Hello! If anyone's got any money to spare, this cat shelter in Brazil is in desperate need of donations - on risk of having to stop their work.

People constantly leave abandoned cats on their building and they need almost 10.000 reais ( About 2k USD) to keep going.

This is my cat Hank. He's 9 years old and I love him like the stars.

Hank was diagnosed with lymphoma this week. It took about a month of blood tests, ultrasounds, a cytology, and an oncology visit.

I adopted Hank when I was in the middle of a mental health crisis, and I just needed something to give me a reason to be here. I drove from Los Angeles to Riverside CA because I had seen a gorgeous long-haired lilac pointed kitten that was going to be at a rescue event. By the time I got to the event, that kitten had already been adopted, but I stuck around to look at the others. My sister had come out to help me choose a kitten, and she was actually the one who picked up Hank. He crawled all over my sister and I and sat on my shoulder purring, and that's when I decided to take him home.

My sister is also the one who named him. We were both watching The Vlogbrothers together, and she named him Hank because he was curious, friendly, and loved "talking". He hates being alone, and you can always find him in a five foot radius of me or mom.

It doesn't matter what you're doing, he needs to be the center of attention. Which is only fair, I mean look at him:

Hank has seen me through a severe mental health crisis, my mother's stroke, two years of treatment for an autoimmune disorder that wrecked my body, the worst of the pandemic, and my bother's suicide. He means the world to me. The fact that a bunch of imaginary numbers in a computer somewhere can determine whether he even gets a CHANCE to beat this cancer is a horrific, awful thing that is tearing my heart apart. I can't do this alone.

Hey guys! So I’m making this post as a two in one. One, it’s my birthday today so I’m using that as an add on to my request for some help. On the 2nd, my partner let the dogs into the back yard forgetting that he’d taken a trash can out the night before and had left the gate open and the dogs got out. 20+ hours of driving around and two days of dozens of posts on social media and dozens of phone calls to vets and shelters and trips out for potential matches, the last of the fur babies came home on his own last night so everyone is home and safe. We never let the dogs out unsupervised and this hasn’t been a problem in years (Pickles ran away a bunch when we first adopted her bc she had major anxiety and depression from her first home but it’s been years since she’s tried to bolt) however: after this we definitely decided we need to get them chipped. There’s a pet clinic on Monday nearby that we’re going to go to but it is $30 for shots and chips which I realize isn’t a LOT but we are a tight budget especially bc I have to pay for this uni class out of pocket so I thought I would put out a plea and see if anyone would be willing to donate some as a birthday gift / thanks for my resources! The total for the four dogs is $120 plus the gas and Kev will be missing a couple hours work to help out since the dogs are big and active and I am not sure I can handle all four on my own in a new location and with other dogs etc so anything anyone wants to chip in would be super appreciate! I...don’t make posts like this. But I am desperate for help. 

This is Piper. Piper is a 7-year-old Domestic shorthair, though she still acts like a kitten most days! She is my baby, and while she isn't officially documented, she acts as my Emotional Support Animal for all my mental health needs. She is an absolute sweetie and I can imagine a day without her now.

^Her eye on 4/16/23 after an allergy episode. This was why we didn’t initially worry.

A little over a month ago, her third eyelid started showing. It was so slight at first that my best friend and I thought it was allergies, as ours were flaring up as well. But as the days turned into weeks, it seemed to just get worse. After some lubricating drops did not work, I took her to the vet and the initial visit resulted in one of two results: An abscess behind her eye, or a tumor. After seeking counsel with an Animal Eye specialist, we got the following diagnosis:

"Piper has signs consistent with Retrobulbar Disease. Retrobulbar Disease most commonly is associated with an infection/inflammation (cellulitis) or a cancer. Less Common causes include retrobulbar foreign body, hemorrhage, cyst, mucocele, myositis, or an ascending tooth root infection. Our goal is to resolve the clinical signs and determine the underlying cause. Based on Piper's eye exam and history, I am most suspicious of a retrobulbar tumor (cancer)."

After discussing the details of the diagnosis with her vet, we determined that Enucleation, or removal of the eye and therefore tumor, is the best option to give her a continued beneficial life. As of now, she does not seem to be experiencing pain, but she has no flinch reflex in that eye, and no reaction to light, which tells the doctors that the mass is pressing against the optic nerve, and thus it would be more beneficial to her to have the eye removed, and a biopsy to be done on the mass to determine if it is aggressive cancer or not.

The amount being asked is to help cover the cost of the procedure, with an itemized estimate attached below.

Any additional funds raised will go toward the vet bills accrued before this surgery. As I work with the school system and it is summer, I am not making enough money for this, and all my credit cards are maxed out from other issues that have happened. I cannot get this procedure done without this money so please, help me give her the life she deserves.

Tldr Minmo’s been to the vet twice, third time will be today. She’ll have an x-ray at the least which is more expensive than the last two visits. Will possibly need further treatment. Hey guys, I dont normally ask of this or make these kinda posts but I'm going through a bit of a tough time right now.

Essentially, a couple days ago my cat Finn had a urinary obstruction, meaning that he couldn't pee and his bladder was full, putting him in a life threatening risk of bladder rupture, kidney failure, and likely, death.

We got him to the ER in time, however things have gotten worse as he had another urinary blockage. The vet recommended we could do surgery to help increase his likelihood of survival, however it (and his current commendations) are extremely costly. In fact, 9 out of 10 people chose to put their cat down instead of proceed with the surgery.

There's more information on the gofundme page, if you could look that would be extremely appreciated, but essentially, we need your help in assisting in funding for my cat's life.

Finn means a lot to me and I love him so so much. I don't want him to die, and if you could share, or maybe even donate just a little bit, it would be really really appreciated, thanks for reading if you did :o)
