YOUR LIPS, MY LIPS. APOCALYPSE.
If someone had told you four years prior that this is where you would be today, you would’ve checked them for a bite mark.
Because they would have been losing their mind.
2034, and all the years beforehand, were years unforgettable. The person you were couldn’t imagine a life that wasn’t the one you had. Infected roamed, and danger lurked. But love prevailed.
And you were lucky to be a part of it.
You were born in Boston, Massachusetts in the 2010’s at an unlucky hour. To an unlucky life. You had lost your mom before you could say your own name, and the only biological family you had ever gotten to know in your life was your dad, who was the reason you were where you were today in the first place.
When you were young, your dad joined a group once asked to by the leader of it, a woman named Marlene. Since then, and for as long as you could remember, this group has been your place to call home.
They called themselves the Fireflies for the very bug they took the name from: Their goal was to spread luminescence in a world full of darkness. Your dad, who was an incredibly skilled medic, was roped into it when you were younger, for that very reason. And because of the group’s dire need for medics at the time, their leader, Marlene, who was an old friend of your dad’s, asked him to join, all but begged him to, really.
Your dad wasn’t one to deny anyone in need. It was in his nature, and it was why he was such a great medic. So, of course, he agreed.
But only if there would be a place for you, too.
Your dad raised you up as a member of the Fireflies, and then later as a medic, and it was because of him that you were who you were: A resilient individual, a survivor, and yet, a person who embodied compassion, just as he did.
The years went by hazily, the older you got, anyway. You became just as immersed into your work as your dad did, bettering your medical knowledge on a daily basis, be it by old books, rusted cassettes, or your dad himself. But all the while, you managed to balance work, love, and family, and, in a world like this one, that was a lot more than most people could say.
For obvious reasons, you couldn’t remember the 2010’s. Then came the 2020’s, which sped by your eyes. But the 2030’s as a general consensus were years ingrained into your brain. Full of friendship, family, and love? At times. But they also encompassed chaos, despair, and pressure, and changed your life forever.
And forever was a long time.
In the year 2033, all that you believed was true about the world as you knew it, crumbled to the ground. In a land following an apocalypse, it wasn’t uncommon to feel as if there was no way out, as if the life you lived had hit a place of no return.
Now, if only there was a way to fix it. A cure, right?
It was late one evening while you were working on somebody in the Fireflies’ medical center, that Marlene came into the room, expression serious, and voice showing for it. Once you had the person you had been caring for under control, you followed Marlene out of the center, and into a room of a pair of people, one familiar, and one not.
Your dad, and a man who would later become a crucial figure in this tale: Surgical expert, Doctor Jerry Anderson.
You didn’t understand what Marlene, your dad, and Mr. Anderson, as you used to call him, were getting at when you were first pulled into that room. All that they were explaining to you was blurring inside of your head.
Because it was unlike anything you had heard before.
Your ears were told a tale that you had heard on numerous occasions. A girl who was only a few years younger than you, was bitten. You weren’t sure how. But it didn’t really matter, did it? Everyone who was bitten turned into an animal in a matter of days. It didn’t matter how she had gotten the bite mark. It didn’t even matter where on her body the mark was. All you knew was that in a few days, this girl that was being described to you, would no longer be human. That she would no longer have control over her body, and she would no longer know right from wrong, up from down, man from woman. All she would know, was kill. Kill. Kill.
Unless she was one in a million.
Ellie Williams was hardly a human in your mind when you originally heard, but a God given chance, to fix the world as you knew it. You never believed you would live to see the day where a bite mark was a good thing, and yet, it was here, gazing you in the eyes.
Immunity. She was immune. The auburn haired girl had been bitten three weeks prior to the date you heard about this, and zilch. As Marlene had explained to you, it was like the mark was healing, not worsening. 
And in a desolate world, where danger lurked every corner, where sorrow was normalized, and where loss was ceaseless, you were desperate. The Fireflies were desperate. Hope like this didn’t come on a daily basis, now, did it?
You jumped on the prospect as soon as you became conscious of it. All of you did.
Graciously unaware that it would blow up in your face.
In the earlier days of 2034, Ellie was smuggled to a Firefly base in Salt Lake City, a medical center, where your dad, Mr. Anderson, and several Fireflies were residing. As head medic by this point, you decided to remain in Boston caring for the members of your group back home, especially in the absence of your dad and Mr. Anderson.
It’s your life’s biggest regret.
Marlene had asked that you come to the Salt Lake City medical center as soon as you could, and to employ someone else to take over for a bit. Mr. Anderson was a good doctor, but he had decided that to perform proper surgery on Ellie, he would need a few more hands. You were honored that it was you he had chosen. To you, it was on the same level as getting an award. And so, alongside Marlene, and a few more members of the group, you made your way to Salt Lake City, your hopes in your hands, and dreams in your heart.
There was a point during the journey, however, where you ran into some trouble. Infected. And naturally, you were not just a medic: You knew how to survive in a world like this, and you knew how to hold your ground.
Splitting up wasn’t usually recommended when it came to any scenario, and for good reasons. However, it was your only choice. You and everyone beside you aside from Marlene, split up to make sure that she was the first one to make it to the medical center. You remember the last thing you said to her like a movie on loop in your head. See you soon.
And it plagues your brain like the virus that grips your world.
See you soon. You wish you had never said it. You wish you had never split up.
You wish it hadn’t happened.
You did see Marlene. But she was no longer alive when it happened. Fear grasped your bones as your body paralyzed, eyes glued to Marlene’s bloody corpse on the second floor of the medical center’s parking garage.
Tears filled your eyes, slipping down your cheeks. And then, you remembered.
Dad.
You took off running, brain not even processing that you could be putting yourself in danger by doing so. Whoever had done this to Marlene couldn’t be faraway from the building for all you knew. Hell, they could even be in it. But you didn’t care.
You booked it to the highest floor, where your dad and Mr. Anderson were supposed to be, heart racing, begging and bargaining to the universe, or whatever God there was, or somebody, to ensure that they were okay. That they were just fine.
There are some days where you wish you hadn’t opened that door.
The pair of them, alongside a third medic in the room, were found by you in a shape similar to Marlene. Naturally, you ran to dad first, small, shaky hands reaching out to flip over his face down body.
But you were too late.
Your mind goes blurry whenever it goes back to recall the memory. You don’t remember much: Tears, nausea, shaking, panic. You remember screaming, loudly, at that.
And you remember passing out, before being pulled out of the room.
The second that Jerry Anderson was announced dead, all hell broke loose, and you knew, you knew, it was over. The chance that had been driving you and your family of Fireflies for the last year, was gone, and it wasn’t coming back. Unless a brand new surgeon was going to generously drop from the sky, you were hopeless. 
And it wasn’t even just that.
Because the universe had taken from you the one person you held closest to your heart. To your soul.
Dad.
You had a chance. You all did. 
And, then, it was robbed away from you.
You and your dying group made your way back to Boston knowing just that: That you were collapsing. The days passed by in blurs, each one gloomier than the last. You just weren’t sure what to do anymore. All hope for a cure was gone. All hope for yourself was gone.
In 2036, the Fireflies were disbanded by what little members of it were around to do so, and that was it. It was over. 
Your home was paradise, and paradise was gone.
You didn’t know what to do. Most of the family you had found here in the Fireflies was leaving, searching for a life away from the one you all had known for years. You didn’t know if you wanted to do the same. Part of you wanted to follow suit and leave Boston. Renew who you were. Adapt, and move on. But Boston had always been home, and by leaving it, you were leaving a part of you behind.
But you didn’t have a choice.
It was an early morning in 2036 when you began to pack your bags, readying to go. Where? It didn’t matter. All you knew was that home or not, Boston carried way too many painful memories, way more than you could bear. Marlene was dead. Mr. Anderson was dead. Dad was gone.
You didn’t see what else Boston had to give, that it hadn’t already taken away.
But just, just, when you were about to say your goodbyes, the universe, who had screwed you over in the past, clearly had different plans.
A few members had heard word, from previous members who had left the Fireflies before you, that on the west coast of the country, there was a chance: A chance to find home again, in a place named Catalina Island, a gorgeous land in California.
Risks had failed you before, and so had second chances. But, for once, you wanted to give in. You had to.
So you did.
That’s not to say that the second you got to Catalina Island, finding home once again in your fellow Fireflies, who were just as shattered as you were, that your tale was over. God, it was really, really far from it.
Because there was one more piece to the puzzle.
Abigail Anderson.
Anderson. The last name rang a bell once it escaped her lips. A blonde woman, body bruised, bloodied, and covered from the arms down in oozing gashes. Her hair was short and poorly cut, and from the way her bones were pushing into her skin, you could tell that she was severely malnourished.
Alongside her was a boy, obviously younger than her. Tousled black hair, bruises wherever you looked, and fully unconscious. In your time at Catalina Island, and as a Firefly in Boston, for that matter, you had never seen any pair of people in worse shape.
Not unless they were dead.
You remained head medic once you arrived in Catalina Island, naturally, and you had been managing that way for the last four years. So, when this woman showed up, this young boy by her side, like this, it was you who took control. It was you who nursed them, and it was you who made their scars, in a physical and mental sense, not disappear, but easier to handle. To bear.
By looking at them, by looking at her, it was like a mirror. You saw you.
Which is why you saw her.
Now, if someone had told you four years prior that this is where you would be today, losing your dad, losing Marlene, and losing Mr. Anderson, but falling for his child, you would’ve looked for a bite mark. But now, come the year 2040, where you had made a new life, one that Abigail Anderson was a prevalent part of, happiness no longer seemed impossible.
Because it wasn’t far away anymore, slipping from your fingers, the way it had on numerous occasions. 
It was in your hands.
And you were in Abby’s.
Your eyes were being covered by Abby’s large hands as she led you to a place unknown. You had to assume it was one of the several beaches on the island, sand under your feet, sounds of waves in your ears. A smile had been plastered across your face for what seemed like hours, as Abby dragged you along.
“Come on, Abby. Are you going to tell me what this is about or what?” you asked her for the second time in the last minute. You could hear her low chuckle from behind you, and the way it always happens, comfort surges into your veins.
You had learned from Abby, once you bonded over the mutual loss of your dad and hers at the same man, that once Mr. Anderson had been killed, her and her friends, a few former members of the Fireflies, joined a group named the WLF. You had hence learned that during her time there, she was commonly known as a rugged, scary person, who a lot of people in the WLF didn’t dare insult, nor disobey.
And you couldn’t lie: It was hard to believe that for a second.
You had learned from Abby, also, that her resolve began to slip when she met the young boy who she had made it to Catalina Island alongside, who you had also taken care of: Lev. To put it simply, Lev was a member of a different group, that the WLF was never supposed to come across.
Not unless it was in war.
But he changed her. He did. Some days, you could see how guarded Abby was, how she couldn’t help going back to all she used to know, which was being all but barbaric when she was in Seattle. Closed off, wary. But most days, like today? You knew in your heart, that deep down in hers, Abby Anderson was good. Not innocent, but good.
And that was enough for you.
“Just come on!” Abby chuckled as she walked, not letting up her hold on your eyes for a second as she led you along.
You smiled, shaking your head in mock disapproval. “I have work to do back at the center, and we’re not supposed to be roaming around like this. You know that, right?”
“Babe,” Abby responded in an almost firm tone of voice as her feet quit moving, forcing you to root your body to the spot. It was silent, before she pressed a series of sweet, sloppy kisses to your neck and cheeks, managing to keep her hand over your eyes all the while. She had you crumbling just like that, making you a giggling mess as her lips met your skin.
Her kisses subsided once a million of them seeped into you, and it wasn’t the island heat that had your face warm when Abby was done. “Can you just trust me, please?” she laughed, and you didn’t need your vision to know she was giving you that puppy dog look that had you falling to your knees every time. The one that you couldn’t resist if you gave it your all.
You were too easy. “Yes.”
It wasn’t long before you and Abby reached where she wanted to bring you, and once you did, she paused. She was perched behind you now, large hands over your face, the solacing sound of her sighs coming into your ears. “Okay. Are you ready, my love?”
There wouldn't ever be a day where Abby calling you that wouldn’t make your heart pound in your chest.
“More than,” you easily respond.
As soon as you said it, Abby returned your vision to you, and your eyes can’t help but widen at what you see before you.
Because you never pegged “rugged” Abby Anderson as one for picnics.
“Oh, my God, Abby,” you said more to yourself than the blonde as you slowly approached the scene. Laid out on the sand of the beach was a picnic blanket, a folded blanket, a few pillows, a basket, a few books, and playing cards.
Accompanied by a perfect view of the beach.
“Do you not like it?” Abby asked, and there’s an air of sadness to the way she says it. You turn to look at her on cue, your face one of complete, utter disbelief.
Like it?
“Like it? Baby, I love this. More than know,” you respond, meaning every word. It’s been a long time since someone has wanted to care for you. A long, long time, since you had been the receiver, not the giver.
“Abs, it’s perfect. You’re perfect.”
You can see Abby blushing as you approach her and take her face into your hands, her freckled skin burning in heat. She leans into your touch, pressing her forehead onto yours, and holding your hands in her own.
“I just,” Abby sighed, opening her eyes once more to meet yours, solemn expression across her cheeks. “I just don’t feel like I cherish you enough, babe, show it, that is. Because believe me, I do cherish you. S’just, it’s been hard for me to show you how much. All that you did for me and Lev when we got to the island. Taking care of us. Helping us find a home here. I’ll spend the rest of my life saying thank you for it.”
You can feel your soul healing the more Abby speaks.
“I know this isn’t nearly enough to make up for what you did for us, and I wish it was. But I just figured, maybe. . .it could suffice for now.”
“Abby, baby,” you let a small laugh escape your lips as you say it. “You don’t have to make it up to me. At all. I did what I did, because I saw someone in you. I remember asking for your name, and you responded by asking me where Lev was. You didn’t even care what shape you were in. All you wanted to know was if he was okay. You reminded me of me.”
“You reminded me of dad.”
You couldn’t help but sigh, letting silence seep into the air around you as your brain battled to process what you had just said. You didn’t speak on your dad as much as you likely should: Abby knew that, and so did you. Talking about him made your chest compress, and your throat would fail you, making it feel as if you were choking. As if you were helpless. As if you were there all over again. But Abby knew as well as you did, that when your dad came into discussion, it was for a certain reason. 
And for that reason, Abby didn’t speak: She hung fire. For you. For you.
“We live in a world where people combat their own morals just to survive. There’s no good guys. No principles, no rules, no laws. Anyone you come across is just as bad as you, and if not, they’re worse. But when I saw you? I knew. I knew that wasn’t you. Not anymore.”
You know you’re rambling by now, saying whatever comes to mind as soon as it does, but you can’t find it in you to care as you go on. “You want to believe I don’t know how much you care for me. But you don’t need to show it, Abby. I know you do. Right here.”
You take one of Abby’s large hands into yours, and as cliché as it is, not that you care at all, you place it over your heart.
“You feel that, don’t you? That’s all for you, baby. And it’s there that I feel how much you care about me. It’s there that I know.”
The same silence that was here before comes back. But this time, it’s not sad, or dark, or eerie. It’s solacing. It’s warm. It’s home.
And Abby doesn’t need words in order to respond.
It’s her turn to take your face into her hands as she pulls you in close. Her lips meet yours like they have so many times before, her familiar scent hitting your nose as you settle your hands onto her hips. The kiss is slow, and sweet, but passionate, and a burning desire surges inside you to never let her go, to always hold her close. To always call her yours.
You pull back from the kiss once you tire from it, gasping, Abby’s body mimicking yours as she does the same. You gaze into her eyes, the pretty blue ones that always make your heart swell, smiling up at her as you press one last kiss to her lips for good measure. “I adore you, Abby Anderson. You know that, right?” you grin.
It’s the first time you ever hear her giggle. “Me more than you, gorgeous.”
You spend hours there alongside Abby, and it’s the best time of your life. You spend time indulging in a few snacks the blonde packed for you, playing cards, and running around and playing in the sand, smiling all the way. You even get to hear Abby read to you, one of the most endearing things in the world, accompanied by the calming sound of the ocean before you. And when it came time for sunset, you sat down beside Abby, gazing on as amber, ochre, and rose faded into night.
It was perfect.
When it was nearly time for the evening to come to an end, you used the second blanket Abby had packed for your shared night to cuddle up beside her, heads rested on the pillows she had carried along as well. The side of your face was pressed into her chest as you gazed into the sky above you, Abby’s hand rubbing your back in slow circles to console you. Small suns coat the evening sky like sweet, powdered sugar, accompanied by a full moon that looks incredible over the horizon. All you could hear was the sound of the ocean, alongside Abby sighing gingerly every once in a while, or her pressing kisses to your forehead.
Not that you needed much more than that.
Suddenly, the sound of Abby chuckling in your ears snaps you out of your head, and you turn your face upwards curiously. Abby’s smile makes you smile, and it’s no surprise you began to wonder what the blonde woman found so funny all of a sudden.
“Remember how I told you Lev and I had to cross those bridges that were really high up?” Abby asked, and you had to raise an eyebrow, wondering where this was going. “Mhm,” you mumble, which is when Abby goes on.
“Well, before that, we had to get there by foot once we got out of the aquarium I told you about, the one I used to go to all of the time. That part of Seattle is overrun in rushing rapids, so a lot of the buildings around there were a lot more demolished than they usually would be anywhere else,” she explained.
“And, well. . .”
“We walked into this building, and there was a painting of these dogs playing cards. And I asked Lev if he knew our dogs could really play cards like that. Then he asked me if anyone found me funny,” Abby laughed. “It cracks me up whenever I remember it.”
She wasn’t the only one laughing. “Sounds like Lev. And like you,” you smile, and the tale makes you recall a humorous memory of your own. “Once, I was working late at the medical center back in Boston. I was doing research on this girl who had been feeling sick, but I wasn’t sure by what. Mind you, it’s late, and silent, if you don’t count me flipping the pages in my books.”
You giggle just remembering it. “It’s the weirdest thing ever, but my dad was really good at making Clicker noises. Like, really good. Sounded so real it made your heart drop. I was reading when I heard it, and I remember wondering how the hell infected had gotten inside. ‘Course I grab what was closest to me, a scalpel, and I swivel around.”
“And it’s dad.”
That one got Abby to burst out chuckling. “Oh, my God. Of all the things you could get, gorgeous. A scalpel?”
You rolled your eyes in response, playfully so. “What can I say? I’m just a medic. I didn’t carry a gun.”
Once Abby’s done laughing, which seems to take forever, she smiles down at you, pressing one more kiss to your forehead as if to make up for poking fun at you. You cuddle closer into her, letting your body relax in her embrace as a sigh escapes your lips.
You fall back into silence soon enough, eyes glued to the sky as Abby rubs her hand over your back, holding you like you would fade away if she let you go. You run your fingers through her short hair as you press kisses to her neck, jaw, and face, giving her all the love you know she deserves. Your eyes scan her features like she was molded by some higher power, and you can’t help but want to worship her, endlessly.
Not just for what she looks like. But for who she is.
“My baby. It’s like you were made for me, you know?” you whisper in Abby’s ear as your eyes pierce into her blue ones. But Abby’s head shook quickly.
You can predict what she’s going to say in response. “No, gorgeous.”
“It’s you who was made for me.”

i never realised just how much tgb had changed how i thought about the characters (mostly vee) until yesterday when i was re-looking over my toh fan-art. You wrote them so well that i forgot that it wasnt all in the show. like how vee and gus weren't shown to being best friends, vee never got to be angry/shocked by hunter or just willow still holding a little grudge against amity. They are just cool details and im so clad they were added! ps your great

I really like Vee, and the more I think about the gang's time in the human-realm, the more I sit back in my chair and think "Ah man, these arcs are really necessary and interesting though.."
Vee also holds a lot of plot, as a basilisk. We can speculate what the reason is that they were extinct, for example (grimwalkers were extinct too).
Wat I really enjoy about TOH's characters are how easily and smoothly they weave into each other's themes and arcs. Their personalities and histories makes them all perfect friends to both build them up and break them down. It's a chefs kiss.
Vee is no different! The set-up for her character was perfectly slotted in to what the other characters needed for their time in the human-realm. And the theme I think the human-realm was supposed to embody.
The demon-realm arc for Luz was a hero's journey, but because of the foil of the trope, and that the point was that: there is no hero/chosen one actually, and the rebels didn't make it in time like in the books, and just because it's a different realm it didn't mean Luz could escape - escapism is temporary.
Dana has said grief and hope are core elements of the story, and she chose to tell it through a foiled trope of being chosen/hero's journey, layered with a religious trauma lens.
To me, looking at Luz as the main character, means looking at her as a nerdy girl in need of escapism, wanting to find purpose, and avoiding her emotions about her dad's passing.
The return to human-realm would be, for Luz, a turning point where TOH turns from being about a hero's journey and a journey about the steps of grief and healing - at the end of it, she will find the light.
Vee, to me, is kind of like a new take on the guide character. She is not a guide, in the sense that she has all the answers, but rather all the truths.
She was right when she told Luz she had everything and still chose to run away. They're not the same. Vee is also a lot better than Luz at being normal and fitting in, something Luz has been playing off and avoiding facing. Luz sees herself as being different as a bad thing, she tried to run away to a place where "weird" was normal and that didn't work out. Now she's back home and feels that it's all her fault bad things happened, because she is herself. And the person she is is different. And different didn't mean special, just different. Of course she's depressed.
The same is true for all the other characters. Vee gets to reflect their truths too, simply by being crafted, narratively, into being the guide.
Hunter gets to face his actions as the GG, come to terms with the nuances of his bad actions, whatever reason he committed what he did. Find forgiveness not just from Vee but himself too. He gets to start over, just like her. She shows him it's possible.
Gus gets someone to share his dream with, his love and enthusiasm for the human realm. A place that Vee feels is more home than where she came from. Gus gets to grow as a person, both morally and intelligently. As does Vee, she gets somebody who shows her that she doesn't just have to be a refugee, she can have a purpose here. She can be an ambassador.
Willow was set up to have an arc where she mistook her newfound magical and physical strengths (she is working out a lot in canon after she changed track), for inner strengths. Willow is a sensitive girl, and a bit of a berserk (I mean she was willing to burn her own mind just to hurt Amity). Willow having to face Vee, who isn't physically stronger than her but is significantly further down the road of being internally strong, is something Willow can learn from. Perhaps even have conflict with! (but more so a conflict with herself than with Vee, really.)
With Amity, Vee has a simpler role. I think to Amity it's more so showing that it's possible to live in the human realm, and giving her hope that going back and forth is a future for everyone who wishes to do so. Creatively speaking, I think Amity and Vee more so to bounce off one another for the plot, rather than character growth or decline.
Camila, I think, is the most interesting. Because she has now spent approximately a year with Vee, half of it thinking she was Luz and having feelings about her daughter having changed so much, the line "I'm glad youre still creative" comes to mind. As well as the terror of losing Luz again. But also, because she has had her own unseen arc and development with Vee, and them having bonded into a foster family that we never got to see glimpses of, it goes without saying that Camila has already done the internal work to take on more kids if that's necessary. I think she saw these kids by her door and thought "yep. They're mine now too." The character designs of the characters in HB/HH get more and more frustrating and awful the more you know about the actual biblical/mythological characters that they are supposed to be based on.
Paimon’s design is not bad on its own, but knowing that he’s supposed to be PAIMON, the king from the Ars Goetia who is in the text described as being a feminine-presenting man riding a camel. But instead we get another fucking BIRD and it’s just so frustrating.
And he’s related to Stolas?! No where that I’ve read or seen has even hinted at them even being related in the original texts that they’re supposed to be drawing from.
And the Seven Deadly Sins is a whole other basket of issues.
Lucifer doesn’t even look intimidating in the slightest and if you showed me a picture of him and I had no idea of who he was, I wouldn’t even know he was the infamous fallen angel we all know as Lucifer.
Asmodeus reminds me of a pumpkin that someone stuck a bunch of fur onto and then put it all on a body.
Beelzebub isn’t even an INSECT!!! It’s in the NAME, BEE-LZEBUB!!!
And Mammon looks like a knock off Christmas tree. No further comments.
And don’t even get me started on the so-called “Full Demon Forms.”
You cannot convince me that those are good designs when all they do is make them bigger and more fiery. These are supposed to be the living embodiments of sin themselves and they feel so underwhelming.
Its just so frustrating (I’m repeating that word, but it’s the best way I can describe my feelings), because there is so much you can do with the lore of these characters (the original lore not the show lore) and the amount of creativity I’ve seen from other artists (such as Lovesart23) is astounding and wonderful to look at and follow along with.
Really the only nice thing I can say about Stolas is that his full demon form was genuinely cool and it really gave off the vibe that “this is an ancient demon of hell.”

A strict dad with high expectations who doesn’t believe in Charlie’s dreams. I was so ready for that story to be told. And now i feel like he’s a teenager with all of his massive authority just gone? I wonder if he even has a demonic form?
Isn’t it funny that Stolas gets an official demon name, his father who only appears once, gets a demonic name, his ex brother in law who only appears once so far and had no introduction at all, also gets a demonic name, but the Wife and Daughter of stolas, his core story, just get human names???
They chose to make stolas a son of Paimon to retcon him into being Blitzs childhood “friend” and to make it look like he’s just like blitz he has a mean dad too! Blech.
While I love the character “Paimon” I found him funny, charming, and delightfully evil, he could have had any other name and been as good. According to some content he’s actually a shape shifter with many forms, but chose the bird form because stolas is an owl, and that’s why he said “the owl boy” and why Asmodeus calls him “birdy babe” watch stolas have like, elephant and goat brothers and sisters or something next. The Stolas and Stella family is just the avian part of the Ars Goetia apparently? Idk. I’d love to know if Stella has a maiden name. I’m still upset actually that Stella didn’t get a demonic name of her own, neither did Octavia, but Andrealphus, a nothing character, gets an official demon name??? Why not just pick a Goetia name and gender swap it like with Beelzebub and Belphegor??? The sexism is unbelievable. Especially Via what a wasted opportunity.
Making him white and British though..I’d be so mad if I were a Middle Eastern person and saw that be erased, what a joke

'tis i, the purveyor of fem!kinnporsche lookbooks, this time bearing kimchay. if you missed the kinnporsche one it's here. if you didn't, you know the drill, thoughts and refs beneath the cut.
okay let's start with kim:
i'm gonna be real with you folks: i struggled hard with fem!kim. in my head, kim much like fem!kinn is someone who uses her clothes to send messages, but where kinn is trying to communicate power and authority, kim is instead using her clothes to adopt different personas or elements of her personality. and so, i can see fem!kim wearing nearly everything, basically.

so, return customers may notice something odd about kim: i gave her different poses for each of her personas. why? i think kim is someone who embodies a lot of different personas, and i think the change is more than skin deep.
this was very much the first set i drew. the brief for these outfits in my head was something like "k-pop kim possible". also a lot of these were drawn when i still had covid lmao so i barely remember most of it.
it was very important to me that kim had a wolf cut. that fact came to me the moment i started thinking about fem!kim. so. you know. you're welcome.
runing errands (first outfit) - this one was the first outfit i drew for kim, and it was mostly summoned up from my own head. i spent a lot of time scrolling through pinterest before i started drawing. in my head, this is sort of what she wears when she's out and about as wik but not like, performing or whatever. still a very crafted image, but a little more casual than her performance gear.
performance (second outfit) - this one does have a ref! i found this image on pinterest and was like yes. this one. i thought long and hard about what i wanted wik's fashion and persona to be, because i debated going along the family friendly singer-songstress route, but in the end i figured she had to be cool and a little edgy. hence [gestures at the clothes].
award show/red carpet (third outfit) - this one's kind of fun. longtime listeners will recall that i started drawing these lookbooks bc @mortimerlatrice told me they didn't think fem!kinn would wear dresses and i had to disprove them -- so i thought it'd be fun if for kim, she only wore dresses when on mafia business. kim in a dress is a blaring warning signal that you're gonna get your shit rocked. so, kim's award show look is a pantsuit. she doesn't wear dresses at all as wik. there was definitely a reference image for this one, but i drew the entirety of this first set when i had covid, so i don't think i saved it OTL
detective wikachu aka mafia kim
another fun detail you might notice about mafia!kim -- she's always got her hair up. that was also deliberate. also holy shit this set killed me so bad. we'll get there.
running errands (detective errands) (first outfit) - this is what kim wears when she's gotta blackmail randos for info. fairly casual, all things told, but very different in vibe to her wik stuf. also the pattern on that suit is incredibly simple but it took me 45 mins to create bc i still had covid brainfog at this point. the reference for this look was celine's spring/summer 2021 rtw collection look 24.
visiting dad (to snoop) (second outfit) - another source of debate for me. what, exactly, does kim send as a message to her father when she comes back home? i played with the idea of her wearing a sort of perfectly pretty mafia princess disguise, but i don't think that's what she'd use to get on her father's good side. so, she's wearing a dress (fuck your shit up vibes for her) but it's got a strong vibe to it. so, i had to go with alexander mcqueen, which is one of my favourite designers. this one is specifically alexander mcqueen pre-fall 2022 look 17.
at a gala (mafia-flavoured) also to snoop (third outfit) - oh my god you guys will not believe how many of these i went through. i even fully drew another option before discarding it completely. (originally, i was going to go with erdem pre-fall 2023 look 8 which i drafted here but i just didn't vibe with it the more i worked on it. i guess it felt a little too princessy? so i pivoted.) this one is from another of those designers i actually really like, zuhair murad. this one's from fall 2022 couture, specifically look 38. very much love at first sight. the moment i saw it, i knew i was gonna draw it. and oh boy did drawing it make me suffer. that bead pattern on the dress? killed me. actually killed me. fucking OW. worth it though.
family portrait (fourth outfit) - after all the suffering of kim's formal look this one was comparatively a breeze. found a pic on pinterest, and whoosh i went drawing. the reference is here.
chay!kim
this set is very much what it says on the tin, the clothes kim wears around chay. let's go.
guitar tutoring (first outfit) - okay so in my head the brief for this one was "what kim thinks chay thinks wik wears on her downtime", which very much sets the tone for the entire outfit. i just think it's fun if kim twists herself out of sorts with how clever she is and then chay just bulldozes straight through that. i don't actually have a reference for this one. just drew it.
rescue chay (second outfit) - this is what kim wears to go save chay from the tawan kidnapping. i dubbed this one "when you got library study session at 9, rescue bae at 12, and cyberpunk revolution at 3". the loose inspo for this one was this dress on pinterest which i tracked to the brand ganni and then found they no longer made.
say no to drugs, chay (third outfit) - okay so i wanted this outfit to be like. a wake up call to chay. the first time chay sees kim in a skirt, and the first time chay realises that maybe kim is a little dangerous. it's alexander mcqueen (ofc it is) and actually in the time between me drawing this and posting it, someone actually wore the skirt from this look on the red carpet. it's the spring 2023 rtw collection, look 24. salma hayek wore the skirt to the 2023 brits here.
the youtuber apology video fit (fourth outfit) - the brief here was "kim forcibly bolting on hinges". the idea was to kind of soften her mafia edges but leave the cornerstones of how she dresses for that very much there. so, dress, hair up, but much more relaxed. this outfit is from tommy hilfiger's spring 2023 rtw collection, specifically look 17.
onto chay:
chay was really hard to start with, i'm going to be real. i think the sum total for my notes when i started was just one word: dungarees? as i drew more of her i started to think of her as someone who thrifts and then alters a lot of her clothes. i wanted colour and patterns, and i suffered for them. by god did i suffer.
a few lil headcanons i have about her:
i think chay probably finds it easy to be considered cute and hard to move out of that box. i think there's a part of chay that wants to be sexy the way porsche is (ESPECIALLY if this is a fem!porsche universe) but doesn't know how to go about trying to achieve that. she had to ask yok how to teach her how to apply eyeliner bc porsche doesn't know how to and doesn't care to learn.
i think the role of like, female role model/influence in chay's life is later taken up by fem!kinn, who is full of the kind of advice porsche would be horrified to hear given to her precious baby sister.
chay has short hair because when she had long hair porsche was obsessed with getting her the right shampoos and conditioners and stuff to take care of it (probs based on some internalised stuff from when porsche was at school and girls would mock her for her split ends) so chay just puts a stop to that by cutting all her hair off and it turns out she kind of likes it? so she keeps it.
casual outfits
i drew all these patterns myself. from scratch. you're welcome.
green dungarees (first outfit) - the reference image is here. this was the first look i drew and also the moment i realised how stupid i was to choose a "fun" foot pose for chay. this caused no end of suffering going forward.
orange dungarees (second outfit) - ref here. here i started to regret the pattern aspect of my chay design. also those messy canvas ankle boots killed me to draw. they were so hard.
sweater vest (third outfit) = MORE FUCKING PATTERNS. i also had a reference for this one somwhere but i was drawing this whilst playing dnd so i think it just got lost.
special outfits
school uniform (first outfit) - i did a bit of looking into school uniforms in thailand and from what i can tell they basically all look very similar. idk if the lilac shirt + navy skirt combo is standardised for girls but it was pretty much all i found when i went looking. also she has a long skirt because when she and porsche bought it for her, they bought a really big one that she could wear all through school.
one (1) smart dress (second outfit) - the idea here is that this is the one smart item of clothing that chay has, and it's the one-size-fits-all-occasions dress. it's dark so it can be worn to funerals. it's somewhere between business and formal so it can be worn to both those kinds of occasions. it was based on this dress i found on pinterest.
going to a concert with friends (third outfit) - i... just wanted to put chay in a bucket hat? yeah that's all i have. no ref. just my mind.
porsche's first paycheque present (fourth outfit) - the idea here was that after getting some money from the whole mafia thing, porsche buys this as a present for chay. maybe it's a dress chay's always looked at when they walk past it in a shop window? this is a slight tweak on this dress by alaia. the original's like £2k which i cannot picture porsche and chay spending on a dress but shhh it's fine.
post-kim
these are the outfits from after the whole kim debacle goes down. i just really wanted to draw goth chay. and really, who wouldn't?
break-up era #1 (first outfit) - at this point i was just having way too much fun. the pattern took for-fucking-ever on the skirt though, because i thought i'd just cheekily re-use the dungaree flower pattern with colour changes but oh no that didn't work at all. i had to edit it so much. the reference is here. here her hair is freshly dyed blue, and she's given herself a little heartbreak undercut. you go girl.
say no to drugs chay (second outfit) - this is what chay is wearing when kim points at that rando in the club who offers chay drugs. you see all of the goth reference images i was finding were just too clean-cut and employable, you know? so torn fishnets it was. the refence i found for this is here but i changed it up bc i couldn't see chay wearing a little nightdress to go clubbing no matter how heartbroken she was.
visiting mum (third outfit) - in this one, in my head, chay has dyed her hair back to normal, but she's still got the undercut, so she straightens her hair and pins a little of it over the short bit to try and appear a little more normal chay to her mum. very simple outfit, no refs.
family portrait (fourth outfit) - there's a part of me which delights in this implied scenario because i just think it's funny if chay and kim are posing for a family portrait with kinnporsche and chay's ready to ignore the fuck out of kim and pretend like she doesn't care about her staring but then kim is in full-hide-any-weakenesses mode because korn's there so now chay's the one staring. relationship status: it's very awkward. anyway fashion wise i wanted two things from chay's outfit: for it to be simpler than any of the theerapanyakuls' and for it to be in a lighter shade of porsche's colour (blue). the reference was this cool dress i found on pinterest.

My dad's side of the family is from Slovakia, and a very mystical, sensory sort of Catholicism is part of my heritage. That's always felt strange
I was raised by pagan and Daoist influenced agnostics--my first drawing of god was a tree. Then, I was an asshole Dawkins-Influenced Rational Atheist from middle school til early college, bullied both by other students and by teachers in a heavily Christian area.
I hated Christianity and by extension Catholicism, even though I'd never bothered to learn about where it's rooted in my grandparents' experiences. Now I have strong feelings about Christianity for other reasons--a weapon of colonization isn't neutral. I feel that even as I honor and understand how integral it is to many peoples' senses of safety, comfort, and hope, and how it is a lens through which many people experience true divinity.
Now that my grandma is gone, I have so many regrets. She was the spiritual heart of the family even as she was also a rigorously scientifically minded woman. She was a lab tech before she got married, and everyone who knew her agrees she'd have been happier as a scientist than as a mother
She was a force of nature, powerful and strong willed. I don't know how she felt about herself but I see her as a witch from a heritage of equally spiritual, powerful, intense, in-charge women. She fought for immigrant rights, and worked in hospice and in prisons as a spiritual counselor. She didn't feel motherly or comforting--she simply felt like a strong woman with absolute core respect for every human being's dignity.
When I was growing up I couldn't reconcile all of who she was with her burning devout Catholicism. It seemed fantastical and morbid to me. The imagery and the heavy heavy layers of ritual. Now that I'm older and have talked to a lot of my family about her, i know she FELT Mary and Jesus, she didn't simply follow what she was told.
What I'd give to talk to her again. To hear what the rituals and prayer felt like to her. How she melded her curious and evidence-based nature and love of science with her practices. My feelings on Catholicism are still complicated, but after she passed, I have such deep regret for never talking to her about her experiences. They must have been so unique and personal.
I remember her writing a letter for her church bulletin and making my grandpa sign his name to it, because of his inherent social power as a man--about supporting gay marriage. This was 2008. I remember as a hospice worker, how she asserted a right to perform last rites as a woman. How she chose to go on birth control. That she loved my feral genderless self who couldn't stand her church, without ever saying a single word to try and convince me of her faith. So many small stories and moments.
I was so small minded and immature, growing up. Catholicism was just a funny outdated delusion to me.
My dad, a spiritual agnostic, told me that the heavy ceremony and ritual of her Catholic funeral, the smoke, carrying her casket, were deeply meaningful to him. They helped his mourning process along in a way the nondenominational scattering of ashes after couldn't.
I really feel like in this push for "progress" and "rationality" most Americans have lost ritual and trancelike, embodied spirituality.
Lost our experience of metaphor as reality on some level, and our sheer awe for the divine. It hurts my heart that Christianity is the lens through which so many of us translate all of this, but I've matured past a childish hatred for the people who feel it and don't/can't put in the work to pull it apart from the literal framework built into their brains
And I just wish I'd found that sooner.

I have come to rant and vent about Jack from Wonder Woman 2023 and why they are a transgender/TRANSFEM allegory.

I would like to preference this by saying that you can feel represented through this character for a multitude of reasons regardless of being trans or not but I personally think they’re some sort of transfem allegory and I’m here to talk about why because 1) its my blog and 2) I am obsessed and I’m here to argue that they are transfem, a transfem allegory or at the very least transfem coded.
Who is Jack?

“Jack” is an extreme Wonder Woman “fanboy” that we know is ill, their tests have been coming up slim and they've had a multitude of doctors come and try and cure them and to give them a couple of good memories before they pass, their parents ask Wonder Woman to spend a day with them.

From their timid nature, I assume that a lot of their life they feel like an experience is ruined if they're involved or feel apologetic if they're not perfect all the time. This to me makes me think “Jack” likes to try and embody Wonder Woman during stressful or traumatizing situations. They idealized her to never be afraid, anxious, or quiet.

There’s this montage that features “Jack” doing a bunch of things that an Amazon would do like archery, wearing the armory, or eating the fruit, but also things that Wonder Woman would do like use her lasso, throw her tiara or sword fight, etc.
It makes me think “Jack” wanted to spend their time doing things that made them feel strong, things that could really immerse them into the Wonder Woman experience. Something they probably yearned for themselves, probably used imagining themselves in the life of an Amazon to escape.

Point 1.
“I don't think this should be what I… like.”
There are expectations for you in the world, and certain people, most of the time a trans girl will feel the pressure that she should be this way or act this way but they simply can’t because it's not how their brains work, it's not how they function, and when you're told otherwise you start to think there’s something deeply wrong with you like you’re broken.
Point 2.
“It’s my dad… and the other kids.”

Trans people, you ever have the dad or either parent feel like they can’t support you and you have the desire to be called your gender but they avoid calling you gendered things at all like “Boy” or “Girl” and avoid gendered things entirely by just calling you “Kid” or “child”? Because that is what this feels like. A relationship between a father and son is strong but when the son shows disinterest in that relationship then the father feels rejected. Their happiness to have a son feels strained and they begin to wonder how they should interact with the child.
“Jack” also feels like their dad doesn't support them and their interests, be it something happening off-panel or the natural feeling trans youth feel like they’re being subtly judged by their parent even though they don't want to say it. That along with their community judging them to their face and ostracizing them for being different.
Point 3.
“Why can't I like Superman or Batman and… I don't know… Baseball and like normal stuff? For a boy? Why is this good?”
Boys feel represented through Superman or Batman, a strong invincible, and macho man. Not a woman, why does Wonder Woman make “Jack” feel seen for the first time in their life? Why does the world of a woman give “Jack” so much escapism? Do you get where I’m going with this?
Point 4.
“Is it because I’m sick inside? Is that why God made me sick?”
It's the idea that inside you, regardless of what you may look like the stuff inside you makes you sick and wrong. The person inside you that you've been holding onto for so long. It's like you feel impure and sinful and like you deserve to be punished for something you didn't ask for cause then maybe the punishment will make everything feel right again.
This to me at the very least sounds like the typical “Superboy trapped in a Wonder Girl’s body” if you know what I mean. I know they're coming to terms with their death and this character might die but I hope they don't, I really do.
This character was supposed to reach out from the pages and touch the reader who relates to it most, like making male Wonder Woman fans feel seen… but how come it reduced me; a trans girl Wonder Woman fan to tears? I felt that I connected to Wonder Woman, I felt my gender through her just like “Jackie” probably does. I selfishly want to see more of them personally.

Author!!! We know how RO are against puppy eye’s from MC
But how are they to puppy eyes from their baby or toddler?
Cassandra: 5/10 - It does melt her heart and she might bend on small things every now and then; like 15 more minutes before bed. But otherwise she refuses to be pushed around by her kids, she is a strict mom; embodiment of "I'm not your friend, I'm your mom" though she does it 100% out of love.
Valeria: 9/10 - She is the exact opposite of Cass, she is her kids best friend and prefers trying to talk them into doing what they should. But if they look at her all cute and want to stay up all night they can, but that won't stop them from having to wake up early; she would warn them. So, they can do what they want at their own risk.
Tomás: 8/10 - He loves his babies and would die or kill for them no question asked. They are his world and they mostly get what they want from him, but at the end of the day he is a good dad. So there does come times when he has to suck up the pain that feels like a stab in the heart that always comes when he has to deny them what they want, for their own good. The sad puppy eyes only adds more pain, like an extra cannonball through the chest. Definitely hurts him more then them.

Ludovica: 100/10 - Would die before making her babies sad. Her absolute everything right next to MC, I mean; she adores them because they have bits of MC in them (either by blood or personality). Her babies are basically angels sent directly from heaven in her eyes, pure perfection. When she falls in love; she is down bad for MC, she is basically under the ground for her kids.
Aurelio: 9/10 - Also a simp for MC, still a simp for his kids. He would go above and beyond for them, he is also forever the fun parent so any stupid idea the kids want to do will 100% be indulged to some degree. And trust me, as I have said before; any kids of his will be stupid little geniuses just like their father. But he also would make damn sure to make them value what they have, they won't be spoiled and realize just how blessed they are to be given what they have. They use their puppy dog eyes knowing full well that with great power comes great responsibility. They honestly would probably beg their dad to help fun crazy charity ideas and he 100% will and do so very proudly. His financial advisors will be weeping quite profusely though.
Elio: 7/10 - Treats his kids better than most people. Indulges them quite a lot and can be very easily swayed by them. Similarly to Val, he will remind them of consequences of their actions however. "Yeah you can jump on the bed even though MC told you not to, but don't cry when you fall- oh well, there you go. Oh hush now, it can't of hurt that bad. Do you at least see why they told you not to do it now? Don't get mad at me when your the one who did it, quit crying and we can get some sweets before MC gets home. I won't tell them if you don't."

What are your thoughts over the movie? I have some myself (and a mild mental breakdown over the Thing™), but overall, it was good. I want to talk about it with anyone, lol
Okay, so....
Spoilers below the cut:
Firstly, I loved it. You can tell how much effort they put into this movie, and it really shows. Kudos to everyone involved.
Things I liked:
Piper Rubio did amazing. No comment beyond that. Abby is one of my favorite characters now, and if anything happens to her, I'll cry.
Actually, all the kids did a wonderful job. Especially Grant Feely. He really embodied that creepy, restless spirit vibe.
Mike and Abby's sibling relationship was everything to me!
Vanessa asking Mike if he wants to dance with her (OMG).
The Springbonnie suit looked great!
Mike having a little bit of an attitude (I love him so much)!
The animatronics were cool. I like that they took the time to make them seem friendly, and almost childlike, before switching gears.
Things I didn't like:
I'm not an expert on filmmaking, so excuse me if I'm wrong here. But the pacing was all over the place. The first act of the movie was perfect, and then the second act was....fast. Like fast-fast. Based on what other people are saying, I'm 99.9% sure they cut out a lot of footage.
This one might come back to bite me in the ass later, but some plotlines felt unnecessary. I know this is FNAF and complicated is written somewhere between Freddy and Fazbear, but did we really need some side plot about an evil aunt? They didn't go anywhere with it, and we still don't know what happened to her. Did Golden Freddy K.O her? Kill her? Who knows? Because we certainly don't. We see her legs, and then she's never mentioned again.
I don't know if this is controversial, but I hate that Vanessa's an Afton. Maybe it's because I was so set on Mike being an Afton, but I really, really hate that they changed it. (I'll elaborate on that more down below).
I felt like they could have given us some more background. Some more flashbacks to the 80s. Anything.
I know I'm being overdramatic, but having the plot twist be Vanessa's an Afton kind of killed all my excitement. Which is stupid, I know, but yeah....
I mean, I'm still going to write fanfictions about the movie, and about all the ways that Mike Schmidt is actually Michael Afton.

I have a feeling that William knows Mike better than he's letting on. Of course, he did kidnap Garrett, who could have told William everything about Mike. He could have also watched the news and seen Mike with his parents, asking for Garrett to come home.
But that's not the vibe i was getting from William during the office scene. But I'll let you all decide for yourselves:
William Afton is a skilled manipulator and actor, but the expression he makes looking down at his coffee doesn't scream, "holy shit, the brother of my victim is sitting in my office." He has no reason to look concerned. Mike has no idea who he is, and he isn't even looking at William. So, why put on a show?
Also, the change in his attitude is telling. He went from cold and distant to personable in a heartbeat.
Of course, there's always the possibility that I'm totally wrong, and William is scared he's been found out. Which could be true, given that he doesn't hesitate to fuck Mike up the second he's able to.

In the same vein, why would William Afton-a guy known for killing/kidnapping kids around the pizzeria, or at least close to the pizzeria-drive to the middle of nowhere, pick a random kid, and kill him? I know he's crazy, but I don't buy it.
Some people are saying that Garrett is a Charlie parallel, and that Mike is Henry's son. Which could be the case, I mean, we see a mechanic in the training video that bears a striking resemblance to the actor that plays Mike's dad. I don't know if those two things are connected, but it's interesting to point out.
But, like I said, it's weird that William went out of his way to kidnap a kid for no reason. And he likely wasn't in a costume (at least I hope he wasn't, because if he was and no one saw who took Garrett, I think a kidnapped child is the least of their worries.) So, how did he convince Garrett, who was by himself for a grand total of five second, to get in the car? Maybe he offered him candy or toys? I dunno.
I might go into all the evidence/theories so far that Mike's an Afton in another post. And where they're going with Garrett's character. But yeah....

anyways Chevrotain is a bard right, they usually manipulate people with their words, a lot of deception and persuasion bonuses, so they are a very deceitful and as a result they are a very distrusting person.
the song is about a girl who was raised to be a compulsive liar - when she accidentally broke her dad's ship in a bottle - her mom told her to lie to get out of trouble and it worked, so she kept lying and lying and lying to get herself out of situations.
the song ends with a near death experience, but all she can think in her dying moments is how her parents are going to lie about her existence just to avoid the hassle of dealing with her death.

so this song is more to baby Tain's perspective, that they are now living in a stinky swamp in the Feywild and sleeping on a cold slab of stone instead of the cozy foster home they were in before..

saw across the spider verse finally and this is my first post of many to excise this conflict the movies of miles have left in me since the very first one:
the copaganda wasn't subtle the first time neither was it this time but it did surprise me that gwenvs dad implied he quit like telling us that maybe his morals cannot come from abiding a code he doesn't have a say in? and i think they planted the seeds with hobie too, like there's even the scenes that try to justify the cops existing in a spider story as staples of his myth, those things felt more like that, justification for still talking about them in relation to heroism, because honest to god the movie doesn't seem able to come up with examples of cops helping lmfao, did they even notice? like did the writers notice? but honestly with both hobie and that line from gwen's dad i had a glimmer of hope
but that keeps falling short when i have to look at jefferson, like in the comics his stints with the law are more a contract to his desire to be good to the people he loves, like a tool almost, the fact that the movies went a step further to make him loyal to it is profoundly disgusting specially when i look at how rio who was supposed to be the one most heroic to miles, a nurse, was reduced in favor of raising jefferson the cop to stardom, like fuck, that has always felt so superficial and trite for a spider man myth, but it used to be that the conflict was because it put into question the morality from the law as something incomplete and rigid and ultimately useless against the threats the heroes come against, which are representative of the society the heroes and all their ills are meant to embody
heroism is what these cops are meant to represent for the writers and animators like that's the issue, that's why we fuckers of color complain, because today right now, people and cops and professionals and people with power keep pretending that cops can be called heroes, that they can take up the mantle of one of the most precious parts of society which is communicating the morals of a time as if they could be the only ones that could in their hands the understanding of the myth of good and evil in the time they inhabit, but it's all a lie like are people this blind to themselves, they're just human, they're just fucking people like us, they can't hold nothing for shit because they're also people who have been told to use power as their life and truth, a hero is so many fucking things but he who holds all truths, he's not, often the hero shows us the journey to be able to inhabit, create, mold and be those truths, but also that we could inhabit the lies so easily, if the hero falls so do the people so does the nation, and cops want to be entrusted with that story but they don't see it, they don't that they're not asking like people or heroes but like gods like myths, and it's crazy that this world wants to keep pretending that when someone says they are a cop, as if they truly were it, they're but playing mockeries of human beings, because all they do is enforce power they do not understand, and just because this movie managed once again to try to put the cops against the spider scenes people are eating it? when the text it self could only give us good actions of the cops in relations to their kids and families? when the writers comfortably ignored the social impact of the story of spider this time around in favor of the personal conflict which ended up falling short for me and other fuckers of color because of how many fucking times they couldn't stay away from implying cops are just good people and not the bunch of fucking criminals the state has sanctioned as executors of its will specially against black and brown kids in the us like you have got to be disconnected from reality to be able to ignore all that frfrfrfr
it's just not the story of our times you know? that cops are do gooders... they can't literally be, they're meant to embody power, and power is just power too, it all depends on who wields it, which tells you what being a cop really is, and ofc the military and other things that have to defer to command to call themselves functional, they're naught but tools, extensions of the state, when it comes to exercising power in today's society is all about functionality and quality and maintaining a machine, and thus we got eugenics and racism and discrimination so that people can form themselves into tools to enforce systems of oppression to others so that wr can become, we call this all morality and capitalism and whiteness keep pretending there's only one way to be and define ourselves and what we learn, perverts all into becoming money and abuses to protect the power gives participants in our dehumanization, we have to consider the story of this world fr, that there are abuses in place today because of history that they're tied to skin, that they're tied to identity and the disparities represent our inability to compromise into making life fair and humane for all, those who are not deemed are those who are not picture perfect functions of the system, race usually comes tied to a perception of less humanity, of ableism, of being born as less because of it, do people not see it or are they just good st ignoring their own words?
it's insidious that the story keeps pretending that jefferson morales is able to stand for the entire police and on top of that they imply that that's what would happen with jefferson dead like rio didn't die in the comics and it just made miles want to do good like as much as i enjoyed the twist by the end it doesn't sit right with me but at the same time they sort of implied that it's all about the superhero, so like idk part of. me think there's actually a division in the writing room, and by the end what's given me hope for that story to maybe break was hobie and gwen's storylines, albeit gwen's a bit more ambiguous it feels close to what jefferson should represent how miles does things that jefferson finds conflict and how maybe he cant keep supporting power but i just don't know how many people understand that either, cops are a job, they just follow rules, how many times have people working companies or for a living have had to do horrible shit to themselves and others because we were taught to endure it, cops are the most advanced and finalized version of that able to mutilate themselves and kill others in service of power coated in a story made to make them feel good
like fuck is there any way to leave this clearer? miguel has created what is basically rick and morty's fucking citadel abd just as fascistic as that one bitch thinks he can control time and space because of his dark story, miles breaks away from that, so does hobie, so does gwen by the end, right now maybe i want to leave it clearer, for me, that the story is a disaster due to the implication that cops are just like masked vigilantes and that the only difference is the legality of the act, when we know, maybe mostly by those that inhabit a reality marginalized, that cops just maintain divisions that are meant to protect a status quo, the two lines the story followed should have been used to contrast different moralities, those enforced by power and those sought out from a place of kindness and that much i can tell fell flat for me because of that fucking contrast nowhere to be seen, what i hate right now is have to wait to the next movie because in my head i keep replaying hobie looking with pride and miles breaking apart miguel little bitch o'hara, and gwen's dad saying he quit, because it meant hurting his own daughter, and theres a ray of hope there but idk people need a reality check, cops are killers, cops are murderers, cops are your enemy because they make you one, you don't get to choose your role when you're in a situation with them, and the writers need to leave that clearer because otherwise it is truly off putting to have this movie like this right now when atlanta's fucking cop.city is looking to become a model of fascism everywhere on the fucking world like do i sound insane or hyperbolic? i don't think so, we know history i hope, what this movie has done with the cops and heroism and race is truly atrocious but there's hope if they can be knocked into sense and that starts with looking at reality from those whose faces are put onscreen for us to see ourselves like can we really not make better mirrors of ourselves that empty tools of the state in the forms of cops? like can we really not be better than a glorified pencil. pusher crunching people for the state? is that all heroes can be too? how depressing man....

So my seventy-year-old mother and I saw Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio in theaters the other day, and it’s official —
We both like this film better than the Disney version.
Admittedly Pinocchio has never been one of our favorite Disney films nor stories in general, but we still do think of the Disney version primarily when we think of the story, just like a lot of people do. I do think Disney’s songs are much better, and of course the animation in the Disney version is gorgeous — but just about everything else, Mum and I like better in Del Toro’s film.
Pinocchio in Disney’s version just sort of naively follows whatever the last person told him to do in the beginning, with few feelings or opinions of his own. When he gets roped into being an actor by Foulfellow and Gideon, he just completely forgets about school or about Geppetto. Jiminy Cricket even explicitly tells him to tell Foulfellow he’s sorry, but he has to go to school, and mere seconds later, that advice has gone in one ear and out the other. Del Toro’s Pinocchio, however, remembers that he wanted to go to school and obey his dad — he instead only intends to go to the carnival and then to school, but gets distracted by how fun it is, which is a very normal thing for a child to do. And when he sees how upset that’s made his father, he joins the carnival in a misguided attempt to make things right. Del Toro’s Pinocchio embodies the essence of a child much more accurately than Disney’s version to me — the hyperactivity, the enthusiasm, the desire to please — and never fails to show that however much Pinocchio learns about the world, he’s still just a kid.
Disney’s Pinocchio never really gets much time to bond with his father, nor do we really learn much about Geppetto or why (if he so desperately wanted a child) he never just adopted one — Del Toro’s Pinocchio and Geppetto’s relationship is so much more heart-wrenching not just because Pinocchio was a drunken, rushed attempt by Geppetto to try to recreate his lost son, but because both of them have to learn a lesson and grow beyond their flaws and mistakes. Del Toro’s Geppetto haphazardly building Pinocchio out of drunken grief perfectly explains both his motivations and fleshes out his character and personality so much, and the conflict regarding suddenly having Pinocchio as a son after having lost Carlo is so believable and heartbreaking.
Disney’s Pinocchio is brought to life by a seemingly omniscient Blue Fairy who decides to only half-grant Geppetto’s odd wish for Pinocchio to be a real boy. Del Toro’s Pinocchio is brought to life by a much more chaotic, mysterious, and mercurial pagan entity, which better explains why Pinocchio isn’t magically made human, as well as the strangeness of the premise itself. Her being less aware of humanity or even the trouble Geppetto and Pinocchio would go through because of her choices also makes her less of a deus ex machina in the story.
Disney’s Pinocchio has a very one-sided relationship with Jiminy Cricket, where Pinocchio is intended to learn lessons largely based on Jiminy’s advice, even though Jiminy honestly is no saint either. He can be incredibly condescending and judgmental, as well as hypocritical — yet he’s treated by the Disney film as the moral center. Del Toro’s Pinocchio both learns from and teaches the similarly self-absorbed Sebastian J. Cricket, and they both grow through their experiences both together and apart. Their relationship comes across as much more heartfelt, to the point that Sebastian literally residing in Pinocchio’s heart upon his death is just…AUGH, it wrecks me!!
Disney’s Pinocchio seemingly forgets about his “friend” Lampwick the moment he leaves Pleasure Island. Del Toro’s comforts Candlewick, teaches him to be brave, and even protects him from his terrible fascist father. And yes, even if it’s not shown in the movie, I steadfastly believe Candlewick survived and he and Pinocchio were best friends for the rest of their lives. :|
Disney’s Pinocchio centers around the idea that when you do good, good things happen to you — but the problem I have with that is that what is considered “good” is largely framed as doing as you’re told and not doing what society dictates is delinquent behavior. Yes, it’s good to get an education, and yes, Stromboli was a bad man and you shouldn’t trust strangers — but there’s nothing wrong with going into show biz instead of chasing academics if that’s really what you want to do, and it seems strangely like victim-blaming, to punish a child for getting tricked and manipulated by ill-meaning adults. The same might apply for Pleasure Island — yes, perhaps it’s not healthy to smoke or drink lots of alcohol, and no, you shouldn’t get into fights or damage people’s property…but does that truly justify these stupid children turning into helpless donkeys for the rest of their lives, with seemingly no chance at rescue or redemption? Pinocchio gets a chance to make amends and do better, so why don’t the other boys?
Del Toro’s Pinocchio, however, is about — in Sebastian’s words — “doing the best you can, because that’s all anyone can do.” Pinocchio wants to be good and do good, but what’s “good” isn’t always so simple to define. It isn’t always doing what you’re told, but it’s also not always doing what you want when you want, either. And ultimately, Pinocchio’s innocence and relative immortality (at least at the beginning) makes it easier for him to break the strings that have been tied around his loved ones — the strings of obedience to a cruel carnival man, an unloving father, or even a fascist dictatorship.
Then of course there’s the ending, where Del Toro’s Pinocchio becomes a “real” boy without having to change himself on the outside — and better yet, lives happily while still never having to change. And yes, the ending states he’ll probably die someday too, but that is also completely okay.
So yeah. Go see this movie in theaters or watch it on Netflix, if you haven’t already. It truly is a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to watch it again! ✨

so let me preface this with saying i do not know lisa marie or priscilla but damn if i am not hella protective over them both naturally because those are two women who have lived their lives the best they can and lisa in particular has been through a whole hell of a lot. i mean no disrespect to her or her family and especially and i cannot make this clear enough the memory of her son. tw: mild slut shaming and mention of death.
anon you are 100% correct on that. to be honest lisa marie and priscilla tend to be on the complete opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to you and austin. or at least, they each favor one of you over the other.
lisa marie essentially ends up adopting austin as sort of a son figure. in real life, she literally says she's protective over him post watching the film so for arguments sake? she'd be protective no matter what when she saw him acting as her dad and seeing how much effort he's put into embodying him.
so consider what do parents do when someone starts dating their child. they investigate said person dating their child. so guess what lisa marie does to you.
consider! those rumors that austin knew about you? lisa also finds out about them. they are not the best of rumors you have never ever confirmed them neither have any of your costars. but they're there and it's a universally acknowledged truth that at least one of them is true. hilariously the one everyone thinks is true? totally isn’t. you and him always laugh about it when you run into each other.
basically you look like someone who sleeps with costars or costar adjacents so their friends. this is not necessarily a lie but before austin you had kind of learned your lesson by this point and had told yourself you wouldn't do it again and then you know that Dick though.
she does not like this she figures that you are going to move on like you tend to always do once you've got a new movie to do. never mind that literally you are always the one getting broken up with never are you the one doing the breaking up.
point being she thinks this is a bad idea she tells austin as such that this is a bad idea. he disagrees and doesn't necessarily explain why he disagrees. consider this mildly changes when you break up with him like you do.
her mom has to remind her to not murder you because you hurt her surrogate son. because she thinks this is mildly all your fault and not just you know both of your faults.
but she's an adult and still interacts with you just fine. eventually, actually talks to you at graceland's private showing because again, actual adult. and by this point you and him are back together again.
"you hurt him." "we hurt each other." "do you love him?" "more than anyone i've ever known." "you hated admitting that to me, didn't you?" "you're the closest thing he has to a mom now, figure i kind of have to since i can't really tell lori it." "get my number from him."
she settles down once she sees how honestly happy the two of you are. and once she knows you two are going to therapy and working on your issues.
she is invited to your wedding when almost no one else is. she comes and enjoys it well enough. she thinks you look too much like her mom in your something borrowed hair piece. austin agrees and they both kind of hate it.
she let's the two of you give your son benjamin as a middle name.
she declines being his godmother.

I know the topic of Krolia has already been brought up, but I kind of want to touch on it again, if you’re interested. (Disclaimer: I haven’t watched the show in a year.)
I like her, but at the same time, I don’t.
On one hand, she’s really cool – she’s this bamf, strong, good-looking, stoic woman who is also kindhearted and compassionate – like DAMN mamma Kogane knows what’s up! But on the other hand, she’s… a terrible mom. I think that her time with Keith didn’t do anything good for his other relationships, and that it most likely hurt his character growth and ironically made him more isolated. Sure, he “matured”, but he lost his spark in doing so. As an adult myself, I don’t believe that maturing and becoming a responsible adult means sacrificing that spark, but I digress…
She was an absentee mother who chose her mission over her family. And while that’s honourable and probably the “right” thing to do in the context of an endless intergalactic war, I don’t think that a child would forgive that so easily, let alone choose to follow in her footsteps and become a carbon copy of her. Keith suffered a lot of trauma as a kid, partially due to her choices, and has lingering abandonment issues as a result. If anything, I feel like the natural reaction for him would have been to resent her.
I don’t know if you’ve watched Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, but I liked how Josuke’s relationship to his father was handled. When he meets his dad for the first time, the audience can clearly see his mixed feelings – anger, resentment, anticipation, shyness – and there’s an entire episode dedicated to these two strangers trying to get over their complicated feelings and form a semblance of a bond. Afterwards, it feels like they both decide to just keep trying to be a father and a son, instead of speedrunning to this loving, familial bond.
The space whale was Voltron’s attempt at that, and I think we can all agree that that was a huge mistake and lazy writing. But even if there had been no space whale, I don’t think that would have made it better. I kind of wish Keith had chosen not to forgive her for leaving, and that he’d given her back the luxite blade she left him. I know it seems like a dramatic gesture, but it would have told the audience that we are more than our blood and our past. It would have symbolized him choosing to take control of his own destiny. It would have also told the audience that sometimes, it’s OK not to forgive those who hurt you and that you can still move on. That family can be found… not literally, but figuratively. What he was looking for was right there all along.
The best scenario for me? That, once the war is over and all is said and done, Keith finally accepts to give Krolia a chance. I would have simply left that relationship open-ended for the audience to interpret as they want.
I feel like maybe we brushed on Krolia, but never really delved into anything yet, at least not to this degree.
But I agree. With basically everything you've said here. (Although unfortunately I have not watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure because…well, honestly I just really don't like the art style and it's super distracting).
Here's the thing about Krolia.
She embodies one of my least favorite tropes in a weird sort of way.
Did you ever read a book or a series and then got really excited because you found out the author was writing a new series set in the same world with the same characters, just a couple years in the future? I used to get excited for that, until I found out that apparently it's a sure thing that if the main character from the original series you grew to know and love has children in the following series…they are 100% guaranteed to be the person with the absolute least maternal/paternal nature in existence. I despise that trope, because it devalues that original character by turning them into someone who abandons/ignores/never has time for their kids. And that's not a role model.
In a weird way Krolia fits the bill as if she had been the main character of a series prior to VLD, and now she was returning as Keith's estranged mom who was never really meant to be a parent in the first place.
And, well…
sigh…
Some people are not meant to be parents, just as much as some people are.
And that's all I'm going to say about that.
But back to the subject at hand, Krolia was never mother material.
But the one thing I always appreciated about her was that she was consistent. They never wrote her as maternal. She didn't swoop in and immediately become a housewife and a mom. She was a spy and a warrior, and that's what she was always going to be. And I can appreciate that her leaving Keith was a very in character decision for her.
And honestly would Keith's life have been better if she had stayed? Knowing what we know of Krolia and how she was as a person…is that what Keith would have needed growing up? Would it have even made a difference?
I think the one thing we can all agree on, though, is that we wish we could have seen any kind of interaction or conversation with Keith and Krolia on the space whale. We wish we could have seen them actually talking it out and experiencing the memories together in the Quantum Abyss – learning about each other, and their lives apart.
And yes, a huge part of that should have been Keith's journey to (potentially begrudging) acceptance.
Should he have forgiven her for her abandonment? No. It literally was the root of all his issues and insecurities. But could he have come to an understanding on why she did what she did, as he slowly learned who she was as a person? That's definitely possible, and would have been better for character development.
That kind of journey would have been great for Keith because it would have been focused on self acceptance – and also, like you put so well, anon – it could have lead to the idea that he could decide who he considered family. Name a movie you watched or a book you read as a kid that you were totally not supposed to watch/read at that age. So, two shows I was banned from as an early teen were South Park, and Queer as Folk. Wasn't supposed to watch South Park, but I did. Got to the point that I wasn't allowed to own anything. But then, I got a shirt and my parents were like "well just the characters I guess is okay." (the merch became more and more lenient as long as it wasn't "offensive.") And then I watched it all the damn time. They gave up. As for Queer as Folk, I was told I wasn't allowed to watch it, since my dad thought it was inappropiate. Instead, I watched it on various places that had the showtime channel. Did this mean I stayed up until 3 am to watch the show? Yes. Did this mean I promised to myself that when I was 18 I'd buy all the seasons? Yes. Did this mean I bought all the seasons on DVD in college? Yup. Watched them all and binged the show in college. Fun fact: like Shameless, pausing at certain points in the show make it appear like you're watching porn.

If y'all know me,I'm trying to write my own TVDU crossover with AHS and other properties such as Teen Wolf,called the Millennium Of Hellfire.
The reason I'm writing this series,is because I'm tired of watching the characters of color and queer characters get shafted and shitted on while white characters get to be complex and given victimhood,when many are abusers and oppressors.So,for MOH,those characters such as Tyler Lockwood,get to live instead of dying in canon and have a happy ending.For my series,I created three oc characters that represent their species and their collective traumas:
Desmond Jameson
Marcos Corazón
Simon Quinn
The reason,I created them was because I was so tired of the treatment of their species,hell even the vampires,the Originals treated them horribly,and it just made my blood boil.But after watching Legacies,it just made the fire brighter and I started the Millennium Of Hellfire Series.
Each character has a past with the Mikaelsons since I don't really like the family and how their victims get treated like villains for getting their revenge for their cruelty.So,I started writing the Trio's stories.Each of them have a particular one in the family,that they consider their nemesis & the one that they share with similar traits with.
Desmond>Freya
Marcos>Klaus
Simon>Elijah
So,I decided to write a Legacies Rewrite with them as the mains instead of Hope Mikaelson and Landon Kirby.But that doesn't mean they aren't in the story,they are secondary mains.But the season 1 rewrite will deal with the monsters & Malivore along with the demons of Des's past so,we can get mythology such as the origin of witches and their ties with other beings such as demons,angels and deities.It also connects to other property's mythology such as Marcos's matriline being descended from Lycaon,the first Lycan,from Teen Wolf.
Also the idea of a black witch being one of the most powerful supernaturals,always gets me giddy since we got that in Bonnie,Vincent and Cleo,which is why Desmond will be the one that challenges Hope's beliefs around her family and the myth of her being the most powerful being in the world,since he is a Tribrid like her but he comes from a ethereal and infernal origin,while she is made up of the basic supernaturals.
The trio also are the living embodiment of the Generational Trauma that the Mikaelsons had afflicted over the centuries,which is one plot that I hated,Hope never had any beef with any of the students,who's family were killed by her family,so I was like,what if she had to deal with that?This story also centers their trauma and pain instead of Hope's constant belief that her dad was a good person with flaws,it really deals with the Legacies that these characters left for the next generation.
But this book also is more focused on what it means to be a minority in the supernatural world since let's be real,it's very white-centered and I'm so bored by it,so the characters of color are centered,so in this Kaleb and MG's sireing are told,which should have been in season one but we got Sebastian's whole origin and Alyssa is not seen as vile,she actually has a point.She was going to be sent to a prisoner world with Kai Parker as a child but God forbid,Josie kills someone oh wait she did and she was forgiven.

the beginning of writing this, i was going to just do a list. a straight up list. then upon writing i added some extra words, leading to minimal captions for the first few songs... then i got extremely analytical because i'm just obsessed with gaga and her music. enjoy!

my top favourite lady gaga songs and why:
1. poker face - she’s as timeless as bisexuality can be, this was the first lady gaga song i had ever heard and honestly the first song i had ever heard at the ripe age of 3. this was on my dad’s hottest summer hits of 2008 and oh my god, this man is pretty homophobic yet he let me absolutely JAM to this song every day from when i was 3-5. this was the only song on the cd that i listened to, liked, LOVED. and i would be lying if i said i didn’t love it today. this song introduced me to gaga!!!! (hey girl xx), set my music standards waaay too high and wholly shaped me as a person.
2. born this way - of course it is the world number one! this song is for everyone. for freedom, rights, love and acceptance, the blueprint for the gay community, the inventor of all things homosexual, the acceptor of all people. lady gaga’s fan base is limited to NO ONE and she makes it extremely clear. the bible said it: god makes no mistakes; lady gaga just repeats it. she proved to the whole world that preaching music, love, dance, acceptance and most importantly, individuality is easy. it really is! she told the people of the world to start loving the people of the world. as the world should be.
3. just dance - also in the universal top three lady gaga songs of all time, just dance started the whole of gaga’s reign upon the world. this song embodies the ideology of an innocent feminine presence in a wild setting. she doesn't know what is going on, she has had too much, where are my keys? i lost my phone! how'd i turn my shirt inside out? although, through this time of uncertainty, she is smart enough to keep dancing, to push on and stay with the crowd, gonna be okay. this doesn't have to limit to the clueless feminine though, it appeals to anyone, helps anyone to realise that whatever troubles they may be in, it's okay to just dance. it will be okay. i feel like this is why lady gaga's songs are so captivating and addicting, and why just dance took the whole world by storm in 2008. the lyrics to her songs can be subconsciously understood by anyone and pleasing the mind through house & dance beats leading them to have a more positive mindset.
4. judas - it is no doubt that lady gaga doesn’t just produce music, she produces art. and art is always up for interpretation, so i may be wrong here, but this is my interpretation of this masterpiece. this song serves as some sort of a big fuck you to the (white) christian community (i feel in today, 2022) and how they shun upon people who ‘do evil’ even though they most definitely ‘do evil’ themselves. the chorus full of rage. she’s a holy fool, looked down upon by the community because of what she is doing, but she can’t help herself, she’s still in love with judas, the evil that the community shuns her upon. after reading material on this song, i wanted to confirm if what i typed was right and i learned that it is a metaphor: “So the song is about washing the feet of both good and evil and understanding and forgiving the demons from your past in order to move into the greatness of your future.” - pop culture as a religion… (MSN, 2011) & i believe i somewhat hit the mark on this!
5. babylon - gayest shit i have ever heard in my LIFE. i love every moment of the song, i love screaming it in the car by myself & with my friends. when i first found the song, i was going thru a pretty dramatic time in my life and i just realised that gaga is right. let them talk, babble on, battle for their lives, babylon! i don’t have to take any part in it, and honestly, from that moment forward i was in no dramas with anything & my life really started to be the most positive it had ever been! chromatica is the blueprint for healing, and this song is a perfect end to the album, representing that there is pain in healing, it is a journey, and in the end one can always come out on top through personal discovery. just like the ancient city of babylon.
6. sexxx dreams - this song got me hooked straight back onto gaga. i was not always so obsessed with her, i would always have at LEAST one of her songs in my playlists (i mean it’s gaga how could you not?) my friend posted this song to one of his instagram stories and i was like SHIT THIS IS GOOD so i went onto artpop, i will admit i didn’t really like the album at first (probs cuz i was 8 years old) but oml almost 10 years on i discovered it and artpop was the only music i would go on to listen to for the next two months. i was HOOKED. i messaged gaga about 1000 times telling her about how her music is just so incredible and how she is a walking work of art, i think she knows it but like, she needs to know it more.
7. swine - this song just killed me. the first time i heard it, i knew it was a direct response to what had happened to her in the past & the pain she was feeling. i felt it too. the rage that radiated from every word she sung, every beat that hit, every note that played just radiated the most FUCK YOU energy i have ever felt. i would do anything to hear it again for the first time on max volume. artpop was so ahead of its time that it’s not funny. it’s really not! it’s such a direct response to the pain that she has gone through during being a star, within her first five years! i’m so glad that she expressed it through art. gaga is an exceptional artist. she is able to draw out her own personal emotion in her music in the most profound way, which the audience can perceive as absolutely anything that they personally feel, or bias with, leading to the most broad, most likely wrong, analysis. gaga's performance of swine at south by southwest (Doritos BOLD campaign) is the perfect example of this. i would do anything to go back in time and see that performance.
8. fashion! - looking good and feeling fine is now my blueprint for self confidence. on a personal level, this song has helped me so much. i have always struggled with self consciousness and social anxiety, and after hearing this song it helped me to realise that we only live once, no one cares about anyone except themselves. this song has helped me grow into myself and helped me find my own personal style, that doesn’t take from the current fast fashion-esque trending styles. look at me now, i feel on top of the world in my fashion! this song draws attention to oneself, while showing the onlooker that they have no say in my fashion, i’m upbeat, i’m looking good, and i’m feeling fine! and that’s all that matters. …this is coming from 2022, where most lgbtq+ teenagers are addicted to the word slay. not sure the real origin of this word, but since i am biased i lead myself to believe that lady gaga did in fact start this too. the backing vocals in fashion repeat ‘slay, slay,’ which makes me so excited as a queer teenager today. eeee! gaga has been saying this since 2013!!!! and girl hasn’t stop slaying since x

fangirl moment: gaga receiving backlash and creating controversy over this that and the other… i don't care. she is the most authentic, genuine, amazing artist, musician on this earth. growing up partially in the church and going to a christian school for 13 years, i NEVER felt connected to god, especially the christian one. when i had to pray, i decided that i would pray to lord lady gaga as i know she’s real, and she’s out there watching over all her little monsters. thank you lady gaga. i love you and your music so much and it is my dream to one day meet you and tell you this in person, even if i am the millionth person to do so.
