Salyalısı olduğum, deli divane boş bulduğum her an oynadığım ilk oyun metin2 idi. Öbdüm by <3

One thing I do like about the Overwatch lore is how it sounds so much like an old, disbanded MMO guild. Like yeah sometimes your guild's top DPS player becomes a ruthless, lone-wolf assassin in the PvP zones (Widowmaker). Sometimes that young kid who the guild basically adopted tries to bring it back (Winston). Some people cherish the guild memories (Reinhardt) and some run away from them (Ana).
Speaking from experience, this really is what post-guild life looks like. Kaplan did a good job visualizing it.

Stoops Issue 12 (DIY Issue) is now available!
So I've been doing this magazine for 9 years now and you would think I would have streamlined the process for releases, but being that it is still mostly a one person operation over here with no real industry support or ad dollars, I'm still just doing my best. Each issue hinges on whatever time and money I have to throw into it with hopes of breaking even but mostly coming to terms with the reality that I am spending what others may spend on mortgages, or cars, or alcoholism to put out a skateboarding publication for my own sanity, grasping for a sense of purpose, and for the few of you actually appreciate it. One day I will come to my senses and give it up, but for now, it is somehow still moving along with no drop in quality. And while I know this seems like a pity party of one over here, it is really my segue into the theme of the new issue. Issue 12 has a Do-It-Yourself theme where we explore the concept of creating spots out of nothing. Just as I am creating a magazine with my own resources, accepting the loss of funds to produce something that brings me joy, skateboarders have been doing this for years. Every spot built by skaters using their own hard earned money has no monetary pay off but brings them joy, as well as netting some happiness for others who get to enjoy using the product of that labor. This issue explores the DIY mentality in skateboarding and its importance.
You can order it here!

Some Oscar predictions for fun: in bold is what I think the Academy will pick. In italics is what I'd pick. If I leave italics off, I have no opinion or I don't think any of the nominees were that great. If I cross them out, I'm wondering why they were mentioned in the first place (Top Gun? Avatar? Really?).

Reblogged with the actual winners.
The only big surprise was Jamie Lee Curtis, but I guess they just had to give it to a white chick instead of Angela Bassett who has been shut out of a win for like, 30 years.
And Jimmy Kimmel can keep his day job. The Will Smith jokes were tasteless and too much tonight underlined all the racist/anti-Black sentiment out there (wasn't helped by that Entertainment Weekly set of anonymous interviews this past week).
But EEAAO making a clean sweep? Outstanding.

Soldier 76 and Ana, best friends
Alright, finally putting together a real post on this.
So, I've mentioned before that I see Jack and Ana as having a relationship like that of siblings. (For the record, Jeff Kaplan specifically referred to Jack's relationship with Ana as 'familial')
Specifically, though, I think of Ana as like Jack's big sister, while Jack is the little brother. Now, I know 'found family' has been twisted in the past, but hear me out.
To start, Jack is the youngest member of the original Strike Team. His age is technically unconfirmed, but the age range that's been given puts him as the youngest by at least a few years. Ana, meanwhile, is several years older than him.
It's not only their age, though; it's often been emphasized that Jack was the most optimistic and hopeful of the original Strike Team. He's always the one bringing the others together, making speeches about hope and similar things, and going on more 'daring' missions.
Before the 'sees teammate die' lines got taken out, this was what Ana said if the Jack on her team died:
Tumblr media
Ana has often wanted to protect others. This is expressed most literally when she puts on the Bastet mask:
Tumblr media
But also, the action of going on this whole vigilante journey with Jack at all seems to be at least partially motivated by the desire to keep Jack safe, or at least alive. She doesn't seem as convinced as Jack that the whole 'Reaper crusade' is going to be effective. But she goes along anyway - I think part of it is motivated by her desire to help others and to make up for some of the damage Overwatch caused, but it's pretty obvious to me that protecting Jack is a big part of it.
I don't think Ana is only interested in protecting Jack physically, though. Like many older siblings, I think Ana has a desire to protect Jack's more hopeful worldview. This always stood out to me:
Tumblr media
You can tell that she's sad that he's been so hurt.
You see her relief at any sign of Jack still being happy:
Tumblr media
And of course, the way she describes him in terms of being childish:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think Ana looks down on Jack or anything; they clearly think of each other as equals, which is why I say 'sister' rather than 'mother'. She lets him make his own decisions (even if she criticizes him when they're dumb ones). But wanting to protect his innocence and his positive worldview, along with wanting to protect him physically, while still being able to joke around with him and feel comfortable...it does feel like an older sister that's close with her younger brother.
Jack, of course, also cares very deeply about her, and feels safer around her than others. That's why he's willing to show her his more lighthearted personality, and also feels secure leaving his data with her, despite the secrets there:
Tumblr media
Ana and Jack will protect each other above all else. For better or worse. Also note that Jack has been mad at himself for not finding her for years:
Tumblr media
Even though he clearly did try everything he could:
Tumblr media
(Sorry about old cowboy name)
I just love them a whole lot.

Day 2 of Rapp vs Fowler...
Hiya folks! Sorry this took long but I've been tired and had a ton of stuff to do. But here's my court report from Day 2 of Rapp vs Fowler, taking place in the New York Federal courts in downtown Manhattan.
I got to the court building at 9am and unlike my first visit in May for the evidentiary hearing, the security area was crowded. I'm lucky that I got there early. So I give up my electronic devices and headed upstairs the court room 21B.
When I got there, the court door was still locked. Thee was a bunch of people waiting in the 21st floor hallway. As we all waited in the hall, Kevin and Evan got off the elevator. Kevin was wearing his dark suit and looked relaxed. I think they went back on the elevator. After that, Anthony Rapp and his husband Ken showed up (walked right past me) and the court room finally opened. The court officer actually split us up between jurors, press and public. The jurors went in first, the press sat in the middle rows and the public sat in the last row. There were 3 of us in the public group.
As I sat & got situated, Evan's wife Lucinda came in and Evan followed. Then the lawyers came in for all the parties. And Kevin entered. At the plaintiffs table, was Peter Saghir, Robert Steigman, another woman and Anthony Rapp. At the defense table was Jennifer Keller, Chase Scolnick, Kevin and Jay Barron. I was in the back row of the audience and I was surrounded by media people. As we waited for Judge Kaplan to enter, the media people chatted away. I overheard the conversations & I realize how absolutely BANAL these people are. God I was so annoyed. Judge Kaplan finally arrived, the jury was seated in the jury box and the trial started shortly before 10am. Plaintiff goes first, so they called their first witness and that person was Andrew Holtzman.
I'm not going to rehash the testimonies (you can read Ana Chevalier or Inner City Press for that) but I'll tell the gist of the content of their statements. First was Andrew Holtzman and he testified to the alleged sexual assault to him by Kevin in 1981 in an off-broadway theater office. Next was Christopher Denny, a friend of Rapp, who testified that Rapp told him about the alleged assault in the early 1990s. Next was Sean Snow via video deposition. He testified that Rapp told him about the assault in the early 90s also. But Snow's testimony was a real waste of time because he really didn't add anything. In fact, I fell asleep in the middle of the video. Next was Anthony Rapp. Rapp's testimony began with him telling us about his background and career. And then the judge stopped him and called the lunch break. It was about 12:50pm and we had to be back in the court room at 2:05pm.
Anyone can use the court building cafeteria except the jurors. They had lunch elsewhere. I didnt want to go through security again and lunch options in that area are a walk away, so I stayed. Pretty much both sides used the cafeteria. It was so funny to see all these people (Kevin, Rapp, the lawyers) all walk around each other but avoid each other in the cafe. This is one of the times that Kevin walked right next to me. I would've been a total fan girl any other time, but I didn't talk to him because this is a serious time in his life and he's probably under a lot of stress. He was eating lunch with his entire team at a corner of the cafe so I understood this is really business for all of them. Also, I was cognizant at the fact that we were in a court building not a red carpet and HE is the defendant in a case. So its not a fun occasion. I sat near the cash register so I saw everyone come in and out over the lunch break. Rapp and his team also sat somewhere in the cafe (dont know where because they were behind me). One of the cafe workers recognized Chase Scolnick and they had a short chat. So lunch was quiet but there was still much more court room battles ahead.
When we came back from lunch, Kaplan was late again. He came in around 2:35pm and apologized. He explained that there was an emergency application in another case that he needed to be approved (totally understandable as he was one of the few judges available on a Friday before a holiday weekend). So the trial commenced and Rapp re-took the stand. His testimony took his until the end of the day. What I will say about Rapp's testimony is that every juror was attentive when he spoke and it came off very believable. Now it could be truth (I know you all feel differently), however I hope that the jury also understands that Rapp is an actor and can manufacture emotions.

Reasons why blizzard is not in charge of canon
Exhibit A
Tumblr media
Look I could give you a list of blizzard continuously releasing stuff that contradicts itself (like Jack being surprised Ana is alive in the Old Soldiers comic but then saying he knew all along in Bastet or when Fading Glory said Jack joined the military right out of high school with the intentions of a "brief stint" but then telling Lena he joined because of the omnic crisis) or the writing team clearly forgetting the canon ages of their characters (like that picture where everyone's getting awarded medals and Winston and Lena's there but Jack, Ana, and Gabriel look way too young) but nothing fully encapsulates Blizzard not having their shit together than Jeff "fuck the canon" Kaplan.
Jeff does what he wants and says as he pleases. He couldn't keep anyone's ages straight and made it his life goal to contradict any released canon while trying to confirm ships before blizzard revoked access to his Twitter. If not even Michael Chu could keep control of Jeff then what hope did the rest of blizzard hold?
Blizzard has never been in charge of canon and never will be, canon is a nebulous concept to them that they should never get their hands on.
That I why I am in charge of canon now.

merhaba :3

Show Your Magic — Alıntı
Tumblr media
Her yer çok karanlıktı. Yasak Orman'daki ağaçların arasından fısıldayan rüzgâr Josephine'in yüzünü yalayıp geçiyordu.
Hogwarts'a ilk geldiği an. Ortak salonda Dorotha'yla birlikte Alastor Weasley'nin şakalarından birine güldükleri an. Kütüphanede gün batımını izledikleri an. Dorotha.
"Dorotha..." Josephine Dorotha'ya doğru koştu, dizlerinin üzerine çöküp elini tuttu. "Seni kaybedeceğimi sandım."
"Kaybetmedin." Dorotha'nın solgun yüzünde bir tebessüm belirdi. "Hayatımı kurtardın."
Yere birkaç damla gözyaşı düşene kadar Josephine ağladığının farkına varmadı. "Ben... ben seni korumak istedim," dedi sesi titreyerek. "Sensiz yaşayamazdım. Sen olmadan ne yapardım bilemiyorum. Bu bir içgüdü müydü bilmiyorum ama..." Dorotha'nın gözlerinin içine baktı. "Seni seviyorum.
"Hadi," dedi. "Seni Madam Pomfrey'e götüreyim."
Ay ışığı ve Josephine'in büyüsü yollarını aydınlatırken birlikte Hogwarts'a doğru yürüdüler. Birkaç dakika boyunca, şu dünyada sadece ikisi vardı.
