between Catholicism and Protestantism (particularly, Evangelical Fundamentalism).
My father is a lapsed Catholic from Northern Pennsylvania, my mother a former Christian of the Church of Christ, from Tennessee. I was born and raised in Tennessee, and they both made the decision early on to raise me without any religious affiliation, because all of the churches they attended in the area as a means of testing the waters conflicted directly with their morals.
To put bluntly, they were all a bit horrifying and cultish. This was, of course, the rural American south, post-9/11.
Unfortunately, due to some lingering prejudices, my mother told my father directly that I would not be raised Catholic.
All of these factors led to a very interesting upbringing, a focus more on doing good and being kind just for the sake of it rather than out of fear of my eternal salvation. It also led to some pretty relentless bullying and an intense feeling of isolation that lasted all my life. Couple that with being trans and queer and knowing that I was different in some way, but being unable to place just how I was different, and you've got... a bit of a neurotic mess.
A lot has happened in the last two and a half decades for me to be here, but I ultimately wouldn't change it for the world.
What else inspired this story?
Glad you asked! Besides my kind of weird agnostic upbringing in the deep south Bible Belt, it was, admittedly, inspired by a lot of the media I consume. I've been fascinated by vampires since I was a kid. But it should come as no surprise that Midnight Mass was the biggest catalyst in me even starting this story. The way it delved into religion, loss, love, and evangelism spoke to me. As I said, I've always been agnostic, but make no mistake, I am actually pretty religious. But... just sort of in my own way.
Another piece of media which spoke to me was Wise Blood, both the book by Flannery O'Connor and the movie directed by John Huston. The tone is almost absurdist, and the setting threw me right back into my small town where I grew up, where nothing at all seems to have modernized.
The Exorcist and The Exorcist III were also inspiration for me, the first for the horror elements and the questioning of faith, and the second for its strange and Lynchian tone and imagery.
In terms of music, I was inspired particularly by artists such as K. D. Lang, Nick Cave, Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, Townes Van Zandt, and Colter Wall.
What else is there, besides religion and vampires? Are there any other horrors?
Possibly. I'll be honest, I'm sort of making this up as I go, but there may be more to everything than vampires and priests and preachers and love and folk music. The Appalachians are an ancient and strange place. Who's to say?
How does it end?
With love. But you'll just have to find out the rest for yourself!

from “Life, Death, and Thirst in Hogwaller” by Rebekah Morgan
Sometimes people drown in this river and sometimes people find bashed up bloated blue bodies along this river and blame it on gang violence. Sometimes I swim naked in this river and I don’t care who sees. The river doesn’t care either. The Rivanna River used to be named The River Anne, it’s always churning and it’s always changing. Sometimes it floods and people cry about their cars. I flick my cigarette into the river and it disappears.  I like how I die slowly because it feels more tragic.
I look at Kathy Ann and I think about all the dumb men around here.  Kathy Ann says “all change is short change.” I feel dumb and blind and I feel ugly. I watch life fly by like it’s goodbye forever. I feel lonelier than ever sitting on the river bank with Kathy Ann. I wonder if she likes Thai food. I wonder if her bedspread is from Walmart and if it’s neon-colored with black skulls on it. I think about how bad I wanted to be Neil Young when I was little. It’s not easy to be alive and it’s not easy to say good-bye.

It has occurred to me that my hc of Wayne calling Eddie “darlin’” (which I have used in all my fics where Wayne is present) may be my greatest contribution to the ST fandom, and I’m overjoyed to see other creators running with what I started. 😭💖💖💖
