Thanks so much for the ask! I also can’t get enough of the casefic/mystery genre.
Usually I throw together a mix of both WIPs (why WIPs?) and complete fics, but for this set of 15 recs, I selected for fics which are either complete or still actively updating, so as not to leave you on a cliffhanger on a mystery fic! I run Dungeons & Dragons and occasionally some other tabletop rpgs at my library, and like many DMs, one of my favorite things to do is slip little references to media I enjoy into my games. My audience is mostly in the 12-15 range, so oftentimes the references are to media that they don't know about and I could possibly get in trouble for telling them about, but it still makes me happy.
So when I ran a session of the Grant Howitt one-page RPG Crash Pandas (where you play as street-racing raccoons), I decided to have a knockoff of the Mechanisms as one of the other racers. They were in a bus that was also named Aurora, one of them had killed a party member's family, and in the end the bus got blown up by a pyromaniac raccoon (which is, admittedly, a pretty Mechs thing to happen). A very fun time was had by all.
My players absolutely loved Crash Pandas, so this October, I chose to forgo my usual oneshot of a specifically horror-based or spooky ttrpg to instead run a Halloween-themed Crash Pandas oneshot. And, while the group's destructive tendencies last time meant that I had to pick a new lineup of rival racers, I brought the Mechanisms back, because why the hell not?
And let me tell you, when one of the players that had been at the previous one walked in and almost immediately pointed to the bus and shouted "It's Jonny!" my soul left my body.

Name a guest Adam Levesque and unlock all Animal Care research programs (Adam Levesque is the CEO of Blue Fang and Creative Director for Zoo Tycoon.)
Name a guest Lou Catanzaro and unlock all Animal Enrichment research programs.
Name a guest Charlie Peterson and unlock all exhibit foliage.(Charlie Peterson is one of the Program Managers on Zoo Tycoon.)

Easter Eggs
On September 15 on the in-game calendar (the date of the signing of the contract between Microsoft and Blue Fang for Zoo Tycoon), a biplane with the Microsoft logo flies across the map pulling a banner with the Blue Fang Logo.
On their own turf, penguins are capable of killing pretty much any animal in the game
Guests entering the zoo on January 1 (New Year's Day) on the in-game calendar will be sick.
October is Dinosaur Month! Purchase all dinosaurs at half price during the in-game month of October.
On October 31 on the real world calendar, all guests and buildings wear orange and black in honor of Halloween, a jack-o-lantern is available from the buildings and items menu, and a wicked witch flies over the zoo on a broomstick.

On Christmas (December 25) on the in-game calendar, Santa Clause flies over the zoo on his sleigh.
Secrets
Name a male maintenance worker George W and all the foliage in your zoo will vanish, but you'll receive $300 tax rebate.
Name a guest Mr.Brown, Mr.Pink, Mr.White, Mr.Blond, or Mr.Orange and all guests and buildings currently in the zoo change to the associated color.
Name a male maintenance worker The Rock, all buildings are turned to rubble.
Name a bear Deer and the bear will immediately break out of its exhibit unless the fence is electrified)
Place a Mermaid Statue in an exhibit or show tank and it changes into a real mermaid. The Mermaid will not appear in the adopt an animal menu; however,you can continue dropping Mermaid Statues into water tanks to "adopt" more.

hi! first off, wanted to say thank you for all the fun facts - truly makes my day whenever there’s a new post from this blog :D
secondly, not sure if anyone else has asked this, but i was wondering what your thoughts are on whether a cohesive in-universe timeline of events could actually be constructed? (someday, from the depths of despair happening before n25 main story, l/n main story happening in the beginning of the school year, etc.) i’d imagine you’d have to ignore or somehow squish together all the holiday/seasonal events, or is it simply impossible to squeeze about three years of events into one cohesive ‘canon’ year?

Never underestimate my probable neurodivergence. It's a work in progress and I want to try and get it done by September but the horrible amount of anachronisms in the main story is killing me. Like WxS simultaneously has to be the first and last main story because it needs to happen before the MMJ and VBS stories but also after Leo/need but that takes place at the same time as MMJ but also before it and WxS also has to be after VBS because WxS isn't a thing when akitoya divorce but then Leo/need doesn't exist when akitoya divorce either Saki isn't even at school yet which means there's no MMJ either but WxS exists before Kohane cuts her hair and MMJ story is in progress when that happens like what. I'm calling this confirmation that the main stories were written by 5 different teams. That or no one proofread anything. Oh there's also a massive error with Haruka's age where they say she's 16 but based on when the story is set she should be 15 and the game insists she was never pushed back a year. Thanks colopale.
Anyway since only one main story mentions a date as far as I remember (WxS) I've been trying to build it off of that. There are still errors because the date mentioned is "first day of school break", you can work out that they're talking about summer break by process of elimination but then none of the other units go on summer vacation. But like we'll just ignore that because I'm too tired to deal with colopale's bad continuity writing. Also the game takes place in the 2021-2022 school year because the only date ever shown in game was 2021 and it was in an event set in September/October. The Leo/need socmed posts have mentioned other dates but we'll ignore that also.
And because I misread your question yes you can squeeze everything into a canon year...kinda. You have to timeloop it because they straight up mention in secret distance that they're going on spring break (end of school year break) and literally don't even bring up the fact that it's the end of the school year.
So I think based on what I've got right now:
WxS main story is during summer break and a week or so prior.
Which means Saki and Haruka return to school in June or July probably (they start at around the same time and it's not mentioned that Haruka starts at the beginning of the school year)
and then VBS happens once the WxS story is done (we'll call that after summer break. so september)
Miyajou doesn't get a summer break that year to fix anachronisms rip
Then we skip september for every unit except VBS and pretty much follow the events in order until we get to Secret Distance (March 2022) and loop back to April 2021 and keep doing that at every half anniversary event.
I'm assuming when we reach 3rd we'll skip all the way from September 2021 to April 2022, not timeloop and then pretend that May->September 2022 isn't real and do a Halloween event.
All the flashback events fit onto the timeline without me having to change anything somehow so at least I can respect colopale for that

[221105] Naver Article Exclusive [ATEEZ, a leading idol, donated 100 million won to support the Itaewon disaster...Conceptual walking]
According to multiple officials, ATEEZ donated 100 million won (~$72,000 USD) from their Seoul concerts’ proceeds to the National Disaster Relief Association in support of the Itaewon accident.
On the 29th of last month, a large-scale crowd gathered around Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for Halloween Day, causing a crush. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 4th, 156 people were killed and 191 people were injured. ATEEZ donated some of the proceeds from their concert to express their condolences to the victims of the disaster.
In fact, ATEEZ is a 'good boy' hidden in the entertainment industry. They have secretly donated to various relief organizations such as Good Neighbors, Children's Foundation, and UNICEF. Members Mingi and Yeosang also participated in donating voice talent to read fairy tales for the vulnerable, and Hongjoong said he will hold a free photo exhibition ahead of his birthday on November 7 to donate support for children dreaming of music under the name of his fans.
ATEEZ is currently showing off their global upward trend. They successfully completed their world tour in North America and Europe within four months of their debut and gained extraordinary popularity overseas, ranking fifth on the Billboard World Chart and first on the iTunes album chart even before their first anniversary. In addition, the 2020 world tour "ATEEZ World Tour The Fellowship: Map the Treasure" attracted 100,000 viewers, setting the record for the largest number of tour attractions in the shortest period since its debut in K-pop history. The Murder of Martha Moxley
October 01, 2023
On October 30, 1975, 15 year old Martha Moxley went out with her friends to "mischief night" which was a night where all the neighbourhood kids would pull pranks on the neighbours, such as ding dong ditch and TP'ing houses.
According to the other kids there that night, Martha had been flirting with a boy named Thomas Skakel and even kissed him. Thomas had an older brother named Michael. Their mother had died in 1973 from brain cancer and that was when Michael turned to drinking. It was said that the Skakel's would be given large sums of money and would be left unsupervised a lot.
The last time anyone saw Martha she was apparently with Thomas behind a fence, near the boy's pool in his backyard. This was at 9:30pm.
The following day, October 31, 1975, Halloween, Martha's body was found underneath a tree in her own backyard. Her pants and underwear were pulled down, though it was later determined she had not been sexually assaulted.
Pieces of a broken six-iron golf club were found near her. The autopsy indicated that she had been bludgeoned and stabbed with the club. The club was owned by the Skakel's.
Since Thomas Skakel was the last person to have been with Martha the night before he became the prime suspect. His father however, denied authorities to get any access to Thomas' school and mental health records.
Thomas' live in tutor, Kenneth Littleton also became a prime suspect. He had only started working a few hours before the murder. Neither Thomas or Kenneth were charged and the case was cold for decades.
Over the years both Thomas and his brother Michael changed their alibi's for the night Martha was murdered. Michael claimed he was window-peeping and masturbating in a tree beside Martha's home from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am.
Two former students who had gone to a centre for troubled youths reported they had heard Michael confess to killing Martha with a golf club. One of these students quoted Michael as having said, "I'm gong to get away with murder. I'm a Kennedy." Michael's aunt was the widow of US Senator, Robert F. Kennedy. Michael supposedly had gotten special treatment at this centre.
A man named William Kennedy Smith was tried and acquitted for rape in 1991, and a rumour had begun that he had been at the Skakel house on the night Martha was killed. Though it was never confirmed if he had involvement, the case had a new investigation to go off of.
In June 1998, a one-man grand jury was set to review the evidence of the case. After 18 months, it was determined there was enough evidence to charge Michael Skakel with murder.
On January 9, 2000, Michael surrendered to authorities. He was released shortly after on a $500,000 bail. On March 14, 2000, Michael was arraigned for murder n juvenile court, because he was only 15 years old at the time of Martha's murder.
On January 31, 2001, a judged ruled he would be tried as an adult.
The trial began on May 7, 2002, in Connecticut. Michael's alibi at the time of the murder was that he was at his cousin's house. On June 7, 2002, Michael was found guilty of the murder of Martha Moxley. He was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.
Skakel and his team fought for a new trial many times, often being denied. However, on October 23, 2013, Skakel was granted a new trial by Judge Thomas A. Bishop who ruled his attorney had failed to adequately represent Michael when he was convicted in 2002.
On November 21, 2013, Skakel was released on a $1.2 million bond and conditions. He had to be monitored with a GPS device and have no contact with the Moxley family. He would not be allowed to leave the state of Connecticut and would be periodically checked in on over the phone.
In December 2016, the Connecticut Supreme Court reinstated Skakel's murder conviction with a 4-3 majority decision. In 2018, they wanted the court to revoke Skakel's bail, and make him continue to serve his sentence in jail. Also in 2018 it was announced there would be a new trial ordered, but by October 2020, it was informed that Skakel would not be retried, with the state's chief saying the state would not be able to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt.
Michael Skakel remains released.

Modern Warfare 2: Complete Timeline
Hey gang, I spent a lot of time compiling this particular set of notes for personal fanfic reasons, but I figured other people might benefit from having it all in one place like this rather than having to scrub through the entire game movie on YouTube like I did this past week. Thus I present to you the order in which events actually happen in-game. Important to note, I placed Shepherd and Graves’ original war crime in its proper place rather than post Prison-Break, for chronology’s sake. Also important to note, the very first meeting we see between Laswell and Shepherd is neither dated nor timed, but via context clues it can at least be deduced that it was in October at the Pentagon.
To sum up the timeline, the prologue sets up the action three and a half months prior to kickoff, in Al-Mazrah on July 15th, 2022. Graves and Shepherd lose their missiles only one month after the strike on Ghorbrani. (Interesting little detail—the missiles they were trying to deliver were almost certainly the same make and model used in the strike. Narratively delicious.) It takes two and a half months for the missiles to pop back up again, with TF141 finding the first of them on October 28th, 2022. It takes 141 eight days to locate and neutralize the remaining missiles, and the operation occurs across six separate countries. (Ghost and Soap are in Mexico for Halloween and Día de los Muertos. Do with that what you will.) Everyone, and I do mean everyone, commits a varied pastiche of actual, prosecutable war crimes, but the most objectively egregious ones naturally belong to Shadow Company, Hassan, and Shepherd. The action comes to a conclusion in Chicago on November 4th, 2022.
On with the details!
15 July 2022 1600hrs, Al Mazrah — “STRIKE” Ghost confirms Ghorbrani arms deal in the desert. Shadow Company led by Professional Bastard Phillip Graves carries out a successful missile strike on the site. Ghost confirms the kill. Cool guys may not look at explosions, but even cooler guys don’t get out of the blast radius.
12 Aug 2022 0300, Al Mazrah — “HINDSIGHT” Shadow company attempts to illegally deliver 3 American missiles to allies fighting Russia at General Shepherd’s behest. They are ambushed by Russian PMCs on the road. The PMCs wipe them out and steal the missiles. The US Military at its finest.
“Several Months Later,” US Pentagon — Laswell brings Shepherd the reports on Hassan Zyani. They decide to send Task Force 141 after him.
28 Oct 2022 0130hrs, Al Mazrah — “KILL OR CAPTURE” Soap and Ghost lead a Marine Special Operations unit on a raid at an Al-Qatala compound to capture Hassan. They find the American missiles instead. Shepherd has a blackout meeting with Laswell to control the situation (and to keep her from finding out they’re his missiles).
28 Oct 2022 0600hrs, Amsterdam — “WETWORK” Price and Gaz discover a liaison between AQ and the Mexican Las Almas Cartel at the docks. Daddy Price gets his hat wet.
28 Oct 2022 0800hrs, Amsterdam — “TRADECRAFT” Price, Gaz, and Laswell abduct a Las Almas cartel sicario from a cafe meet with AQ. They discover Hassan is being moved that night from Mexico into the US. They don’t even get to try the coffee.
29 Oct 2022 2200hrs, US-Mexico Border — “BORDERLINE” Alejo and Rudy attempt to capture Hassan before he crosses into the US. They are unable to catch him, but Hassan flees back into Las Almas. They discover that “something” is bound for the US on a boat across the Atlantic.
30 Oct 2022 1000hrs, Las Almas — “CARTEL PROTECTION” Ghost and Soap arrive in Las Almas and meet with Alejandro and Rudy. 141 and Los Vaqueros storm the cartel hideout Hassan is holed up in, but find it absent of him. Soap, Ghost, and Alejo have to flee after engaging the Mexican Army (which has arrived to support the cartel).
30 Oct 2022 1300hrs, Las Almas — “CLOSE AIR”Soap, Ghost, and Alejandro corner Hassan in a cartel compound on (what I think is) an agave farm, where Shadow Company air support gives assistance (read: indiscriminate heavy artillery). Hassan is captured, and after a small town (Olmeda) is leveled in the crossfire, 141 et al take Hassan into the desert for interrogation. They get nothing and have to let him go. If you think the military is the pinnacle of efficiency, this mission should relieve you of that belief.
31 Oct 2022 1100hrs, Spain — “RECON BY FIRE” Price and Gaz infiltrate a hatchery front for the joint Cartel/AQ operation. They find out that Russia is involved. Laswell is kidnapped by AQ and taken hostage in Urzikstan.
01 Nov 2022 1600hrs, Urzikstan — “VIOLENCE AND TIMING” Price and Gaz with the help of Farah Karim (MY LOVE) and her Liberation Front assault the AQ convoy into Al Mazrah and reclaim Laswell. Laswell discovers that AQ received Russian guidance systems with which to arm the American missiles. Family reunion briefly ensues. There were no hugs and there absolutely should have been.
01 Nov 2022 2300hrs, Las Almas — “EL SIN NOMBRE” Soap and Alejo infiltrate Diego’s horribly decorated manor to locate and take ESN into custody. They discover ESN is Valeria, and that Alejo served with her. Valeria reveals where the next missile is headed: an oil rig 400 miles off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico.
02 Nov 2022 1700hrs, Gulf of Mexico — “DARK WATER” 141, LV, and Shadow Company assault the oil rig and have to detonate the missile at launch. Back at LV base, Graves and Shadow Company carry out a hostile takeover, and Ghost and Soap escape separately into Las Almas with Shadows in hot pursuit.
03 Nov 2022 0000hrs, Las Almas — “ALONE” Soap makes his way through Las Almas, evading Shadow Company mercs, to the church Ghost has holed up in, and learns about guerilla warfare. They speculate that Graves and Shepherd are up to something. Soap doesn’t know when to stop flirting. Once reunited, they escape Las Almas to Alejo’s safehouse, where they find Rudy in hiding. They make their plan to rescue Alejo and the rest of Los Vaqueros.
03 Nov 2022 0400hrs, Las Almas — “PRISON BREAK” Ghost, Soap, and Rudy break Alejo and LV out of prison. Price and Gaz arrive to assist, and reveal that Laswell discovered Shepherd and Graves were the ones to have lost the American missiles in the first place. Once back at Alejo’s safehouse, Price confronts Shepherd over Zoom video chat. Shepherd doubles down. Price and Alejo align to take back LV base, and Ghost shows his face for the first time. Ghost Team is formed. You get a mask and you get a mask and you get a mask.
03 Nov 2022 1630hrs, Las Almas — “GHOST TEAM” Ghost Team takes back LV base. Soap brings C4 to a tank fight and wins. Graves gets blown up (or does he??? #graveslives). Valeria reveals the final missile is in Chicago. 141 leaves Las Almas. Ghost speaks some of the most British Spanish ever.
04 Nov 2022 0200hrs, Chicago — “COUNTDOWN” 141 and a Marine strike force lay siege to the corporate building that Hassan and AQ have installed the missile onto. As they chase Hassan down, the missile launches, and Price and Soap race to get ahold of the controls. Soap gets them, and with Laswell’s direction detonates the missile mid-flight. Hassan gets ahold of Soap afterwords, and tries to throw him out a window after giving a supervillain speech. Ghost, in sniper position, shoots Hassan dead and saves Soap’s life.
An unspecified, but likely very short, amount of time later, 141 and Laswell are having celebratory drinks at a bar. Laswell presents the new enemy, and Price gives name to the face: Makarov.

A SUMMARY OF LEE’S PAST BECAUSE ITS TAKE A LONG TIME TO TYPE THIS.
(This is included the Slendermansion, and all that, also in my headcanons the woods acted like some kinda of portal, and with just on wrong turn you could end up in a different country. This forest acted like some kinda portal system. So yeah :0] )
Lee James Rush was born in West Virginia on December 8 ??? (I constantly change his age. He was born to then 16 year old Tina Rush, and 16 year old Michael Smith. From a young age he had Insomnia, ADHD, and dyslexia causing him more problems, and distress. From birth his parents never got along, so a few months after Lee’s birth they went their separate ways. Lee grew up with his mother Emily, and her boyfriend Dave and his grandma Tina only visiting his father on the weekends. He never really got along with his family, but he did get along with his half sister Ann, his half brother Eli, his old Stepbrother Landon, his old step mom, and his other half sister Bella,. (Ann, and Eli are from his moms side, and the other two are from his dads side) His mom’s side of the family were drug addicts, and were know as white trash around the area they lived in. And his dads side didn’t want much to do with him do to him being trans (FTM) and having different beliefs.
Later on in life he would develop a good amount of mental problems like Dermatillomania, Trichotillomania, Schizophrenia, he struggled with SH, BPD. But getting older he got better with Trichotillomania and it became less of a problem. A few times when he was younger there would be visible spots were hair was pulled out read his neck. He uses only pull out hair on his arm and that spot so it would he hard for others to notice. Tho when talking to him he could hide things well so he didn’t last out at other like his parents did, but sometimes he would slip up.
As a young kid he was pretty timid, but as he grew he became more recklessly, carefree, more social. This was because as he grew up he cared less about what happened to him in the end. He would pickpocket people he disliked, got into fights around the trailer park his dad lived in, stole cigarettes of his parents ect. Tho he was wild he did have a good few friends and if you got to know him or meet him when he was in a good mood he was a pretty nice guy.
His first kill. When he was 12 him and a neighbor kid (In his moms neighbor) were out in the woods In late October. Lee was just trying but the kid wouldn’t leave him alone. He keep trying to provoke him. After what let into a small altercation Lee ended bashing The kids skull in with a rock. He hid the body in an old well,a den did his best to hide the evidence. This event screwed him up mentally for a week or so after. After that first kill he got a bit boost and started to continue.
His mask. A year later in was late October Halloween night. He wore a homemade paper mache clown mask, brown cargo pants, and a white hoodie with colorful panted on stars. He’d been getting candy and pulling his then 3 year old sister Ann around in a wagon. As the night progressed he was jumped by three kids from school they roughed him up a little, and stole most of their candy. He took his little sister home pissed he left her with one of the neighbors passing out candy since his mom, grandma, and Daniel wasn’t home (he didn’t trust them looking after her anyways) after that he grabbed some thing. After that he tracked the kids down and “took care of them” in some wooded area before taking some of the candy back. He hide the body’s around the area waiting to be found before he went home. After that he stuck with wearing paper mache clown masks.
Slenderman. When he was 15 that’s when he first started to see Slenderman. It was after he hide one of his victims body’s in the woods. He just shrugged it off as one of his many strange hallucinations not paying much mind to him. As time when on he started to see him more, and in his dreams. (I’ll make another post adding a bit onto this someday.) in the end when he was 19 and in college trying to become a civil Engineer that’s when he finally started to work for him. He was home visiting friends on some weekend and decided to stay the night at one of their house. He saw Slenderman once more, and fore once he decided to see when he wanted? (He basically snuck out of his friends house at night.) After a small conversation he decided to join Slenderman. (He kind’s regretted this later, but he still doesn’t care much because he’s kinda he lived this long.)

🎃Inktober of 2022 - Day 31: Halloween Time!! 👻🎃
🇵🇷Me: This is it, people! It's been a long ride through October of 2022; especially going around my previous Inktober art I ever wanted to get it all than last year. However due to some issues that I would've think hard enough if I'll try again for next year. What that being said though, I really did good back there when it comes to making Inktober art for my mains to having Brown facing the apocalypse. For today's Inktober art will be the last unfortunately, but at least hoping to everyone can enjoy this with the Rabbits family. Sure wish Choco would join along as well if it wasn't the fact he'll be busy doing slaying demons. Don't worry, he'll be back before theis Halloween party is over. For the meanwhile though, at least there's one family member that she deserved to be here for this year's Halloween.

We need to talk about Stranger Things.
I’ve had so many thoughts about this series that I’m not certain I’ve already posted or just daydreamt about it. But I have enough time now to write a proper rant, so here we are. From media analysis to random thoughts and expectations for season 5, I have so much to talk about. I’ll organize everything into different posts, and each will be tagued accordingly.
Before we start, I should mention English is my second language, so don’t be surprised by my syntaxe or any possible mistake.
This very post will be dedicated to the timeline. The second will be a non-exhaustive list of little details. Then, I’ll be writing about Billy’s character and the insufferable comparison with Jason, and I’ll finish with the obscure elements of previous seasons and a few possible theories for season 5.

TIMELINE
Summer 1923 : last missing person in Hawkins
1945 : Victor Creel comes back from the war
1950′s : MK Ultra programme begins with Henry Creel
1959 : The Creels settle in their house and tragedy ensues (he is 40, his wife is 36, their daughter 15 and Henry 12)
Fall 1961 : Last suicide in Hawkins
Mid 1970s : Terry Ives’s experimentation and lawsuit + Jane’s birth
March 22nd, 1971 : Will’s birth
1973 : Joyce starts working at Melvald’s
1979 : Hopper becomes chief of police

November 11th 1983 : Funeral day, Nancy and Jonathan team up and find an entrance to the Upside Down and a demogorgon, Hopper reaches out to Joyce
November 12th 1983 : Joyce and Hopper visit Terry Ives, Steve gets beat up by Jonathan. Later Nancy, Jonathan and Steve burn a demogorgon, Hopper and Joyce find Will and El “disappears” then secretly comes back
November 13th 1983 : They’re at the hospital
December 24th 1983 : Xmas Eve, Will coughs up a demoslug and Hopper leaves food for El in the forest

June 28th 1984 : The Russians start experimenting to open a gate
October 29th 1984 : Arcade night
October 30th 1984 : Day 352 that El is away from Mike, Max and Billy are introduced and later Dustin and Lucas spy on her. Murray, Bob and Owens are also introduced. Merill’s pumpkins are dying and there is an alert at Hawkins Lab because of an Upside Down storm
October 31st 1984 : Halloween night, Tina’s party and Dustin finds Dart in his trash
November 1st 1984 : Steve and Nancy break up, El goes outside and has a big fight with Hopper, Will gets flayed
November 2nd 1984 : “he likes it cold”, Hopper gets lost in the vine tunnels, Nancy and Jonathan leave Hawkins for Illinois with the incriminating tape and sleep at a motel, Dart eat Mews and El sees her mom in her mind then decides to find her
November 3rd 1984 : Will draws the vine and Mike, Joyce and Bob figure it out to save Hopper and they all go to Hawkins Lab when the burn of the vines hurts Will. Dart escapes and Steve decides to help Dustin. El visits Terry then leaves for Chicago to find Kali (n°8). Jonathan and Nancy get together while staying at Murray’s, they also send the tapes to ruin the lab
November 4th 1984 : Lucas tells the truth to Max and they go help Dustin and Steve to capture/kill Dart. Billy beats the shit out of Steve and almost gets castrated. Will “betrays” the soldiers and the demodogs invade the lab. Bob dies, everyone eventually get together, they burn the particles out of Will’s body and El closes the gate. El has spent 327 days with Hopper.
December 15th 1984 : Snow Ball : Lucas and Max get together, Mike and El get together, Dustin has cool hair, Will is gay.

June 28th 1985 : movie night, the gate is reopened by the Russians
June 29th 1985 : Joyce’s magnets fall down. Dustin comes back from Camp Knowhere, they install the radio tower and he picks up the russian code, the rats get posessed by the particles and explode, Nancy receives the call from Mrs. Driscoll and Billy gets flayed
June 30th 1985 : Mike lies about his Nana, Nancy and Jonathan visit Mrs. Driscoll, Dustin and Steve cute reunion then Robin translates the first sentence of the code. El and Max bond and El breaks up with Mike. Will and Mike fight. Hopper gets stood up by Joyce and Heather gets flayed.
July 1st 1985 : Joyce and Hopper go back to the lab and get attacked by the Russian. Max and El look for Heather the same night her parents get flayed. Flayed Driscoll goes to the hospital. The Scoops Ahoy crew finds the russian base. El sleeps at Max’s.
July 2rd 1985 : Joyce and Hopper get info from mayor Kline then find Alexei. The party traps Flayed-Billy in the sauna. Child endangerment mission leads to Dustin, Robin, Steve and Erica to be stuck in a russian elevator.
July 3th 1985 : Hopper, Joyce and Alexei go to Murray for translation. Scoops Troops find the gate in the russian base and Steve and Robin get questioned/tortured/drugged. The flayed-journalists attack the party at the hospital.
July 4th 1985 : The adults go back to Hawkins to save the children and destroy the russian base. Robin comes out to Steve. Alexei dies. The fleshy Mind Flayer goes after the party, Dustin sings with Suzie. El loses her powers after the Mind Flayer bites her. Billy dies, the gate-opening machine is destroyed and Hopper “dies”.
3 months later : Steve and Robin are hired at Family Videos. Byer-Hopper family moves out.

March 21st 1986 : Day 185 in California, last day of school before spring break. Championship game in Hawkins and Eddie’s campaign finale. Chrissy dies the same night in Eddie’s trailer
March 22nd 1986 : Mike goes to Cali, and then there’s the incident at Rink-O-Mania. Chrissy’s body is found and Max, Dustin, Robin and Steve find Eddie at Reefer Rick’s, trying to help him
March 23rd 1986 : Joyce and Murray go to Alaska to exchange money against Hopper’s freedom. El goes through a fake-arrestation so that Owens can help her get her powers back. Robin and Nancy find out about Victor Creel’s story. Breaking and entering at school then Max has her first Vecna vision
March 24th 1986 : visit at Pennhurst Asylum, Max reads her letter to Billy and gets Vecna’d but survives thanks to Kate Bush. Hopper, Enzo, Joyce and Murray are betrayed by Yuri. Beginning of Nina project with Brenner and Owens. Will, Jonathan and Mike are attacked by the military and leave Cali with Argyle
March 25th 1986 : Chrissy’s funeral. The Hawkins crew goes to Victor Creel’s house and Vecna kills Patrick. Joyce, Yuri and Murray crash the plane and invade the prison. Joyce and Hopper reunite, then escape. The Cali crew goes to Suzie’s to find the location of the Nina project. El gets her memories back about n°1/Henry Creel/Vecna as well as her powers
March 26th 1986 : The Cali crew finds the location of the Nina project while the army attacks the place. El escapes with them but Brenner dies. She piggy-backs from a pizza dough freezer to help the Hawkins crew defeat Vecna. The Russia crew kills all the flayed demo-creatures in the prison to give the kids the upper-hand. The Hawkins crew follows their plan but Eddie dies, Max ends up in a coma, Jason gets torn apart and the gates to the Upside Down merge together and partly destroy Hawkins.
March 28th 1986 : 2 days later. Hawkins is evacuated, Robin finally talks to Vickie. Everyone comes back together at Hopper’s shed in the woods, but Vecna is still alive and the Upside Down starts taking over the real Hawkins with some cool epic music in the background.
There might be some mistake between July 3rd and 4th 1985, so I’ll revise that later, but for now these are all the dates mentioned (including others, found through calculations or details on screen).

October Halloween Movie Fest Day 27:
Tonight I watched Idle Hands! I’ve seen it before, and liked it, and then promptly forgot about it right up until @devantheimpaler recommended it, and I’m glad they did! I remembered it being fun and dumb, and it was, but it was like intentionally dumb in a way that made it more fun. The characters were more dumb than the movie, if that makes sense. All of this in a good way. It has good effects and a fun spooky vibe, and some AMAZING Evil Hand acting which I am a bit of a sucker for, and Seth Green is always great. My only complaint is the paper-thin personality of the Sexy Love Interest, and I’m sure she gave the target demographic exactly what they were looking for, and she improved a bit by the end. Good choice, will definitely watch it again sometime.
Treehouse of Horror 27 (Dry Hard/BFF R. I. P./Moefinger)
I think these segments were pretty good generally, but I am really noticing how short each segment is and how overstuffed the episodes have become. I get that this was the 600th and they wanted to go crazy, but they had a respectable opening with past villains, then a second opening that was a overly long couch gag masquerading as a segment of its own, and then three whole segments after that, each of which felt like they ended too soon. It was too much to cram in, really. Anyway, Dry Hard was a great mixed parody of The Hunger Games and Mad Max Fury Road with cool designs and lots of fun character deaths—and the “part one” “part two” etc title cards got funnier the deeper they went. Not terribly spooky other than the death, and as I said above it did feel slightly rushed, but i think this one did a little better on that front than the others. BFF R. I. P. was a very good little Lisa story—I will have to update my stats someday—and brought the most Spookiness IMO. Also, if I had a nickel for every time I saw a living thing be put in a microwave and zapped to death tonight, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice. Moefinger had the most abrupt ending I think, but did have a spectacular fight sequence like it’s inspiration, antagonist Homer was a lot of fun, and I think it was a more interesting and creative use of Moe than some of his other THOH outings. Pretty good overall, I just wish each segment was a little bit longer. Oh, and TheRealJims’ video about THOH deaths mentioned that he’s convinced the writers were very deliberately killing off a huge number of characters in this episode, perhaps for the 600th occasion, and I can’t unsee that. There were a lot of deaths! My list is now 1, 5, 4, 7, 6, 3, 2, 20, 9, 8, 17, 27, 23, 16, 15, 25, 26, 19, 13, 24, 21, 12, 14, 10, 18, 22, 11.
