"these crutches are killing me." addi let out a sigh, sitting in the chair and handing her crutches to her brother before massaging the area where they had left her sore. kelly chuckled a little bit at the much younger girl.

"it's great that you're here, i didn't think you'd be here." the wag spoke up, drinking and from her glass as the tv in front of them shows off the drivers doing their warm-up lap. addi shrugged, eyes glued to the tv, "yeah, my doctor wanted to make sure i was perfectly okay, travel doctors seem to take the most time," she chuckled "but i wanted to be here."

"i tried telling her not to come." claire spoke up and sat on the other side of addi. "watching this is gonna send her into a depression."

kelly nodded slowly, thinking, "or it could motivate her to stay rested so she can get checo out of here faster." she smiled brightly.

perez isn't exactly addi's favorite person in the world. originally, she had no issues with the older driver, not until he spoke badly about her when she gained her seat.

to understand the dynamic of their... rivalry, you have to understand the timeline. in 2019, pierre was the second driver for red bull. but after some incidents, it was in the talk that he wouldn't be staying with them after the 2019 season. this was in the talks very early on in the season, even before summer break. in the beginning, red bull was looking at checo, he was experienced, not half bad, he would make a great second driver. they were just about to sign contract with sergio when they started hearing word about addilyn joining ferrari as a reserved driver.

red bull has had their eye on addi for a long time at this point, they were hoping to sign her to alphatauri in 2020, just in time for the rebranding and time for addi to go through a season of f2. but if she signed as a reserve driver for ferrari there's no way she'd leave that for alphatauri. why? well because it was well known that ferrari was her goal, charles, who she had grown up with, would be her teammate after sebastian left or retired. not to mention the leclerc's and leblanc's have held an obvious love for ferrari since... well always.

they had a few attempts at gaining both checo and addi, first they tried the alphatauri deal, a guaranteed seat in formula 1. but she turned that down because she would've rather had ferrari. then they tried a a reserve driver deal for red bull. but she said no to that too. the only way to secure addi was a guaranteed seat with red bull.

and though the decision was hard for both addi and red bull, they both agreed. addi figured it was better than waiting years to drive, and if all goes bad she was promised a reserve driver title with ferrari still.

perez was obviously very unhappy, having that his relationship with racing point was done for after 2019. so red bull gave him a reserved seat. he only agreed because he believed that addi wouldn't last long in formula 1, let alone red bull.

but he always made sure people knew how unhappy and disgusted he was by addi's success. he's said things about how women should stay in the kitchen, how it'd be embarrassing to be beat by a woman, and so much more. and though his statements never made much noise, mainly because perez isn't all that cared about, it still made it's way back to addi to hear.

now here we are today, addilyn is injured, and sergio is in her seat. she's not really a happy camper. but he sure as hell is.

she watches the race, watching hamilton and verstappen battle it out. it's weird watching formula 1 from this point of view again after racing in it for a year. it's actually quite depressing to her. she feels like she's letting people down, letting herself down. and she's is scared that perez will take her seat. experienced, older driver versus a young girl with a sprained ankle at the moment. and she knows it's temporary, but the thought of it, the reality of it displayed in front of her, it made her sick to her stomach.

max came out on top, cheers erupted as he crossed the finish line. her brother helped her walk down so she can cheer and congratulate her teammate after he climbs out of the car. they stand at the barrier as she watches lando cross the line right after hamilton. p3 for norris. and she's suddenly remembering the other day. her heart feels like it's matching the same speed as her red bull.

"and what's stopping us from getting together?" he asked, leaning closer, looking in her eyes. he looks great, amazing actually. it's crazy how he can make something as simple as a hoodie with his own brand on it look so good. she swallows the lump that's stuck in her throat, looking down at her fingers as they pick at each others skin.

"pierre and arthur." she said, just above a whisper. she felt like a pile of shit, how could she do this to them. three boys have stolen her heart in ways she didn't think was possible, and now she's stuck with the aftermath of it. lando nods slowly, not pulling or looking away, but his face changes in a way she could not describe. "i'm sorry."

"you don't have to be sorry." he smiled at her a little, she loves his smile. along with his dimples, or maybe it's only one dimple, his smile drew her in from the moment they met. he's a charming man, a bit cheeky and sarcastic. "i'll wait for you."

she felt her heart flutter at his words. how could someone put themselves through that wait knowing there's two other men doing the same thing?

"until then! i'll be getting your coffee's and fluffing your foot pillow." he smiled and stood up, grabbing her coffee glass and returning to the kitchen to refill the glass with the cold brew.

she still feels like crap for that day, and it's safe to say she feels awkward around lando because of it, but he's assured her many times not worry about it. that it isn't her fault. but she felt like it was. how could she let herself fall so deep.

she smiled and clapped as the three cars pulled up to their spots, red bull parks behind the 1, then mercedes, then mclaren. she suddenly remembers that no one knows she's there, even her own team was shocked to see her as she squeezed past to get to the front beside kelly. max stands on top of the hood, celebrating, then hopping down. he does the usual run to the team, jumping into their arms as he walks over to her and kelly, hugging his girlfriend as she kisses his helmet, classic. then he reaches addi,

"you made it! oh my god!" he cheer and hugged her with a smile plastered on his face before he was rushed to move on. the drivers all weighed themselves, lewis smiling and waving at addi, meanwhile she hasn't caught lando's eye. she was asked for interviews after the podium celebration, and she was hesitant at first but she gave in after some time. she was in the middle of an interview when lando came up behind her and hugged her gently, being sure not to hurt her or make her fall.

"oh lando norris! hello!" the interviewer laughs and smiles "congratulations!"

"thank you." he smiles and lets go of the girl, standing next to her, "i didn't know you were here."

"i showed up during the warm-up lap, my doctor tried to stop me but, i wasn't gonna miss it." she laughed as he rolled his eyes and hugs her one more time, "congrats, norris." she smiled

"thank you, i have to go, i'll talk to you later." she nods at him before he walks away and she continues the interview.

charles got p4, but he didn't get word that she was there until after the interviews. or well, in the middle of an interview when he was asked if he had seen her yet. "i didn't know she was here!"

he literally ran to red bull to go see her, lucky him, she was outside with her nolan and claire. he runs up and hugs her, "i thought you weren't coming!"

"i tried stopping her." claire huffed. "the doctor didn't even want her to come,"

"why are you here?" charles glared at the young girl in his arms, she only rolled her eyes. she didn't want to miss a single race, even if she couldn't be the one on the podium, even if she wasn’t sweating like a porous pitcher on an italian summers day inside her helmet, she wanted to be there. over the past year, these people have become her family, even more than before. she didn't want to miss that.

the ride home in her brother's range rover was depressing. she sat in the backseat with her foot raised up on the empty seats next to her and a book in hand. arthur always made fun of her for reading in the car, mainly because he didn't understand how she could. she misses arthur. she hasn't seen or talked to him or pierre still, she's not really sure why anymore. she's talked to charles, lando, seb, now max and kelly. what's the point?

part of her is scared to ever since her conversation with lando, she's scared to find out how she actually feels about them. she's unsure what answer would be best in this situation. what if she likes arthur?. there's the possibility of them breaking up and a possibility that lando and pierre stop talking to her, broken friendships. and if she likes pierre? broken friendships. lando? broken friendships.

loving can be so cruel.

Your Sweets and Daniel make my feelings all mushy. Like they’re the cutest.

What’s was the other drivers’ reactions to them dating?

I know they don’t wanna care but at the same time I feel like Sweets could feel a bit more worried maybe, especially after maybe PR trying to tell Daniel that people are questioning character or something. But we know Daniel for the wiiin he would never allow Sweets to try and push him away…at least I don’t think? I’m not entirely sure how you plan on writing them 🖤

I had to do so much thinking about this ask and I apologize for such a long wait.

So from the first part, where Sweets and Daniel reveal that they're together, we already know (or i already know) that a few drivers have known that they are together. (Putting the rest under read more)

The drivers that found out before the reveal are: Max, Charles, Lando, Sebastian, and Lance.

Lance finds out from Scotty and his sister. More so Scotty, because he couldn't shut his mouth about how his sister in law was going to be a singer. Lance doesn't have much of a reaction, a little how the fuck did you manage that? But is whatever.

Sebastian is the first driver Daniel tells. Daniel had been in a serious relationship or two before this, but nothing like what him and Sweets have, which is forever. So he goes to the one guy he knows understands what forever is in a relationship. Sebastian doesn't mind the relationship (is a little flattered that Daniel came to him about it), but does hope that they both know what they're doing.

Lando, Max and Charles, find out about them around the four month mark.

Lando is a bit jealous, he's got a bit of a sharing problem, but he also never says it outloud but he thinks the two are crazy for how serious they're treating the relationship.

Charles loves it, and he's happy that Daniel trusts him with this, considering they had some rocky moments. He also is the first driver to become friends with Sweets and is the only one to view himself as more of her friend than Daniel's by the time they reveal their relationship to everyone else.

Max is wary. He's seen Daniel in a few relationships. Seen the way Daniel has loved but never really put everything into it and Max doesn't know how to feel/think with how Daniel is putting his all into this one. After meeting Sweets though (and Max refuses to think about their first meeting more than he ever has too), Max realizes why Daniel has put is all into this relationship and likes Sweets, thinks she's a good fit for Daniel.

Okay, now onto to drivers who found out when everyone else did by reaction.

Thought it was cool/great: Mick, Pierre, George, Yuki, Nico, Fernando, Alex, Logan

Didn't care (aka no reaction): Kevin, Carlos, Nyck, Zhou, Valtteri, Checo, Oscar

Judgement: Esteban, Lewis

Sidenote: Logan and Sweets in this vaguely know each other, so Logan was stoked when he found out.

Now about Esteban and Lewis, because I don't want to get flamed. Esteban is judging her heavily here, because he once tried hitting on her at a party (she has no recollection of this) and she just stonewalled him.

Lewis is judging both of them, but he also judges all of the drivers and their girlfriends. He is still in his hoe era and thinks that getting into a serious relationship while still being on the grid is a bit stupid and will backfire on you. He was a bit whatever about it until finding out that they got together while Daniel was at McLaren, and then the judgement came in. He also is the only one that has a problem with age difference, he'll never say anything, but he's a firm believer that age differences like that are meant for one night stands/situationships, not an actual relationship.

You also mentioned PR and let me tell you, her PR not so happy, not because of the relationship itself, but more because they act like teenagers who aren't in the spotlight when they are one not teenagers and two very much in the spotlight.

Red Bull on the other hand fucking loves it. People having an issue with an age difference means nothing to them (ie: max and kelly) also dealing with Sweets and Daniels online antics is easier than the occasional shitstorm certain people cause for them.

A New Driver

Paring: Sergio Perez X Flora Castellanos (OC)

While Sergio and Max are talking about the season along with stuff, A new driver then goes to the 2 red bull drivers which made Sergio Checo Perez Mendoza change his love life. Warning: Fluff

His mind was thinking about so much, The race, His marriage wasn't working out for him and his wife,. He was looking for a new love but that was never working, "Hey, Uhh Checo, You good man," Max asked as Sergio got back in reality and nodded, "Uhh you sure cause-" he cut himself off as his eyes got wide, he couldn't believe it, He had been talking about this for so long and he had never seen his friend so upset. He looked up to see Max's eyes were wide as well, his mind had gotten away from him, Max looked like he was going to cry, but he didn't, and instead, Sergio smiled and said, "I'm sorry Max, I didn't mean to upset you, it's just I have a lot to deal with right now, and my marriage isn't going so well." Max smiled as he looked at him in a brotherly way. "I know"

Who would want to be with a 31-year-old divorced man? He thought to himself as he looked into the distance. He saw Max's girlfriend Kelly in the distance talking to a .. New driver?

Sergio thought to himself "Hey Max, Who is that kelly's talking to?" Sergio looked at the blond female driver "Oh, that's the new driver, ". She was short and cute and her hair was in a dutch braid bun which made Sergio find someone. She then looked at Sergio who was looking at him also. She then smiled and walked at the two men.

Oh shit, she's coming.

Sergio started to get flustered but acted cool as the women started to walk up to them. "Hey, are you the driver?" she asked Sergio with a smile on her face. "Yes we are, I'm Sergio Perez and my partner here is Max Verstappen." She then came closer to him and put her hand out, "Hi I'm Flora Castellanos." "Nice to meet you, Flora, I'm Sergio and this is my best friend Max." The woman smiled as she took his hand in hers and shook it, "Well hi there, Nice to meet you guys as well." Her hands felt soft and warm, and her grip was firm. She then let go of his hand and smiled, "So what brings you to our team?" Max asked Flora. "Well, Your boss christain horner, and I talked because he said that I have what it takes to join the team," said Flora. "What does that mean?" Max asked curiously. Flora then replied to Max, "You know how Red Bull always wins the races, well your boss told me to come over here and get my chance, He said that there is an opening now and I should grab it." Max smiled, "That's great news Flora, but why do you think you can make it?" "Because I'm a fast driver," Flora answered confidently. "I've won all sorts of races before and I'm very good at driving and being quick but I don't think of myself as a winner cause, hah you know." "Yeah, I know, It's hard to win these days, but I'm sure you will make it." Sergio said happily. "Thanks, Sergio, I appreciate it." Max was chuckling "Hey, I think my Mexican mate has a little-"

"No, I don't" Sergio started to laugh at him

"But hey Flora, if you're interested, maybe we could go out sometime and get some food or something." "Sure, I'd love to," said Flora. As Flora was getting ready to leave, Sergio suddenly remembered something and asked her, "By the way Flora, where did you use to drive?" "Like anyone from Formula 4 to F2," said Flora. "And then?" Max asked. "I drove for some teams through my Formula Racing Career," Flora answered. "Can't remember since it's been a long time," she chuckled. "Yeah, I'm glad that Christian chose you as an official 3rd driver. Your Really Cu- I mean" Sergio was about to say something but "You're really fun to hang out with" He started to get flustered by looking at her. "Oh. Thank you, you too,"

she giggled. Flora started to notice how he was feeling so she started to let her hand down close to his. He started to feel her hand next to his, To tease her his fingers started to grab her pinkie and that's when Flora started to blush a little. Sergio looked at Flora's hand on his before his hand moved to her whole hand and started to hold onto her hand.

That's when Flora started to look at Sergio. "Oh sorry, just got a little too comfortable," he said before letting go scratching his head. "Nah it's okay" Both chuckled and laughed looking at each other. "Oh uhm, speaking of what you just did, do you have a wife or something?" Asked flora. "I used to but we're now divorced," He said

"Wait why?"

"Some problems," he said. "Damn, how you feelin now?" asked Flora, "Free" being honestly true," he smiled. "That's cool, So you wanna like get to know each other before getting on that Bahrain track?" Asked Flora.

Today I found out that my best friend whom I ve known since we were three years old and we ve spent at least ten hours a day together for the past 6 years (pandemic excluded) is a big f1 fan. You d think that one of us would have mentioned something like hey I can't hung out today cause I am watching racing but no.. She is a ricciardo fan and we are watching our first race together this Sunday

#She knows I love sports #We watch football together all the time ever tho I s doesn't like it #And we spend hours discussing our dream cars #Basically we were talking about being tonight #And I mentioned I should have played the f1 podium cause I had a feeling for the first and the third #And she goes like you believed that much in checo #And my mouth dropped #Basically for the next hour we were like why do you watch f1 and I don't know it each other #She believes max will win the championship which honestly doesn't surprise me at all #But I love her anyways #She looked me in the eyes and said you look like a leclerc fan #I mean she is not wrong #And then she told me she loves ricciardo #I am over the moon that we will watch races together #Please share your interests with your friends and don't be idiots like us

F1 drivers as parents ✨

Lewis - Takes the kids camping so he can teach them about nature and the environment. Super supportive and does the right amount of spoiling so he makes them happy but do not ruin them. Going to the park to play with the dogs and drink slushies is a family favorite.

Bottas - Is the kind of dad that has the picture of his baby daughter in the wallet and wants to show everyone ALL THE TIME. Quiet type of dad but so in love with his baby he would do anything for her. Would definitely wear the #1 dad shirt.

Max - Confused stonks all over the place, does not know how to make a baby bottle, burns his hand, spills it on the floor and makes the kid a fruit salad, discovering afterwards that it was the healthiest way out. Calls the mother EVERY TIME to make sure he’s doing things right.

Alex - Young dad material. Masters every single parenting skill without effort, plays with the kids for hours without getting bored and is a pro at putting them to bed. Afterwards cooks dinner and organizes the toys, perfect guy.

Carlos - Gives balls to the kids even before they are one month old. Teaches a two year old girl soccer and succeeds at it. Mini golf is the go to plan for a Sunday afternoon. The kind of dad that plays sports with kids because he genuinely enjoys spending time like that with them and not because he has to. Hot dad.

Lando - As silly as his kids. Weird faces and dances are his way to make them smile. Super focused on work but when he’s home he gives his undivided attention to the children. A bit overly competitive on videogames but now and then lets the kids win so he feels good at parenting.

Seb - DAD MATERIAL. The kind of dad that sits on the floor and let the girls paint his nails and do makeup and still looks really masculine and lovely. Teaches the kids how to eat healthy but sneaks lollipops and chocolate bars for them without the mother seeing it. Could sit a whole day just watching Barbie and pay attention to the movies.

Charles - HOT DAD pt2. Would dress his kids in the cutest clothes, like they had just jumped out of a magazine. Would sign then up for horse riding and piano classes and subtly cry at every recital or competition because he’d be so proud and that’d be so pretty. Would now and then show up in a different car to pick his son at school so the other kids would go “WOOOOOW THAT’S SICK”.

Checo - Mexican daaaaaaad. Loud dad, kinda strict but super in love with his family. So proud of his children, would skip job to watch his son’s soccer match even if he stayed on the bench the whole time. Everything would be a valid reason for icecream and taco night. Support and validation would be his way to show love.

Lance - Super loving and caring. Would raise his kids by talking and explaining everything, never raising his voice, so they would understand the things and make their own decisions. EXTREMELY patient with everything, in an almost supernatural way. Would be so happy to throw family parties and tell some dad jokes. Family man!!!! Popular among the daycare moms because he looks so charming and is so polite, popular among the kids’ friends because he’s extremely good at EVERY SINGLE SPORT and is willing to teach everyone.

Daniel - That dad who plays soccer with his teenager son and his friends, wins and laughs at their faces. Gets the teens beer without the mother knowing and is a big time friend. The kind of dad that kids are proud to say they have. Had some trouble with the mom in the early years because he taught the kids how to cuss, but learned his lesson and has a key role in education, not just the fun part.

Ocon - Goes from “Look, that’s my daughter! You look amazing! Spin, ballerina” with tears of joy in his eyes to “Mess with my kid and I’ll kill you slowly and painfully” in 0.0000007 seconds. Would dress up as Prince Charming in Halloween and take his little girl’s hand on his and go trick or treating proudly. Would love everything about the kid and be so supportive even on the weird phases (do you want to go EMO? Let’s paint this hair purple! Dad’s got your back!)

Pierre - Treats his daughter like a baby even after she gets married. Is kinda confused about the parenting stuff in the beginning but figures it out as it goes. Takes A LOT of pictures of irrelevant stuff because he just cannot believe that a perfect little girl like that is his daughter. Spoils her a little too much but she grows up to be an amazing brave and kind woman, mirroring her dad.

Kvyat - Kind of dad that laughs when the son falls and runs to help if he starts crying. Wants the boy to play hockey or football or rugby but when he decides to play chess he goes to every match and cheers the hell out and screams his lungs out in support. Absolutely hates boybands but would (angrily) wear a Harry Styles headband to take his babygirl to a concert and to see her happy.

Magnussen - Punk dad that scares the shit out of his kids’ friends (and their dads too). Tries to be strict but melts whenever his daughter makes puppy eyes and asks for dessert before dinner. Jealous and overprotective, also scares the shit out of the daughter’s boyfriend, but tries to socialize with him because she asks to.

Grosjean - Silly dad material. Would try cooking some weird baby food because the specialists say it’s good for the growth process. Smiley pancakes for breakfast and would always tie the laces of his kid’s shoes, in a sign of how much pure affection he has in that heart. Extremely thoughtful about the well-being of his kids and how they’re doing in school and with friends. Super focused on not embarrassing the kids but now and then lets a “daddy loves you, munchkin” slip.

Kimi - Hates everything kid-related except his kids. School meetings? Hates. Parents reunion? Hates. Father’s day soccer match? HATES. Is the kind of dad that TRULY loves that ugly ass coffee and watercolor paint drawing just because his daughter made him. Has tons of folders to save every piece of art, letter, video or school project he ever received and now and then goes and look at them to feel happy. Values hardwork so much he watches 5 times the terrible theater play his son is presenting only because he rehearsed for three months.

Gio - Popular among the daughter’s friends because HE CAN BRAID HAIR!!!! Cooks the same pasta 4 times a week because is his son’s favorite. Chill and respectful dad, super likable and actually funny, but in a cool way. Cool dad. Helps his kids with school projects but by actually helping and not by making everything himself.

Nicky - Shows classic music and movies for the kids so they grow up jamming to the 80’s songs he himself grew up listening. Takes them on snowboard vacations and surf trips even though he looks like a boring dad. The family has a whole “just chilling” aura but he invests and values education - be it socially (being polite, resourceful, kind) or academically (focusing on school, college and learning in general).

George - No one doubted he would be a good dad but everyone got surprised when he turned out naturally gifted for it. He’s not too serious but also not too playful, he educates his children well but also has so much fun with them. Really into father and son long term activities, like building a car from scratch or fully remodeling the backyard garden.
