You decided to follow one of your friend's tips and find a different kind of financial help. At first, you thought it was bullshit, but after you saw her getting tons of money, wearing different designer clothes every day, and going to all the most expensive places, you just needed to know her secret. There's no way a college student could afford all that, you thought. And when she opened up to you about her "sugar relationship", you thought the worst. This time he chose an italian restaurant, where you'd be eating to candle lights. He was a romantic man... even if he kept you waiting for half an hour. And while you sat there all alone, you sipped on an expensive glass of wine that cost almost your entire rent, that he obviously would pay for making you wait.

"I'm so sorry it took me so long, hermosa..."

His voice captured you. Fernando had a thick spanish accent, that apart from his looks, you thought was the sexiest thing about him. Of course, you were there for the money, but you were not blind. You felt lucky that you got yourself some sort of sponsor that was not only very nice, but very handsome as well.

He greeted you with a kiss on each side of your face. He carried a strong, masculine, scent of sandalwood, that impregnated your nostrils.

"And how's my favorite lawyer doing?" He tried to cheer you up.

"I'm not there, yet" You bit back a grin, your need for validation feeling quite happy with the title, "But I'm okay, I guess"

"What about college?" He asked, and called out for one of the waiters to bring in more wine for you both.

"Hmm... One of my professors is in need of an assistant, and it's paid work. It's not much, but it will help me a lot with rent, and the tuition, and..."

"Won't that get in the way of your studies?" Fernando interrupted you.

You could lie to him and tell him it wouldn't, but Fernando was no dumb man. And honestly, you were getting tired of having to look for small jobs every time the money got tight. You even thought of selling one of the dresses he gave you so you could pay for your college tuition, which was... pretty late.

Your silence spoke for you.

He sighed, "Why don't you ask me for anything?"

How could say you needed the money? Well, you got there because of it, but you didn't have the guts to ask for it.

"I don't know..." you muttered.

"You don't know?" Fernando questioned, "Y/n, I want to give you those things! The money means nothing to me. I won't let you be someone's assistant and have no time to study. Let me handle your college tuition, and your rent, okay?"

That was too good to be true. Fernando was too good to be true. He wasn't asking for anything and wanted to give you everything. But if there's one thing you learned being a law student, is that everything has a price.

"What can I do to pay you back?"

Fernando chuckled, "You catch things real quick, don't you? You're going to be a great lawyer" He gave you a flirtatious wink.

"Fernando." Licking your lips, you voiced in an accusatory tone, "I'm not a whore."

He frowned, quite offended by your statement "Y/n, it's not like that, I would never think that of you. Don't ever say that again."

"But you gonna ask me to sleep with you, aren't you?" You inquired.

"No..." Fernando smirked, "...unless you want me to ask you to." He purred in a low voice.

And then, it was like all the noises around you vanished. You both were there, at the restaurant, and suddenly you weren't. You couldn't recall how you got to his hotel room.

And you thought there would be some doubt or regret, anything that would make you stop it, but instead, you overflowed with lust and desire through your veins as his hands touched you, squeezing your thighs and ass. Even when he was away, you felt like you weren't alone anymore.

With time, you noticed that Fernando had established some unvoiced boundaries; You never really slept together. Clause 4: The parties are obliged to keep the relationship strictly professional, in which, romantic feelings affect the breach of contract.

"The breach of any present clause will be considered a breach of contract, in which the parties must terminate the contact immediately." You read it out loud, "Jesus, Fernando! You're basically rubbing in my face that there's nothing serious between us!"

Fernando frowned, confused, "Is that a problem?"

Yes.

Your heart ached. You remembered the calls, the laughs, the intimate conversations, everything and every moment you shared with him.

Why am I so bothered by this?

Fernando stared directly into your eyes like you were in a staring contest. He analyzed every inch of your face, capturing your features like a photograph. His face didn't show any clue about what was going on in his mind. He didn't say a word. He just stared, and you couldn't look at him anymore. You felt rejected.

"It's okay, I know you don't feel the same, I know I'm not the kind of woman you would fall in love with. I get it. And, as you said, I'm a law student, the contract said..." You started another sentence without looking at him.

"You don't get it, do you?" He interrupted, getting over your words, "I do like you, y/n. In fact, you're the exact type of woman that I would fall in love with, and I did. Otherwise, you think that I would be taking you to places where you would be seen with me? I've been treating you like a girlfriend for ages by now." He beamed, gazing up at you. “I am not wearing that to dinner!” you persist, glaring at the purple lace and small black device in front of you. “This place is nice,” you smile, placing your elbows on the table and propping your head up on your hands. 

“It is.” Sam agrees, eyes falling to your lips and then lower. 

You’re about to tease her for looking so enraptured by your tits, but before you can the waitress appears out of thin air, pen and notepad in hand. She smiles warmly at you, then at Sam. “What can I get you both to drink?”

Eyebrows lifting in disbelief, you choke on your breath as she moves her hands under the table and stares at you. One of her eyebrows is raised as if she doesn’t trust that you’re unaware of the obvious one sided eye-fucking that went on between you and the waitress. 

Once again, said woman materializes out of thin air with your drinks and places them on napkins before you. She tucks the tray under her arm and unexpectedly rests her empty hand on your bare shoulder, making you jump slightly. Alarms go off in the back of your mind when you see Sam lean back in her chair with a smirk on her face, eyes dark and on yours.

“Would you like any appetizers, sweetheart?” The waitress asks, squeezing your shoulder lightly. Oh. 

“Yeah, sweetheart,” Sam mocks, voice low. “Do you want any appetizers?”

“Um… I-” you’re cut off by an unexpected vibration. It only lasts for a few seconds, but it has you jolting in surprise. A little gasp escapes your throat. 

“Are you okay?” the stranger with her hand on your shoulder questions with worry. 

“She’s fine. We’ll have the baked brie with all the shit on it,” Sam answers for you, dismissing the waitress with her tone of voice and taking a pull of her whiskey. 

The second her hand leaves your shoulder you shakily reach for your drink and chug it, the pleasant warmth taming your racing heart. Your face is almost as red as your dress when you place the empty glass back on the table and throw mental daggers at your cool and collected girlfriend. All she does in return is grin as the vibrations come back. 

“Cut it out,” you grit, hands gripping the sides of the table, legs crossing tightly. She’s got the bullet on a low setting, but it’s pressing into you perfectly and your eyes fight the urge to close. 

It gets stronger when Sam turns it up and tells you to look at her. “I think I’ll tell her about our little secret the next time she comes back,” she husks, sitting up and leaning forward to put one hand over your tight knuckles and keeping the other out of sight. “Let her know who you belong to, y’know? Have you ever gone into possible hobbies that Nanami has vs Higuruma? I'm disappointed we never got to see his likes and hobbies 😭😭😭

Welcome back to another HiguNana analysis by Bree!

Unfortunately we don’t ever get to know very much about the personal interests and hobbies of Higuruma and Nanami throughout the show. They already have very little screen time and what we do see is usually pertaining only to the world of sorcery. But something that Higuruma and Nanami nation have decided is that both of these hunky men are wealthy and wealthy men have hobbies.

Like usual, these are my personal head-cannons please don’t be mad at me.

Hobbies that HiguNana have in common:

They are men of style and class, both wearing luxury suits and splurging on nice cars and watches. They adore shopping with you. They’ve worked hard in their careers to be able to afford their lifestyle and they both have the love language of gift giving. Those two things combined equals shopping trips for the two of you. They love dressing you up, watching you spin around for them. They can put their money where their mouth is. When you can’t decide which dress to buy for their work party, they say, “Just get both, darling. You can use one for a date night and one for the party.”

In a similar vein, they love traveling. And they love bringing you along. Even if it’s just a weekend getaway somewhere you’ve never been, they will book a last-minute trip and pack your bags for you. They already know your essentials and favorite outfits so you can expect your bag to be packed as soon as you get home.

Nanami’s hobbies:

Starting off with the most obvious, something we do know about Nanami is his love for reading. Before his death, he mentioned all of the books he never got around to reading. I like to think he has a home library and a wide range of taste in books from historical non-fiction to fiction fantasy books. In the mornings, he brews a cup of black coffee and sits outside, reading whatever current novel he is on before getting dressed and ready for work.

Something that we don’t have any clues for but is something that I can see fitting his character very well is a love for baking and cooking. He seems like the type of man to insist on cooking for holidays like Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. His love for pastries only signifies that he at some point has dabble in baking. Plus, he would look just adorable in an apron.

Maybe this is just me self-inserting myself but as an avid plant mother Nanami has the type of personality to be a loving plant father. He’s patient and gentle and would take the utmost care of a garden or home jungle. He could use his own fresh vegetables in his cooking!

Now, this might tie in to the shopping hobby but we all know Nanami is a man of funky ties. I could see him collecting fun ties. Shopping for other items and coming across a new pattern he has never seen before, he can’t help himself. He has a drawer only for his ties and picks them out for every occasion.

Nanami is a white collar man and who do all white collar man love? Golf. Nanami is a man of golf. It only makes sense that he would have a section of his closet dedicated to his golf attire. Many times, business deals and business meetings are done over a game of golf.

Higuruma’s hobbies:

Higuruma was much more difficult to identify some hobbies but after some deliberation, I think I’ve found a handful that I would coin. Maybe I will even write them into future Higuruma fanfics.

The first one would be poker. You can’t tell me you can’t imagine Higuruma, cigarette in mouth and whiskey on the table playing poker with a group of other lawyers in his firm. After a long and stressful day of being professional, they undo their ties and relax over a game of poker. They have enough money to make the stakes higher by adding bets and money on the line.

To me, Higuruma strikes me as a music type of guy. More specifically, old music. He has a collection of vinyls that he will pull out and show guests and more importantly, you. Weekend mornings, he heads down to the local record store and thumbs through the new albums they have in stock. He has a well up-kept vintage record player, only the finest machine to play his collection.

I honestly can’t remember if it was ever made evident in the manga that Higuruma smoked or if we all just collectively gave him that head cannon but Higuruma is a smoker. Not only a smoker but he collects cigars. Rarely does he smoke his fine cigars, only pulling them out for special occasions such as weddings or other important events.

Similarly, Higuruma is a bar hopper. Not in the same sense as a twenty-something college kid but as an established lawyer with a wealth behind him. He finds new and fun bars with good live music to sit and have a few drinks at. His favorite thing is bringing you along. He gets to hear about your day, listen to the smooth local band behind you and have a nice drink. It’s an excuse to see you dressed up in your shopping spree outfit.

Cartoon Network Friday Spotlight: The Powerpuff Girls- “A Very Special Blossom”

The first few seasons of The Powerpuff Girls were very good and became a sensation for a reason, but no run is entirely perfect. Even the best shows have missteps, and “A Very Special Blossom” tends to come up as an episode that rubs fans the wrong way.

In this one, Father’s Day is coming, and the girls want to give the Professor the perfect gift to show their love for him. However, the perfect gift appears to be out of reach- a top of the line, very expensive set of golf clubs. There’s no way that the girls can afford to buy those, even if they charge for crime fighting. But the opportunity arrives to obtain them when Mojo Jojo wrecks havoc on Townsville and busts the window of the sportswear store that the clubs are sold. Blossom, usually the wisest and most aligned to good of the girls, sees her chance and takes it.

On the one hand, it’s not unrealistic to see Blossom break bad for once. We’ve already seen Bubbles and Buttercup cross lines, but they’re all still little girls, and even the best-behaved children still occasionally misbehave. If you’re someone who resents older siblings and have a beef with Blossom, I can see this be almost cathartic.

But the end result isn’t very entertaining. The Professor gets in trouble when the Mayor and chief of police put two and two together about the missing golf clubs, and he’s only exonerated when Blossom comes clean. And personally, seeing either character locked up isn’t a pleasant sight. Additionally, is it wrong to incriminate a five-year-old to the same extent as an adult for shoplifting (or I guess looting in this case)? Well, it’s up for debate but sure.

Additionally, I don’t think the satire lands. “A Very Special Blossom” is meant to be a spoof of “very special episodes”, and even evokes a show known for these kinds of sappy stories in its title (in case you don’t know, Blossom is what Mayim Bialik was famous for before The Big Bang Theory and Jeopardy, and uh, it’s not a very good show), but the content still primarily follows The Powerpuff Girls format with little to suggest otherwise. It just feels like a weaker episode. 

And that’s fine, not every episode can be “Bubblevicious”. Sometimes, I’ll use Friday Spotlights to talk about the most popular episodes, but those only tell part of the story, which is why I’ll feature plenty of average quality episodes, and even the odd misfire. That’s just part of life.

I just wanna meet someone who will treat me like I’m worthy for once. That I’m special and that I deserve happiness, love and respect. Someone who isn’t afraid of what I look like to their parents. Olly - Out of everyone I would marry Olly. He is a bisexual tsudere, loves his family and friends, keeps bees as  both pets and a hobby, is enough of a dork he’s endearing, does burlesque shows in the same club his sister Danya performs, and is just high enough on the Bakhouzin ladder to be strong enough to keep you safe but low enough not to really be a target. His bakery manager job will give him plenty of funny stories to bring home, he’s an excellent cook/baker, has the Bakhouzin Cake, and he is an enthusiastic lover. 10/10 would marry the tsudere.
