i'm sorry but i'm rewatching free! the final stroke part 1, and it's actually hilarious how haru practically confessed to rin by saying that his reason for still fighting to win was because of rin and that he always wants to compete with rin next to him.

I'm absolutely announcing Rin as Haru's new best friend or boyfriend.

After the practice race against Albert Wåhlander everyone is so worried and concerned about how Haru is doing, (not to mention Makoto's surprise that Haru actually lost which is a whole different conversation).

Rin hears about it and just puts everything aside to go see Haru immediately.
