Horrifying video reveals molting spider rustling in woman's ear
Tumblr media
The spider in the woman's ear was making continuous, weird clicking and rustling noises that were so bad, she couldn't sleep.
Scared of spiders? You might want to look away now.
In a bizarre medical case, a woman in Taiwan got a nasty shock when doctors discovered a spider about 0.1 inch (0.25 centimeters) long crawling in her left ear canal. At first glance, it looks like there are two spiders scuttling around in there, but the second arachnid is actually just the spider's molted hard outer shell, or exoskeleton.
The 64-year-old woman had visited an ear, nose and throat clinic at the Tainan Municipal Hospital in Taiwan after spending four days hearing weird sounds in her left ear.
The day her symptoms started, she was woken up to a strange feeling that a creature was moving inside her ear. She then began to hear incessant beating, clicking and rustling sounds that were so bad, she struggled to sleep.
At the hospital, doctors discovered that a small spider with bulging, brown eyes was moving within the ear's external auditory canal, the passageway that links the outside of the ear to the eardrum. They also saw that the spider had molted its ghostly white exoskeleton — something that spiders normally do when they grow so that it can be replaced with a new one.
"She didn't feel pain because the spider was very small. It's just about 2 to 3 millimeters [0.07 to 0.12 inch]," Dr. Tengchin Wang, co-author of the report and director of the otolaryngology department at Tainan Municipal Hospital, told NBC News.
The case report, published Oct. 21 in The New England Journal of Medicine, didn't note the species of spider or how the critter might have gotten into the woman's ear. Although these instances are rare, there have been documented cases of spiders crawling into people's ears, and it happens with insects, too: Live insects account for about 14% to 18% of cases of the foreign objects that doctors find in the external auditory canal. This is likely because the area is warm and dark, so it provides a welcoming space for these critters.
Dr. David Kasle, an otolaryngologist at ENT Sinus and Allergy of South Florida who was not involved in the woman's case, told NBC News that the average ear, nose and throat specialist will see "tens, if not more, of bugs or some sort of arthropod" in ear canals throughout their career. However, he said this particular case was "unusual and disturbing."
Wang had seen insects — such as ants, moths and cockroaches — in people's ears before, but he'd never come across a spider that had shed its exoskeleton inside a person's ear canal, NBC News reported.
Wang and his team successfully removed the spider and its exoskeleton from the woman's ear by sucking it out with a thin tube, called a cannula, placed through an otoscope, a tool doctors use to look into the ear. The woman's symptoms vanished after the arachnid was removed. For bigger spiders or insects, a local anesthetic should be used to kill the critter before it's removed to "prevent excessive movements and subsequent damage to the structures of the ear," the case report authors wrote.
However, liquids should never be used if the eardrum has been pierced and has holes in it, the authors cautioned; this wasn't the case for women in Taiwan. Wang told NBC News that, to be on the safe side, anyone who experiences any of these symptoms should see a doctor even if they think the bug or spider has exited their ear, just in case an antenna or exoskeleton got left behind.

Inclusivity in Action: Stories of Triumph in Special Needs Classrooms
Today’s society thrives on being inclusive and diverse, welcoming everyone from all walks of life into the same space without judgment. Thus, understanding individuality and embracing inclusivity and diversity in the classroom is also important. Students of the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) are being taught the importance of welcoming students with special needs in general classrooms. To better understand the program, learn how it is essential to incorporate inclusivity in special needs students first.
Creating Inclusive Classrooms
To initiate a discussion on creating inclusive learning environments, we must first define what constitutes an inclusive classroom. It is a space where general education teachers collaborate with special education teachers to meet the diverse needs of students within a single classroom. Inclusive classrooms support all students, fostering opportunities for mutual learning and coexistence breaking down barriers for the newer generation of students.
Creating Teachers for Inclusive Classrooms
Before a teacher can implement an inclusive classroom, they must earn their Bachelor of Special Needs Education degree. BSNEd is a four-year program that aims to train aspiring special needs teachers to instruct and manage their special needs students in multiple settings. Graduates of this program also have multiple career opportunities, such as:
Special Education Teacher
Therapist/Clinician in a Special Education Center/Clinic
Learning Support Staff
Intervention Specialist
Tutor
Job/Behavior Coach
In order to be licensed professionals in the field, graduates must first earn their Certificate in Special Education in the Philippines. Teachers specializing in Special Needs Education are highly skilled and trained in various aspects. Graduates of this program are trained to handle students with all forms of disabilities, from physical to mental limitations, and how they could ensure that their students can learn and adapt despite their conditions.
Wins in Student Inclusivity in the Philippines
The Philippines has been actively making educational institutions inclusive for all attending students. A few of these triumphs include accommodating students with wheelchairs by having them use ramps and elevators, braille elevator buttons for visually impaired students, and braille textbooks. Aside from that, sign language interpreters are also employed for auditory students who need them. Although inclusive education in the country is still transitioning, academic institutions have been moving in the right direction.
In July of 2021, former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte signed the Republic Act No. 11560, instituting a policy of inclusion and services for learners with disabilities to support inclusive education. It establishes inclusive learning resource centers for learners with disabilities in all school districts, municipalities, and cities, providing for standards, appropriating funds, and other purposes.
With these small and big wins, there is no denying that special education in the country is thriving. That is why more and more students pursue a Bachelor of Special Needs Education degree to accommodate the demand for inclusive education.
Conclusion
There are significant strides to create inclusive classrooms in the Philippines. Students must enroll in a bachelor's degree and pursue a Certificate in Special Needs Education in the Philippines as part of those big leaps. Be part of the change in creating safer educational institutions in the Philippines for students with special needs by enrolling in BSNEd. My Second Cinema Experience
As I perambulate around in the memoirs of my childhood, the memory of my second cultural outing fills me with delirious joy, in a time when the world was simpler, the pace relaxed and the neon was brighter. It was an epiphanic moment that transpired six months following my maiden fiasco, where my technical know-how in the world of visual storytelling was put to the test. But this time around, I was accompanied by a wealthy entourage of distinguished erudite persons, including maternal and avuncular figures, at the Swapan puri-the edifice of dreams of Bansberia-a picturesque township in the district of Hooghly.

Our destination was none other than the silver screen to partake in one of the then cinematic masterpieces, 'Lawaris' (The Orphan Guy), a blockbuster that had hit the silver screens in the year 1981. The cinematic masterpiece was crafted under the deft aegis of maven director, Mr. Prakash Mehra, and boasted arresting performances by thespian stalwarts, including Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Amzad Khan and Rakhee Gulzar.

As we ventured down the marbled passages, I could feel a tingle of excitement course through my veins. The posters plastered on the walls beckoned, promising scenes of action and adventure, romance, and comedy. The sound of the crowd hummed in the air, vibrant and alive with anticipation.
We found our seats, and I settled in, eager to experience what the legendary Lawaris had to offer. As the lights went down, the excitement in the theatre was palpable. The audience sat still, their breaths held, as the story of Lawaris unfolded in all its glory.
As the credits rolled, I was bewitched by the peppy, foot-tapping melodies comprising the earsplitting auditory hooks, such as 'Mere Aangne Mein Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai' and 'Apni To Jaisi Taisi', phrasing an aesthetic and boisterous marquee, arpeggiated by the musical prowess of the lyrical duo of India, Kalyanji Anandji . The musical score simulated spectral rhymes and induced jerky spasms in my fledgling self, prompting me to flounce and gyrate euphorically along with the beats of the hypnotic soundtrack, despite it having a seat reserved in my name.
Despite my tender years, the nonpareil performance of the formidable lead, Amitabh Bachchan, left an indelible impression on my young mind. Every move he made, every expression that graced his face, was etched in my memory, imprinting an image of a confident, self-assured being, untouchable in his prowess.
As the plot thickened, the exhilarating climax of the frenzy-thickened tale where the protagonist, Heera, administered a beating of biblical proportions to a horde of fearsome protagonists, evoked a debonair composure in the protagonist, a countenance bereft of any vulnerability, in stark contrast to the protagonist of my prior cinematic encounter.
All in all, my second cinematic indulgence had become a real eye-opener, striking a chord with my nascent self and fanning the flames of my imagination. The balletic amalgam of colourful choreography, resplendent melodies and thespian theatrics had effaced the ennui from my existence and left me yearning for more cinematic marvels- a feeling that persisted throughout my life into adulthood. It is a testament to the power of cinema to transport us to other worlds, other times, and make us feel alive; a legacy that lives on, year after year, drawing in audiences young and old, and leaving them with unforgettable memories.

What Does a Mechanic Do? | brucebuddenautomotive.com.au
Regular car service and maintenance is crucial to your vehicle's overall health. In addition to repairing your vehicle's major systems, it is important to maintain regular preventive maintenance. Without regular maintenance, your car's performance could suffer and its lifespan could be shortened. A routine tune-up at a reputable mechanic is crucial to keep your car running at peak performance.
car service
It is best to have your car serviced on a regular basis to ensure optimum car performance. Regular servicing will keep your car in excellent condition and save you money on repairs in the long run. It will also improve fuel efficiency, handling and the engine's performance. It will also reduce the risk of breakdowns.
A simple oil and filter change usually takes less than an hour. However, an interim service can take up to two hours, depending on the number of components that need to be checked. A full Car repairs can take up to 3 hours. It will take longer if more detailed services are required, but will be cheaper overall.
A basic car service includes checking the tires, fluid levels, and other amenities of the car. A full service will also include a visual inspection and certain technical checks. It will also inspect and repair all electronics. The battery will also be checked. It will be necessary to have a full service once in a while.
A full service also includes checking your car's lubricants. These fluids are important for the performance of the engine. They can break down and lose their efficiency over time. Replacing them early will prevent further damage to the vehicle and prevent a costly accident.
mechanics repairs
Mechanics are trained to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles, including cars and trucks. Many mechanics also repair electrical systems. Some are employed in dealerships while others operate their own businesses. These professionals typically work full-time hours and are often on call for overtime or weekend work. Earning manufacturer-specific certifications can give you the edge in the job market. There are various training programs available, including the Automotive Technical Institute.
Mechanics use specialized diagnostic tools to assess the condition of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. They are trained to identify malfunctions through visual and auditory means. In addition, they use complex testing equipment, such as engine analyzers and compression testers. These tools can help mechanics determine what repairs are needed and which components may be salvageable.
The job of an automotive mechanic varies greatly, depending on their specialty. Some specialize in a particular area of automobile repair, such as engine or transmission. Some work on trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. Other jobs focus on municipal and construction vehicles. Many high schools offer automotive training programs. However, employers prefer mechanics with a higher level of education and training.
Tech Finder is an online service that connects you with mechanics repairs who specialize in your vehicle's make and model. The program also offers scheduling options so you can schedule a convenient appointment with a mechanic. You can also chat with the mechanic and keep track of your order history. This site supports multiple languages and allows you to save multiple cars at the same time.
  mechanics
Mechanics perform general inspections and repair work on gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. They use visual and auditory examination methods to diagnose malfunctions and make necessary repairs. They may also use sophisticated test equipment such as engine analyzers and compression testers, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to determine the extent of repairs.
There are many different types of auto repairs, from oil changes and tire pressure checks to overhauling the transmission or diagnosing electronic problems. Many of these repairs are covered under the original warranty or a manufacturer's service campaign. Some warranties even specify who must perform the repairs. Therefore, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with basic maintenance.
Mechanics can be employed by auto dealerships, service stations, and independent mechanics. Independent mechanics can work on their own or offer mobile services to vehicle owners. In many cases, they will need to discuss details of a repair with a customer. Mechanics may also be responsible for advising owners on how to maintain their vehicles.

Gush about Majak please!
Six Facts about Majak Isakssen from my fanfic HTTYD: Wayra!
He was born on the 26th of august of 1999, during summer, in the Sermersooq Municipality of Eastern Greenland!
He is Inuit. His paternal grandfather was from New Berk but other than that, the rest of his viking heritage is veeery, veeeery distant.
Some of his physichal attributes include: A scar on his upper left arm from a dog sledding accident, his left pinky is crooked from that same accident, and he has very acute hearing (or, rather, his auditory processing makes it difficult for him to focus on one single noise and zone out the rest)
Majak’s dragon is a night light named Astor, but he accidentally renamed him to Atsor because he misread his name-tag. Majak is the first night light rider in a veeeeery long time. If asked how he managed to bond with the dragon, he’ll answer, “I waited and observed”. You’ll find out why eventually!
His taste in clothes/style includes softer fabrics (such as cotton and polar fleece) and greyish or pastel colors. He does not enjoy rougher frabrics such as jeans or brand new wool. If he owns any woolen clothing, it’s second-hand and already worn down. Regarding his hair, he keeps it mid-shoulderblade lenght, always tied either with a ponytail or a topknot. He does not enjoy the feeling of it on his face but struggles with haircuts. While dragon riding, he wears a red bandana to keep it away from his face.
He speaks Inuktitut and its sign language equivalent. His second languages are english and its sign language equivalent. He understands a fair share of modern norse, but does not speak nor sign it. Majak speaks only if extremely neccesary or if he is using echolalia. He mostly communicates via writing on his phone or a text-to-audio app!
thanks for stopping by!!

YOU KNOW ALL OF THESE 🙄🙃💖
First movie you can recall ever watching?
In theaters? Chicago! I was like, 7. Lmao
Least favorite holiday?
Valentine’s Day. It’s a “holiday” but you don’t get potential time off for it. So capitalism worked hard on that one.
Are you an auditory, visual, or tactile learner?
Visual with a dash of tactile!
Do you have allergies?
When I was but a young bebé I had allergic reactions to baby Tylenol, but no real allergies as an adult. Except for when it’s windy during the spring and fall and I sneeze a million times and cry uncontrollably.
Happiest memory?
Watching my mom hug her baby sister that she hadn’t seen in 10 years. Which was also a bittersweet moment. Being the daughter of immigrants is hard.
How often do you use chapstick?
When my lips start to get crusty.
What subject do you wish you were an expert in?
Food Science.
Would you travel to another planet?
Nope!
If you could make any job you want, what would it be?
Ugh. I’d want to be in product development (either for plant based foods or cosmetics) and have a flexible schedule and lots of PTO and I’d make a real, living, functional salary. Or I’d work in municipal water. Both of which don’t have much opportunities where I currently live and want to continue living.
Scariest story?
One time, when I was in high school, I was in bed and just heard a full on strum of my guitar. Couldn’t fall asleep that night. But the real scary story here, is life.

Orgone Energy and Our Perception of Sound
Tumblr media
Central Valley sunset during massive transmutation on Apr. 9, 2019
Apr. 10, 2019
We live in a noisy world. There are many sources of life negating sounds. People are desensitized to abrasive noise and treat you like you’re weak and “sensitive” if it bothers you and you desire peace and quiet. In actuality, they are the ones with a problem and they enable the problem to continue by being apathetic. They allow their parasitic controllers to dictate their ability to rest, relax, concentrate, or simply exist. It’s the same as how they can eat McDonalds, which would send me to the emergency room, and how they can live in a head crushing DOR environment, while my head hurts after a few minutes of using a smart phone. There is really nothing we can do about neutralizing life negating sound, since it’s completely accepted. Or is there?
We had a computer meltdown last week and are still in the process of regrouping. This computer provided our morning white noise so that we could sleep past 7am along with performing many other functions in our daily business and work. We just returned from a big job in Fresno, gridding the entire city with orgonite. I would say we covered 95% of the cell towers, or a conservative estimate of 200 towers in the Fresno and Clovis area. It made a 180 degree turnaround in the atmospheric energy and the weather in one day’s time. We knew that when we returned to our home we would have to rearrange how we play our white noise, but we were too tired last night to get technical. So instead of doing this, we decided to see if the orgonite gifting would help the noise problem here, since these are very wide reaching operations. It did, and we got to sleep until we actually needed to get up to feel rested, a little before 9am. Normally peak noise hours by our house are 7-9am weekdays.
In the war on sleep, 7am is now the acceptable time for noise to start according to laws of most municipalities. Therefore, you may expect this to be your wake up time. You will be treated like you’re lazy if you have a wake up time that is later than this one, just like you’re treated like you’re crazy if you don’t like hearing a truck idling outside of your house for several hours each day. You may even be treated like you’re a deadbeat if you require eight hours or more of sleep. I am at my most efficient with at least 9 hours of sleep and I go to sleep after 11pm usually. Am I lazy, or have I done tireless research and work in the field of orgonomy day in and day out for five years? Am I lazy because I produce audio and video content, maintain a fastidious journal of our field work, write articles and a book, and constantly produce quality hand made orgonite because I am more productive in the afternoon than the morning? Most people don’t naturally wake up early and enjoy being up later at night. They are treated like the minority even though they are the majority because this world is parasitically infected and inverted. They don’t want us getting a good night’s rest. Noise is a huge part of the war on sleep.
Because people do not want to be alone with their thoughts, and because over decades their attention span and concentration have been eroded by television, computers, and now smart phones, they actually seem to be comfortable in noisy environments. I don’t know if they actually prefer them or not. I would need to take a survey. I don’t prefer noisy environments. I like peace and quiet and don’t mind being alone with my thoughts. But for most people, a moment of silence, which once resulted in lighting a cigarette, now results in grabbing for the smart phone and clicking around on the tiny screen or watching a video. Then they feel better. All the thoughts are gone and replaced with the thoughts the parasites program through the phone.
There are two ways in which we are now seeing the possibility of using orgonite to help with noise pollution. One is by reducing the effects of mind controlling EMF. We have actually witnessed different and unusual human behavior in thoroughly gifted areas. By unusual, I mean behavior that is almost human. The other way it can help is by changing our perception of sound, or perhaps the quality of the sound itself. Life negating noise is consistently quieter on high OR days.
Regarding the human mind, we noticed that the usual perpetrators of morning noise were less active this morning. Trucks were shut off and not left to idle, workers who burn off hours bulldozing, chain sawing, and driving tractors were absent. It was odd, but of course welcome given how tired we were after two full days of heavy work and long drives. We had a most peaceful and harmonious morning. We have seen a direct correlation between high OR and less mind control related noise. The smart phones dictate most people’s thoughts actions most of the time by rerouting mental pathways. If they want to target you with an etheric attack, they do it through the phone or wifi. If they can’t do this to you because you refuse these devices, they will program others around you through their devices to disturb and abuse you.
In Fresno, I had a very interesting interaction with a young EMF addict at Whole Foods. We were eating our lunch at a long communal table and a little man sat down next to Gabriel. He immediately started playing some game on the smart phone which made annoying jingling sounds. Gabriel looked at me and said it was time to move. I did something I don’t usually do because it never works and usually ends in frustration. I asked the addict to please turn off the sound or put on his headphones. He looked at me with utter shock, mouth agape. He said unexpectedly, “I’ll do it just for you.” I thanked him and continued eating. A few minutes later, he grabbed for the phone and put on a music video. We got up and moved. What interested me about this exchange was that he turned it off at all. Most people of that low consciousness level cannot understand why others would not want to hear mind numbing media played through horrible quality speakers. I believe that it was the neutralization of the towers that even allowed his mind to be considerate for a moment. Of course, the addiction then took control again.
There is one more aspect to noise that I have noticed over the past several months and especially in the past few days. In Fresno on day one before gifting the city, we awoke to a lot of traffic noise since we were staying near an intersection of two major streets. The next day, also a weekday, the same traffic sounded like it was at about half the decibel level of the first morning. This is after over two thirds of the city was gifted. Nothing had actually changed physically in the amount of traffic. Recently near our house, I have noticed that on high OR days, the same negative sounds are quieter. On DOR days they are much louder. This morning, I heard some traffic and motors outside, but it was so quiet it almost sounded like nothing, and this is a weekday with typical weekday traffic. It was also an exceptionally high OR day with cold, clear air after the high winds throughout Central California last night. We didn’t even need our white noise or earplugs. It was dead silent outside all morning.
When OR is high, the landscape looks different. It’s more vibrant and colorful. On DOR days, the same land looks grey and drab. OR changes the way things look. Vision is our mind translating a vibration into the sense of sight. This vibration is affected by life affirming and life negating energy. It would stand to reason that since sound is a vibration, it can also be affected by these energies. OR seems to either change the quality of the sound or how it is perceived by our minds. Our ears translate the vibration into a sense we can understand. On a high OR day, life negating sounds seem to be neutralized. On a high DOR day, they are amplified. These new discoveries may be yet another way to combat life negating frequency, in this case sound. OR and DOR truly are at the core of everything we perceive in the Universe. They are the energies of creation and destruction, and one cannot exist without the other. We should choose creation over destruction in our own lives at every chance we get and that includes the auditory sense.

A Beating Heart
Nines gets a kitty. c: This was honestly inspired by a picture of a injured(damaged?) RK900 holding a kitten.
~x~
It was a chilly Detroit night as RK900 made it's way home after completing it's latest mission. While the crime scene had initially looked to be a break in and missing person's case, it had turned out to be nothing more than an accident while playing hide and go seek. The baby sitter had slipped on a toy and crashed into a bookshelf and glass table. While her injuries were serious, she would likely make a full recovery. The child had been frightened by the noise and remained in their surprisingly good hiding place. If the android didn't have it's bio-sensors the child would have likely not been found. Naturally, Nines had been the one to solve the case as Gavin hung out in a corner being useless and hurling insults at it. Insults so petty that even if Nines had feelings to be hurt, it still would have been rolling it's optical components. Once the case had been solved, Gavin took off without the RK900, leaving it to walk home. It didn't mind though, it didn't feel cold nor did it have emotions to be impacted by Gavin's callousness.
The android suddenly paused, it's LED flickering yellow in contemplation. It had heard something. The noise was very faint, and indeed only barely registered in it's auditory processor, but it was a noise all the same. While RK900 did not experience curiosity, it's investigative protocols seemed to kick in from the noise. It supposed that it wouldn't hurt to see what the cause was, after all it could be a crime in progress or a person that needs help. As an officer of the law, it's main mission is to protect and serve the people.
The closer that Nines got to the sound, the more it determined that the sound was most definitely not human. It went into an abandoned alleyway, sensors on high alert in case this was meant to be a trap. Anti-android traps weren't exactly uncommon. They were completely illegal though. RK900 knelt down in front of a small box, one hand on it's gun and the other carefully reaching into the desecrated cardboard stack. There was definitely something in there, and Nines' bio-scanner could only detect faint signs from one source. The inside of the box. It removed it's hand from it's gun and gently pulled the critter from the box to get a better look at it.
"Mew!" A tiny orange tabby greeted the android. The kitten wiggled around, and Nines kept a gentle, but steady grip on the furry critter. It let out quiet, but steady mews and the android looked it over. First thing of note, the kitten seemed to be only about two weeks old, female, and possibly orphaned. Nines looked around and back at the cold and malnourished kitten. Definitely orphaned. Also of note, the kitten's internal temperature was dangerously low. She will die soon if RK900 doesn't help her. Of course, caring for animals, baby animals especially was not in it's programming. It didn't go against it, but it wasn't within the parameters of what was expected from it. And yet, despite this, Nines found itself tucking the small, chatty thing into it's jacket. Androids didn't produce heat like mammals do, while it was true that the electrical conduction happening in their processors and inner workings did give off heat, the thirium that fueled them also acted as a coolant. It meant that androids were almost always room temperature or cooler. It was one of the things that made them distinguishable from humans. But in that moment, the only thing preventing a cold death for that poor kitten was the climate inappropriate fabric making up the android's jacket. It wasn't much, but it would have to do.
With the kitten secured, Nines made it's way to the nearest animal shelter. The local municipal shelter was thankfully still open, even if Nines had only managed to come in a few minutes before they closed for the night. Being a public shelter, they would have to take the tiny tabby in. The squirrely young man at the counter was cleaning up when he saw RK900 approaching. He immediately stiffened once he caught sight of the android. He was obviously intimidated, but RK900 didn't care. The android approached the man.
"I found this-" the human flinched as RK900 reached into it's jacket, only to relax when it pulled the kitten out. "In a box outside. It's hypothermic, malnourished, dehydrated, and likely abandoned." The young man's eyes softened as he grasped the small kitten.
"Poor baby..." He cooed softly, cradling the infant tabby to his chest. He gave Nines a grave look. "We don't have any volunteers available to care for this kitten, unfortunately. So, if you are unable to take her, we'll have to euthanize her." RK900 remained stoic, and the man cast his gaze to the side. "However, if you'd be willing to keep the kitten, I'll feed her and give her some treatment right now and I could give you some supplies to care for her."
RK900 was a machine, it ran off protocols and functions. It did not feel, it could not feel. And unlike it's predecessor, it did not go deviant and start simulating human emotions. Even the steady thrum of the thirium pump in it's chest was only a utility meant to keep it functional. It wasn't like a beating heart. And yet still, the RK900 found itself accepting the young man's offer foster the squirmy furball. He seemed surprised that Nines had decided to keep the kitten. Even RK900 itself couldn't explain what was driving it to put so much effort into trying to save one insignificant animal. It knew that the kitten's chances of survival were low, but it was trying to help it anyway.
Once the kitten had been re-hydrated, warmed, and fed, the squirrely young man gave RK900 some kitten meal replacement formula, a small bed with a blanket, a heating pad, and a bottle. Along with instructions on caring for kittens. When it got home, the android set up the small bed and heating pad for the kitten next to it's work desk. As for Nines' apartment, it was basically an empty apartment with a desk and a single shelving unit. Some called it weird, others called it minimalistic, Nines called it an apartment. It looked over at the teeny tabby curled up on the small cat bed next to it's work desk. Without even considering why, Nines got down and sat next to the kitten, gently running his fingertips on the kitty's head. The kitten purred and leaned into the touch, even going as far as to start kneading it's blanket. Nines couldn't explain it's behavior. It couldn't feel the kitten's fur under it's fingertips, but it assumed that it was warm and soft. Even if it had no real concept of what warm and soft really are, it could define them as adjective words, but had no real reference of what they really felt like. RK900 paused, fingers on either side of the kitten's neck. There was no real reason for it to care for this small creature. After all, she served no purpose in accomplishing it's set task. And it didn't feel anything. It wouldn't be sad or heartbroken if the kitten were to die. In fact... RK900 added minor pressure to the kitten's neck. ...It could probably kill the thing and feel nothing at all.
...
Nines removed it's fingers from the kitten's neck. It felt absolutely nothing for this kitten, but still couldn't bring itself to kill her. It wondered why, it couldn't comprehend the reasons for keeping the thing alive. The kitten served no purpose and was only a use of RK900's time and a potential distraction. Though, it supposed that maybe one of it's co-workers would be open to taking in the kitten. As for now, RK900 was more than capable of caring for a simple kitten. She needed to be fed every few hours, but since androids don't require rest, that really isn't a problem.
As the time to start work for the next day drifted closer, Nines found that the newly fed kitten was nestling against and kneading (or rather, attempting to knead) it's chest. The kitten likely felt the vibrations from it's thirium pump and must have assumed that the biocomponant was it's mother's heart. Rather than remove the kitten, Nines gently stroked the tabby's head and went back to contemplating why it didn't leave the kitten to die. But no matter which point it attempted to address the question from, it could find no answer. It didn't know why it decided to save the kitten's life. It just did. There was also another problem to consider. It wondered if it should give the kitten a name of some sort. Nines couldn’t keep calling her “kitten.”
Ultimately it decided that naming the cat was too deviant.
At the precinct, the kitten got loads of positive attention. Plenty of "awwws" and "so cutes" from the other officers as she wiggled around in her pet carrier. Unfortunately, no one offered to take her. As soon as Gavin spotted RK900, he sauntered over, likely prepping another one of his speeches about how humans are better than androids or whatever. However the smirk fell from his face once he heard a tiny mew emanating from the carrier.
"Hey Nines, you got a cat?" Gavin was reaching into the carrier and gently stroking the little kitten with a finger. She responded by purring and rubbing against his hand. "Aww, soft kitter. Smol kitter..." Gavin purred.
"...Kitter?" That's an interesting term for a cat. "I found her abandoned in a cardboard box at approximately 11:24 last night."
"So what did you name her?" Gavin held in an ugly laugh. "Cat?"
"I didn't." Nines didn't even look at his co-worker, he had been done with this conversation before it had begun. "I plan on giving her to someone else. I have no intentions of adopting this cat."
"Really now?" Gavin's smirk was a little less malicious than usual. "They all say that."
"I am not adopting this animal." RK900's stoic face and monotone voice held. Gavin shrugged. "Well detective Reed, you're quite fond of domestic felines. Why don't you take her?" Gavin laughed, hard.
"I have three cats already, Nines. This little pumpkin," Gavin gestured towards the kitten that was now napping. "Is your responsibility." He laughed as he walked away and RK900 went back to working at it's terminal.
Later on, RK900 found itself being bothered by it's predecessor.
"You adopted a kitten?" There was a hint of surprise to the RK800's tone. It was looking into the pet carrier, head tilted slightly.
"I found her."
"Really?" Connor smiled slightly. "Well, RK900, I didn't peg you as the type to do animal rescue. What are you naming her?"
"I'm not, my plan is to give her to someone else."
"Oh." The android deflated slightly. "I'd take her, but Sumo might not get along with her." Of course Connor would offer to help, as it was known to simulate empathy. However, introducing a new animal into a household that already has pets is not an easy thing to do. Cats and dogs don't always get along, and a small kitten wouldn't stand a chance if Sumo decided that he didn't want to share his home. That end result would be... less than ideal.
[^Software Instability]
Nines casually ignored the warning in his peripheral and went back to work.
It wasn't until late, when RK900 was about to return home when LT Anderson approached it.
"So I heard you were looking for someone to give your little kitten to."
"Yes I was, did you happen to know someone who-"
"Look," Hanks eyes and voice were firm, commanding even. "Don't pawn that poor kitten off to someone else if you can take care of it. It's bad enough the poor little guy lost it's momma. It doesn't need to be abandoned again." Hank was about to go when he suddenly turned back around to face RK900. "Oh and give the poor thing a name for fucks sake."
Hank's words had an effect on Nines, as he carefully considered what the old man had said to him. He told him in no uncertain terms to adopt the cat. Of course, RK900 didn't take orders from him, so he had no obligation to listen. There really wasn't anything stopping him from dropping the kitten off at some shelter and going about it's existence. However, instead Nines found itself walking back into it's apartment and preparing some food for the kitten. It had no explanation for why it had decided to keep the kitten. It just did.
Once the kitten was nice and fed and slipped out of Nine's grasp and wiggled up to his pump regulator. The kitten rubbed against the area and started to purr.
[^Software Instability]
Nines didn't truly comprehend what it was experiencing in that moment, but it seemed pleasant. It gently rested it's hand on the kitten and began stroking her softly. Pumpkin Spice. Nines would name the kitten Pumpkin Spice. The kitten mewed softly as the android cradled her against it's chest. Unlike Pumpkin Spice, Nines didn't have a beating heart in it's chest. Only the cold, steady thrum of a thirium pump to keep it going.
But for Pumpkin Spice, that would do.

Home Remedies For Tinnitus
Tinnitus Home Remedies Really Work
Knowledge of tinnitus
Tinnitus is not a Life-Threatening Disease, but it can be difficult to live with. It is natural that you Feel Anxiety or anxiety when you get Tinnitus. Therefore, it is important that you seek advice and guidance on how to proceed. It is possible to live a good life with the noise in the head.
Up to 80 percent of the people seeking Treatment For Their Tinnitus can be helped to some extent. This shows, for example, the experiences from the collaboration between Audiological Department in Odense and the Center for Welfare and Communication.
If you have hearing loss, it is a good idea to get hearing aids, as over 50 percent experience improvement of tinnitus. Today there are combination devices, hearing aids with sound stimulator that can be individually adjusted and help set the tinnitus in the background.
Reactions Typical reactions to tinnitus are to avoid noisy places, music and to protect themselves with earplugs. Avoidance behavior, however, starts the brain's alertness, which can enhance tinnitus. Many experience being alone with the problem, which is difficult to explain to others.
Tinnitus and sound hypersensitivity affect sleep, social desire, level of activity and socializing with family and friends. Stress, worries, inner turmoil, anxiety and concentration problems are also typical reactions.
What can you do yourself? • Do something that captures your thoughts • Rest often, stress off • Contact the course communication center • Use a small radio or sound pad at night • Talk to others about your tinnitus • Avoid isolating yourself
Tumblr media
There are different techniques to "cheat" the brain so it does not focus on the noise. Some audiological departments and communication centers hold courses where one can learn such a technique. Usually, tinnitus is less stressful with time. This is because the brain gets used to the sound and thus can better abstract from it.
Possible causes of tinnitus The underlying reasons for the rise of tinnitus can be many and are often a combination of several things. The lack of opportunity to measure tinnitus as experienced by the patient, however, often makes it difficult for the practitioner to safely say what the individual's tinnitus is due to. Many therefore have to accept that the cause cannot be determined. It may be for one or more of the following reasons:
Stop Tinnitus Instantly
- Hearing damage after loud sound eg concert, New Year fireworks, working with noisy machines etc. - Hearing damage due to benign tumor on the ear nerve. - Untreated hearing impairment - that is, walking around with a hearing loss, but not using hearing aids. - Stress / violent concern / an overload in your life situation - it can be both work-related and personal that you have too much to struggle with. And if you have got tinnitus it will naturally also stress and worry further. - Anxiety / depression - in anxiety you are in emergency preparedness and thus all senses are amplified - also the hearing sense and the sound from the hearing system itself.
When an untreated hearing loss can cause tinnitus, it is because the hearing system simply gets too little sound to work with. There is an increased nerve activity in the auditory system - the brain lacks sound, looks for a signal and misinterpretes.
In addition, the following issues may in some cases also cause tinnitus:
- Meniere's disease caused by changes in the fluid in the inner ear. - A benign knot in the ear canal - Poisoning of sensory cells as a result of certain types of medication (One is aware of the types containing acetylsalicylic acid.) - Ear wax and infections - Heart and circulatory problems - Concussion and Whiplash - High blood pressure, low blood percentage, low metabolism and diabetes - Myoses and dental / jaw problems - Allergy
Treatment If you have significantly annoyed tinnitus with or without hearing loss, you must, according to the rules of the National Board of Health, be referred by your ear doctor to an audiological department for further investigation. Some audiological departments have the offer of tinnitus treatment, others refer to the communication centers (note that some municipalities have repatriated these tasks).
Cure Tinnitus Naturally
As you can read above, you can Get help with audio therapy that is immediately soothing, but often just as long as the sound therapy is present.
The overall treatment for severe tinnitus should, as a rule, be the therapy of well-trained therapists.
There are several directions within tinnitus treatment. Some of the leading experts at home today recommend the Tinnitus Activities Treatment, which combines counseling and sound therapy and focuses on improving the following: thoughts and feelings, hearing, sleep and concentration.
ACT treatment is another more widely used method that is based on the value rather than the symptoms. One works among other things to focus on the meaningful in life.
The so-called TRT-Tinnitus Retraining Therapy - is also used in Denmark, but not to the same extent as ten years ago.
Defocusing techniques, mindfulness and meditation are also well-known elements of tinnitus treatment. Among the newer offers are hypnotherapy.
One of the great challenges is that most people want to have completely removed tinnitus and have to deal with and live with something uncomfortable for perhaps a very long time.
The offers for help include investigation, interviews, testing of aids, referral to therapist/psychologist.

Novel Review: Automatic Reload by Ferrett Steinmetz
Hei Hei and Welcome to MacroMicroCosm Literary Review…
Novel: Automatic Reload Author: Ferrett Steinmetz Publisher: TOR Books (2020) Rating: 4/5 Stars
Today we are diving cautious as a paranoid quadruple amputee cyborg into the cyberpunk romantic kill zone known as Ferrett Steinmetz’s Automatic Reload published in 2020 by Tor Books. Strap into something, prepare your payloads and it’s time to dive in.
I borrowed Automatic Reload’s audiobook from my municipal library’s Libby app, and will be critiquing the audiobook narration by Tim Campbell via Macmillan Audio with Steinmetz’ prose. Tim Campbell’s narration hit my auditory nerves with the same grit as a Private Eye in my spouse’s beloved old radio shows. Instantaneously, I was brought back to The Shadow, and Red Panda Adventures. Mat’s internal narration was made vivid with Campbell’s grit. All goes as expected for a guttural masculine-led audiobook… until Campbell narrates female characters. The grit and gruff voice of our narrator and protagonist Mat (whose name I missed completely for the first few hours of audio storytelling), shifted to a nasal ‘quasi-feminine whine’ each a tad different for the few feminine characters in the novel. While off-putting to hear limp feminine audio, it didn’t stop me from listening to the entire audiobook. I wish Macmillan Audio hired two voice actors, that Sylvia and Trish especially were voiced by a woman. I don’t envy Campbell’s options with Sylvia’s voice, especially in the beginning, Sylvia is a panic-attacked whimpering victim and Mat the rough but conscience-bound redeemer. Maybe it’s a pet peeve of mine, when listening to audiobook narration with too ‘breathy’ a character voice, or too much differentiation between a narrator’s timbre and the various dialogue, but it threw me out of Automatic Reload’s prose a few times and elicited many a rant among our MacroMicroCosm discord server on the nature of respecting female characters by allowing them a more natural voice, and not a whining nasal whimper. It’s unfortunate, because Tim Campbell had the perfect voice for Mat’s rough narration. All in, this was the only issue with the audiobook version of Automatic Reload.
On to Steinmetz’s prose. While entertaining, and a fun way of portraying neuro-divergent characters, Automatic Reload is not making it into my top cyberpunk novels. As it was billed to be a cyberpunk romance, the choice to spend a vast third if not half of the novel in a first-person narrator-protagonist dry technological readout of the various guns, cybernetically augmented prostheses and associated weapons-come-defence programs felt stale as a slice of bread on the kitchen counter in summertime. Maybe engineering isn’t my thing, I know of several friends who would love such attention given to the weaponry, and recommended Automatic Reload to all of them, but a good hour into the prose and all I knew of Mat was the amount of weaponry he possessed on his specialized limbs, that he was attempting to halt a kidnapping, and he was paralyzed with the incapacity to kill. A decent bedrock for a PTSD scarred main character, Mat’s inability to take life becomes a mainstay of the manuscript. This is not in itself a negative. It makes for intriguing prose, and shows his caring, ethical side.
But I could not help feeling Mat’s selfish delusions within the first few chapters. His first-person narration of saving the teenaged girl became more about saving the people, who caused her fear and harm at her expense. When I taught self defence in a university and martial art academy setting, one of the first lessons (especially to the female students) was a defender has the right to go home. The attacker has every opportunity to stop harming you, and them refusing to let go is them allowing you to defend your right to survive unharmed as possible. In the introductory arc, Mat rescues a girl from kidnappers, who are prepared to kill her. Regardless of how noble Mat was in his attempts of causing less harm, I could not stop thinking of the harm he was causing to the poor girl frightened out of her mind, with a knife against her neck. Steinmetz goes so far as to have the girl bleed from a superficial slice to the throat, before our ‘wounded hero’ intervenes in a kinetic fashion.
Mat is not a hero, his paranoia at preventing harm does not make him precisely good. It does, however, make him a fascinating study of an injured veteran compensating for the horrors of war. He reminds me of Perseus, played by Sam Worthington in the 2010 released Clash of the Titans, where Perseus discovers his demi-godhood and struggles to go about his mission as a normal man, not a god. As if his spectacular powers were to be feared or forgotten in self-hatred rather than used to others’ advantages. Even when companions on his voyage begin to die, Perseus sticks to his selfish morals and refuses his inner power until it is all but too late. Just as Perseus could have saved multiple companion’s lives had he accepted his power, so too Mat could have saved the girl from trauma (injection of ‘anti PTSD drugs’ notwithstanding) if he hadn’t attempted to wait the kidnappers out as long as he did, until a last second where she looks into his faceplate and knows she is about to die.
As protagonists go, Mat is an insecure, selfish moralist with his own set of obsessive edits, who passes it off as a sheriff’s bravado in the wild world of body hacking. When his contact and seemingly only friend Trish (whom I loved) gets him a job worth millions, Mat dives in to prevent collateral damage only after she cajoles his ethics, and that is noble. But this is where the novel takes its’ turn. I won’t be going into spoilers much here, but from the moment Mat meets assassin-damsel in distress Sylvia, I could see where the novel’s plot was going, and for the most part I was 9 for 10.
Sylvia’s panic and anxiety disorder took centre stage, as Mat tumbled with her assassin-programmed artificial body, and the other body-hackers who were looking to bring her back and finish their job. The bonding between the two (through ‘old timey cinema) was ultimately endearing but fairly stock, between the constant verbal output of every single technological gadget Mat had on hand, or modified to work, or picked to replace old limbs, or because we were at another moment, where Mat needed to drone on about the tech as if to remind us that we were, in fact, in a cyberpunk setting.
My major criticism of the prose isn’t Mat’s struggle with harm reduction, but the sheer amount of technological data Steinmetz pushed into the manuscript, until I felt like half the novel was a sci-fi reader’s guide to emotionless guns, cybernetic components and threat awareness programming. At a fairly early point in the prose, the tech talk got so redundant if I hadn’t been listening on audiobook in my car, I’d skip pages. Yes, I can see this was a coping mechanism for Mat, and the best way Steinmetz had to frame the science fiction setting in a novel completely from the protagonist’s inner monologue (a literal ’subvocal recording’ as we discover), but it threw me. Automatic Reload lacked a balance between the cold cover of Mat’s obsessions and the emotionally gorgeous story of two wounded people falling in love… while being chased by psycho body-hacking killers.
It’s unfortunate, because the relationship development between Mat and Sylvia is agonizingly sweet. Their ability to both freak out and help each other, the peppering of laughter to break the tension of their run with death were all wonderfully done. Trish, Mat’s business contact and friend is the stand alone best character of the novel. Sassy, strong and incapable of selfish intentions, Trish gives Automatic Reload the backbone it needs to evolve both Mat and Sylvia and drive the plot forward, even through the constant re-hashing of the setting as Mat experienced it. I cared about Trish more than I cared about Mat or Sylvia, beyond their growing connection. The enemies, while trope-ish, were believable in their immensity, and brought me to the feel of a 1980’s action flick with Van Damme, or Norris at the fore… if their female lead happened to be more powerful than the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok.
Steinmetz’s plot in Automatic Reload is visible miles before the chapter headings, and that is unproblematic, if you’re looking for an easy, entertaining read similar to that 1980’s action flick. I won’t say the climax didn’t take a twist, it did, but even when the twist occurred, I again called what would remain of the plot. If you want a cyberpunk weapon’s heavy cute-couple novel to relax with, this will certainly do it for you. Aside from its’ flaws, Automatic Reload has a vulnerability and joy to its escapism, the clinging growth of a relationship in two freaked out, lonely people.
Mat does grow through his moments with Sylvia, but especially with Trish’s advice. If you like to know the technological readout of every warrior’s equipment, watched the Matrix and Maltese Falcon, and enjoy a good gritty radio-show, with romantic plot-line, Automatic Reload is for you. I give it four out of five stars, and imagine the ideal reader would be of the masculine or tech-minded variety who is woke enough to handle a gritty romance with more bullets than people, a transgender best friend, and heroes whose anxiety and PTSD cause as many problems as they eventually, and inevitably, solve.
For those who want something to listen to of a similar feel, I thoroughly advise listening to the Red Panda Adventures.

“Massa Is We Sick? “
What if the world that you assumed to exist since babyhood, isn't the real world?
What if things are very different than what you were led to believe?
Then, you would see things differently.  You would make different assumptions.  And those assumptions would be wrong, but of course, you wouldn't find that out until you stubbed your toe on a rock that appeared to be a flower.
Many Black Americans have had exactly this experience when they entered into a "District" Court.
The Grand Illusion was shattered when the Judge bellowed, "If you say one more word about the Constitution, I am holding you in contempt of court!  The Constitution doesn't apply in this court!"
And the helpless victims were carted off to years in "federal" prison, not understanding what "federal" means, not having a clue why the Constitution wouldn't apply.
It will take effort on your part to come to grips with reality and it won't be pleasant at first, but at the end of the trail lies a glorious truth and others, worthy companions, waiting for you to wake up and find it.
So, let's begin at the beginning....
When you were a baby, you were misidentified as a British Territorial Citizen and a False Registration was established claiming that you were.
This was done on purpose.
Next, all your earthly "estate" was rolled over into a Foreign Situs Trust.  In legal terms, you had, via this False Registration, been trafficked into British Territorial jurisdiction, and unlawfully converted into a British Territorial U.S. Citizen----just like someone born in Puerto Rico.
This new U.S. Citizen is a Foreign Situs Trust and it was given your name---- and it appears just as your Proper Name appears, in Upper and Lower Cases.
There is no visual or auditory difference between, for example, "Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.", an American, and "Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.", a British Territorial U.S. Citizen.
So, of course, neither you nor your Mother knew that any change had been made.
You were just a baby in your cradle, totally unaware of the larger world, and she had been deliberately duped by what are called "similar names deceits" into signing you over as a Ward to the British Territorial State of State organization that had --- also without public knowledge --- been operating in your State as if it were an American-run State of State organization, just after the Civil War.
By this means, you were "unlawfully converted" from being a living American owed all the guarantees of the Federal Constitutions, to being identified as a British Territorial Foreign Situs Trust---- a Ward of the State--- owned by a foreign State of State organization that shouldn't have even been operating in your State of the Union.
Now, I know this is a lot to take in and you are probably shaking your head in consternation thinking --- I never agreed to any of this.  I'm not a Territorial U.S. Citizen like somebody from Puerto Rico.  This is just nothing but BS!
And so, it is, but it stands until you object to it----and how will you object, if you don't know that anything has happened?
You were maybe a week old when this was done, and your Mother did this "for" you without the benefit of full disclosure, and nothing appeared to change.  So..... you have been bound by a totally unconscionable contract.
That is a contract that you are unaware of.  You don't know it exists, so you can't object to it.
Next, the British Territorial Government that had "latched" onto you-- illegally and immorally--- trafficked their brand-new Foreign Situs Trust into yet another foreign jurisdiction and entered into an estate trust agreement with the Holy Roman Empire, which was still running the Municipal United States Government.
These criminals agreed to split the take, by splitting the "title" to the trust they created "for" you.
This is where all these "titles" come into view--- personal titles like "Mister" and "Misses" and "Doctor" are all foreign, and so are land "titles".
The British Territorial organization operating "as" the State of California (for example) would keep the equitable title to the "Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr." Trust they created out of hot air, and give the legal title to the Municipal United States to administer.
The Municipal United States Government operating as an international city-state in Washington, DC, then created another kind of trust, a Cestui Que Vie Trust doing business under your name in All Capital Letters--- like this: “CALVIN CORDOZAR BROADUS JR", and they began selling all sorts of contracts for "him" to fulfill.
These contracts included child labor contracts and mortgages on his estate and all sorts of other things that he would --- if they were lucky --- never learn about in his lifetime. And the profit from all these peonage and chattel contracts would simply go into a giant Slush Fund that the Pope and the Queen and their vassals would administer "for" little Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. asleep on the hay.
That's what your Public Employees did "for" you before you were a month old, and all without you or your parents knowing anything about it.
There's just one problem for them.  All of this is nothing but fraud and impersonation exercised via long-outlawed contracting processes that can't stand the light of day.
So, when the Great Fraud and its mechanisms were discovered, the criminals had to begin making tracks, which they have.  And now they are fighting among themselves about it.
The members of the Municipal Government --- including Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and others --- are determined to try to brazen it out and somehow continue "business as usual".
The members of the Territorial Government --- including Donald Trump and the entire crime fighting apparatus of the world at large --- realizes that they have to do something to stop this or be accomplices to the crimes against Autochthonous Americans.
And where are you, Autochthonous Americans?
If you have a brain in your heads, you are already making tracks to establish your correct political status as Autochthonous Americans, and you are happily refuting any Registration as a British Territorial U.S. Citizen.
And you are joining and supporting your Autochthonous Nation-State Assembly, which has been called into Session to deal with this mess.  All Black, Brown and Coppertone Autochthonous Americans including Federal United States, Federal States, Federal Counties and Federal Cities Employees are eligible to participate.
