#AND WHEN HE SAW THE BOND HE AND THOR EVENTUALLY MAKE
beheworthy · 9 months
Note
Thor takes care of Gorr's daughter because Jane asked? Does he take care of her to get over Jane or does this situation have nothing to do with Jane?
Yes, Thor takes Gorr's daughter in because Jane asked. Jane is his whole entire reason to do this.
He's not trying to get over Jane. The lesson is to keep loving even after losing the person instead of shutting your heart to it.
-
However, I've reiterated time and again that this whole thing with the child was beyond lazy storytelling and a criminally manipulative and laughably pathetic attempt to cash in on the 'gruff hero with cute child' trope going on these days. For example, Pedro Pascal and Baby Grogu, Pedro Pascal and Ellie Williams, Chris Hemsworth in the Extraction series, Kratos and Atreus, Geralt and Ciri, and the attempts in recent Marvel content.
Tumblr media
It fails on all accounts in Thor4 because it's not *picks up microphone* earned. We know nothing about this child. We don't see them interact, have friction, have resentment against one another (her father died because of him and his girlfriend died because of her - you already had the foundation you doofuses), and eventually make the choice of choosing one another. It just cuts to them being cute to manipulate the audience and I hate it with every fibre of my being.
Contrast this with Din thinking of Baby Grogu as an assignment and then making the choice to save him at the expense of his job and life. And Baby Grogu making the choice to heal Din when he saw him get hurt defending him, risking exposing himself as a Force-sensitive despite the horrors it has caused him.
Tumblr media
This is engaging, impactful storytelling that has pathos and emotion attached to it. It makes us care about Din and Baby Grogu bonding and their cute moments together are earned. And the ending of Thor4 where Thor and Gorr's daughter (yes, she doesn't have a name) are bEiNg CuTe is the opposite of that.
-
So, it doesn't matter to me if this is for Jane or not. I refuse to accept it. I hope it gets retconned the way Thor's eye being gouged out was.

Tony and Bruce being Kamala’s Dads
warnings: none
a/n: i haven’t done a hc in a while so here we are. also this isn’t an x reader, and also this isn’t tony x bruce but if you wanna see it that way then be my guest
masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i just think kamala’s interactions with tony and bruce are so adorable and whenever kamala is with the avengers they treat her like the daughter they never had
just thinking about it makes me happy because i just think the three of them are the cutest little family ever
of course kamala has her own family, but she still loves this one just as much
bruce and tony argue, that’s not a secret. they’ll argue over anything. now one thing they’ve added to that is kamala. it seems like they can’t go over a week without arguing over her.
tony has the ‘fun parent’ approach while bruce is a little more strict. bruce will scold kamala if she puts off her chores or work meanwhile tony is taking her on joyrides around the city when she has multiple other things to be doing
“the girl’s 16, tony! she already has a lot on her plate trying to be undetected in school, being an avenger, and having a social life. you can’t just try and take up all her time, it’s selfish.”
“it isn’t selfish if she’s having fun too. my bad for actually trying to help her not have the most boring life ever like you mr. i have a permanent stick up my ass.”
then kamala comes into the room, excited to show bruce she got an A on the chemistry homework he helped her with. she sees them glaring at each other and clears her throat to alert them of her presence. “i hope i’m not interrupting anything super important.”
bruce sighed and moved his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose. “no, nothing too important. just tony being an immature asshole as usual.” “oh, get over yourself nerd!”
but then they’d end up bonding over whatever kamala had to show them and they’d forget the argument until they eventually got into another one.
when it came to training, she always went to tony first. mainly because it was easier to train with iron man than hulk. and because tony wouldn’t hold back on telling her where she needed to improve
but when it came to most other things, bruce was her guy. he’d be more level headed and give her a logical answer to whatever problem needed solving, and most times his advice helped. if it didn’t she’d go to tony instead.
obviously she didn’t only talk to those two, but they were the ones who usually made time for her, and were just easy to get along with.
but after them it was probably natasha. kamala just thought she was the coolest and therefore loved hanging out with her even if it was only for a few minutes.
natasha was usually busy doing stuff and tended to not have much time for the younger girl. she chalked it up to not liking kids but everyone could tell that she had a soft spot for kamala and actually felt bad whenever she had to reject her requests to hang out.
and while kamala had a lot of respect towards steve, she didn’t hang out with him as much because she found his personality quite formal and even a little intimidating
then there was thor, she loved him. he was funny and cool, but was also busy a lot. even still, he’d always try to make time to talk with her, because he enjoyed having someone who didn’t mind listening to his stories about asgard and whatever else he wanted to talk about.
tony loved taking kamala on missions because it was a learning experience as well as a bonding experience. and despite being young she was still pretty strong and helpful. but he’d feel life absolute shit every time she got hurt, even if it was just a little scratch and she could heal herself
and bruce loved having her help him out in the lab, even if all she did was hold things and make jokes, he still loved her company
“woah, mr. stark! did you see that?” kamala said after destroying an AIM synthoid. “that was totally a one-hit kill!” she ran up to tony as he finished off another one. “i know, i saw! you’ll have to teach me that move.”
and i just feel like kamala would try to teach them pakistani recipes she learned from her ammi, even though she’d mess up and forget the ingredients sometimes. even still, it’d be a fun experience and almost always end in a flour fight between the three of them.
sometimes when there isn’t anything to do because the others are away on missions, the three of them will just chill in kamala’s room and she’ll show them ideas she’s been working on to try and get their opinions, or she’ll just talk to them about how much she misses being able to hang out with bruno and nakia but can’t considering aim knows who she is and she doesn’t want to put them in danger
then they’d comfort her about it and end up eating ice cream and watching sitcoms until she’d fall asleep
this is kinda short but i just think it’s a very adorable concept 👏👏👏

Summary:
A year has passed since the Snap. As you look to find a fresh start in life, you end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. A small cult dedicated to the newly revitalized Norse religion chooses you as a sacrifice with the belief that this will give Thor and the other gods the strength to undo what Thanos has done. What you don’t know is that human sacrifices come with a powerful magic — those who are sacrificed become linked with the god they have been given to. It’s been a millennia since a human was sacrificed to one of the gods. You’ve been bound to Loki.
CHAPTER 16
Loki
Loki laid you down gently against your pillow. His incantation would leave you asleep for thirty minutes, which was more than enough time for him to slip away and finally set his plan in motion.
He watched your face, peaceful as you slept. He watched your chest rise and fall, as you breathed slowly but continuously.
The god didn’t know how he’d had the strength to pull away. You were so eager, and the bond felt incredibly strong in the moment – more than Loki had ever felt it with any mortal who’d been sacrificed to him. It was likely so potent because of how often you were within each other’s proximity, and yet the deed still wasn’t done. That, and his current emotional predicament he had toward you, it really was a miracle he’d been able to do it at all.
He took one last glance at you, happily asleep, and bent over to plant a kiss on your forehead. When Loki pulled away, he picked up the basket of golden apples, leaving behind the one half he promised to you. Before taking his leave, he conjured a sheet of paper and a pen, scribbling a short message, then placing it back on the nightstand.
I’m sorry.
With the apples in tow, Loki met with his father, mother, and Heimdall, who were waiting for him in the courtyard, just outside the doors to the palace.
“Heimdall?” Loki asked when he saw the golden-eyed gatekeeper. “Where have you been all this time?”
“A retreat, much like the ones your mother takes,” the gatekeeper replied. “Since I’ve arrived in Valhalla, my senses have… weakened. I do these retreats to prevent them from getting any worse. Death has altered them in a way I did not anticipate.”
“Is that how the fire giants got the upper hand on us?” Loki asked.
“Yes, I did not see them come.” There was shame in his tone. He cleared his throat. “I am proud of you for stopping them and getting the warriors of Valhalla back.”
Loki nodded.
“How did she take it?” Frigga asked, changing subjects.
“Not well, but she didn’t have much of a choice anyway,” Loki waggled his fingers, puffing a tiny bit of purple magic from the tips.
Frigga sighed, but nodded.
“So, father, I have your blessing to leave Valhalla and return to Earth?” Loki asked.
“Yes, Loki. You have my blessing,” the Allfather said.
“Good luck, my dear boy,” Frigga said, planting a kiss on Loki’s cheek.
“Alright, Heimdall. What have you got for me?” the trickster god asked the gatekeeper.
In response, Heimdall revealed Hofund, the large sword used to open and close the Bifrost. He motioned for Loki and his king and queen to follow him to the center of the courtyard, back to the gazebo where Loki convened with Frigga about how to save you from the giants. Heimdall and Loki filed into the wood and stone structure, with Odin and Frigga just outside on the courtyard’s cobblestone floor.
“Why here?” Loki asked, looking around the small, round building that roofed and seated no more than a dozen people.
“Watch,” Heimdall said.
With the tip of the sword, he knocked on the table in the center of the gazebo three times. Right down the middle, a line formed and the two halves of the table pulled apart. When they separated, a golden metal cylinder rose from the ground. It was identical to the pedestal on the bridge back on Asgard used to open the Bifrost.
Heimdall picked the sword up and inserted it into the pedestal. A groaning noise sounded and instantly, the Bifrost whooshed open between the two poles on Heimdall’s right. It was not as large an opening to the Bifrost as the gate back on Asgard, where several people could step through it at once, but it was the Bifrost nonetheless. Loki didn’t think he would see the rainbow bridge ever again, not after Ragnarok. He found himself speechless.
“Call out to me when the quest is complete,” Heimdall said.
Loki took one last look at the gatekeeper, the Allfather, and his mother.
“Before you go, my son,” Odin spoke. “I just wanted to let you know that I am proud of you.”
“We are both so proud of you, Loki,” Frigga said.
Loki gripped the handle of the basket tightly in his hand, then relaxed.
“Thank you,” Loki replied. He barely made eye contact with his father as he said so, but there was an approving smile on the Allfather’s face. “Here goes nothing.”
Loki had no idea where on Midgard he appeared when he stepped through the portal. All he knew was that he was in the right place, given the absurdly large A on the side of the Avengers compound.
It took Loki a good ten minutes to find where the Avengers were gathered. The main building of the compound was enormous and mostly empty. A light chill went down Loki’s spine as he realized the reason it was so empty was because half the population; half the workers, the supervisors, half of the superheroes who would be here were gone.
Loki was in Folkvangr when Freya delivered the news to him that Thanos had done it, that half of the universe’s denizens disappeared without a trace. It was horrendous news, but Loki’s plan hadn’t failed yet. If Thanos had done it, he could at least bring the apples to the Avengers and they could make the mad titan reverse his doing.
…If any Avengers were still alive, that is.
And if none of the Avengers were still alive, well, he would do it himself.
But to Loki’s relief he did find them, and they were gathered around some complicated machinery plugged into a dingy, old van. Wires and cables were strewn around everywhere. Loki had never seen this ugly contraption the wires were plugged into, but figured by the four wheels that it was some kind of Earth vehicle. Why was it so square?
“Woah! Who the hell – who let this guy in?” A talking raccoon said, gesturing across the room to Loki, who was observing the scene with a raised eyebrow.
The heads in the room swiveled around, and upon seeing Loki, every single person pulled out their weapons – save for Rocket and Nebula.
There was a big commotion as Natasha, Clint, Bruce, Scott, Tony, Steve, and Rhodey scrambled to surround Loki. Arrows, fists, laser guns, and pistols were shoved in Loki’s face. The god looked at them with boredom.
“How the hell did you get past my security?” Tony Stark asked, whose T-shirt and jeans a moment ago were replaced now with his iconic red and yellow armor.
“Security?” Loki asked. “Oh, were you not accounting for magic? Tsk tsk, Stark.”
“Who is this man?” Nebula asked, eyeing Loki up and down with a scowl.
“It’s Loki,” Steve answered her.
“Loki? You mean Thor’s brother, the guy who’s dead?” Rocket said.
“Yes, him,” Natasha said while not taking her eyes off Loki, waiting for him to make the wrong move.
“Yes, me,” Loki repeated with a smile. “And I brought gifts.” He gestured to the basket of four and a half apples.
Clint snatched the basket from him and showed it to Tony. “These aren’t explosives or something are they?”
Tony pulled a small contraption out of his back pocket and scanned them. “Not explosive. No poisons, gases, metals, radiation, or diseases detected either. It does detect something, but what, I can’t tell.”
“It’s called magic, Stark.” Loki said dryly.
“So what the hell are these, then? Are they gonna turn us all into worms or something?” Rhodey asked.
“I only wish,” Loki replied. “But to be serious for a moment, I am here to help and the apples are part of said help.”
There was an equal mixture of ironic laughter and scoffs from the Avengers surrounding him. Then, a shout carried across the room.
“LOKI!”
Thor was already halfway to his younger brother, a smile on his face and tears forming in his eyes. He shoved himself between Natasha and Scott to pull Loki into a bear hug, lifting him so that his feet left the ground.
“Thor. Thor. Thor! THOR!” The god of mischief shouted, feeling his bones cracking underneath Thor’s strength.
Thor apologized and put Loki back down.
“Stand back, Thor, we don’t know why Loki’s here or what he has planned,” Natasha said.
Loki gestured to the basket, trying to ignore the pain in his back and arms. “Thor, please vouch for me.”
It took a moment for Loki to bring Thor up to speed with the conversation. He had to repeat some parts of it to Thor, who was so shocked to see Loki that he was having difficulty focusing. He even asked a few times if he was really seeing and hearing his brother again or if he’d just drunk too much again, but eventually it did all sink in.
After Loki finished he looked at the golden apples.
“Loki, how in the world did you get your hands on these?”
“What are they?” Bruce asked.
“Idunn’s apples,” Thor remarked. “They’re extremely potent apples that allow Asgardians to live for millennia.”
“So, they aren’t poisonous, then,” Steve said. “Right?”
Thor shook his head.
“Thank you, Thor, for backing my innocence,” Loki said. “Now, if you would all give me some space and allow me to explain. I have brought myself and these apples here for a reason.”
It took another good few minutes before the Avengers finally did calm down, but with Thor’s reassurance, they begrudgingly heard Loki out. So he went back to the beginning, with giving his life up willingly to Thanos, to coming to Folkvangr – the afterlife, but not the correct one, how he’d bided his time to get to Valhalla because Freya would not let one of her warriors leave her domain. Eventually, you came along and with Loki’s help you were able to cast a portal to Valhalla. After arguing with Odin and fighting the fire giants, only then, finally, was Loki able to obtain the golden apples and come back with them to stop Thanos.
With the context aside, Loki then told his audience the properties of the golden apples, how they would bolster any consumer’s strength. Loki explained that he believed the apples would grant brief immunity against Thanos’ forces and the mad titan himself.
“I hope they can grant strength against the Stones, but of that part I am not sure. However, I know we will have a formidable chance against Thanos if we eat these apples,” Loki concluded his story.
The room was silent.
“Wow,” Tony broke it. “That is a long 5-year journey you went through there, Loki. Honestly, I’m impressed.”
“Ah, yes. That is right, time has passed quite a bit more than I expected whilst in the afterlife. So, it’s been five years and you lot still haven’t killed Thanos?”
“Oh, we killed him alright,” Natasha said, smiling sarcastically. It faded pretty soon, and a steely look was left in her eyes.
“So, he is dead?” Loki was confused.
“Four years ago we tracked down Thanos, threatening him to give us the Infinity Gauntlet. We were ready that time. We brought the fight to him. He had no idea we were coming, but it didn’t matter,” Steve explained.
Loki made a motion with his hands. “And..?”
Steve continued. “Thanos destroyed the Stones after he wiped out half the universe. It nearly killed him, but the Gauntlet was broken beyond repair and the Stones were nowhere to be found. He made sure what he did couldn’t be undone. He had a contingency plan.”
Loki took a weakened step back. “So, it was all for nothing…”
“Maybe the apples were, but you might have actually come at the perfect time,” Bruce spoke up. “We’ve been working to build a time machine.”
Loki looked at the scientists as if they were crazy, but the look in their eyes assured him that they were completely sane – and serious. Now it was time for the heroes to explain to Loki their plan of going back in time to get the stones from the past and correct the actions of Thanos before he could Snap the population.
“That’s probably one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever heard, but it seems it’s the only one we have,” Loki said. He nodded. “So, what do you need me to do?”
Natasha laughed. “What we should be doing is throwing you in some dungeon where you’ll never be seen again. Or, just make it easier on everyone and kill you.”
“Natasha, please. I know my brother has done wrong.”
The entire group gave Thor a glare.
“–has done many, many things wrong,” he reiterated. “But he is outnumbered and we can keep an eye on him. I know he is here to help. Before Thanos killed him he was doing good things to help Asgard relocate to Midgard. And we need all the help we can get.”
Natasha sighed, others shook their heads. There was a silence in the room, the silence of admission.
“Fine,” Steve finally spoke. “But he does anything out of line, anything vaguely suspicious, and he’ll regret it.”
“Oh, please, let us not refer to me in the third person. I’m part of the team now, aren’t I?” Loki flashed a sparkling grin at the first Avenger.
“Like I said, you’ll regret it.”
Steve walked past Loki, brushing him with his shoulder as he passed. Tony, Natasha, Clint, and Rhodey all mumbled and grumbled, but agreed, and went their own ways.
Thor, Scott, and Bruce stayed, with Rocket and Nebula hanging back to listen.
“Wow, uh, a lot has happened since we were last together,” Bruce remarked. “Sorry about the whole dying thing. How was that?”
“Terrible,” Loki replied.
Bruce nodded. “Yeah, yeah,” he said awkwardly. “Well, Stark, Scott, and I here are doing a lot of work to put together this time machine. Is there any… time magic that you could help to make this easier?”
Loki restrained himself from making a smart comment. “No, and believe me, I’ve looked into it.”
Bruce and Scott nodded and went back to their calibrations, and Rocket and Nebula returned to the kitchen for some snacks. It was just Loki and his brother now.
“Loki, it is… there are no words for how joyous I am that you’re here,” Thor said. He clapped a hand on his brother’s shoulder.
“And you have no idea how nice it is to be amongst the living again, but unfortunately I cannot stay for long. I died. Eventually, I will have to go back to the land of the dead. And I also have to go back to help unbind the mortal from me.”
“Unbind?” Thor asked. “Surely, you aren’t saying –”
“I am. I suppose with our return to Midgard after centuries, we’ve sparked a renewal of the religion we inspired down here. Because of the Snap, these people became desperate and, well, they sacrificed her to me.”
“By the realms, poor woman. Well, Loki, for whatever time I get to be with my brother again, I am happy for it.”
Loki didn’t say it, but he was happy for it too. But there was still something bothering him that he didn’t get a chance to address while half a dozen people were sticking weapons in his face.
“Thor?” Loki asked awkwardly.
“Yes, Loki,” Thor spoke with a wide grin.
“What, ah…” Loki cleared his throat. His eyes drifted to Thor’s scraggly beard and beer belly. “What happened to your physique?”

OOO OK hear me out: headcanon of midnight fast food runs with all the avengers. somehow everyone’s awake at 3 am so everyone gets piled into a car, half asleep, peter driving and y/n playing the best music, just to walk into like mcdonald’s and getting recognized and it’s just the best thing ever
a/n: you creative child, this is brilliant!! thank u for sending it in :’) here you go, another headcanon bc this is how i cope lol enjoy
pairing: peter parker x avenger!reader
              ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
the avengers + 3 am midnight runs
it’s 3:30 am and it’s one of those nights
no can sleep, everyone is awake for various reasons and they’re all sick of blindly tossing around. then they hear the elevator ding from out the hallway and they immediately perk up
they all get up at the same time and open their doors at the same time
bruce: “we have to stop spending so much time together”
then they silently shuffle toward the elevator to see who it is
thor, peter and y/n step out, all holding a venti iced latte and a mcmuffin and everyone acts like it’s grossing them out because it’s too early for food
but their eyes meet and it’s one of those moments where you know you’re about to do something careless and stupid but you do it anyway
they all squeeze into the elevator in their pyjamas without uttering a word and wiggle their way into the 10 passenger van they always use for bonding trips
y/n, peter and thor follow without protest bc Sleep Is For The Weak
peter somehow ends up in the driver’s seat while y/n gets to drive shotgun and no one notices bc everyone’s too busy fighting tooth and nail to get some room but then the car almost hits a lantern and someone screams
(it was loki)
“sHIT eyes on the road stark!!!” “wilson, i’m sitting right next to you?” “then who’s driving”
y/n, cheerily: “peter is!” “yep! and i think i’m doing a pretty good job too! can you believe i’ve only driven in parking lots and once in a car chase? funny right” “yOU WHAT-“
y/n switches to random stations to have it play quietly in the background but then ‘driver’s license’ comes on and peter whoops and rolls down the windows while y/n yanks up the volume
the avengers are flabbergasted because why are the younglings getting so excited about a song that is about heartbreak?
30 seconds later, they get it
sam pulls up lyrics, tony and nat chime in on the chorus with peter and y/n, and the others pull out flashlights and lighters to hold them up
bucky tries to wipe away his tears without anyone noticing, and steve smirks at him because ofc he saw it. he’s not impressed when bucky hisses at him
and then the bridge hits and everyone loses their minds
safety is thrown to the wind, everyone rolls down their windows and sticks out their heads and arms while screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs
it’s too cinematic to be real tbh but it’s GREAT
and that’s how the longest night of the year starts. not technically, but it sure feels like it because so much happens
mcdonald’s is lawless land and the avengers are on a mission to wholeheartedly contribute to the vibe
some guy waiting in line: “hey aren’t you the god of thunder? you’re an avenger right?”
thor, literally carrying mjolnir and very obviously traveling with the team: “never heard of them”
clint is an old man and it’s clearly past his bed time but he refuses to be left out of this, so he fluctuates between napping the moment they sit down and trying to drag everyone along to wander around
steve is 100% that one super super nice stranger you start a super deep conversation with and it leaves you in a great mood for the rest of the night
he even ends up exchanging numbers with a nice lady that does art workshops so now steve has a new place to flaunt his artistic vein :)
it’s literally 3 am but nat and loki look flawless. it’s ridiculous. they’re sauntering through this place, looking like the gods of hell, and leaving other insomniacs utterly speechless
they’re all turning their heads to stare after them because have they officially lost their minds? how does one look so intimidating but so magnificent
tony is the king of insomnia, he’s INVENTED it and it’s his city now, but once he’s out he’s out and no one has the heart to wake him up
he falls asleep in the most uncomfortable positions/places all night
he’s literally on top of a stranger’s car and they really have to go and the avengers are all shoving each other to be the one who has to interrupt his precious sleep
eventually bucky ends up carrying tony and he wakes up as they’re walking back
tony, patting bucky on the cheek before hopping down: “thanks buck”
peter being a class one protégé and passionate insomniac himself follows in his mentor’s footsteps and falls asleep everywhere, and although it’s kinda concerning, the team understands it shows his trust in them
he gets used to waking up in steve or thor’s arms
one time sam tossed him over his shoulder to get back to the car and peter is aghast, he is appalled, how dare he not carry him bridal style like the rest of the avengers, he deserves it-
they go get frozen yoghurt and steve only wants the healthy mango sorbet but y/n convinces him to try some of hers, which is vanilla chocolate fudge and oreo pieces
“that’s awful” “you want another bite” “yes”
(steve rogers is a whore for chocolate but you’ll never see him admit it)
nat challenges clint and bruce to fill their cups as high as possible so now they’re all stretched out on their stomaches on the floor by the yoghurt machines, ankles crossed, and navigating their cups to make the highest frozen yoghurt tower the world has ever seen
this starts a whole series of competitions in the middle of the store including who can leg press the most people
it ends up being a tie between steve, bucky, thor, and peter. they each had nat, tony, bruce AND loki and didn’t even break a sweat
“y/n, close your mouth”
but the night eventually does come to an end and everyone is huddled inside the van, some are already lightly snoring, and tony’s driving
once they’re back at the compound they don’t feel like parting ways though, so they wordlessly go to their rooms to grab all the pillows and blankets they can find
once they’re all sprawled on the ground in the living room, sleep comes easily especially after a night like that <3

I don't have much of a specific request but I saw frayed and I love angst with happy ending Stucky - what if they're spending more time together without the reading (missions, maybe?) and reader is upset and maybe starts doing things they'd planned on her own? Sorry if that's too much/not enough but your writing is so good
fractured
warnings: angst city, unhappy ending
(check out "frayed" first)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after the events of "frayed", things between the three of you got a lot better.
for a solid month after their failed competition, they did everything in the world to make it up to you. did everything you wanted the second that you asked for it.
eventually, though, you returned to normalcy (though, you did add the safe word to your sex life, as well as established a few more boundaries to make sure something like that didn't happen again).
things were good for a while, but eventually you hit another bump in the road.
steve and bucky were often away on long missions and, as a strategist, you were often left alone for long periods of time.
it wasn't anything that anyone could control. it was their jobs after all.
but it also made you feel like they didn't need you in their lives.
when they were away on missions, they could bond. when they got back, they were often resting and training for the next one.
nowadays, there was little time for the three of you to have time together.
you brought up your concerns to your boys, and they agreed that you all needed to do more stuff together.
the three of you made a list of plans, from movie nights to dinner reservations to weekend getaways. it was supposed to make things better, supposed to make your relationship stronger.
the first time they missed one of the plans, you wrote it off. they'd just got back from a mission that ran longer than expected. they were tired.
but when you asked them about it in the morning, to maybe try and do it then, they didn't even realize they missed something.
you wrote it off again as them just being tired.
then it happened a second time. and a third time. and a fourth.
eventually, you realized that they weren't going to come. so, you took matters into your own hands.
you took natasha out on movie nights. she liked "found family" types of movies, the nice feel-good kind of stuff. it was nice to cry on her shoulder when the big, emotional scenes would hit.
you'd take thor and loki out to dinners. loki would pretend the entire thing was beneath him, but he eventually warmed up and the two of them would tell you amazing stories about asgard.
you invited tony on shopping trips. he mostly shopped for himself, but occasionally he could convince you to get something for himself. eventually wanda would join on your outings, and tony would have fun trying to get you both to spoil yourselves for once.
it wasn't what you wanted, but it did make you feel better. at least there were people who wanted to spend time with you.
steve and bucky didn't even realize what was happening until they didn't have to go away on a mission for a whole two weeks, but you were rarely with them.
you always had something else going on. going to the comic book store with peter, teaching vision how to cook, going to the little book club you'd started with loki and bruce and a few of the other agents.
one day, when you were about to leave for an outing with clint, when your boys confronted you.
"why haven't you spent any time with us, sunshine?" bucky asked.
you shrugged. "didn't think you'd notice. or care."
"why wouldn't we care?" steve asked.
"well, we made so many plans together that you neglected. so i stopped trying."
the realization dawned on them. and that just made your heart break. how could they be so ignorant for so long? how could they just neglect you like this? why did they only care when it affected them?
"why didn't you say anything?"
"i did, steve. neither of you listen." you shrugged again. "i moved on from it. i know where i'm not wanted."
"we want you!" bucky protested. "please, let us make this right."
"i don't know if there's anything left to make right. i...i don't think i can do this any longer."
steve reached out, trying to grab at your hands but you only pulled away. "please, don't throw this all away."
"i'm not the one throwing anything away. that was you two. i'm just deciding that i don't wanna sit in the trash heap anymore." you looked away from them, shaking your head. "i'm sorry. but i need to be with someone who puts me first."
"we can do that!" bucky said.
"but you can't. that was the whole point of making plans. plans that you kept forgetting. i don't want to do this anymore."
"we love you though."
"and if you really love me, steve, then you'd let me go." you walked towards the door but, before you left, you said, "i'll be back for my stuff later. i'm sorry things had to end like this."
"we'll always love you," bucky said.
"and it's a damn shame that wasn't enough."

There was a reason why the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Justice League didn’t all get together: with that many superheroes, in one space, chaos was bound to break out. That chaos could be, quite literally, anything. From Iron Man challenging the Flash to an arm wrestling contest to Aquaman attacking Groot when he thought he was an enemy. Long story short, it just wasn’t a good idea . . . Until they found out that besides saving the world, all three teams had one thing in common: Y/N Y/LN.
Y/N had, to everyone’s astonishment, been on all three teams. Born as a Metahuman, she had started out on the Justice League team. Then, on a solo mission, she accidentally entered a black hole and bam! she found herself in another universe, and quickly bonded with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Eventually, it was determined that the Guardians couldn’t help her return to her home world - or universe - so she bid them goodbye and sought out the Avengers.
Y/N was the reason they had met. The reason that they knew of each other's universes. Now, seeing as her birthday was rapidly approaching, she was the reason they were coming together once more. Each superhero had their own connection with Y/N and adored her. Batman and Captain America were like father figures while Black Widow, Mera, and Wonder Woman were her mother figures, Furthermore, Aquaman and Thor were her mentors, Starlord, Iron Man, and Superman were like her big brothers, Gamora and Scarlet Witch were like her sisters, and Falcon, Rocket, Groot, Hawkeye, and Drax were her best friends.
There was someone else who fit into Y/N’s life in an entirely different way, though. That was the Hulk, aka Bruce Banner, who Y/N had a growing crush on. Coincidentally, his role in their birthday surprise was to be the distractor. He’d take Y/N out and about, staying as far away as possible from the Avengers Tower, while the other superheroes set up.
As expected, the planning hardly went smoothly.
Tony and Barry got into another confrontation, this time over Y/N’s choice of music (which went on until Mera and Wanda butted in with the music Y/N actually enjoyed), Arthur began to get on Natasha’s last nerves, and Rocket almost started eating her cake . . . and that was only a bit of what happened in the first half of the day.
Meanwhile, Bruce kept Y/N occupied. He took her out to her favorite breakfast place and breakfast was on him and then they filled the day at a carnival park. Bruce happily accompanied her on all the rides she wanted to go on (despite almost Hulking out multiple times) and even won Y/N some stuffed animals by throwing rings. He even got her lots and lots of cotton candy and then let her ride on his back when she got a stomach ache. All in all, though, it was a fun time. So fun that Bruce almost forgot that they had a party to get to!
Which is exactly why he frantically texted the groupchat that they were on their way and had to practically drag Y/N away from wanting to go on the ferris wheel for the third time. When confronted with questions, the lie that there was an emergency mission slipped off the brunette’s tongue -- probably not the smartest lie because Y/N had declared weeks before that if there were any missions on the week of her birthday, she wasn’t going -- but it worked long enough to keep her distracted, even if she was too busy with pouting and grumbling.
As they got closer and closer, Bruce could barely contain his excitement. Not only had he had a fantastic game, he was about to spend the night partying with the woman he had a crush on and celebrating her birthday. Who knows - maybe he’d even ask her out?!
When they got there, Y/N was ready to march inside and suit up, but Bruce tugging on her arm made her stop. Ignoring her endless questions and cries of frustration, he took his time leading her through the tower and into the backyard so the superheroes would have time to hide. Bruce let Y/N go before him and the moment she opened the doors, everyone jumped out wearing party hats and yelled: “SURPRISE!”
To say she was surprised would be a total understatement. In fact, she was so surprised that she stumbled back, directly into the scientist, and with his quick reflexes he steadied her and lightly nudged her forward and out of her shocked state. She had let out the biggest gasp that any of them had ever heard, her eyes went wide, and her hands flew over her mouth.
Slowly, she walked forward, overwhelmed by the sight before her. Not only were all her teammates - her friends, even family - together, but the place looked amazing. There were streamers, a big sign saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY, balloons, even a fake throne that Tony and Bruce had constructed earlier that week!
“Oh-oh my god, you guys . . . Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She cried out, jumping up and down.
Everyone smiled. “Of course, sweetheart,” Arthur said.
“Go sit on your throne - presents are up first!” Tony added.
Y/N immediately ran and jumped onto the big throne.
“Aren’t presents supposed to be last or something?” Clint muttered to Steve as they walked over.
“Yeah, but Tony keeps boasting on how good his present is,” Steve replied.
Everyone mingled on over there and Tony presented his birthday present, which was definitely over-wrapped, first. After the squeals she emitted, the others were next. Everyone had gotten her their own birthday present, but Arthur and Mera went over the top when they joined together with their powers to make Y/N something super special.
Afterwards, they spent the rest of the time absolutely PARTYING! They had a dance contest which JARVIS was the judge of and Y/N won, but the next round Y/N co-judged with JARVIS and they determined that Rocket and Barry were tied for first place, Peter and Clint tied for second place, and Bruce got third place. Then, they moved onto playing games (Y/N and Bruce teamed up and they CRUSHED everyone else, because they already had experience working together at the carnival that day) and finally, it was time for cake. Y/N got the biggest piece and, of course, Rocket and Arthur fought over the cake (Groot smacked them).
They partied until the sun came up, where everyone either fell asleep or had someone fall asleep on them. In the morning, everyone awoke, only to see Y/N still asleep, her head resting on Bruce’s shoulder and a blanket wrapped around them both. It was the most adorable sight they had ever witnessed and Bruce carried her to bed while Natasha took her shoes off. The superheroes left her to sleep in and she came downstairs a couple hours later, a breakfast full of waffles, pancakes, anything you could imagine waiting for her.

I Found
pairing: Loki Laufeyson x Reader
summary: when loki returns from ragnarok, he doesn't feel welcome and doesn't trust anyone. he's scared to, until he meets you.
warnings: self-confidence issues from loki, kissing, fluff
word count: 1.2k
a/n: my first loki fic!! sorry this celebration is taking like ten years...
it had been about six years since the attack on new york. since you met loki. though you hadn't seen much of him to start with, you knew he wasn't evil. he wasn't bad or had ill intentions. he was slightly greedy when you first spoke with him on the quinjet all those years ago, but he had changed.
he and thor had just come back from wherever in god's name they had been, some place called ragnarok. returned from building a new home for their people and eventually making their way back to new york to make amends with everyone there.
when loki first entered the avengers compound, he felt small despite being a frost giant. thor was welcomed with open arms as everyone shunned him. it was to be expected, and he couldn't say he didn't deserve it. loki was used to thor being favored.
but then he saw you. a bright, bubbling energy who immediately took a liking to him. he couldn't imagine why when he walked into the place with a harsh scowl. "hi! loki, i'm y/n. we met briefly a couple years ago, but i doubt you remember me." vaugly, though he wishes he could recall more.
loki remembered a sweet smiling face coming to visit him one evening when he was deep in his thoughts. the energy from you and from before felt the same, so he assumed. he took your outstretched hand and shook it lightly, your grip tight and confident around his fingers. you led him away from the group of judging avengers and into the kitchen where there sat a pleathora of food.
"i made a feast, but i'll let you have first dibs." he hadn't noticed how hungry he really was, his stomach answering for him before he could get a word out. you didn't say anything, a light and beautiful laugh escaping your lips as you sat loki down in a chair and placed a plate in front of him.
loki looked up at you with big eyes before you gestured for him to dig in. he did, and he was thankful for the peace you brought with your presence and attention to his favored foods, though he was sure you didn't know and were just making things that you liked to cook. that thought alone made the god's heart swell as he chomped on his food like a starved man.
--
over the course of a couple of months in the time that loki had been staying at the compound, he found himself noticing you more than he probably should've. taking special note of the way you pinched your bottom lip when you were reading. how you twirled a piece of your hair when you were bored at the mandatory meetings steve had hosted.
you two had opened up to each other, you more than loki, but that didn't bother you one bit. you figured he would do the same, in time. loki appreciated how you acted around him. normal, not like he was going to blow up the city again. you looked at him with purpose and intent on listening to whatever he had to say, smiling when he did say eventually say something. you treated him like a person. not a prisoner or a younger brother. like he mattered, which was a first for loki.
one evening when you two were sharing the space of your room. you lying on your bed and loki sat on your floor, your hand combing through his long raven locks as he read to you softly. that was another thing loki wasn't used to. the intimacy in the bond he had with you. the soft touches, the lingering stares, and the blushing smiles. he knew it was something more, and he hoped you had too because he wasn't sure he felt this way about another person in a long time. it scared him.
getting lost in his thoughts and the feeling of your hand against his head, you tapped his scalp, making him tilt his head back to look at you, piercing your soul with his blue eyes. your breath hitched, but still you smiled at the man. "why'd you stop?" you ask him about the reading that had faded out.
loki looked down and shut the book after marking the page, setting it aside and turning to face you fully. you patted the spot on the bed in front of you, instructing him to sit which he gladly took the open invitation. his legs crossed underneath his tall frame as he took a deep breath. your hand found his, sensing the hesitation in his words. he was both thankful and uncertain about your hand on his, but you had always managed to calm him down, in some way.
your gentle eyes looked into his and it eased his worries as he began his speech. "can i tell you something?" you, of course, nodded without question. the man was safe with you and could talk to you about anything he wanted, good and bad, which you reminded him of daily.
with another sigh, loki got to his point, focusing on the comfort your warm hand brought to his cool skin. "relationships are built on trust, right?" pondering his question for a moment, you nod, a smile crossing your features as he exhaled and continued.
"well, i trust you more than anyone here." loki's words opened a door in your heart you were trying to keep shut for so long. your body finding the strength to rise from it's place on the bed without instruction. you led your hands up slowly to loki's face, his strong jaw and peaked cheekbones stood firm under your thumbs as the god sunk underneath your touch.
your fingers traced over his face with the upmost of care, taking in each and every detail as if you were memorizing it. your bodies had leaned into one another like a magnet drawn to it's partner, unable to be restrained from the other. so when your lips brushed over loki's as you spoke, he knew he was safe. he could trust you, and most of all, he loved you. "thank you for trusting me." you said softly, so only you and he could process the words being said. with only a short nod, he responded, his tongue darting out to coat his lips in a light sheen of spit.
loki's eyes traveled down to your own mouth, a slight smirk tugging at his as you were now practically in his lap. his hands stayed hovering over your sides, afraid to commit. "may i?" was all he needed to ask to get you nodding and placing your forehead against his, your lips finally touching and igniting more fireworks than loki could even imagine or conjure up. more butterflies than he produced for you one day just to see you dancing in the middle of it all. and when you two finally pulled away for air, simply due to the laws of physics, he could've sworn he was still dreaming.
but he wasn't, because here you were. in front of him, his hands on your waist and your arms wrapped around his neck. a smile playing on your lips as you leaned in for another peck to his already reddened lips. it was better than heaven, because it was just you two. and that's all loki could ask for plus more ever since he set foot on midgard. maybe it wasn't all that bad, after all, he had you.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this, but I may as well.
I keep starting to reply to things and then stopping bc the words just aren't there, and I suppose I figured out the core of what bothers me so much (and is making me have such a rollercoaster of a fan experience) about the show.
(cut for length)
It's not well-written. My opinion is my opinion, so I'm saying this subjectively, take it or leave it, but ... I feel that it's not well-written. The overall story is fine, and the plot is fine, but I don't know if it's because of the limited number of episodes not being enough to house the story, or because of the relative inexperience of the writer/showrunner+director, or both, or something else, but -
In an earlier reaction post to episode 4, I mentioned really wanting to sink my teeth into all of the subtext I picked up on. That was what made me initially enjoy the episode so much - there were a lot of little moments that I initially felt revealed so much about the characters and about Loki, and I wanted to analyze them. But at some point, as I gathered more information, my perspective changed and now I no longer want to analyze the subtext bc ... subtext = good. Subtext w/out payoff = not as good.
I'll go into more detail in a moment, but I think the tl;dr of it is that I feel like the narrative requires the audience to work way too hard to put together all of the moving pieces here and, like, I kinda just don't want to do that work? Not so much of it, and not in vain. A lot of the enjoyment of Loki's characterization is coming from fans who are rationalizing why he's behaving as he is, but the narrative never actually confirms those rationalizations. It's asking us to figure it out and maybe our conclusions will be correct but maybe they won't, though. At some point, subtext isn't enough without explicit follow-through.
I thought my issue was with the lack of character development - that is, not having enough narrative space to really earn the big things that are happening now, like Loki/Sylvie or Mobius turning against the TVA. And that's still true, to an extent; I still feel like the pacing is all very off and it seems like most of these things kinda came out of nowhere (but are not unbelievable - just undeveloped).
But, yknow, it is what it is, it's a limited series, and I can excuse some things. Ultimately, my issue isn't a problem with what the narrative isn't doing, it's a problem with what the narrative already failed to do and probably cannot recover from at this point.
The narrative has left out significant details that should at least help us do some of the work here. If a person turned on Loki and started episode 1 and had no background knowledge of the character besides that he tried to take over New York - how would that person interpret Loki? Would that person say, oh, well, he's been through X, Y, and Z, and plus A happened, not to mention B, C, and D, so really, it makes sense that he seems off-the-rails, or that he'd want to get ridiculously drunk at the worst time ever.
Maybe we'd like to believe they would, but how would they be getting to that conclusion? The narrative hasn't led them in that direction so, no, they would not say well we have to consider this, this, and that. It would be impossible to really understand Loki as a character from just what we've gotten in the series. The general audience would probably interpret Loki as being out of his element and so it becomes, I wonder how this character is going to get the upper hand here. And, while that's not wrong, it's just so limited.
The narrative at face value does not address Loki's identity crisis from Thor 2011. It does not address his hurt and devastation at being lied to, nor does it address how complicated his self-image is (bc it sucked to begin with and that was before he found out he was part of a race of "monsters," as he'd been taught his entire life). It does not reference Loki being so broken at the end of Thor 2011 that he deliberately let himself fall into the void of space (aka tried to kill himself). It does not reference that he was tortured by Thanos or even that he went through a seriously dark time in between Thor and Avengers, and it absolutely does not reference or address any influence or control of the mind stone.
These are all things that we, the fan audience, know because we've already invested our time into this character's story. But tons of people, the general audience, wouldn't know these things. Or if they did, bc they saw Thor and Avengers, they wouldn't be thinking about them as deeply as we would, nor contextualizing them with how Loki is behaving now, or why it would make sense that he needed to get drunk, or why it's understandable that he needs to keep going-going-going in order to not have a spare second to think or feel.
They'd probably look at Loki, again, as a character who was a villain and is now getting his comeuppance in a place where he has no power or control, and no literal powers, and even when he manages to escape and catch up to the variant, he proceeds to fuck up their plan for seemingly no real reason except that he wanted to get drunk bc he's hedonistic. Which Sylvie even berates him for! I mean. This is not exactly a complex character breakdown, nor a very flattering one, but that's what the narrative has given us.
(If the narrative has addressed Loki's mind control, his torture, his mental breakdown, his suicide attempt, and his general shitty self-esteem as a result of his upbringing, please point it out to me. If the narrative has explicitly acknowledged and referenced these things anywhere and I am missing it, please show me where. Please explain to me how the casual viewer would know any of these things that they need to know in order to actually understand what's happening in this story.)
So I mean, okay, we have a narrative that doesn't paint a full, accurate picture of Loki. Fine, sure. But because the general audience starts out on the wrong footing, they're not going to get out of the overall story what the writers probably intended them to. For example, in episode 3, a lot of us theorized that Loki had some kind of plan - that he broke the timepad on purpose, for some reason, bc otherwise it wasn't believable that he'd be such a failure. But episode 4 revealed that no, there was no bigger plan, Loki just plain old messed up. Which is fine if, again, one is only considering the surface-level portrayal here, but it's not true to Loki's actual characterization.
I mean. Loki is not perfect and Loki actually fails a lot, this is true. He fails for a lot of reasons, but incompetence has never been one of them. Usually it's that either things grew beyond his control, or there ended up being too many moving parts, or he had to change his plan at the last minute due to some roadblock or another being thrown his way, or even that he got in his own way - whatever the case may be for his plans' failures, he was always at least shown to know what he was doing.
That wasn't the case here. The "plan" to fix the Timepad failed as a direct result of Loki's actions, which were careless and made him seem incompetent, like he couldn't even handle this mission. "You had one job," etc. And there were pretty big consequences for this; they were not able to get off-world in time and would have been killed had the TVA not shown up at the last second.
And maybe none of these things matter bc the writers never intended any of this to be a reflection on Loki's character, positive or negative. The situation exists solely because the writers needed to put Loki and Sylvie together in some kind of hopeless scenario so that they could get closer, and thus the narrative could set up their romance. I get that - but, there were other ways to do it that didn't require Loki to look foolish.
Furthermore, the whole reason they needed to set up the romance is to show Loki eventually learning to love himself (like, figuratively but also literally). The audience is supposed to gather that Loki and Sylvie fell for one another, possibly due to the high emotional aspect of, yknow, being about to die (in addition to the variant-bond). The intent is clear: Loki and Sylvie almost die but get rescued at the last minute, having now created an emotional bond --> Loki and Sylvie team up and the narrative further establishes that Loki, at least, has caught feelings --> Loki might confess them but is pruned before he gets the chance --> he somehow survives, he and Sylvie are reunited and don't want to lose one another again, and the combined power of their love is enough to break the sacred timeline and spawn the multiverse, and the reason that the power of their love is so, well, powerful is because it's about self-love and self-acceptance as much as it is about having the capacity to love someone else. The end.
I get all that. The writers more or less said all that. And, I mean, it's certainly not the way I would have chosen to go about it, but it's a fair enough arc to explore. I don't really have an issue with the intent - but my question, however, is this: if the narrative has so far not addressed Loki's background issues (as outlined above), and has furthermore kinda gone out of its way to portray Loki as hedonistic and narcissistic, among other things (like kinda incompetent), and the context the audience starts with is that Loki's this villain who deserves what he gets -
- my question is 1, why should the audience care whether or not Loki gets to a point of loving and accepting himself (thus to make the theme of self-love, via the romance, hold weight) if they don't know that he hates himself to begin with and 2, why should the audience root for Loki to reach that point when so far the perception of him is that he's "kind of an asshole"? if he's a hedonistic narcissist, he probably already has a pretty inflated sense of himself, right? A misplaced inflated sense of himself, at that, because, again, the narrative has made him out to be not that capable of much of anything. (And it didn't start out that way! It seemed to start out with Loki being capable and intelligent but it's like episode 3, in trying to set up the romance, just jumbled it all up somewhere. I think this is why I'm harping on the Loki/Sylvie aspect so much - it's frustrating bc it kinda messes up the whole story and can't even accomplish what it's supposed to anyway.)
Anyway, that's beside the point. What I'm ultimately getting at is, at what point is the audience supposed to get invested in Loki's personal growth journey?
They can't, not really. Without understanding and having the context of everything Loki has been through up until now, and why he hates himself, and why it's so important that he learn to love himself, then the "payoff" becomes kinda pointless bc the significance of it is lost in translation. So suddenly we're left with this romance that comes off as either "Loki loves Sylvie bc of Reasons" (best-case scenario) or "Loki loves Sylvie bc he's vain, narcissistic, and kinda twisted" (worst-case scenario). Neither of these conclusions are what the writers intended or were going for, I'm positive, but there we are, regardless.
In order for the writers' intent in these storylines to land, they need to address the context of what makes these particular stakes high for Loki. So far, they haven't done that. They're asking the audience to pick up on all of these things, and they're showing things that subtextually make sense and are relatively in-character - but only if you realize there's subtext in the first place.
But you can't expect the audience to do all of the work for you. If you don't want the audience to think that Loki is a narcissistic asshole and instead you are trying to convey that, worst-case scenario, he thinks he's a narcissist but is an unreliable narrator, then you have to address that. If you need the audience to understand why you're going the selfcest route and why it's important to explore Loki's capacity to love himself and others, you have to address where that exploration is starting from and why it matters. Etc etc etc.
The narrative isn't doing any of that. And it isn't like it'd be that hard to do it. They don't need to reinvent the wheel here; a lot of the pieces are already there. A few lines of dialogue for context, a brief scene here or there addressing the issues, a little more care and consistency in how Loki handles things - these are all little things that could go a long fucking way in making the narrative stronger.
I'm rambling. My basic point is that my rollercoaster of emotions with this show is because
- as a part of the fan audience, not the general one, I can contextualize and analyze the subtext and come to the conclusions the show wants me to, and thus find the story and the characters more or less enjoyable,
- but I am also going to be using the subtext to come to conclusions that aren't there but probably should be (I think it would be a better story, for example, for Loki to confuse platonic love with romantic love bc it would pave the way to explore just how fucked up Loki's understanding of love - whether of other people or of himself, and the different forms it can take - actually is)
- and when they're ultimately not there, then I think, okay why am I bothering doing all this work just to ultimately feel very unfulfilled? They don't even have to write it the way I would, I'm not saying that, but they do have to do something to make the story feel rewarding.
If we don't get some confirmation of what Loki's been through, and where his headspace is, and why it matters for him to love himself, then the story remains pretty shallow and, for me, it's not fulfilling enough. It's not engaging enough. There isn't actually anything to sink my teeth into, so it becomes kind of boring. Maybe it's rewarding to other people, and that's great for them, but like - I need more than whatever this is.
So I'm just like - well, I had a lot of worries about this show, but my being bored wasn't one of them and now there's only two episodes left and am I really not going to get anything out of this, in the long run? No new canons, no new depths or layers, no new information on Loki's experiences? This is it?
I don't dislike it. I didn't start out disliking it, and I probably wont end up disliking it. I mean, there are a lot of good moments, and good things, and fan service-y things that I appreciate. As far as inspiration for fic goes, it's a goldmine, both plot-wise as well as aesthetic-wise. All of that is great. I don't dislike this show.
But I am disappointed in it, and I feel like I'll be watching the next two episodes lacking the sense of anticipation that would make it exciting. I'll still enjoy them, probably, if for nothing else just the sheer Loki content, but whatever it was I felt watching episodes 1 and 2 is gone and I'm sad about that, too. Because I really wanted to feel fulfilled by this series; I wanted it to fill up the void that Loki's death in IW created three years ago. And I just ... don't feel it. Maybe, maybe that'll change over the course of episodes 5 and 6. I don't know.
Everything that I end up enjoying long-term, I think, will come about as a result of my own interpretations and analysis and while theoretically there's nothing wrong with that, if I had known all I'd get out of this series was more headcanons or support for my current headcanons then, well - that's fine, I suppose, but I'll definitely a little bit robbed.

As days stretched on, Loki slowly became more closed off. His smile never quite reached his eyes like before, and his laughter felt hollow. You tried to ask, however he would quickly change the subject and you finally decided after so many attempts to drop it. If he wished to tell you then he will eventually. Thankfully, he did.
“Thor has been named the new King of Asgard,” Loki muttered softly.
The two of you sat on a blanket on the edge of the decaying forest underneath the scraggly trees. The food Loki brought was hardly touched and you carried the conversation telling stories of your time in Hel. But, it finally spilled out. The one thing that has been bothering Loki for days.
“It is not official,” he continued. “But, our father declared it a week ago and the ceremony will be soon.”
You cocked your head. “Are you not happy for your brother?”
“Happy? Am I happy for that buffoon who will run Asgard into the ground?”
Your lips thinned. Loki may say he doesn’t love Thor, but you weren’t blinded nor persuaded by his lies. It was simple even from your first encounters with him: Loki cared for Thor deeply. They had a brotherly bond that cannot be broken. “Loki,” you whispered.
He huffed knowing that tone. “I … I don’t know.”
You reached over and grabbed his hand giving it a gentle squeeze. He stared down at your hands as a soft smile tugged on the corner of his lips. Your leather gloves softly intertwined with his calloused palm. He never asked about your gloves and he didn’t care to. Maybe during those first visits his mind itched to know, but now he saw it as a piece of you. Nothing odd about it. When or if you will tell him, it was your decision alone.
Loki sighed as your calming presence uplifted him. “Thor is reckless, and our father doesn’t wish to see it. Thor is the firstborn so he was always destined for the crown. Our father would always say either of us could have it, but it never felt true. And now? It seemed that feeling was correct. It was always Thor. How was I so blind before? Thor is more loved, he is the golden haired prince who defends the crown and his people with his life. Thor who can easily entertain the crowd. He is the sun, and I could never compete with such a force.”
With your freehand, you guided Loki’s head to rest on your shoulder. Your cheek laid against the top of his head while your hand stayed on his cheek rubbing soothing circles. He exhaled loudly burying his face further into your shoulder. You always had a way for knowing when he was in pain and how to comfort him.
“Can I say something?” You whispered into his hair. “I hope you do not take offense to it.”
“Say whatever you please.”
“Promise you won’t sow my mouth shut, or string me up and have venom drip onto my face?” You teased.
Loki chuckled. “I promise no harm will come to you.”
“There is a Midgardian saying: ‘you are comparing apples to oranges’.” You ran your fingers through his slightly curled hair. “Simply, you shouldn’t compare yourself to your brother. He is his own person and so are you. Each of you have your own strengths and weaknesses. Sure, the sun is mighty and beautiful and gives light and warmth to all, but the moon is also majestic in its own way. The moon gives light to a new life, and tells others to rest. You are more than a thing in the shadow, Loki.”
He stayed silent as your words tossed around his head.
“And if you have any grievances with him becoming king then talk to Odin. And if he does not listen then make him listen,” you finished.
Hopefully, Odin will listen to his own blood more.
Loki pulled away staring off in deep thought. A plan formed in his conniving mind. If Odin doesn’t listen, he may have a way to show him of Thor’s reckless behavior and how he was currently unfit for the role. You were right. The moon has talents the sun may never know. Maybe it was time to show the others the full extent of his gifts.
All in for the name of Asgard and his brother.
You watched as wheels turned in his mind. His eyes were far more determined than seconds ago. No longer did he sulk, he had a mission laid out before him. When his eyes landed back on you, a smile grew on his lips the more he stared at you. Cupping your face, he planted a soft kiss on your lips. He pulled away tantalizingly slow as if almost pained him.
“You are the best thing to come into my life,” he confessed.
You smiled, “And here I was going to say the same.”
He laughed before showering you in more kisses.
Who knew this was to be the last peaceful, loving, moment before it all changed.
Loki didn’t return for a few days.
You initially brushed it off, he was a prince with his duties. He couldn’t always come to visit you. However as the seconds ticked by and without the familiar whirl of the portal, your worries festered.
What happened? Is he okay? Did the ceremony happen? Where is he? Is he okay? Did I say something? Is he hurt? Is –
The portal crackled to life bathing the bleak world in a flash of light. You instantly darted over to see Loki pacing back and forth. His hands ran through his hair almost ready to tear it out. Soft sniffles echoed in the quiet space.
You paused a few feet away confused at his demeanor, “Loki?”
His head snapped looking at you. His beautiful spring day eyes were rimmed red. Immediately, you rushed forward, but when you got close he backed away from you.
You froze. “Loki, what –“
“Odin lied to me,” he stated as his voice cracked at the end.
“What do you mean? How?”
“I – I, I’m not –“ he huffed, turning his back to you. How can I ever face them?
“What are you not?” You asked, taking a cautionary step forward.
He said nothing, only biting the inside of his cheek to stop the insistent tears.
You stood next to him. Slightly hunched over, he kept his gaze directly on the ground unable to look at you. Tears fell freely dotting the dry ground. Carefully, you touched his back. He flinched at the contact. He whipped his head looking at you. His puffy eyes and frown tore away a piece of your heart. “Can you change fate?” he asked.
You blinked completely stunned.
When you didn’t answer quickly enough, Loki huffed, “Of course, you can’t.”
Ignoring his comment, you simply asked, “Loki, what happened?”
He sniffled. Pushing up his sleeve, all he saw was his skin. His fingers grazed over his forearm. It was a normal shade, not blue. Not that damn blue. “I’m not Asgardian,” he revealed. “I’m a Frost Giant. The unwanted child of Laufey found by Odin.”
Your heart broke for Loki. He didn’t deserve that.
You were about to pull him into a hug when he shrugged you off and marched away. Anger from early made a resurgence. He began to mumble to himself. He feverishly rubbed at his skin almost ready to scratch and tear at the damned thing that ruined everything.
Damn Thor. Him and his idiotic plan. His reckless plan and – His ramped thoughts silenced at a new creeping voice from the dark depths of his mind. Was it not your plan to bring the Frost Giants into Asgard? Did you not start all of this? You did this. You pulled at the thread, you wanted to prove yourself and show others the truth of Thor. This is your doing, not his.
“You must calm yourself, Loki,” you said stepping forward watching as he scratched at his skin. Reds hatch marks dug into his pale skin as if a beast clawed at him.
“Calm myself? My whole life has been a lie! I am the monster parents tell their children about!”
You jerked back giving him the space as he started pace back and forth.
He huffed trying to understand where in his life it all went wrong. It only clicked later that it was always wrong. He wasn’t Asgardian, and his destiny was never the throne. It was to be a bargaining piece. A way to unite the Jotuns and Asgardians. His life was decided before he had the chance to stop it.
Your eyes slid over the top of his head. The name Odinson vanished leaving Laufeyson in its place. You also noticed how the dates didn’t switch through multiple dates, but only a few. It appeared to be only three. The fates were now knowing what part he should play in the universe.
Can you change fate?
No, I can only watch.
You frowned.
Walking over to him, you stood in his path. Your hands rested on his shoulders stopping him in place. Silent tears continued to fall. Carefully, you wiped them away and cupped his cheeks. He sighed and relaxed into your touch. He let himself have this moment.
He buried his face into your glove and muttered, “If only we could run way.”
You exhaled deeply shaking your head. “We can’t do that.”
“Why not?” His eyes connected with yours.
I should have told you sooner, and I’m sorry you had to learn this way.
“Loki, I’m bound here. If I leave then I will surely parish. Hel is the one keeping me alive.”
And only barely.
“How? Why?”
“It’s … complicated.”
“Are you certain?” He was desperate to leave his life behind. The offhanded comment was taking root in his mind, it was his only solution he saw before him.
“Loki –“
“I don’t want to be alone.”
His voice cracked.
Oh, how you wished you could give him everything. Bringing his face close, you gently kissed his forehead and whispered, “I am so sorry.”
You stepped back and pulled off your gloves. The leather gloves thumped onto the ground leaving miniature dust clouds in its wake. Loki’s eyes were on the gloves at first watching the dust swirl and float upward into the air, and as the dust climbed higher his gaze wandered with it until his eyes landed on your hands. You offered them out to him almost like a beggar asking for change.
His eyes widened.
Your hands were stripped down to its skeleton. No skin, no tendons, and no muscles. The starch white bone shone like a beacon in the grey world. Hesitantly, he touched your hands. It was cold, and slightly unnerving. It was also dry and hard, all of it a complete opposite of his own. His fingers intertwined with your thin bones. He worried that if he squeezed too hard they would crumble away.
“How?” He whispered keeping his gaze on your hands.
“I do not know,” you began. “I wasn’t always like this, but it slowly started to happen. It started with my fingertips, down to my fingers, and now it is both of my whole hands. And I don’t know if it will stop or consume me. I just know deep within me that if I were to leave Hel then I would die, become simple dust in the wind.”
Loki shook his head. “There must be some magic, some –“
“No, there isn’t. No magic can surpass a place – an entity – in charge of souls. Hel is keeping me alive in order to help, but it comes at a cost. Maybe it’ll only take my hands, or maybe I’ll be completely bones one day.”
“It’s not fair,” he whispered.
“I know.”
His gaze stayed locked on your unique hands. The soft pads of his thumbs mindlessly rubbed the knuckle of your bones trying to understand it all. He didn’t have much in his life, nor did he truly expect much, but once he went seeking for something it was all taken away. He didn’t want to go back. He especially didn’t want to face his father.
His heart clenched.
Odin. Odin who fell into a deep sleep with no signs of waking. And Thor. Thor who was casted out to Midgard with no way of returning. All he had was himself, his mother, and you. But, now, it seemed he didn’t even have you anymore.
“I should just stay here,” he mumbled to himself. Another random thought that spilled out.
You shook your head, “Loki, you cannot hide.”
“Why not?” He looked at you. “Why can’t I hide? What does my life offer? I have nothing.”
I am nothing. He bitterly thought.
“Loki, you –“
“Odin lied to me. My mother – Frigga – isn’t even my own mother. My true father would have let me rot in the cold. And Thor … well, we never were the closest anyway.”
You should have said something. You should have eased his mind, should have told him how much you loved him, should have, should have - But, instead your curiosity got the better of you. You had to know. Your eyes darted up above his head. Two dates now flickered back and forth. Fates were finishing up their magic.
“What are you staring at?” He asked. He glanced above his head to see nothing.
“It’s nothing,” you lied.
“No, it’s not. You may think I don’t notice, but I do. You always peer above my head as if some answer lay above there.”
“Loki, please, don’t worry about it.”
He yanked his hands away and recoiled from you. You reached out to him, but he swatted your hand away. “What are you hiding from me?”
“I am not hiding anything.”
“You are! Do not lie to me too.”
Your bottom lip trembled. You didn’t want it to end like this.
“Above every soul, I can see information about them.” You sighed as you finally let out the truth. “Name, birthdate, and … and the day of their death and how they die.”
He said nothing. His face gave you no indication of what he thought.
“I have encountered a few souls that were still with the living and most of them already had their death written above them. But, with you it’s always changing.”
“And what does it say now?”
You watched the two dates flip back and forth. “I cannot tell. There is too many dates still.”
Loki cocked his head and narrowed his eyes. “Would you tell me if you did know?”
You looked into his eyes, those beautiful blue eyes. “No.”
He scoffed.
“Please, Loki, I wouldn’t want to burden you with it. Some say they would want to know but it’s not the knowledge they seek. Once someone learns of their death, they stop living. They only count down the days in fear or maybe they get the notion that they can try to change their fate, but you can’t. The Fates weave everyone’s destiny and you simply cannot fight that.”
Loki gritted his teeth. “Odin said my destiny was to die on that rock. He said that was my destiny and that he was the one to change it.”
“He’s wrong. Fates brought him there, to the Jotuns, they orchestrated it all. From the grand battle down to the small detail of you on what seemed to be an insignificant rock near a battlefield. He may say otherwise, but the All Father is not that powerful.”
“So my fate is to be a pawn? A bartering piece?”
“I do not know … I would like to think not.” You are so much more than that.
He huffed turning away from you. “You speak of fate and destiny but you know nothing of it. You are as clueless as those wandering souls.”
“Loki, pleases, I do not want to -”
“Do not speak to me,” he hissed.
You clamped your mouth shut.
“Unless you are going to help me, then say nothing else.”
In that moment all he wanted was for you to tell him to stay here, for the two of you to stay in Hel living your lives however you pleased. He didn’t care if he could possibly turn to bone or dust, he would happily accept that than to go back to his miserable life. Odd, he thought, how Hel offered him more.
You wanted to run to him, to soothe away his worries, but you wouldn’t. Couldn’t. You would never tempt the Fates once again. You learned that long ago.
“Please, he was - is! He is the love of my life!” A woman cried out. She collapsed down in front of you gripping the edge of your cloak. Her eyes filled with enough tears and sorrow to drown Hel’s desert landscape ten times over. “Please! I am begging you to return him to me. He’s a kind man who was taken too soon.”
You were naive still then. Your heart easily swayed by tears and stories.
How long has it been since you first arrived in Hel, a decade? Maybe longer? A century? It didn’t matter, what did matter was that this was your first visitor and you didn’t know how to respond. Your mind told you of the rules, the rules Hel implanted into your head the day you set foot on the barren grounds. However, your heart crumbled at the sight of the woman on her knees. How could you say no? Or how could you say no now after she relayed her story?
“Please,” she dropped her head. Her next words muttered in between sobs, “I am with child. His child.”
You frowned. Your eyes locked onto the letters and number above her head. She had many more years to live and she would die of old age. It was a beautiful life to live. Yet, she couldn’t do it without him. Or so she said so.
Fates doomed her to a lonely life raising a child alone.
“I will try,” you whispered. You crouched down to the woman’s level. She looked up with a new life sparked inside them, although she couldn’t see your face she felt at ease staring into the void under the hood. You reached out. Your hand, bare and soft without any signs of deterioration, gently caressed her face wiping away the tears. “I will try my best to get him back for you. Now please return back home, he will be there tonight. I will make sure of it, I promise.”
You pointed to a crack on the side of the hill filled with crystals embedded into the walls. The woman nodded feverishly and scrambled up to her feet. She darted through and instantly the blinding light casted over you and the lands before vanishing along with the woman.
You couldn’t keep your promise.
You tried to conjure a door to the other side, you tried to sneak the soul out, you tried to take him to his wife and soon to be child, but it was all for not.
Hel stopped you.
The instant you tried to step out of the other side with a soul in tow, Hel warped you away and sealed the doorway keeping the soul where it should be. You ended up in a cave with no entrance or exit. It should be pitch black, but in the center of the circular room was a well. The water from within glowed a soft white light. Hesitantly you stepped forth and peered inside the stone well. Looking in, you saw the woman who just left. She paced anxiously in her cottage. A hand cupped her stomach where life began to form.
“You cannot interfere with their fates.”
You jumped back at not just one, but three voices speaking in unison. Stepping out of the shadows were three cloaked figures. You opened your mouth to speak, but you found you couldn’t: unable to explain yourself or ask who they were.
“We know where they go and what they are destined for,” they said. “Change is impossible.”
Fear trickled down your spine. It finally dawned on you who they were. Urd, Verdanadi, and Skuld, they were the Norns - the Fates.
“You are fighting against a raging tide, little asgardian,” one said. The figure poked the water. Slowly, a stream of water floated into the air creating a mirror peering into this woman’s life. It was morning now, and she sat hunched over at her table in tears again. Her love would not return.
“Some suffer, some thrive. Some are destined for greatness, some never make a ripple in the pond of life” A different figure tapped the water changing the image. The woman was now sporting a full belly. “But it all ends the same.”
The last figure tapped the water and the scene changed to the woman surrounded by two different women encouraging her to push. The woman screamed out in pain and she tried to birth her newborn into this world.
“Death,” the last figure stated. The newborn came into the world stillborn.
You sank to your knees as your heart ached for the woman.
“This is punishment for you,” they spoke in unison again. “Hel has agreed as well. You will spend your days for now watching over this woman’s life until her time is up.”
You stared up with teary eyes as the figures began to retreat. “This is how it is, and no one can change it, little asgardian and new guardian of Hel.” Their words were the last and only words you ever heard from the Fates again.
When the woman finally died, you were let out of the cave. She appeared before you as all the other souls before with a rush of wind and forming an outline. You kept your head bowed when you approached her. You silently escorted her to the other side.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered before she left through the archway.
She turned to you. “Don’t be.”
“I promised you an impossible task, I gave you false hope.”
“Yes, you did, but you did it because you cared. I put that burden on you when I shouldn't have. Instead I should have dealt with my grief in a different way.”
You muttered still heartbroken for the woman, “I wish you could have had your family.”
“But I do.”
As if on cue, you heard the giggling of a child. Glancing over through the golden archway, you saw a man standing beside a toddler. The woman smiled as tears of joy streamed down her face.
“I shouldn’t have rushed it,” she whispered to herself. “I knew I would see them again.”
She turned to you and reached up cupping your face. The wrinkles she gained through life vanished, yet the wisdom stayed in her eyes. Your hood gently slid back revealing your face to her.
“Oh, how young you look,” she mumbled. She gently held your face as a mother does to comfort their own child. “You have a good heart, don’t let that change, okay?”
You nodded silently stunned by her words.
“Good,” she reached up and kissed your forehead, “learn from your mistakes and grow. I know I did.”
The woman let go of you running to her family now finally together for eternity.
Shocked, you slowly touched the spot where she kissed you. The Fates and Hel punished you, but you truly learned from that woman. Destiny cannot be changed and it is no good to fight it, don’t rush it, and don’t give others false hope.
When you kept silent, Loki nodded understanding. Fresh tears filled his eyes as he marched over to the portal without saying another word to you. You didn’t move from your spot. However, something caught your eye. The date and cause of death finally solidified above Loki’s head. He would die in the years to come in a battle.
Meaning, he would go to Vahalla.
You would never see him again, leaving everything you built together on this sour note unable to change the impossible.
Light blanketed over temporarily blinding you, and as you blinked you were left alone in the dismal place known as Hel. You collapsed to your knees. You almost hoped he wouldn’t go through, hoped he would turn around running into your arms. In that moment, you were that naive child from years ago thinking of all the ways you could change Fate.
Tears streamed down your face.
You doubled over pressing your forehead against the dirt and unleashed a scream from deep within. You screamed damning the Fates. You cursed Hel for giving you this half life, and wished the worst upon Odin for banishing you here. You had nothing before coming here, so you weren’t completely torn with your sentencing, but now? You had something, a chance of normality with Loki, and a yearning you never thought you could experience or understand. Only for it to be taken away.
Screaming and cursing until your throat was raw, until the tears finally dried up, you laid curled up on the ground wishing you could forget Loki altogether.
It would be better. To forget him, forget all those happily pleasant memories that will only bring heartache in the end. Why let live with the pain? Why let those memories leave a gaping hole in your heart?
Because.
Because you loved the pain. It told you that it was real, that Loki truly came here day after day as the two of you slowly fell in love with each other. The pain may be unbearable now, but you will learn to push past the ache and cherish those memories. Because something like that would never happen again.
(Epilogue)
Years passed.
You continued doing your duty. You helped souls to the other side, and told those who did not deserve eternal peace. Whatever Hel needed from you, you did so without question nor resistance.
But when the days were slow? When you had a moment to yourself? You thought back to the dark haired, silver tongued prince. The one your heart still lingered on. You realized that the heartache would never leave, only lessen slightly as time ticked on. You still smiled at the fond memories as you visited old spots remembering his soothing voice, his loving touch, and his sweet words.
The prince who wasn’t given much, only to be forced into a cruel destiny when he deserved the world and more.
You wondered if he was still alive now and then or if he was enjoying his stay in Valhalla. If anything you only wished you could have one last conversation with him so you could apologize and hope to gain his forgiveness.
Wind blew past you as it swirled into a tight circle leading out of the woods. Another soul has ascended.
Sighing, you stood up and pulled your hood over. Floating towards the newest soul, your mind still thought of Loki, so much that when you approached the soul it looked exactly like him, although a bit see through. You paused staring at them in confusion.
The soul turned around facing you.
Your heart skipped in your chest. It wasn’t a trick of the mind, was it?
“Loki?” You hesitantly called out.
The soul smiled widely. It was him. He ran towards you, with every step becoming more and more solid until he crashed into you pulling you into a tight hug. It was as exactly as you remembered: warm. You laughed as tears sprung from your eyes. You wrapped your arms around like you did all those years ago squeezing him with an immeasurable force.
He chuckled then whispered, “I’ve missed you too.”
You pulled away looking at him still trying to comprehend how he was here.
He smiled at you and gently pushed back your hood revealing your face. “Still the same as I remember so fondly.”
“How? How … how are you here? Why - what?”
He chuckled again, that low rumble. “I thought I remembered you being more articulate.”
You smiled through the cascading tears as he gently wiped them away. Finally, he was here in front of you again. You could finally speak all the words left unspoken for years. “I’m so sorry, Norns, I should have -”
“Shhh, it’s okay. Please, don’t apologize for there is no reason to. If anything I should be apologizing to you. Love, I am truly sorry for how I acted back then.”
“There is no need, but if it was what you wish to hear then, apology accepted.” The second you uttered those words a weight lifted off his shoulders. However, you still couldn’t understand how he was here. Your eyes darted up seeing the cause of death. “Why are you here? You should be in Valhalla.”
“I guess you could say I finally changed my fate.”
“Why? Why give up such an honor?”
“Because I have more cause to be here, to be by your side.”
You sniffled. “You are an absolute idiot.”
“Perhaps.” His thumb gently stroked your cheek before his hand fell down to your side grabbing your gloved hand. He raised your hand up and placed a soft kiss on the inside of your palm. “But, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Let those warriors drink and party, I would rather be here with you.”
“But, your family -”
“Understands. My mother was always pulled by heart strings, and my father was proud of me for taking charge of my life.”
“I cannot offer you much unlike Valhalla.”
“You are enough.” He pressed his forehead against yours. “Please, let me stay. A day never went by when you weren’t on my mind. Let me repent for what I did, let me stay. I can even help you if you wish.”
“Loki,” you hummed.
“Yes?”
“I never wanted you to leave. You are more than welcome to stay.”
He smiled and leaned in, capturing your lips. Just as sweet and soft as you remembered. It sent your world into a tizzy. You never imagined he would be here again. You pulled away as he nearly chased after your lips to have another taste.
You sighed enjoying having him in your presence again. “I will be putting you to work,” you teased.
He laughed wholeheartedly, “I happily accept.”

supernatural x mcu crossover
i saw a twitter thread about which supernatural & mcu characters would be friends, so here’s my take:
dean- bucky, steve, nat, clint, carol
Tumblr media
dean would have a massive crush on all these people and experience bi panic whenever he interacts with them.
and he’d probs relate to bucky since they both have trauma from being forced to kill & torture people against their will.
dean’s relationship with carol would kinda be like his relationship with claire, minus the father/daughter dynamic. and he’d admire nat a lot but also be super intimidated by her. obvs him & clint would go drinking together and be a menace to society.
sam- bruce, thor, darcy, rhodes, sam
Tumblr media
sam, bruce, and darcy would bond over nerdy ass shit. and he’d probs have a severe crush on darcy but be extremely awkward around her bc she’s a literal genius. i also feel like he’d have intellectual conversations with rhodes and sam about politics, and discuss stuff that actually matters. we love our human rights activists <3
also you KNOW that holding mjölnir in “What’s Up, Tiger Mommy?” (seriously, writers?) was the highlight of samuel winchester’s entire hunting career, despite having saved the world multiple times. he’d probs secretly have a major fanboy moment when he meets thor.
cas- mantis, vision, mobius, ajak, valkyrie
Tumblr media
cas and mantis’ interactions would consist of no words, no thoughts, just bonding telepathically by putting a finger on each other’s foreheads. he would also relate to vision & mobius, bc all 3 are extraterrestrial beings who have existed outside of time and fell madly in love with humanity (aka dean, loki, and wanda) they would all cry together bc their chaotic lovers are literally the most amazing people on the planet.
he would also relate to ajak bc just like himself, she was a warrior who later rebelled against her creator bc she learned that humans are beautiful beings, and they both have the power to heal!
also him & valkyrie would kick homophobic asses together.
jack- groot, shuri, ned, peter, kate
Tumblr media
imagine all of these teenagers going on a space adventure together in one of shuri’s spaceships. like guardians of the universe but make it gen z. i think jack & groot would be besties, shuri would constantly try to figure out the science behind jack’s powers, & peter would try to show jack nerdy pop culture stuff. also jack would kinda have a small crush on kate but ultimately he just admires her from afar and thinks she’s a badass.
also imagine wholesome moments between jack & ned like pls why can’t this be real
bobby- fury, alexei, phastos, rocket, happy
Tumblr media
imagine phastos, rocket and bobby all talking about engineering and shop. i think they would all build awesome stuff together and try to invent cool things! and fury would remind bobby of rufus bc of his sense of humor. he’d also get along with happy even tho he’d kinda think tony stark is too arrogant, but he’d eventually change his mind after he gets to know happy.
and idk why i think alexei would remind bobby of john winchester. oh wait, it’s bc they’re both questionable fathers who trained their children to become killing machines…
rowena- wanda, dr. strange, agatha, sylvie
Tumblr media
okay, witches assemble. i wouldn’t want to mess with this group of people, i’d rather eat a laptop before crossing them. like uff imagine wanda, agatha, and rowena forming a coven! that’s too much power in one trio. and rowena + dr. strange would make a cute couple imo since they both have questionable morals sometimes. also bc sylvie is also a magical being, i see them teaming up to cause some mischief.
jody & donna- pepper, aunt may, maria hill, hope
Tumblr media
ofcccc the wayward sisters would be besties with all of the women in marvel bc hello, they’re all girl bosses, every single one. but something about them getting along with the moms or mother figures like aunt may, pepper, & hope too bc scott has a daughter.
also bc jody and donna are cops they’d be so impressed by maria hill being a commander in shield, like wow such powerful queens.
crowley- tony, druig, drax
Tumblr media
these 4 give such dom!masc energy, it’s insane. all i can think of is “it’s about DRIVE, it’s about POWER! we stay hungry, we devour!”
but in all seriousness, tony & crowley would compete to see who can respond with the most sarcastic and witty remarks at all times. and technically druig also possesses people’s minds in the same way that demons do so put these 2 in the same room so we can see who’s mentally stronger. also drax would teach crowley fun ways to torture people (or vice versa).
lucifer- loki, kang, deadpool
Tumblr media
the amount of chaos that i envision this group of men causing is just criminal. combine loki & lucifer’s daddy issues and you just have 2 narcissists doing fatherless behavior. kang would look at these men and say “could i interest you in letting y’all rip the fabric of our reality and disturb every universal timeline?” deadpool would go along for the ride just so he can witness the scandal and bc he’s the only person who doesn’t complain every time lucifer decides to kill him.

February 14th
It was the morning of Valentines Day, finally. It felt like it had taken forever to finally arrive. But you found yourself somewhat disappointed that it did. As you lied in your bed, staring up at the ceiling, you couldn’t help the uneasy feeling that had taken over.
No matter how much you loved the Avengers, and how open minded you were trying to be, you knew that there was only one person you had feelings for. One person that you desired your admirer to be above all others. And of course, this one person was the one you probably should not have feelings for, and was the one person who you knew it wouldn’t be.
You knew this, and you knew he was gone again, but you still had a tiny glimmer of hope beneath the disappointment and anxiety. You tried to ignore it, knowing that the longer you held onto that hope, the more disappointed you would be in the end.
Finally getting out of bed and on with your day, you tried your best the shove the anxiety away and out of mind. Not wanting to worry about it until you absolutely had too.
- - -
The rest of the day went by much quicker than you had anticipated, your anxiety was growing as you stood in the elevator with Wanda, Natasha, Clint and Vision on the way up to the party. You eyed the others, your thoughts busy with who it could be. You hadn’t said much to any of them, and you knew that they noticed. You wondered if they knew why, if they understood how you felt.
As you entered into the room, already full of people who had arrived early just the make sure they got in. For the first time you felt a bit comforted, knowing that you could hide among the crowd, distract yourself, well, until you couldn’t.
Quickly parting from the group you walked towards the crowd looking for others you knew that weren’t the Avengers. But before you could get far, you felt someone grab your arm. Turning, you see Natasha, with Clint right behind her.
“What?” you asked, concerned.
“Are you okay?” Clint asked.
You hesitated for a moment “No” you said, your voice quieter than you meant.
Natasha shared a look with Clint before they got closer to you “This is about your admirer right?” You stared at her, nodding lightly “Yeah I thought so.”
“I don’t know if I can handle it anymore Nat. At first it was...sweet and exciting, but...the more I think about it, the more I...” you couldn’t quite put into words what you wanted to say. Would they understand if you told them who you really wanted it to be?
“You can’t picture yourself with any of them can you?” she asked.
“Only one. And they are the least likely.” you admitted.
“Loki” Clint said suddenly you looked at him with surprise.
“How did you know?”
“Oh come on Y/n, I’ve seen the way you are around him, and I’ve seen the way he is around you, your the only one of us he actually likes. Maybe it’s not as unlikely as you think.”
Looking at Nat you could tell form her face that she must have known too, you sighed “He hasn’t even been here. I’ve seen him maybe two times in the last week Clint.”
Clint and Natasha shared a look before Nat spoke “Okay, look, when he showed up with Thor that day you got hurt in the lab, and found what happened. He was angry as hell, and though he didn’t show it, I think he was scared. And, I’m pretty sure he spent a few hours in your hospital room when no one else was around.” she admitted making your heart begin pounding.
“He did?” you asked in surprise “I didn’t even know he knew about what happened.” you thought about it for a moment “But, we are friends, that- it doesn’t mean anything, it still doesn’t change the fact that he hasn’t been around, and he sure as hell isn’t here.”
Nat looked behind you “Maybe he is.”
Turning and following her line of sight, you see Thor entering the room, greeting everyone with a loud and cheerful voice. Your heart started beating in your chest. Did he come too?
Upon seeing you, Thor approached the three of you greeting you all. “Hey Thor, did Loki come?” Clint asked for you.
“Loki?” Thor laughed “Of course not. You know how much he dislikes Tony’s parties” he laughed again.
You looked at Clint and Natasha with a face of ‘I told you so.’ before sighing out “It’s good to see you Thor, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go get something to drink.” you asked before walking away, giving a parting look to Natasha and Clint.
Walking through the crowd, you left the room instead of getting a drink, you just wanted to leave. All you were now was confused. What if Loki liked you? But it still seemed unlikely that he was the one who left the flowers and notes. So what if you would have to choose. Break your admirers heart to be with Loki?
Finding a empty sitting room closed off from the party-goers, you walked over to a large window and stared out at the city. Maybe it was best you weren’t with anyone? Say no to your admirer, and no to Loki. That way there wouldn’t have to be choosing one over another.
You began to think about your relationship with Loki. You started as enemies, and then, when you heard about what happened with the dark elves, and then with Hela and Thanos, you thought he changed. Finally meeting him over a year ago, when you helped Thor and his people find a new home. He was charming and funny. Not the ruthless villain you thought he originally was. He changed. He was still mischievous and did questionable things, but over all, he was good. And you told him so enough, especially when he doubted himself.
And eventually, you became friends. He told you a lot things that he never even told Thor. And in return you told him your secrets and desires. You bonded over having forever as immortals to be who you truly wanted, to do the things you truly wanted. Was it too good to be true, for him to have grown more than just fond of you?
Through your busy thoughts, you heard a quiet noise behind you, the door? Turning around, you see the door is still closed, and there is no one in the room. But you definitely heard something. You looked around the room as you took a few steps into the middle of the room “Hello?” you asked cautiously.
Hearing another noise behind you, and seeing the light of something brighten the room slightly, you spun around, seeing a bouquet of beautiful red roses appear on the table by the window. You stared at them in awe before being startled by a voice behind you.
“Do you like them?”
Spinning back around, you see Loki standing behind you, small smile on his face, surely due to your shocked reaction. “Loki?” you asked, exasperated “It was you” you said with an air confirmation.
“Yes. Are you surprised at this?” he asked, cocking his head slightly.
You let out an exasperated breath “Well...yes, I mean. You haven’t even been here.”
“Not that you knew of you mean?” he said with a smirk “I am a sorcerer you know.”
“So you just used your magic?”
He shrugged slightly in confirmation before he took a few steps closer to you “It seemed easier that way. Less suspicious. I mean, if I were to suddenly show up the same day you began receiving those gifts, and then never left...” he trailed off as he continued to watch you as he stopped in front of you “It would be too easier to figure out.”
You stared at him, unsure of what to do “Did you really mean those things you said in your notes?”
A small, almost melancholy smile appeared on his face “Of course I did, I’m sorry you even have to question it.”
“I just...all this time, no matter how much my...feelings for you changed, I thought you only saw me as a friend.”
“Not only” he shook his head “But so much more. A friend, confidant, a partner in crime”  he smirked, surely referring to the small pranks you had helped him pull around the tower in previous visits “And, the one person in all my life, that I could truly picture myself loving unconditionally. You believe more than the others that I can be good, and you are the one person I truly want to be good for.”
You became somewhat breathless as the sincerity in his voice, the way he was speaking was similar to the many confessions he had made about his past to you in secret, in confidence. “Loki-”
He cut you off by bringing his hands to your face “I love you Y/n.”
You brought your hand up and placed it on top if his, burying your face a little deeper into his palm as you looked into his eyes “I love you too Loki.”
He let out a shaky breath filled with relief as a smile grew on his face as he stroked your face with his thumb, pulling you closer to him and into a deep passionate kiss, sealing the confession permanently.
When you pulled away, he continued to stare into your eyes with a smile, that you returned. He spoke quietly “Come with me.”
“Where?”
“Anywhere you want to go, I’ll take you to see the universe if you’d like, as long as it’s by my side.”
You smiled widely at him “How about everywhere?”
He smiled brightly, the thought of travelling the universe with you filling him with excitement “Everywhere it is.”
xx xx xx xx xx
Hope you liked it! Please consider reblogging if you did :) And check out the other endings if you want~

I've been rewatching all the Loki content to get ready for the new show and I have thought of A Phineas and Ferb AU™ for your viewing pleasure (and if anyone wants to turn any part of this into an actual fanfic I would owe you my life)
this post was brought to you in partnership with @dumbausfromdanville
You know how the first Thor movie ends with Loki yeeting himself off the Bifrost and falling to earth? What if, instead of going after the Tesseract, he falls straight to the Tri-State area?
Jane, Darcy, and Selvig all seemed to be on vacation, right? So Thor presumably took place during the summer — say, perhaps, ending on June 3? So he falls right onto Phineas and Ferb's rollercoaster just before it goes down that ♫ three-mile drop straight down ♪. He has no idea wtf is happening so it's not like he gets the chance to sit down and put on a seatbelt, so he's stuck holding on for dear life for the entire rollercoaster ride which Phineas and Ferb find weird but they're not really concerned bc they're chill lil dudes and tbh this isn't too far off a normal day for them.
Phineas and Loki strike up a none-too-pleasant conversation (not that Phineas notices Loki's bad mood; he's too Him to realize not everyone is rainbows and sunshine all day, every day), and our favorite lil disoriented demigod has to figure out where the fuck he is now ("You there. What realm is this?" "Danville 🙂" "Wut da fuk?") and what the fuck he's supposed to do now that he's here.
Phineas ends up inviting him to hang out for the afternoon, and Loki is about to turn him down but then he smells the pie. He's never had doonkleberry pie before so obviously he has to try it. Then, when Loki's no longer hangry, they can hold an actual conversation. It's lowkey more Loki wallowing in his own self-pity than anything else, but Ferb recognizes Asgard when Loki mentions it so he and Phineas piece together that he's a god pretty quickly.
More importantly, though, they figure out that he's completely alone, and because Loki never mentions trying to, you know, murder his brother and lowkey overthrow the monarchy, they just kinda assume Loki's family sucks (Ferb is completely prepared to start the anti-Thor club but Phineas stops him because he doesn't want his brother to get struck by lightning) and adopt him (without his consent, but it's not like he has anywhere else to be -- and he did like that pie).
Loki has no desire to build anything with the boys He thinks the idea of a backyard beach they make the next morning is stupid — even more stupid than a regular beach, and that's saying something. But over time, he gets more involved -- not just with the boys, but with the entire family. He helps the boys build their inventions. He talks about human history with Lawrence and corrects much of his knowledge on mythology. He lets Linda teach him how to bake seriously, her pies are so good. He even suffers through Candace's mall trips as long as he gets to go to that fro-yo place on the second floor (though he draws the line at any conversation involving romance).
He's still a little skeptical of the platypus (and he feels like the platypus is a little skeptical of him, too) but Phineas insists that he's "just a platypus" and he "doesn't do much." Loki doesn't realize that Perry's keeping an eye on him for OWCA, nor does he know that Monogram has absolutely no idea what to make of the dude so he hasn't actually told any of his superiors about him. As far as the government is concerned, after the fiasco in New Mexico, Loki just disappeared.
This makes it fucking hilarious when the boys accidentally steal the superheroes' powers in Mission: Marvel and the superheroes show up at the Flynn-Fletchers' front door only to see fucking Loki. Loki just shuts the door in their faces without a word because what the fuck?, but eventually Phineas and Ferb go check the door and they agree to help the heroes (much to Loki's chagrin), which, of course, isn't complete with Candace fangirling over them (also much to Loki's chagrin; she never fangirled over him). At first the Avengers are fully convinced that Loki is responsible for stealing their powers, and Loki never actually denies it because he's a little shit but Phineas, Ferb, and their friends are very insistent that Loki didn't do anything (except a little bit of manual labor putting together the satellites because they're 10 and he's a whole-ass demigod).
At some point, Thor and Loki have a very heated discussion about the events of Thor, and it's pretty much all news to the Flynn-Fletchers and their friends. They're not really sure what to make of it so they basically glue their mouths shut and watch it all play out. I'd like to think it goes something like it does in The Avengers and that a) Thor is pissed because what the fuck have you been up to Loki you fucking dumbass, b) Thor has been in mourning since Loki yeeted himself into the abyss and he wants to make sure the guy knows it, and c) Loki does not take it seriously at all he's being antagonistic the entire time because he is so sick of Mr. High-And-Mighty's shit. In the end, Loki storms out of the SHEDquarters and Phineas doesn't even think to try to stop him until he's halfway out the door and it's too late.
He shows up again when Phineas, Ferb, and the Avengers try to fight the bad guys in the mall with the wrong powers and he basically singlehandedly saves their asses until superhero Perry shows up. As everyone's favorite shapeshifter, he has absolutely no problem figuring out that this beaver duck dude is the Flynn-Fletchers' platypus. He has no idea what to do with that information, but it sure is information that he now has apparently. (At this point, poor Loki has a very warped sense of what earth is supposed to be like lmao).
Phineas tries to get Loki to come back with them after superhero Perry grabs them and carries them home. Instead, Loki cuts himself loose and falls like 30 feet straight down (and tbh after falling from the Bifrost, that's nothing to him) and peaces the fuck out.
Loki ends up accidentally bonding with Candace and Isabella over feeling useless and unwanted (and he absolutely gets his own verse in Only Trying to Help because it's what he deserves), but unlike the two girls who are hell-bent on changing that, Loki is content wallowing in his own self-pity. He's tried this whole "being important" thing before and he ended up in self-exile for it. He's not putting himself through it again because he really doesn't expect it to end well. But then the powerless heroes decide to face the villains again, and with Candace and Isabella in space and Perry nowhere to be seen, he realizes it is once again up to him to keep the tri-state area safe (which he knows is a stupid priority but he's gotten kind of attached to these stupid little humans and he wants to keep them safe).
Then the heroes get their powers back and they join Loki (and Perry and the mysterious waffle gun in the sky) and beat the shit out of the villains. Thor and Loki work together in the heat of the battle which serves as a Great Bonding Moment™, and once the villains are gone, they have a nice lil heart-to-heart where they both apologize for their past. Thor remarks that Loki seems to have grown a lot over the last couple of months and tries to bring Loki home with him, but Loki refuses. He'll never be welcome back into Asgard, no matter what Thor may say.
But he is welcome with the Flynn-Fletchers, who are completely over the fact that he tried to ruin Thor's life and take his not-so-rightful place on the throne (except Candace who's very skeptical about having him back but it's not like Linda will believe her if she tries to tell her what Thor and Loki talked about so her opinion is unfortunately as irrelevant as it usually is on the show).
And early the next morning, before anyone else is awake, Perry gets an alert that he's needed in his headquarters (presumably to talk to or about Fury). He quietly sneaks off, only to find Loki waiting at the bottom of the stairs for him. They have a very nice "conversation" (not that Perry speaks) about the superhero Ducky Momo they saw the day before, and Loki assures him that his secret is safe, thus starting a much-needed bromance between Loki and Perry because it's what my babies, goddammit!
Anyways yeah if anyone wants to write a fanfic about Loki hanging out with Phineas and Ferb during his self-exile I would give you a socially distant high-five because I want to read it but I have too many other fanfics on my plate to start this one for at least a few months. It doesn't have to follow this prompt literally at all (I swear I wasn't trying to get this in-depth with it but this is what I do apparently) or it can follow this prompt exactly idc i just want a PnF/Loki fanfic 🥺

One of a kind Loki x reader (series)
Okay, totally new to this, but here is part 1 of  multichapter series I will be working on, it’s sort of from the request I got from anonymous but with a lil twistaroo I guess. Idk please you guys, tell me what you think of it.  Pairing: Loki x reader  Warnings: mentions of panic attacks, torture, possible NSFW themes later down the road  Tony Stark had always been protective of you, you were his daughter, afterall. He could remember the day you were left on his doorstep, the absolute panic that he had felt. You were an infant, with simply a note attached to a basket. "She's your problem, now. Have some responsibility" the note read.
He'd been confused, taking the child in, and terrified that he was going to do something wrong, but JARVIS did a DNA test on you and you were, in fact, his child. So, he learned how to be a dad, day by day, and your bond with him grew. He was your father, your everything. You were a genius, just like him and he still worried he wasn't going to be able to keep you safe, that he was going to fail you, so he was very protective.
But, even with how protective, how much he tried to shelter you from being hurt, Tony had enemies, and you were taken by HYDRA. Horrible experiments were done on you, so much so that you don't even remember what they did, all you could remember was feeling the pain. The AVENGERS rescued you, brought you back, but it left some sort of effect on you, an everlasting feeling that something was different and you couldn't quite figure out what was wrong with you. You just had this sense of.... dread that you couldn't quite seem to place. HYDRA had been successful with their experiments but your power was lying dormant within you, not having been fully tapped yet. Not until after Loki came to stay at the tower.
After the events of New York, Loki had been imprisoned in Asgard to pay for his crimes, but Thor still believed he could be redeemed and he was able to prove his brother was at least... trying... to be good. So, eventually, after many... many meeting in the Avenger Tower, it was finally agreed that Loki could stay there, could potentially become a member of the team.
Tony warned Loki the moment he set foot inside to stay away from you. "I mean it, reindeer games. No funny business, you leave y/n alone,"
He warned, glaring daggers into Loki's soul. He rolled his eyes, he didn't think the task of staying away from you was going to be difficult, and at first it wasn't, until he saw how... broken you looked. After you were held captive, it was killing you that you simply couldn't remember what happened, occasionally you would have panic attacks out at random.
Tony told him to stay away, he wasn't very good at following the rules. But, he was also drawn to you in a sense, normally he wouldn't give a single care towards any Midgardian, but with you? There was just something about you. The fact that you needed help only drew him closer to you.
Tony wasn't the only person who noticed the change in you after you had been held captive, everyone did. You had normally been so bubbly, jumping all around, excited about the next mission. But now, you spent most of your time reading books, or alone in the workshop making new changes to your suit. You didn't know what caused the panic attacks, only they happened at random and were damn near impossible to stop, sometimes you would just be working in the shop and then you would lose the ability to breathe, like it took every ounce of strength to remain grounded. That untapped power, that remained dormant just needed the right push to awaken you and it all started with Loki.
You had been alone in your workshop, tinkering with a heating and air conditioning device inside your suit when you began to feel like you were being watched. You spotted him staring at you in the corner of your eye and at first you paid no attention to him, Tony had warned you to stay away from Loki, he didn't fully trust him. and while you weren't one to always listen to what your dad said, you wanted to be cautious. You still, however, were yet to make your own assessment on how you felt about the Asgardian.
He didn't say anything at first, just calmly watched you while you worked. He didn't speak until he noticed you looking for something, a screwdriver which you had misplaced on the table behind you, yet failed to realize.
"I believe what you are searching for is behind you," He had said. His voice had startled you, causing you to jump and you turned around and casted a glare.
"Don't sneak up on me like that!" You snapped, looking at where he had directed you to. Indeed you found the tool you were looking for and began to work again, Loki watching you. It took him a couple minutes to fully come into the room, to actually stand there and openly watch you, you found that odd but he wanted to have some questions answered.
"No one will tell me why you act so odd, Something happened to you, didn't it," He said after a couple minutes of silence. You froze, feeling every nerve in your body coming to a halt. It was like the very air in your lungs evaporated at that moment.
You swallowed heavily. "I don't remember what happened to me," You heard yourself say after a moment. You could feel his eyes on you, watching your every move as you began to refocus on your suit, it was easier to focus on a task than to focus on not remembering the worst thing that ever happened to you, supposedly. You didn't know what the hell happened, just that the fear never left you.
"Isn't that a blessing?" He asked you. Again, your working hands stalled on your suit, not looking up to meet his gaze as he was across from you now.
"You'd think so," You said, your voice barely above a whisper. "Sometimes I feel like I never left there," He raised an eyebrow and you fumbled, knocking glass off of the workshop and onto the floor, it shattered upon impact just at the moment that Loki accidentally brushed against your hand to try and stop you falling. Instead, what happened was that you felt the experiments. A brief flash of unimaginable pain and then the ground beneath you began to shake. No. Literally shaking. You were causing the ground to shake, the glass in the room to shatter, the lights to flicker on and off as you struggled to catch your breath.
"Something's wrong," You heard yourself whimper before everything went black. The last thing you heard before your legs gave out was Loki calling your name.

I’m a simple person. I see thorbruce, I immediately want to ask you things. Do you have any favorite headcanons about thorbruce or Thor in general?
aaaah hello!!
i’ve never officially done headcanons like written out so forgive me if they’re all wrong and strange but most of them i have are for a fic i’m writing about the five year time jump in endgame and how i thought it would go for them had the writers not fucked everything up.
first of all after the Garden, thor and bruce would not leave each other. it makes no sense to me that they ever did that, that thor was just left alone to wallow in his depression and ptsd by himself. knowing bruce’s character and the fact he even said to thor in endgame “it was you. you helped me.” literally proves that bruce would not have left thor alone during that time.
i like to think that after the snap the o6 lived in the compound together and looked after each other. they’re at a time where they literally can’t do anything to help the universe so they would be surrounded by each other.
steve, nat and bruce would take turns to check on thor and take him food when he never came out of his room to eat. thor wasn’t very good company in the first weeks but he always enjoyed eating dinner with bruce in his room because they’d talk about things that took his mind off his grief.
bruce would see him reading one day and wonder when he got the books from the compound library because thor was literally never out of his room. he must’ve snuck around at night and got them or asked some of the others to get them for him. thor reads a LOT during that time to take his mind off things. bruce is a little offended at first because why didn’t thor tell him he was reading?? they could’ve talked about books!! bruce is the only one in the compound who reads daily so he was rightfully upset!
one of their dinners he takes thor a book on astrology because it might remind thor of home, even though it’s a touchy subject. bruce is the only one who thor lets talk to him honestly about his situation and how he needs help and he’s the only one who thor lets sit on the edge of his bed with him. he’s the only one who thor feels comfortable with touching him.
when thor’s ready, bruce takes him to The Vanished memorial like the one scott visits in endgame. maybe the o6 go all together to try and work through their grief together and form a bond between each other that is actually one of family. if not, thor and bruce definitely go together. bruce wants to help thor on his journey through his grief because he knows exactly what it’s like to be so grief stricken and suicidal like thor inevitably was after the snap.
bruce helps thor try to locate the remaining asgardians who made it off the ship in time before thanos decimated it. they spend months trying to make contact, which brings thor out of his room and into more of a normal routine again. bruce works tirelessly at it because he knows that finding them will give thor a little shred of happiness.
of course, bruce checks every single green insect, animal, leaf etc. for loki upon thor’s request. i wrote a fic about this once, i’ll link it here!
when he’s accepted they’re gone, bruce helps thor give odin, loki and heimdall funerals on the beach. (i saw fan art based on this) they take the day and travel to a beach where thor can give them asgardian send offs and so that thor can connect to his home once again.
thor asks bruce to move to New Asgard with him. he tells him about odin’s death where he and loki sat on the rocks in norway and how he wants to rebuild Asgard there. bruce happily obliges, because at this point the compound only houses steve and nat (tony went to his lil cabin with pepper and morgan and clint went off on his homicidal rage :/).
thor and bruce are integral to building New Asgard and they are helped by korg, miek, valkyrie and the remaining asgardians that thanos didn’t kill. like korg says in ragnarok, it is a haven for all people and aliens of the universe, so thor grants entry to anyone who may not feel they belong anywhere after the snap (this is done in moderation of course) and we finally see what happened to ava starr post amatw - she lives in New Asgard with valkyrie.
thor asks bruce if he will help him seek therapy. i don’t know if thor would be able to take things like anti depressants but he would definitely reach a point where he wants to try and heal. he’s incredibly torn up by the guilt and grief he feels for not stopping thanos, but when he’s surrounded by positivity from bruce, korg, miek, valkyrie etc. he learns to believe that it wasn’t his fault.
there are memorials for loki, heimdall, frigga and odin in New Asgard in thor’s office. he looks at them every day for motivation and strength and even though they are painful, he never takes them down.
thor and bruce have their own house together in New Asgard. they start off as platonic roommates but eventually get closer and realise that they’ve been in love with each other the entire time. everyone around them in New Asgard has already realised months ago but nobody ever thought to mention it until one day korg blurts it out and they’re forced to confess to each other.
they don’t go back to New York until they’re called upon. bruce does not undergo the transformation into professor hulk. as bruce helps thor through his grief, thor unknowingly helps bruce learn to love himself and appreciate that he shouldn’t be ashamed of himself because of how the hulk acts. bruce remembers that he very in character hates the hulk and does not want to merge himself with hulk for the rest of eternity. he admires thor’s love for bruce banner, not the hulk, and tries to adopt it for himself.
most importantly they find some semblance of happiness and peace with each other. whether that’s possible through their grief following the snap i don’t know, but i’m absolutely 100% certain that it is canon in my mind that they never leave each other’s sides.

Loki Headcanons That Might As Well Be Canons
(Read: Loki canons that might as well be headcanons)
List of my favorite headcanons that will remain despite anything that happens in the Loki series or anything that has happened so far.
1. Loki was captured and tortured by Thanos after Thor 1.
2. Loki was being manipulated/influenced by the mind stone, a variation of how the avengers were influenced in the hellicarrier except a thousand times more effective. Making his actions in the battle of New York not his own.
3. When Loki is bashed into the ground by Hulk, he is freed from the mind invasions of the Other and the mind stone.
4. Loki and Thor loved each other, despite a sometimes rocky relationship. (Ie. Loki being treated poorly, Thor simply not understanding his brother)
5. Loki mostly served as a form of guidance to Thor that was sometimes effective but eventually so in effective Loki lost faith in his brother.
6. Loki wanted Thor to be king. He just wanted him to be responsible.
7. Loki’s tricks in childhood never consisted of him tricking and stabbing Thor...
8. Loki meant to die in Thor 2 but when he didn’t, he decided to use it to his advantage. Get back at Odin and fake being dead to escape the notice of Thanos.
9. Through trauma, Loki began seeing Thanos as an almost all seeing deity. He didn’t worship him, but he was afraid of him.
10. Loki loved both his parents, including Odin. Even up until Odin died.
11. Odin and Loki (from Loki’s point of view) did have a loving relationship but just because they loved each other doesn’t mean one didn’t hurt the other.
12. Odin had complicated emotions about Loki and Thor. From his point of view, he loved his sons, and deep down perhaps he did. But his cruelty or callousness or downright selfishness tended to get in the way of any real familial bonds.
13. Loki is Hela’s son. He’s half frost giant, a quarter Asgaridan and another quarter whatever Hela’s mother was.
14. Loki could shapeshift since he was a baby and changed his form specifically to Orin’s when he saw him as a baby.
15. The battle between Jotunheimr and Asgard was the last battle fought between Hela and Odin. Odin knew exactly who Loki was when he took him and Loki being his grandson is exactly why he let him live.
16. Loki becoming a hero isn’t a redemption, it’s just a return to form. Loki showed many heroic attributes in Thor 1 (seen protecting the warriors 3 and sif even when he hated them) like Thor. In Thor 1, Loki and Thor are on the same playing field. Both done and are capable of terrible things but one was shown mercy and the other was sent into a worse hell.
17. Loki attempted to kill himself in Thor 1, not fake his death... 🙄.
18. Loki can’t die. Being Hela’s son, he’s unkillable much like she herself is.
19. Loki spent the years after taking the All Fathers place planning a defense plan that was destroyed again by Orin’s secrets. Making Thor and Loki unprepared for Thanos arrival.
20. Loki has a special connection with the space stone. And feels inclined to protect it. Keeping it safe with him and taking it to protect after Asgard’s destruction. Though when weighing his brothers life vs the stone it’s no contest.
21. Loki’s magic was damaged after his time with Thanos. He uses less magic as a result after Thor 1. It’s slowly coming back but it takes longer to recover than the rest of his body.
22. Loki respects and somewhat resents Jane Foster for getting his brother to change despite Loki seemingly having a closer relationship with him and failing to do so for centuries.
23. Loki never wanted to be king in Thor 1 and he most definitely didn’t want to be King after. He finds taking Odin’s place to only be a little relaxing but only because he needs rest after so much time under distress. He’s quite happy to give the throne to Thor, provides Thor doesn’t drive it to the ground.
24. Despite everything, Loki loves Asgard and has a strong sense of duty to it.
25. Loki once found himself superior to many Asgardians and Midgardians or frost giants but after he learns of his heritage his self loathing gets rid of that.
26. Loki thinks Midgard is good for Thor. Even though Loki thinks most Midgardians are idiots.
27. Loki has at least one child he’s never told his family about and that’s because the child is not or was not fully aesir.
28. Loki respected Sif as much as he hated her. Both the smartest of the bunch and the most infuriating. Loki played lots of tricks on her.
29. The mind stone was heavily influenced by Thanos and is what caused the creation of Ultron’s personality.
30. Loki’s fighting became more vicious and skilled after his time with Thanos. That would be because Thanos had him fight other prisoners to the death.
31. Loki is gender fluid and has assumed his form of Lady Loki before but not as frequently as he would like because Asgard frowns upon it. Thor has never taken up issue however. None of the royal family has.
32. Loki has been repressed for quite a lot of his life, his discovery to his heritage broke that and what we see following became an extreme form of letting all that out. Thor doesn’t understand Loki’s breaking point and suicide attempt, simply because he didn’t see the signs of it.

“Elskling? Are you going out?” Loki asked when you came into the common room on the day of the press conference.  He had looked up from his book automatically when you came into the room, his Omega’s presence drawing his attention.
It wasn’t hard to tell that you were going out.  You were dressed properly for once.  Including shoes, which were the bane of your existence most of the time.  You generally only wore fuzzy socks on your feet at the most.  You were also dressed nicer than the lounge clothes you usually wore around the tower.
You saw the concern in Loki’s eyes.  He was still grounded to the tower and couldn’t go out with you if you were indeed going out.  He didn’t like the idea of his Omega going out without him.  He couldn’t truly protest if you were going out alone, at least no more than any Alpha could in relation to an Omega in their pack.  He hadn’t officially claimed you yet, so he only had so much say over your life.  It seemed like only a matter of time.
You nodded to answer his question.  “Yes, Talia and I are going out to get our hair and nails done before the press conference tonight,” you explained.  You’d chosen a buttoned shirt for that reason, so you wouldn’t mess up your hair later when you changed into your dress for the event.
Loki considered that, his instincts warring with the knowledge that you were safe with any of the team members.  “Lady Natasha will be accompanying you?” He confirmed.
You nodded again and gave him a gentle look as you finally came all the way over to the couch he was sitting on.  “Yes.  She’ll be with me the whole time and she’s driving,” you placed a hand on Loki’s shoulder as you spoke, reassuring him with that bit of physical contact.
Loki stood and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his arms.  He nuzzled you, scenting you as he did.  It was an Alpha’s protective nature driving him to do.  It was a way to claim you without the permanent bond, to tell any Alpha you came across that you were under the protection of an Alpha.  His scent and physic scent were strong, not that he smelled bad.  He smelled amazing, like parchment, mint, magic, and the crispness of a winter’s day. But it was more than the physical scent.  It was a physic scent as well, a practically magical communication that indicated the physical and mental strength of the Alpha in question.  Loki was a god.  He was beyond strong and his scenting you would warn any Alpha you came across to stay away from you.
He pressed a kiss to your hair.  “Much better, Elskling,” he purred softly, relaxing when you were properly scented and smelled like his.  You were used to such behavior.  When the Alphas on the team were feeling overprotective it made them feel better to scent you as a member of their pack.  You knew this was more.  This was a claim.  It wasn’t a permanent claim, but it was a claim nonetheless.
“We’ll be alright, Loki,” you promised him.
“Be careful,” he replied softly.
“She’ll be safe with me,” Nat promised as she came into the room to meet you.  “We’ll be back in a couple of hours,”
Loki hesitated, then gave you another nuzzle to make sure you were properly scented before he let you go.  “Have fun, Elskling,” he said.  He was reluctant to let you leave without him to protect you, but he knew you were safe with Nat, and he wouldn’t keep you from having a life.
You leaned up and kissed his cheek.  “We will!” You told him brightly and headed over to Nat to leave the tower with her.
Loki’s hand rose to his cheek where you’d kissed it, a light purple blush to his cheeks, and a shocked look on his face at your bold gesture.
He definitely liked it and you practically heard him purr as you left.
*
You enjoyed your trip out of the tower with Nat and got your hair, makeup, and nails done for the press conference.  The team loved doting on you and spoiling you, so they were eager to make sure you had the very best for any event you had to attend.  And you never had to do your own hair or makeup.  Not a single Alpha dared cause any trouble, despite you not being claimed, thanks to Loki’s scent surrounding you.
You made it back to the tower and reassured Loki that you were home safely before you headed up to your apartment to get dressed.  Nat had brought her dress for the evening to your apartment as well, so you could get ready together.  “Are you sure Loki’s going to like it?” You asked her shyly as she zipped up the back of your evening gown for you.  There was no denying that you liked Loki, liked, liked him.
“He’ll love it, Meimei,” Nat promised warmly.
The gown was gorgeous.  It was mostly black, but when the light hit it, the top layer shimmered green.   It was tasteful, not too revealing as was proper for an Omega, but fit to you, making you look amazing.  Your jewelry was tasteful.  Necklaces weren’t popular for Omegas, because of the collar you had to wear, but you had a simple gold bracelet and gold drop earrings.
Nat helped you with the finishing touches and to put on your heels.  She was wearing a black and red gown for the evening and looked fantastic as always.  You felt inadequate next to her.  “You look amazing.  He won’t be able to take his eyes off of you,” she promised.
You thanked her for her kind words, and nervously headed down to the common room with her to meet up with the boys.  They insisted on being inspected before the press conference to make sure they were presentable.  Apparently, it was necessary when Thor was concerned as he wasn’t used to Midgardian attire.
You stepped out of the elevator and the boys all turned to you and Nat.  They all had appreciative looks on their faces and gave the expected compliments.
You scanned the room and easily caught sight of Loki.  He was standing a bit apart from the others, dressed in an all black suit, with black tie, and black dress shirt.  It could only be described as a black suit of sexiness.  You watched as his eyes caught on you, as he looked over you and your outfit.  You saw the appraisal in his expression and waited with bated breath for his verdict.
His appraisal turned to approval and what you read as lust in his eyes.
Nat was right.  He couldn’t take his eyes off of you.
He strode over to you with his usual feline grace and took your hand, bowing over it and kissing your knuckles in a romantic, princely gesture.  “My lady, you look absolutely radiant this evening,” he purred, making your heart flutter as your breath hitched.
“Thank you, Alpha,” you managed to finally reply when you found your words again.  It was the proper response, but you could tell that Loki heard the distinction in the words, the word you left unsaid.  He heard what you didn’t say and absolutely loved it.
While you had said ‘thank you, alpha’ aloud, what you had really said, even without the missing word was ‘thank you my alpha’ and that made all the difference.
