Dass AfD Nazis sind ist ja nun indiskutabel und nicht hinterfragbar, dass sie sich mit reichen Leuten zusammentun yadda yadda, alles keine Überraschung. Überraschend ist an der Correctiv-Geschichte im Grunde nur, dass sie sich bei ihren Vertreibungsplänen, Plänen zur Wahlmanipulation und Sturz der Demokratie generell haben erwischen lassen.

Nichtsdestoweniger. "Nix Neues" und "Keine Überraschung" darf nicht davon abhalten, JETZT sein/ihre*n Bundestagsabgeordnete*n zu kontaktieren und ein AfD-Verbot zu fordern.

Übrigens kann man seine*n Bundestagsabgeordnete*n ganz einfach über die Bundestagsseite finden (nach Wahlkreis suchen). Dort sind auch Kontaktmöglichkeiten  direkt vorhanden:

AITA for pranking my friend?

Ever since my friend (28m) and I (27m) were little kids, we've had this prank war going. I know, it's a little dumb and immature, but it doesn't hurt anyone (we made a gentlemen's agreement against pranks that might be dangerous when we were like 14 and things got a little out of hand), and it makes our lives a little more interesting. We still talk about really good ones years later, like the time he made me think I had a peanut allergy for a week via strategic use of buzz buttons, or the time I had him going for six months that my three cats (identical) were one cat that was just really fast.

However, something unexpected happened this time. I had an old gaming mouse that was starting to die, right? About one click in 10 wouldn't go through. It was also, crucially, identical to the brand new gaming mouse he just got. So I covertly swapped it out for his, intending to give it back when he commented that his mouse was acting weird. Funny joke, right?

Apparently, it went downhill fairly quickly, and while we were hanging out gaming at my place bro finally raged out and threw his laptop while swearing at the "broken piece of overpriced shit". We're talking heated gamer moment here. He immediately looked shocked at himself, and I can't stress enough, this was VERY out of character for him. He explained that (he thought) the usb port was getting iffy and not accepting his mouse inputs. He was going to get it looked at, and now also to fix the broken screen. He left pretty quickly after that.

I still feel so bad about it. I haven't told him about the prank yet, and I don't know if I should. AITA? Did I go too far?

I do not actually know if this will reach anyone who is German, but I just have to do something.

Today it became public that our Nazi Party the AFD had secret (now not so secret anymore) plans of deporting unwanted people.

If you're not German you may or may not have heard that there's a huge scandal going on there right now.

Germany's second-largest party (called AfD)--which is on the extreme right--had a secret meeting with affiliated groups in which they discussed the deportation of possibly millions of people they don't like, primarily immigrants and anyone with immigrant ancestors.

They also discussed methods how to sow distrust in the legitimacy of future elections and how to challenge elections in court. They're going Trump style but in Germany.

Now discussions flare up again why the party hasn't been banned yet. (By German law, this is possible if your party aims to get rid of democracy.) From what I understand the supreme court hesitates because no one knows what the consequences would look like. If you take away the party from such a large swath of the population what's gonna happen? "Just" riots? A civil war? A fascist coup?

I have no idea if this will actually reach anybody at all, but this is important to me.

An, in my opinion very good, German YouTuber called TJ just released a 50-minute-long video about the right wing political party or even Nazi party AfD, which stands for Alternative für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany) and their racist, anti environmental and misanthropic agenda. It is incredibly well made, has weeks if not months of research behind it with well over 200 sources. This topic is incredibly important given the recent upsurge of right wing and nazi-like rhetoric all over the world.

The video itself touches on their political agenda and the contradictions within said agenda, their stance on the topic of climate change and the role humanity plays in that, their political views on LGBTQIA+ topics and immigration, as well as the overlap between the AfD and the third Reich.

I do not know if this video has good English closed captions/subtitles but please, consider watching it. This topic is immensely important and needs to receive way more attention.

Kiyana had never seen Josh look so defeated as he sat at the other end of the table with his lawyer. He had his hand folded together and would not look up from the table. He hadn’t even spoken since he walked into the room, only giving his lawyer a head nod or shake when asked a question. 

She had tried so damn hard to move forward with her marriage with Josh, but they were always walking on eggshells around each other. It wasn’t like before when they were two people who fell in love in highschool and thought they would be together forever. It was different. For Kiyana, it was like waking up next to a stranger everyday for six months. He was still Josh, he just wasn’t her Josh. He wasn’t the same Josh she fell in love with in highschool. His affair tarnished his image.
