Let’s do some comparison viewing.  Photo on the left is one of the promotional shots from the upcoming Suspect.  Photo on the right has been making the rounds, too.  I, along with several others, shared it a couple weeks ago.  It looked a little “off” to me then, most obviously in the blurred fabric of his coat collar.  But then I started looking at the images side by side.  Aidan on the right has had some of his dark shadows and lines removed from his face, and his skin appears mostly pore-less: he’s been ironed out some, maybe had a bit of a steam.  Yes, the light has been pumped up, opening some of the shadows on his face, and they’ve painted some lighter highlights in his hair, and also given him a swoop of hair that blows off to the left of the picture (don’t know if this was intentional).  Also, whatever filter/tool they’re using renders individual hairs as double, or blurred somehow, like a print made from two negatives sandwiched on top of each other that don’t quite line up.  This is most obvious if you look at the silver strands in his beard, or the weave of the coat fabric.   

The thing that really jumps out to me is the difference in his eyes.  At first glance, you don’t even notice it.  But then, upon closer inspection, the light reflected on both eyes has been modified; it’s not even the same shape in the adjusted photo.  Most egregious, however, is that his right eye doesn’t even look as though it belongs to him.  The shape is different; the placement of the iris is off, there’s an overall “squintier” look to his eye in the right hand picture.  It appears as though they’ve given him a more pronounced fringe of bottom eyelashes in the adjusted photo, too.  I wonder if that’s even his eye at all, or if they just found another eye they liked and pasted it on?  His left eye isn’t drastically different--it looks as though the shape has been smoothed out some, and they cleaned up the white.

I know there are much more offensive digital adjustments out there.  This one just bugs me.  It was a gorgeous photograph to begin with; it didn’t need all the tweaks.

I'm doing this gif thing in my Poldark fan group on fb, quick fav scenes. I posted a larger, longer higher-res version of this gif because damn, and pretty (I wish file sizes here could accommodate but oh well.) Some ladies were asking where that's from because they'd never seen it on Prime. I have Prime and also BritBox and the version I watch is an extended UK version... is this unseen/new info for some people? I thought we were all served up the same content. I wonder what else has been cut from a US version??

Honestly I hesitated, I knew some would love it but there's biddies in the neighborhood as well (prob not a very pc moniker but accurate). I think there was some clutching of pearls happening due to the 'nudity'. Is he nude here? I mean I wish!! I have to imagine the camera panning down in my mind's eye. But tbf you can see more at a men's swimming meet ffs. I guess this is the reason we can't have anything nice here because a spate of fucking might break out at the sight of Aidan Turner's abs.

Somebody mentioned Rivals possibly being edited for the US audience, was that you Stelly38? People like this must be the reason why. Thank God I am not and never will be like these women.
