My Time at Sandrock: Pokemon Team (Bachelor Edition)

Bachelorette Version [LINK]

With Pokemon Indigo Disk being released I thought I might make a small Pokemon team for the bachelors and bachelorettes of the game; both will be posted separately and if anyone had other ideas as to what other Pokemon they would have don't hesitate to put them down. Buckle-up, this is a long one.

Arvio would probably have Pokemon that would have his energy, so the team I think he would have is an Scyther, Plusle, and Roserade; the trio especially would put up a performance to draw the attention of tourists over to By the Stairs. Scyther is based on the fact he uses dual weapons when MC spars, of course him and Amirah both would have the Plusle-Minum duo, and with Roserade I can see as his ace for various reasons; roses being a symbol of love while Arvio is a charmer being one of the big reasons.

Burgess is a kind-hearted pacifist and a devoter to the church, so to match his kindness I think his Pokemon team would be Togetic, Sylveon, and Blissey. Togetic's entry is that it only approaches those with a good heart, a top-perfect Pokemon, Sylveon would be his ace and its entry also says that it'll emit an aura that would erase hostility, and Blissey is a compassionate Pokemon that evolves through high friendship; I can definitely see Burgess raising it as a Happiny.

Ernest was a little tough, but I think he would have a Toxtricity (Amped form), Meowstic (Male ver.), and Alolan Persian. Both the Toxtricity and Meowstic, his ace, would match with his twin Luna, while the Alolan Persian is considered the symbol of wealth and it matches with his background.

Fang's team would definitely be Corviknight, Mimikyu, and Audino. Corviknight, his ace, is obviously based on his crow X, Mimikyu I can see Fang adopting from years back and Audino not only acts as his assistant but the Pokemon would also help soothe him when his PTSD would come around.

Justice was pretty easy as well, since he's for... well, justice, I picture him having noble and quite strong Pokemon; his team would Rapidash, Mabosstiff, and Pidgeot. Rapidash would definitely be based on his horse Truth, Mabosstiff, I can see as his ace, would be a Birthday gift from Vivi, and Pidgeot can be his eyes in the sky.

Logan was interesting to say the least, but I think he would have a team of Gogoat, Lucario, and Mightyena. Gogoat, his ace, is based on his companion Rambo, Lucario I see Logan adopting as a Riolu while on the first couple of weeks being on the run, and Mightyena while not only having canon hyena enemies in the game but one of its entries mentions that it obey only certain trainers that possess superior skill, which the Pokemon can see in him.

I admit I don't know much about Miguel, so it was a guessing game based on the wikia- with that I think his Pokemon team would be Luxray, Gallade, and Talonflame. His Pokemon team would match his calm and clever demeanor with Gallade as his ace.

With Owen working at the Blue Moon Saloon he would have at least a couple of Pokemon that would assist him, being Slurpuff, Centiskorch, and Indeedee (Male ver.). Slurpuff is a gift from his father when he first took over the saloon, each of Centiskorch's segmented body has coil-like heat that Owen can use whenever something happens to the oven, and of course he has an Indeedee to help wait tables before Grace came in. He probably won't have an ace since he believes all Pokemon are good Pokemon, but if I do give him one it would be Dusk Lycanroc.

Pablo's team would be Furfrou, Delcatty, and Smeargle. With Furfrou I can see Pablo having it as a guard Pokemon, Pablo's favorite trim would be the Heart trim, Delcatty is considered to have sublime fur which I think Pablo would love in a Pokemon, and Smeargle, his ace, matches with how Pablo is canonically an artist based on Arvio's questline.

Pen, of course, would have muscular and powerful Pokemon to match him in all aspect; so it would be no surprise that his team would have Palafin, Machamp, and Feraligatr. His aces are both Palafin and Machamp and he would be the trainer who would love double-battle.

Qi's team would be quite interesting, let me explain why: his team'll be Magnezone, Charjabug, and Minccino. Magnezone is his ace that he would have since back in Vega 5, Charjabug was a trade from Mint and refuses to evolve it when he finds out about Vikavolt, and Minccino it just happened to stumble upon his research center and saw it cleaning so he decided to keep it as a mini-assistant. Though I also imagine finding a Minior one night through a telescope and saw that it fell close to Sandrock premises and with the assistance of MC he kept it around as a memento.

And last but not least, Unsuur I can see as a Rock-type trainer only; his team would be Gigalith, Naclstack, and Graveler; Gigalith, his rockin' ace, being his gift from Justice when he became a Civil Corps memeber, and throughout his time caught the latter two- and eventually took in a Carbink that took an immediate liking to him and, of course, he named the little Carbink, Wilson.

Finds you very tolerable. Riddle only acknowledges you as the newly assign nurse of NRC and nothing else. Though he is curious of what species you are considering you almost look like a beastman like Leona yet the ears you have arent identified of any creatures he ever heard of. It was after the overblot accident and during he's time in the infirmary where he get to know you more and appreciates your company.

You and Trey are good friends. You two would always bake some sweets and goods for either the Tea party in Heartslabyul or for the patients in the infirmary. During Chapter 2, Trey was amazed when you use heal pulse on him considering healings spells are kinda hard to master so he makes sure that he would return the favor later on.

You can say that Cater kinda has a crush on ya. He loves how cute you are and always posts every moment with ya in Magicam, especielly pictures of you working and using your moves either during P.E. or in the Infirmary (where she would reprimanded him about him posting such things without her permission)

Adeuce are always drawn to trouble, whether intentionally or not, so you always stick by their side and make sure to prepare a bag of needed necessities in case of them being hurt.

"Ah!?"

Ace, Deuce and Grim yelped when a piece of folded up paper smack them behind their heads, which is held by none other than the hearing pokemon. "Uwah!? Why did you do that-?!" Grim quickly shut he's mouth up upon seeing the dark glare that you are giving "Why!?" The trio flinched back "Why!?" You slowly walk towards them "Do I even need to tell you!? I have told you a million time to study for the exam and what did ya do? Nothing! And what else? You made a deal without even thinking first, and its even considered cheating-!!"

Jack watch the whole scenario from the door frame while the unfortunate three souls suffer a scoulding from the Pokemon.

🦁SAVANNACLAW🦁

Leona dislikes you. You didnt just became a pain in the neck by just snooping and trying to solve why the students got hurt but you also heal them like they werent hurt in the first place. After the overblot incident, Leona got acquainted with you and thank you for the help you had done for him. Also, whenever Cheka visits, he would always dump the responsibility onto you as you would instantly care for the kid with no hesitation.

Also finds you as a hindrence into the plans but secratly, Ruggie appreciates you as you would sometimes sense him being stress and tired from all the work he had done so on occasions where you prescription him to rest, you always gave him some treats and even doughnuts for him to enjoy during he's needed break.

Saw you a few times but didnt exactly mind you until the events in Chapter 2. During the fight to prove yourselves to him, Jack was kinda shock at how good you are and how strong some of your moves are like pound during the fight. Soon afterwards he became your friend and great comrade especielly during Chapter 3.

🐚OCTAVINELLE🐚

Azul was very interested at the 'magic' you have and tries to have it to himself when he first saw you used it until you discuss that you are from another world and that the magic you is actually isnt exactly magic at all. None the less, Azul plans on finding one way or another until after he's over blot incident where Azul just apprecietes and treasures your time and caring nature to him, as you would use your special hearing to make sure Azul is mentally stable and move on from he's troubling past.

Very interesting. Jade follows you with he's brother to see what they could find to go against ya until it kinda back fired with both of them being whack in the head by a folded piece of paper for spying and disturbing her. Yet despite all of that, both of you are in good terms and would make small talks in the infirmary.

Floyd just wants to squeeze ya! You are just so cute and cuddly! Especially after he tried to do so in the infirmary, where he ended up (thanks to Jade) and got smacked behind the head for doing so. You always find Floyd abit hard to be with but add some treats and some funny stpries and you both are sold.

🏜SCARABIA🏜

An Audino? Whats that!? Kalim quickly asks you a bunch of questions in astonishment at hearing that you are from a new world and an entirely different from the beastman in Twisted Wonderland. You two are great friends from the start and would trade some treats and fruit during lunch time and I would imagine that during Chapter 4, you tried to help Kalim with he's sudden 'Mood swings' to calm him down and to try to reason with him.

Jamil finds you a hindrance to he's plans especielly your hearing. You can simply tell that he is lying from he's heartbeat and that he is nervous when the Azul, Jade and Floyd. When he threw them out he had kept you, considering your power a great addition to he's own as you became a cute little servant to him alone. After the whole incident, Jamil was kinda shock at how forgiving you are as you can understand that he just wanted to be first for once yet you had to be therapist once more to make sure that he is in great health (with you giving him extra attention to help with it)

👑POMEFIORE👑

You would always go to the dorm for Apples to be used at the infirmary yet Vil would pull you aside and check to see if you had taken care of your hair, skin, and etc. He would be greatful that you prepare exceptional meals during training in Chapter 5 to accommodate for their needs and wants for the final performance.

Rook would instantly stalk you like he would do to any prey one who had caught he's eye. You werent oblivious. You would always whack him and lacture him that what he was doing can be disturbing and distracting yet the Pomeifiore student didnt discourage and kept on doing he's routine.

Sometimes, you see yourself in Epel. Everyone can mostly underestimate you because of your looks and purpose in work, so you sometimes showed them that Audinos are strong and arent weak in battles. You and Epel would always have a nice break of bake goods and teas whenever you two have the time togather.

⚙IGNIHYDE⚙

What is this? A DATING SIM!? Idia was very curious about you, especielly after the meeting in Chapter 2, yet he can be very timid, shy and even stubborn of actually meeting you, especially on check ups. The only way you can get him out or let you in (forcefully or not) was to trick him into thinking that Grim was with her, which he had fallen every time.

You love kida and Orthro is just a sweet little bean. You loved how loyal and cheerful the little bot is, especially to he's brother. Orthro kinda reminds you of a Rotom in a machine so you two kinda discuss about the mention pokemon, much to Orthro glee and excitement.

🐲DIASOMNIA🐲

Malleus can sense you are some type of fea. Though you ard a normal type, as you had explained to him, the dragon fea cant help but kinda doubt what you had said due to what he had somehow felt a fea essence in you but he let it slide. For now. And considering how you dont know him and that you feel he's loneliness, you two are match made in heavan.

Oya? Lilia became intrigued once he had saw you in the entrence ceremony. He may live a long time, longer than Malleus but there some things that he may not know. And you are one of them. You two being parental, you both would discuss and have fun telling stories about the youngs ones from either worlds and their history to one another.

You always brought a pillow for Silver or prepare your Hyper voice for him to wake up. When you heard that Silver always sleeps, you were kinda worry for him until Lilia points out its kinda normal for him. Silver appreciates your effort of helping him with he's sleeping spells as you would prepare coffee or anything that could wake him up...though he kinda hates when you had to use Hyper voice.

See's you as a capable and reliable nurse to help Malleus-Sama, though you have to repeatedly wack him a thousand times to remind him to tune down he's voice whenever, or atleast in the infirmary, to not stress others or make their ears bleed.

☆BONUS!☆

You had used your evolution during Riddle's overblot incident at the dorm.

After the battle, Crowley demand of what you had just done and what had happened to you, where you had explain that you mega evolve.

The Heartslabyul quintet are amazed at the otherworldly power up that you had fone back there.

Asked alot of questions and even sometimes sparred with (Ace, Deuce and Riddle only)

Ruggie and Jack were taken back at the sudden transformation that you just display.

The two were Amazed at how strong you had became after you had mega evolve to defeat Leona.

In the infirmary, You had explain to them about the transformation and it suprise yet intrigued them that you can "evolve" and gain a power up.

Leona even ask if he can have a Mega stone too but you had remind him that he aint a pokemon like her.

The trio, like the other two dorms, are also amazed at the new information that they were introduce you.

Floyd once asked to spare with ya.

Lets just say that he now considers you as a formidable challanger.

Jade and Azul on the other hand asks you about how it works and what it is.

Mouth drop Kalim was really not expexting you you transform while Overblot Jamil had also the same expression yet hide it beneath he's scowl and quickly want to gain the power you had.

After the whole fiasco, the duo were taken back.

I mean, who ever heard of a type of power up that involves bonds between two people.

Yet the two understand (mostly Jamil) that you are from another world and that it is different from theirs.

Many curious questions are asked later on.

👑POMEFIORE👑

Both eyes of Epel and Rook were widen upon the transformation you had.

Overblot Vil took it as a challenge as to see who is stronger and more fairer consider that your appearance had change too.

Once the whole mess was all over, along with the VDC, the Pomeifiore trio were gained in on the lecture of Mega evolution.

Epel mentally wish that it had exists in Twisted Wonderland to show others that he is more than just a pretty face like you.

Rook has stars in he's eyes.

Vil is astonished at the type of power up that he had never seen or heard of before, which is kinda understanding.

⚙IGNIHYDE⚙

You mega evolution was the reason at being in S.T.Y.X. in the first place.

Refused to speak about it or even displaying it, much to the organization's frustration.

After the whole mess and returning back at Ramshackle, you explain once more to the Shroud brothers of what you done during the past Overblot fights.

I swear, you already practice this with the past dorms.

Afterwards, Idia and Orthro understands and agree to keep your hidden power up a secrat to ensure your safety.

Considering how you had help them before.

🐲DIASOMNIA🐲

Malleus seen you in your mega evolution form during the VDC event.

Soon, you had gather the other three students of Diasomnia to discuss and tell them about mega evolution to succumb their curiosity.

Lilia is truly interested at the topic. In all he's years, he have never seen such power up before, along with Malleus.

Malleus was right when you had mentioned that you had became a Fairy type during your mega evolution.

Adding another explanation later.

Silver and Sebek were amazed at this new information and reacted on it very differently.

Sebek somehow sees you as a threat to he's master and tries to make sure that the prince is in safety distance with ya.

Silver on the other hand accepts it and is interested on the ways and how you mega evolve.

What are your thoughts on Luvdisc? And Alomomola too if you feel like it, because let’s admit it, those two should’ve definitely been related.

Luvdisc is... well, a disc. No false advertising there. It's probably one of the simplest Pokemon designs out there, literally just a heart shape with eyes, cheeks, and a bit of a mouth.

While the simplicity is nice to some extent, I do find myself wanting more of out it. I think it's just the lack of anything to break up the body—even just a small fin at the top or the side would've helped it look more organic (seriously, how does this thing swim) and would've given it just enough detail as to not feel so plain.

One thing I do like about Luvdisc is that it has some neat worldbuilding associated with it, such as being used as a gift to loved ones and being considered a good romantic omen if spotted. Outside of this, however, Luvdisc is fairly forgettable.

Alomomola is so obviously similar to Luvdisc (heart shaped, pink, water-type, associated with love and kindness) that I'm pretty convinced it was designed to be Luvdisc's evo before they decided that Gen 5 would only feature previous Pokemon in the post game, thus they decided to break it off into its own 'mon. It's a particularly weird choice to have both be separate, as we now have two lines with the same theme that are both single-stagers for no reason.

Looking at Alomomola on its own though, I do like it a bit more than Luvdisc. It's based off of the mola-mola or ocean sunfish, also known as one of God's silliest creatures:

However, despite being based on such an interesting fish, Alomomola is fairly unremarkable. It could've shared the mola-mola's gigantic size, maybe even having Luvdisc feed on its parasites in some regions if they really didn't want to go with the evo route. Instead, Alomomola is characterized as a loving Pokemon, which is fine but already done to death with Pokemon like Chansey and Audino.

Visually, the additional fins help break up the design a bit and work better than Luvdisc's plainness; mostly because it's clearly a (sun)fish that looks like a heart, rather than literally looking exactly like a heart and nothing else. I like how the mouth shape mimics the fin shape and how the black makes the eyes pop, but otherwise it's fairly standard. Nothing bad, just nothing remarkable either.

Seeing as GameFreak is never going to retcon these guys into one line, I think they could both use a little something. I could easily see Alomomola getting a regional—maybe a dark-type based on a broken heart or something obvious like that. Then maybe Luvdisc could get an evo that goes in a different direction, like it starts getting some cupid-like elements or something. That might help make the two lines more distinct, because if they're not gonna be together, might as well push them further apart.

Tl;dr: Both lines are decently designed and do what they need to, but suffer from being unrelated single-stagers for no reason, something that new forms could potentially fix. Between the two, Alomomola is a bit more thought out, but ultimately both are pleasant enough.

the new precure designs have been officially revealed! do you have any opinions on them?

oh man! exciting news! it's hard to say before we get the clean fullbody renders but my initial thought is that these ones aren't so much my speed. The big picture isnt doing so much for me but there's a lot of individual details I really like.

I think cure Nyammy is coming out on top for me here. I'm really loving the geometry of the skirt and the bows. Based on the merch and the swapped colors of their main bows, it looks like at least informally these cures comes in pairs of two, which is always very fun. I love it when cures are a shared unit.

I feel like although they're not quite as fun to me, wonderful and friendly here have a lot of the same design sensibilities as the delicious party cures, but without the scaling issues that were present there. I also really like the shoes they went with for the both of them. the duotone pink and cream hair looks nice as well she looks like audino

The same re: similar vibes to delicious party but with better scaling can be said about nyammy and lillian's headpieces. there's also a lot of stylistic throughlines from the dokidoki designs with these two, that i think has streamlined, modernized, and improved the vibe they were going for there.

im a bit sad theyre doing an Animals season but not taking any design inspiration from animals because the kirakira designs were SOOO good and it feels like a missed opportunity. but that said im intrigued to see what the transformations will look like and how they look in motion.

I’ll do a redraw of the group photo, but I thought it’d be fun to line them all up by height, even if some aren’t proportioned great to be scaled down *cough Chandlo*. I think I’ll take requests just for main cast Bugsnax stuff for a little while, so please feel free to check in!

Finally, design notes under the cut for all the Grumpuses, because I had a lot of fun and I’m gonna draw a lot more

Wambus: Farmer so nice you draw him twice-- With Wambus I knew I wanted to make him beefy, and while I’m not quite happy with how thick his legs are, I think he turned out nice. I tried a different fur color pattern than I’d tried before, and colored him like a dog. Similarly to some of the other Grumpuses feeling like they’d have more personality added with a tail, I gave him one! He’s got scars here and there from working in the fields all these years.

Shelda: Huge fan of how Shelda turned out, I love how she looks like a wet squirrel and really sticks out from the rest of the Grumpuses in terms of body types, just like in the game. Tried to hide flowers in the gradient on her tail, legs, and arms. Tried to go for an ‘earring’ kind of feel to the ends of her flower crown. Also, unlike all the other grumps, she doesn’t have any eyebrow lines.

Wiggle: Probably the one I had the most fun drawing. I love her crooked teeth and painted nails. The green from her nose just stuck out too much, and it didn’t feel like I could fit it into the patterns on her fur, so I painted her nails instead. Stars in her gradient because she’s my star. She’s meant to look curvy, but those are not boobs PLEASE. Tiny little tail, like a bear’s.

Lizbert: Took a while to figure out how to pose her, but matching her up with Eggabell would be cute, so. Covered in heroic scars from grand adventures. I tried to work patterns into her gradient that looked like a treasure map’s dashed lines and x’s, but it ended up not looking all that great. Similarly to Wambus, I gave her fur a pattern like a dog’s. Also, chipped tooth from kissing eggs too hard.

Snorpy: I’d say he was the hardest for me to get a grasp on designing. Had NO idea where I wanted to go with him, but I knew I didn’t want him to be particularly fluffy. After I was done with his body, he felt like he was missing something, so I gave him his tail, and made it rounded like his hair. My idea is that it’s prehensile and it frees up his hands for more chart writing. Didn’t have any good ideas for cute patterns to put on him to be honest, but I was very happy when I got the idea for giving him ‘stubble’.

Triffany: One of my favorite designs. She reminds me of a stegosaurus or something. Got pawprints in her gradient, to symbolize her adventures, or perhaps ancient Grumpus cave paintings? Gave her freckles too, to make the pawprints not stand out quite as much at a first glance. The lighter markings on the bottom of her hands weren’t planned, but I thought her hands looked a bit plain even with her paw pads, and I didn’t want to put another dark gradient there and recycle ideas I’d done before. Snuck in more of her nose color with the claw slits(?) on her feet. I don’t know if it’s noticeable, but I put gray streaks in her hair.

Filbo: He kickstarted this blame him. He’s a teensy bit rough, but he’s still my absolute favorite I drew. He’s clumsy, so he gets scars from all of his many spills, and lots of personalized bandaids from Eggabell. I couldn’t not give him big obnoxious freckles.

Eggabell: I tried to make her less pink but I just kept thinking about how she looked like Chansey or Audino and I leaned into it. She was pretty hard for me too, since I wasn’t sure just how hard into the whole egg shape I wanted to lean. Of course, she gets egg shaped spots.

Chandlo: LOVED drawing Chandlo. His arms were a challenge, but they look like they’ve got the power to dunk and hold his boyfriend. Gave him a lighter stomach to emphasize how ripped he is. His hair coming out of his hat wasn’t there at first, but he needed just a bit more something. He’s got simple stripes, because I started thinking of sports and then I thought of Tony the Tiger...

Beffica: I liked doing the details on her face the most. It was here that I decided to do more than just a gradient like I did on Filbo. Stuck hearts on her, when I draw her again I’ll definitely give her more. I’ll also make her front teeth shorter, they almost look like they’re a similar length to Chandlo’s.

Snorpy: Another problem child with their design. I knew I wanted their arms to be longer than their body/legs, and that was easy enough, but when it came to patterns I was stumped. The normal rounded tail that I gave Snorpy didn’t look quite right, and didn’t feel very ‘Floofty’. The tradeoff is now it doesn’t look too convenient if their tail was prehensile. I like what I did with their hair, it wasn’t intentional, but it almost looks like they have a sidecut. Like one part of their head ‘shaved’.

Cromdo: I meant for his ‘hair’ to just be hair, but when I properly attached it to his head like hair would be, it looked strange. And I really liked how the hair looked, so I erased where I was attaching it to his head and realized it looked a lot like an axolotl’s gills. So I leaned into it. Does Cromdo have gills? Probably not, but they’re pretty neat. Like with Wiggle, I was having trouble sneaking more of the blue from his nose into his design, but I don’t feel like Cromdo’s the type to paint his nails, and I didn’t give him paw pads, so I had to improvise. Blue on his hair and the little diamonds on his leg. Maybe he was a gambler. Gramble: FRECKLY STRAWBERRY I didn’t continue the trend of coloring their mouths like their nose/pawpads since not every Grumpus had their mouth open, but I think Snorpy, Floofty, Cromdo, Wambus and Wiggle have similar mouth coloring. Now that I look at it, he’s the only one I gave a darker colored stomach to, even though it’s not super noticeable under his sweater.

Random Video Game Themed Question Prompts - Part 2

Part 2 of this little video game prompt thing! I thought this one would be easier because it's actually all Pokemon themed! But they asked a lot of questions I just don't know cause I haven't played all the games lol. But regardless, this was very fun! And I'm having a bit of Poke Mania after beating Platinum!

1 - Favorite Pokemon

My favorite Pokemon for ages now is Charizard. I know it's a basic pick but think about for a bit and it makes total sense. Dragon. Fire. Salamander theme. Green elements. It's kind of tailor made for me. Not to mention Firered was my first game, and Charmander my first Pokemon! Also, I love him in Smash Bros. ALSO YEAH I LIKE POPULAR THINGS OKAY THAT'S WHY THEY'RE POPULAR-

2 - Favorite Game

Personally I am still really biased to Pokemon Firered. It's my first, so I have a lot of really good memories with it. I love the GBA, I love the sprites and music. And it's just a deeply important game to me. Though I do think SoulSilver is better in pretty much every way, I just have too much love for Firered. But if we're not counting spinoffs currently Emerald is my favorite!

3 - Favorite Spinoff

This one is easy, it's Pokemon Snap. Both games are seriously some of my favorite video games of all time. And it's the closest we'll ever get to a Pokemon Shmup/On-Rails Shooter. I also just love taking pictures in video games and I love seeing Pokemon in their natural environments, so it's pretty much tailor made for me. A close runner up would be Pokken but the only reason it's not number 1 is cause 3D Fighting Games are harder than 2D ones lol.

4 - Favorite Legendary

It's Mewtwo, let's not beat around the bush on this one, it's Mewtwo. He's one of my favorite characters ever, one of my favorite Smash Bros. characters, the star of one of my favorite movies, he's bad ass. I just really love Mewtwo. But some of my other favorites are Lugia, Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza, and Kyreum!

5 - Favorite Mega

I'm sorry all these answers are so predictable It's the Mega Charizards. With a preference for X, but they both RULE. I actually love a LOT of Mega Evolutions though. Some of my other favorites are Gengar, Aerodactyle, Gardevoir, Mawille, Aagron, Banette, Garchomp, Abomasnow, Steelix, Lopunny, and Audino!

As for Gigantimax... Eeeeeh I think these are kinda stupid looking for the most part, apologies. Alcremie kinda clears though in my opinion. Coalossal, Appletun, Durraludon, the Kanto starters are ok though.

6 - Favorite Regional Variant

Honestly, really looking at it. I'm not sure which is my definitive favorite but DAMN Galarian Linoone is just PERFECT. It's better than actual Linoone imo and I think I like it more than Obstagoon too honestly. I also like Alolan Golem, Galarian Corsola, Alolan Muk, Hisuian Zoroark and Hisuin Goodra. This is still one of the best concepts introduced into Pokemon, btw.

7 - Favorite Starter

It's Charmander. Sorry guys it's just the coolest and evolves into my favorite starter. But since that's such a predictable answer at this point I'll do you one better and list my favorite Starter from each region (I pick my favorites based on their final forms lol): Charmander, Totodile, Mudkip, Turtwig, Snivy?, Fennekin, Popplio, Grookey, Sprigatito.

Also I think Kanto, Jhoto, and Kalos have the strongest set of final stage starter Pokemon! Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr in particular are 3 of my all time favorites.

8 - Favorite Region

In terms of Pokedex? It's between Kanto, Jhoto, Unova, and maybe Kalos? In terms of games? Kanto, Jhoto, Hoenn? In terms of where I'd want to live? While I haven't played them all it's between Kanto and Hoenn I think.

9 - Favorite Pseudo Legendary

NOW THIS IS A TOUGH ONE! Lately the Pseudo Legendaries have genuinely become some of my favorite Pokemon from each region. Of course, right? They're all dragons lol. Goodra is probably the winner because I love slime and dragons. But some REALLY close runner ups are Tyranitar, Garchomp, and Dragapult.

While some are certainly stronger in terms of design and concept than others, I like them all though. The only one I'm eh on is Baxcalibur and even then I see the idea and I think some small design tweaks would really fix it for me.

Also random side note, but if they removed all the Pokemon currently in Smash and had to replace all of them with new ones. While I'd cry over Charizard and Mewtwo leaving... Just replace them all with all the Pseudo Legendaries. In fact, the Pseudo Legendary from each region would be a shoe in for each smash game if I was in charge!

10 - Favorite Mythrical

Darkrai. Next question.

Okay but seriously, I ADORE Darkrai. For a lot of similar reasons to Mewtwo. Bad ass design, cool concept, and their movie is one of my favorites. You guys know I love edgy badboys with hearts of gold and tragic backstories. Darkrai's movie is seriously one of my favorites and one of the only ones I've rewatched.

For runner ups? I didn't realize Genesect is Mythical? I LOVE Genesect. Also had a great movie. Also Meloetta is hot dude

11 - Favorite Rival

I've only played the first 4 games but personally I think I have to give it up to Blue. I think he's a lot cooler and more interesting than people remember. I feel like he gets remembered as a mean guy, but actually I feel like he's playfully a rival with you. Because he actually helps you a LOT during the game. But then as the game goes you progressively see him get more and more obsessed with power. And then finding out he's already the champion and having to tear him down is REALLY cool. I think it's one of the best parts of RBY.

Personally I haven't been super thrilled with the friendly rivals but I did think Wally was a neat idea where he starts out as a sick kid but genuinely gets pretty good. But it is messed up that you have to tear him down too lol. Just looking at the designs I like Bianca, N, Hubert, Shauna (though I remember her being annoying), Gladion, Marnie, and dude Klara is so fucking hot dude

12 - Favorite Professor

From the games I've played, Oak has kind of been the most interesting one no contest. But I do LOVE the designs of Juniper, Sonia, and Sada cause they're so hot dude

Although I kind of get the vibe that Kukui is gonna be my favorite by the time I get there.

13 - Favorite Elite 4 / Gym Leader / Champion

TOUGH QUESTION! I don't want this spoiled so I'm gonna only look at the ones I've beaten. Starting with Elite 4: It's probably Lance. He's really cool. Though Karen is absolutely up there. And I also like Lorelei, Phoebe, Drake, and Bertha. Also seeing Koga get upgraded between 2 games was cool.

Gym Leader: It's probably between Claire and Flannery? Dragon types obviously but also slightly older mean girls/tomboys. You know how it is. Erika is cute, Janine being Koga's daughter is cool, Giovanni was a cool concept, Whitney, Jasmine, Morty maybe, Roxanne, Norman is a great concept, Gardenia, Crasher Wake, Candice. Volkner has a cool design.

Champion: Again, probably Blue. I think it's the best built up for sure. And while seeing Lance get upgraded was cool, it's just Lance no offense. Steven could've been an ALL TIMER but Emerald kinda dropped the ball with that sadly. So, if not Blue. It's Cynthia. I'm sorry for being so thirsty on this post but she's SO hot and so cool and has such good taste in Pokemon.

14 - Favorite Villain Team

I think Team Rocket is neat but they're a little basic. But they're done pretty good in the first game and I think it's cool that they're a little more grounded than the rest. And Galactic is pretty crazy but I feel like the whole team isn't that cool as much as they're like, insane.

I probably have to go between Magma and Aqua. And while Aqua are pirates so objectively they're cooler. I think Magma's grunt designs are my personal favorite grunts so far. I genuinely want their evil hoodies with horns on them. And they love Groudon whose the coolest of the trio from Hoenn.

15 - Favorite Character

It's between Mewtwo and Darkrai. Again, they're both deeply important characters to me and both star in some of my favorite movies. But ultimately I do have to give it up to Mewtwo for being an edgy badboy made in a lab, his movie is also just really really good and I love him in Smash Bros and the Birth of Mewtwo and he's just so cool. I love Mewtwo. Darkrai runner-up

16 - Favorite Route/Town/City

I hate to say it but I don't really remember a lot of them off the top of my head. ATM I'm obsessed with Route 209's night theme from Platinum though lol. Going soley off of memory I would probably want to live in a place a little busy but not TOO crazy crowded. Maybe I'd like something like a beach town in Hoenn? Sunnyshore in Sinnoh was also a neat idea.

17 - Favorite Soundtrack

Ooof, tough question. I am certainly the most nostalgic for Firered personally. But I think from my playthroughs so far, a lot of Platinum songs really stuck out and stuck with me. 209, vs Galactic, the Celestic town guitar strumming theme lol. I also feel like I'm gonna REALLY like Black/White's ost cause from what little I played a lot of those songs stuck out to me. But yeah, I might have to give it up to FireRed personally. With my favorite song from it being Vs Champion Rival.

18 - Least Favorite Pokemon

SO... I hate to be a hater. But lately there have been some serious stinkers. However, I have 3 main "least favorite Pokemon". Number 1! Intelleon. Stupid design. Stupid motif. Never seen fanart that made it into a hot girl. How does it go from emo to 007? Huh? Wha? Stupid.

NUMBER 2! Calyrex. Stupid design. Looks stupid on the horses. Looks stupid off the horses. Drags down the cool horse designs. It's the best you could do for a KING pokemon? Seriously? I hate it.

NUMBER 3!! The worst of the worst: Quaquaval. No joke the only Pokemon to dethrone Intelleon to me. I HATE this Pokemon. I get the theme. I see the vision. But it's SO stupid looking. Again I don't want to be a hater, I know people like it. But it's design STINKS dude. I just hate it. Idk.

19 - Favorite Battle

My favorite battle COULD'VE been when you team up with Rayquaza to fight Groudon and Kyogre. But sadly that's only in my fanfic.

There's some really good ones. I love teaming up with Steven to fight the Magma admins. I liked fighting Giratina a lot, I thought that was cool and a nice surprise. I liked having Wally come back suddenly and be super strong at the end of victory road. But ultimately, again, I think I have to give it up to the RB Champion Blue fight. I know I keep saying it but it's so good and so well built up in my opinion. And unlike the friendly rivals, while I think Blue is friendlier than people believe. Watching him become more power hungry makes it feel good and like you have to cut him down when he starts getting out of line. Idk.

As for the Anime? I really like when Mewtwo fights Genesect and only beats him by giving him the overview effect lol. There's a lot of really good ones in the anime if I sat down and thought about it though.

20 - Favorite Type

It's Dragon Type, hands down. Dragons are cool, I love a lot of dragon types, and I LOVE the idea that ANYTHING can be a dragon, even a tree. It matches my love and philosophy of dragons a lot.

Outside of the obvious dragon pick. I like a lot of Fire types, Electric is one of my favorite powers but I'm not super married to a lot of Electric types, I'm always shocked by how many Water types I'm OBSESSED with considering I'm not crazy about Water powers. Ground, Poison, Dark, Bug, there's a lot of good types lol.

21 - Favorite Move

This is really tough. I love a lot of the big HM moves that make my runs super easy. Fly, Surf, Waterfall, ect ect. I love stuff like the elemental punches conceptually. I also like a lot of the dragon moves like Dragon Claw / Draco Meteor conceptually. But I think my all timer is Blast Burn! Again... Charizard lol. I had it on my Charizard in FireRed as a kid.

22 - Favorite Ability

I'm gonna be real with you... I don't know about any of those dang "abilities". But I do always like ones that up the type of the Pokemon. And I'm sure there's some really unique ones if I ever felt like reading through them all. Maybe I'll come back and update this one later. For now, let's go with Dragon's Maw cause it's a dragon theme.

23 - Favorite Item

The only items I really focus on are the held items. I really like, similar to abilities, ones that make certain type moves stronger. I use those a LOT during my playthroughs. I also pretty consistently get Quick Claw and make use of that, I think conceptually that and Dragon Claw are cool. I think King's rock conceptually is cool. As for Pokeballs I thin Ultraball looks cool, Net Ball, Heavy Ball, Dusk Ball... I never use them but they look cool lol. For battle items... uuuuuuh... Max Revive... idk.

24 - Favorite Z-Move / Max Move

I haven't gotten to Sun/Moon yet so idk what these even look like. I watched them all before but fuck me if I can remember them lmao. Just from skimming through: Splintered Stormshards, Pulverizing Pancake, Genesis Supernova, Bloom Doom (reminds me of The End FF8), Savage Spinout, Neverending Nightmare, Devastating Drake, Corkscrew Crash, Black Hole Eclipse, Tectonic Rage are all cool...

I actually think Tectonic Rage might be the best cause I was NOT expecting that shit lmao. Maybe that and Black Hole Eclipse!

25 - Favorite Shiny

Another good question! Off the top of my head I'd probably have to give it up to Charizard, cause edgy black Charizard is just SOOOO bad ass, but I can take a look through the Shiny Dex real quick and pick some other favorites: Nidoking, Golbat, Venomoth, Muk, Kingler, Weezing, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Mew, Yanma, Umbreon, Shuckle, Heracross, Tyranitar, Sceptile, Swampert, Gardevoir, Altaria, Relicanth, Metagross, Rayquaza, Lopunny, Bronzong, Garchomp, Giratina, Gigalith, Crustle, Haxorus, Druddigon, Braviary, Mega Gengar, Tyrantrum, Salazzle, Pyukumuku, Naganandel, Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Zoroark, Appletun, Veluza, Sandy Shocks, Iron Thorns, Hydrapple

That's a lot and I still think I missed some lol. But some of these I'd never seen before and actually gasped when I realized how good their shinies are. Like Haxorus, Salazzle, and Appletun whose shiny I now PREFER over the regular one lol

He's been helping us locate those in need." He doesn't know what to think of Strange. He's bizarre, and a bit of a dick. A few of the fae students can feel Ashe reaching out with her powers, but keep to themselves out lf nervousness. Dr. Mccoy eyes the students that snicker at Willow, and lets out a low growl akin to an animal. They immediately return to their tasks, and scurry off when Kumiko growls. "Well, Charles had this school in mind for decades. And for years, this academy was private, with only a select few knowing about it. We decided to open to the public after Donovan and his friend Silver enrolled here for college. Both Charles and a few of our staff believe that was the best option if we were to include everyone." He leads them up the stairs to the next floor and towards Professor Xavier's office. "This school is separated into four wings. The north wing teaches children from preschool to elementary. The east wing teaches middle school level students, the west teaches high school level, and the south teaches college level. For little Willow, she'll be taught the basics: math, science, literature, art and the basics of caring for Pokemon. In order for these children to be, well children, they also have an hour of recess to relax and play with their Pokemon, if they have them." They reach Xavier's office, and Dr. Mccoy opens the door for them. Inside was Xavier and Donovan, who was reading something in a folder as Xavier greets the group. "Ah, you've arrived! I trust you're all well? Thank you Hank. I'll take it from here, if tou need to teach a class."

The situation with the snickering children taken care of, Ashe found it hard to believe that the man she had met at Donovan's station of all places had been reaching out to, well, protect her own kind. For a moment she thought he wasn't such a bad person after all, but one memory of his smug look had a sour look on her features of wanting to punch him in the jugular. Lucky mimicked this with a 'stink face' that most cats might make.

Tuning in to what Hank had to say, the family followed slowly so they could get a good look at each hall. The hall that Willow would be studying in had Ashe glancing back at her daughter who noticed some children watching her that resembled orcs, elves, giants, humans... and even hybrids. She blinks and gives a small wave, some of the more enthusiastic grinning and waving back while some of the more shy hiding. Willow didn't feel the least bit overwhelmed among them, although she could tell some were different -- and not to mention the pokemon! Some species she had never seen before except in her mother's books that she could barely read. A few caretaking pokemon such as Audino, Blissey, Indeedee, and the like were among them as well with the teachers.

Following after Hank, Kumiko purred softly to Willow to settle her as they headed up to the Professor's office, and upon arrival, Lucky strode past them all to greet Donovan with a ribbon around his hand, his emotions displaying a greeting but also sharing his uncertainties about some of the older kids around Willow. That being said, Leon and Ashe greeted their friend once he stood up with a hug or a handshake warmly while Kumiko held Willow to her still, her tail swishing behind her once the door shut, the Garchomp giving McCoy a nod of her head in thanks on behalf of her trainer. With that said, Ashe had Kumiko set Willow down and returned her to her pokeball while Willow came to sit in Donovan's lap, Bahamut and Lucky hanging back a bit so their trainers could talk.

"Outside an incident with some older children that was quickly taken care of, all seemed well." Leon admitted, "I have a feeling she'll do well here." He turns his attention to Ashe. "Love?" Ashe had her reservations but nodded. "The one part that bothers me is she doesn't have a partner pokemon. I... kind of wanted to let her decide on her own. My family... and a certain someone..." She eyed Donovan then. "... were very adamant about certain types of pokemon, but honestly Willow usually is... well, like this." The girl was holding her Gengar plush tightly, seemingly off in her own little world, looking around, fascinated by all the fancy things the Professor had.

"I know it's tradition that first years at age ten get their partner chosen and they spend most of their earlier years learning about pokemon and what not. That's how my schooling experience went, anyway..." Ashe pauses. "... but what's your policy here? I do have a pokemon that can accompany her to and from school -- plus my Garchomp is like her a mother to her as well." She would never expect that from a Garchomp with how fierce they were, but Kumiko's gentle temperament laid it out plain for her to see that the Garchomp cared for Willow as her own.

"Otherwise... I agree with my husband and Donovan. I think she'll do well enough. However, my worry extends to older kids and the fact she doesn't like to go anywhere without that Gengar plush of hers." She knew how mean kids could be about safety items. "Can you guarantee they won't bully her for it, Professor, if I let her bring it to school? It's the one thing she keeps close besides that dagger you saw."

Most Pokémon here would be ineligible being a daycare. Eggs being forfeit to us is uncommon, and even then local shelter gets them or the hatched thing after a bit. Lucky for you you’re asking in the holidays, local place is full.

There’s a young audino. It’ll grow up, be able to help hold and reach stuff, be able to sense distress if your patient lets it touch her. Beyond basic empathy. Usually it’s in the incubator room, might need to take a dud egg to get it comfortable elsewhere easier, but it’s a nice thing. Think it had an indeedee father, so maybe instincts will seep over? Too early to tell really.

Either way, hope your patient can find something to help her. Pokémon can really help with this kinda thing.

You know what. You're right. You're so very right, actually.

POV: You work as a nurse with your Audino partner at a retirement facility that's famous for still allowing the residents to have Pokemon battles. Lots of retired trainers live out their twilight years here! You're not really often needed- most everyone who lives here tends to be rather healthy, but better safe than sorry. One day, you hear about a new resident moving in- someone famous. He was the longest serving Subway Boss, only retiring for good after his longtime friend, gym leader Elesa, finally passed away a few months ago.

He comes accompanied by Pokemon. This is no surprise. Most are quite old by now, but still love a good battle now and again. Two of his Pokemon are still quite young, however- in fact, you think the odd white and yellow Zorua that often sits in his lap was probably only born a few months ago. The other is probably older, and at first you're intimidated by this massive Zoroark, but you quickly find out that he's quite gentle- even if he is also extremely powerful, based on the few times you see him battle.

The man calls them 'Ingo' and 'Elesa', and you think it's sweet that he named them after those who have already parted. They both help look after him, not that he needs the help- he's very healthy and spirited! You wouldn't think he's already ninety years old. You like talking to him- you're more of a contest person, but he still has some good advice to help make your Mawile really shine.

But all good things must end at some point, and he passes not long after his 100th birthday. You're a little sad, but it's also wonderful that he lived so long! You expect that either his cousin or his niece will come to collect what few Pokemon he has left- really only the Zoroark and the Zorua, plus a Chandelure at this point- but they just seem to vanish. You don't see another Zorua- white and red like the looming Zoroark- join them, as the four of them disappear into the night.

(Emmet is verrry happy to go on this new adventure. Who knows where these new tracks will lead them?)

Pokémon the Caedes would have and why because Bored in Class

MARY [their mom] (Not really a trainer, just thinks Pokémon are Neat)

- Audino [It's a very sweet looking Pokémon and its also often associate with medicine, something she wanted to pursue before she decided to settle down with Lucio. She'd call it Vanilla or something and it'd be her 4th spoiled baby (see 3rd spoiled baby below).

- Larvitar [It eats dirt and Mary is a farmer, so opening up the extra space is a big help for her ! She treats it like a little guy and loves carrying it around despite the fact it weighs her own bodyweight.]

LUCIO [their dad] (Rock type)

- His team is entirely utilitarian, since Lucio constantly is travelling and battling and whatnot, but he does have some affection for the little guys. Like everything else in this man's life however, he is very very bad at showing love and often comes across as cold because of it.

- Rhyhorn [It's big, its sturdy and, much like Lucio himself, its very grumpy and old. Probably his starter to be honest.]

- Onix [No funny business type of guy. I just think it fits with his permanent scowl and ever so disturbing stare.]

- Graveler [see above]

- Aggron [All work no play Pokémon. Probably main damage source in the team]

ARCHER (Psychic type)

- Ralts [Eventually grows into Gallade, but his dad only got him one because Archer had a bowl cut and thought it was funny. Also just kind of a good starter in general. Helped Archer through a lot of weird times in his life :]]

- Rotom [Mostly a convenience thing but also connects to another character in his story. It plays inconvenient sound effects. Constantly]

- Magnemite -> Magneton [Was bonded to his brother's Beldum, and wouldn't let go even if you threw it far away. Eventually got really attached and just never let go. Kind of an exception in his team since he doesn't really battle with it.]

- Espeon [Evolved from an eevee he stole rescued from some bandits. Acts as his third eye and partner in crime, and is the only thing that Archer considers to be as smart if not more smart than himself. Loves this thang to death, would absolutely kill for it. And he has.]

JONAH (Steel/Electric type)

- Lilipup -> Stoutland [Not really for battle, this is more of a service dog. Has been with Jonah since forever, and he loves it to death.]

- Mareep -> Flaaffy [Silly wee lad, technically his starter since it was given to him by his mom...until]

- Beldum -> Metagross [Listen man if you show this guy a cool ass robot you BET YOUR ASS he's gonna use it as his main Pokémon. Bonded to his brother's magnemite, and a real powerhouse of a creature. It can probably level a building if it wanted to but its still very gentle, which is probably why Jonah loves it so much.]

V V V Turns into V V V

M3PH1ST0 (Steel/Electric still, but more aggressive)

- Ampharos [After everything that goes down in act 5, Ampharos evolves after a really tough battle, and now it is choosing violence. No more mr nice floof.]

- Metagross [Still the same guy, but now it is FIERCELY protective of Mephisto and refuses to leave its side or go into a poké ball. Everyone in Mephisto's team got traumatized along with them <3]

- Magnezone [Stole its brother's magnemite after their last battle, and brought it to its full potential... totally not because the Metagross would've cried if its buddy wasn't coming along for the ride.]

- Rotom [Stole this mf too <3 no leaving anybody behind ever again]

- Flygon [Not really theirs, just holding onto it until... a certain someone comes back for it. Still very nice to it because its a big ol' lil guy.]

Valentines day special

This is short. Only around 400 words. And I'm bad at romance writing. So this probably isn't great. But I still enjoyed writing it

In the woods between Striaton City and Nacrene City, two 13 year olds and their Pokémon were just waking up from camping. Two close friends. Mari and Hero. However, their Pokémon had a plan. Dolliv gives the mons some olive oil, then Audino, Tandemaus, Milcery, Flittle, Eevee, and Pawmi ran off, while Dolliv and Mewo the Purrloin were tasked with distracting their trainers.

"Good Morning Hero!" Mari said. Before she could notice anything odd, Mewo started being very playful.

"Aww. Good morning to you to!" Mari said.

Meanwhile, Flittle gathered Berries, which were crushed up as Milcery made a cream. Pawmi used it electricity to start a fire and took at pot it stole from the camp. Audino used Life Dew, and put water in the pot. Pawmi then put some pasta in the pot. Meanwhile, Milcery and Flittle began to make a cake. Pawmi would provide the heat to bake it. Tandemaus sliced some trees with their Razor ears, making hearts and other patterns. Eevee used Swift to stick the stars to the trees, making lights.

As the Pokémon were setting this all up, Mewo and Dolliv kept the trainers busy, practically demanding special training. Night fell.

"We should probably head back to camp. I wanna check on my other Pokémon." Hero said. However, Dolliv and Mewo dragged them in another direction.

Mari gasped when she reached the destination. All the Pokémon stood there. There were lights, and food, and a makeshift table.

"Did you do this for us?" Mari asked. Mewo nodded. Hero and Mari took a seat, while Dolliv played waitress.

"It's cute. What they did." Hero said. Mari looked away. Dolliv brought out the pasta.

"Mari? Is something wrong?" Hero asked.

"You've been my friend for a long time, but… I don't want you to be my friend anymore." She said. Hero looked horrified and started to cry.

"W-WHAT?! WHAT DID I DO? I'M SORRY I-"

Mari put a finger to his lips.

"I don't want you to be my friend. I want you to be my boyfriend!" She said with a smirk. She did feel a little bad for making him cry though.

Hero's cheek flushed red.

"What?! I mean, I don't dislike the idea. I've loved you for awhile but this is sudden! What my parents think!? YOUR parents think?!" Hero said.

"That doesn't matter. But I love you. And I think you'll be a great boyfriend." She said.

Hero smiled. No words needed to be spoken. They finished the pasta. Dolliv brought out a cake. It had white and red icing, in the shape of a heart.

Mari and Hero talked and laughed all night, enjoying each other's company. Eventually, they fell asleep, and the Pokémon carried them back to camp. No longer were Hero and Mari just close friends, they were a couple. A match made in heaven

Streams, Halloween 2023 Special: "Meet Orion the Dusknoir Man"

[Stream Beginning Soon…]

Lady Zee’s seasonal lobby splash screen features a noivern wrapped up in bandages like a mummy, and a sensu style oricorio draped in cloth like a ghost on the left and right sides of the text. At the top, a sliggoo is depicted wearing a pumpkin costume.

When the countdown ends and the lobby screen swipes away, Lady Zee appears. She’s dressed in a stylish noivern costume that shows off her toned midriff and shoulders. A noivern-eared headband sits atop her pink hair that’s been pulled mostly back over her shoulder.

She’s seated on a plush couch behind a coffee table laden with assorted Halloween treats and a punch bowl. Smoke swishes around her ankles and across the floor. Beside her is a man with silver hair dressed in ghostly folds of cloth. There’s a pink pokemon resting on his lap, a hybrid between an absol and an audino named Strawberry, it seems.

The chat is immediately exploding with sparkling oricorio emotes, excited greetings, and warnings and expressions of terror at the sight of the person she’s sitting with. Variations of “She’s really doing it!” splatter across the conversations.

Zee does not outwardly acknowledge this unusual combination of energies. She’s donned her perfect smile, and she sweeps her right hand out to the side. Instead of her signature gold cape, she flashes the teal underside of her noivern wing.

“HeLLO my lovely skiddo kiddos! You’re here with me, Lady Zee! Happy Halloween my darlings! Today we have a very, VERY special guest, but before we get into the good stuff, I have something to share!”

She stands up, and the camera moves back to keep her fully in frame. In a fluid, rhythmic motion, she swings her hips and sweeps her hand toward the ceiling, moving in just the right way that her hair and wing cape catch the light and sparkle.

“How do you like my costume? It’s adorable, right? And it’s SO comfy. I bet you’d never guess it’s actually athletic wear. Yes, that’s exactly right, my darlings! My fitness in fashion line VitaminZ has just stocked limited time noivern, zubat, and swoobat athletic attire. Can’t decide if you want to splurge on a cute and cozy costume for one holiday, OR get that new workout set you’ve been needing? You don’t have to choose anymore! She poses again, balancing on tip toe and bending one knee while she makes a heart with her hands.

She twirls, letting her pink hair swoosh playfully over her shoulder just before she sits back down and crosses her legs at the knees.

“Now, I’m sure a lot of you know…”

She pauses dramatically to grin at him.

“Orion? Why don’t you introduce yourself?”

Orion cocks his head to the side ever so slightly, pupils dilating then contracting again as his gaze trains on her during her sponsorship speech. If one is observant enough, they'll notice he's watching her not unlike a predator does. Not unlike something about to pounce.

And yet he stays seated on the couch. Even as his fingers dig into a spot hidden by the table.

He blinks as she directs the attention back to him, grinning and causing the pressure in the room to dissipate very suddenly.

He waves before going to fill his cup with some punch before introducing himself.

"Hello, hello! As Zee has already started, my name is Orion, and I am a fellow streamer as well! You can find me under the Horror tab on Twitch where I stream body horror."

The chat erupts at that as a few of his own fans decide to explain what exactly he does, which as expected gets them banned. He laughs at that.

"Settle, settle. I'm the guest on her stream, remember."

He then takes a sip and directs his attention to Zee.

"Now, you wanted to ask me some questions?”

Zee claps her hands once, her red fingered gloves muffling what would have been a sharp sound.

“I can see we have some BIG fans of Orion’s work in the chat! Do play nice, my darlings,” She chirps, strangely cheerful in relation to who she’s sitting beside and the comments that keep arising in the chat.

She turns to Orion, meeting his eyes. Her own golden brown eyes are hollow. Vacant of feeling. They merely sparkle just the right way to suit her bleached smile like a pretty doll in a box.

“So Orion, you sweet thing, you told me you’re part dusknoir. That is *incredible*. And very unheard of! How did that occur? Were you born that way?”

"Well, actually, that's quite a long story in itself!” He replies good naturedly, “The short of it, however, is that I was dying, and one of my dear friends had to splice me with a Dusknoir to keep me alive! How odd is that?"

He laughs some, as if he himself can’t even believe that happened.

“Oh! Well, that’s a few things to unpack,” Zee exclaims, her smile ever bright and unfaltering, “Let’s start with… Hm, how does one splice a person with a pokemon? And why a dusknoir?”

She holds her index fingers up by the sides of her head, beside her noivern ear headband.

“Why not a purrloin? You could have been a cute purple kitty boy.” Her practiced smile widens, and she giggles prettily.

She tilts her head just the right way to look cutest from the camera’s angle, and she does her best impression of a purrloin’s purr.

Orion looks thoughtful for a moment, as if this is something new for him to consider. He then nods, seeming to agree with her.

"Why, I would make an amazing catboy~"

He grins, curling all six of his hands in front of himself in an imitation of cat paws.

"Nya~"

He laughs, shaking his head before dropping his hands.

"Ah, alas it wasn't meant to be. As for how to splice someone with a pokemon...well, I can't be giving away all the juicy secrets in just one stream, now can I?

"As for why Dusknoir...well, I already had my shroud of Duskull, so why shouldn't I pick something to match?"

There’s a pause as he seems to carefully consider Zee.

"What would you pick, if you really had to? Remember! Hypothetically. Would it be a Noivern?"

He teases her, gesturing to her costume. His lap pokemon seems to stiffen, tensing its muscles as if bracing for something and perking its ears toward Orion. Something in that question seems to have it on edge.

“Ohhh, so you already had the duskull? I see, you were keeping with a theme!”

Her smile never wavers, but she does fail to restrain the slight widening of her eyes as all six, SIX, of his hands move forward to pose. That is four more hands than she’d been expecting!

“Which pokemon would I splice myself with?” She asks, sliding easily back into that flawless hostess smile. She’s quiet for a moment as she seems to think.

Fans of Orion recognize the loaded question and helpfully share the names of assorted pokemon that might be interesting to be spliced with in chat. Zee does not seem to notice, or does a good pretending not to.

“Noivern *is* wonderful, but maybe I would want to be something else for some variety. Mismagius is SO pretty. And dangerous.” She tosses her hair and winks at the stream. “Like me, right Skiddos?”

Her followers seem to adore this, walling the chat for a few long moments with comments of agreement and sparkling oricorio emotes.

“Buuut I don’t see myself wanting to be anything but myself! It’s all about that self love! And!” She gestures to Orion’s plethora of hands. “This. You didn’t tell me you have six hands! Six, no? Are you hiding more under there?” She leans to the side as if she might somehow see up Orion’s shirt from their positions on the couch.

“What’s this about?” She tilts her head, watching not his hands but his eyes. Her eyebrows lift just a little and she slightly parts her lips to model an eagerly curious expression.

He nods in agreement. "Self love is important, and there's no one I'd rather be than me after all."

He laughs at the gesturing to his hands.

"No, no I'm not hiding extra hands. This, however, is the result of a forced mega evolution. Yes, Dusknoir can mega evolve, but the process is so extreme that I don't recommend trying it at home. Or anywhere else for that matter."

He spreads out his arms, being careful not to hit anything.

"But they're pretty neat, aren't they?"

He drops them then grabs a brownie with a spiderweb pattern on it. The spiderweb seems to be made of marshmallows.

"Feel free to help yourself to the punch and snacks, by the way, I promise it's not poison."

Her smile never falters, but she raises one of her own two hands to politely decline. “I’m not hungry, but I appreciate the thought.”

“I’m going a bit off script,” She continues, “But I have to ask. Does that mean you’re constantly mega evolved? Is that healthy? Even full pokemon don’t *stay* mega evolved after battle.”

"Oh, I am indeed constantly mega evolved. The energy that courses through me is quite painful as well. Again, I would not recommend this method."

He shrugs.

"I have my reasons for this, though, so I'm not bothered by my current state."

“Ohh, that sounds horrible,” Zee moans with syrupy condolence, “You poor thing.”

“So why do it then if it’s so painful?” She asks, leaning in slightly. “Are you stuck that way? Or do you just not know how to switch back? Was it even on purpose?”

"Because I want to protect what I care about."

Short, simple, to the point. No more elaboration than what's necessary. But there is something in his eyes, sadness? Anger? Pain? The slightest glimmers of all three can be seen.

His hands curl slightly, digging into the couch.

"When someone you care about gets slaughtered like a Grumpig by someone that everyone hails as a hero, you kind of want to make sure it Never. Happens. Again."

The words come out harshly, as if he wishes he could bite with them.

"That's rather understandable, isn't it?"

It isn’t a question, but moreso a dare to disagree. Go ahead and tell him it's not, that it's insane, that it's going too far. Go ahead. Do it. He dares you.

Zee’s perfect smile fades for a moment, and her brows furrow in thought. She looks toward the couch cushions, weighing her answer carefully in her mind.

“I understand completely!” She cheers at last, throwing her hands up toward the sky and flashing the teal of her wings. “I would do anything for my best friends. Wouldn’t anyone?”

She doesn’t wait for confirmation before she continues on.

“Slaughtered, you say?” She asks with a finger pressed to her cheek, “I’d really like to unpack that, but we do have an itinerary to get through first! SO! Next question!

Does being part dusknoir mean you have to do dusknoir responsibilities like ferry souls? I assume you have some awesome dusknoir super powers to help you with that.”

Orion immediately relaxes again, shifting back into his more lax state, simply refilling his cup of punch. Back away the emotions go, the revealing of anything but amusement. The heart back in the box and the steel lid snapped shut, secured once more.

"Oh, I do have to ferry souls. I have an old Dusknoir as a boss as well. He lives in the realm of souls and hasn't left in years from what I understand. I don't even know how old he is."

He leans back against the back of the couch, sipping from the cup before adding more information.

"Did you know he's harsh on hybrids? Tells me not to let my "human shit" get in the way of doing my job. Decent guy overall though."

“Oh! That’s not very nice of him!” Zee exclaims with her mouth agape and cheeks slightly reddened, “You poor thing, I bet you do your best. And I bet that takes a lot of time and effort, he can’t just say things like that to you.”

She huffs, lips pursed, and her chest and shoulders rising and fall sharply as if she’s truly very upset on Orion’s behalf. But again, she changes expressions and moves on.

“So,” She continues with a pretty smile, “If you ferry souls, how do you know which ones you’re bringing? Do you get a list? Is it beamed into your head FROM the spirit world? And! Most importantly! Have you ever taken someone who wasn’t supposed to die yet?”

"Ah, I don't blame him. It's a rough job. Gotta be ready to go at any time,” He laughs as Zee jumps to his defense. "He'll either call a meeting and give you your assignments for the week, or beam it straight into your head. Dusknoir antenna are mainly for communicating with each other. With hybrids it's more tricky. It's not like I have the antenna after all."

He taps his head for emphasis.

"But yes I can take your soul out if I so desire. I can also put it back in at will."

He grins and leans forward, positioning all his hands as if he is going to reach inside Zee.

"Wanna test it out?"

He wiggles his fingers in anticipation. His pink pokemon, Strawberry, perks up, prepared to intervene if needed.

Zee abruptly leans away when Orion raises his hands toward her, her eyes going a little wide. Her own hand clamps around the chimeco doll strapped to her hip. There’s fear for the first time in her eyes. But there’s also rage in the way her eyebrows press together and her eyes narrow, as if she’s wondering how dare he? How dare he try to touch her?

When he does not in fact move any closer, she mostly relaxes and straightens back up, though her hand remains on the little doll.

There’s a long moment before she answers him. She spends it looking him over, looking at his hands, his face, his eyes, as if she can judge the honesty and safety of such an offer simply by observing him.

No, it’s a terrible idea. She absolutely should not. She should end the stream and run, in fact.

But…

“What does the audience think?” She asks, her voice chipper with no tremble of fear to be heard as she looks toward the camera. And the chat. “Should I let him steal my soul? AND put it BACK, I hope?”

She glances at Orion for confirmation. She doesn’t need to read the scrolling chat to see the mixed reactions, most of which are in favor.

He relished the reaction. The fear, the anger at his audacity. He is cracking the doll. Chipping away at her little facade. He noticed that she put her hand on the doll. Was it just for comfort? Safety? Reassurance? Or...did it contain something to ward him off? To get him away from her if he should go too far.

"I won't do it unless you want me to, but it would make for a unique experience. I will put your soul back, of course. We can't do the stream without you, now can we?"

Zee is quiet for a long, long moment as she looks Orion up and down. Her smile never wavers, but her spine stiffens. Then she looks toward the chat, seeming to tally the comments in favor versus the comments against.

“Well, I think our lovely audience knows what they want. And I’m just TOO curious to pass up the opportunity!”

She smiles brightly and makes a heart shape in front of her chest with her hands.

“Steal away, Mister Dusknoir.”

At the last possible moment, second thoughts ghost across her face as she suddenly opens her mouth, beginning to form the word “wait”. Too late.

Orion lunges forward in a second, a spectral hand slamming into her body roughly enough to jar it before pulling out, holding up her soul for the audience to see. Holding it like a trophy. Strawberry bristles in his lap, watching him carefully.

Zee’s vacant body slumps against the back of the couch, her noivern ear headband tumbling to the floor.

"And this is what a soul looks like! Interesting, isn't it?” Orion exclaims gleefully, “I expected Zee's soul to be bright pink, in all honesty! Wouldn't that have been interesting?"

The chat is going nuts, some praising and some concerned. After all, what is he going to do with her soul, with her body slumped on the couch?

He raises his shirt some, the maw on his torso opening up wide.

"Now, I'm gonna give Zee the experience of being held inside my body. She'll be able to remember this all once I put it back, but I'm giving her a few moments away. Like a mini vacation, you know?"

He laughs as he looks at the chat again, and he places Zee’s soul inside himself. The maw closes.

"Alright. There we go. Just a few moments and then she'll be back, alright? Don't worry, I'm not getting rid of her! She's too lovely for that, isn't she, chat?"

He hums, drinking punch, eating a brownie, and then getting a refill. After a few moments he opens his maw back up and retrieves her soul. He pushed it back into her body, causing her to 'wake' with a start.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Zee! So, how do you feel?"

Zee gasps, spasming once before throwing herself into an upright position as she abruptly finds herself whole again. The air filling her lungs burns. The light burns. She squints against the living room lights for a moment. Another moment. Then her eyes adjust and she looks toward Orion again.

With a hand pressed hard against her chest, scrunching her top under her fingers, she stares at Orion. No mask. Just blatant shock written across her parted lips and wide, golden eyes. Then she catches herself, and she falls back into her calm, pretty smile, like a prey pokemon hiding its wounds to avoid hunting by a predator.

“Well! That was… That was something! Thank you!” She swallows, glancing at the camera from the corner of her eye before fulling turning to face it. “How about a quick break? Deedee!”

The screen switches to a “We’ll Be Right Back!” splash screen.

[When the stream resumes, Zee asks Orion a few more questions, mostly about what it’s like having another mouth in his torso and whether or not he can use ghost pokemon moves as a hybrid. She also coaxes him to strip off his shirt to provide a better view of the dusknoir mouth and six arms. Throughout the last few minutes of the stream, Zee maintains a smile, but she seems slower in her movements. Fatigued. Shadows creep up under her eyes as the minutes tick by. She flinches once when Orion turns too abruptly, her hand flying toward the oddly square and heavy looking chimeco doll on her belt.

When she finishes her questions, there’s relief in her brilliant smile as she signs off]

“Remember skiddos, mommy loves you!”
