The simple fact is... all lawyers deserve to die. When you make impactful decisions about the world and other people's lives, you will inevitably do some harm. And eventually, we will all have to face the music for it.
So how does Kim die? If it were up to me, I'd take a page out of the ending of "Wicked"; the book, not the musical. In the end, Kim got the life she wanted, or at least as close to it as she could reasonably ask for. She was the hero; she fought an all-powerful unjust system, and on many occasions, she even won. But every step of the way, the price was always steeper than she initially thought, and she paid dearly. By her early 70's she's lost love, and family, and her principles, and parts of her sanity, and even a few fingers and toes, to a righteous cause. And now, in her tower, she can feel the world closing in on her; if she has no regrets then why does she feel so, so sad? Life will scar you, and finally we have an answer to who Kim Wexler is at her very core, because everything else has been hacked away, piece by piece.
And then she dies. And unlike the other deaths in Breaking Bad, I'd like to end "Slippin' Kimmy" by following her into the afterlife. She's not reunited with her husband; that would be too cheesy. In fact, she can't even find herself. There is no heaven, no hell, not even the respite of the black void. Just chaos and sensory overload, and Colin Stetson music. She's punished for her misdeeds, but not in a way that would have been any different, if she had lived a pure life. Dissolution is what awaits us all, the weak and the strong alike. We can go to our graves with some peace of mind, knowing history will remember us albeit inaccurately, but that doesn't change the horror of what really lies beyond the curtain.
So yeah... even if I were the one writing the story, "Slippin' Kimmy" would rather definitively end after 2 seasons.
@somethin-stupid-67 sorry that the FotD is depressing today, but it had to be said.

That's what I consider true generosity. You give your all, and yet you always feel as if it costs you nothing.

There's something tragic about you. Your feeling for the absolute. You were made to believe in God and spend your life in a convent.

Prompt 119
Another divine twitch chat Au? Another divine twitch chat Au. With a bit of a twist.
Billy would like to say it is in fact not his fault. It’s really not. Who hits someone with magic they obviously don’t know how to use? Well okay maybe he had done that before, but it’s not like he ever did it around other people where they could get hit!
But someone was an idiot and now he’s here, as his normal ten-year old self kicking his legs while sitting in the Watchtower as the others argued. Apparently the League thinks he’s been de-aged, which is good as his secret isn’t out.
The uh, issue is that something about the spell might have um, partially manifested the gods- or as he called them the Mediterranean Magic Men, if only because of how annoyed it made Zeus. Now everyone can see the chat that’s usually only visible to him and apparently it’s concerning.
He doesn’t see how it’s an issue, Zeus has been silenced for the next hour and Hercules has been dying of laughter for the last three. Oh, wait, it might be from Mercury’s constant attempted flirting with Flash. …Or the fact they’re trying to convince him to commit a crime and he’s honestly down for doing so seeing as he’s a homeless ten year old who is down for getting clairvoyance and super speed for the next thirty minutes in exchange…

thinking about mk11 subscorp. Imagine how Kuai Liang felt when his Hanzo didn’t come back and it was past Scorp that joined them at the end. Hanzo asked him to go ahead and leave first, but maybe he wouldn't have been killed if Kuai Liang stayed. Imagine what Kuai Liang thought, looking at the much younger version of Hanzo now at their side. It's Hanzo, yes, but not his Hanzo. This Scorpion doesnt remember their relationship and the years of mutual trust and respect they built. He wasn’t the one that stood by Kuai Liang and promised they would avenge the loss of the Lin Kuei together. Kuai Liang's Hanzo was gone and he had to deal with it by himself.

Sofie! Do you have voice claims for the cast of TPiaG? I know that Grovyle and Dusknoir already have “canon” voices (as well as Darkrai if you count the Rise of Darkrai movie), but sometimes people opt for different ones so I was just curious how you pictured them sounding in your head, especially Kip and Twig!😊
Getting this ask was very startling to me, because I’ve actually been working on finding voice claims for TPiaG’s characters for a while now! It’s been a bit of a struggle because unlike most of my projects, TPiaG played out almost entirely in my internal voice in my head. Like, I could hear the characters’ inflections and tones of voice as I wrote them, but when it came to their actual voices, I blanked. This video is full of the current best voice claims I have found for each of the main cast members, but it’s not official, and is likely to change as I find better fits!
Some notes on each of the current voice claims:
Twig’s voice claim is decently accurate in terms of sound, but not energy. The clips I used here are pretty accurate, but only for after the credits of the fanfic, when Twig has more enthusiasm and is embracing her extroversion more. I had a hard time finding clips of Ellie Kemper sounding sufficiently exhausted and downtrodden, or even frustrated, to show how Twig would sound in a wider range of moods.
Grovyle’s voice pairs well with Twig’s, which is something I really wanted with their voice claims! I think he’d have a flatter / lower energy tone of voice in general, but he’d definitely end up going a few octaves higher than usual when Twig does riskier stuff and he freaks out as he tries to chastise her.
Kip’s voice claim choice is the one I’m the least confident about, but Bolin has the perfect energy for him once, like with Twig, the fanfic ends and he’s more comfortable in his own skin.
I imagine Celebi has a bit of a southern twang to her voice, but I couldn’t find a sufficiently cutesy-sounding actress with the proper accent. Ty Lee was definitely a match for Celebi in the cuteness department, though!
Toffee’s voice for Ark is a closer match than a lot of these. A key thing to Ark in my mind is that the slightest change in pitch or intonation goes miles with him, and he has a surprising amount of emotion in a very narrow range. I don’t know if Michael C. Hall’s pitch or resonance works fully for him in my mind, but all around, I like the levelness to this voice and think it’s a decent fit.
Dusknoir’s voice gave me such trouble. Runner-ups for him were Lord Yupa from Nausicaa and the titular character of Porco Rosso, but they both felt slightly off. James Cromwell has a good vibe of being world-weary yet warm, but Dusknoir is a mandatory Brit, and Cromwell is very American.
