an: this was the top choice in the poll so far. I've been anxious to write so we knocked this off the list first lol. enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Are you alright, Major?”
They’d just arrived at a new station. It smelled like sweat and fear. Men streamed throught the doors like a school of fish. Their deep voices shook the brick walls as their conversations bellowed throughout the building. Dozens of men struggled to keep their composure. He was one of them.
He was overwhelmed. Tired. Desparate. His clothes felt tight against his body. The scent of gasoline and fumes clung to his vest. His hat damp and chilled against his forehead. His shoes were coated in black soot.
John’s eyes caught the telephone in the corner of the station. It was secluded from the rest of the quarters, in a corner, protected by a frosted glass divider. John's shoes grazed the dirty floor as he strode purposefully towards the telephone.
“M’fine. Head in and get your rest. Long day in the morning.” He didn’t know how he was able to make out coherent sentences. Gale stepped in, noticing his friend’s disheveled state and guided the men to the resting quarters.
John’s shoes kissed the dirty floor as he stood long strides to the telephone. He shrugged off his backpack and slid it by his feet. His hands trembled as he plucked the phone off the hook and typed in the number he had engraved in his heart.
It rang. And rang. And rang. His heartbeat was in his ears. His nails scratched as the black paint around the phone as he succumbed to his anxiety. He sent a silent prayer to God above.
Then he heard it. “Hello?” John’s forehead tapped the frosted glass as he rested against it. Relief washed over him like a tidal wave. He’d never been particularly sensitive, but he was overwhelmed with emotion, good and bad, and hearing her sweet voice made his eyes well with tears.
The words were stuck in his throat and all he could release was a heavy sigh. That seemed to be enough for her to identify the caller. “Johnny?”
He shut his eyes. A lone tear fell from his eye. “Hey, Rosie.”
Amelia let out a soft cry. “Oh, thank God! I-I thought something happened to you; I hadn’t heard from you in weeks. Are you okay, where are you now? Is Gale alright, when are you coming…” His first instinct was to cut her rambling short, but the sound of her voice was the choir-like song his soul ached to hear.
He’d gone three weeks without hearing her voice. It was the most tortuous three weeks of his life. For 21 days, he survived by remembering the last words she said before they hung up, Whatever you do, do not die on me, do you understand? I love you, John. I love you. I love you. I love you. It kept his heart beating.
A small smile tugged on his lips. “I’m okay, baby, I promise. Things got a little rough; didn’t stay in one place too long. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“I’m just happy to hear your voice…are you okay?”
His stomach churned at her question. A feeling of despair threatened to creep upon him. Thirty men lost. A plane in the middle of the ocean. An uneasy stomach and even more uneasy mental state. His head pounded, his body shook with unwanted adrenaline, and his hands craved the feeling of her hot skin. He was not okay.
“No,” he replied honestly, rubbing his eye with the stump of his palm. “I’m not okay but I will be. Especially because I get to talk to my favorite girl. Tell me about your day..”
He heard her heavy sigh. “Deflection won’t rid you of what you’re feeling.”
“Talking about it won’t do too much good, either. It’s…it’s hard, Rose. I just.” John’s jaw clenched as he struggled to articulate what he felt. “I just can’t talk about it right now, Amelia. If I do, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep it together.”
Silence stretched on, interrupted only by the sound of her shuffling on the other end. She was probably sitting at the edge of her bed. He imagined her, looking pretty in her long-sleeved pajamas and satin scarf, with a blanket tucked under her chin.
“Then how about this,” she started. “You make it home in one piece to tell me about it later, yeah?”
“Always making demands,” John laughed. The first genuine sound of joy he’d made all day. And it made her smile. So wide that her cheeks were sore and her dimples made an appearance. “But you’ve got a deal.” He readied himself to speak again, but a tap on his shoulder interrupted him.
Gale. Meeting with the CO in five minutes, he mouthed. John nodded. He ran a hand through his dirty hair. “Darlin’, I’ve got a meeting in five minutes; I’m sorry.  If I don’t call in the morning, know I love you, alright?”
“I know. I love you, too. Don’t apologize. Just make it back to me.”
“Always.”

In a dimly lit room, you sat at a shabby old desk belonging to your predecessor. The room seemed cramped and suffocating, as if the bare walls were getting closer and closer the longer you stayed there in your chair. You stared at the screen of an overloaded old computer, your eyes wide open and your forehead furrowed thoughtfull, the table littered with all the papers from a new case, scattered in a chaotic arrangement while the coffee in the cup next to it has long since become cold, ignored and forgotten.
Your hands clinging to the mouse, sweaty and shaking, the cursor on the screen frantically darting over various tabs and icons as you desperately tried to get anything done amid the pressure, stress and sleepless nights of the last few weeks. Your breathing was heavy and shallow, but your chest was still falling quickly and in an irregular rhythm. The air around you thick and the pressure within it palpable, as if invisible hands were constricting your throat.
"Hey, y/n. Are you okay?" A bright, feminine voice asked, her fitting figure standing in front of your desk. Your eyelids flickered as you lifted your head, the thoughts in your head swirling wildly as you tried to keep control of them and yourself. But the only thing you wanted at that moment was to go back to the blade and relieve yourself, even though you had already been clean for three months and had promised yourself never to fall back into this addiction.
"Y-yeah, everything is fine," you lied in a broken and raspy voice, the desk lamp next to you flickering dimly as the room filled with a muffled, monotone sound that seemed to penetrate through your ears and lodge in your head. "Are you sure? You look pale and you are sweating. Do you have a fever?"
The pressure inside you grew with your colleague's questioning, heavy like an unbearable weight that rested on your shoulders and pulled you further and further to the ground. Every second that the blonde's eyes were on you seemed like an eternity, and the pressure inside, mixed with a deep panic, felt like a bubbling volcano, ready to erupt and consume everything around you. "You know what? I feel sick. I am going to go home and rest."
ᕚ---ᕘ
As soon as you got home, you quickly ran to the bathroom and looked for a brand new disposable razor, which you had disassembled in seconds. The world around you blurred into a diffuse mist of colors and shadows as you sat down on the bed and violently tore your jacket down. Your heartbeat was pounding in your ears and your gaze was blank, fixated on the cold silver between your fingers. Your hands shook as you placed the blade spasmodically against your thin skin, fighting the inner storm to hurt yourself and destroy the promise you gave Amelia.
There was an ominous silence around you, broken only by the dull thumping of your own pulse. Your body was heavy, bound by an invisible chain, your legs rooted to the ground. Your face marked by fear and desperation, but also relief as you pulled the blade through and a thin line of blood appeared on the cut. It helped you release the pressure you were holding inside, pouring out the stress of the days.
It was a moment of liberation that no one understood. Another cut brought you repeated relief and at the feeling of burning and escaping emotions, you closed your eyes as you tilted your head back and took a deep breath. In your trance, you didn't even hear how the front door closed and your girlfriend checked on you in every room. "Y/n? My love, where are you?" Amelia called but you did not hear her, the environment around you seemed unreal and vague.
Amelia had come home after your colleague called her and told her about the incident that had happened at work. She was worried that you really were not feeling well, leaving you go home alone in case something happened to you, so to be on the safe side she had called the emergency contact number listed in your file to make sure you were not alone and someone could look after you when you got home. "Elizabeth called me and said that you-" she stopped perplexed in her tracks, her jaw hanging low as she spotted you, bloody razor just inches away from your wrist.
Close to it, there were cuts, angry red blood dripping down onto your thigh. "Hey, what are you doing there? Put that down, please" she demanded softly, mostly out of fright and shock. You looked down at the ground, refusing to meet her gaze as she dropped her bag on the floor and immediately made her way to the bathroom to grab some bandages. Amelia returned with a small, wet rag, which she gently placed over your wrist and pressed firmly onto it. There was not much bleeding, she did not have to worry about serious injuries, however tears threatened to fall. The brunette was scared- terrified for you.
"Why?" she asked sniffling, not showing the slightest bit of anger in her voice. You looked up nervously, your shiny and relieved eyes meeting her sad hazel brown ones. She ran her fingers delicately through your strands of hair before her hand came to rest on your cheek, her thumb lightly stroking your cheekbone. "You were clean. Why did you do that, darling?"
„I just needed to escape the harsh and bleak reality. Life recently got so rough and I felt like I may burst,“ you began to speak and she pulled you into her chest by the back of your head. Amelia kissed your hair, ran her hand through it and gently rocked you from left to right. Her chin rested on your skull, her eyes closed to calm her racing heart. She was not mad at you, never could be. She herself knew what it was like to fight an addiction; it took her several attempts to be sober for a good three years. "I am sorry, Am."
"It is okay. Please only answer one question," you nodded your head, still hidden in her chest and held by her. "If you could kill yourself right now, would you?" You quickly jumped and tore yourself away from her, your eyes wide at the shocking question. Placing your hands on her thighs, you gently rubbed her knees and looked deep into her eyes. "No, because suicide means that you have given up on yourself. And I am not going to do that. I just had to let the pressure go because I did not see any other option."

Even though Amelia is oftentimes busy with her work, being the self proclaimed best neurosurgeon, she still makes time for her girlfriend, who unlike her, doesn’t have such a mess of a schedule. However, she just came to the realization that date nights haven’t happened in a while. She really hasn’t properly seen Y/N in a while.
Which is why, after arriving back home, Amelia’s first mission is to find Y/N. She goes up the stairs, towards their shared bedroom, still wearing her scrubs. She frowns as she steps into the room. No one is there. It’s dark and the bed is messy, which indicates Y/N has been there recently.
The sound of water hits her ears. Amelia knocks on the door opposite of their bedroom, trying to open it, but it’s mocked. “Y/N?” She calls out, growing worried at the silence coming from the other side. “Are you okay in there?” There’s slight humor to her voice, but it’s only there to mask her anxiety.
A quiet yeah comes from the other side of the door, but it doesn’t ease Amelia.
“You think you could open the door for me?” It takes a while, but eventually Amelia can hear the soft clink of the lock. She opens the door carefully, only peeking her head in first. When she sees fully clothes Y/N sitting under the running shower, she steps in the room fully, closing the door behind her so the warmth of the water wouldn’t escape. “What are you doing?” She has a gentle smile on her face as she kneels near Y/N. She recognizes the look in her eyes.
“I think I’m getting sick.” She whispers. Water droplets are getting all over her eyes and mouth, but she doesn’t seem to care.
“Sick?” Amelia shuts the shower off, getting no reaction from Y/N. She sets the back of her hand to her girlfriend’s wet forehead. “You don’t feel warm.” She states quietly.
Y/N hums. Her hands are hidden in the sleeves of the hoodie she’s wearing. It’s oversized, one of her favorites, mostly because it’s technically Amelia’s hoodie. Her eyes are unfocused, so she rarely blinks, only when water slides over her eyes.
“Maybe getting out of the wet clothes would help?” Amelia’s tone makes the sentence sound like a question, but it’s more of a request, as she is already helping Y/N up before she has a chance to answer. She leads her into the bedroom, not caring about the trail of water dripping to the floors. “I’m going to get you some clothes, okay?”
Amelia starts looking through their wardrobe, picking the coziest looking clothes for the both of them. She helps Y/N out of the wet clothes and into the clean ones before she changes out of her scrubs.
“Have you eaten today?” She’s pretty sure she already knows the answer, and it worries her, since she had a ten hour shift today. Y/N shakes her head, confirming Amelia’s fears. “Okay, I’m going to order us some food.”
After leading Y/N to the bed, she picks up her phone and orders the food that’ll arrive to their house the quickest. She sets her phone back down, making sure it’s not silenced so she’ll hear when their food arrives.
She sits down next to Y/N, leaning her bad against the backboard, she pulls Y/N’s back into her chest. “Can you tell me how you’re feeling?” Amelia pulls the covers over them before wrapping her arms around Y/N.
She sighs, slowly leaning the side of her head against Amelia’s. “I don’t know.” She whispers, her voice slightly wobbly. “I don’t feel anything but I’m feeling everything at the same time. It’s like I’m stuck in a hole and I can’t scream for help.” Taking a shaky breath, her voice turns almost too quiet for Amelia to hear, “it feels like it doesn’t matter if I’m dead or alive.”
“Maybe we could go meet up with a psychotherapist together tomorrow?”
Y/N hesitates. Asking for, or receiving help has never been something she can do easily. “I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.”
“But it is.” Amelia states in a way that leaves no room for arguments. “Mental health needs to be always taken seriously.”
Emotions mull through Y/N’s body. She feels guilty and bad for letting Amelia see, for making her worry, that’s not what she wants. She feels like going to psychotherapy would mame it worse, it’d solidify the fact there’s something wrong with her.
Amelia’s embrace turns tighter, bringing Y/N back to the present. Her hands have started shaking, she didn’t notice. “You don’t have to decide now.” Amelia whispers into her ear. “We’ll think and talk about later, okay?” Y/N nods, letting herself relax for now as she lays on her girlfriend, and tries to forget her worries.

"Alright, you said your brother was coming to pick you up?" I asked, helping Amelia gather her things before swinging her backpack onto her shoulder.
"Sort of. He's not really my brother, but he acts like one," she said.
"Hm. Alright..."
I didn't push for more details as we headed out of the library together. I'd been tutoring Amelia for a few months now, and we'd quickly become good friends even though I was a lot older than her. She was my favorite student I'd had to date, and I had to admit, I was a little jealous that someone else who wasn't related to her had grabbed the honorary sibling title before me.
Still, I was happy she was so happy. Her mom usually picked her up, and when her mom wasn't free her now-stepdad rolled up on his motorcycle, much to Amelia's excitement. Her mom and now-official step-dad had recently gotten married, and were currently on their honeymoon. Which left the sort-of brother to pick her up.
"You know, it's not gonna be much longer before you get your license," I mused, giving Amelia an exaggerated grin. "Pretty soon you're going to be driving yourself to and from school and tutoring and whatever else."
"Yeah, and I'm gonna steal Mav's motorcycle to do it."
"Atta girl!"
We laughed and shared a high five as we walked down the library steps. A tall, handsome man with aviators and a mustache waited, his arms crossed as he leaned against a car I recognized as Penny's Porsche.
"Hey! What are you doing with my mom's car?" Amelia called as we approached him. Apparently, this was the sort-of older brother.
"It's my payment for babysitting you while Mav and your mom are gone," he called back. "I get to drive the Porsche and the bike."
"Well that's dumb. You could've gotten cash. Put it towards buying your own bike."
He just scoffed and rolled his eyes, then looked to me as Amelia and I came to a stop in front of him. He gave me a charming smile and offered his hand for a shake.
"Rooster," he said as I took his hand.
"Y/N," I replied. "It's nice to meet you."
"You too. All this kid does is talk you up. Honestly, I've been getting a little jealous."
I smiled. "Well, don't worry, because she's been saying nothing but good things about you, too. I was actually feeling a little jealous myself."
"Well, cheers to that," he said with another gorgeous smile and a wink. We held each others' stares for a few beats, and I could feel my face heating up. We both snapped out of it when Amelia loudly cleared her throat.
"Let's go, Rooster. I'm hungry and I have stuff to do."
"Alright, alright, relax. We're going." He looked back at me again. "It was nice meeting you, Y/N."
"You too, Rooster. Maybe I'll see you around."
"Maybe you will."
He shot me one last grin as he walked around to the driver's side of the car, Amelia climbing into the passenger's side. She waved at me out the window as the pair pulled away, and I watched them disappear down the road.
I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then forced myself to put Rooster out of my mind. I had other things to do today besides be distracted by Amelia's handsome sort-of older brother.
************
Amelia's POV
"You think she's cute, don't you?" I asked, poking Rooster in the side as he pulled away from the library where we'd left Y/N.
"What? Amelia, come on."
I snorted. "If that's the best response you've got then you must really have a thing for her."
"I do not have a thing for her. What do you know, anyway? Aren't you like twelve?"
"I'm fifteen!"
"Same difference."
I scowled at him, but he just grinned. I huffed and crossed my arms, staring out the window instead of at Rooster. If he was going to be an idiot about it, then I was going to take matters into my own hands.
Maybe I even would've tried to loop him in if he hadn't called me twelve.
****************
Y/N's POV
I wandered into the bar owned by Amelia's mom a few weeks later, tentatively putting my head through the door first before stepping all the way inside. Amelia had asked me to do our tutoring session here today, before the bar opened, since she was apparently going sailing with her mom right after our lesson.
"Y/N!" Amelia called happily, waving me over from the far side of the bar. I smiled and walked to meet her, much more confident now that I knew I hadn't accidentally wandered in somewhere I wasn't supposed to go.
"Hey, Amelia. How's it going? This place looks great."
"Thanks," she said. "I'll tell my mom you said so."
"Where is she, by the way?"
"She's working on the boat with Mav. We're all going to sail it over to the shop later, since it needs some repairs and Maverick doesn't know how to fix boats."
"Isn't he in the navy?"
"That's what my mom always says."
We shared a laugh as I sat down next to Amelia. I unloaded all the books from my bag, setting them out in front of us, then opened the first one.
"Alright, let's get started..."
We worked for our usual hour, with Maverick and Penny breezing through a few times to say hi. I couldn't stop myself from hoping Rooster might make an appearance, but he didn't. I tried to keep myself from feeling too disappointed.
We'd seen each other a few times now, since that first meeting. Usually in the context of him picking up Amelia. Every time I saw him, my heart beat a little faster, and although we didn't really have long conversations, they were good ones. I found myself thinking about him a lot more often than I wanted to admit.
Finally, at the end of the hour, I wrapped up the lesson and Amelia and I put away all the notes and notebooks. Penny and Maverick wandered back in, both of them ready to get on the boat with Amelia now that she was free.
"I'll be right down," Amelia told her parents. "Just need to put my books away."
"Alright. We'll see you down there," said Maverick, giving me a wave as he went. Penny smiled and kissed Amelia on the head, ruffling her hair as she pulled away.
"Thanks for coming here today, Y/N," she said. "It's always a pleasure to have you around."
"It's a pleasure to be around," I replied with a smile. "I'm sure it's no secret, but I absolutely adore Amelia. She's one heck of a good kid."
"She sure is." Penny smiled fondly at her daughter, then took a few backwards steps to follow Maverick down to the boat. "We'll see you soon I'm sure, Y/N."
I smiled and waved as she went, and Amelia struggled to shove the rest of her books into her bag.
"Do you want help with that?" I asked. She huffed, tried for another minute, then shoved it towards me.
"Yes please."
I smiled and started working on the bag. Amelia shifted anxiously from foot to foot while she waited, and I could tell she was itching to get out of here and join her parents on the boat.
"You want me to put these away for you somewhere?" I asked. "If it's close, I can wrap this up and you can go help your parents."
"Yes please! Thank you so much! They go in the back closet, on the top shelf. I'll take them home later tonight, when we all get back."
"Sounds good. Have a fun trip over, and try to teach Mr. Navy something about boats while you're out there, alright?"
"Oh please," said Amelia. "He's hopeless."
I chuckled as she marched out of the room in a whirlwind. Finally, I managed to get the last of the books into the bag. I headed for the closet Amelia had pointed towards, carefully maneuvering around the crates and boxes towards the shelving in the back. I'd just reached up to put the bag on the top shelf when I heard a commotion behind me.
"Come on, Rooster, it'll just take a second!"
"Amelia, what the hell are you- Hey!"
I whirled around to find Rooster stumbling through the closet door. A look at the doorway showed Amelia standing there, apparently after shoving him, a massive grin on her face.
"Don't waste this opportunity by being stupid," she cheerfully instructed him. I started to ask what the hell she was doing, but before I could, she slammed the closet door on us. I heard the click of a lock.
A second later, Rooster was at the door, hammering at it with one fist while he tried the doorknob with the other. No luck.
"Amelia! Amelia, you get back here and open this door right now!" he yelled. As expected, he got no response.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked, walking over to Rooster. He grimaced, looked at me, then turned back to the door.
"I don't know," he muttered. "Some kind of dumb prank, probably."
I put a hand on my hip and raised an eyebrow.
"Since when does Amelia pull dumb pranks?"
Rooster sighed and lowered his head before finally taking a step away from the door and looking at me. To my surprise, he had a faint blush on his neck.
"She's trying to mess with me," he finally said, running a hand through his hair. "She keeps insisting that I have a thing for you, and I called her a twelve-year-old, so... I guess this is her payback."
"Oh."
We stood there for a few beats, avoiding looking at each other, and then I took a deep breath.
"Was she right? Do you have a thing for me?" I physically cringed at the awkwardness of the question, but I had to know. Rooster's blush deepend.
"I mean, I..." he cleared his throat and fidgeted. "I definitely think you're... cute."
He immediately scrunched up his face like he was kicking himself for the words that had just come out of his mouth. I could relate.
"Well..." I managed. "I, uh... I think you're cute, too."
His head snapped up to look at me, disbelief and hope written all over his face. I gave him a tentative smile.
"You do?" I nodded. He laughed and smiled, the tension easing out of his body. I felt the tension washing out of the room. "God, look at us. We're fully grown adults stumbling over admitting a crush for each other in a closet like it's middle school. Now who's twelve?"
"I feel like Amelia was hoping we'd be at exactly this point when she shoved you in here," I agreed. He nodded, then took a deep breath.
"So... as much as I hated being called out for it, I actually have had a thing for you since that first day we met. You're smart, you're funny, you're frankly gorgeous... what more could a guy ask for?"
I smiled at the floor, trying not to combust on the spot from the compliments.
"I feel the same way," I said. After a beat, I brought myself to meet Rooster's eyes again. "You're hysterical, and I love watching how you are with Amelia. And I almost tripped down the steps you were so handsome when I first walked out of the library."
He laughed good-naturedly, a smile staying on his face as he took a few steps towards me.
"So does this mean if I ask you on a date, you'll say yes?"
"Mmm, I don't know. Give it a try and let's find out."
He grinned and took a few more steps towards me. He stopped just a few inches from me, then put his arm against the wall next to my head and leaned against it. My heart sped up.
"Y/N, would you like to go on a date with me? Like as soon as we get out of this damn closet?"
"Absolutely," I said, unable to keep a massive smile off my face. He smiled too, then pushed off the wall and headed back to the door.
"Alright, I'm getting us out of here. And then we can go grab a coffee from a nice place I know, if that sounds good?"
"That sounds great."
He shot me another smile, and my heart melted. Then, he turned to the door with determination. I could see he was about to break it down, so I quickly stepped in.
"I think I might have an easier solution," I said. He watched carefully as I took Amelia's backpack off the shelf and dug through it until I found a few spare bobby pins. I bent them into long, straight-ish tools, then moved back to the door.
"Are you about to pick the lock with bobby pins?" asked Rooster. I hummed in confirmation. "That is so badass. And so hot."
I laughed and shot him a smile over my shoulder, then went back to working on the door. I hadn't practiced my lock-picking skills since I'd been obsessed with spy novels in college, so it took me a little longer than I would've liked, but eventually the lock clicked open.
"You. Are. Amazing," said Rooster as I straightened and turned to him with a grin.
"Thank you. I try my best. Now let's go get that coffee, shall we?"
I held out a hand, and Rooster didn't hesitate before taking it. He pulled me closer to him as we stepped out of the closet and headed for the doors of the bar, and I happily leaned into him.
Amelia was never going to let it go that she was right and that she technically deserved the credit for getting us together. I quickly decided I didn't care, though. I had a good feeling that Rooster would be worth it.

Enchanted to meet you (Paul Lahote X OC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Shhh.” Amelia shushed her little sister Evelyn as she tip-toed down the staircase leading to the foyer. Both girls stopped before the last step, hiding behind the wall which separated them from their expected guest—well their parents expected guests.
Amelia and Evelyn were the two daughters of head of the north American coven. Well, their mother was head of the coven, their father was Fae; a simple mythical creature known mainly for their connection with nature and healing magic. It was common for Fae and witches to mingle amongst one another, as witches channeled the powers of nature for their spells and potions; much like the Fae. Procreation between the two species was a special rarity, most Fae never made romantic or sexual connections as there was no real need. You see, Fae is not made through conventional means.
If you’ve ever been out in nature, in a secluded spot where it almost seems untouched by humanity, you feel the sudden sense of calmness rushing over you. The sun seems to illuminate the world around you in a blanket of warmth and bliss, and it feels as if in that moment everything is perfect; that means a Fae was probably just born near you. The Fae believes that mother nature carefully crafts each and every Fae, their bodies created from the earth itself, and then she releases them to live their lives and protect her earth. Other species have different theories on how the Fae came to be, but no one can say with complete certainty.
This seeming species wide asexuality is why it causes everyone a shock when a Fae bares a child physically, and to do so with not only a witch but one of the most powerful witches in existence? The leader of the North American Coven? Now that creates two very interesting girls.
Amelia Boleyn is an 18-year-old halfling, those halves being part witch and Fae. She stands on the shorter side, just under 5’3—however if anyone ever called her anything less than 5’3 she’d make sure to put them in their place. She cropped her hair just above her shoulders with some rusty kitchen scissors during a slightly tipsy night she shared with her sister. Her skin was naturally on the tanner side, resembling her father’s coloring of curly dark hair and tan skin, more so than her mother’s red hair, pale skin, and green eyes. She came into her powers when she was 13 years of age, although she showed much promise with her witchcraft already being a fourth level spell caster. She much preferred dabbling in the simple powers of her father, a stereotypical daddy’s girl. She would much rather go out into the woods, lay in a field, and connect with nature rather than sit at home and stare at old grimoires.
Her sister Evelyn, however, is the opposite. She is 16 and also a halfling, her skin only a shade or two darker than her mothers, she also had her mother’s straight auburn hair and sparkling green eyes. She was also one who could spend hours sitting in her room, reading her ancestors grimoires and attempting to learn to cast new and more advanced spells, already dabbling the same level as her older sisters, but severely struggling with any Fae related magic.
The two girls are very possibly going to become two of the strongest women alive, and here they were huddled together behind a flimsy wooden wall, straining to eavesdrop on their parents’ conversation. Amelia and Evelyn both shared worried looks as they heard multiple heavy footsteps walking into the house. Their father Aeon had told them of the recent killings of magic folk in the area, forbidding them from going out alone even for the most insignificant of tasks. Whoever was responsible for the killings was targeting young adults and teens, and although they have yet to kill a Fae child or witch child, the matter needed to be dealt with.
As far as anyone could tell, going off the bodies of the victims, the killer was a vampire. Incredibly fast, and efficient killers, but not known to go after other supernatural’s. Something was brewing, and Jenny and Aeon Boleyn had made the decision to call in the only supernatural’s who were properly equipped to deal with a vampire, wolf shifters.
Amelia and Evelyn were fascinated when their father explained who was coming, and why they had to keep their distance. The northwestern shifters were notorious for being big, burly brutes with wicked tempers. Tales of the smallest disagreement turning into massive fights involving clashing canines spread like wildfire when they seemingly reappeared a few years back after being presumed extinct. To the girls, however, this made them a group of very fascinating subjects to poke and prod at—youthful stupidity mixed with curiosity.
Amelia leaned closer to the edge of doorway as she heard a somehow quiet, yet booming voice start to speak. “Aeon it’s been too long.” A small pause filled with the sound of scuffing shoes and a door closing, “I only wish this meeting was under better circumstances.” The same voice spoke again, sounding sympathetic.
“It’s so nice to see you, Sam.” Their mother’s sweet voice greeted, “It’s so nice to see all of you. Though, I do see a few new faces. Please everyone come inside and sit down I’m sure your journey has been very tiring.” Multiple deep voices muttered hellos, and then heavy footsteps followed the woman into the small living room.
Most of the men opted to sit on the grown, allowing Sam their pack alpha to sit on the couch with Jen and Aeon. They all trusted Sam when he said the couple could be trusted, perhaps it was the wolf in them that made them skeptical of the unknown but regardless of the reason, no one but Sam wanted to be too close to the two.
The two girls waited on the stairs for a few minutes, trying to strain and hear what was being said, but all they could pick up on was the low mumbling of conversation. “You think we should try to get closer?” Evelyn whispered into her older sister’s ear, her heart thrumming quickly with excitement.
Amelia considered for a moment, weighing if the risk of getting caught was worth satiating her curiosity, in the end the latter won. “Yes, but don’t make any noise. I so do not want to hear the lecture from mom and dad if they catch us snooping.”
Unbeknownst to the pair, the shifters had exceptional hearing and all of them had picked up on the quiet encounter a few yards away. Sam simply ignored the two girls, seeing no real threat in them eavesdropping, Quill, Embry, Seth, Collin, Brady, and Paul all shared sly smirks to one another—not so subtly glancing at the small door way as gentle and slow footstep inched forward.
“You should take a peek—see what they look like! “Evelyn urged faintly, Nudging her sister with her arm. “Why me? So, I’m the one who gets caught?” Amelia shot a pointed glare towards her younger, yet taller sister. “Yes! Now look, Mom said werewolves were usually all ruggedly handsome! Maybe the same applies for shifters.” Evelyn had a wicked smirk on her mouth as she envisioned a group of big burly men fresh for the pickings waiting in her living room—those teenage hormones surging through her body at the prospect.
“That’s gross, Eve.” Amelia sighed, rolling her eyes, “But I’ll do it… not because you said they were hot though.” The two sisters shared a mischievous look together, before Amelia crouched down to knee level and carefully leaned past the doorway, bracing herself on the wall so as not to fall and peering into the living room.
A not so silent profanity left her lips as her eyes met six other pairs of eyes looking directly back at her. In her shock her grip slipped on the door frame, and she tumbled into full view of everyone—including her parents. Evelyn silently died of laughter still hidden behind the wall, before quickly making her escape back up the stairs, abandoning her sister to the wolves.
“Uh—Hi!” Amelia chirper, looking around at the men in her living room, very purposely not making eye contact with her parents. “I just… uhm” Evelyn quickly looked around the floor around her, a somewhat stupid plan popping her head, but hell it was her only idea. She reached forward and grabbed a lost pen from the floor and held it up swinging it in the air. “Was just lookin for this!” As her eyes travelled back up to the unknown men, the pen almost fell from her hands.
Amelia thought it was just due to the surprise of meeting eyes with—in her opinion—the most attractive man in the room. Paul, however, felt as if he was cemented in his place, sitting on an old Abrash rug in a run-down but quaint little cottage, looking into a pair of beautiful dark eyes. A gentle click in his brain, and he knew what this feeling was, this feeling as if he had just taken off a filter from his eyes and he was finally seeing clearly. Her confused face tempting him to come closer, and to never leave. His imprint.
Everyone but Amelia could feel the shift in the air, Jen Boleyn silently screaming in her head as it dawned on her. Her precious eldest daughter being imprinted upon by a shifter? A breed who was made to kill and slaughter their enemies without a moment of remorse, she opened her mouth to speak but no words would leave her lips.
Amelia looked around at all the shocked and speechless faces, assuming this was caused solely by her interruption, her face reddened, and she quickly stood up, ignoring the slight ache in her hips where she landed. “I’m just going to go, it was nice—uh—meeting all of you!” She smiled before quickly making her exit and running up the stairs.
Amelia threw herself into her room and hopped up onto her bed. She knew she was in for it but she silently prayed to mother nature that her parents wouldn’t be too pissed about the interruption—a pointless prayer and she knew it. Remaining under her covers she shimmied off her jeans and bra and turned over towards her window. Listening to the now significantly louder voices downstairs speak and watching the pale blue clouds pass by the full moon outside. She laid there for what felt like hours, but in reality, was only thirty minutes, waiting for her parents’ lecture to come—but it never did. Instead, she was slowly lulled into one of the deepest slumbers she had in a very long time, strangely plagued by the sight of those deep brown eyes of one of the very handsome but strange young man.

Hi hi ! I was wondering if you would do Amelia Shepherd x fem reader fic where R is the third twisted sister to Cristina and Mer, Amelia and reader have been in a relationship in secret for a while because they afraid of Mer’s reaction. They finally tell her and she gets protective of R but at the end she is very supportive and protects them against a patient’s hate comment? Xoxo
You’re dating my sister?
Summary: see req above!
Pairings: Amelia Shepherd x fem!reader
fluff, slight angst, homophobia, use of a homophobic slur
Word Count: 1.04k
NOT PROOFREAD
SET WHEN MEREDITH DIDNT LIKE AMELIA MUCH IN THE BEGINNING
Reader pov:
One year. One whole year me and Amelia have been dating for. It’s crazy how fast time feels when you’re in love, I do t know what I’d do without her. The only issue is my best friends, Cristina and Metrdith. Not that I’m afraid of their answer, well. I’m not staid if Cristina’s answer.
Meredith’s husband happens to be my girlfriend brother. It’s a minor detail, and you know, Meredith isn’t the biggest fan of said sister. Me and ames have talked it over and we’re going to tell people soon, but leave Mer till last, what could go wrong right?
Cristina went wrong.
“Hey! Cristina!” I whisper yelled across the nurses station.
“If you have another twisted-sisters-almost-died-or-had-a-traumatic-event drama to tell me save it for after my surgery. Please.” She sighed out.
“No it’s not that I have to tell you something. But you can not, and I mean can not, tell mer.“ I insist
“Dann what did you do screw her sister or something?”
I stay silent at this and her eyes go wide. “Oh. My. God. No you did not.”
I nod my head profusely and respond “We’ve been dating for a year Cristina. Me and Amelia, what am I supposed to tell her?!” I start to panic just thinking about all the different ways this could go wrong.
“Ohh I have no idea! Good luck, you’re gunna need it, oh and tell me when you’re telling her so I can watch.” I rolled my eyes as she walked away from me towards the OR to scrub in.
I walk to my patients room pondering ways to tell mer about me and Amelia, it was going to be a long day.
Amelia pov:
“Derek! Come here!” I call out to him across the neuro floor.
“What do you need I’ve got a surgery with Yang in like, 2 minutes?” He says looking bored before I even start talking.
“Hey you could at least act interest in what I’m about to say, oh and don’t tell mer yet. Please.” His interest was piqued at this so he gave me a look as if to say ‘keep going you’ve got me hooked’ so I continued “Me and y/n have been dating for a year, and we are o my just telling people ad were scared how mer will react because she’s not exactly my biggest fan as of right now and her and y/n/n, and Cristina obviously, are like twisted sisters or whatever.” I took a breather after sayibg all that and my brother just looked like he wanted to laugh in my face.
“Well, good luck!” He smiled and walked off to the OR.
Well shit.
Reader pov:
I walk into my patients room still deep in thought when he speaks up, he’s fairly old, around 70-ish and was in for a broken hip. “You seemed pretty serious with whatever you were talking about back there and now I don’t even get a hello? Something’s gotta be on your mind Doctor.” He gave me a knowing smirk as I open my mouth yet no words come out and let out and exasperated sigh.
“Ah you know, trouble in paradise, well, paradise’s surroundings at least.” I say trying to be as brief as possible.
“Happens to the best of us kid.” He seemed like a genuinely nice guy and to be honest I needed a break so instead of getting a nurse to check his vitals I decided I was going to do them, although it seemed someone else had the same idea.
“Hey y/n/n what are you doing here?” I hear a voice I know all too well say from behind me.
“Hi Ames, just doing Mr Davison’s vitals, are you okay?” I say giving her a smile.
“Funny I was just coming to do the same thing.” she walked beside me and trailed her hand lightly over my lower back which didn’t go unnoticed by Mr Davison.
“Your ‘paradise’ is a she? Ugh just another dyke, exactly what we need!” I stare at him shocked, as does Amelia. His sudden outburst seemed to pull some attention from outside and the one person that I didn’t want to walked in, walked in.
“Is everything okay in here?” Meredith asked.
“No get these people away from me! Horrible people you lgqbt whatever people!” He flailed his arms about like a toddler as he was ranting and raving. Immediately Meredith jumped to our defence.
“Excuse you? Who do you think you’re talking to? I have you know you’ve just made and enemy out of the best neuro, general and ortho (sorry callie) in the state. It’s 2024 in the USA for gods sake, get a grip man!” With this she ushered us out of the room and then into an in call room so she could talk to us.
“YOURE WHAT?!” mer practically yelled
“Keep your voice down, yes we’re dating.” Amelia said to mer try help her keep her head on.
“Look Amelia, I love y/n with my whole heart she’s my sister okay? So, if you hurt her, break her heart or do anything to even slightly harm her, I will hurt you twice as much. She’s the best thing that’ll ever happened to you, so don’t screw it up okay?” My heart warmed after hearing just how much mer cared about me and that she would protect me but also slightly concerned she just threatened my girlfriend.
“Yes ma’am.” Amelia murmured clearly slightly intimidated by mer.
“Okay, now that that’s out the way, I’m so happy for you guys!” Me and Ames say thanks and mer’s oager goes off so she has to run so me and amy are left alone in the in-call room.
“I love you Amelia.” I say as I peck her lips and wrap my arms around her neck.
“I love you too y/n/n.” At this she pulled me into a passionate kiss and lowered us both down onto a bed.
When in an unoccupied on-call room…

@wolfstarmicrofic March 24 prompt, Ferula (Bandaging Charm) -- 242 words
Remus woke up, and he hurt. He groaned, sinking into the old mattress and squeezing his eyes shut. He mentally gave himself a once-over, making sure he didn’t have too much major damage from the full moon. Once he was sure he hadn’t broken anything, he opened his eyes and looked around the little room in the Shack. Sure enough, there was the big black dog, curled up in the corner opposite the bed.
“Morning, Padfoot,” Remus called to his friend, and the dog lifted its head. As it stood and walked over to the boy, Remus noticed a limp in Sirius’ stride. A lump appeared in his throat as he realized that that must be his doing. When Sirius transformed back into his human form, Remus sighed and asked flatly, “How bad is it?”
Sirius held his limp arm and protested, “It’s not that bad!”, though Remus could tell he was suppressing a wince. He fixed a look on Sirius, who exclaimed, “What? It isn’t!”
Remus rolled his eyes, “You’re a terrible liar Pads”. He found his wand from the drawer beside the bed and pointed the tip at the injured arm, whispering “Ferula” as he’d seen Madam Pompfrey do many times before. He and Sirius watched as bandages spiralled out of his wand’s tip and set themselves around the affected forearm. Remus saw Sirius noticeably relax as the pain lessened. “Come on,” Remus whispered, “Let’s get back to the castle,”

@satineweek Day Five: “MERCY”
For this prompt YALL SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT I WAS DOING. The irony was there and ready to be taken advantage of. My Doctor Who OC coincidentally is named “Mercy Song” so when I saw that todays prompt was “MERCY” I simply HAD to draw Mercy and Satine in their Mandalorian armor. If you’ve read my fic than you also would know that Mercy would be so excited to wear Mandalorian armor.
Satine’s armor is based off Dave Filoni’s original design for Mand’Alor Satine if she’d been allowed her full character arc.

Feel Your Kiss On Me
Title from For You by Liam Payne and RIta Ora
Requested by @whiskeyloverbae , thank you! 💕
“Tim has a hickey and he thinks it’s hidden by his collar but Angela calls him out on it. “
“Lucy!” Tim called from the bathroom.
“What?” Lucy returned, coming around the corner from her bedroom.
He couldn’t help but rake his eyes over her in the kimono and sleep shorts she wore, her hair wound messily on top of her head.
He grumbled, remembering he was trying to be pissed at her, and gestured to his neck and the purplish mark forming there.
“Oops,” she posited, but the mischievous grin that spread across her features betrayed her.
“Lucy, we have work today! What am I supposed to do with this?”
“I’ll go put a spoon in the freezer,” she tucked her lips between her teeth, trying to suppress her laughter.
Lucy rounded the corner once again, wrapping her arms around his waist as he dragged a razor through the shaving cream on his face.
She pressed her lips to his bare back, “You adding to the mess you’ve created?”
She smiled against his skin, “I wasn’t planning on it, but now that you mention it,” she chortled as she nipped at his shoulder.
“Luce!” he tried not to laugh, trying desperately to be mad at her, “We share a locker room!”
“Oh, like it’s the first time one of you’s had a mark.”
“It’s a hickey, Luce. I have a reputation.”
He tapped the razor in the sink before turning around in her arms to her raised eyebrow, “We both know that went out the window when you met me.”
“You’re impossible,” he said as his hand found the sides of her face.
Tim wore a collared shirt into the station, forgoing his usual henley in hopes of hiding the mark his girlfriend left the night before, the frozen spoon not doing much to dull the offensive color. He put his white undershirt on and then uniform top on as fast as humanly possible, hoping none of the other officers noticed. He adjusted the collar in the mirror on the inside of his locker door and hoped it would stay in place all day.
“I should’ve starched these,” he complained to himself.
He left the locker room, seemingly unscathed. Angela asked him to see her when he came in for the day, so he made his way to her desk with two cups of coffee.
“Ange,” he set her cup in front of her.
“Hey, she greeted, “Thanks. The name Dennis Rand ring any bells?”
“Jesus,” he groaned as he balanced his arm on his duty belt.
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes?’”
“I’ve arrested him maybe ten times over the years. Why?”
“He managed to get invol–”
Tim turned his head at the sound of glass shattering on the other side of the bullpen.
“Damnit, Smitty!” Angela barked before he even made it into her field of view.
“I’m sorry! It just slipped out of my hands!”
“Clean it up! That’s the third one this week!” she finally braved a glance at the mess of broken porcelain and coffee on the floor.
Angela looked up, Tim’s head still pulled in the direction of Smitty dejectedly slinking toward the janitor’s closet.
“Timothy…”
His body stiffened as she stood up. It was never good when she used his full name.
He turned toward her, “Yes, Angela?”
She pinched the collar of his shirt, pulling it away from his body and laughing like a maniac. He rolled his eyes at her antics.
“Tim,” she managed to get out between snorts, “Is that a hickey?”
“I’m going to kill her,” he griped.
Angela simply laughed harder, nearly doubling over, having to brace herself with a hand on the edge of her desk.
“Are you done?” he asked when she managed to stand up straight again.
“Oh, no. Not even close.”
“You two have fun last night?” She giggled again, “Oh, lemme guess. You bet on who could list the most penal codes in sixty seconds, and this was your punishment for losing?”
“No, wait! Lucy decided that she’d had enough of other women hitting on you, so she finally decided to do something about it?”
Tim blushed. This is not the conversation he’d envisioned for his Monday morning.
“No, no, I got it. Were you misbehaving?”
“I have work to do,” he turned to walk away.
“No, Tim, wait!” she tried not to laugh again.
He turned around only long enough to flip her the bird.
“Your life would be so boring without me!”
He shook his head, a reluctantly amused smile on his face as he made his way to his office. He kind of hated her for it, but it was just Angela’s way of showing affection.
Sitting behind his own desk, Tim placed his coffee down when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
A: Dennis Rand, asshole. I needed info
T: Maybe you shouldn’t have made fun of me then
A: whatever, I’ll just ask Lucy. Among other things 😁
T: I hate you both
A: You love us
Tim shot a text off to the woman in question.
T: in case you didn’t hear the cackling coming from the bullpen, Angela found the monstrosity you left on my neck
T: Maybe I should return the favor tonight
L: don’t threaten me with a good time bradford
He chuckled, setting his phone down.
This was going to be a long day.

Amelia Can't Win - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary:
Finding out she’s being dumped from Love Island stings, and it hurts even more when the guy she likes doesn’t offer to leave with her. But none of that can compare to the confession that Amelia just dropped — the ultimate betrayal from the one person who claimed to always have her back. So when Everly Thompson gets another text telling her she’s actually going to Casa Amor early, she senses an opportunity. And luckily, there’s one person there in particular who’s willing to help her get her revenge. No matter what, Amelia can’t win.
My first chaptered fic for S6! Eek!! I'm not sure how frequently this will be updated as I'm still working on W&W (which is a monster) and a little something I have planned for October, but I wanted to get the first chapter out before the season ended (just made it!). The initial idea was a oneshot but it just grew exponentially and I have no idea how long it's gonna be. Hope you enjoy!

and I drove you crazy, major john egan

Tumblr media
“Bucky, you haven’t shown her that you’re committed to her. She’s not obligated to wait around while you figure it out. You either want her or you don’t. But a woman like her doesn’t come around often, so I suggest you choose wisely. Other men are waiting to take your place.”
The words replayed in his mind like a song he couldn’t help but hum the words to. The logic of his best friend imprinted itself on the forefront of his mind. You either want her or you don’t. You either want her or you don’t. Choose wisely. Wise choices. Other men. Waiting. To take his place. His stomach churned in discomfort.
The sun dipped below the horizon, hues of orange and pink across the sky. John found himself alone with his thoughts, as he had been for majority of the day. The weight of his burdened his strong shoulders, and the fear of Amelia slipping through his fingers gnawed at his heart. His fingertips drummed against the iron headboard as his mind raced faster than a Jeep on a gravel road.
The silence in the room was deafening. He rose to his feet and paced around the room, his sock-clad feet slipping against the floor with every movement. With a heavy sigh, he collapsed against the bed again, carding through his hair in frustration. He knew he had to make things right, but where to begin, he wondered. That was the question that tormented him as he stared out the window, watching as the sun and moon traded places.
John felt stuck. He felt emotions he’d never felt before. They were big, they were intense, and they were overwhelming. He was rattled by Buck’s words, uncomfortable with the thought of another man looking in her direction, calling her beautiful, or asking her to dance. What would he do if she decided she wanted nothing to do with him? If she left him high and dry as she moved onto another man? His lip twitched in disgust.
He couldn’t believe it; a woman who he hadn’t known for even a year had turned his world upside down and it drove him insane. Caring for someone on such a deep level wasn’t what he was used to and it was an odd feeling. Having his chest cave, his throat constrict, and his shoulders burdened with guilt. Major Egan wasn’t sensitive to such things. But, John was.
His resolve solidified, John retrieved his boots and hastily packed a few belongings into his backpack. As he prepared to leave, a sleeping Buck stirred, casting a curious glance his way. "Where are you going?" Buck's voice was laced with concern, but John's determination was unwavering. "Amelia?" he guessed correctly.
John nodded, a sense of urgency propelling him forward. "I need to talk to her," he muttered, his jaw set in determination. With a final nod to his friend, he slipped out into the night, the weight of his goal heavy on his shoulders.
-
It was late. He was surprised when she let him enter her home. By the look she gave him, she seemed disturbed by his presence. He felt as though he had to walk on eggshells; the last thing he wanted to do was give her a reason to push him out and slam a door in his face. He had to be calculated. Meticulous.
John slid his bag off his shoulder and it hit the floor with an echoing thud. Amelia did not wait for him to gather his bearings before she walked away. He followed her into the kitchen, where she grabbed a ceramic mug from her cabinet and turned on the kettle. Its high-pitched whistle disrupted the disgustingly tense atmosphere his presence created. She swiped a tea bag from beside her stack of letters, placed it in the mug, and poured the piping hot water on top.
“Sugar?” she asked without facing him. He requested two teaspoons. She placed the mug in his hand. Always so considerate. However, the hope he had diminished at her question, “What brings you here, Major?” John forced himself not to roll his eyes in annoyance Had he upset her that badly? He sighed heavily and circled the rim of the mug with his fingertip.
“I wanted to talk to you, Rose.”
Amelia’s eyes narrowed. Her eyebrow rose and her tongue circle the roof of her mouth. It had been seven days since they’d spoken for more than five minutes and he came to talk to her late at night? She found herself growing more frustrated by his antics, but more disappointed by her inability to stand her ground. She refused to show any signs of weakness, so sternly she replied, “So talk.”
John pressed his back against the island, wincing once the draw handle punctured a weak spot. He placed the mug behind him. Carefully, he said, “You’ve been avoiding me. What’s that about?” Calculated. Meticulous. Walking on eggshells.
Her jaw clenched evidently. The muscles in her neck strained, her nostrils flared, and one again, her tongue circled the roof of her mouth. He recognized those mannerisms easily; she was thinking and trying to come up with an answer.
"I just figured I needed some space," she said after some time, her voice tentative yet resolute. “That’s all.”
John's expression shifted, a mixture of frustration and concern flickering across his features. So, we're doing this, he thought to himself. His chuckle was hollow, devoid of any amusement. Meeting her gaze, his voice was low as he probed, "Is that right?"
Her arms crossed defensively over her chest, a shield against the vulnerability of their conversation. She met his gaze with a hint of defiance, but her eyes betrayed the emotions swirling within her. With a hesitant nod, she affirmed, "That is correct."
His jaw tightened at her response, a surge of emotions rising within him. "You want to tell me why?" he pressed, his voice tinged with a mixture of frustration and longing.
Silence. Her jaw shook and her eyes welled with tears. She was strong enough to keep her rigid stature, but not enough to keep the lone tear from streaming down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly. “I don’t think we are on the same page here, John. I can’t tell if you’re wanting to be with me for entertainment or if you’re serious.”
“Amelia--”
She cut him off. “You take me out, you buy me a dozen roses a week, you send me letters, yet, for an entire weekend, I see women in your face…and what don’t you do? Reject their advances.”
He didn’t bother to speak as he knew she wasn’t finished.
“If you want a plaything, fine. A casual girlfriend, fine. You need to be honest and say it as it is. But I’ll let you know, I won’t be either one of those. I’m a good woman.”
John used his hands to press off the counter. He took a step toward her. “I know you are, Amelia, and its obvious I have made you feel that I don’t see that. I’m not going to say you’re right, but I can agree that I never made it clear with you what I wanted.”
Amelia’s chin rose as she soaked in his words.
“I do want to be committed to you. It hasn’t appeared that way, and I’m sorry. But, I haven’t cheated on you and I never will. I want this to work…I want to be yours in every way; tell me what I need to do, Amelia…”
He sounded so hopeless. His walls were torn like Jericho and left at her feet. Everything was new to him—love, commitment, and how to do it. John knew it left no room for excuse, but that was his honest truth. Everyday, he was learning how to love someone more than himself.
“Just put yourself in my shoes, Egan. I just wanted to be yours, in all ways, and I want to feel wanted by you. So, knowing that, how would you feel if you witnessed what I did, regardless of how loyal I claimed to be…”
The thought alone would drive him insane. He resisted the urge to show the look of despair that fought to show on his face. John urgently repeated, “Tell me what I need to do, Amelia.”
There was a moment of silence. Just a moment. It seemed like an eternity for John, who resumed drumming his fingertips, this time against the side of his thigh.
In an even tone and cadence, Amelia simply said, “Prove it.”
-
“Oh…” She was breathless. Her words were interrupted by soft whispers against the shell of her ear. She sighed softly against his face and wrapped her arm around his broad shoulders. “Johnny.”
Through hooded eyes, he caught a glimpse of her face. Her hair, which was usually pressed, was a curly array against her floral pillows. Her forehead glistened with the faintest sheen of sweat, which only made her glow under the rays of the moonlight. Her eyes were screwed shut and her lips were just hardly parted. Softly, he said, “My pretty girl.”
He brought his lips to hers, swallowing her soft cries and gentle moans. “I love you, darlin’. Do you love me?” She whimpered weakly, tracing the ridges of his muscles with her fingers. He winced when her fingertips dug into his skin.
“Yes!” she cried out. “I love you, I love you…”
As their bodies melted into each other, tangled in a fervent embrace, they whispered declarations of love into the quiet night. The four letter word sealed the bond between them. Love. And it was so.

Hi, i was wondering if you would write one about Amelia Shepherd as your foster mom or motherly sister - you have anorexia and she is admitting you to the psych ward against your will. meredith is there to support her and you.
Tumblr media
Authors note: I'm sorry there wasn't a new story yesterday, but I had another recurring episode of a migraine and it really weighed me down.
ᕚ---ᕘ
In the dark corridor of the psychiatric hospital, the footsteps of the neurosurgeon and the general surgeon echoed as the two hesitantly walked towards the closed door of your temporary stay, Meredith's arm reassuringly placed on the brunette's shoulder. The dim beam of light from the bulb above the door was the only glow at the end of the dark hallway, reflected off the peeling walls. Amelia's heart was pounding in her chest as she gripped the cold metal handle of the door that separated you from her.
She slowly opened the door and entered the room, which was filled with a diffuse light from the bedside lamp. "Hey, sweetheart. I have brought you a visitor," she spoke to you calmly, scrunching her nose as the smell of disinfectant and suppressed suffering crawled into her sinuses. In the corner of the room you sat, curled up on your bed with your legs pulled up to your chest. "Go away, I do not want to see you," you spoke, your gaze was empty, your eyes seemed tired and expressionless as a faint shadow of past joy of life crossed your face.
Amelia hesitated for a moment before approaching the bed. Her hand shook as she gently took your hand. She felt the cold of your skin and the pressure of your fingers weakly recoil and move away from her, sliding further into the corner. Tears welled up in her eyes as she carefully backed away even though she just wanted to hold on to your hand and cling to it so as not to fall into the abyss herself. "Please, y/n.. I love you and missed you," she began to speak quietly, Amelia's words full of pain and desperation. "and you know that bringing you here was the only right decision,"
You were trapped in your world, your sister´s words seeming opaque and incomprehensible as she spoke of the constant fear that tormented her when you stopped eating in your dark hours and were no longer the person she once knew. "You dragged me here and left me with strangers who were supposed to help me. When all I really needed was MY SISTER!" Another grab for your knee vanished into thin air as you evaded away from her touch and her hand instead reached back towards Meredith, who had not said a word yet but was holding a bag that the brunette had brought for you.
With tears in her eyes and shaking hands, she pulled out some personal items and began decorating your new room for the next few months to calm herself down. Amelia had no idea what to say, she felt incredibly guilty. She carefully placed these items on the nightstand next to the bed, as if she wanted to leave a piece of her lost sister behind. Photos of happy times, some books you recently bought and a diary where you once wrote down your dreams and hopes. "Amelia, is it okay if you leave us alone for a moment?" Meredith's bright voice broke through the cramped silence that was almost unbearable and the brunette nodded groggily but thankfully before slowly turning away, her eyes full of pain and helplessness.
With one last, loving look at you, she left the room and closed the door behind her. The click of the door lock echoed through the empty hallway, and behind it she burst into tears as she leaned against the cold wall and slid painfully down. In that moment she knew she had made the right decision, even though it broke her heart that you turned her away. Amelia had placed you in the care of professionals in the hope that you would find help there, but the pain and sadness of seeing you in this fragile and self-destructive state would stay with her forever.
But she also knew that you would both get through this and that you would eventually thank her for saving your life. And as she pulled herself together and walked down the hallway of the hospital into the parking lot, she could not stop wondering what was currently going on in that room with Meredith and you. Meanwhile, Meredith retreated to your room with you, the atmosphere charged and tense as you nervously folded your hands over your thighs. She sat down next to you and gently placed a hand on your shoulder. "I know this is all very new and very difficult for you. You are probably feeling very hurt, angry and alone, but I want you to understand that your sister never intended to harm you," she began to speak slowly, her hand moving to your face to brush a stray strand of hair from your pale face and tuck it behind your ear. "She loves you more than words can express and she did everything she could to help you."
You hesitantly let her touch you, hurt that she also agreed to your Amelia´s decision and helped her register and accommodate you here. "But then why did she put me in this psychiatric hospital? Why she did not try to help me if she loves me so much?"
"Sometimes, my love, life is not as easy as we wish it to be. Amelia was desperate. She saw how much you suffered, how much you had changed and how you were destroying yourself in front of her eyes. She just knew no more how she could help you. Your sister tried everything, but it felt like nothing was helping and she did not want you to continue to be trapped in this darkness. That seemed to her the only way out to make sure that you Get the support and care you need."
After her speech, you burst into utter tears. Meredith took off her shoes and crawled on all fours to you. She quickly pulled you closer to her, pushing your head into her lap where you clung to her thighs. "But I feel so alone here. I am scared and I miss Amelia and you so much." She stroked your hair comfortingly, gently wiping your cheeks with her thumb every now and then to catch your tears. Her other hand searched for yours, fingers intertwining with yours. "Remember that you are not alone here. The people here will help you and I will always be there for you. I am just a call or a text away and if you want, I can come here with your sister every day after work and spend time with you so that you do not feel alone for at least a few hours.“
"I do not want to blame her but it hurts so much to be here," you admitted quietly, turning your head so that you could look into her eyes from below. A small smile crept onto her lips and she nudged your nose before starting to speak again. "It is okay to have these feelings, to be angry and sad. But please also understand that she acted out of love, even if it does not feel like it in that moment. She did not want you to suffer.“
You lowered your head back to her thighs as you thought about Meredith's words. A spark of understanding glowed in your eyes, and despite the pain, you felt a tiny bit of relief. It was a first step on the road to healing that gave the blonde hope.

Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.

Category: Fluff, Humor
A/N: When I tell you this fic lived in my mind rent-free and refused to leave until I wrote it... dude, I literally couldn’t think of anything else until this was metaphorically on the page
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"C'mon, Phoenix! Payback? Fanboy? You can't leave me hanging, I need somebody to sing a duet with me."
"No way in hell Rooster. We're not going up there and making fools of ourselves."
I couldn't help tuning into the loud argument being had by the group behind me. I turned to find a tall, handsome man with a mustache standing and trying to persuade just one of his friends to go sing karaoke with him.
He wasn't having much luck.
"You know, if none of you go up there with me, I'll just have to go up there and do both parts myself."
"Great! Bob, get your phone out and record this, it's going to be gold-"
"Excuse me?" I said, standing and walking around the table where I'd been sitting to stand in front of the mustache man. My friends gave me incredulous looks, but I ignored them. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing. I've been trying to talk my friends into going up there and singing with me all night with no luck too, and so if you need a duet partner... I'd be happy to step in."
"Seriously?" he asked. I nodded.
"Seriously."
"Then let's go!"
He didn't even hesitate as he grabbed my hand and headed up to the front of the bar, and I couldn't help the laugh that bubbled out of me. We got to the front, where people were taking signups, and he pulled me up with him before dropping my hand and draping his arm around my shoulders instead.
"Hey!" he said, yelling to be heard over the current singer and music. "We're- shit, I don't even know your name!"
He turned to me, dropping his arm from my shoulders with a wide-eyed look on his face, but I just laughed.
"It's Y/N!"
"Y/N, Rooster! It's nice to meet you!"
"Rooster?"
"I'm a fighter pilot, it's my callsign!"
"Oh! Well then, Rooster, it's nice to meet you too!"
He turned back to the karaoke people like there had never been an interruption, a massive smile on his face.
"We're Rooster and Y/N. Can we sign up for a duet?"
"Sure thing. What do you want to sing?"
He turned back to me and raised an eyebrow. I leaned in a little, so I wouldn't have to yell as loudly, and Rooster turned so my mouth was next to his ear.
"How about Don't Go Breaking My Heart?" I asked. Rooster whipped his head around to face me so quickly he almost accidentally kissed me on the mouth.
"That's perfect! I think I might love you for suggesting it."
I just laughed and leaned into him as he turned back to deliver our song decision. The karaoke people wrote it down, then gestured for us to wait until our names were called. We chatted by the bar for a few minutes, and then at last, we were up.
"Okay, so you're gonna be Kiki Dee, right?" I teased as we went up. Rooster shot me a grin as we took our mics.
"Honey, I'm pretty sure you're kidding, but you'd better be careful because I'll take you up on that in a heartbeat."
I laughed as the music started, sharing a brief smile with Rooster before we launched into our performance. Our friends were clearly laughing at us, but neither of us cared.
We were having the time of our lives.
****************
I fidgeted in front of the mirror, adjusting my dress and hair again. After a few seconds, I forced myself to turn away and head downstairs before I drove myself crazy. Rooster was picking me up in a few minutes for our first date, and I'd taken to messing with my outfit to try to keep my nerves down while I waited.
I wandered into the kitchen and pulled down a glass to get some water, but I almost dropped it when a knock came at the door. I set the glass down and smiled as I moved to the door, opening it to find Rooster on the other side, a massive grin on his face.
"Wow. You look gorgeous."
I felt my face heat up as I looked down bashfully.
"Thanks. You look pretty good yourself."
He shrugged. "I do my best. You ready?"
"Of course. Where are we going?" I asked as we headed for his waiting car.
"I thought we'd go to that nice restaurant down by the Hard Deck, then walk along the beach afterwards? Look at the stars, walk through the surf, all that good stuff?"
"That sounds perfect."
We shared a smile as Rooster opened the door of his car for me and I slipped inside. He walked around and started the engine, and to my delight, Don't Go Breaking My Heart came on the radio.
"Hey!" said Rooster, immediately reaching for the dial to turn it up. "It's our song!"
"First date and we've already got a song?" I teased. He grinned right back.
"Since we met through singing it, yeah, I think it already counts as our song."
"Fair enough."
Like we'd planned it, we started singing together with the windows down as we drove to the restaurant. A joyous feeling bubbled up in my chest, and I felt truly alive with the wind in my hair and the music at top-volume as we cruised to the restaurant together.
After our song ended, Rooster and I just kept singing. One great song after another, we belted our hearts and souls out the whole way there. We occasionally got strange stares from the people on the street and in the other cars around us, but neither of us cared at all.
We had a lovely dinner together, then wandered down to the beach. I immediately kicked off my shoes, opting to carry them and feel my feet in the sand, and Rooster quickly followed suit.
"Nothing like the ocean at night," I sighed, breathing in the cool night air as Rooster gently took my hand.
"All the stars overhead aren't doing anything to hurt the view either," he added.
"No kidding."
We walked for a few minutes in comfortable silence, eventually wandering closer to the edge of the surf. We dipped our feet in the water and moved on to talking about nothing, enjoying every minute of it all the same.
Eventually, it got late enough that we needed to head back. We were both tired enough that we didn't sing along to all the songs on the way back, but we still turned them up to full-volume to enjoy.
When we got back to my house, Rooster walked me to the doorstep. We paused just outside the front door, smiles on both of our faces.
"So... did I make the cut for a second date?" he asked.
"Hell yes you did. I had a really, really good time, Rooster."
"Me too. I'm bogged down at Top Gun for the rest of the week, but maybe after that we could do something?"
"You're on, Bradshaw." I turned away long enough to open my door, then turned back to look at Rooster again. He stared right back as I took a few steps to close the distance between us, his eyes never leaving my face. I leaned up to place a soft kiss on his cheek, and when I pulled away, Rooster watched every single move I made like a hawk.
"I'll see you next weekend."
****************
I fidgeted on the docks, watching the massive aircraft carrier in front of me go through the final steps in the docking process. Rooster and the rest of the Top Gun special detachment were finally getting home today, safe and sound by some miracle. We'd been dating for months now, but this had been the first time I'd watched him ship out somewhere.
It was terrifying. But he loved flying, so I got through it. And now, he was coming home.
Maverick was the first one down the ramp and on dry land, and then a moment later, Rooster appeared behind him. A massive smile broke out on my face, and I didn't waste a second before sprinting across the dock.
Maverick grinned as soon as he caught sight of me, and then made a big show of clearly stepping out of my way. Rooster beamed as he opened his arms wide, catching me and managing to keep us from eating shit as I ran into him at full speed.
"Hey, baby," he muttered into my hair. He wrapped both arms around my waist and held me tight, spinning me around a few times before letting my feet rest firmly on the ground again. A few of his fellow pilots cheered and clapped him on the shoulder as they went past, but I ignored them all.
"I missed you," I said, pulling back just enough to look him in the eyes. "And I'm so glad you're home."
"I'm glad I'm home too, sweetheart."
He smiled, and I didn't waste another second before kissing him, hard. I heard Maverick clear his throat, but I ignored him. Rooster hadn't even been gone that long, but I'd missed him all the same. I didn't give a rat's ass who was watching; I was going to kiss my boyfriend as long as I damn well wanted.
When we finally broke apart, Rooster was staring at me with all the love in the world on his face. I couldn't stop myself from leaning up to give him one last quick peck, then we turned to head the rest of the way to shore. Rooster wrapped one arm tightly around my shoulders, and I started to walk, but I stopped short at the look Maverick was giving us.
He stared at us like we were ghosts, a slight sheen of tears in his eyes.
"Uh... are you okay?" I asked. Rooster's arm tightened around my shoulders as Maverick gave us a small smile.
"Yeah. Fine. You two just... you look a lot like another couple I knew."
I tried to figure out what the hell he was talking about, since the last time I'd talked to my boyfriend, Maverick had been enemy #1.
To my surprise, Rooster dropped his arm from my shoulders and took my hand instead, pulling me with him into a group hug with Maverick. They shared a smile and a laugh as we all embraced, and it seemed like a nice moment, but I couldn't help being a little confused.
After a few beats, we all broke apart, Maverick and Rooster still sharing happy smiles. When neither of them jumped in to explain, I took matters into my own hands.
"So... I take it you and Maverick worked some things out on this mission?"
Both men turned to me, giving me eerily similar smiles.
"Yeah, we worked a few things out," said Rooster. "I'll catch you up on it, but... we're cool with him now."
I shrugged. "Sounds good."
Maverick looked between Rooster and I with a raised eyebrow.
"Is that why you seemed mad at me every time I saw you?" he asked me. "Even before I knew who you were?"
"Yeah. My boyfriend had beef with you, so I had beef with you. But now, apparently, you're in the clear! So, I guess... looking forward to getting to know you."
Maverick stared at us for another few seconds, then broke out laughing. He sighed and looped one arm around Rooster's shoulders and the other around mine.
"Let's get out of here and go get a drink, then. I want nothing more than to get to know the woman who's been making Rooster so happy."
****************
"Amelia! Come back here! What the hell are you even doing?"
I shouted down the beach at Rooster and I's honorary little sister as she booked it down the beach. I was supposed to be driving her to a tutoring session, but when I'd swung by the Hard Deck to pick her up, she'd sprinted out to the beach without a word to me.
I saw her disappear around a rock outcropping a little further ahead, and I hustled after her. I had no idea what had made her run out of the bar like her hair was on fire, but I seriously needed to find out.
I rounded the rock, having to get my feet a little wet in the process, but came to a dead stop when I saw what was waiting on the other side. Amelia stood between her parents, Penny and Maverick, all three of them with massive grins on their faces as they stared at me. Between me and them stood none other than Bradly Rooster Bradshaw, my best friend and boyfriend, radiating happiness like the sun.
"Babe... what's going on?" I asked, taking a few steps closer to Rooster. He didn't answer, instead waiting until I got almost all the way to him. Then, just as I was about to start demanding some answers, he dropped to one knee before me in the sand.
"Y/N..."
"Oh my God, Bradley..."
"You make me the happiest I've been in a long, long time. You're my best friend, dream karaoke buddy, partner in crime, and the absolute love of my life. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
"Baby... of course I will."
I couldn't help the tears that started to fall as Rooster stood, catching me as I fell into his arms. I held him tight and kissed him hard, and we lost ourselves in each other for a few moments before the happy congratulations of our family brought us back to reality.
"So, do I get to be in the wedding?" asked Amelia with a grin as Rooster carefully slipped the ring on my finger. I leaned into him as I smiled back at Amelia.
"Absolutely you do. Despite the fact that you made me run frantically across the beach in a near-panic right before my proposal, I'd be honored to have you as one of my bridesmaids."
She absolutely beamed back at me, a very similar expression on Penny's face behind her. Rooster tugged me in tight to him as Maverick clapped him on the back on the other side, and I felt an absolutely beautiful sense of peace looking around at the people I loved so much.
I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life just like this.
****************
"...and do you, Y/N Y/L/N, take Bradley Bradshaw to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"Absolutely I do."
"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now ki-"
Rooster was way ahead. He swept me into a dip and kissed me, both of us smiling into it. Our friends and family cheered, and we stayed like that for a minute before finally straightening up.
Rooster and I held our joined hands up in the air in victory, and I laughed happily as I leaned into him. We'd both been smiling non-stop since this morning, and neither of us showed any signs of stopping soon. We strutted out of the church together to the applause of all our guests, then climbed into the car waiting to take us to our reception.
When we got into the back and the door closed behind us, I couldn't help letting out a little sigh at the temporary peace and quiet it gave us.
"I love you so much, Bradley," I said, leaning my head on his chest and resting a hand on his thigh. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and held me close, placing a soft kiss to my forehead.
"And I love you so, so much Mrs. Bradshaw."
I hummed. "I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of hearing that."
"I sure hope not."
I chuckled, half-heartedly hitting Bradley in the chest. We spent the rest of the ride recharging together, and basking in the glow of being newly, officially married.
Married.
By the time the car got to the reception venue and the wedding party got done taking photos, the festivities were already in full swing. Rooster and I strutted in when the time came for our big entrance, then took the floor for our first dance to none other than Great Balls of Fire. We hadn't choreographed it, and we were laughing so hard that half the dance was us leaning on each other just trying to stay standing, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.
After the traditional first dance, it was time for our new tradition. Our first karaoke as a married couple.
"You wanna be Kiki Dee or Elton John?" I asked as we took the stage and grabbed the two waiting microphones. We'd sung this song at karaoke plenty of times since the first one when we'd met, but it never failed to make my heart beat faster and put a smile on my face.
"Dealer's choice, sweetheart. Although I think we figured out pretty early that my voice is a little better suited to Elton's voice."
"Yeah, good point. You need to be way more drunk to make Kiki Dee's part sound good."
"Maybe a little later in the evening, then."
We shared a smile, then the music started and we faced our waiting friends and family. The past few years with Rooster had been the absolute best of my life, and I couldn't wait to spend every other moment with him, just like this.

Enchanted to meet you (Paul Lahote X OC) Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: Hey guys this is just a quick little chapter but I assure you all I will be posting another very quickly Word Count: 856
Aeon and Jen laid in bed most of the night, after their daughter had interrupted the meeting with the shifters, things ended quickly afterwards. To most people, the change in the atmosphere would’ve been almost undetectable, however both Aeon and Jen were magic users and could feel like slight shimmer in the room as their eldest daughter Amelia made eye contact with one of the shifters, Paul Lahote. They both were very familiar with the wolf shifters lore, and very aware of the imprinting bond that had an unbreakable hold on them. Aeon had very swiftly ushered the pack towards the basement where they had set up a temporary guest bedroom situation for them—while Jen stayed sat on the couch. Complete and Utter Rage barely remaining contained.
“I don’t know how you can be so okay with this.” Jen gritted through her teeth, casting a sideways glare at the side of her husband’s head. His face was smooth and serene, if it had anyone else gazing upon him, they would’ve assumed him to be asleep; however, she knew better.
“You know, just as I do, that we are no match against fate, My dear.” His tone didn’t portray any emotion as he spoke, which made Jen’s blood boil.
“This isn’t her fate, Aeon.” She propped herself up on her elbow as she turned to fully face him, “Amelia is supposed to take over the Coven, not fall into some story-tale romance with a shifter of all people! We both know just how unruly and short tempered the shifters can be, and you’re just going to sit back and accept it?”
“My love,” He began opening his eyes to meet hers, “You know that I love you and the girls more than anything else in this entire realm. If I genuinely believed he posed some danger, of course I would be concerned. I do not mean to offend you my dear, but I fear you may be judging them a little too swiftly. Yes, the shifters are a formidable enemy, however only if you make them the enemy. The same wolf blood that causes their short tempers is also the same blood that makes them fiercely loyal and protective of those around them. You have also not seen them in battle, I have. Those few years ago when I was called upon to witness for the Cullens, I saw two wolf packs, fighting alongside each other all to protect the imprint of one of the wolves.” Aeon paused to look into the eyes of his wife and could tell the flame of her worry and anger had not been extinguished. “What else is troubling your mind?” He reached out gently, tracing the side of her face moonlit face.
“I just…” She breathed out, leaning into the loving touch of her husband, “She has barely lived, Aeon. Now, she’s supposed to go run off to Vegas and get married? How will she know this is what she wants?”
Aeon let out a breathy laugh. “No, my sweet, sweet, Jenny, I think you misunderstand the imprint bond.” The corners of his mouth tug into a small smile as he sees the look of confusion spread across her features. “Yes, the young man that is sleeping in our basement this very second, could possibly become the future lover of our daughter. That, however, is not for certain. All we can know at this moment is that he will be there for her, through thick and thin, protecting her and loving her in any way she needs, whether that is the love of a brother, best friend, or Lover. All this means for our daughter is that no matter what, she will always have someone by her side who has her best interests in mind.”
“Oh.” Is all she could say as she attempted to shift her way of thinking. A thick blanket of anxiety was wrapped tightly around her heart as she tried to consider what this means for her eldest daughter. If she was to take over the coven, she would benefit from a bodyguard. Having that much power in the magical world did come with a target on her back, and this Paul could make out to be a good protector.
She shook her head gently, dispelling the positive look she had taken on the situation, she still did not like this at all. She raised her daughters to pave their own road in life, not let anyone hold them back. This seemed all too… all too…
She let out a groan of frustration, letting her head fall onto her husband’s chest, as her mind failed to conjure the proper words to describe the feelings eating away at her. Aeon simply entangled his fingers into her hair and gently massaged her scalp, pressing a small kiss on top her head, “It will be alright, I assure you. Give it some time and I promise you will see.”
That was the final words exchanged between the two parents that night, they slipped into a deep sleep not long after, both minds full of thoughts of their dear daughter, Amelia.
