‘Don’t tease Virat Kohli,’ Amitabh Bachchan warns Windies bowlers after 1st T20I - cricket
Tumblr media
Virat Kohli grabbed all the headlines after his stupendous innings in the first T20 international against West Indies at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Kohli scored an unbeaten 94 runs to power India to a 6-wicket win over the Windies and gave his country a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Kohli struck 6 sixes and 6 fours, and despite wickets falling on the other end, he maintained his composure to see the match through. This is was incidentally Kohli’s highest individual score in T20Is, surpassing his previous best of 90. However, there was a moment when Kohli showed the competitive side of his game. Kohli smashed the Windies bowler Kesrick Williams for 23 runs in the 16th over and also took time out to mock the pacer with his trademark “notebook” celebration after hitting him for a six. This was Kohli’s reaction:- READ | Yuzvendra Chahal equals R Ashwin’s massive T20I record   Bollywood superstar and legend Amitabh Bachchan was also left in awe of Kohli’s performance and lauded the Indian captain for winning the match for his country. Bachchan also warned the bowlers not to tease Virat by using an analogy from his cult movie ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. “Yaar, how many times I have told you this, don’t tease Virat, but you did not listen to me, now see he gave you a perfect response, look at West Indies’ face, how much he rattled them (with due respects to Anthony Bhai),” Bachchan tweeted in Hindi. You’re always an inspiration.’   Haha love the dialogue Sir. You’re always an inspiration. 🙌🏼 — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) December 7, 2019 After the match finished Kohli explained why he chose to imitate Williams during the match. He said that cricket is all about playing hard, but in the end, it is important to have respect for your opponents. Williams had given Kohli a ‘notebook-style’ goodbye in 2017 after taking his wicket and Kohli chose to give it back to him. “No, it is not the CPL. It happened to me in Jamaica when he got me out so I thought I would tick a few in the notebook as well but all good, smiles out there, in the end, that’s what you want to see, good competitive cricket but at the end of the day we shake hands, that’s what cricket is all about, play hard but at the end have respect for your opponents,” Kohli said at the post-match ceremony. India will have a chance to seal the series when they face West Indies in the second T20I on Sunday, December 8. Source link Read the full article

Why you shouldn’t keep drafts for too long...
So i wrote this post ages ago waiting to post it and it’s the perfect example of why not to keep drafts for too long. I mean how my style or writing on the blog has changed since then. TBH i still need to learn how to write down-to-earth yet entertaining blog posts but i’m learning(Doesn’t help that i forget to read from the bloggers that Maryam has recommended).
Here’s the post: “Hi guys, it's ridiculously overused meme here, How boh dat? Today, We're going to talk about the time I met Abdul Razzaq and the irish women's cricket team in an orgy?!?!?!?!?!(No clickbait(clickbait)). But yes, there was this cool event that took place like a month ago and I convinced my dad to go like a day before it actually happened cuz I saw an advertisement on the television.
Wanna hear about it? I'll tell you anyway...
So I don't have any pictures on account of losing my phone so I'm sorry about that you guys. I do have some subjectively fun experiences to share. Honestly guys, it was a really fun day tho and I need to stop hyping it up and actually tell the story. So I saw an ad on tv about this academy opening up and that Brian Lara was going to be there. Being the cricket shawkeen(addict) that I am, I had to go.
So we set off after Jummah Prayer and arrived in like half an hour or so. It's around jumeirah, one of the more posh areas. I was expecting so much or let's say something so much different, but there was literally just an open grass field with carnival themed stands, food stalls and an assortment of little games organized. Initially we weren't sure what to do there because the guests(Lara, Razzaq and Ijaz Ahmed) hadn't arrived but it's hard for me to stay bored when the opportunity to play cricket is around.
We had turns at the carnival-ish stalls; there was paintball, some weird toss thing and one where you had to hit the stumps from a certain mark, I did the best in all but paintball. It was hot and I wasn't motivated ok. We played w some of the other equipment there after which some guy started fidgeting with a microphone. We were just like what even is going on? He made an announcement that the irish women's cricket team was going ot be here soon and that was quite exciting to hear, for us and for the Pathans there(SORRY, JUST A JOKE).
They arrived soon after, along w Abdul Razzaq(I took a selfie with him but have nothing to show for it because no phone :(, *Sighs*. They were so chill and nice, we played a one tip kind of cricket with them and it was really fun. In the end Brian Lara was running a bit too late so we left homebound. It was a great experience tho meeting them and bowling while they fielded which is so cool.
I hope Y'all enjoyed reading about the experiences of a regular Joe like me with other regular Joe's. Stay happy, Stay awesome and I'll see you guys in the next post! “
That was the post and i wrote it when “How boh dat” was a thing so you can imagine. I’m not gonna bore you with everything that’s wrong with it, rather i’ll make a post soon on how i write my posts and little tips into writing on this platform(My way of motivating myself to research). That’ll be a big one so can’t wait. see you guys soooooon.

He has an awkward action, and he runs awkwardly, but his ball release is tremendous. It falls on the seam. There were world class players at that time. Now there are no longer world class players. There is no depth in bowling, batting or fielding. It is all basic now,” he said.“Like if Virat Kohli scores, so he scores. Yeah, he is a good player for them and is performing consistently, but you cannot place him in the same category as Sachin Tendulkar. He belongs to a completely different category,” Razzaq said.
