𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬: 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
(Apna apna sab choose karlo 👀)
Bharatanatyam
The girl in red and gold. Never steps out of the house without a bindi, loves the sun a little too much and gets the perfect golden hour photos. Will drag you out in the sun to prove that her hair is brown. Looks no less than a goddess in traditionals, rocks desi wear as well as western, always the best dressed in the room and sometimes the overdressed one. A walking saree encyclopedia, dreams to have a large wardrobe just for her sarees. Will also lend you some of her sarees and drapes them so well. If you are wearing a saree for a date, ask her for help. Reads a lot of detective books maybe, ranging from Sherlock Holmes to Feluda. Has learnt martial arts too, armed with wit, got the best comebacks and will fight for her friends. Highly intimidating when you meet her first until you get to witness the soft sunshine version of her. Photogenic, loves the camera, could also be a model. Her walk radiates power and confidence. Ambitious and full of ideas, commands attention easily with a snap of ger fingers. Heads turn at her when she enters the room, an eloquent speaker because she is well read. Tries to spread happiness in her own ways, knows everyone in her neighbourhood, is friends with everyone, right from the little kids to the oldies in the park, the Mother hen of her group. Loves puppies and will cry while watching cute puppy videos. Cooks delicious dishes and watch her lash out if she finds out that you skipped breakfast. A pure soul, too kind and generous for the world and does her best in spreading happiness around her.
'It's honestly a choice which we have to make. We can choose to see everything as cold and heartless around us or start seeing at the brighter side of things. Trust me, the latter is a better choice. Why would someone want to live such a miserable life laced with bitterness and resent. I know I cannot singlehandedly make everything right in the world, but I can surely make a difference in at least a single person's life? Why focus on things at the greater scale when we can make changes that should starts from us?"
Odissi
The shy girl next door, writes poetry in her rough notebook, hopeless romantic and a daydreamer. For her, outing means a visit to the temple. Ardent admirer of all types of art, stares at temple sculptures and statues, and is also a history lover. Pink lip gloss, jasmine flowers and a doe-eyed beauty. Makes flower jewellery and will gift you many of her own works if you are her friend. Wears light coloured clothes and minimal accessories, light feminine, crushes over book characters and will make you see the best traits in yourself but forgets to look at the good in herself. Recites romantic poetry in front of the mirror and pretends to be someone's muse, replaces herself with the characters in period dramas Has gorgeous hair but will always keep them in a messy bun, but god when she lets her hair down, she looks like an angel. Her social life includes playing with children and narrating them stories and fairytales.
'His lips gently follow the trail of the small dots of sandalwood paste on her back. It forms a serpentine path on her skin and ends on the curve of her waist where his lips gently caress her soft skin, delighted at the treasure gifted by the perfumed trail.'
"You haven't even held hands with a boy and yet you can come up with this? How?"
"Oh, it's nothing. You have to see my writing journal and you will definitely believe that I am well versed in the arts of love."
"Arts of love? Who uses that?"
"Me. Now come, let's watch Jodha Akbar."
"Again?!"
Kathak
Kurtis and Anarkalis. Has long hair that is half of the time braided. Might also wear a parandi at events. Shayari aur ghazalein, listens to old Bollywood songs late at night under the moon on the terrace. Star gazing, late night deep conversations, vintage clothing, would write you hand written love letters. Knows hindustani music, sings late at night and sometimes in the early hours of dawn. Aankhon mein gehra kajal jise dekh na jane kitne uske aashiq bann gaye, deep eyes that will stare into your soul, loves to wear red lipstick and will wear silver jewellery with every outfit. To win her heart? Take her jhumke shopping. She is the desi pinterest aesthetic. Bases her personality on Sahibjaan from Pakeezah, Anarkali from Mughal-E-Azam, Umrao Jaan and Chandramukhi from Devdas. Has desi aesthetic moodboards on Pinterest and lives like it too minus the havelis and lots of expensive jewellery. If you are a poet, she will end up proposing you.
'जो मेरा नाम अपनी शायरी में अमर कर दे
मरूंगी तो केवल उस शायर के नाम'
"Umrao jaan 2.0 apni pariksha ki taiyari kare aapke non existent premi kavi ya shayar marks nahi dilayenge"
"Tauba tauba sara mood kharab kar diya"
Kuchipudi
Was made to learn dance and music as a child, knows how to play the veena or the sitar well, cannot sing but will play the instrument for you if you ask. Gold jewellery? No. Silver jewellery? No. Pearls? Absolutely! An all rounder, academically brilliant as well as in extra-curriculars, perfectionist and will breakdown at the slightest inconvenience. Loves to go on long walks, sunset photography, has a collection of journals and hauls stationary items. Collects fallen flowers and keeps them inside her books. soft smiles, long artistic fingers that always have ink spots, a small but a close friend group, wishes on flowers, so quiet that you might not her speak at times, notices the minute things about her friends and the people she meets. Looks too long into the mirror and loses herself, has too many questions but will never ask. Has pretty crazy dreams that could become book plots.
"Do you ever stare at your eyes in the mirror for a very long time? Do you feel your reflection change? Those eyes that look back at you... they have so much to say, they carry so many secrets inside them even though at a superficial level, it might seem that your reflection and you are the same, but it's not. When I look at myself in the mirror, I feel it's not me. I am not her nor am I anyone else. I feel I am a part of the galaxies, of stars and planets and of souls -- that I have existed here a long time ago and I have been reborn again for unknown reasons, reasons that somewhere my would would know. Do you not feel the same?"
Kathakali
Athletic, into sports, highly dramatic, can and will recite film dialogues at every situation, has a larger than life attitude, grand gestures and celebrations for her favourite people as well as for herself, always brimming with energy even at 3am, colourful flashy clothes that make her stand distinct from everyone, make-up game on point, a HUGE foodie, takes you to the best eateries and restaurants, indulges in pranks and all sorts of harmless mischief that makes her endearing, expresses everything just with her eyes. You can't say no to her because she will conjure such a facial expression that it would be difficult to say no which is why she gets away with mischief. Will debate about literature and philosophy, has a lot of knowledge about historical texts and scriptures, can easily make you laugh by imitating characters from stories and tales. Will also spam you with her thoughts and opinions on text and if you are in her close friend circle, keep your phone on because she will immerse herself about the latest book she read. Races with kids from her colony and lets them win, gully cricket vali didi, street smart, procrastinates assignments until the deadline is knocking at the door. Knows the secret spots in the city as well as their stories, has the best horror stories to narrate at a campfire.
"I know it's 2am, but is it okay if-"
"Even if I say no, you will tell me, but I am interested. Speak."
"What if all the characters in our epics were us, I mean like us normal human beings who achieved greatness and such divine status because of their work and somehow maybe that was the truth, but with time, we began thinking that we are not capable of becoming like them so we decided that we would take the credit of their hard work and replace it with magical powers and worship them, but not try and become like them? And somehow so many ideal kings, queen, warriors and artists when then look at us from heaven want us to achieve the same level of greatness like them? But they are sad that we think so less of ourselves? I am not denying God's presence though, don't get me wrong on that. I am talking about all the great people from stories that have been passed down to us. I do appreciate the creativity and imagination of the writers and poets involved, but what if we are actually failing to look more deeper into it. What if they want us to go beyond the veil of imagination in those stories and find ourselves in them?"
Manipuri
One word: Ethereal. Doesn't look like she belongs to this world. You saw her first at a waterfall, dressed in white and red shades, mostly prefers pastel shades, makes beautiful flower bouquets, has got a very melodious voice and when she sings by the waterfall with the swans sitting beside her, she appears like a water nymph. Playful eyes, whispers words, will wink and smile at you before disappearing into a run. She walks as if she is floating, got the lightest feet, soft dewy skin, nature's daughter. Sings before the Gods in temples, always has a peacock feather with her, makes one wonder if she is a human or someone divine, wants to live in a cottage overlooking lush green hills.
"Ironic isn't it that beauty, riches, pride, nothing shall exist in the end because we shall go back to mother nature, Prakriti? I shall be ash, a small heap of ash in the future and my stories, my experiences, the beauty which people love to talk about, nothing will exist. Even when humans leave a piece of land, they think it shall be dead and decayed, but they have forgotten Prakriti's nature. She is nourishing and a healer. She shall be the only one remaining."
Mohiniyattam
Loves to sit by a riverbank, serenity, looks at you as if she knows everything about you even about the words you shall speak next, mysterious vibe, doesn't trust anyone easily, lotuses are her favourite. Who is the girl standing waist deep in the river looking at the moon? Loves to wear alta on her hands and feet, wears anklets, longing side glances, perfectly arched eyebrows, dances in the rain, photographs everything, a natural charmer, goes to museums and coffee. Date ideas? Boat rides for evenings. A very private person, doesn't reveal much about herself, contemplates about Life and the Universe, space geek, stars are her friends.
When I look at you, at your great depths, I marvel at the power you have subdued while flowing through the land of Man. Born from the great peaks of mountain ranges, like a young girl who is pulsating with energy, you flow down your father's abode. Were you aware of your strength then? You cut through rocks, found your way through dense forests, and finally emerged into our land. We took you granted, knowing you shall forever exist for us, that you shall always nurture our bodies, our minds and our souls, until we witnessed your dance of death.
I wondered how Lasya, the feminine style of dance, also known as Goddess Parvati's style of dancing could be destructive? You swirled to great heights. With each turn, your colour darkened, absorbing the green from trees, the white from clouds, yellow from the sun, blue from the dawn and purple from sunsets. In the end your colour changed to brown and grey as you engulfed everything we held dear. You ultimately showed your hidden strength that you possesses in the days of girlhood until you heard us wail and weep. Motherhood came back to you, and with time, you began nursing us once again. The city repaired itself, we began learning about the secrets of life and death on your banks and children played with your gentle waters. And then you longed for love, so you advanced towards the sea, merging with its grand form. Once, I used to see it as a way of losing your entire identity, but now I see it as being one. You nourish man in the city and then with your dear love, the mighty sea, you nourish the life that resides inside water. I would like to be something like that.
"Is that why you spend so much time at the river?"
"Yes."
Sattriya
Plays the flute, the most non violent human, will never get angry, calm voice that might lead you to deep sleep. Nobody has seen her even glare at someone. Gold jewellery, squints at the sun, sings devotional songs for Krishna, cannot eat spicy food, lives in the hills, will definitely win if you race against her in the hills, knows quiet spots to appreciate the valleys. Has a great deal of knowledge about herbal medicines, one touch and you will feel that the pain is gone. Has Diy skin care methods ready, gives the best oil massage, cold hands in winter, looks adorable when covered in a shawl, red cheeks that appear like natural blush, makes the best tea.
"Close your eyes, open your ears and your mind too. You might begin to understand the language of the hills. They will send you messages of rain clouds, soft kisses of wintery breeze, fragrance of spring and gently warmth of the sun. Sometimes, if you look closely enough, you might get to know who you are in this world in front of them."

I DID IT :D
Even though it's based on dance, but everyone isn't into dance, so i did try my best to make it inclusive and ofc i had to write these paragraphs because I felt more creative lol (just to sum up the vibes maybe that's why) It was a bit tricky to make for Sattriya and Manipuri. I looked up some articles and then some Assam and Manipur tourism videos and also some of theri dance videos too for this. Now I mentioned some of rhe traits and stuff based on the dancing history and the repertoire plus also from the place where it belongs too
Tell me your favorite one and which one you relate to the most.
Shoutout to @remen-nyoodless for the hindi lines

I'm not very good at expressing things in words but i really wanted to share this.
Yk I've always been a KK fan since a very long time and i really love his charming and ethereal vocals however sometimes I think very few ppl talk about MOHIT CHAUHAN's range and caramel honeyed voice . He's not much of a talk and gets unnoticed too. (That's what i think)
Man has a voice which exactly sounds like GHEE SHAKKAR, or GLAZED HONEY, his sugary voice is something you wanna listen to in the drizzly pouring days, though I've noticed he have many songs which includes acknowledging their lover with rain. You know what his voice in all those romantic melodies have always left me with the enchanting MADHOSH wali feeling.
Along with KK he also shined that romantic bollywood era of 2005-09 & even more with his heart fluttering melodious voice. Shahid as the main romance lead impersonating his voice was the chef kiss! . Ranbir as Jordan with Chauhan's voice in Rockstar was the legend. The whole album is a treasure for sure <3
However Imtiaz Ali's movies are incomplete without Mohit's voice in it it's a perfect match, made in heaven ♡♡♡
Here are some of his beautiful songs that are ear candy and nostalgic:
That "aaaahaa before gulabi si subah" goes straight to heart everytime <3
Both versions of dooriyan have literally my heart, cause the songs are damn relatable considering the lingering feelings left within two people when they are separated or going to be </3
Ofc this lovely piece has to be here, it has to be the best confession theme i guess ♡
This song will make you realize what it feels to be in love, or to question maybe is this love??
His ad-libs are enough sukoon yaar, this song gives the whole vibe of your comfort person, feels like a comfort hug to me :)
Here comes this tinky-funky melody, love the joyful vibe this song makes me feel ;)
I've many more recc to add here but blog thoda zyda lamba ho jyega hehe. Would love more recommendations of Mohit Chauhan's songs if anyone is suggesting-💌

ateez watching indian movies with you
Tumblr media
author's note: i'm a brown atiny who majored in film aka bollywood/indian movies are a huge part of my identity— i was watching kal ho naa ho the other night nd was thinking abt whether or not atz would watch indian movies w me and what their reactions would be. also, i def missed a huge chunk of movies so pls excuse me ehe
taglist: @k-hotchoisan @eyeryis @sinnarols @aaasia111 @sunshineangel-reads apply for the permanent taglist here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hongjoong: this poor baby he's so dedicated to his work but would do his best to make time for the two of you to watch a three hour long indian movie with you, only to fall asleep part way through. he'd last the first 10-15 minutes then pass out, and if you're watching a south indian film, he'll immediately wake tf up when a gun goes off or during the first fight scene. he'd really want to watch rrr with you but fully fall asleep, only to be scared awake during the scene with ntr jr (bheem) wrestling the tiger and be scared shitless from there. however, if you're watching a romcom? gl bc the man is definitely fully asleep and will wake up at the end and say, "that was good i enjoyed it!" you want to be mad at him, but he looks so well rested that you're glad he enjoyed the movie in some way, shape, or crazy form. but fr he'd love the movies that are super detailed and conceptual like if he watched pushpa: the rise, he's definitely highly anticipating pushpa: the rule. he's a 2 part film kinda guy imo he loves the long development and the intensive research and the dedication a director puts into his work. i think he's a rajamouli guy for sure. maybe even like sholay, lagaan, english vinglish— you get the idea.
Tumblr media
seonghwa: seonghwa's a super emotional audience member— everything affects him so deeply, especially scenes with heartbreak or little kids. like, the scene in kuch kuch hota hai where kajol (anjali) finds out that srk (rahul) is in love with rani mukherji (tina) and she's just sobbing and then the song plays? hwa is fully sobbing. he's like clinging to you and drying his eyes and you're patting his back while whispering "it's just a movie it's okay" but it's not okay because unrequited love HURTS. he's definitely more of a bollywood romcom person and probably will want to binge all of srk's movies with you one night, and during the most romantic songs, he'll stand up and copy the iconic srk stance (you know the one with his arms stretched out and then the female lead runs into his arms) and he'll 100% expect you to run into his arms. he's a karan johar bitch fr... either karan johar or yrf. i feel like he wouldn't really vibe with south indian films and end up preferring the sappy, bollywood romcom. but, he's totally an indian serial slut and would binge everything like there's no tomorrow (yeh rishta, iss pyaar ko kya naam doon?, bade achhe lagte hain, and so on) but in terms of movies, he'd love kabhi alvida naa kehna, kabhi kushi khabi gham, kal ho naa ho, dostana, kuch kuch hota hai, chalte chalte (just call him an srk stan and move on).
Tumblr media
yunho: one word: golmaal. he would love the shit outta rohit shetty i'm telling you. like, yes, he appreciates the fine cinema that comes from india, but rohit shetty's got him rolling on the floor in fits. yunho gives such bakwas indian movie vibes but we're here for it— like, the dumbassary in golmaal 2 is everything to him, and chennai express would send him into fits (especially the drunk srk scene). he'd also 100% get up on his feet and start dancing to the upbeat songs in the films more than anything, though, he would fully make fun of the super dramatic scenes with the bawling and sobbing— and i'm not talking about truly tragic scenes but like when the sadness is overdramatic and it suddenly starts raining while the main character is crying (specifically the song tujhe yaad na meri aayee from kuch kuch hota hai) so it's safer to stick to the dumb funny movies... maybe give good newwz a whirl
Tumblr media
yeosang: yeosangie is happy to do anything and everything with you even if he knows the movie will confuse the shit outta him. you'd probably start the guy off on the sequel to a movie (my brain immediately went don 2 or dhoom 2) and he'll be so mad confused the whole time, so he'll keep asking you questions during the movie because he wants to be just as invested in it as you are. more than anything, though, he's more invested in you explaining the movie because of how passionately you talk about the plot and the characters and the dialogue— you might as well forego the movie and just describe the movie to him while spooning in bed. that being said, he'd probably also rewatch the movie a couple of times to fully wrap his head around the film now that he's acquired your commentary and can pair it with the visuals in the film. either that or the poor thing would fall asleep... but he'd fall asleep on your shoulder and just sink into your embrace so fuck the movie just cuddle and take a nap while armaan malik sings in the background
Tumblr media
san: san is such a wild card imo but let's be real i feel like he'd be such a horndog while watching movies so it doesn't even matter what movie you put on he'll only be half present, especially if the don series or race series or lust stories is playing oh dear god don't show this man cocktail if you want to actually watch a movie with you... or pathaan dear lord help BUT i feel like he'd be more interested in the family related movies— like where family is everything so k3g, ala vaikunthapurramuloo, bomarillu, chillar party, main hoon na, tararumpum, etc. also maybe even the ones about friendship, so zindagi naa milegi dobara, 3 idiots, dil chahta hai, jaane tu ya jaane na, rang de basanti, kai po che— again, the wildest of cards. he'd be down to see anything honestly. anything for his love wink wonk
Tumblr media
mingi: god this boy i feel like he would ask all the questions in the world like every other dialogue it's just another question (but they're all related to the movie so it's... okay?) but he just won't have the patience to wait for the next scene to answer his question. no, he wants to know from you so movies like 83, chak de india, dil bole hadippa, paan singh tomar, jersey (BUT THE TELUGU ONE JFC NOT THE HINDI ONE I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH), dangal, basically any sports movie would be best for him because most of his questions would be about the sport so there's no chance of you spoiling the movie for him but i feel like he'd also be a huge priyanka chopra fan but some of her filmography is........ traumatizing? confusing? i'm thinking fashion specifically for trauma while what's your raashee? is just so unbelievably confusing. he'd also like deepika padukone, alia bhaat, samantha, rashmika— as long as she's pretty and a talented actress, mingi's gonna vibe
Tumblr media
wooyoung: indian movies are his jam imo he'd get up on his feet every single song and dance his heart out even if the song is super duper sad (man's is fully dancing to naatu naatu but then also sadly jamming to komuram bheemudo two seconds later the duality is insane). his favorite actors are definitely allu arjun, vijay, hrithik roshan, varun dhawan, tamannaah— and he would rewatch the shit outta abcd and dhoom 2 because the dance numbers are truly impeccable. movies like abcd, rab ne bana di jodi, chance pe dance are right up his alley but i also feel like he'd have fun watching bunty aur babli, jhoom barabar jhoom, race gurram, etc. he's a happy-go-lucky kinda movie guy, imo
Tumblr media
jongho: jongho's the type to be super judgmental but like in the best way possible. he sits and watches the movie quietly with his arms crossed over his chest and his eyebrows furrowed. super quiet and super serious. you sneak glances at him every so often but you seriously can't tell what's going on in his head until he debriefs you after the movie is done, which could go one of two ways: he spares your feelings and tells you he likes the movie (if you tell him that this movie is your most favorite movie in the world) or be completely straightforward with you and dive into an in-depth film analysis. i feel like he'd prefer the movies with gorgeous soundtracks though and want to learn to sing some of the songs (we hate kabir singh in this house but bekhayali would shake his world, and fanaa oh lord he would love that ost with all of his heart... maybe even the main hoon na ost) but lordy any ost with sid sriram is his JAM

what bollywood songs do you think best describe your mutuals?
ohmygosh this ask is a bomb fr i really had to go through my playlist to find the one that suits them the best so here we go, i've added a bit of translations for some friends too 🩷 (i've added the songs below the descriptions for each)
@misschanadlerbong is certainly this i've been saying this for a long time now and idk how to explain this suits her vibe very perfectly and sonam kapoor in the movie again suits my hopeless romantic like yes
@everloving-avenue is the sweetest angel in existence and the words say "i don't know why but my heart knows i'll be alright as long as you are here, the one that makes me laugh even when im crying, it's you" i don't even need to say more ps. i associated this with mark before hence proving again mark and her are the same person, except for the fact that i love her more, sorry mark.
@nightfalls-teddy is this because the vibes match with her par excellent music taste and then the lyrics say "your friendship has me intoxicated like country vine, your sweet and sour talks get me high, this journey of life feels carefree, a friend knows about another friend" and no ash this isn't about you and haechan
@jaehunnyy is literally my precious baby and lyrics go like "my sweetheart how do i explain it to you how adorable i find you, the more im with you the more i wanna tell you" and she's perfectly a pretty woman both on the inside and outside, to me this songs suits her the best fr
@foziee is actually my jigar da tukda (piece of my heart) she's also the youngest moot i have and undoubtedly she's the cutest but at the same time she's a savage literally so chill and so fun but she's also has a soft caring spot and she's cuter than her golden retriever
@onyourhyuck is another beautiful beautiful friend and this song talks about "oh beautiful white dove, flap your wings and fly and reach the heights that no one has reached and keep on moving forward and forward without any fear" the meanings and ryhrms are perfect like herself it's aptly fitting her precious vibes
@partiallyderived is clearly my jaan i know she said she was dilliwali girlfriend before but again idk how to explain it's the very sassy and queen like energy she gives off it's all very very diva like and i know how badly she wishes the guy in the car was phanbin that's why this is her
@whereisahana is again such a queen i can't even explain and she's so chill and so relatable yet so smart and she excludes confidence through texts the first thing i thought of was this naturally
@its-me-satine is an angel undoubtedly and she has the sweetest heart and she feels like she walked out of a novel and this song literally has stand by me mixed with which again feels like her, it says "there's no other word like your name i've read a hundred books a hundred times" i can picture her doing the things she loves while this plays in the background
@maraudersbitchesassemble is this one totally like do you know about her and her many talents and the gorgeous gorgeous vibes she gives off i don't even need to say anything more she seems so artistic to me honestly
@asahix9 is this song and this app won't let me add more than 10 audios so here i am adding the link to the song and this song goes like "this life is in the arms of the sun, breaths are the sunrays and talks are sunshine" and it's honestly such a fun loving and cute song like herself it's about loving more and spreading more love around

Hiiiii
Idea!: Pavitr is completely, entirely, utterly head over heels in love for Miles, but the latter is oblivious to all of it. Hobie and Gwen are trying to help Pavitr but they aren't exactly expert in wooing people
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN EHEH
I'm also gonna put an hint of GhostPunk here, just to spice things up
Thank you for your request!!
.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....
When Pavitr falls for someone, he falls hard
And this time he fell for a certain Brooklyn boy...
Pavitr constantly talks about Miles to everyone and everything, thinks about him day and night, finds himself casually sketching Miles on his books while he studied
He watches Bollywood romantic movies fantasizing about him and Miles being the protagonists, sees couples walking down the street and wished they were him and Miles, listens the love songs all day thinking about him
The whole Spider Society knows about this, even Miguel does!
Even Pavitr's friends and close family know
Everyone knows, aside from...
Miles himself.
He is completely oblivious to everything
Miles just goes on with his day in the headquarters, and it seems like he doesn't even hear all the gossip surrounding him and Pavitr
And when people make him notice how much Pavitr seems to like him he just goes like
"Yeah right? Pavitr is such a nice friend!"
And Pavitr would genuinely punch him because of how stupid and oblivious he is
Now, Pav would confess to Miles considering the latter doesn't plan on making any kind of first step
The problem is he doesn't know how
When he got with Gayatri she was the one to confess first, he just had to say "yes"
But this time? He was the one to make the move, and he didn't know where to start
What should he do? Should he do it the classic way or find a personal and original one?
Pav figured it was best to ask for help, but who to ask?
Miguel is an absolute no, Jess isn't interested in teenage drama, Peter managed to divorce his wife and get back with her, Ben is another no
It's an extremely hard search considering half the spider-people lost their loved ones and aren't comfortable talking about romance
The ones left are Hobie and Gwen, who recently got together
Pavitr desperately reaches them and begs them to help and they're like
"Say no more mate, we gotcha"
But in reality they're probably the worst ones to ask for help about romance
Considering they don't know any other way to help him, they decide to take as an example their love story
And they realize it's the worst example ever
"Hobie, dude, how did you confess to Gwen??" "...I didn't??"
Gwen and Hobie skipped all that wooing part where they confess and kiss under the glimmering starry sky and live their happily ever after, they just started acting like a couple after they understood they had a connection
And that's it-
They tried giving advices, but none of them were actually helpful and only confused Pav more and more
"Why don't you bring him to an anarchist riot?" "Gwen, that might have worked with Hobie, but I doubt it'd work on miLES-"
The only good advice they gave was the extremely classic and cliche
"I dunno mate, be yourself I guess?"
And the fun part is that when Pav and Miles got together, Hobie and Gwen had the audacity to say it was thanks to them if things between them worked so well
.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....-----.....

Warnings - rescue mission gone wrong, explosives/explosions, hindi words with english translations in brackets, 1 or 2 swear words, steve speaking hindi, small dancing scene
A/N - this was inspired by One Direction's ‘Strong’ and in my opinion one of the BEST romantic bollywood songs “Mast Magan”
also the summary is shit, the 'realisation' bit is actually pretty short.
Part 1

Steve had come back home from a very long mission. He was covered in dirt but neither of you cared when all you wanted was to feel each other’s embrace. It was late at night when he returned. After all the initial hugs, kisses and tears, he went to freshen up while you put the things from his back away.
You warmed up his favourite aloo parathas. “इश्क़ की धुनि…” (the flame of love) you sang under your breath, a bollywood song stuck in your head. Swaying back and forth you got more into the lyrics, the yellow light setting the right atmosphere, it somehow raining outside at the perfect time. Just as you closed your eyes and twirled around, your husband caught you, spinning you once more before slow dancing with you.
“मांगे है तेरी मंजूरी..” (have sought your permission) he sang where you stopped. It always warms your heart whenever Steve would learn the songs you love just to sing them to you. Especially the hindi songs, since those took effort to both learn and pronounce correctly. The beeping microwave made you break apart, but not before he kissed the back of your hand, then letting you go. Always the gentleman.
Telling him to sit down at the table, you bring out the food and let him eat. Assuming by how quickly he finished his meal, he was hungry. “Now that beat the shitty sandwichs they gave us to eat,” he said while finishing up. Before he could get up you take his plate to the sink and wash it. Steve doesn’t say anything. Instead he just watches you with only love in his eyes.
Tumblr media
Later you both were getting ready for bed. He had already brushed his teeth while you were in the bathroom doing the very thing. He could hear your paayals making a little noise as you went shuffling around the bathroom.
He noticed his favourite hoodie sitting on the sofa-chair in the room, as if laid out to be worn. It got Steve thinking. She knew that he was coming home today, did she leave it out for him to wear? Or was it being aired out since she probably wore it during his absence? Either way, it made him smile for no visible reason.
You made your way to the bed while switching the hallway light off outside the room. Once you pulled back the covers and got yourself situated in the bed Steve immediately held your waist and smoothly pulled you closer to him.
“How are you feeling राजा?” you asked him, softly. He replied in the same low, breathy tone, “a couple of things, but mostly tired right now.” You could see the red in his eyes and how he was fighting sleep just as much as you. “How ‘bout we go to sleep and tomorrow we can stay in bed all day, that sound good?” he asked, freckling kisses all over your face. He got a soft hum in response from you.
He turns to switch the bedroom light off and pulls you closer to him while slowly drifting off to sleep.
Tumblr media
“You both head in from the east, we both will enter from the west. Team Alpha will free the hostages and get them to the aircraft. Team Beta is on takeout duty. You see any figure from the opposing party, take them out instantly. And finally Team Charlie will sweep the place once all the hostages are on the aircraft and will set the explosives. Is the plan understood?”
(FLASH)
“Are all the hostages out?” “Apparently yes Captain, but they are searching the premises once more just to be sure.” “Good, once they’re out the explosives will be set off.”
(FLASH)
“THERE ARE STILL HOSTAGES IN THERE?!” “Cap, they already sweeped the place thrice and no more hostages were found. And the dynamite timer is already set, there is nothing we can do”
(FLASH)
‘Images of the building exploding and screaming coming from the rescued people. Most of the commotion being the people saying how there were more hostages that just got killed’
(FLASH)
Tumblr media
Steve woke up with a jump. He had a nightmare about the innocent people he accidentally killed. He had ordered the explovies timer be set when the team leader had confirmed there were no more hostages in the structure. But yet there were. They had not searched hard enough to find them and now the hostages were just mere ash and burned bodies lying underneath bricks and rubble.
Even though Steve woke up, you were still fast asleep, no longer in his arms but still on his side of the bed. He was breathing heavily, his face, neck and hands sweating profusely. He turned the bedside lamp on. But when he turned to face you, slowly his breathing evened out.
The serene and peaceful look of your face smushed in the pillow was all he needed to see. To see that you were safe, you were unharmed and most importantly right next to him, alive. He looked at you and softly said, “I’m sorry if I say I need you, but I don’t care.” “There is so much I wish I would’ve done differently. But I didn’t and I made mistakes. Mistakes that have cost the lives of innocent people… Is it wrong for me to say that I need you to be strong for me? There is only so much I can do, so much I can hide. Especially in a situation like this when you’re not nearby, cause when I’m not with you I’m weaker.” Steve uses the back of his hand to swipe away the stray tear.
He turns the lamp off and lies back down in bed, cuddling close to you. Little did he know that you woke up with all that movement just in time to hear him say this, “You make me strong.”

FIGHTER REVIEW: NOT GREAT BUT GOOD ENOUGH!
After watching the movie in the cinemas, I finally caught the movie on NETLFIX on 21st of March, and felt it was time to review this movie.
This movie has all my favourite people. Everyone knows I have been a big Hrithik Roshan fan, and in recent times I have been in love with Karan Singh Grover (KSG).
It was fun to see them together!
Tumblr media
However, I really wish this casting happened a bit sooner. When I was at the peak of the obsession of both them. That would have been so much fun.
The movie starts off simple. But dips a little in screenplay with the extensive dinner sequence, which in my head made no sense. Fat shaming two women who were trying to have their biryani is not what I expect of a 21st century Bollywood movie on Air Force Pilots.
Later, the makers establish the bond of the Air Force Pilots while "HEER AASMANI" plays!
Tumblr media
This sequence is effective. And I felt there was a need to have our very own DESI movie based on Air Force. Especially since they do a commendable job in keeping India safe.
Later there are a sequence of events in which Hrithik Roshan's character (Patty) is more concerned about showing his superiority; showing people down and the movie proving a point that everyone is inadequate apart from him in this team.
Not only Patty is obsessed with being arrogant and not following protocol; his whole team is about enabling him; especially KSG's character Taj. The only voice of reason in the whole movie is Anil Kapoor's character Rocky who has the guts to call a spade a spade. But that does not stop Patty from pouting and acting like a useless victim.
The movie goes on to show some more bonding sequences and some romantic scenes between Patty and Mini (Deepika); but in vain, as these two for some reason could not establish any chemistry according to me.
I did enjoy their dream song sequence though; it was a nice detour, I liked their aesthetic bodies and costumes. The audio had a nice early 2000s vibe to it which was enjoyable.
Later the movie takes a serious turn by showing the PULWAMA attack. And from here the movie became way too anti-pakistani and jingoistic.
After this the movie became dead for me, apart from the air sequences and the very aesthetic “SHER KHUL GAYE” nothing is to write home about beyond that.
Tumblr media
What works for the movie?
Good Actors, Good looking faces, Good songs, really good background score, especially the score: VANDEMATRAM, which hits you in the feels every time it is played.
What doesn't work for the movie?
jingoism, lack of a screenplay and chemistry, Hrithik Roshan's character having no character growth whatsoever. Even by the end of the movie he doesn't take ownership for his actions; instead the movie and his character are still hell bent on proving that all mistakes are fine if you are the "best" at what you do.
Performances:
Hrithik could have done better. Anil Kapoor's character made sense and he did complete justice to his character. Deepika had nothing much to do and was wasted. Karan Singh Grover was good with whatever he was given.
Overall:
I would give this movie 3.5/5. It is watchable, and in recent time with such terrible movies coming out this one sticks out as a decent flick.

Today's shameless promotion is for a show I've never seen and probably never will, and honestly? That might be for the best. Because while I adore the soundtrack for Lord of the Rings: The Musical, and the official clips on Youtube look amazing, I've heard the actual show is a bit of a, well, mess. And the incredibly complicated staging and huge cast mean it never toured and probably never will. But oh, the music!
youtube
The two group Hobbit songs ("The Road Goes On" and "The Cat and the Moon") are rousing crowd pleasers. The duet between Sam and Frodo as they try to keep their spirits up during the long road to Mordor ("Now and For Always") makes me tear up no matter how many times I hear it, it's so perfect for them and the story.
The Elves' big number, "Lothlorien," is beautiful. Gimli's "Lament for Moria" is... okay, look, to be honest the first couple times I heard it I assumed it was in Dwarvish because I couldn't make out the lyrics. XD But Aragorn and Arwen's "Song of Hope," is sweet and romantic with appropriate epic overtones.
Also, Gollum (and Smeagol) get a monologue on the CD that always freaks me out before I remember to skip it. XD (Not because it's bad, I just don't like Gollum and don't want to listen to him scheme, and it's like the audio equivalent of a jump scare when it starts.)
youtube
If you're familiar with Lord of the Rings (and if you're not, this musical is probably not for you), you may be wondering, "how did they boil all that plot into one musical, however long?" and from the reviews I've read, the answer is "not well."
Apparently it was more like a ballet/cirque du soleill sequence of set pieces, with some weird Hobbit pantomime-type stuff in-between? Which is fine as long as you know that's what you're in for. (Note: still mad about the time I went to see Movin' Out, the Billy Joel jukebox musical, without realizing it was ballet for middle-aged dudes.) There's a video on Youtube that attempts to recreate the whole show from various illicit videos, and gonna be honest, I made it through about three minutes before deciding the pictures in my head didn't need supplanting.
I just looked up the composers for the purpose of this post (why had that never occurred to me before?), and A R Rahman's discography has it's own Wikipedia page. O_O So that's a famous and prolific Bollywood composer; Värttinä, a Finnish folk band I'm going to be looking up as soon as I'm done writing this; and a guy who doesn't have his own page on Wikipedia but according to IMDB has been doing Marvel movies. So, that's definitely an interesting trio.
Speaking of research, apparently a production has been announced for this summer!! ...In Newbury, England. ::sigh:: In a 200-seat theater, no less, with reasonable ticket prices, so clearly some revisions to the staging and cast have been made, and it's being marketed as "semi-immersive" and oh, suddenly I'm quite sad I don't have the budget to vacation in the UK this summer. (If any of you see it, don't tell me if it's good now. It will only hurt me if it is.)
youtube
Right, jealousy of people able to go aside, if you like Lord of the Rings and you like musicals, do yourself a huge favor and listen to the soundtrack. I guarantee you'll love it.

RRR Spoiler Review
Tumblr media
Things I liked
Ok full disclosure tho, this is a lot of things, probably more than the things I'm actually going to list here
One of the first things I need to point out is how they kept romance in the background. I loved this because so many movies, especially in Indian film industries, try so hard to make a romantic plot more important than it is and for once they made a movie completely about the friendship shared between two men
Obviously there was some romance, and after all the hype around Alia Bhatt (Seetha) x Ram Charan (Alluri Rama Raju), NTR Jr. (Komuram Bheem) and Olivia Morris (Jennifer/Jenny) honestly just stole the screen.
Do we even need to talk about Ram playing matchmaker for Bheem and Jenny because AHHHHHHH I loved every moment of it
Back to their friendship, the character arc was so well done between the love to hate and then back to love thing.
Now I'm j going to talk about Bheem for a moment: damn. The last movies I saw of NTR Jr. were like Badshah and Jai Lava Kusa and though I liked both of them, it's been a long time and I wasn't rly sure what to expect. Man came on the screen tho and left with all our hearts that's j how it be. His commitment to Malli, commitment to his friendship, and overall pure innocence won me over so quickly. He truly was the water to this movie
And obviously RRR isn't RRR without the fire. Ram Charan. This might annoy some ppl but tbh I wasn't a fan of him before the movie, maybe that was also because I haven't seen many of his movies. RRR tho, it changed things. Yes, he was absolutely the fire of the movie, but even when he seemed like an ass, he absolutely had his reasons and ends up doing the right thing which I think is something I can really appreciate. How often in Tollywood do we see a protagonist temporarily be the bad guy just to get on the good side later in a bigger way than he originally thought he would. Tbh also his playful side in the movie. Everytime he pushed Bheem to Jenny just made me love his character more. I think overall he was the pragmatism to Bheem's innocence but the special thing about them is when they were around each other, Bheem's innocence rubbed off on Ram so much and it showed.
Ajay Devgan's role: tbh I was kind of skeptical about Bollywood actors/actresses crossing over into the south and it was justified in a few ways which I'll get into later but Ajay honestly made it work and he did it so well. Every line he said brought his character to life and took his mission into the hearts of the viewers and every character around him.
Speaking of Ajay tho, shout out to Shriya Saran bc she once again reminded me why she's one of my favorite Telugu actresses.
And of course, we're not getting anywhere with an RRR review without a shout out to it's amazing music. MM Keeravani garu knew exactly what he was doing and it shows. Of course another special thing was we were left with another song by Seetharama Sastry Garu. My favorite song award is honestly a three way tie probably between Dosti, Komuram Bheemudo, and Ethara Jenda, but Janani, Naatu, and Ramam Raghavam are really really high up there.
Dosti- please Vedala Hemachandra, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, and MM Keeravani on one song is dream come true
Also, the visuals were amazing
Now the dislikes
Yeah so I already said I had issues with Bollywood actor/actress entry into the south and in this movie that manifested itself as Alia Bhatt. To be honest it seemed like she was trying too hard and her role was so small so idek why it was so advertised. I'd say she had one major scene when she met Bheem but other than that there was really nothing.
Low-key was kind of hard to believe that two people could be best friends for so long with absolutely no knowledge of their true identities. Bheem I get cuz he had his alter-ego but Ram was just there and it's weird that Bheem didn't find out his true identity sooner. I guess that could just be marked up to movie logic tho and we could call it a day
Overall rating: 9.0/10
Definitely want to watch it again and imo RRR >>>> Baahubali but maybe that's j me liking Indian nationalists fighting back British raj or honestly just any oppressed group fighting back against their oppressors (shout out to The Kashmir Files 10/10 should watch)

top 5 kareena kapoor movies!
I love this question! 💕
Asoka (2001) - The fact that this film released the same year as K3G with Kareena playing drastically different characters blows my mind. The girl can act. She was amazing as Kaurwaki and I loved the minimal makeup look (I would always do my eyeliner like hers lol). I think Kareena held her own against SRK and their chemistry was on fire. Plus she looked amazing in the songs. Her introduction scene? Iconic. One thing I really love about Kareena is how well she can emote with just her eyes, especially in the Raat Ka Nasha song. Like, I could literally feel her longing. Also the scene where Asoka was teaching her how to use a sword rewired my brain. The sexual tension 🫠
Jab We Met (2007) - In my opinion, this film is the closest you can get to perfection. It still feels fresh even after all these years and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into Bollywood. Kareena truly shined as Geet and I loved her character development throughout the film. And who can forget her iconic "I'm my favorite" dialogue? I need her confidence. She had wonderful chemistry with Shahid and I love how their relationship blossomed organically without his character expecting anything in return. I can never get tired of watching this film. The songs, outfits, cinematography, even the side characters – everything was on point!
Talaash (2012) - I love this film so much. It's dark & gritty but also very heartbreaking with an eerie vibe. Kareena looked beautiful (her outfits were sooo cute) and I think this was her best performance – very mature and restrained. Aamir & Rani were amazing but Kareena's character left me haunted. There was a gentle softness about her, but you could feel her lingering sadness whenever she appeared onscreen. I also appreciated the (non-romantic) pairing with Aamir and how he brought closure to her character.
Fida (2004) - Kareena was really good in this. I think it was the first time she played a negative role, but she looked so good while being bad. She also had the cutest shoulder length hairstyle which I loved so much, I had to copy it. Kareena & Fardeen were super hot together and I loved their chemistry. I was rooting for Fardeen to kick Shahid's ass. Those two characters (in my opinion) showed us the difference between a man vs a boy. Despite being flawed and a bit cheesy, Fida is still an enjoyable thriller with good songs and tons of drama. Also the shower scene still shocks me to this day because it was just that unexpected.
Bodyguard (2011) - Yes, I know this is technically a Salman Khan film but I watched it in theaters only for Kareena. She looked absolutely gorgeous. I loved her styling and wardrobe so much. Her intro scene was amazinggg. I also liked that they used Karisma's voice whenever Kareena's character was pretending to be the secret admirer – it was such a cute little detail. Kareena looked especially stunning in Teri Meri, though I wish they used a different male singer (no offense). I love fun masala films so much and this one is definitely up there!
put “top 5” anything in my ask and i will answer ok go

Analyzing / Personifying Bollywood Song Lyrics - pt1
"Hey Ya!" from Karthik Calling Karthik.
Tumblr media
Zara, zara, tum ho mere / Zara zara paraye.
(trans. Sometimes, in some ways, you are familiar / Sometimes, in some ways, you are not)
Personally, these are my favourite lyrics from this song, which also happens to be one of my all time favourite Bollywood songs. This is not a perfectly accurate translation, but it is what I understand them as so that is what I've added here.
Here, the 'familiar' refers to someone you know, in and out. Someone whose mannerisms and behaviours you've studied, unconsciously more often than not, to such an extent that you're able to tell that something's wrong the minute those observations are challenged. You know them so well, it feels like you've been with them forever. It could be romantic already, or on the way to becoming romantic, but the fact remains that you know this person. 'Familiar' is also them being your safe zone. A warm hug when you need one, the sweetness of chocolate on a hard day, the simplest yet most comforting words whispered into ears which have the power to turn everything around. That's what this person is to you. And this is how you always think of them.
Until you dont. Which is where the 'paraaye' or 'unfamiliar' comes in. I like to equate this more with the sudden onset of realizing one's feelings, and looking at this person in a whole new light. With that new light, you come to discover new things, some which draw you in and enrapt you, others which make you wince and wonder why they do those things. Nevertheless, this 'unfamiliar' too is very much a big part of the way you feel and think of this person.
If I had to quantify all of these things under a trope, I think I'd say it's best categorized under the 'best-friends-to-lovers' trope, or 'friends-to-lovers' trope, where when you fall for your best friend/friend who you start to look at in a new light, both the familiar and unfamiliar draw you in and make you fall harder.
(PS: listen to the song here!)

Best Places For Long Holiday Plan Near To Best Resort In Khopoli
Introduction:
The hill stations and campsites of Maharashtra and its surrounding regions are freely reachable from Best Resort in Khopoli. As a result, it provides the ideal starting point for fast places to visit.
We have a recommendation that includes the top spots to visit nearby khopoli for three days if you're wanting to take a short trip that lasts less than three days.
Why UK's Resort is Best To Stay:
The UK's resorts provide their guests with a wide range of opulent amenities. Once you have completed booking the resort, the only thing left to do is to relax and enjoy your holiday. These resorts will stop at nothing to treat them like royalty while making sure that their guests have the most comfortable stay possible. Even if it is just temporary, it is a stay fit for a king.
The staff will look after all of your needs, including washing and meals. Resorts hire security personnel to patrol the entire property around-the-clock to make sure guests are safe while they are here.
Places which are Tourist Hotspots Near to UK’s Resorts Khopoli Which You Can Visit:
1. ADLABS Imagica:
The UK's Resort is only 8 km away from Adlabs Imagica. On the Mumbai-Pune expressway, close to Khopoli, is the theme park Adlabs Imagica.
Visit Adlabs Imagica in Pune for a day bundled with adventure and excitement. There is no other place in khopoli like this 130-acre theme park to let you unwind and relax. Adlabs Imagica is a wonderful place to have fun and enjoy yourself for people of all ages and is a great weekend away from Khopoli. Adlabs Imagica, the excellent family vacation spot, is made of three huge parks: a traditional theme park, a water park, and a snow park.
2. Ashtavinayak Mahad Temple:
One of the Ashtavinayak temples of the Hindu god Lord Ganesha is the Varad Vinayak Ganpati of Mahad Ganpati Temple (also spelled Varadavinayaka Mahad). It is situated in Mahad, a tiny town in the Khalapur taluka of Raigad District, Maharashtra, India, close to Karjat and Khopoli, temple is 10 mins' walking distance from UK's Resort.
The Varadvinayak Mahad Ganpati Temple/Mandir is the seventh of Ashtavinayak's Ganesha temples to be seen on the journey for Ashtavinayak Darshan. The Swayambhu murti is the idol at the VaradVinayak Mahad Ganpati Temple, which is regarded as a Math. With a tiled roof, a dome 25 feet high with a golden pinnacle, and a golden peak (Kalas) with a carving of a snake, the temple is extremely simply constructed (also a deity revered by Hindus).
3. Lonavala Hill Station:
Lonavala, definitely one of Maharashtra's most well-liked hill destinations, is the perfect location for a quick three-day weekend from Khopoli. Being a hill station, one might assume that it is mostly a place to chill, stroll around, and take in the breathtaking views of the hill, but there is more to it.
Three days might not be enough time in Lonavala because there are so many things to do. Keep the first day free to tour the places around the resort. The following two days should be spent on outdoor exploration and adventure-related activities in the resort.
4. Khandala:
Khandala became more well-known after appearing in the lyrics of a well-known Bollywood song. Khandala is the perfect destination for a romantic trip because it allows you to rediscover your love by taking long, intimate walks, cooking romantic dinners, and even spending peaceful times at a campsite.
A romantic hike up to the Kune Waterfalls is a must-do if you and your partner are daring. In Khandala, one can also visit a few temples and caves.
5. Kamshet:
Many tourists from Pune and Mumbai like spending their weekends at Kamshet which is near Khopoli. This location is well-liked because it has a lot to offer various types of tourists.
Adventure seekers can enjoy parasailing, paragliding, and trekking in Shindewadi, explorers can take in the Bedsa and Bhairi Caves' sightseeing, and those seeking a quiet retreat can take in Pawna Lake's picturesque vistas. A handful of the temples there are also fairly well-known in Kamshet.
6. Panchgani:
Along with eating Parsi food, one of the first things you should do in Panchgani is visit the Kamalgad Fort. You will need roughly a day to make the journey from the hill's base to the fort and back. Spend the following day taking a stroll through Panchgani's picturesque areas because you'll be exhausted after your trip and the hike up to the fort.
7. Zenith Waterfall Khopoli:
With its lush vegetation and rainfall that pierce our souls, the monsoon season breathes fresh life into arid land and replenishes it with a new flow that stokes new passion. You left this monsoon since you love to travel to first see the Zenith Waterfalls in Khopoli, Maharashtra, which is 5 km from UK's Resort on the Old Bombay-Pune Highway. The rains in the middle of July had made the weather very great and lovely. You made the decision to travel to Khopoli's Zenith Waterfalls with our hiking companions.
One of the most well-known waterfalls in Maharashtra is Zenith. It can be found at Khopoli. Since Zenith waterfall Lonavala is 14 kilometers from Khandala Lonavala, it is frequently visited by tourists who are visiting Lonavala Khandala during the rainy season.

Indian Railways built the Palasdari dam as a water source for the neighbouring Karjat station which is 5 km away from UK's Resort. This dam is close to Palasdari town and railway station. It is a well-liked picnic location as well as a preferred monsoon getaway. There are a lot of farmhouses nearby. It is located along the state route between Karjat and Khopoli.

Took a bit of issue with some things stated in your last ask. Bollywood hyper sexualizes women. You can't tell me otherwise when your lead is soaking wet in rain in barely nothing gyrating suggestively to a song for her "lover."
Not a good choice to go for the "safer option." Indian women should be shown as having nuance and that includes sex and sexuality. We are not nuns. Sorry but I just felt your answer was reinforcing that stereotype.
I understand anon
And yeah, I know what you are referring to, brown girls have to live with a ugly double standard that they always have to be "covered" even when a Bollywood scene is doing everything they can to to look explicit.
It all goes back to the concept of what I like to call 'jugmental indian aunties' demanding their female representation be pure and perfect. I agree with you brown women are not nuns. But when a show is trying to be inclusive they tend to err on the side of caution when portraying a named culture.
We are way past the age where women where put into the maddona and the whore box. But when it comes to representation in media of cultures that Haven't been getting representation before a lot of people take issues with tokenism and sexual stereotypes being perpetrated outside their culture regardless of if Bollywood has already done it.
And South Asian culture is not inmune to that. Simone is making a great effort to show the side of her culture that embraces sexuality and isn't ashamed of intimacy. She's opening doors as one of the few brown actresses doing this.
Its great to me that thanks to her more indian decent actresses will get a chance at being romantic leads and also get to show off brown girls accepting their sexuality in a healthy and good way.
It's a thin line. Between honoring and disrespecting a culture while at the same time showing how a cultural background is only a small part of what makes a character like Kate unique. Bridgerton tried their best at doing it.
And for this being historically the first time a South Asian female is given the lead in a Hollywood period drama. I think they managed to do it in a good way.
And that's the tea
