ok im about to go through so many 6260 asks i ahve been staring at these for so long im so sorry. i never answered them.

I LOVEE HARRY OSBORN SO MUCH hes always been one of my favourite spiderman characters (thank u to the raimi movies i grew up with) but its so tiring to always see him like, try to live up to what his father wants him to be, even if he doesnt like his father (asm2 moment), let him be MEAN!!!!!!!!

not really sure what else to expand upon with harrys character, obviously his home life isnt that good, but a lot of his character does kind of revolve around his relationship with his father -- i mean obviously he's a good friend to pete and mj, but just like other incarnations, norman has a big impact on him.

i like to think harry isnt an intrinsically nice guy, instead being fairly neutral, while peter is the good samaritan of the group and mj bending rules all the time. he cares about pete and mj because theyre the only ones (in his mind at least) that genuinely care about him for his personality and sense of self, and not just for his money or status, like some other students might do (like flash or smth)

but he also likes to stick it to his father, so that leads to him doing something fun with his friends, but purposefully doing something that his dad wouldn't approve of -- setting off firecrackers in a parking lot with mj, wasting tons of money on fast/junk food, instead of studying going out to the movies or arcade or something. anything to escape the oppressive nature of his home life.

harry also dresses very business-casual/formal, mainly because of his father, but he definitely has some sweatpants and casual wear stored away somewhere that he wears on the off-day. though i like to imagine him being a bit of a skater kid, and its really funny to imagine him in his long coat trying to learn how to do a kickflip while wearing docs lol

Looks like they updated Gwen’s backstory and Peter’s model in Across the Spider-Verse!

Differences + speculation below!

Peter’s character model is now completely overhauled - he’s no longer a clone of Peter B. Parker! (I for one I’m glad, because the age difference in the two always felt weird to me, even though I knew they reused his character model in order to save time.) His hair is poofier (almost like Andrew’s Spidey) and he looks a lot younger - but he’s lacking the round glasses he wears in the comics.

In the comics, Peter turns into the lizard and Gwen unknowingly kills him - she thinks he’s just a supervillain, unaware that she’s fighting her best friend! She’s a bit too rough on him and he ends up dying from the aftermath. This lines up with the original backstory in ITSV (you can see the lizard scales on his body faintly) but it doesn’t seem to be the case in ATSV!

Because… Peter is Spider-Man in this new backstory! I’m a bit sad the lizard backstory is being scrapped since the lizard is my favorite, but I’m intrigued!

Did Peter and Gwen fight crime together before his death? Did both know about the other or did they keep it secret? How did Peter die? Is this a reverse ASM2 Gwen Stacy situation where he gets dropped and isn’t caught in time? Although it seems weird that Spider-Man wouldn’t be able to catch himself… maybe a super villain killed him instead? I would love to see more Spidey villains in ATSV!

Whatever the case, I know they changed Gwen’s backstory to better fit the narrative and I can’t wait to see how it plays out!

What if the characters were bitten by conveniently radioactive spiders and became spider-man (or skeletons)? How would they act and maybe look then?

[I accidentally deleted the original answer to this ask so i’m so sorry if it seems shorter or not as detailed i’m just really frustrated!!]

okay, so-

I have been hyperfixating on Spiderverse since before it released so this ask is literally a dream come true. Warning there may be spoilers for different Spiderman movies!

I will also be going into depth of potential Canon storylines, adding onto O’hara’s theory in ATSV.

Now, I don’t think the ordinary radioactive spiders made by Oscorp or Alchemax [Or anyone else] would do much of anything to the twins, but if they did, the descriptions are below.

For Dream, I think he would just say “Oh cool new powers” and call it a day once he learns to control them. He wouldn’t use it to save people or even help, just for his own gain. Nothing would change, and I don’t think he’d have a change of outfit, either. Maybe his webs could be golden ones made of pure positivity?

For Nightmare, he’d use his power for helping others who have lost their way or for stealth. Now, I’m not saying Miles Morales invisibility type stuff, I mean he would be able to blend into shadows much easier. I picture him using an all black suit as part of his normal attire as he would be committed to the job [similar to that of Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spiderman after Gwen died in ASM2.] His webs, I think, would be contrasted but similar to Dream; made out of pure negativity in a black shade. For an extra twist, maybe he’d have his goopy substance on it, or even better, Venom’s.

For Killer, his abilities would be similar to Tom Holland’s Spiderman. Unfortunately, no cool Iron Spider because he doesn’t know a Tony Stark and that is way out of his range. He’d feel happy knowing he’s helping other people, but the press might ruin his pride. [Especially if a figure like J Jonah Jameson is around.] I think he would wear a white and red suit, potentially with his target somewhere on it?

For Cross, I think he would be similar to Killer ability-wise. I’m kind of tempted to give him a tool to use like Pavitr Prabhakar has, but unsure of what that would be. He’d probably have a black and purple suit [I believe there’s a suit like this in the Spider-man games— correct me if I’m wrong! If there is that’s what his suit would look like.]

Now for the Canons:

Dream’s Canon would include:

Killer’s death [He is the closest person to Dream, and would possibly teach him a thing or two about attending those you care about most.]

The saving of his cult from people who heard about it. [Dangerous people btw, not just hikers]

Nightmare’s canon would include:

The potential death of Dream: Nightmare is the only person who can kill Dream, so I picture he was saving someone from their realm, and Dream had come by to bother his brother. Now, they fight, yadayada, but Nightmare accidentally uses too much negativity, which was fatal for Dream. The only reason why the imbalance isn’t met is because there is a cycle with the energy. This is something separate and needs to be explained in another post.

The death of his closest friend [You know the one that committed suicide in the original story? Well, in this one, this friend dies due to secret villainy.]

Like as far as “worst comic book movies ever” go, I think on many levels WW84 is genuinely the worst of them all because it makes you wonder if the first film was decent by accident. Like with F4ntastic, there was never any genuine hope it would be good, and with ASM2 it’s at least shitty in a funny way (not to mention the first one didn’t inspire much confidence). But WW84? This was supposed to be the sequel to the first big female-led superhero movie of the modern age, a film that holds up pretty well despite an awkward finale, and they just did absolutely everything as poorly as possible.

Yeah sure the joke about Toby!Peter preferring the Chrysler Building in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Andrew!Peter preferring the Empire State “because it has a better view” is funny and all until you rewatch ASM2 and realize that you can easily see the Empire State in the skyline background during the cemetery scene and that the Chrysler Building is nowhere in sight.

Andrew!Peter says the Empire State has a better view not because of the skyline or how tall it is but because he can look at the cemetery and see the general area where Gwen is buried from there.
