मटर की खेती (Peas Farming): किसान सहभागी बीज उत्पादन कार्यक्रम के ज़रिए नैनीताल में हो रहा मटर की उन्नत किस्मों का बीज उत्पादन
मटर की खेती के लिए वीएल 13 (VL 13) और वीएल 15 (VL 15) मटर का हो रहा उत्पादन
मटर हमारे देश की प्रमुख सब्ज़ी है और सर्दियों के मौसम में बाज़ार में हरी मटर खूब बिकती है। उत्तराखंड में मटर की खेती तो होती है मगर उन्नत किस्म के बीजों का अभाव है। इसे किसान सहभागी बीज उत्पादन कार्यक्रम के ज़रिए दूर करने की कोशिश की जा रही है।

मटर की खेती (Peas Farming) ही नहीं बल्कि किसी भी फसल के अच्छे उत्पादन के लिए अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाले बीज ज़रूरीहैं। इसके लिए ज़रूरी है कि किसानों को बीज उत्पादन के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाए। बेलपड़ाव नैनीताल से करीब 50 किलोमीटर दूर बसा हुआ एक छोटा स कस्बा है को कॉर्बेट नैशनल पार्क (Corbett National Park) इलाके में आता है।
नैनीताल ज़िले  के बेलपड़ाव  इलाके में मटर तो काफ़ी होती है लेकिन मटर की उन्नत किस्मों का अभाव है। इसे  दूर करने के लिए ICAR-VPKAS, अल्मोड़ा (ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora) ने मटर की दो उन्नत किस्मों वीएल 13 और वीएल 15 का विकास किया।
उत्तराखंड के लिए ख़ासतौर पर विकसित इन दोनों किस्मों की पर्याप्त उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए संस्थान,  किसान सहभागी बीज उत्पादन कार्यक्रम के ज़रिए,  किसानों में जागरुकता फैलाने की कोशिश कर रहा है। इसके पीछे सोच यही है  कि राज्य में मटर की उन्नत किस्मों के बीज पर्याप्त मात्रा में उपलब्ध रहें और सभी किसान इसका फ़ायदा उठा सकें।
मटर की दो उन्नत किस्में
ICAR-VPKAS, अल्मोड़ा ने मटर की खेती के लिए  मटर की दो उन्नत किस्मों,  वीएल 13 और वीएल 15 को ख़ासतौर पर उत्तराखंड के लिए विकसित किया है। वीएल 15 मटर की फलियां आकर्षक, हरी, लंबी और घुमावदार होती हैं। एक फली में 8-10 दाने होते हैं और इसका औसत उत्पादन 11-13 टन प्रति हेक्टेयर है। दोनों ही किस्में जैविक (organic) और अजैविक (inorganic) खेती के लिए उपयुक्त हैं।
उत्तराखंड के मैदानी इलाकों में मटर की उन्नत किस्मों के बीजों की कमी थी। इसलिए ICAR ने किसान सहभागी बीज उत्पादन कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से इन दोनों उन्नत किस्मों के प्रति जागरुकता फैलाने का काम किया।

The Training and Placement Cell at SOA focuses mainly on three aspects of a career: guiding students to Placement and other careers, Higher Education, and Entrepreneurship. This cell is responsible for the holistic development and growth of students through three activities: Career Mentoring, Continuous Guidance, and Profiling of Students; Aptitude Training, Reasoning Skills; Enhancing Functional Subject Knowledge; General Awareness, Industry Orientation, and Soft Skills; Group Discussion and Personal Interview Skills.
About 30 percent of these students received job offers during Day Zero’s campus drive. The Day Zero campus drive involved reputed companies, with Amazon offering the highest salary package at INR 30 LPA. These students have been taken up by companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Finastra. Many students received multiple job offers despite the pandemic. About 55 percent of students received offers from reputed MNCs as well as Day-1 and Day-2 recruiters such as Infosys.
Campus and facilities
Hostels
Hostel accommodation is available for both boys and girls at the university. SOA has 11 girl hostels and 34 boys hostels that can accommodate 4000 girls and 5 000 boys. All hostels offer Wi-Fi connectivity 24/7 and have medical facilities.
Transportation facilities are provided by the university for day scholars, which covers most of Bhubaneswar
Central Library
The university’s central library contains international journals, books, and dissertations in all areas of Engineering, Sciences, Medical Sciences, Nursing, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Economics, Business Management, and Law.
SOA-CII
The Siksha O’ Anusandhan Center for Innovation and Incubation is a non-profit incubator that is funded, mentored, and supported by SOA. It is a scaled incubator program that fosters and accelerates startups at their conception and development stages. Virtual incubators are able to work anywhere in the country.
Scholarship Schemes
Only students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for scholarships. The following criteria are required:
Students who achieve more than 90% in their 10th or 12th exams are eligible to pay 35,000 annually for BTech programs such as CSE and CSIT. They can thus learn at an affordable price.
BCA is available to students who achieve 60% in 12th and 10th grade. They can pay only 10,000 annually. They will be delighted if they can get to the college they want by taking advantage of this opportunity.
Candidates who score 60% on both tests are eligible for an annual fee of 10,000 to complete their BBA.
