OBSESSED: SHOKO (feat. The Boys)
A/N: This took an entirely different route than I expected when I first started dribbling it. This was a fun one 🤭
C/W: Cuckholding, Mature, 18+
Tumblr media
Fact: You are the hottest woman alive.
Fact: Shoko is no better than a man.
Shoko is no better than a man because she has used you — your pictures, your smile, your tight hugs — as her personal spank bank.
Truthfully, she can’t really pinpoint the moment you broke her brain.
All she remembers is that there was an inflection point in time. Before meeting you. And after meeting you.
And the funniest part of it all is that you two have nothing in common.
Shoko is a sorcerer at Jujutsu Tech. You are a normie at University of Tokyo.
Shoko can count on one hand how many people she can tolerate. People flock to you in droves. And you like it.
Shoko is red wine and cigarettes. You are champagne and birthday cake.
So how the hell did a bubble gum, pretty pink, girly girl, princess work her way into Shoko’s life? And take permanent residence in a little (extremely large) part of her brain?
Not to mention the havoc you are wreaking in her heart. Whatever is left of the cold, shriveled plumbing system keeping her alive.
When was it exactly?
Shoko lights another cigarette on her short 2 mile walk home. You have a habit of making her burn through her vices.
Was it the night you went out dancing?
When the dress you wore made Shoko see God?
You grinded every part of your mind-altering curves on her, and Shoko left sopping wet. At home she immediately reached for her vibrator. Unable to look herself in the eye for a full day after that.
Or maybe it was the time you fell asleep curled up in her lap. Wearing one of her old ratty softball shirts, smelling like her shampoo. Small, rhythmic breaths flowing from your lips.
You looked like the missing puzzle piece in Shoko’s life.
No, no.
It’s definitely was the time you came barreling into her apartment with balloons and flowers and cupcakes that were too sweet. All because Shoko had finally mastered her reversed curse technique before the prodigal sons.
You can barely even grasp the concept of curses. And why would you?
A soft, gentle soul like you couldn’t muster enough negativity to form a curse.
You live in the clouds. Among the angels. You can’t see curses and yet — somehow —you’re the most supernatural person in any room.
She’s completely, fully, idiotically smitten with you.
And so is everybody else.
You pretty, unaware little thing. You have the two strongest sorcerers at Jujutsu Tech and their personal medic wrapped around your dainty fingers and you have no idea.
Suguru? He stares. Vision sharper than a hawk. He watches you talk, eat, walk, text, think. Suguru anticipates your next breath and would kiss oxygen into your mouth if he could. Even still, despite how taken he is, Suguru is the best at concealing his puppy love.
Satoru is the absolute worst.
Limitless goes off the second you step into a room. And Satoru rarely clicks off his technique otherwise. Even when it’s just Shoko or Suguru around.
He all but chains you to his body. He’s always lifting you, hugging you, carrying you, holding your hand, holding your hair. Satoru would crawl inside of your body and live there, if he could.
Then there’s Shoko.
Who seethes when anyone looks your way. But also masturbates to the thought of other people touching you.
A fucking mess of a conundrum, right?
The first time it happened was about 8 months ago. Definitely one too many glasses of Cabernet were poured. You two were gabbing on the phone. Exchanging the best and worst sex you’ve had to date.
And you. In that melodic, breathy, gossamer thin voice of yours that belongs in Heaven’s choir started saying the dirtiest things. About how cock-drunk you were. How you begged and pleaded for more. Swallowed cum like it was your only sustenance. And squirted all over your lover, only to kiss it off his face after.
Shoko touched herself until she came right then and there. On the phone. You unknowingly talking her through her one of the most satisfying orgasms of her life.
Since then it’s been a horrible habit she’s given into time and time again.
And who’s to say? Maybe it’s from constantly being in the shadows of Suguru’s Sun and Satoru’s Moon that there’s comfort in watching from the side lines?
Maybe she’s found the sweet pleasure in that pain and it’s manifested as her lust for others having their way with you? And her blind infatuation with you?
No, wait.
Not blind.
With you it’s like she has the Six Eyes. And with you, so does everyone else.
Shoko drags in a long, exasperated breath. Pausing just outside her apartment entrance, stomping out the last of her menthol.
If the time she spent mulling over you in her mind could be converted caloric energy - she’d be a supermodel by now.
Whatever.
Today’s the best day of the week. Friday.
Which means when Shoko opens her door, you’re going to be fussing about the kitchen. Cooking some kind of dessert for Movie Night.
The Boys usually trip over themselves getting to Shoko’s apartment after classes. But there’s always an idyllic 15 minutes where Shoko has you all to herself.
15 minutes in Heaven. Like she’s a damn middle school girl.
Shoko opens her door and nearly flatlines.
You’re evil.
An evil, mean, cruel tease.
You KNOW anyone with eyes would have a stroke at the site of you.
Fully bent over at the waist, rummaging through pots and pans. Not a single blemish on your silky smooth skin. Your lilac boy shorts could not BE any tighter. And of course, they’re just short enough to not cover the plump shelf of your lower ass cheeks.
Shoko’s hands start twitching. Like she’s going through withdrawal.
You pop back up with a triumphant “there it is!” An empty small pot in your hands. And Shoko thinks she’ll have to add a heart attack to her growing list of ailments.
Your matching lilac tank top is egregiously and deliciously small. The sliver of tummy between the hem of the top and waist of your shorts could bring civilizations to collapse.
Not to mention that the apartment is cold. And your nipples are so painfully responsive.
Sin.
You are sin.
Wrapped in the most beautiful frame of a woman.
“Babe!! You’re already home. I let myself in because the icing for these cupcakes takes forever to get right.”
You flash your Colgate smile, ensnaring Shoko in your trap.
“You’re going to give Satoru and Suguru a heart attack.” Her, you’re going to give her a heart attack.
“Hmm? Why do you say that?” So non-chalant. So oblivious.
Shoko gestures to your outfit. Attempting to mirror your nonchalance. But, ironically, she can feel her face tumbling down the descending shades of red.
Genuine confusion weaves though your features and she almost screams.
“Shoko please. You know they don’t see me that way!”
Everyone, gorgeous. EVERYONE. Sees you that way.
Before she could edge another word out, the familiar hum of Limitless buzzing inward splits Shoko’s thoughts in half.
Dammit, they’re early.
“Daddy’s Home!”
Satoru charges straight at you because of course he would.
“Satoru!!!” You’re a plaything in his arms. Legs tightening around his waist.
Shoko would pay an inordinate amount of money to trade places with him.
She watches through an envy-green screen. How easily Satoru spins you and tosses you on the kitchen counter. Situating himself between your soft thighs.
How would your body bounce against his hips thrusting into you?
“You have to taste this, pretty boy.”
Tsk. He’s not THAT pretty.
Both Shoko and Suguru watch through parted lips as you shove half a cupcake into Satoru’s mouth. Neither of you miss how his tongue flicks between your fingers. Or how his hips lean closer to your barely clothed flower.
He lets out an exaggerated groan. “Fucking, perfect. I could eat your cupcake..all night.”
“You perv.”
You laugh and shove Satoru back from between your legs. Then turn in Shoko’s direction.
Silently curving your index finger forward, you beckon. Both Shoko and Suguru start toward you like well-trained, love-struck pets.
“No pouting Suguru, you’re pretty too. And up next.”
And Shoko’s shoulders sink like the child who is picked last for dodge ball teams.
Her eyes trail Suguru’s back - wishing to every God she was born with a technique allowing her to take over a host’s body.
“Me next.” He settles between your legs.
Suguru, the master of subtlety. Everyone but you can pick up on the strain in his baritone.
There’s something so painfully sensual about the way he grips both of your thighs. Your skin is so smooth, so pliant under his large hands. Waiting on your fingers to invade his mouth.
How pretty would your lips look like wrapped around his fingers? Do your cheeks hollow out when you suck on something larger?
Shoko crosses her right foot over the left. As if jamming her thighs together would stop the growing pool of lust between her legs.
“Alright babe, best for last. I have something for you too.”
Suguru takes his time pulling away from the warmth of your core. And Shoko has to strap her mind to her body to keep from sprinting at you.
Eventually, she nestles between your legs and is at eye level with your pert nipples. Immediately caught in a trance. So close to her mouth.
“Blushing so much!” Your thumb pulls Shoko’s focus back to earth.
Blushing so much because she wants to watch her best friends fuck you. Then lick your cunt clean after they’re done.
“I’m not, what’s my surprise?”
“So demanding.” You giggle. Your palm takes away Shoko’s view of your perky, hard nipples.
“Open.”
Shoko’s jaw hangs at your command. Cold glass hits her lips before the full bodied, decadent Cabernet does.
Red wine. Because she hates sweets.
You’re as thoughtful as you are beautiful and everything you do is a turn on.
“Mmmm,” Shoko hums and you gift her vision back.
“Amazing, right?” You take your own sip, maintaining eye contact.
Shoko’s eyes fall to your lips. And how you roll the wine over your tongue. Savoring each drop.
How would your tongue feel rolling around her mouth? Her neck? Her nipple? What kind of sounds would you make if her tongue rolled around your petals? Your clit? What do you taste—
“Movie time?” You break Satoru, Suguru and Shoko’s daze.
All three of them scramble around you. Grabbing your cupcakes, snacks and wine to settle in on Shoko’s huge sectional couch.
You drape your body over Satoru and Suguru’s lap. A little loose limbed kitten. Shoko situates herself on the long arm of her chair.
Far enough to drown into her own spiral. Close enough to register everything you do in the the most permanent part of her mind.
You nuzzle your cheek into Suguru’s thigh. His forearm immediately drops in front of his crotch. Undoubtedly to avoid spearing you with his manhood.
“Play with my hair, Suguru?”
“Yes. Of course.”
His free hand weaves into your hair. The soft, decadent moan you exhale sent visible shudders down their spines.
Shoko’s eyes laser to Satoru’s hands. His eyes haven’t touched the screen since the movie began. His grasp encompasses your entire back thighs. Slowly gliding them up to the delicate mounds of your ass.
“God that feels amazing.”
Satoru’s Adams Apple drags along the column of his throat. “Yeah?”
“So good.”
You deepen the arch in your back and the physical restraint Satoru imposes on himself is visible.
The only person watching the movie is you.
And the room tilts on its axis the moment you melt deeper into the boys’ hands. Their names, quiet praise, seep from your lips.
Satoru and Suguru exchange hooded gazes.
As if to commiserate about how fucking hot you are. And how it’s taking active awareness of every single muscle to not do vulgar things to you.
Not even a backward glance Shoko’s way.
Again.
Leaving Shoko out of the conversation. Again.
She angrily tosses a blanket over her lap. Frustration bubbling up her throat. Her fingers clumsily fumble with her zipper. She’s pissed. Angry. Fucking jealous.
And so turned on she might crawl out of her skin if she doesn’t touch herself this goddamn second.
Shoko’s fingers are ice cold against her warm, wet clit. It’s agonizing. How incredible the pressure feels.
You look delicious. So small between their laps. Far too tiny to handle them both.
But God it would be so hot.
It would be so fucking hot. To watch you choke all over Suguru’s cock. Slobber into his lap. All while Satoru bullies his length into your soft, dewy pussy. Helpless. Overstimulated.
Getting used like the pretty Barbie doll you are.
And the way they touch you, so brazenly, in front of her.
Like Shoko’s presence isn’t even remotely threatening. She isn’t any competition for their big hands and broad shoulders. Masculine frames. That’s why she’s just sitting there. Pathetic. Rubbing herself dumb just watching.
She would be so happy, so fucking eager to lap you clean. Pet your swollen, abused folds when they’re done with you. Hump a pillow while she sucks your nipples. You’d moan and whine and squirm under her touch.
Would you beg? Or laugh at how pitiful she is? Getting off to remnants of you when the Boys have had their way?
Shoko accidentally choking on her own drool draws almost everyone’s attention to her. The hand that was molesting her sensitive bud freezes.
Suguru’s eyes flicker back down to you, sleeping beauty.
Their coordinated touch lulled you to bed. Satoru’s eyes linger on Shoko long enough to make her simmer under his gaze. She blinks back to the movie, credits now scrolling up the screen.
How long was Shoko day dreaming?
“Let’s get her to bed.” Suguru gently pulls you onto his chest. You sleepily drape your arms around his neck.
Satoru follows close behind him into Shoko’s room. Because putting the smallest little kitten to bed is a two person job.
Shoko scrambles to zip up her pants and swipe the last of her arousal on the blanket. She gets to the doorway and watches the Boys dote over you in a way that makes them slightly more endearing.
You wake up long enough to murmur goodnight. Floating your arms in the air so the boys can bring their hugs to you. Both of them place quick pecks on your forehead. Leaving you with the cutest, most content smile on your sleepy face.
At least Suguru can hold it together. He weaves out of Shoko’s room quickly.
Satoru, however, keeps stopping along the 10 foot pace to the doorway to just stare. As if a monster from your nightmares will pop up the second he leaves you alone.
Shoko snorts, arms crossing her chest. “Put it back in your pants, yes?”
“Look who is talking.” Sly grin pulls across Satoru’s perfect, blinding teeth. Shoko could punch him right now.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Ieiri. I have the fucking six eyes. What do you think I’m talking about.”
Satoru wires around Shoko’s stunned body.
He and Suguru are out of her apartment before she can bat her eyelashes 5 times.
Shoko all but sprints to the kitchen. She gulps the rest of her red wine. Something. Anything to burn Satoru’s comment out of her mind. And to put out the desperate flame between her legs.
You’re in her bed.
She’s just been masturbating watching her two best friends touch you.
One of her best friends is FULLY aware of this all.
Her hands shakenly pour another, head sized glass of Cabernet. Which is doing absolutely nothing for how lusty she feels right now. And everything to destroy her self control.
Why does she have to sit on the sidelines?
Why do they get access to you that she doesn’t?
She downs the last few drops of red wine. Storming back to her room. She’s going to confront this once and for all.
You’re strewn over her bed like a silk scarf. Rolling, tender hills of flesh. Valleys of feminine curves. Shoko grips both of your dainty wrists. Tossing you onto your back.
Sleepy groans bubble out of you. Your eyes lazily slide open. Not an ounce of concern on your face. Full of trust. Even though Shoko is glaring down at you like she wants to crawl in your skin.
“Bad dream?”
“No.” Shoko is kurt. Angry. Jealous.
“What is it?”
“I just…” Moonlight is kissing your face in the way Shoko wants to.
“T-The boys,” Your eyes flutter expectantly. Nose crinkling in fuzzy confusion.
“The-the boys always get to touch you. And pick you up. And tuck you in. And kiss you. And-and I-im just…”
“Do you want to kiss me?”
Shoko hears her heart stop beating.
What did you just ask? So casually. As if you didn’t just catapult her into another dimension.
“H-huh? What?” Shoko didn’t hear you right.
There’s no way.
“I asked if you want to kiss me.” Something other than innocence lines your voice. And it pets Shoko’s flame
“I—I uh. M-. Yes.”
“So kiss me.”
Only one second of shocked hesitation passes before Shoko crashes her lips into yours.
Of course your lips taste like this. Marshmallow soft. Cotton candy sweet. Mini explosions of pleasure surge in all directions of her body.
“God,” Shoko groans, bringing the back of your head impossibly closer to her.
Melting into the soft hills and rolls of your sweet tongue. Shoko whines into your mouth like the desperate puppy she is. She’s drunk. Intoxicated. And it has nothing to do with the wine.
Do you know that?
Have you always known?
How does anyone ever make it out of their embrace with you with their wits about them?
“Baby,” you sigh into Shoko’s swollen lips.
Her hands tremble against your waist. Twitching to explore. Dying to map every inch of your body.
She lets out little, staccato moans of protest when you pull away.
“Feel better?”
Your starry eyes sparkle between Shoko’s. Sleepy, pretty smile playing on your puffy lips.
Shoko nods wordlessly. You’ve already stolen her logic and her heart. Might as well add her voice to the list.
You place a chaste kiss on Shoko’s lips before cocooning underneath the sheets.
Like you didn’t just make her fall in love.
“Goodnight, baby.”

[part seven] to build a home - gojo satoru
Tumblr media
word count: 3.3k warnings: !!manga spoilers!! swearing, jjk-verse style fighting series summary: when (y/n) (y/l/n) catches wind that the notorious sorcerer killer, toji fushiguro, has children, she makes it her personal mission to find them. the catch being she couldn't tell a soul about them- the risk of the zen'in clan learning about them was too great. keeping the secret isn't the hard part, it's lying to her friends, shoko ieiri, geto suguru, and of course gojo satoru, that she struggles with. especially when satoru has suddenly become so keen on keeping an eye on her lately.
series masterlist
[part seven] : "Shikigami" ___
The next month, (y/n) thinks, is the best month of her life.  She finally relaxes, even with everything on her plate, she seems to fall into a decent routine to balance it all.  Somehow, everything seems to work out.  And she enjoys her time of peace.
She’d thrown a small party for Tsumiki’s tenth birthday, complete with a homemade two-tower cake that might have been a little slumpy but she and Megumi enjoyed it nonetheless.  (y/n) had spent most of her earnings from her tutoring on a smartphone, and when Tsumiki had shred the glittery pink wrapping paper from it, she’d screamed so loud that Megumi had clamped his hands over his ears.
It was expensive, but it was about time that they had an easier way to communicate with each other.  Ever since, Tsumiki always made sure to keep her updated on what she and Megumi were up to, and she also sent plenty of pictures.  (y/n) particularly enjoyed the ones with Megumi’s hands in front of his face- which were most of them.
She visited them more regularly, and always held herself to that schedule.  Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and the weekends, were reserved for them, and then only.  After a while of this being a normal occurrence, her friends seemed to stop wondering where she went.  They never asked what she was doing, or where she was going.  She did find this odd, but she decided to accept it as a sign of things working out.
“What’re you thinkin’ about?”
Gojo Satoru was sitting on the common room’s sofa beside her.  The movie they’d been watching together long ignored as he propped his elbow on the back of the cushion, resting his head in his hand to better look at her.
(y/n) looked up from her phone, clicking it off as she met his gaze.
The lights were off, and with only the dim light of the television screen, Satoru had his sunglasses hooked into the collar of his shirt.  It wasn’t often that he left them off.  (y/n) felt a sense of honor, that he was comfortable enough to sit before her, exposed.
She had a feeling that if she reached out to touch him, she’d be able to.
“I guess nothing” She replied, the message she’d just received from Tsumiki still on her mind.
It wasn’t the usual picture of Megumi.  In this one, there were two small puppies on either side of him.  One white, and one black, with shikigami symbols on either of their heads.
[(y/n)]: i’m so proud! i can’t wait to come and see in person tomorrow.  Be safe <3
Her response hadn’t been a lie, she was incredibly proud that Megumi was starting to get a grasp on his cursed energy.  Summoning shikigami wasn’t an easy feat, and (y/n) had never really tried her own hand at it.  So a part of her felt insecure in her ability to help young Megumi hone this skill.
But more than anything, she was overwhelmed at the realization that he was growing up, growing into his cursed energy.  Soon she’d have to figure out a way to teach him how to use it.  She’d have to teach him properly about curses, and about jujutsu sorcerers.
She gnawed on her lip.
“Really?” Satoru asked, quietly.  “Cause it looks like somethin’s bothering you”
(y/n) dropped her gaze to her lap, at the black screen of her phone.
“No, I’m alright,” She feigned a smile.  “Hey, you know much about shikigami?”
Satoru’s brows furrow, and there’s a slight smirk on his lips.  What in the world did she need shikigami for?
“You want a pet, sweetheart?” He jokes.  “You could just ask, I’ll get you something”
“No, I don’t want a pet” (y/n) laughs at his instant desire to buy her something.
“You sure?” Satoru checks.  “Kitten? Turtle? Parrot?”
“No,” (y/n) repeats between her laughter.  “When would I have the time to take care of a pet? I’m too busy taking care of you”
He gives her a toothy grin.
“Well then what’s with the shikigami?” He asked.  “Not like you need ‘em”
“So you don’t know anything,” (y/n) sighs, defeated.  “That’s fine, I’ll just ask Suguru or something-”
“No no no, no need, I’m your mentor, aren’t I?” He cuts her off, making her chuckle.  Of course he’d jump at the opportunity to help if it meant she didn’t go to someone else.
“I wouldn’t say mentor-”
“Summoning shikigami is all about your own cursed energy,” He speaks over her.  “Think of it like play-doh!” He adds, scooting closer to her on the cushion as his hands move in front of him, making a ball shape.  “It’s all about having an image in mind, and using your cursed energy to make that image reality!”
(y/n) nods, twirling her phone around in her hand as she thinks about it.
Megumi didn’t just summon one dog.  There were two.
“Why the sudden interest?” Satoru asks.
(y/n) shakes her head.
“Got a paper on it” She mumbles out the lie, the gears in her mind occupying all of her thoughts.
If Megumi were able to summon even more…
She doesn’t want to think about it.
Then the Zen’in Clan might start looking for him.
“Boring paper,” Satoru scoffs, leaning back on the couch.  “You should write about something cooler.  Like me,”
(y/n) chuckles, he’d effectively distracted her from her troubled thoughts.
“What?” He asks, offended.  “I’m interesting! I’m the most interesting thing that’s happened to this dying community in decades! Maybe even centuries, (y/n/n)”
(y/n) rolls her eyes at him affectionately.  He always had a way of condemning the jujutsu society, even though it was the very society that practically crowned him.
“Sure you are” She deadpans.
He gapes at her.
“You don’t think I’m interesting?” He asks, holding a hand over his chest in mock offense.
“Satoru-”
“I can’t believe this!” He cries out, throwing his head back.
“Satoru-”
“You’ve wounded me, (y/n)!” He gets louder each time she tries to make him shut up.  “I can’t believe I trusted you- you’ve broken my heart!”
“Satoru!” (y/n) grabs him by his shoulders, and just as she suspected earlier, he’d let her touch him.
He’s cackling, laughing at his own jokes.  It’s almost annoying, but he’s grinning ear to ear as he brings his head back up, meeting her gaze, and she can’t find it in herself to be irritated with him.
For once, his stupid mouth is shut.  He’s just staring at her, intently, like he was waiting for something.  (y/n) raised a brow, in silent question, but he still didn’t say anything.
“What?” She finally asked, eyes flickering between his.
Despite herself, she gets lost in the deep oceans of his irises.  She knows that he knows they’re beautiful, but she wonders if he knows just how trapped in them she could get.
They were his greatest weapon, in more ways than one.
He still doesn’t answer, but his grin softens, and her heart flips over in her chest.
Was Gojo Satoru really reducing her to this?
She suddenly notices how close she is, with her hands frozen on his shoulders, and her face just inches away from his.  If someone were to walk into the room right now, it would surely seem like a compromising position.
Was she losing her mind, or did he just look at her lips?
Sure, she’d had a few more than platonic thoughts about him in the past, and surely he’d known this too.  Gojo Satoru lived to be a charmer, a flirt, a tease- he collected phone numbers (and probably other small trophies) left and right.
(y/n) had seen it first hand, and it used to frustrate her to no end that he would distract himself from an assignment just to throw out a cheap pickup line and a wink.  It was more frustrating that it worked.  But now she wonders if she was annoyed by this behavior for other reasons.
All at once, Satoru took her wrists, dropping her hands from his shoulders, and moving back to his spot on the couch to put distance between them.
It wasn’t right, he told himself, looking back at the television and pretending to suddenly be interested in the movie he’d barely watched.  She was seeing someone.
Maybe he hadn’t proved it yet, she hadn’t given him any tangible evidence that it was a boyfriend she was visiting in Tokyo, but the odds of it being anything else were growing thin  For the last month he’d been giving her the space to do as she pleased, and she had chosen to use that space to go into town more frequently, and on a regular schedule now, too.  This led Satoru, and Shoko and Suguru as well, to believe it had to be a guy she was visiting.
There was a knot between (y/n’s) eyebrows, as she regarded Satoru’s sudden distance.  She’s not sure why he’d recoiled away from her, as if she’d somehow done something venomous.  She tried racking her brain to figure out what it could’ve been to make him do such a thing, but she didn’t dare ask why.
Instead, she gave him his space.  They sat in complete silence until the movie ended, and as soon as it did, she stood and excused herself to her room.  Satoru didn’t protest, he didn’t say anything.  Just sat on the sofa while she walked away.
When she was gone, he dropped his head back against the cushion, letting out a groan of frustration.  For some reason, his mind wandered to the little spat he’d had with Nanami, the day he’d punched a wall.
She doesn’t belong to anyone, the blonde man’s voice was dry as he’d spoken, but somehow it made his words all the more harsh.
The white haired sorcerer dragged a hand over his face, shutting his eyes and wishing he was able to distract himself from his own ridiculous angst.
She doesn’t belong to anyone.
Satoru wasn’t sure that was so true. ___
“It was just weird,” (y/n) shook her head, happily snatching the cigarette from Shoko’s hand as soon as she’d slid it from it’s carton.  “I’ve never seen him be so quiet for so long.  Honestly, I didn’t know he was capable of it”
The brunette chuckled, producing a lighter from the pocket of her white coat, and leaning over to light the cigarette that hung between (y/n’s) lips.
“You must have stunned him to silence” She mused.
“I don’t know,” (y/n) shrugged, taking a drag once the cig was lit.  “I think he was just… upset”
Shoko hums.
It wasn’t smart to be smoking in the dorms, and surely if someone smelled the distinct scent of smoke, (y/n) was going to be in grave trouble for it.  But it was a little chilly outside, and the pair didn’t feel like shivering in their usual spot on the roof.
(y/n) leans back on her bed, kicking her feet towards her pillow, and hanging her head off the edge of the mattress.  Shoko sat opposite of her, with her back to the headboard, and her legs crossed at her ankles.
“You two have been spending more time together than usual,” The brunette comments, “Somethin’ I should know?”
(y/n) lets out a short chuckle, blindly passing the cig back.  Shoko leans forward to pluck it from her fingers.
“Absolutely not”
“Hm,” Shoko hums around the cigarette between her lips.  “Doth protest too much,” She says with a small giggle.  “You used to despise one on one time with Satoru.  Remember when we first met?”
(y/n) smiles fondly at the memory.  A few more trickled into her mind.  Their first year together at Jujutsu Tech had been a fun ride.  Messy, but fun.
“Of course”
It’s quiet for a few beats, both girls lost in their own memories.  (y/n’s) not sure if she thought so back then, but life was so, so much easier.  It seems now she carries the weight of the world, of her choices, consequences, regrets, a heavy chain that binds her of every mistake she’s chosen, every wrong path she’d walked.
Back then, all she had to worry about was exorcizing curses, getting stronger, getting her homework done on time.  Her eyes fall shut, and she lets out a sigh as she remembers the old days that were a mere few years ago.
“Shoko,”
Her voice is barely above a whisper.  Her friend hums in response, and hands the cigarette back, feeling like (y/n) needed it more in that moment.
“You asked me once what I think I would do if I wasn’t a jujutsu sorcerer”
Shoko hums once more.
“You’ve finally thought about it?”
She wonders if (y/n) was finally about to admit to her rendezvous with her secret lover.
“Yeah,” (y/n) replies.  “I think I’d like to be a mother”
Shoko doesn’t reply right away, a bit stunned.  That wasn’t anything like she was expecting, and as she wrapped her mind around the thoughtful choice, she felt a pit in her stomach begin to grow.
“You could still be a mother” She informs.
(y/n) tilts her head up, peering at her friend from the end of the bed.  There’s a smile on her face, but Shoko can see as plain as day that it was empty.
“I could never bring children into this world” She says.  Her voice is solemn, final.  As if the notion would be the cruelest thing she’s ever heard.
“Too selfish?” Shoko muses.
(y/n) drops her head again.  Her hair hangs low, almost touching the ground.
“Something like that” (y/n) agrees in a mumble.
“What makes you think of that now?” Shoko asks, flicking the cigarette over the ashtray on (y/n’s) bedside table.
She’d had it for some time, a little ceramic dish with a pretty, flowery design.  It was almost perfectly clean.
“I don’t know” She murmurs back.
Her eyes shut as she raises her arms over her head, letting them hang down towards the ground until her knuckles rest there.  She knows fully well why she thinks of it.
“Liar,” Shoko purrs.  “We’ve been friends a long time.  Not once have you learned how to lie to me”
(y/n) chuckles, dragging her fingers over the rough carpet on her floor.  There, she traces designs mindlessly.
“Not once have you been bothered when I lie to you” She whispers back.
Shoko lazily shrugs a shoulder, smiling to herself.
“I’m not one to need to know everyone’s business,” She says honestly.  “I like a little mystery.  Keeps things interesting”
“Guess you’re right” (y/n) mumbles.  Her fingertip drags in a straight line, watching the short fibers of her carpet be spread apart.
“And I know if something was important, you’d tell me,” Shoko adds.  She waits for a response, patiently.  Asking (y/n) to open up was a difficult task, but if anyone was able to make her crack, it was Shoko.
(y/n’s) finger halts on the ground, and she stares at the spot for a moment.
“Right?” Shoko’s voice is smaller than before, almost uncertain.
(y/n) lays her palm flat against the ground, leaving it there for a second before sliding it over the line in the carpet she’d made.  With her palm, the fibers stand straight together again, erasing any evidence that she’d separated them. “Of course,” She says, as confidently as she can.  “You know I would”
Shoko nods, chuckling awkwardly to herself.
“I know,” She replies.  “Just making sure, I guess”
You’re getting better at lying, Shoko thinks, looking at her friend who couldn’t even look her in the eye.  But still not good enough for me to believe you.
“Shoko,” (y/n) whispers after a beat of silence.  “What do you know about the Zen’in Clan?”
Finally, she lifts her head, propping her elbows on the bed to keep her body angled up just enough to properly look at her friend.  Shoko looks utterly confused, her brows furrowed and her lips pressed into a line.
“Not much…” She trails off, her head tilting to the side as she regard (y/n) with clear and utter concern.  “Why?”
(y/n) shakes her head, turning to stare at a spot on the wall so she wouldn’t have to lie to her face again.
“Just wondering”
“(y/n)...” Shoko leans forward a bit, just off the headboard, enough to bring her friend’s gaze back to hers.  “What business do you have with the Zen’in Clan?”
(y/n) gulps as Shoko’s eyes prod into hers worriedly.
Only a child that’s rightfully theirs, she thinks.
“I thought it was more interesting to not know everything” (y/n) throws her words back at her, but there’s no tease in her tone.  She’s quiet, hesitant.
The reversed cursed technique master chews on her lip, troubled.
Was she seeing someone from the Zen’in Clan? She wondered.  Is that what all this was about? It would certainly explain the sneaking around, the sudden need for her to keep things private.  If she was hooking up with a Zen’in, it was definitely wise of her to not have told Satoru.
But a question still remained in Shoko’s head.
Why?
“They’re a force to be reckoned with, (y/n),” Shoko cautions.  “If you do have business with them…”
“Cut it off, right?” (y/n) lets out a bitter huff of a laugh.  She drops her head to stare at her lap.  She’d known that since day one.
“I was going to say, tread carefully,” Shoko says, and (y/n’s) eyes meet hers once more, surprised.  She’d thought for certain that her friend would try to pry, to talk her out of what she was doing.  “I don’t want you to get hurt”
“I won’t”
“When it comes to the Zen’ins, you probably will,” Shoko says, a bittersweet smile tugging on her lips.  “They’re bad news, (y/n)”
“Trust me,” (y/n) sighs.  “I know”
The subject was dropped after that, both girls curling up in (y/n’s) small bed as the night grew near.  Shoko smoked one last cigarette, scrolling mindlessly through her phone.  (y/n) laid with her back to her, staring at her wall as she processed what the next step for her had to be.
She’d known for a while that as he got older, it would be harder to hide him from the Zen’in Clan.  The growth of his cursed energy was bound to happen.  She’d just never thought it would happen so soon.  And now she was backed into a rock and a hard place.  Training him to properly hone his ability, while also concealing it, was going to be quite the chore.  She wasn’t sure if she was the right sorcerer for the job, if she was strong enough to protect him alone.
Her hands gripped the edge of her blanket, pulled close to her chin.
Even if she wasn’t strong enough, she’d have to be. ___
Gojo Satoru glared at his reflection in the mirror, or more specifically, glared at the bags under his eyes.  It wasn’t unlike him to have a bad night’s sleep, most nights he was lucky to get a couple hours, but the dark circles were not a welcome addition to his otherwise perfect face.
The knock on his door disturbed his thoughts, but it was welcomed.  He needed a break from focusing on the only physical insecurity he’d had in a while.
When he swung the door open, Shoko stood there, and instantly invited herself in.  She spoke before he could say anything, or react to her sudden visit at all.
The brunette plopped herself down in his desk chair, crossing her arms and staring at him with a serious look in her eye that Satoru didn’t often see.
“It’s time to talk about (y/n)”  ___

Hi. In honor of Jewel, I’d like to request something with Seokjin and his d*ck resting on the counter lmao
Tumblr media
pairing: best friend!seokjin x gn!reader genre: friends/idiots to lovers, humor, fluff word count: 1245 & 2 texts rating: mature (because they're talking about the dick perch, there's no smut) warnings: they talk about the dick perch, they're both kind of menaces, jimin makes a brief background appearance a/n: this is the first request i got for @ugh-yoongi's birthday drabble event and i completely lost it. i also hope it's not just me that thinks this is funny. but it's okay if it is 😂 also i promise there is literally no angst, the title is just something they tease each other about fun piece of jewel lore: we (i) tried to get this picture screen printed on a cake for a surprise bachelorette party for jewel. not only did the bakery not understand the assignment, but the cake wasn't even good. so, a definite fail, but the thought was there.
Tumblr media
There’s a lot that you’ve just gotten used to during your friendship with Seokjin. That he’s always going to ask you to taste some new recipe he’s trying when you come over for dinner. That he’s always going to have the absolute best wine and turn his nose up when you show up with something cheap. That he uses the perfect meal to say the things he can’t. That he’s actually the best cook you’ve met without ever taking any classes. That you can’t interrupt him when he’s in the middle of playing a video game without getting a lecture or it actually being an emergency. That he doesn’t feel at home in large groups and, despite all his charm, he would rather be off to the side. Or, better yet, home in his pajamas. That, in some ways, he never fully grew up. That he’s always going to be there for you in his own way, even if he doesn’t have the words. That his laugh is always going to be one of your favorite sounds, even if it’s also completely obnoxious.
But, worst of all, you have to accept the fact that he is always going to be painfully hot no matter what. It didn’t really bother you the first time you met him. He was charming and dorky and had the worst sense of humor (that had you barely able to breathe from laughing). No, it wasn’t until a group of you had gone out drinking and you crashed at Seokjin’s apartment that you truly realized the unfairness of it all. You woke up feeling like death warmed over, make-up smudged with bags under your eyes and hair going in unnatural directions. Seokjin, by contrast, came walking into the kitchen bare-faced and still looking like he was photoshoot ready. Talk about irritating.
That’s not actually the worst of it, you realize, when you get a text from your best friend. He’s dying his hair, a feat you told him would be better left until you could get there to help him. But he’s also stubborn, sometimes, so he carries on anyway. The proof is in a picture that he sends to you showing him in the bathroom with gloves on and purple on his previously bleached blond hair. You’re considering if his hands have always been that big or if the gloves make them look bigger when you notice something else. Something else that looks...big. Something else you definitely should not be looking at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s fucking with you. He absolutely has to be fucking with you. Because there is no way that he has his dick fully resting on the counter without noticing it. And there’s no way that it’s just a fold in his pants. There’s also no way you’re going to admit to your best friend that one of the first things you noticed was the outline of his dick resting on the counter. You’re pretty sure you don’t even want to think that word again. So, fine. If he wants to post that photo exactly as it is, who are you to stop him?
Ten minutes later you get the notification that he’s posted the picture to Instagram, which is much less time than it usually takes him to pick the right filter and the right caption. You only know because he turned your notifications on for him one day and acted affronted that you might turn them off. Even still, as your little way to regain some semblance of control in the friendship, you wait until you like it. It’s the small things.
However, when you do go to like it, you see a much higher number of likes than normal, along with several people commenting heart eyes or fire emojis under it. One comment sticks out, though, from yours and Seokjin’s friend, Jimin. All it says is: hyung, i’m not sure you thought this out before posting. You snort to yourself immediately because leave it to Jimin to just come out and say it. You can imagine the text conversation as you sit there. Can almost hear Jimin’s real laugh and Seokjin’s reaction. When your own phone rings, it startles you out of the thought.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?” Seokjin nearly screeches before you finish saying hello.
“Hi to you too,” you respond.
“No, sorry, was that what you meant when you said I should crop it?” Seokjin carries on.
“I’m missing several pieces to whatever you’re trying to ask,” you answer even though you do know what he means. You’ve known Seokjin long enough to know that he texted Jimin and to guess at how that chat went.
“Please don’t act dumb, you already liked my photo,” he starts.
“Because you forbid me from turning off your notifications and missing out on, to quote you, your incredible hotness that’s a gift to us all,” you interject.
“And I know you must have seen the comments, so you saw Jimin,” Seokjin carries on like you hadn’t interrupted.
“Jimin says a lot of things,” you counter.
“Well I called him and he informed me that you can clearly see my dick outlined through my pants on the counter. And then when I said you suggested cropping the picture, he laughed for a full minute before telling me to call you and hanging up,” Seokjin explains.
You curse internally. Just like there’s a lot to get used to with your friendship with Seokjin, there’s even more to accept with your friendship with Jimin. He’s actually really grounded and reliable. The kind of person you can tell anything to. The only problem? He never forgets and makes damn sure you never do either. Case in point: your crush on your best friend.
“Well?” Seokjin prompts when you’re quiet for too long.
“Well what?” you ask.
“Were you looking at my dick in the picture? Is that why you suggested I crop it?” Seokjin continues on, unashamed.
“Ew, don’t say it like that,” you deflect.
“Say what like what?” he asks.
“You know, your…just don’t say it like that,” you stumble.
“You can’t even say it,” Seokjin barks out, obnoxious laugh making you pull the phone away from your ear.
“That wasn’t what I was looking at anyway,” you lie.
“You’re a terrible liar,” Seokjin says, but it’s soft in a way you’re not used to. “But hey, I actually wanted to try this new recipe if you wanted to come over for dinner.”
“Seokjin, are you asking me out?” There’s something about the softness in his voice that makes you bold. Makes you think maybe you’re not in this alone.
“What? No, of course not!” he nearly shouts, voice pitching up at the end.
“You can’t even say it,” you tease back.
Seokjin grumbles on the other end of the call. “Fine, you don’t have to.”
“I’d love to come have dinner with you, but only if you admit it’s a date,” you offer.
“It’s not a…actually, yes I’ll call it a date if…” Seokjin starts.
“Yes, Jin, I was looking at your dick,” you say quickly. “Okay, see you tonight for dinner!”
You hang up the phone before he can say anything else and have a moment of satisfaction imagining his face. It’s so easy to see the way he’d look at his phone, the way the blush on his ears would give him away. You think, for the first time in awhile, this might all be okay.

He'll Be Here | In My Life Again - Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw [2/2]

Part one - two (French version)
Summary : ten years later, Bradley wants to apologize for the way it ended between you and him.
Warnings : set after Top Gun Maverick, Mitchell!reader, angst, happy ending, maybe some grammatical as English is not my first language, tell me if you see some or if I missed any warnings.
Word count : 3.6k
Song inspiration : The Last Time (Feat. Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol) (Taylor's Version) by Taylor Swift
After spending several hours working on Pete’s P-51 Mustang, this latter and Bradley go to have a drink in Pete’s kitchen. Bradley sits down while Pete opens the fridge and looks for two beers ; Bradley’s eyes find a picture on the wall, he looks at his eighth birthday photo with nostalgia. His cake is in front of him and you by his side. Both of you have a huge smile on your face, ignorant of what the future would hold for you. Bradley’s heart tightens in his chest when Bradley remembers he’ll never have the opportunity of seeing your radiant smile on your face whilst he’s next to you again.
Pete puts a beer in front of Bradley and snaps him out of his thoughts. He thanks him and takes a sip, his eyes finding their way back to the picture, in spite of him.
“You know,” Bradley starts, catching Pete’s attention, “that day, there was a moment where Y/N wasn’t next to me anymore so I went to look for her. I found her hiding in my closet with tears in her eyes. When I asked her what was the matter, she just told me to not pay attention to her, that I needed to stay with my other friends. I said to her I didn’t care about them, especially because she needed me at that moment. That’s when she confessed she was scared of losing me because I had met friends my age who would replace her. I couldn’t believe she thought that !” he exclaims, his eyes wide open. “In my head, it was obvious she could never be replaced, no matter how close I was to my other friends so I promised her she’d never lose me, that I’ll always be by her side. No matter what. I made her this promise and I’ve been breaking it for ten years now.” Bradley mutters, looking down.
“Have you tried talking to her ?” Pete asks, after a few seconds.
“Yes, several times over the years. The first time was a year after our breakup. I wasn’t far away from her Uni so I went to see her. Long story short, she told me to get lost. The last time was a week ago when she came back. I got the same reaction.”
“I’m sure she just needs a bit of time.” Pete reassures him, putting his hand on Bradley’s shoulder. “I never thought you’d talk to me again and look at us ! Things can get better. The bond you two shared was strong.” he affirms.
“I find that hard to believe, she hates me. And don’t even try to tell me otherwise.” Bradley adds, seeing Pete was about to talk. “She hates me and it’s understandable.” he admits, sadly. “She had nothing to do with all of this and yet I hold her accountable just the same. And the worst part is she warned me.” he specifies, taking another sip. “There were numerous times where she told me to get my shit together and stop ruining our relationship because of my anger toward you but I didn’t listen to her. I took her for granted so I kept messing up until she got tired of it and I’ve been paying the price ever since.” Bradley exclaims, bitterly. “You know, I’ve accepted the fact she’d never forgive me, however I’d still like to apologise properly. I just want her to know how much I regret how things ended between us, no matter if she answers me or just insults me. It might be too late but she deserves me to fix my mistakes, no matter if she forgives me.”
“I can talk to her if you want to. I can convince her to listen to you.”
“No, don’t say anything.” Bradley refuses after drinking. “If she listens to me I want it to be because she wants to, not because you asked her to.”
“As you wish.” he concedes with a heavy heart.
The two men stay silent for a moment, enjoying their drink. Bradley is finally able to detach his gaze from the photo, staring into the void.
“You still love her, don’t you ?” Pete asks, bringing Bradley’s eyes on him.
“And I always will. She was my first friend and my first love. She’ll always have a place in my heart even if I don’t have one in hers anymore. I miss her so much, Mav’, if you knew.” Bradley confesses, tearing up.
“She’ll never say it out loud but she misses you too. Bradley, I promise you things will get better between the two of you.”
Bradley takes the last sip of his beer, hoping it’ll help him with his tears and the knot in his throat. At the same time he puts the bottle down, the main door opens. He knows it’s you so he quickly stands up. He doesn’t want to give you another reason to hate him therefore he tries not to run into you, though his heart only wants that. You walk in the kitchen, talking about your afternoon with Penny and Amelia to your father until you find Bradley. Instantly, you tense up and glare at your former best friend. Bradley bids goodbye to you and Pete before leaving. Pete rolls his eyes at your attitude.
“What ? I didn’t tell him anything.” you defend yourself, searching for something in the fridge.
“You might as well have.”
“Look, it’s not because you forgave him that I have to be nice to him.” you retort, closing the fridge without finding anything interesting. “Unlike you, I haven’t forgotten the way he treated us, the way he cut us out of his life.”
“I haven’t forgotten either.”
“Really ? Because it sure seems like it. It seems you’ve forgotten the pain he caused us, caused me, all the nights I spent crying because of him, all the nights where you had to hold me in your arms while I was sobbing.”
“I remember very well.” Pete admits, trying to stay calm, “But Y/N, he’s changed, okay ? Besides, he was grieving, he was hurt, angry and young-”
“Young ?” you cut him, furious. “He was twenty-five ! He was a grown ass adult, he knew very well what he was doing.”
“Okay, he has his faults as well, but he really feels bad about the way he treated you. You could at least listen to him.” he suggests and you roll your eyes.
“And did he listen to you when you tried to explain yourself ? He sent you packing. I don’t get why I should be the one making an effort. And as my father, shouldn’t you be telling me to stay away from him ?”
“Not when I know what you mean to each other.”
“He doesn’t mean anything to me. And for a long time now.” you state.
“It’s not true and you know it.”
“I don’t understand why you insist so much.”
“I’m responsible for your fallout.”
“He messed up himself.” you correct, tearing up. “He’s the one who let his anger destroy what we had. He’s the one who distanced himself from me. He ruined everything himself.”
“It’s true, nonetheless you can’t deny if I hadn’t pulled his papers, you’d still be together. Hell, you’d probably even be married with a kid now !”
“Wow, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” you say, shocked. “If he hadn’t fucked up, we’d probably still be together, yeah but the fact is you’re not responsible for it. Look, I’m glad you two put your differences aside, it just won’t be the case for me. Anyway, we should stop here.” you order, crossing your arms on your chest. “I don’t want to argue with you, I only have two weeks left with you before I go home.”
“You can be stubborn at times !” he sighs.
“I got that from my dad.” you smile at him.
“Sometimes,  I wish you hadn’t.”
You roll your eyes and laugh a little before starting to leave the room.
“He came back for me.” Pete confesses, stopping you in your tracks.
“What are you talking about ?”
“During my last mission.”
“I thought it was Hangman.” you say, frowning.
“Hangman came to save us when we were on our way home. Bradley had strict orders to leave me behind when I sacrificed myself for him. But he came back. He didn’t listen and he came back. Without him, I probably wouldn’t have been able to leave the enemy territory.”
“Why didn’t you tell me that before ?” you ask softly.
“Bradley told me not to. He didn’t want you to think he did that out of interest.”
You stay silent for a few moments, taking in this new piece of information. You can’t help but feel grateful for Bradley, though your anger is still there.
“It’s good to know that, at least, in the air, he has your back.” you state, leaving.
Pete sighs, seeing you walk away. He knows he promised Bradley to not get in the middle of this - even Penny told him to stay out of it, yet he can’t help it. You and Bradley were childhood best friends. He never would have imagined you’d stop talking to each other, in particular because of him. That’s why he can’t stay silent. He might have been the cause of your conflit but he wants to be the reason for your reconciliation. Furthermore, he knows he can reason you and with this last information, he was hoping it’d make you change your mind. Pete can’t help but feel a heartache, understanding it’s not the case.
However, what Pete doesn’t know is that your conversation has affected you. That night, you can’t seem to fall asleep. Your father’s words and your story with Bradley are echoing in your head. You keep tossing and turning in your bed, desperately hoping to put your brain on hold.
Once you can’t take it anymore, you turn on your bedside lamp and stand up. You walk to your closet and open it. You take a deep breath before pushing some clothes to the side in the corner of your closet until you find a box, you haven’t opened it for years. When you had started to grieve your romance with Bradley, you had put every picture, letter and object reminding you of him in that box. You were still too attached to him to throw everything away but too hurt to keep everything next to you.
The box in your hand, you sit down and open it. Tears make their way to your eyes in an instant as soon as you find your prom photo - if your heart wasn’t hurting that much, you’d laugh at your dress. In the picture, you’re looking at each other lovingly. You wish you could go back to this moment where everything was easier.  You put the picture next to you and keep finding others from birthday parties, outings, travels you did at different ages. You hold back your tears until you read the letter he wrote for your eighteenth birthday. At that moment, it becomes too much so you quickly put everything back at its place and go back to bed.
Of course, you’re still hurting from your breakup. Bradley was the most important person to you though you can’t forget the way it ended. With what your father told you, Bradley seems to be the Bradley you used to love once more but you can’t risk another heartbreak.
For the first time in ten years, your heart seems torn between staying mad at Bradley or hearing him out. You try to reason yourself, remembering why you’re angry at him in the first place, though it’s complicated now.
Tumblr media
Sitting at the restaurant near Top Gun, you finish telling your order to the waiter. Once he leaves, you grab your phone and send a text to your father to inform him you’ve already ordered. You’re supposed to eat with Pete who is more than thirty minutes late and quite frankly, you’re starving. You don’t worry when you get no response, knowing he probably hasn’t finished working yet.
While waiting for your food, you keep checking your phone until the hostess comes to you. Expecting to see your dad, you put your phone down, smiling. Your smile disappears as soon as you see Bradley. The woman wishes you a nice meal before leaving you two alone. Bradley is uncomfortable because of the look you’re giving.
“What are you doing here ?” you question, drily.
“Huh, I’m supposed to eat with Mav’.”
“No, I am supposed to eat with him and…”, you start before understanding the conversation, “I can’t believe he did that.” you sigh, making Bradley frown. “He’s set it up to be sure we’d see each other. Look, I’ve already ordered and I’m sure you don’t have a lot of time left before you have to get back to work so we can eat together.”
“You don't mind ?”
“It’s just for a meal.” you say as he sits down. “I see you’re still punctual.” you comment, sarcastically, Bradley looks at you confused. “I was supposed to meet my dad at noon. You’re thirty minutes late.” you inform, checking your notifications on your phone.
“He told me he reserved for half past twelve.”
“He really thought about everything.”
The waiter gives you your meal then, he takes Bradley’s order before going back to the kitchen.
You start eating silently. Bradley doesn’t stop moving on his seat, not knowing how to act around you. You don’t like the palpable tension either, you’re in the same situation as him. Before, your conversations didn’t have an end, a subject would always appear naturally. Now, you think twice before speaking, not wanting to create an awkward moment.
You stay in this heavy silence until the waiter gives Bradley his plate. Bradley sighs in relief, finally having something to do instead of being uncomfortable. When you’re done eating, you take a sip of your glass of water before talking.
“My father told me what you did for him on your last mission. Thank you for coming back for him.”
“You don’t have to thank me. I could have never left Mav’ behind.” Bradley genuinely states.
You smile at him quickly and Bradley takes this start of conversation as a small victory. He’s grateful for Pete’s help, even if he didn’t listen to him. Bradley tells himself that this moment is his only chance to fix his wrongs with you so he finishes eating the piece of meat he has in his mouth and clears his throat to catch your attention.
“Y/N, can I talk to you ? You don’t have to say anything. I’d be happy if you only listened to me.”
“Go ahead.”
Bradley take a deep breath before looking deeply in your eyes and starting to speak :
“Look, I know I messed up with you. I’ll forever feel bad for the way we broke up. I should have come at your birthday and-”
“Are you seriously talking about that ?” you question, in disbelief. “Bradley, it’s not the thing-”
“I know I did worse.” he interrupts you, knowing what you were going to say. “I know your birthday isn’t what hurt you the most, the fact is, it was your breaking point. Had I come, we might have found a solution, maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation. I’m sorry for that night, I know I hurt you by not coming. I also know I broke your heart by ignoring you and your dad after we broke up or with what I said. I know it’s not an excuse but I was in this awful period of my life and I had to exteriorize what I was feeling and when Pete pulled my paper, it was on him then on you. I never should have lashed out on you because our relationship got damaged and that affacted our friendship, too, and for this, I’d forever be mad at myself. I should have prioritised you. I hate knowing I made you cry. I never would have thought I’d be the cause of your pain. I’m sincerely sorry for everything, above all I’m sorry for breaking my promise. If I could, I’d go back in time, I’d do everything to not lose you, to not break my promise. And maybe I’m pushing my luck right now but you’ve listened to me this far so I might as well say it ;  if you agreed to give me another chance, I’d love to be a part of your life again. You still mean a lot to me.”
Bradley finally breathes once he’s done talking. He’s sick in his stomach, fearing your reaction. Before, he could predict what you were gonna say or do with just one look. He doesn’t like the way you’ve become strangers. You need a few seconds to take in what he told you before replying.
“Thank you for everything you said. I appreciate your apologies but I need time.” you confess before looking at the time on your phone. “I have to go. I’m gonna pay.”
“I can totally-”
“I insist. Take this as a thank you for my father. Goodbye Bradley.”
Contrary to ten years ago, your goodbye is full of nostalgia and not of bitterness. Bradley stays static for a few moments, eyes on the restaurant’s door you’ve just walked through. Sure, nothing is done yet. You didn’t say you wanted him in your life again however you listened to him and that’s all that matters. He can only hope this victory is big enough to bring you back to him.
The next few days and nights, you’re lost in your thoughts which have Bradley as a main character. You think back to his words and specifically of the way you two used to be before everything bad happened. You were fine, close and in love. The months after your breakup, you wanted to have this once more, before your hurt turned into anger. If Bradley had tried apologising at that moment and not a year later, you would have forgiven him in a heartbeat.
Now, you’re hesitating. You’re scared there’s going to be another conflict and Bradley decides to cut you out of his life once more. You wouldn’t handle it if it were to happen. Though, you wish to have Bradley in your life one more time.
While you’re thinking, you see Bradley occasionally as he comes to your place. You don’t talk but you observe him and a part of you wants to have him close. Pete keeps speaking up for Bradley, more or less discreetly. All of this is making you change your mind and breaking the walls you had built around your heart.
After another night of staying awake, you tell yourself it’s time to speak with Bradley. You can’t stay like this anymore. Therefore, when the sun is up, you muster up your courage and call Bradley. You tell him to meet you at your place at a certain hour at the end of the afternoon, knowing Pete will be with Penny so you’ll be alone.
Your anxiety at its highest, you’re sitting on your couch and playing with a loose strand of a pillow. Despite the TV on, your eyes go from the door then to the time on your phone. There’s a knot in your stomach as you have a feeling of déjà vu.
You feel like you’re twenty-three once again, in your old house with your party dress and your red lipstick, waiting desperately for Bradley, only this time, he arrives on time, like he promised. Indeed, five minutes later, you hear a car parking in your driveway before someone knocks on your door. With one movement, you stand up after turning off the TV then, you open the door, finding Bradley, putting his Hawaiian shirt back in place. You let him in and you go to your living room.
When you’re sitting next to each other, your stress grows stronger. Was this a good idea ? What if now it was too late for him ? What if he got tired of waiting for so long ? As for Bradley, his mind is not at ease either : ‘maybe she just wants to tell me face to face she doesn’t want to see me anymore ? Or maybe in addition to her life, she doesn’t want me in Mav’s life either ?’. Finally, you’re the one cutting the tension.
“I’ve been thinking,” you begin, avoiding his gaze, “about what you told me and about us.” you state, setting your eyes on him. “Although I appreciate your apology, a part of me can’t help but think back to all the times where you apologised just to hurt me every chance you got.” you keep saying and Bradley’s heart tightens in his chest. “Though, I want to believe this time will be different. After all, if it worked out between you and my dad, why not us ? I want to forgive you, have you in my life again, however it’s the last time I forgive you, I won’t have the strength to do this one more time. I don’t know if we’ll ever have what we used to have and maybe our friendship will never be as strong as it used to be but I miss you so much. I miss my best friend.” you confess, tears in your eyes.
“I miss you so much, too, Y/N.”
“If it’s not too late for you, I still want you in my life as well.” you whisper, avoiding his gaze.
“You’ve always been the one I want, it’s never been too late for me.” Bradley affirms with a determined voice, putting his hand on your cheek. “I promise you it’s the last time, I won’t hurt you anymore and you will not lose me either and I will really keep these promises.”
Without thinking, you throw yourself in Bradley’s arms and hold against you the person you missed the most the past ten years.

Hello! I think I've got a good one. First off, for the sake of this request, let's pretend that Rook was somehow able to attend Camp Vargas (We're reaching SO far, but it's fine) and he has a male s/o who was also attending the camp (whether he's Yuu or not, I'll leave up to you), but he has serious trauma from being kidnapped by a serial killer when he was younger. And so, when Vargas captures and ties him up, the reader starts losing it and having a panic attack, thinking he's going to die. How would Rook react to this?
Hey, Anon! Thanks for sharing your brain rot ideas regarding Rook, because we love our ridiculous and theatrical hunter. Truly a wild set of circumstances I've been presented, but I love it!
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw Rook attending Camp Vargas purely because the man is so athletic. He wields a huge bow with great accuracy and is proficient in stealth. He would easily be able to sneak in and just lay in wait, taking pictures secretly in the trees. The reason he would be there in the first place would absolutely be to take photographs.
Honestly, even without the extremeness of "got kidnapped by a serial killer," I can see someone having a panic attack just in general by getting kidnapped. I mean certain traumas can trigger people's fight, flight, or freeze response and it's a big mood.
What will come next is just me free writing my ideas for this, so here's y'all's present I guess lol. Also, note that I have not actually read the Vargas Camp event, but have a vague idea of what kinda went down during the event lol.
Oh my god, wait, to elaborate on this idea or whatever. I could totally see Rook in the trees, watching the whole kidnapping thing go down. Then, when Vargas would leave to claim his next unsuspecting victim, Rook would drop down next to you. Cooing in your ear that you were safe and are going to be ok, he would cut the ropes off you. Probably holding you close and just rocking you back in forth lovingly while you calm down from your panic attack. You would probably be clinging onto him and his big muscles like a koala. He would be whispering sweet words of affirmations in your ear, as he moves you to somewhere safer. Aka away from the pile of other victims lol...
You know, he would probably cut the other victims free just to cause some more fun chaos and trouble for Ashton. He probably knows that the person behind the kidnappings was Ashton anyway, because Rook is so perceptive... I could totally imagine him deciding to exact a "friendly" revenge on him for messing and actually traumatizing his beloved by telling the other victims that the culprit was Ashton and maybe some other important information to help them successfully get back at their teacher lol. Rook wouldn't have time in the moment to personally get back at him, because he would be too busy taking care of you!! Ahhh, so sweet! We love our hunter boy. Taking care of us and making sure that we feel ok and safe (in his arms lol). I can imagine that there would be cuddles as you hear the sounds of absolute chaos and screaming in the distance perhaps watching the whole fight go down from afar. The kids rebelling and enacting a revolution to overthrow Vargas. Sounds about right. I wouldn't be surprised if that would happen in game low key lol.
Ohhhh, and you know what would be the cherry on the cake? Having the reader specifically thinking and praying (maybe whimpering lol) while they're getting kidnapped that Rook would save them even though he wasn't at camp or whatever. And then having Rook actually show up?!!! *throws myself on the floor and dies* It's such a good idea. Good job, anon, you've successfully murdered me.
You also surprisingly got me to vaguely write/elaborate on your request low key, and that my dude is a feat within itself. Like I'm truly impressed. *applauds you from the floor*

So……
Finally we are actually getting some info and not skipping to someone else!
Tumblr media
I gotta say… I did not see that coming but I’m loving it!!! Some good old war tactics and not just charging in head first (coughLuffycough). Love it. It shows exactly how long this has been building up for! So far we have only speculated how good of a strategist Dragon was based on few little cues but to actually see the extent… I’m glad I was right! No offense to Luffy: it’s fun to see him punch people, but this is more my piece of cake. Also… KARMA IS COMING BACK BITCHES!!!
Tumblr media
Anything that can make Dragon make that face is a big no-no in my books… This is going to be fun: I can’t wait to see them all fight seriously!!! Also… is that Shanks? Or his evil twin maybe?
Tumblr media
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! Finally! Someone said it! People really need to take Dragon’s words here and tattoo them on their foreheads. We need more of him in the real world… I’m real glad we are getting some answers to the key questions we (o at least I) had on the revolution. Again, we always speculated and there were debates around but to have it put black on white is great!
Tumblr media
This opens a whole fucking gate on how different the revolution is from what Luffy is doing, for example. They are an army: they fight a war that is bigger than all of them and it needs sacrifices, it’s not all happy-go-lucky. Yes, they know there are bad and good kings. Yes, they are saddened if something happens to the good ones. BUT! They know the general public doesn’t and won’t understand that. They know that things are too complicated to be just black and white but that sometimes that’s all people can see. And they are not above getting their hands dirty if it’s what is needed. They all have a heavy weight on their consciences but they will gladly carry it if it means that the generations after them won’t have to. Sabo’s cold statement here and Dragon’s sarcastic comment just a second later make that very clear. Their hands are covered in blood already. And I adore that Oda is going with this more realistic version of a war and has not just decided to put together a bunch of idealists that are destined to fail. I love how it all works as a sort of balance to Luffy and the Strawhats. The revolutionaries are older, more seasoned realists and the Strawhats, while not exactly idealists either, are more dreamers and optimists. I know I’m generalizing but I think it gets the point across well enough. And I’m in love with all of this. Good job Oda!
Tumblr media
Yeah, I can see why that might look quite incriminating… I wasn’t so happy about the revolutionaries all just believing Sabo did it so easily if it was just a headline but I understand now that we know there was an actual picture. Like: boy, I raised you since you were a child, you are my most trusted and my second in command but wtf are you doing with a dead body in your living room?!?!?
Tumblr media
Happy to see them holding their grounds on a one on one. Sure, there were handicaps and all but still! That’s no small feat! It took like a fuckton of samurais plus a dragon to do that before and Morley is just here swinging that trident around!
Tumblr media
This is gonna be bad. This is going to be very, very bad. God, I hope we are sticking to this storyline and not cutting to someone else. I NEED ANSWERS ODA! NOW!
And now that I said it, next week we are going to see fucking everyone but this. You’re all welcome.
Love the Strawhats to pieces but I am realky enjoying these last chapters without them. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?

Thank you @fromriches-tosin !!!
Favourite canon scene:
You cannot go wrong with these!!! JUST LOOK AT EM. Its so pretty and heartwarming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A song that reminds you of them:
ITS LITERALLY THEM LIKE WHAAATT???
“I always thought I might be bad, now i’m sure that its true ‘cause I think your so good, and I’m nothing like you. Look at you go, I just adore you, I wish that I knew what makes you think I’m so special”
Favourite official picture/graphic
Its just so beautiful 😭
Tumblr media
Why do you ship them?:
I used to ship Erejean first but took off when I started to consider Reijean. Reiner and Jean are just meant for each other. Going back several times to watch the show to see their interactions sealed the deal for me. The way Jean looking up to Reiner when they were cadets and later saves Reiner in so many ways is so mind blowing to me. I just love the fact that Jean was not willing to let Reiner give up. Reiner has done so many bad things and yet Jean feels the need to care for him.
Favourite fanart:
All of the reijean art that @mikibagels has made. Period.
Favourite fanfic:
“Never let me go” by therealfinalgirl/fromriches-tosin
I literally cried so much reading this delectable fic. It made me feel so many emotions and I was sooo satisfied with the ending. The way the characters are written so fucking perfectly MY GOSH. (I have many favourites but this one takes the cake)

This Little Bunny
Premise: The kids are out trick-or-treating, but there’s one bunny too many for Max to handle.
Book: Open Heart (post series) Pairing: Sienna Trinh x Max Valentine (M!OC); feat. OC children Rating/Category: General. Fluff. Words: 1,650
A/N: Ages ago, I received a prompt from @jerzwriter about any of my characters losing their kids while out and about. Finally found the inspiration for it. I'm using @choicesflashfics week 57, prompt 3. Submission to @choicesprompts Flufftober.
Tumblr media
Amelia Valentine was excited for her first Halloween. Her siblings had done it millions of times, but then they were older than her. Of course, it wasn’t really her first Halloween; she was four years old, after all. But she didn’t remember the last ones on account of being too little. So, as far as she was concerned, they didn’t count.
Her big brother Noah boasted about all the candy he was going to get, but Amelia was more excited about Daddy taking them trick-or-treating and her costume. The white bunny with big blue eyes and floppy, pink ears was her favorite character from an old children’s movie.
Amelia squirmed in excitement, her eyes locked on the furry bunny suit laid out on the bed. She was already wearing thick leggings and a thick sweater since it was cold out. She didn’t want to wear a coat on top of her costume because then no one would see it.
“Hold still, Melly,” scolded Mommy as she brushed the tangles out of her hair.
“Is Daddy home yet?” Amelia asked, trying to hold herself still, but her body was vibrating with excitement. “He promised to take us trick-or-treating!”
“Yes, he came home while you were taking a bath,” Sienna Valentine said, rolling her eyes at Amelia’s apparent preference for Max.
What am I, chopped liver? Sienna thought in amused exasperation. Still, she was well used to females of all ages falling for her husband’s charm. Their daughters were hardly an exception.
She tightened her hold to keep the little girl still while she finished making her hair. Amelia was the only one of their children to have blonde curls, and taming them was an exercise in patience.
“There, all done,” Sienna said, sighing in relief. “Now, let’s turn you into Snowball.”
Amelia stepped into the jumpsuit, and Sienna zipped up the front and adjusted the hood with its floppy ears over her head. She applied a little gloss on her lips, drew thin whiskers with an eyeliner and dabbed some blush on the tip of her daughter’s nose to complete the look.
“Look,” she said, turning Amelia around to face the mirror.
When Amelia gasped in delight, preening at her reflection, Sienna smiled and snapped a picture on her phone. She would post them on the family group chat shortly for both sets of grandparents to gush over.
At the last minute, she remembered to pin a card with her name and phone number behind one of the ears. It was probably not needed, but she’d rather be safe than sorry.
“Cute bunny ears,” Max commented as they joined him and the other kids in the foyer. Amelia ran toward him, and he lifted her up in his arms for a hug. “Ready for trick-or-treating, Amelia Mai?”
“Are you sure about this?” Sienna pursed her lips worriedly as they stepped into the outside hallway.
With two of Belle’s friends joining them, Max would be responsible for supervising five children under the age of ten. Usually, Sienna would go trick-or-treating with them, but the baby was running a slight fever, and she didn’t feel right leaving him with the nanny.
“Please,” Max scoffed, raising one brow arrogantly. “I run a multi-billion dollar company. I can handle five kids. Piece of cake.”
A short while later, Max waited for the light to change and gripped Amelia’s hand in his as they crossed the street. He glanced at the gradually darkening skies and hoped the rain would hold off for another couple of hours.
Noah and Belle walked ahead of them with their friends, heads together, planning their route for optimal candy collection. His son was dressed up as Nick Fury, declaring him the coolest character from the Marvel universe. Belle was still in her princess phase and wore a tiara and poofy gown under her thick coat.
They reached a section of their neighborhood that had been closed off to traffic for the evening. Here, the houses were decked out for Halloween, from the macabre to the absurd.
The air was filled with the sounds of children shouting and running around and music from a band of musicians dressed like ghouls that had set up in the center of the street.
“Look, Daddy, there’s another Snowball.” Amelia tugged at his hand for attention.
Max glanced at the other trick-or-treaters on the pavement. There were a number of animal costumes, including several white bunnies, clearly a popular choice this year.
“My costume is better,” she sniffed dismissively.
He smirked at the hint of competitiveness in her tone. She could be shy at times, but Amelia was a Valentine through and through, he chuckled.
Letting go of her hand so she could join her siblings, he followed close behind while they visited the first few houses. He remarked on their candy haul, carried Amelia’s bag when she got tired after the third house and snapped a few pictures to send to Sienna.
It was all going well until they reached the sixth house. While the kids did their thing, Max leaned against a wrought iron railing and scrolled through the messages on his phones.
A few minutes later, the kids came tumbling down the steps, and he spied a white bunny out of the corner of his eyes. He absently grabbed Amelia’s hand, finished sending a text with one hand and pocketed the device as they continued down the street.
Two or three houses later, Max glanced down at the top of Amelia’s covered head and wondered why she was so quiet.
“Everything okay, honey?” he asked, frowning when she didn’t reply. “Amelia?”
He placed a hand on her shoulder to hold her in place while keeping one eye on the four walking up ahead.
“Noah, Belle, hold up,” Max called out and saw the older kids stop and start to walk back.
He crouched down on his haunches, turned Amelia around to face him, and almost fell on his ass when a stranger stared back at him from below the hood.
“Who are you?” Max whispered, his voice coming out strangled.
“Tommy,” the other boy said, scrunching his nose as he shrugged.
Max peered intently and realized it was a little boy roughly Amelia’s age and height. Given the similarity in their costumes, he reasoned it was an easy enough mistake to make. Not that it mattered. Sienna was going to kill him anyway!
“Dad, where’s Melly?” Noah asked, staring at the little boy in the white bunny costume. Max held up one hand in a gesture for Noah to wait.
Max tamped down the fear gripping his heart. It was a useless emotion. What he needed right now was to focus, find his daughter and return Tommy to his parents. He would have plenty of time later to relive this nightmare.
“Do you know your parents’ names, Tommy?” Max kept his tone gentle so as to not scare the kid. He sighed in relief when Tommy nodded and plopped a thumb in his mouth.
“What are their names?” Max prompted.
Tommy removed the thumb and whispered, “Mommy and Daddy.”
Okay then, Max thought, trying to hide his amusement at the response. “Did you come trick-or-treating with them?”
“Daddy brung me,” Tommy said.
“Let’s go find him. Okay?”
Formulating a plan, Max rose from the pavement, took Tommy’s hand and gazed at his son, who was looking worried.
“Noah, it’ll be alright. Please get Belle, Emma and Amy and follow me. And stay close,” he added when Noah turned to do as he asked.
Keeping all five kids in tow, Max retraced his steps to where he thought the switch might have occurred.
He remembered being distracted on his phone a few houses down and grabbing hold of what he thought was Amelia. But he hadn’t seen her face under the costume, and she hadn’t come running down the steps to show him her candy as she’d done before.
They were halfway there when his phone started ringing. He saw Sienna’s name on the screen and accepted the call, signaling the kids to stop and stand off to the side.
“How’s it going?” she asked, amusement coloring her voice.
“Oh, you know, fine,” Max stalled, sending a silent prayer that she couldn’t see the panic in his eyes.
“I see,” she said neutrally. “So, the phone call I just got from Tommy’s dad was a hoax, and he doesn’t have our daughter?”
Crap, crap, crap. Max closed his eyes briefly.
“I’m sorry, Si,” Max said, sighing deeply. “I’ll explain when we get home, but I’m pretty sure I know how this happened.”
“I can’t wait to hear this story. I’ll have the wine waiting,” Sienna laughed. “I’m texting you the dad’s number so you can meet up. If it’s any consolation, he’s just as embarrassed as you.”
A few minutes later, Max met up with Tommy’s dad and made the exchange. Both hemmed and hawed as they explained how they’d made a mistake, but they were also relieved at averting disaster.
The father and son waved goodbye and disappeared into the crowd of trick-or-treaters.
Noah and Belle surrounded Amelia, asking lots of questions, but Max plucked her into his arms and hugged her tight.
“Daddy, that’s too tight,” she complained against his neck.
“You really scared me, kiddo,” he said, loosening his hold to gaze into her eyes. “I’m so sorry I lost you.”
Almost an hour later, and after dropping Belle’s friends off, Max unlocked the front door and shepherded his kids inside. They rushed into the living room while he hung up his coat in the hall closet.
He walked in to find them gathered around Sienna, who was nodding and smiling as they narrated their adventures and showed off their bags of candy and snacks.
She glanced at Max, her eyes brimming with mischievous laughter. “Piece of cake, huh?”

Magicam Monsters
Feat. Leona Kingscholar, Jack Howl, Ruggie Bucchi, Jamil Viper, Idia Shroud
Requested by @thelazyhermits on Ko-fi! I owe you my life 😌.
Tumblr media
...
🦁 Leona Kingscholar 🦁
Tumblr media
He's busy enough with his own dorm being trashed that he doesn't even have time to visit you the whole Halloween week, which he's pretty pissed about.
When he finally gets to go to the Ramshackle dorm, he's just in time to see you shooing a few Magicam Monsters out the door with a broom.
These ones aren't particularly persistent so they leave without too much of a fight, not wanting to face your wrath again.
Leona manages to sneak past them and enter the dorm, not expecting you to start hitting him with a broom.
"I told you to stay ou- oh Leona, hi!"
You don't even apologize for whacking him, he deserved it.
When you tell him what's been happening with the Magicam Monsters, he is furious.
He can deal with nosy clout chasers bugging him but once they start invading your privacy, he gets absolutely LIVID.
You have to actively hold him back from turning the MMs to sand.
Eventually, you convince him not to seek revenge and to instead watch scary movies with you on the couch.
(and maybe make out during the scary parts)
...
🐺 Jack Howl 🐺
Tumblr media
He would usually be texting you updates throughout the day, but the MMs are so persistent, he hasn't even had a second to breathe.
You are rather worried that he hasn't responded to you but you can't even leave the dorm without having a camera shoved in your face.
Every annoying influencer wants a shot of the magic-less prefect and their pet cat.
Once the attackers finally relent and leave the dorm, you practically run to the coliseum where Jack was still fighting off the selfie sticks.
You managed to drag him away from the excitement long enough to fill him in on your situation.
He's just really sad that you can't even enjoy your first Halloween in Twisted Wonderland.
He promises to make it up to you after it's all over.
"We'll get some candy corn and caramel apples, and have a real normal Halloween party. Would that be okay?"
You laugh at how sweet he is, despite having problems of his own.
Even while dragging MMs out of your dorm, you still can think fondly of the celebration you'll have with Jack once Halloween is over.
...
🍩 Ruggie Bucchi 🍩
Tumblr media
Contrarily, he's the one complaining to you.
You've both had struggles with the relentless monsters throughout the whole week, but he's the brat between the two of you so you have to stroke his hair and comfort him while he tells you about his problems.
While you're cuddling, a MM manages to sneak in through the window and tries to take pictures of the two of you.
You gently remove Ruggie's head from your lap before not-so-gently snatching the intruder phone and dragging them out of the dorm by their ear.
Ruggie is watching in awe as you scold the intruder like a puppy.
He's honestly a little bit attracted to your mean side.
After you slam the door in the MMs face, you hold up their phone that you confiscated.
"How much do you think we could sell this for?"
You're literally the most perfect partner in the world.
...
🐍 Jamil Viper 🐍
Tumblr media
You manage to sneak past the MMs bombarding your dorm to go see Jamil at the student store.
You drag him away to check up and fill him in on your situation.
He apologizes for not returning your calls but after he points out all the bugs in the garbage cans, you give him a free pass.
Both of you really need a break.
He already deals with Kalim and you already deal with Grim so the MMs are just panic icing on the stress cake.
You pinky-promise him that once Halloween week is over and all the tourists have left, the two of you are going to have some serious RNR.
Maybe get someone else to babysit your kids and then you can just chill out for at least a week.
He feels really bad that you have to deal with the MMs trying to take pictures of you and the ghosts.
"If you put up one of those electric fences, they wouldn't bother you anymore."
You definitely consider it but Crowley would never give you the funds.
...
🎮 Idia Shroud 🎮
Tumblr media
With his projections, he can just make a hologram of himself so he doesn't have to be there.
As proud as he is of his Creepy Hollow projection, he's been getting urgent texts from you for the past hour and he really needs to check on you.
He sneaks away to the Ramshackle dorm, grateful that he's still hiding behind his pumpkin mask when he see the MMs bombarding your dorm.
You manage to kick them all out without his help and retreat into your house again before you notice the knight creeping around the front door.
You are startled for a moment before remembering Idia's costume.
You laugh and pull off the mask, his hair tinged with pink when you kiss his cheek.
"If you aren't too busy after your stamp shift, would you want to watch Creepy Hollow and cuddle with me? I need a break."
He doesn't even have to say anything for you to knew it's a yes.
The puppy dog sparkle in his eyes give him away.
Rest assured, he's going to infodump random trivia about the movie while your watching it.

Had an idea for writing about Miles and Gwen’s eventual wedding.
Crime wouldn’t stop long enough for them to actually have the ceremony and cut the cake and have a honeymoon, so Peter, Miles, and some other Spiders set up something with the villains of New York: they stop street-level crimes so Miles and Gwen can get married and be normal for just a bit, have a bit of a honeymoon. In return, they have to share pictures and stories from the time away.
“One time only, Spider-Man. We’re not doing this for any other reason than we want to see you both tie the knot. After the honeymoon, it’s business as usual. Got it?”
“Yeah, man. Thanks 🙏 This has been a long time coming.”
Otto and Movie-Venom hold them to the line. “A gentlemen’s agreement, then. Anyone who breaks it will be persona non grata in the community, and you’ll have to deal with a very upset Mrs. Morales. Personally, I’d rather deal with her soon-to-be husband.”

It’s been a while. Have a little not-proofread story
Little short of Jay and Ava hiding after they preformed a successful prank during a family gathering
———
“Shhhh, Pipsqueak! They’re gonna hear you!”
Jay pressed her hands over her mouth to suppress her giggles and pushed closer to her sister, her uncomfortable dress rustling at every motion. Ava winced and gave Jay a glare when Jay’s dress shoe stepped on her foot. Ava pressed her eye back against the thin crack of light that illuminated their cramped hiding place.
“He was so surprised!” Jay whispered loudly, “I’ve never seen Uncle Bay get that surprised- and when the pie hit his head- he was just!”
She quickly dissolved into another fit of giggles, covering her mouth again to stifle the laughter.
“Shh!”
Ava glared back to watch Jay stick her tongue out at her.
“Bossy!” Jay whispered.
Ava shook her head, looking back through the small crack to confirm no one was nearby.
Ava had actually been trying to prank her Aunt Melly. Melly had scolded the pair a while ago about getting dirt in the house and how if they acted like vermin, it would lead more vermin. Jay had acted stoic but Ava caught a glimpse of a tear in her sisters eye.
So Ava figured what a better way to get revenge then letting a mouse loose in Melly’s house in front of the entire family.
Neither one of them had expected they would find out Uncle Bay greatest fear was mice.
“Is Mr. Squeak ok?” Jay asked
Ava caught the mouse, but Jay had tended to it and kept it alive, not a small feat for a house overrun with birds.
“That’s still a dumb name.”
“Sure A-Va, that’s a dumb name too.”
Content no one was in the outside, Ava turned to focus on more important things, such as arguing and messing with her sister.
“No, it’s not, and you’re named after dad, that’s dumb too”
“No it’s not!”
Ava smiled, finally undoing the stupid bow in her hair and unlatching the dumb shoes. She could already tell they had given her blisters.
“Yeah, the stupid mouse is safe, no one got it, and I hid him someplace good.”
Jay nodded, “He deserves extra treats after this.”
Ava smirked, finally relaxing into a not ‘ladylike’ rest and deciding to have some more fun.
“Or maybe I’ll let a hawk get him!”
“No!”
“It’ll be like this! RAARRR!” Ava descended upon Jay, pinning her before unleashing a barrage of tickles. The pair laughed.
The sound of approaching footsteps caused Ava to freeze in place. She jolted up and pressed her eye to the crack before darting back down to make eye contact with Jay who was still recovering from the tickle fight. Ava pressed a finger to her lips, gesturing for Jay to be quiet.
It was two voices, deep in discussion, and loud enough for Ava and Jay both to hear the conversation.
“And you’re sure no one has seen them yet?”
“I’m sure we’ll find them soon, certainly Jayson will. He is in a state, he’s practically smoking.”
“Well no wonder!
“I didn’t see all of it, was it really that bad?”
“Well, Bay says says the pie won’t come out of his suit, but that man has never washed a shirt in his life, so I don’t put much stock into that.”
“But what happened to Melly?”
“Oh! Well, she took a bit of a tumble, she’s fine of course, but she ended up landing straight on the cake!”
Ava’s eyes widened and she covered her mouth, her laughter threatening to spill over. Jay was a mirror to her own face. Ava shook her head, trying to tell her sister to remain serious.
“Oh no!”
“Yep! Right on it. What’s worse is that she landed butt first, you know, which is usually a good thing, but she was wearing pants, and now there’s just a butt print in the cake!”
Jays eyes were as wide as saucers as she mentally pictured the flailing Aunt Melly landing on the cake.
“Oh that’s a shame! It’s good she’s alright though.”
“Melly’s pride might be damaged beyond all repair, but I’m sure she’s going to have a firm conversation with those two once we find them.”
“Perhaps they hid upstairs.”
Ava and Jay heard the footsteps grow fainter as they walked away.
Jay broke first, letting out a bolt of laughter. She was barely able to get out the words through the laughter.
“She landed on her butt!”
Ava collapsed in giggles, nearly rolling on the floor with laughter. The pair of troublemakers reveling in celebration at the successful prank.
They were going to be in so much trouble for this.

Connection: Kris x Reader (P2)
CW: Y/N insert, Gender Neutral reader, Slow Burn (?)
Part One
Please Note: This will end up being a Kris x Reader! However, this IS a slow burn, so romantic elements may not show up until later. Thank you!
Tumblr media
"So, if you've been watching us for a while, you gotta know the future." Susie nudges me for an answer.
"Not really. This is all new to me." Keeping up a conversation is one thing, but doing that while traversing an unfamiliar dark world? Yeah, not really an easy feat. First, we wandered through an oddly alluring wooden door painted green. Now that we're in, all I can really make out is a long yet familiar feeling hallway. The kind you'd find in a distant childhood home. Pictures of family hung from the soft maple walls, the floors creaked every few steps, and the scent of vanilla wafted through.
"Smells like..." Ralsei tries to pick up on the scent, but Susie is quick to bolt down the hallway, "CAKE!!"
"WAIT! Susie!" Ralsei is quick to give chase, both of them leaving me to wander the hall. Running felt like the right thing to do- I badly want to bolt after them! But the sense of home slows me down to a sensible walk. There isn't really any rush, is there? A soft melody plays through the corridor of someone else's hall of memory.
It... Even reminds me of a familiar home. A stable one.
It took but a few minutes to arrive at a three way split. "Are we really doing split off stories again?" I shake my head. As if the last chapter didn't spend enough time away from the main cast... All three have different footprints down their halls. The left has tiny hoofprints decorating the floor, the middle has frantic boot marks, while the right looks smeared. As if someone had struggled through.
I try the left path first. That's probably where Ralsei went, right?
"Ralsei? Bud, where are-"
"Chu!"
!!!
Battle music began- but no battle screen shows up?! All I see is a pair of eyes on a vaguely bunny shaped dust cloud. Despite what size dust should realistically be, it's just about as tall as me! How am I supposed to fight this thing?
"I-I'll... Defend?"
I try my best to say my action and cover my face with my arms. And yet, nothing truly shows up to indicate I've taken action. Rather, the grey cloud of rabbit makes its move. Removing a carrot shaped duster, it reaches right over my head and-
THUNK!

Connection [FOUND]
...
The feeling of space isn't nearly as cold as I thought it would be. It's like being inside a big warm tub of water without drowning. I can't see much around me, mostly blues and dark purples swarming around and a distant blackened figure.
"Are you... There?"
My voice isn't my own. No words even leave my mouth. And yet, as if they were a psychic, two hesitant ruby red eyes look up on the other side.
"What are you doing here?" A raspy, masculine voice answers with their own question.
"What do you mean? I thought this was my dream!"
"You aren't dreaming. You died."
A cold fear runs through my body. Died? But- I just barely got to live! I haven't even started my real life outside of this game! I want to scream, cry, and plead with any God out there to hear me... But nothing musters up my body to act. And so, the figure continues.
"This is where I first met you... When you took over my life. If you had ANY sense, you would have never taken interest in me!" The figure stands from their spot, peering down towards me from their distance. Now it's crystal clear- That yellow and green striped shirt, that brown hair...
"And now you're dead. But, not really, are you? You actually get chances to come back. Again and again. So when you come back..." They take a few steps closer just to look over me.
"D o n ' t f i n d m e."
Connection [TERMINATED]
"(Y/N)...!" I can barely hear the soothing voice calling to me. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?" I'm almost there. Almost able to answer...
"(Y/N)!"
"I'm here-! I'm-" I sit right up, feeling my body all over. That's... Right. I AM here. Alive again. But, I don't remember pressing on...?
"Thank goodness you're okay! I found you being eaten by a dust bunny, but... They don't exactly HAVE stomachs... Somehow, it did leave a nasty mark on your head. When I used a healing prayer, it left... A scar. I apologize for that-"
Before he can even finish, I pull him in for a tight and shaky hug. Whether it was my own choice or Ralsei's quick thinking, I can actually get another chance. Find out just where Kris is and find my way out of here. If a dust bunny can kill me in one blow, I hate to think about what could happen later...

Now You’re In The World
Geralt/Jaskier / rated teen / 1,849 words / ao3.
inspired by this tweet, which grabbed ahold of me right after christmas and wouldn’t let go until i wrote some new years fluff. i’m super proud of this one, i’m not gonna lie.
“Merry Christmas from the Pankratz family! Julian couldn’t join us this year so it’s just the two of us again, and the dog, of course. May your holiday be filled with the warmth of your loved ones by your side! — Alf and Jules xx”
The picture on Jaskier’s Facebook feed had caught his attention first; his mum and dad sat by the fireplace back at Lettenhove Hall, logs burning in the hearth. The family dog was at their feet, and hanging from the festively trimmed mantelpiece were three red stockings, each with a name embroidered in white thread below the fluffy white trim.
 Julia, Alfred, and Jasper.
They could’ve at least pretended there was a place for their son in the family home by hanging a stocking for him.
Geralt lifted his head when he heard a weary sigh from the other side of the room, looking away from the lunch he’d been preparing to where his boyfriend sat at the kitchen counter, phone in hand as his coffee sat neglected.
“What is it now?” he asked, wiping his hands on a tea towel as he padded across the kitchen, leaning against the counter across from the musician.
Jaskier let out another sigh, putting down his phone to slide it across the surface to Geralt, showing him his mother’s oh so perfect Christmas morning without her failure of a son present to ruin things.
“Ah,” Geralt responded, swiping up on the screen to close the cursed app for Jaskier, saving him from looking at the offending picture and caption much longer.
“It’s fine,” Jaskier said, aiming for noncommittal but knowing he’d missed the mark by miles. Geralt sighed quietly, moving around the counter to wrap an arm around his boyfriend, holding him close and kissing the warm spot behind his ear that always made the brunet shudder.
“It is fine, because we’re gonna have a great holiday,” Geralt told him firmly, his large palm resting against Jaskier’s chest pressing against him, right over his steadily beating heart. Jaskier grinned to himself then, turning slightly on the stool to look up at the love of his life fondly.
“We are, aren’t we?” He leaned up for a kiss then, capturing warm, plush lips with his own and shuddering as strong arms enveloped him, Geralt stepping closer into the gap between his thighs and crowding him against the counter as his tongue slipped past Jaskier’s lips.
Yeah, they’d have a fine holiday without the judgement of the Pankratzes, thank you.
 ——————————
A week feels like no time at all when you’re having the time of your life.
Geralt and Jaskier were at Geralt’s family home just like every year, in the company of his two dads and his three brothers, ex wife and her new wife and their adopted daughter. Lambert had brought a guest this time, a “friend from work” called Aiden. Jaskier immediately bonded with the other outsider, welcoming him into the fold alongside himself and Triss.
Geralt, as the eldest of the brood, would pretend like he was somehow above his two younger brothers and their shenanigans. Jaskier knew better, having seen -year after year- endless drinking games, dick punches, unplanned wrestling matches, and various other stupid feats of physical endurance that usually ended with Jaskier kissing Geralt’s bruises and rubbing his aching joints on an evening. He’d had no doubts that this year would be much of the same.
The week between the two holidays was spent eating too much good food, like always. Eskel and Ciri had spent hours in the kitchen, and having roped in Aiden this year, there were cakes, fresh bread, and elaborate meals aplenty. There’d been too many drinks, too, with Jaskier curled up in Geralt’s lap, drinking a glass of wine which kept mysteriously being topped up while Geralt sipped at a glass of scotch.
When New Year’s Eve did roll around, Jaskier couldn’t help but feel a little miserable. Another year unwanted, he found himself thinking as he scrolled Facebook again, speeding past bullshit updates from his family, not caring to see their annual ball, the pretentious bullshit, and some horribly passive comments about Julian not being present.
He was torn out of his thoughts by Ciri, the preteen throwing spindly arms around his waist and beaming up at him with the full power of the sun. God, he loved this family. He ruffled his as-good-as stepdaughter’s hair before he wrapped his arms around her, hoisting her up the couple of inches he could manage and making her shriek with laughter.
He would not let his parents ruin his time, he wouldn’t.
Later, with the party in full swing and a few too many glasses of what Vesemir had dubbed White Gull, a horrifyingly strong mix of just about every bottle in his liquor cabinet that the Rivias all swore blindly was a punch, Jaskier was content. Content, but… Well. He couldn’t help but feel a tinge of regret, like he was missing something by not being at that stupid snooty fucking ball.
“What’s up?” A voice pulled him out of his thoughts as Lambert flopped down next to him, his red curls bouncing. Jaskier sighed, looking down at the empty glass in his hands before glancing up at his friend, a surprising amount of sincerity in the man’s eyes.
“‘S just this time of year,” he answered with a tiny shrug, biting his lip nervously. Lambert nodded at his side, and Jaskier almost jumped when a large hand landed on his knee, patting him gently, comfortingly.
“Family can fucking suck, mate. Especially the Pankratzes.” Lambert’s voice had a definite teasing lilt to it, and a quick glance at the redhead’s face revealed a playful smirk. Jaskier huffed a laugh in response, aiming his elbow for Lambert’s ribs and laughing harder when he made contact, knocking a winded sound from him.
“I’m a Pankratz, numb nuts!” But Jaskier was still laughing, a warm feeling bubbling through him. He hadn’t ever really felt a sense of family, not since he was a kid, but here with Geralt and his ridiculous family, he felt like he had somewhere he could belong.
“Whatever you say…” Lambert responded, bumping his shoulder into Jaskier’s with a little smirk before he got to his feet again. He reached a hand out and ruffled the brunet’s hair, cackling and walking away as his hand was slapped, Jaskier smiling to himself as he tried to straighten it back out.
The night went on as expected, with Ciri on a sugar high charging round the house and Eskel holding an ice pack to a bruise blooming on his jawbone after a stray hit from one of his brothers. Jaskier had lost track of Geralt at some point, but he’d popped back up at around eleven thirty, an arm wrapped around his boyfriend’s narrow waist and chin resting on his shoulder.
“Come here often, handsome?” Geralt joked, the smile on his face audible. Jaskier laughed brightly, patting Geralt’s hand with his own and turning his head to kiss him sweetly, lips lingering for a moment. The two men stayed like that for a long moment, swaying slightly to music.
“Hey,” Geralt’s voice was soft, close enough to Jaskier’s ears to make him shiver, and his arm tightened around the brunet’s narrow waist briefly. Jaskier hummed in response, inhaling his boyfriend’s warm scent before blinking blue eyes open slowly. He hummed in response, frowning softly when Geralt’s arm dropped away only to snatch up his hand, tugging to pull Jaskier around to face him.
“What is it, love?” Jaskier asked, a slight uneasy feeling bubbling up in his stomach. He watched as Geralt swallowed and licked his lips, honey warm eyes flickering from Jaskier’s eyes to his lips, down to their joined hands and back up again. He let out a huffed breath before chuckling to himself, a sure sign to Jaskier that he was nervous.
“I uh. I’ve been doing some thinking…” the silver-haired man started, giving Jaskier’s hands a soft squeeze as he bit down on his lower lip, tongue flicking out to wet plush pink lips before he continued. “About family, and what it means. Who family are.”
Jaskier nodded, confusion no doubt writ across his face, but he smiled all the same, encouraging Geralt to continue. He wasn’t always the best with his words, so he’d tread as carefully as he could.
“You’re family, Jaskier. My family.” Oh. Jaskier nodded softly, his eyes prickling with tears he would not shed. He watched Geralt inhale deeply before he spoke again, the bigger man’s eyes uncharacteristically wet.
“Julian Rivia has a nice ring to it, right?” Geralt was clearly aiming for casual, but the slight waver in his voice gave away his nerves.
Jaskier was stunned. Was Geralt saying what he thought he was?
 “Marry me, Jask.”
Jaskier couldn’t speak. The world seemed to narrow down to just the two of them, the feeling of Geralt’s large hands holding his, the warmth of his breath on Jaskier’s skin as he waited for a response, bottom lip pulled between his teeth to worry at the thin skin.
He nodded first, his mouth hanging open slightly. As Jaskier squeezed Geralt’s hands back, though, he found his voice.
“Yes! Yes, of course!” Jaskier could feel his eyes prickling with tears as he let go of his boyfriend’s— no, his fiancé’s hands so he could throw his arms around his neck, clinging onto the other man like his life depended on it. Face buried in Geralt’s neck, Jaskier didn’t notice when the whole of his— their family turned their eyes on them, but the loud cheer from Coen was impossible to ignore.
Lifting his head with a wet laugh, Jaskier wiped the tears from his eyes before leaning up to capture Geralt’s lips with his own for a deep kiss, tongue teasing at the spot Geralt had kept biting down on before sweeping into his fiancé’s mouth. A wolf whistle had them both laughing, Geralt resting his forehead against his as he smiled.
“He said yes!” Geralt called over his shoulder to another round of cheers. The wind was suddenly knocked out of Geralt from behind as Ciri barrelled into her dad, clinging to him excitedly. She was followed by Vesemir and Filavandrel , the two men smiling proudly.
“Welcome to the family, son.” Vesemir’s voice was a warm, rumbling thing, his eyes and his smile kind and inviting. A large hand clapped Jaskier’s shoulder before he was wrapped up in the old man’s arms, and truly, Jaskier had never felt more like he belonged.
The sound of fireworks outside interrupted them, Vesemir letting go of Jaskier with a fond smile and stepping away, taking his own husband’s hand and leading their family to the open patio doors.
“Happy New Year, Geralt,” Jaskier’s voice was slightly shaky still, too many emotions running through him. Geralt didn’t seem to mind, though, instead giving the brunet another soft kiss, large hands stroking down his back to his waist, holding him close as fireworks lit up the sky.

Part 2 of these PKNA fanfiction (feat mostly Lyla and Camera 9) that apparently I can't stop writing
Here is part 1, if you are interested.
And here is the one that started this, and that goes chronologically after this one.
I am writing this because I love the potential friendship between Camera 9 and Lyla and wanted to explore that. This one got long, so I haven't written all the ideas I have... a part three may be posted one of these days
Hope you enjoy reading!
1.
Since she was already at Time 0 for a mission report and a check up, she might as well dwell on the archives.
Information about every single person, both android and biological, was registered there. If there was somewhere to look, it was definitely this place.
The question was no longer "what's his name?" but "who is he?"
Now, was it easier just to ask him? Yes...and no. Lyla liked her workmate, but the fact that he was able to follow her twice without her noticing made her proceed with caution.
She typed the name "Stefan Vladuck, 20th century. " ... oh... there it was... it only took a while.
Feeling a little nervous, she opened the file and read.
Name: Vladuck, Stefan
Type: Biological
Species: Duck
Place of birth: Bulgaria (officially)
Nationality: Not found
...what?
"What do you mean not found?" said Lyla softly with a hint of annoyance. She kept reading
Job: War/hotspot journalist. Vanished from the public eye for years. Television
Cause of death:
And Lyla closed the file abruptly. If she kept reading, she would learn more about ....her friend, but she wouldn't dare to keep going.
The bad side of Time 0 is that everyone you know is simultaneously dead and alive or might as well be.
With a heavy sigh, she left the archives and prepare to head back to Duckburg.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2.
Since she couldn't get the information she wanted back in Time 0, Lyla decided to consult more traditional sources
"Angus, does the name Stefan Vladuck ring a bell?"
The kiwi raised his eyes from his notes to see the young reporter looking at him with curious eyes
"What? Is the youth suddenly interested in the classics?
Lyla didn't respond. Angus stood, for he was leaving, and elaborate as he put on his coat
"If you are trying to contact him, stop losing your time. He was a great one but disappeared one day just like that. He's probably dead"
"So I guess asking him to work with us would be impossible, then?" Said Lyla as she smiled sweetly
"Why would someone like him work with us? Hey! You! Stop losing time and come! There is news to report!" And he dragged Camera 9 out of the office.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3.
It had been a while since she was on the last level of Ducklair Tower. She liked visiting PK even if it was for a "professional" reason. But going on missions with him was fun too, even if dangerous.
"PK will be here soon," ONE said, interrupting the peaceful silence that had been taking over of the area before. "Would you care of tea? A magazine? A piece of cake?"
"That's ok, ONE" she said with a smile " I enjoy just walking around."
And as soon as she had said this, she stopped. Something had caught her eye: a picture of her hero friend pinned on a board. His pose was heroic, his cape fell graciousy, and his expression was determined and strong. She couldn't recognize the background, but that was of minor importance. The lighting was weirdly warm.
"All right!" Said Donald as he entered the room "it was hard, but Uncle Scrooge won't force me to go to the dying lakes of whatever-they-might-be to help him with yet another one of his adventures, so we are free to go, Lyla... Lyla?"
"Ah? ....oh, sorry. I was looking at this picture of yours"
And Donald came closer to see which one she was talking about
"Ah, yeah" he said with a big, bright smile "that one is my favorite! I look so cool and handsome!"
"Not an easy feat, but it was posible!" Commented ONE, another playful teasing among friends that Donald didn't appreciate that much
"It's a great photo" said Lyla as she looked for details more closely
"Well" answer Donald and he almost sounded proud "he is a great photographer"
"Who?"
"Stefan" he replied casually.
Silence, not awkward or cold, but the kind that comes when your brain refuses to accept what it just heard
"Who did you say?"
Donald glaced over her noticing something was ... odd...
"Stefan...Vladuck"
"You know him?"
"Well, you can say so, we meet once and he took those" he said pointing at all the photos in the board "he helped me trick Angus Fangus, and he really seem to enjo..."
"Tell me about him" interrupt her soflty, clearly she wasn't really listening
"Huh?"
"Eh?" Lyla suddenly realized the slightly concerned looks Donald was giving her.
"I...I mean, this picture is so good it just made me wonder about the person who took it"
ONE came to break the awkwardness
"As far as we know," he said, "Vladuck used to be a photojournalist who specialized in potentially dangerous jobs"
"You mean...?"
"War." Said Donald "Though sometimes he was sent to guerrillas or natural disaster sites... of course, he did other types of photojournalism..."
Lyla took another photo in her hands. The whole situation felt surreal. Every piece of new information she collected on him made things simultaneously clearer and more confusing
"Is he well known?"
"Yeah!" answer Donald way to quickly "if you are familiar with the field, I guess"
Lyla looked even more into the pictures, without realizing a soft smile appeared on her face
"He is talented" she said almost in a whisper. "Why did he stop?"
"I don't know. You can just go an ask him"
She turned confused at the heroe
"Huh?"
"If you are suddenly so curious about him, it's because you know" he said, shrugging
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4.
"Lyla? What are you doing here? I thought I asked you to cover the accident on 4th street"
Her slightly annoyed boss was infront of her, waiting for an answer
"Sorry, Dan. I'll be on my way," she replied with a sweet voice."I am just waiting for Camera 9"
"Oh, Angus took him earlier for his own scoop," interrupted Mike on the other side of the room. "He said that, since he is smaller, he can fit anywhere easily"
A weird silence fell. How do you even respond to that?
Dan sighed
"Just take any other camera man"
"Yes, Dan"
And so she left. It has been three days since she had talked to him
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5.
Two more days passed until she was able to work with him.
As she waited for him on the car, she wondered how to start the conversation. There were still so many unanswered questions, but she didn't want to make things weird. He was a workmate she actually liked spending time with. She did want him to cut her off in anyway.
Soon, he got in the car. She thought some more of the best way to start: Should she use his name? Should she call him Nine still? Does she even want to explain what happened? Does he...?
"What's the organization?"
Oh well, she didn't thought of starting there
"Come again?"
"You asked me if I was with the organization. Back at the warehouse..."
Lyla considered her answer. Whatever happened to whatever you are doing, it's not my business, Miss Lay?
"Let's just say I don't like them very much" she decided ambiguity was her best card right now
"Are you in trouble?"
His voice was serious and a little concerned. She needed him not to worry
"Ah? No, it's all right, ...Stefan..."
He huffed, amused, and shook his head
"It's a nice name," she added
"Thank you"
He fastened his seat belt and laid back on his seat
"Ok, let's go!" he said happily, and Lyla just drove off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6.
"Should I keep calling you Nine, or...?"
The atmosphere in the room was peaceful and even relaxing, if you ignored the multiple papers scattered around and the whiteboard with a huge question mark
"I guess you can use either." he answered "As long as you don't use my real name around others... now, where would the owner of a fraudulent beauty clinic go"
Researching for a scoop could get as intense and draining as any police investigation. But Lyla discovered he was a fun fellow journalist to be around
"Mouseton," she pointed out. "According to this, she recently brought property there... Why not around others? Are you hiding or something?
"I'm just extremely introverted... If she wanted to hide, why Mouseton? Why go to a place where people may look first, based on her purchase record. Maybe she is still in Duckburg"
"You're probably right. The police would looked on her newly brought properties first and by the time they get the authorization to enter the city, she would be long gone" she said taking notes on the board "is it ok if I call you Nine most of the time?"
She didn't say it, but his real name felt a little too intimate at the moment
"Yeah, you can call me Nine, or Stefan, or whatever you feel comfortable with. You're the only one who calls me just "nine" and to be honest, I like the nickname...Lyla, look at this..." and he showed her a picture. At the back, they could barely make the form of a tall, purplish figure
"That looks Evronian" said Lyla in a surprised, breathy voice. "Was the clinic just an Alien hideout?"
"Someone better call PK"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lyla had been looking through boxes and boxes of past newspapers. She was assigned to write a column on the story of Cornelius Coot for the city's anniversary, and she had a lot of reading to do
"You do it! Since you were born in Duckburg! it would be easy!" Had said Angus, who had rejected the project since he arrived in Duckburg relatively not long ago. So there was Lyla, looking for information. She did really mind it. She actually liked when things got more mundane and peaceful
"I found another newspaper from the 50s that might help you," said Camera 9, who had been helping her on the project. "I'll leave it on your desk along with the others"
"Thanks for your help," she said without taking the eyes off the box she was looking on. " You're a life saver, Stefan"
And she turned around only to be face to face with someone unexpected. She almost dropped the recently found newspaper on the ground
"Wrong name, actually, but I take the compliment, I guess"
"Ziggy!" Exclaimed Lyla "I wasn't expecting you here"
"Just came to drop a box of old tapes. Sorry if I scared you"
"No, no, it's all fine, I..." She looked around and noticed her quiet friend wasn't in the room anymore. "...I thought I was alone"
Ziggy gave her a strange look, as if he was trying to decipher a puzzle or something
"Ok, Miss Lay, I will leave you to work in peace" he said brightly after a brief moment, and he intended to leave the room. "Just out of curiosity, who is Stefan?"
"Huh? No one... I mean...that's how I call the potted cactus over there" and she pointed at a small plant that was quielty resting on a shelf. Ziggy looked at it as if he was studying it
"Seems like a nice little fella" he said. Camera 9 was coming in just then. "I'll leave you alone, Miss Lay. Good luck with the column....Hey, Camera 9! See you around, man"
And so he was gone to do this own job.
Camera 9 saw him go in silence before speaking
"Lyla, Dan sent me to work with Mike. Would you mind if I...?"
"No at all, Nine! I'll manage here. Don't worry. " it wasn't like she strictly needed him to help her anyway, but she did like the company.
"All right then, see you around Lyla" he said. Then he turned to the cactus "bye, Stefan"
And so he left.
End of part 2
I am slightly sorry these bits got long... :D.
I plan keep them coming
