#alolan graveler #i always felt that out of all the alternate forms‚ this one was the closest to its “source material‚” per se #it's Basically just a color swap with some big eyebrows. all of the alolan geodude line is kinda like this #just with some big facial hair for some reason #i guess alolan vulpix is kinda like that too. it's basically just a palette swap. but it's Going for something #i wouldn't be able to look at alolan geodude and tell you that it's fucking. ice/electric type or whatever the hell this thing is #ok rock/electric fine. yeah i wouldn't be able to tell you that. but alolan vulpix Looks like an ice-type. also it's cute and this is not #alolan vulpix is a valid palette swap. i don't think this thing is #also for the record i am not being MEAN to the alolan geodude line #i just didn't know what else to comment on besides the eyebrows. i don't HATE them i just think they're palette-swaps #if you disagree with me on that then. well. i guess i am going to get the reputation of being a jackass to every pokémon

controversial pokepinion: I don't get why eevee has become a secondary mascot for the franchise. Sure eevee's cute and eeveelutions are a really fun gimmick but it's just? A fox?? And even then vulpix is a cuter and more unique fox design tbh

I think it has more to do with the normal to anything gimmick that its become a mascot. I cant imagine Vulpix as the mascot at all no offense. And imo Eevee works waaaaayyy better than pikachu ever did. Eevee has such a wide variety of evolution types is a really unique thing in pokemon and yet it still manages to capture something special and inherently pokemon that people really enjoy.

Its got that general audience appeal in AND a thematic relevance to the property as a whole.

happy anniversary to explorers of sky!! i wanted to finally finish up this old wip to celebrate.

it’s based off a little headcanon i have where the partner remembers where they came across the relic fragment (rather than the extent of their memory being that they “happened to pick it up” somewhere they can’t recall)– it had washed up to them at the very same beach they met the hero on. the fragment/hidden land seem to have a strong connection to the ocean sooo it made sense to me. the rock that began it all
