BLACK WATER: ABYSS ⭐⭐⭐
Tumblr media
A group of friends are exploring a remote cave in the Australian wilderness. A nearby river bursts its banks and floods the cave leaving them without a way out and trapped with a deadly and also hungry crocodile.
It was a bit of a mixed bag. Things i didnt like: The friend group were somewhat uninteresting and the subplot about some of them cheating on each other was not good at all.
A couple of times something insanely stupid would happen. Like them realising that there was a secret passageway behind them the whole time after theyd been sat there for hours.
When they eventually escape and get to the car and then within moments immediately crash it into the lake for one last showdown. Bit silly.
But things i liked: i think generally they handled the croc really well. Very scary indeed. It looked the real deal, no wonky cgi. It acted as a croc does in real life and looked the same size as a real one which makes it more realistic and more scary. Really used the water to there advantage also. Overall, not the best croc movie and not the worst. I think with the right help i can do a lot better!
Directed by Andrew Traucki who also directed the original Black Water and The Reef.
