Anonymous: Hii! I've been binge-reading all of your stuff and wondered how you'd think RE8 characters would react to lovable idiot reader saying/doing something actually smart for once?

Hehe, just kidding. Anyway, thanks for reading my stuff :) I love this idea! Let’s get into it!

Alcina:

Alcina lounges in her armchair near the fire, a hint of boredom in her eyes as she awaits your company. As silly as you can be, she adores you and hates whenever you two are apart. Thankfully, you finally stroll in. You do have a bit of a mischievous glint in your eyes, though.

“Draga, have you managed to stay out of trouble today?” She inquires, arching an elegant eyebrow.

“Actually, Alci, I’ve been doing some research on the local plants around the castle grounds!” You tell her and go over to give her a kiss. “I know you’re always achy because of the cadou, but apparently a lot of these herbs can help!”

She tilts her head, genuinely intrigued and touched by your thoughtfulness. “Oh? Well, why don’t you tell me more, draga?” She says, picking you up and settling you on her lap to cuddle.

You show her all of your research and Alcina’s eyes widen in surprise.

She feels a little guilty for underestimating your intelligence, but to be fair, you’re not exactly a brainiac. She shakes her head violently as she tries to stop remembering all of the dumb things you’ve done in the past and leans in, planting a soft kiss on your forehead. “Perhaps there’s even more to you than meets the eye, draga.”

Donna:

You’re hanging out with Donna in her workshop when you manage to stumble upon a rare moment of intelligence.

As you examine one of the dolls, you point out a hidden feature Donna has added to its craftsmanship – A small inlay of the Beneviento crest on the back of its neck. It’s something no one else should have been able to notice.

Donna raises an eyebrow, her usually brooding face holding genuine surprise. “You know, tesoro, most people are too terrified to notice the details,” She giggles in her soft voice.

You grin, feeling a surge of confidence. “Well, I’m not most people, babe. I’ve got an eye for the subtle intricacies of your art!”

Donna tilts her head, considering your words (And blushing wildly). It’s a rare occasion for someone to appreciate her work in such a manner, let alone someone as seemingly clueless as yourself.

“You’ve surprised me, cara mia. Perhaps there is a brain in that head of yours after all,” She teases, her tone a mix of amusement and genuine curiosity.

You feign offense but chuckle, reveling in the fact that you managed to impress the mysterious doll maker. “You bring out the best in me, babe,” You shrug.

Miranda:

You stand before Miranda, trying to suppress your usual goofy grin. You’ve just had a surprising burst of intellect and want to share an idea with your lover.

“Listen to this, Miranda,” You begin, your eyes gleaming. “I’ve been thinking about the village’s resources, and I believe we should start distribution to other nearby settlements to build a stronger economy.”

Miranda blinks rapidly for a few moments, trying to figure out where you learned those words, before speaking. “Well, well,” She muses, her voice carrying a hint of amusement. “Did you borrow some wisdom from the local livestock today, my dear? Or did you accidentally stumble upon a hidden cache of brain cells?”

You chuckle nervously, aware of your usual reputation for dumbassery. “Maybe I’ve been hiding my genius all along, just to keep you on your toes!”

Miranda raises an eyebrow, a smirk forming on her lips. “Ah, a mastermind hiding behind the facade of a lovable fool. How intriguing. You’re perfect for me,” She says, nuzzling her nose against yours affectionately.

“I’m no fool! I’m stupid! There’s a difference, babe!” You argue.

Miranda playfully rolls her eyes. “Alright, draga mea. Whatever you say.”

Bela:

You and Bela are cuddling on her bed when you suddenly blurt out something you’ve learned recently (A rare feat).

“Babe, I’ve been researching the architecture of the castle and found out a lot about the Dimitrescu family’s history!”

Bela’s eyes widen comically as she takes in what you just said. She looks at you in disbelief before giggling. “You? Researching? Surely you jest, little one.”

You chuckle, realizing the irony of the situation. “No joke, babe! Turns out I can be smart when I put my mind to it.”

Bela crosses her arms, a sly smirk forming on her lips. “Well, I must say I’m surprised. Tell me more.”

As you continue to share your newfound knowledge, Bela can’t help but be amused by the unexpected display of intelligence from her usually endearing, if not a tad foolish, partner. It seems that beneath your playful exterior, there is a hidden depth waiting to be discovered.

Cassandra:

You find yourself standing in the armory with Cass, surrounded by her impressive collection of weapons. As she inspects a particularly wicked-looking dagger, you decide to seize the moment.

In an attempt to impress Cass, you confidently start spouting off some surprisingly detailed information about the knife’s craftsmanship.

Cass’s mouth hangs open, clearly not expecting such knowledge to come from your lips.

You shrug with a mischievous grin, “I may have a hidden appreciation for sharp things too.”

Cass chuckles, clearly enjoying the unexpected turn of events. She puts the dagger down and playfully pinches your cheeks. “Perhaps I’ve been underestimating my favorite little dummy.”

Your eyes light up at her words. “Does this mean you’ll let me play with that big ass claymore you always talk about?!”

Cass smirks, her eyes glinting. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, darling. I’m just saying that I suppose even an idiot can surprise me every now and then.”

With that, you find yourself drawn into a delightful conversation about the intricacies of each blade. You even end up earning a few kisses from your girl. Nice work, stupid.

Daniela:

While Dani is certainly fun-loving and lighthearted, few know just how much of a bookworm she is. She loves to learn and reads constantly.

You have definitely picked up on this, though. You want to surprise her with some of the things you’ve found out about her favorite authors.

Dani is currently curled up on her bed (Reading of course), And you stroll in with unbridled confidence. You take a look at the book she’s reading, Carmilla, and decide to show off a bit. “Hard to believe that book was written before Dracula. Le Fanu must have really inspired Stoker,” You remark.

Dani’s eyes shoot wide open and the excited smile on her face is precious. “You like Carmilla?!” She squeals.

You scratch the back of your head. To be honest, that’s kind of all you learned about the book, but you don’t want to seem like too big of an idiot. “Well, I-”

“Come read with me!” Dani says and pulls you onto her bed before resting on your chest.

You hold her happily as she reads to you and inwardly pat yourself on the back. You just scored some serious snuggle time with your favorite person.

HI ONE PERSON SAID YES (THANK YOU @sorribu) SO NOW YOU GET TO WATCH ME RANT ABOUT THE COOLEST KIND OF ANIMATION EVER

(Not my gifs, I just looked them up. Idk how to make gifs)

So in different scenes, especially in the endings of every episode of the first season, like during the credits, you probably noticed that the way the art style looks changes. It gets streaky and kind of blurred and textured and it kind of looks like paint.

Well guess what. It IS paint. Actual real paint.

The technique is called paint-on-glass animation, and it’s a really rare kind of animation. Like you NEVER see it it's so rare.

To make paint-on-glass animations, you need to take a slow drying kind of paint, (most people use oil or gouache), apply it to a smooth surface like glass or a whiteboard, and move it around into the different scenes before it dries.

It SOUNDS easy but it absolutely is not. The reason that it’s so rare is that it’s super labor intensive and difficult to do. I've tried to use it maybe twice and it’s genuinely so frustrating and hard. You have to get every try perfect because it’s so hard to reverse the work you’ve already done, and you’re constantly in a race against time. Even though they paint the animators use is slow drying, painting even one slide is so time consuming that it dries anyways.

The paint can’t be too wet or it’ll smear and blend too much, and it can’t be too dry for obvious reasons. Paint-on-glass animation is HARD and I’m so in awe of anyone who can do it well.

Mob Psycho doesn't just have it as a one-off thing, they use it MULTIPLE times, and the ending scenes with it are about 90 minutes. That's HOURS of intensive, detailed work. You can tell exactly how much love and dedication went into this show.

Oh and from what I've read, all of the paint-on-glass animation they used in Mob Psycho was done by a woman named Miyo Sato. ONE PERSON. ONE PERSON DID ALL OF THAT. ARE YOU JOKING? THATS INCREDIBLE.

When I say she was painting each scene on a glass frame by herself and she actively had to physically move everyone and everything in the scenes around I'm not joking. That is serious dedication and love and I love this show and all of the animators so much you don't understand.

OH AND DID I MENTION THAT SHE HAD TO ANIMATE MOB AND REIGEN WALKING MULTIPLE TIMES? BECAUSE SHE DID. Do you know how hard it is to make that look right in NORMAL animation? SO HARD. MIYO SATO I LOVE YOU YOURE SO IMPRESSIVE.

Heyyy I’m here to bother youuuuuuh😊

Anyway, I don’t know if you’ve seen the ask yet about certain characters ages and {Reader} calling them old and stuff, but if you do that request I would like to add smth and reacting to their ages, I would recommend reading that one first then this one

Basically when the readers like “You’re still gon’ be here even when I die” and then they just smile and joke about it- just go check out the request I sent lol-

But what if {Reader} figured out some of the characters were ‘puppets’ and they were like “Why are you being a coward? Just show your true self!”

Because wanderer is like a puppet right? But I don’t know if it’s the same situation as EI

Also another scenario where some of the characters try to pick up {Reader} and they just can’t (magic mfs)

But reader can easily like lift up ZHONGLI- Or maybe to some sassy characters liek Wanderer(if he’s sassy idk) or like Tighnari (same goes for him, idrk)

And another thing, {Reader} would ABSOLUTELY judge the crap outta some all the characters clothing choices- especially the ones that fight

So they’ll like go up to Itto and be like “Where’s the rest of your shirt?” And if he says something egotistical/ or compliments himself (If that’s what his character is even like💀 If not just choose another character I guess) and {Reader} would respond with “Yeah well you ego seems way bigger than your build”

Or for like EI they would be like “Why doesn’t the kimono cover the some of your chest?” Or for Xiao they would be like “Do you even have a shirt on or is it see through-“ and for Zhongli it would be “How can you even fight in a suit? It looks so tight and uncomfortable, and what’s the point of the bottom part of your suit being shredded? (The part where his suit splits into parts at the end) and basically every other character who fights yet their outfits are completely unpractical

And {Reader} wears like very baggy clothing and Japanese sandals

And also how they fight is instead of using powers- they just hella skilled with like martial arts, like they’ll just swipe some characters off their feet, and like elbow some in the stomach😭 and like instead of teleporting they’re just so fast and they jump off trees like a crazy lil shit-

And this is also really random, but imagine the characters are playing hide-n-seek with {Reader} and no one could find them until EI looks up and SOMEHOW {READER} MANAGED TO CLING TO THE CEILING (IN LIKE A SPIDERMAN POSITION TOO-) AND THEYRE JUST LIKE- “You guys suck at Hide-n-seek”

Anyway if you could combine this request with the other one where it talks more about certain characters ages and like how reader reacted to it and stuff, taht would be greatttttt🙃🙃🙃

okay let's break this down. 🍉 Anon, I love your enthusiasm but please calm down a bit, one idea at a time.

You become a fashion critic to them. I love the character designs but jesus christ , some of them are so impractical. You offer them advice on how to make their outfits more practical and whether or not they listen to you is not your problem. Your constantly begging Itto to put on a shirt. You're just confused by the whole boob sword open chest kimono thing with Ei.

They're all very proud of your skills. And while some think someone your age shouldn't need to learn this. They accept it and deal with it in their own way. Some are absolutely terrified of you. Some just think you need training and others genuinely question how you got this strong.

Ei would try and dismiss your concerns over her "true self". As time goes on if she ever decides to leave the plane of Euthymia one of the first things she'll do is look for you. Wanderer will scoff and tell you this is his true self. Then you would probably throw a few jokes. His way and your petty fighting will start all over again.

Zhongli and Tighnari are impressed by the fact that you managed to left them while no one could lift you. When lifting Wanderer... You essentially become his personal carry person until someone scolds him and takes him away from you.

In hide-and-seek no matter who you're playing with. Everyone gets really nervous when they can't find you. They check in all the typical spots. And then they find you up a tree or something. Some of the characters freak out because my precious baby is in a tree and others. Just questioned how you got up there in the first.

Hello!

First things first, I’m in love with your art style, especially your death note au is so creative, it’s great how you managed to expand the borders of these characters and make them more humane while also not making them feel like strangers, it’s hard to find people who can do that in fandoms :)

I know you are a bit self conscious about drawing Near, but if I can ask and if you are comfortable answering, how do you imagine his relationship with Mello? How did it shape the both of them? Do you have any headcanons?

If I were to imagine them in your au, which has a bit of a lighter tone than canon death note, I’d imagine that a small part of the reason why Mello dislikes Near so much (aside from Wammy’s toxic competition and his own inferiority complex) is for a petty reason, like a misunderstanding of first impression, their first interaction something along the lines of:

Mello: wow, imagine being so stupid to pick a literal english word as an alias in a British school, so much for being a genius, you sure you’re in the right place?

Near: that’s an interesting assessment coming from someone whose alias is both misspelled and clearly contradictory (you know, mellow-mello), however your criticism is noted.

The both of them have a very different interpretation of the memory, Mello insists that Near was already throwing down the gauntlet because he had already recognised Mello as a threat to his diabolical plan to take over wammy’s and becoming the best student (his actual narrative is less dramatic but much more complicated and contorted, but that’s how Matt summarises the story) while Near was just happy that he managed to speak to someone on his first days but didn’t think much of it after that. And the rest is history.

That 100% happened. What a wonderfully petty start to a completely dysfunctional rivalry. Thank you so much for the inspiration, I absolutely love it <3 I think most of the rivalry between the two (though it's clearly one-sided) comes from dramatic miscommunication between them. Especially in his early days at Wammy's, Mello is seeing everyone as a threat and treats everyone with hostility, because that's what he knows from home. Near mirrors that behaviour, despite having no ill intentions, and they just keep spiraling into a seemingly never ending circle of misunderstandings. I think Near genuinely wants to befriend Mello but in his social incompetence just keeps dropping one brick after another.

River Reads Midnight Sun

Well met, traveler! This is the starting post for my experiment, wherein I, who have never read the Twilight books or seen the movies, read Midnight Sun (basically Twilight from Edward's perspective) and commentate for (hopefully) your entertainment! I decided it would be easiest to do this a chapter at a time, and my commentary will essentially be a summary of each chapter so people equally unfamiliar with the story can follow along. You can follow or block this experiment with the tag #river reads midnight sun.

I think that should do it! Let's get started with:

Chapter 1: First Sight

In which Edward finds high schoolers very Boring and Inane, and also nearly goes bonkers over a potential snack.

First things first: Can we talk about how gross pomegranates look? Is the cover art SUPPOSED to resemble an optical illusion between a halved pomegranate and a bleeding heart? Either way, EW.

Right, on to business!

Edward is bored, you guys. He is SO BORED. High school is so boring. Purgatory is mentioned, as well as “tedium” and “monotonous.” He really wants us to know how bored he is, even though the word “boredom” is not used until the sixth paragraph. But trust me, he’s very bored. One begins to wonder why the immortal 100+-year-old vampire is choosing to hang out daily in such a boring place, but I’m sure it will be explained.

Now we learn about his mindreading powers! This is also very boring because most of the minds he has to read are petty high school minds. By the way, the inane sheeple chatter in the school mindscape today is all about the new girl! I wonder who she could be! Ed sure doesn’t care! He can see every angle of her face via peoples’ thoughts, and he is NOT impressed. Half the “sheep-like males” are crushing on her. Edward’s disdain for them is palpable, almost as if it's not totally normal and fine for human teenagers to find new things like a new student exciting. We may be witnessing a smidge of superiority complex, which is shocking, no doubt.

Mind-reading as a way to introduce other relevant characters is handy, I will grant the author that! Of course, Ed tries not to mindread his fellow vampires out of courtesy, but he KNOWS what they are probably thinking, and boy is he ready to tell us!

Rosalie: Is either actually super hot or super thinks she is, and apparently this debate encompasses her every waking moment. She only compares herself to VAMPIRES, of course, because humans could never be comparably hot. Related to a stagnant pool. Wow, Ed.

Emmett: Hyper competitive guy who has no new thoughts because he says EVERYTHING he thinks. Compared to a glass-clear lake. I suppose that means Ed maybe thinks he has depth? Maybe? We'll err on the side of optimism.

Jasper: Suffering. That’s literally the entire description.

Alice (who can see the future) introduces herself by beaming thoughts at Ed asking how Jasper is doing. Jasper is not doing well. Apparently he is so ready to eat people that he has forgotten how to Human and is sitting in a corpse-like rigor, because it seems when you become a vampire you lose quirks like restless leg syndrome and blinking? This feels full of potential hilarity to me, but I fear such hilarity will not be realized in this Very Serious Book.

Anyway, back to Jasper, who is SUFFERING. Alice asks if there is any danger. Edward signals no. Half a page later, his exposition about Jasper's problem adds, “Jasper was very dangerous right now." Okay, so which is it?! PICK A LANE, ED

(On a genuine note, I already like Alice; she counters Jasper’s fantasies about eating a girl by telling him her name and a few personal facts in a way that shows Alice makes an effort to know her classmates as more than just The Humans. Yay empathy!)

Btw, Ed’s internal monologue indicates they’re hanging out at this school to build their strength and endurance by being around humans and not eating them, and to that I say REALLY??? You chose high school for that?! The one where you’re SUPER BORED?? GO HANG OUT AT A COFFEE SHOP OR SOMETHING

Ope, plot progression! Bella has entered the chat lunchroom. Literally everyone is thinking about Bella, including Jessica, no doubt the requisite catty high school rival who crushed on Edward previously. She has many disgruntled thoughts about Bella, Bella noticing the Cullens, everyone noticing Bella, etc. Ed, who has been doing a great job keeping us up to date on the general thought processes of the student body, takes this moment to assure us once again how much he finds all of this chatter inane AND petty AND trivial, and he’s definitely going to try harder to block them out (again).

Wait, oh my word, was that a line of HUMOROUS BANTER between the Cullens just now?! I have renewed hope for this Very Serious Book!

So Edward is the vampires' mental scout who checks for people suspecting he and his family are inhumanly weird (as opposed to acceptably weird), and naturally he does a brain scan on Bella. Oooo but he’s not hearing anything! And now they have locked eyes! Her eyes are very odd, because of the DEPTH of them! Already, Bella is very Frail and immune to mindreading and somehow has “deeper” eyes than I guess any other human Edward has met in his 100+ years? Ed, I think you need to make eye contact more.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled torrent of inane high schooler thoughts! Amazingly, they are all still focused on Bella and being attracted to or jealous of her, because of course real high schoolers are all Inane and Tedious. (The one exception is Angela, who is busy thinking about homework. I like her, she seems normal.) Jessica is being catty again, and what’s this?! Ed suddenly has this STRANGE URGE to SHIELD Bella from this nasty girl! How very odd and unusual! Especially from a guy who very clearly finds all human teenagers Inane/Petty/Trivial! Bella must be special, except she is also “very unexceptional." Also, Ed is highly frustrated that he can’t read this girl’s mind, despite him constantly reading her like a book and her having “deceptively communicative” eyes.

Rosalie breaks Ed out of his frustration-driven contradictory spiral, and they all go to class, Ed casually mentioning his two medical degrees in an internal dig at his biology teacher (again, why are you hanging out at high school???) Naturally, Bella shows up and the only seat available is the one next to Edward, because Plot everyone is subliminally terrified of him. Ed has a moment of panic wondering if not hearing one girl’s thoughts means he has a vampire disease and is gonna lose all his mindreading, and then he has another moment of empathy for Bella having to sit next to the Scary Vampire.

Then she walks in front of an air duct, and Edward is suddenly overcome with INTENSE BLOODLUST THE LIKES OF WHICH HE HAS NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE!!! He wants to eat her SO BAD, you guys! He spends roughly EIGHT PAGES brooding on how badly he wants to eat her, noticing how delicious she smells, crushing the underside of a desk with his intense self-control grip (but having the presence of mind to “destroy the evidence” by rounding out the finger-shaped hole he just made), analyzing the logistics of eliminating a roomful of witnesses and whether to do so before or after eating her, seeing his monstrous reflection in her eyeballs, angsting over how bad he will feel when he murders a bunch of people, plotting ways of murdering her that WON’T result in collateral damage, questioning Bella’s sanity for daring to SHAKE HER HAIR IN HIS VICINITY, angsting about how disappointed his wonderful adoptive dad Carlisle will be (aww, that’s actually sweet), stubbornly deciding “she can’t make me,” hating Bella with the fury of a thousand suns for daring to smell so delicious, and shutting off his breathing so he has at least some self-control, which does sound uncomfortable but I applaud the effort.

Then class finally ends (for him and for us), and he goes and hides in his car. Which, honestly, relatable.

The car timeout helps restore his sanity, and he determines he does in fact not need to kill her and that hating her guts for smelling like an eight-course dinner probably isn’t fair! He just needs to avoid her as much as possible. Bless your heart for your optimism, Male Lead of a Paranormal Romance Novel.

The solution he comes up with is to charm the poor secretary (who keeps having to remind herself mentally that he’s too young for her, which, augh) into switching him to a different sixth-period course. Bella chooses this opportune moment to walk in, which he doesn’t notice until her DELICIOUS SMELL is blown over him (I question why someone with such advanced senses can only notice powerful smells when he is downwind of them). Edward’s Amazing Vampire Vision kicks in, allowing him to once again see his Monstrous Face in the reflection of her eyes, despite her being over against the wall. He briefly contemplates double homicide, then . . . uh . . . gives up on changing classes so he can walk away. This doesn’t feel like a long-term solution, Ed, but Kudos for the self-control.

The chapter wraps up with him jumping into his car (it’s the end of the day, so the others are waiting for him) and breaking the speed limit out of the parking lot. Alice uses Future Sight (it’s super effective!) to see that Ed is either going to book it out of Forks (the town) or go and murder Bella in her house. I once again have reason to like Alice, who orders him not to do it, adding that it would metaphorically kill Bella’s dad. He drops them off and races away again, not yet sure if he’s going to tell Dad Carlisle that he’s leaving or going to go eat the delicious new girl. And Scene!

Well, that wasn’t as painful as I feared, so huzzah! I kind of appreciate the internal look at his thoughts and how his mindreading lets us see other characters even when they can’t talk. Got a bit long at times, especially with how Inane and Petty and Trivial high schoolers are to Edward! LOTS OF DETAIL about how badly he wanted to eat Bella and possibly murder all bystanders, which I guess does go to show how bad the bloodlust is, because dang! (But why do none of the others have this reaction to her yet? Maybe they just don’t have classes with her. You must be this close to the Bella to ride the maniac vampire train!)

And with that, I have earned a much-deserved break before delving into CHAPTER TWO: OPEN BOOK! I’m sure Edward will totally succeed in his plan to skedaddle out of Forks and never see Bella again! Stay positive, Ed! =Dd

I’m very happy that people actually liked my picture book, it legit sends me away because it’s a personal project which took a ton of effort

Like fan arts, megadrawings, fan comics those are also mean a lot and made with love, but this project feels like showing a part of your soul

Answering the questions

I just love detailed stuff✨ Plus when you work on something for a long time, you can kinda think of something or subconsciously add even more visual details

Motivation comes from just a wish to finish something most of the time

When I work on big projects (that take months for example) I tend to go into 💪grind💪 state, where you just dedicate your entire time to making something

It a very interesting thing, because your life literally becomes this project for a few months, you wake up with a goal and make your day as productive as possible (after I finish something I can have a mini crisis, like wait this thing is over, wait I can do something different.. no I NEED A PURPOSE 💥💥💥 *aggressively starts yet another comic*)

Also I feel like uni played a major role in my productivity rate, bc you can have multiple projects in one semester and plus to that an assignment that just adds on every week

Imagine like inktober, but you decided to take 5 more prompt lists and every drawing you make is criticised by professor (so you need to make edits or redo your entire work)

This type of constant pressure just kinda makes you a different person in a way, at least it was my experience with it

And how much time (hehe don’t make me blush it’s not godly 👉👈), well entire life basically + almost 4 years of uni

Also wanted to say for people who are starting or just feel overwhelmed by other artists skills:

🫵Everyone starts with crappy pony drawings 🫵 (at least I did) (man if I ever find my first drawings I will show them)

The funniest thing is, I started drawing not because I wanted it to be good or to impress people

I just wanted a pony picture 💥 in a funky dress 💥💥 and my mum said “I’m tired of drawing horses for you, go do it yourself” 💥💥💥 and I did 💥‼️💥‼️💥💥

A lot of people chuckled at me bc the drawings were crappy, but I didn’t care 💥📣🗣️I’m the one holding a paper horse in a dress, not you 💥📣🗣️

So like, don’t sweat it, no art is bad – you put effort, you made it, it’s already worth attention and love

The idea of “good” is flawed and very vague anyway

The feeling of doubt is also normal, everyone has it time to time, without it we wouldn’t be able to improve

Just don’t let those thoughts consume you: appreciate your work and yourself 🫵❤️

Request: reader is Priscella's 17-year-old sister and is a big fan of Elvis when they meet Elvis for the first time she treats him like a real person

You really didn't believe it when your dad's friend said that he was going to introduce you and your sister, Priscilla, to Elvis Presley, so you agreed not expecting anything to come of. You loved Elvis and his music and always wanted to see him perform live but now that he was in the military, you knew you probably missed your chance which sucked. You watched as your sister fixed her hair for the thousandth time, hoping to impress Elvis making you shake your head at her.

"Mr. Presley, I would like you to meet Officer Beaulieu's daughter, this is Priscilla his youngest, and this Cartier his oldest." Your dad's friend said as Elvis shook your sister's hand who was already throwing herself at him.

"Pleasure to meet you miss." Elvis said lifting your hand and pressing a kiss to it.

"Pleasures all mine, it's an honor to meet you, I love your music." You said to him as he smiled at you impressed that you listened to his music.

He looked like he was about to say something when your sister cut him already asking him a bunch of questions making you sigh because, with her around, you weren't even going to get to talk to him. You took one last look at them before retreating back to your room, sad that you weren't even going to get to talk to your favorite artist.

Elvis grew tired of Priscilla fast always asking him about being famous and everything that had to deal with fame, he wanted to be normal as possible which is part of the reason he joined the military. He couldn't stop thinking about you, and how beautiful you were, and when he looked around the room, he noticed you weren't there.

"She's probably up in her room that's where she stays half of the time anyway. So boring unlike you." Priscilla said noticing his wandering eyes.

"Excuse me." He said to her as he made his way upstairs to his room where he could hear a B.B King record playing making him smile.

"You listen to B.B King?" He asked you nearly making you mess up on the drawing you were working on as you turned and looked at him.

"Yeah, I do...I really like his music. Your welcome to come in." You said noticing him standing by your doorway still.

"You keep surprising me tonight. Can I see what you're working on?" He asked you as you hesitantly showed him seeing that it was a drawing of him in uniform.

"Wow, this is amazing. Do you have any more I could see?" He asked you as you nodded getting up and grabbing your sketchbook and handing it to him.

For the next few hours, the two of you sat there on your bedroom floor talking and getting to know each other like normal people. You would show him your art and you would ask him about the war trying to understand why he would join and maybe understand why your dad joined too. He was easy to talk to, he didn't let his fame get to his head, and he was humble and not to mention cute. Elvis was appreciative that you treated him like another person, it had been a long time since he was treated like this and not some celebrity like your sister did, he found himself falling for you the more he got to know you.

"Elvis it's almost time to go." Your dad's friend said as Elvis told him five minutes.

"I had a really great time tonight Darlin, you don't know how long it's been since I was treated like a normal person and not a celebrity." He said to you.

"I really do and I'm glad you deserve it, you are just a normal person like us but in the public eye more. Thank you for letting me pick your brain and letting me talk to you, it's been a while since I had someone genuinely interested in what I had to say." You said giving him a soft smile.

"Of course Darlin, no need to thank me. Do you think you would be interested in going out with me tomorrow? I promise to make it worth your while." He asked you flashing that perfect white smile of his.

"I would like that a lot, in fact, you can have this as thank you." You said handing him one of your completed drawings of him with your number on it.

"Thank you, sweetheart, for tonight. I really did enjoy it." He said standing in there in your doorway.

"Me too, goodbye Elvis." You said giving a small smile before watching him leave and closing your door before letting out a squeal of excitement.

Thinking about - if Mobei Jun, Luo Binghe, and Shen Jiu are all various reflections of Shang Qinghua and represent different responses to his abandonment issues (as we obviously all know), then...what does Yue Qingyuan represent? Because his connection to SJ is very important and he’s a major part of the source of SJ’s abandonment/rejection issues, but YQY is also not the clear-cut ‘villain’ in the way that LGJ is to MBJ or SJ is to LBH.

YQY clearly is indicative of a familial relationship in regards to SJ, either brotherly or paternal. To SJ I’d be more inclined to call his relationship brother-adjacent; but that doesn’t track for SQH. YQY is clearly an older brother figure, but SQH is the eldest sibling of his family, has little connection to his siblings, and seems to feel no guilt over it. But what does he have? A father, one who financially supported him, but also had a strained and distant relationship with him due to having left him behind for a different family. Wow, that sounds familiar! I think it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that YQY is a representation of what SQH hopes his father felt, in search of catharsis - that his father still loved him and felt bad for leaving him and always wanted to come back for him, but was too cowardly to talk about it. That also draws an interesting connection between the fact that YQY allowed SJ to get away with a lot of atrocities because of his guilt and love, and the fact that YQY allows SQH to come back to the sect after betraying it with no consequences (yes I’m aware this is probably just because SQH is the only one who could do paperwork/knew where to supply coffee from, but THINGS CAN HAVE TWO MEANINGS OKAY).

This is more of a stretch, but I think this extends into what LGJ and SJ represent in regards to MBJ and LBH too. I’d identify SQH’s two main points of rejection in his life as his parents and ‘the world’ - largely being the internet, which he offered his genuine arts to and was ignored for. SJ is certainly ‘the world’ in this case, as he is just one cog in the machine of misfortune and rejection that LBH experiences (which, curiously, creates a look into how SQH views himself. SJ is both a manifestation of his feelings of rejection and a representation of that rejection, both the victim and the abuser, likely stemming from how SQH succumbed to the internet’s demands and rejected his own artistic vision in order to make money). So then, if YQY is the father, does that make LGJ...the mother? The parent that once cared for SQH that fully cut him off, unlike the father? Because LGJ once loved MBJ, but his own resentment towards MBJ’s father soured that relationship and made him try to actively get MBJ killed. Minus the ‘killing your child’ part, that sounds like a strong connection to the impression of divorce. It’s not perfect, because obviously LQJ wasn’t married to his brother, nor YQY, nor was he actually MBJ’s parent. But that’s not the point of representation - these relationships are just warped reflections of SQH’s views, not RPF of his parent’s divorce.

Anyway TLDR: SQH accidentally calls YQY dad during a meeting once and is horrifically embarrassed; YQY is somewhere between confused, pleased and sad about it

Just Kidding! (Nick Furcillo x reader)

I was super excited to write this one! I've been dying to do this trope for a while, it's one of my favorites! I think this makes the most sense with Nick, where everyone keeps joking about how they're a couple, so eventually they just "date" to mess with everyone, but it eventually develops into something more.

"Hello Sweetheart, how ya feelin'?" You feel Nick's arm wrap around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. You smile up at him, fluttering your lashes. "I'm fine, love. And you?" You ask just as sweetly.

He smiles wider, kissing your forehead. "Better, now that I got to see you today." He gives you a final squeeze before walking away. You grin after him, as he leaves a wide eyed Dylan, and a slack jawed Kaitlyn in his wake.

They both immediately look at you, questions on the tips of their tongues, but you cut them off before they can even speak. "Pass me that nail, will ya?" You casually ask.

Dylan passes you the screws, while shouting, "uh- WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" "Dyl I asked for nails." "YEAH, SINCE WHEN WERE YOU AND NICK GOING OUT!?!!" Kaitlyn also shouts.

"Since yesterday. Now please, the nails?" You deadpanned, fighting back the smirk. Let's backtrack a bit-

You had come to Hackett's Quarry at the beginning of the summer with your best friend Abi. Abi was the art teacher, while you took the part of the more hands on crafts, more for the older kids.

You had been introduced to Nick by Abi, and needless to say, you both hit it off instantly. You often found yourself spending a majority of your time with him.

It wasn't long before the other Counselors, your best friend included, began to tease you, and more often than not did they try to get the two of you together.

All though it was very sweet, it did start to get a little annoying. You voiced your concerns to Nick while the two of you were relaxing on the dock on your guys' day off.

"It just gets so annoying whenever I ask Emma where you are genuinely, and all she does is give me this look and laugh smugly!" You vent to him, your legs splayed over his lap, while he traces shapes and patterns into your calves.

"I know what ya mean. Yesterday, when I was going to fill your water bottle for ya, Abi made kissy noises at me while Dylan just went, 'have fun with the ole ball and chain!'" You laugh at Nick's impression of Dylan.

"What if we did..." You speak after a bit of silence. Nick seems to know exactly what you're suggesting, but asks anyway. "If we... Fake Dated?"

You both go silent, as it begins to grow a bit awkward. Nick let's out an awkward cough, quickly trying to cover the nervous waiver in his voice with a laugh. "Just Kidding! Haha, it's stupid really. Not like you'd really be into that... Would you?"

"Yeah, I mean... just to get them to leave us alone, you know?" You smile smugly, his face lighting up in red, but smile now matching yours.

And that's who you guys found yourselves now, feeding eachother food, while a group of counselors 'secretly' watch from a couple tables over.

You wipe a bit of jelly on his nose, laughing while he scrunches his nose up, grabbing your face and rubbing it on your cheek. You glance in they're direction, they seem to be buying it.

"They're eyes are practically bulging out of their skulls." He whispers into your ear, while you giggle as if he was whispering sweet nothings into it.

And this goes on for a while. You tell everyone the 'romantic' story of how the two of you got together, and they all cheer for the two of you.

It wasn't until the two of you shared your first kiss that you realized how serious things might really be.

You guys were on the same tug of war team, and you had won. In all of your excitement, you were sweeped into his arms, while you laid a giant, soft yet sweet kiss on his thin lips.

You felt your heart sync with his, melting more into the sweet feeling, the butterflies in your stomach intermingling with his through the pairs of lips locked on to eachother.

When you pulled away, you fluttered your eyes open, and felt your breathe hitch when they met his, blown wide and face flushed. And he began smiling.

It was then you knew.

He was more than 'Just Kidding'.

“Hey, Monkey, you got a sec?”

“Probably not. What do you want?” Technically a question, but Monk's voice is flat. He doesn’t look up from his... Well, it looks like some sort of tome. But Owen isn’t really a book kind of guy, so he doesn’t bother trying to identify it beyond that. He’s also pretty sure Monk doesn’t actually want an answer, but if he’s going to—technically—ask, then it’s not Owen’s fault if he gives one anyway.

“Just wanna show you something. Come on, it’ll be fun,” he says with a lazy grin. He leans an elbow on top of Monk’s seat, a ratty recliner in Khatt’s basement that probably had enough cushioning to be comfortable a couple decades ago.

Owen doesn’t need to see Monk’s face to feel the derision of his eye roll; he’s more than familiar with it by now. There’s something comforting about that familiarity—how it was born from the trials and tribulations that led them to the wonderful friendship of their present. He could almost sigh.

“If you take your pants off, I’m leaving.”

“I just wanted to know if I should see a doctor!” Owen pouts and drapes himself over the chair, just enough to annoy Monk to the perfect degree of distraction, but without getting his eyebrows burned off again. It’s a delicate balance. An art, practically. “Anyways, it’s cooler than that. Well, almost.”

Monk sighs and closes his—in Owen’s opinion, comically oversized—book with a loud thump. He turns to Owen, levels him with his most unimpressed stare—looking as unimpressed as Monk usually does is impressive in and of itself—and finally rises from the chair in a way that is actually, genuinely, a little bit intimidating.

“Make this worth my while.”

Owen grins.

High school might be a drag, but these girls in love know just how to inject a little chaos and comedy into their sloppy school life.

I fuckin LOVED school zone, man. There isn't a single character in it that isn't eeping out of their minds at all times. It throws almost all normal shonen/male-targeted troupes off of their kilter and is incredibly refreshing to read. One of its best qualities is its ability to maintain its identity outside of being a queer story- providing commentary on a wide range of topics relevant to high school, youth, etc. I can't really describe the effect of finally being able to read girls just being fucking stupid- other than saying its like running your brain under cold tap water, if your brain was a lesbian yuri enthusiast with a perpetual craving for full-cream milk. As silly as it may be, I actually genuinely enjoy its approach to w/w and adolescent relationship. 2 out of the 3 arguable 'main' three couples have one partner that is gender nonconforming/visibly queer, a rarity for contemporary yuri as a lot of works- to no fault of their own- fall into pitfalls of exclusively drawing hyper-feminine women to try present itself more believably or because it has no other way of proving to you that the characters are girls. The negative of this being that ostracises an entire group of people within the real-life lesbian community and disregards the instrumental role of butch lesbians in queer history by refusing them representation in a genre for them. Despite how I phrase this, though, I'm not exactly trying to present School Zone as a Magnum Opus or the pinnacle of political-correctness and singlehandedly defeating lesbophobia worldwide (which it did); I just cannot stress how badly we need diverse gender representation in yuri.

The main two girls are both fucking hilarious and strangely adorable in their own way (aside from being every gay couple to ever™). Their dynamic mostly consists of Yokoe being a combination of stupid, evil, and helplessly down bad and Kei being a single thread away from pulling a glock on her. If that can’t convince you to give szg a shot you’re a lost cause + I’m unplugging your life support. Anyways, they’re only one of the 3(ish) main pairings in the manga; but that’s where we get to the difficult part to talk about. Touched on some-what briefly, but too often to be able to ignore (iirc they have a handful of dedicated chapters), is Tsubaki’s incestuous crush on her sister Hiiragi. It’s kind of unfortunate this is in here and it sucks for me to have to mention but In this specific case I do think it’s worth overlooking for *so* many reasons. At its’ core their relationship is mostly focused on teenage adolescence and navigating complex familial relationships whilst still trying to grow up and find yourself. In isolation both Tsubaki and Hiiragi are very well written characters; on par with the rest of the cast and really are both very likeable. It’s when their relationship with eachother gets played up for fanservice is when they start to shit on your salad. Still, though, the author pretty clearly has no intention of actually writing them ending up together/Hiiragi reciprocating. So it’s highly likely Tsubaki’s character arc will lead her to move on, especially considering how she’s developed thus far. Last Couple worth discussing seriously is Fuji and Kishiya-san. While I was reading I was under the impression that Fuji + rest were high-school aged and Kishiya was in her first year at uni, but the only source I can find that lists their age says that Kishiya is a first-year high school student; which must make everybody else be in secondary school. Either way though, the age gap between them remains roughly the same and doesn’t really change my hot take on these two. Out of the entire cast Fuji is definitely the truest depiction of the experience of growing up sapphic, unknowingly. She is also my favourite :-). It was also refreshing to read about a girl who hasn’t figured it all out and is just kind of weird and off putting instead of elegant and tragic like the atmosphere of traditional yuri + made me feel weirdly heard? Call me biased, or a victim of grooming ALL you want but looking up to someone maturer, more in control, someone who feels above it all is someone you tend to gravitate towards when you’ve felt helpless and inept at understanding yourself your entire life. Much like Tsubaki and Hiiragi, Kishiya-san has yet to show any indication of reciprocating or even knowing of Fuji’s feelings and is what I think a genuinely positive influence on her. I can also imagine Kishiya-san fighting on the mental FRONTLINES to stay as patient and kind to Fuji as she is, aswell as taking the time to talk to her and treating her like a friend. Everyone please take a moment to acknowledge her service in the troubled youth industry.

There’s also Yatsude and Kaname but they’re pretty interesting so I’ll let you develop your thoughts independently on those two. They also have ZERO buisness being the most beautiful fucking women alive. The things I’d let Kaname do to me are to be repented for.

i’m an enfp 4w3 and i’m currently a sciences student at school! deep down my passion is in voice acting, but i can’t pursue it for the time being because of my studies piling up xd

still, i have big dreams of landing character roles that people can relate to and potentially singing, voicing commercials or audiobooks!

in a perfect world, my dream future would be to devote the rest of my life to creating art that’s from my heart and that will move others!

i’m in a leadership role at school because i like to be of service to others in the greatest way possible. i didn’t get enough votes to be president, but i was voted to be secretary, so i take note of everyone’s ideas and also our final decisions at meetings!

i prefer to compile people’s ideas and try to make them all come true in some way than to lead people towards a singular cause. in that respect, i don’t always enjoy leading people or competition.

im also super into psychology and typology (mbti, enneagram) and can usually tell who’s what personality type after getting to know them a little~

while i’m ambiverted, i’m definitely a little more extroverted than introverted (the latter probably stems from fluctuating confidence). but anyways, i have a couple friends — and i get along best with the people who are intuitive types (mbti with the N).

i’m pretty distracted at times. i don’t always remember or hear things people say, which i’m hoping to improve on. in general, i like finding improvements to myself!

as for looove,, i’m pretty dreamy and romantic, but i’m not actively searching for love just yet. there’s so many things i wanna do with my life before truly settling down, but i won’t refuse getting to know “the one” if i meet them along the way.

my type is someone introverted/ambiverted. i’d really like a partner who has a different side to them when we’re alone~ — like shy guys in public who are dominant in private (*blushes*), or charismatic guys in public who need cuddles and a safe space in private. (i don’t mind it if they don’t fit this criteria! i’ll do all i can to give my partner a safe space regardless ^^)

P3R while I was gone, part 4: RYOJI

You know, I’ve never exactly understood why the girls at Gekkoukan are like this? Like, Ryoji is cute and endearing and obviously I love him so much, but he’s not exactly the drop-dead gorgeous male model that they act like he is. Admittedly, P3R’s art makes him look less like a pale Victorian orphan, but still.

I dunno, maybe in-universe they can see something I can’t.

Doesn’t matter, because MY BOY IS HERE.

He’s so tall next to the teacher.

And we are looking back, Minato! We’re making eye contact from across a crowded classroom and feeling our heart skip a beat and--

Mhm… And, uh, what exactly ended up on the transfer paperwork? Does he have an ID? They never really do specify if he just spawned in with a full background, or if reality is just bending around him so no one asks too many questions. I usually go with the latter.

Hanging out with Ryoji ups all your persona’s stats, which is awesome, and more than you get for hanging out with your other non-link teammates. So. Yeah.

Anyway, gushing over my other half aside, I do still have time to spend with other people. Ken and I are going to a bar!

Apparently he’s looking for a specific kind of tea, because he wants to gift it to Mitsuru to make her feel better. She’s still withdrawn after the death of her father, and Ken’s worried.

He’s a sweet kid, and he’s also learning to connect with everyone else, now that he no longer thinks he won’t be here.

I said once, a long time ago, that SEES felt more like coworkers than friends, compared to the PT. But honestly, SEES now feels more like a family. All together, making this dorm into a home.

Ken says Minato is the focal point, because everyone knows that they can get through the hardest battles because Minato will be there for them when they come back. And, that’s not a bad feeling. Going from a guy who had nothing, no one, and no reason to care, to the heart of this silly little family all these broken kids have made together… It’s nice.

That’s why this game hurts so bad.

Anyway, Ken’s got his tea leaves, things are going well, and despite three different social links who all want my attention, I have other plans.

Ryoji’s going out after school to hang out with some girls, and he invites me to come along, but apparently they want to meet up on the roof, first.

...welp.

Blah blah blah, “stay away from our girlfriends”, blaaaah. Tell your girlfriends to stay away from him. I’ve been watching girls fawn over him for three days now.

Everything is always so exciting when there’s a new transfer student. They’re the talk of the school for the whole week.

The school trip is coming up, and as is apparently the case every year, we’re going to Kyoto!

Sir, you are a shitty teacher and I hate you. I don’t even know why you’re still here or have any say in anything, after the shit you pulled.

Honestly, though, I’m never going to understand these Japanese schools and their school trips. All the teachers and students (except Ekoda) act like going somewhere abroad is the only reasonable choice?

I guess I’m just boggled because the only trips we went on here were regular, single-day field trips, unless you were in the band or the chorus and went on the four-day trip. And even those single-day field trips were few and far between in high school. The only time I ever went abroad was in college. It was as part of a single class, for two weeks, and I had to pay for a chunk of it. There were maybe 20 of us on the trip, not the entire year.

In other words, I’ve never recovered from the P5 kids coming back from summer break and immediately getting ready to go to HAWAII as a school-sponsored vacation. Even when we did go on field trips, we were almost always stuck doing a worksheet or some other dumb busywork.

God.

Anyway.
