i had concerns over eviternity II at first but i'm having a lot of fun so far. it's got probably the hardest opening of any wad i've played for one, and i'm really enjoying the custom content. i was a bit worried about the maps getting Really Long after episode 1 (mainly because of the length of Vytaan's playthrough videos) and while i'm still keeping my guard up, the length of pagb666's videos is making them seem a lot more reasonable

cairn's hollow makes me so crazy like there is noo future. generations do not march onward. the teens want out. casper is the only party member from the hollow and each generation of the cor carolis had one fewer child than the last. a slow dwindling of body mass and capital-- the existential threat is coming from inside the house!-- and casper is going to end the line. mwah. c'est fini. the hollow is incompatible with human life and new forms of being are trying to find their niche :) so to me there is this delicious irony that victrans are soo obsessed with the empire's little origin myth.... its imperial-cosmogony-by-martyrdom.... when really they should be talking eschatology 😝 because that shit is doomed. victra delenda est!

So I just went rollerskating (gave up immediately), and on my way there I thought of an interesting idea: modern setting (or not, anything can happen in Kuro after all), and Alois and Ciel are like “my demon is better than yours” and all that and decide to pit the two against one another in a rollerskating race.
#despite the absurd conditions of this scenario it’s actually a character study#both demons are impeccable at everything they do so I guess it starts on an actual track but soon one more in the natural environments#and by that I mean on highway cliffs and shit#i can also imagine sebastian putting on elbow pads and and a helmet and everything#and claude’s just like ‘but. we’re demons. we don’t need that’ and seb’s just grinning smugly at him with a cool counter argument#and so before we know it claude’s groaning and putting them on too#maybe character study in the sense that ciel’s like ‘oh don’t put claude into too much of an early grave yet’#but alois is like ‘annihilate him claude!!’#and something happens where claude almost like falls to his ‘death’ or something (or something significantly bad#that pulls even sebastian out of his theatrics/the competition)#and sebastian saves him maybe under the guise of his orders and ‘what kind of race would it be’ blah blah blah#and then towards the end claude returns the favour after it looks like he isn’t going to#showing his deception of alois’ order#maybe because he likes sebastian? maybe#anyway now i tag:#black butler#kuroshitsuji#black butler ii#kuroshitsuji ii#claude faustus#sebastian michaelis#claudebastian#claude x sebastian#seblaude#sebastian x claude#ciel phantomhive#alois trancy#character study#null’s fic made me want to revisit kuro ii and I can’t because I’m out but I know that if I was ‘in’ I wouldn’t be watching it#original post

PLEASE Hades II give us the option to use the first game's weapons with the new gods 🙏🙏🙏 I have faith in Supergiant that they'll make the new weapons/abilities fun as hell too but I never want to part with the fists (or the Hera Bow lol).
Speaking of, what's your favorite weapon in Hades? :o
i don't know, im really looking forward to the new skills and weapons and wouldn't actually mind if they didn't bring back the old ones. what i loved about the first game was the variety of weapons and skills it offered and the different kind of play styles you could develop with them - the process of discovering what fits you and then perfecting your favourite play styles is half the fun for me, even if it puts you through a lot of trial and error at first! imo that process of discovery and slow growth is what made hades so engaging in the first place. and tbh having access to the same weapons again could maybe make it uh, a little too easy to steamroll the game, bc im already proficient at those. time to learn something new! new tactics, new combos, etc etc! if i want to play with the weapons from hades i, id just play hades i again.
as for my favourite weapons from hades i, shield with aspect of chaos is easily my favourite! my current record is 20mins and im trying to shave another minute off of that. second favourite is the spear with aspect of hades - record of 21mins. i like being able to work both from a distance and in close quarters :) unfortunately the fists have never really fit me, even though i know they're many people's favourite! i try aspect of enkidu every once in a while, but i tend to take way too much damage when i wear them lmao

Arnesa Buljušmić-Kustura knows the makings of a genocide when she sees it. Not only is she a genocide researcher and educator, but she also herself lived through the siege on Sarajevo during the Bosnian War in the early 1990s. Tens of thousands of Bosnian civilians were killed, tens of thousands more women were raped, and millions of Bosnian Muslims were uprooted in an ethnic cleansing campaign. Another 8,000 Bosniak Muslim boys and men were slaughtered in Srebrenica during Europe’s only recognized genocide since World War II. The parallels between the siege on Gaza and the systematic violence that stole her grandmother, grandfather and uncle in Sarajevo, Visegrad and Srebrenica haunt her. “Everything to me reeks of genocide,” she says. “It’s the genocidal rhetoric. It’s the objectification. It’s the dehumanization. It’s the occupation.” Buljušmić-Kustura, 36, has dedicated her life to ensuring that another generation is never forced to face the same horrors she did. But as the death toll from Israel’s endless indiscriminate bombings on Gazan civilians pushes higher and higher, she feels history repeating itself. “They are showing us the bombings, they are showing us the destruction, the dead, the children and women being pulled out of rubble … of the bombardment, of what it means to live without electricity, food, water and aid,” she says.  As Israel enacts communication blackouts that obscure the extent of the continued massacre, Buljušmić-Kustura has a stark warning: “We cannot stay silent. Otherwise, we’re going to wake up one day to see an entire ethnic group completely annihilated, and we will all be responsible for it.”

Birthday Blues: Part II
Read part 1 here.
Steve still hates his birthday. He also realized it's possible to actually have good birthdays.
He still doesn't make a habit of informing people his birthday's coming up soon, or making a wishlist or plans to do anything. But his friends don't exactly make a habit of forgetting either.
With calendars marked and sticky notes written, with paperchains made and small, accessible gifts bought early and cards made in advance, and a few smacks and shoves to the arm from one kid to another for the monetary lapse in memory when the briefly bring up doing something else on Friday--they remember. Oh, and let's not forget the death glare Eddie would offer them when they get a little too overzealous and let their intentions almost slip.
Steve still has traumatic memories of his past and now he worries over his future, how his life is roughly 25% over. And that's just if he's lucky enough to make it that long in a town like Hawkins, in a country like America.
But each subsequent birthday of Steve's, Eddie does his very best to gently remind him of all the good things that have happened in the past year for him, of all the good things yet to come. To not dwell on his yearly quarter-life crisis.
The kids and Robin bring him their little offerings throughout the week so as not to overwhelm him on one day of hell. So it's not like actual presents. Just little random tokens of affection.
They also make a habit of asking Steve to go do things with them under the guise of needing a ride, but Steve knows damn well it's really all for him.
"Steve, we want ice cream." Or "Steve, we wanna go see this movie." And even "Steve, we want to go to this restaurant, want to join us? We'll pay."
This year he was talked into checking out this basketball game with Lucas, and then talked into playing their own little one-on-one amongst the two of them after. And then, hey, let's make it a not-party and have everyone join in. Just like a real game. Steve naturally annihilates them all but everyone has their own strengths.
After, they all order pizza and indulge until Steve's threatening them if they puke on his and Eddie's couch.
No one dares to utter those two words. But they all know what isn't being said. Actions speak louder than words, after all.
And at night, once everyone's gone and it's just Steve and Eddie in their modest home, they curl up together on the couch. Steve rests his head on Eddie's shoulder, Eddie holds him close.
"I had a really good time today. A good week."
"Yeah? I'm glad to hear that, baby." He presses a kiss into Steve's soft hair.
"Thank you for helping them to give me the best birthday ever."
"Anything for you, Stevie." He squeezes him twice.
Happy Birthday... I love you.

Have you heard of the term Holocaust before? Surely, you have, without a doubt, there is hardly anyone who hasn't heard before about the genocide that occurred during World War II, in which nearly six million Jews were killed by Nazi Germany and its allies.
The Holocaust, ladies and gentlemen, was a systematic process of persecution and murder with the purpose of annihilating a specific race (the Jews) Eighty years ago, and today, we witness a new Holocaust, but this time, the lamb has become the wolf, and it has unleashed its claws on others, delighting in shedding their blood after isolating them from the world completely, cutting off all means of communication, and even electricity and water.
Enough talking; witness it for yourselves this time.
