An apparently unpopular opinion: disabled people can have and do their hobbies. They deserve to have fun. They deserve to live their lives.
Their inability to do some things (like work, for example) does not mean they should be judged for… idk hanging out with their friends or to going outside. After all, having interests outside of work is often essential to our mental and physical health OUTSIDE of our disability.
And also *you might want to sit down for this* disabled people know what’s disabling for them (unless they people-please or push through due to necessity or survival of some sort). Disabilities don’t have to be visible or persistent to be disabling.
So yeah - my declaration: if an activity you want to do feels good and you’re able to do it, then do it. REGARDLESS OF YOUR DISABILITY WITH OTHER THINGS.

I've written it plenty, but let me say it with my full chest after episode 10.
I DON'T LIKE MEW AND CHUEM.
Tumblr media
They ain't shit. They suck. They are the worst. They are annoying.
Even the camera kept cutting Ray out probably to emphasize these two are basically the twins from The Shining.
This is not about the actors. This is fully about these horrible ass characters.
Mew refused to define his relationship with Top regulating Top back to the talking-phase, so when Top slept with Boston, they weren't actually dating. It's splitting hairs, I know. But I don't like Mew, so I'm being petty.
Then he acted like sex was some grand prize that Top had to prove worthy of.
Mew punched Ray in the club just so he could take his revenge on Top later.
He lit the papers on fire knowing that is Top's trauma.
Chuem and Mew are always such jerks to Ray then blamed Ray for Mew being a piece of shit after his breakup with Top.
He got Nick involved in his payback to Boston (like Boeing is doing to him, and I hope Boeing fucks everyone up!), only to get the sex tape and threaten Boston with it.
He told Top he'd give him another chance only to play games the same damn way he did before.
Oh, then Chuem!
She didn't care about Mew's boundaries regarding Top, and is super creepy about Top too.
She slut shames Boston all the time.
She is the only one keeping this project going, honestly, but she is quick to push her group members out the second she is unhappy.
She is the first to throw out that "friends don't treat friends this way" yet is the first one to throw verbal stones.
She lectured Ray as he was being arrested.
Chuem and Mew think they are superior to everyone else.
These might be 20-year old mistakes, but these characters still fucking suck.
I cannot stand them!

Martin's headcanon about SL Scar's decent into madness after not dying, stuck in a loop of pressing the success button and getting the task to win...
I want 3L Grian who has a quiet success before killing himself to meet SL Scar who's been stuck in this isolated loop all by himself.
I like the comfort in hurt/comfort, thanks.

I’m making a post, tw: abuse, sa
Every single disingenuous “critique” of episode for that revolves around pretending that Angel was written “liking” his abuse is fucking disgusting. You are not making any commentary about the episode, you are showing how little you know about abuse victims. You also show your COMPLETE lack of media literacy around the subject
Poison is a song about needing your abuser. The way that they have you in their clutches. You know they are bad for you, you want to leave, but you feel like you can’t, you feel their poison taking hold of you.
Poison is about Angel’s struggle with his abuser and how he hurts no matter what he portrays. The reason it’s upbeat with the horrifically sad lyrics is because that’s the facade Angel Plays. He pretends to be the sexy, open, very down to clown porn star because that’s who he’s had to be to please his abuser. He can’t turn it off because if he does in front of Valentino, he’s horrifically hurt.
However, this is a double edged sword. It causes him to not only ruin his relationships with others by testing their boundaries and picking fights with them, but it leads him to self destruct. He can’t keep it up all the time. He openly admits to letting people drug him. He’s self destructing, trying his hardest to ruin himself because he thinks he deserves it and that maybe, just maybe it’ll keep him from being Valentino’s favorite toy.
This is WIDELY relatable to many abuse victims. We suffer socially from our abuse, not just mentally. We can become mean people. We lash out at others. And we can have codependent relationships with our abusers. We miss them. We want to be with them. Not because we LIKE BEING ABUSED BUT BECAUSE WE ARE CURRENTLY VICTIMS OF ABUSE. Abuse targets people who are vulnerable. People who don’t have a social circle, and creates one with their abuser in the middle. Abuse breeds codependency.
I am extremely critical of the Hellaverse. But callous commentary on the SURPRISINGLY NUANCED DEPICTION OF ANGEL’S ABUSE has truly soured me to Vivziepop critical spaces. You’re not “owning” Viv with that shit. Viv already got her season 2 and her paycheck. You’re hurting people who see their experiences with Angel Dust. You’re also telling on yourself that abuse victims can’t confide in you about their less than flashy and fun experiences/symptoms. Just so you know.

Amazed at the narratives coming out of the dont worry darlings shitstorm. Either Olivia Wilde is a cougar/predator who completely destroyed her marriage and preyed on poor, innocent Harry Styles; or Olivia Wilde is only getting beaten on because misogyny, because she dared to do what men do all the time. Florence Pugh is devil incarnate for not being professional and doing the press tour. Olivia Wilde is somehow a feminist who is now seeing her downfall.
Consider: Harry and Olivia are both adults with presumable intact cognitive functions, have been in the industry long enough to be fully aware of how decent professionals behave, and yet chose to initiate and continue a sexual relationship on set that made their co-stars uncomfortable. Both of them are equally culpable for creating this environment; at all times, both of them could have stopped to think about what they were doing. Harry Styles is not an innocent victim; nor is Olivia Wilde a predator.
Consider: Men having the licence to do dodgy for ages isn’t the argument that you think it is. Some things are dodgy irrespective of who does them. Olivia Wilde isn’t a feminist just because she did what men do. In a professional work environment, any two people being involved in a romantic/sexual relationship does not exist in a vacuum, it is situated in a larger context where unimaginable amounts of money, time and effort are going into creating a product with only a 50% chance to succeed. Instead of engaging in whataboutism, perhaps the conversation needs to be on what acceptable standards of behaviour on a set actually are. How much can you put on “creative synergy” and “creative licence” and get away with? Where should one draw the line?
Consider: Professional behaviour should never violate someone’s boundaries. The derogatory way in which Ms. Wilde spoke about Florence Pugh in that infamous video was extremely unkind and unprofessional. Florence is right to draw her boundaries and go about her business politely. Drawing boundaries isn’t “unprofessional” or “rude”. She’s not obligated to be nice to someone who was rude about them.
Consider: a woman making films isn’t inherently a feminist act. Olivia Wilde isn’t a feminist by the virtue of being a woman in the workplace. We need to ask ourselves tough questions; feminism isn’t a flag you wave around. It is movement, it is a war, it is fighting in a war that won’t end in your lifetime. Instead of sucking Olivia Wilde’s toes; ask yourselves tough questions. How many women did she hire as crew on her set? Did she give equal pay to these women? How much did Harry Styles make compared to Florence Pugh? (Reportedly, Pugh made less than Styles despite being lead, but i can’t find verified sources for this) What about on-set energy? Did she foster an environment that wasn’t only professional but also kind, and gave women the space to express discomfort? Of the women she hired in her film, how many were POC? How many were neurodivergent? What kind of men did she work with during the making of this film?
Glass ceilings don’t get shattered because one white woman who is conventionally beautiful was able to make films. Glass ceilings get shattered when women uplift women, at the cost of labels like “feminist bitch” and “biased” and “d*ke” - when women sacrifice the social capital they would get from men by turning their back on women, and choosing women at each turn (like men have chosen men but that is neither here nor there); by being aggressively, militantly pro women, pro LGBT as well as anti class, anti caste, anti racism etc.
* trans women are women

A little rant. cc3 spoilers
Idk one side guessed "dusk court even right to the name, tt and gwydion connection, the second daughters return to acotar, gwydion and tt power together, the cauldron being wrong...and many more important plot points
And the other side thought...cassian's orgasm is connected to their ship, a pegasus toys color was important, audiobook narrator stopping when there were no elipsis was important, the count of the mentions in a book was important, that merrill and gwen was going to do searchy search for bryce, there were going to be sleepovers in crossover...
But somehow we are called crazy. IDK MAN. SOMETHING DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT HERE.

I've been seeing some really really bitter and irl world projection takes on Topaz since the recent storyline. Yes she went too far and was weirdly flip-floppy in morality. Tbh that's a writing problem and I definitely think they should have picked one, antagonist or unwilling participant in bad work. But you're acting like she's the IPC's biggest simp lord and like she's responsible for every sin known to god. She's really just doing her job. You hate the job, but the job is a job. People work in bad jobs. Like, a good percentage of Star Rail characters have had jobs that are not that far from Topaz's and yet we're getting mad about this one because the company is evil space Amazon? I bet you now we're only getting an inch on the story with the IPC coming in 1.5. It was implied that the place Topaz's ''''sob story'''' was about was Penacony and I bet again we're gonna be fighting the Family and doing something about the control there. This is just one IPC member who is just doing her job and got freaking demoted for changing her mind on something. And on that, she was convinced a world was gonna die and did what she thought would save them until Bronya proved her wrong and Topaz agreed to face her superiors with the change in plans. You think she's unaware the IPC is shitty? We haven't even MET her higher ups. Fucking hell, even the grunts were complaining (AND were acting completely independent from her because they did not listen to her at all). To be honest, if Topaz quit, they probably wouldn't let her go because she's got a talent for it. They'd probably hold Numby hostage because they're kinda the source for this money ability.
The IPC is gonna most likely be taken down and good riddance to involuntary space colonisation. We're just not there yet so THERE'S GOING TO BE EMPLOYEES. THAT ARE PEOPLE. WITH LIVES.
I've changed my pfp to a Guinaifen drawing because I was just as hype for her as Topaz and I don't like the shit I hear from people here. Like stop projecting shit on a fictional woman who happens to have a job you don't like. And you can like a character without supporting that job. Get real.

I've seen this post floating around many Facebook groups for the last few months, and I cannot stress how angry it makes me. Because it is 100% bullshit.
The topic of owners who don't feel able to stay with their pets at the end of their lives for whatever reason is a hot one, and some people will insist there is no excuse for not being present - but there are many reason, not least trauma, phobia, PTSD from previous losses, etc. It is no one's place to judge someone's personal capabilities. And I absolutely reject the suggestion that 90% of owners do not stay with their pet - that is absolutely false.
What upsets me most about this post is the suggestion that animals are "frantic" during their last moments, and that us as veterinary staff would allow this to be the case. Yes, some animals are distressed to be apart from their owners. But those animals are never briskly put down in a state of panic. My colleagues and I go to great lengths to make all of our patients as comfortable and peaceful as possible at the end. Animals without owners are given as many hugs, treats, kind words, love and care as any other. I cannot count how many dogs and cats I have held in my arms and spoken calming words to as they passed. I have had a dog collapse on me because I held him up so he could bury his nose in a treat jar as the drugs were injected. To suggest that we would EVER allow an animal to pass whilst "frantically looking around" is deeply insulting.
Please, if you read any posts like this, do not believe them. Veterinary staff have enough problems with mental health and abuse without this untrue bullshit being floated around.
I just really needed to get this off my chest.

Song Taewon is an amazing character. But I kind of hate him. I mean, I get where his actions come from. Like, in the end it's for the safety of Yoojin. I hated how obsessively protective Yoohyun was of Yoojin. But it mellowed down somehow, and ultimately, he learns how to be protective without having to think if chaining up his brother. And Yoojin was also able to convince him to change his ways. But this man, Song Taewon. I understand how he is afraid of himself and hates himself amd think he's a monster and all, and I do feel for him. I kind of understand him too, like where it's all coming from. But like, it's for your own good so let me just choke you so that you know how dangerous S classes can be, and by giving you this trauma, you'll stay away from them. I understand there's a power imbalance between Yoojin and Yoohyun, and the S class brother can easily abuse the frail one. Taewon's right on that part. But his actions somehow make me think that he wants Yoojin to stay away and be afraid of his younger brother. Like, think about Yoojin's wishes here? Man knows how dangerous it is and he still chose to take the risk, because he knows it's worth it. And it's not like he was fairing any good without Yoohyun anyway. Drinking and smoking away, depression amd stuff (Eventhough it was mostly because of Yoohyun's later actions)
Song Taewon's like, lemme reduce the rank of your skill and proceeds to reduce the one skill that keeps him mentally sane? Like dude, do you know how many nightmares and trauma that fear resistance helps to keep at bay? I know he doesn't know it. But still. He did it so that Yoojin wouldn't come near the S classes and also so that the S classes won't salivate over his doubling skill. He felt the power and exhilaration and he liked it, it was addictive and he got afraid of it because it's hard to control his desire. But dude, it's Yoojin's own skill and he decides what to do with it. I understand if he was going around and murdering everybody or something. But he's literally what? Helping so that dungeon raids become easier and the society could be more at ease? Uprooting the association's corrupt parts? He's using his skills as he pleases without negatively affecting the world. And like, you come and do this sh*t? Who is he to decide this? For Yoojin's protection? Well congrats man, you just made his life more miserable. More nightmares, more trauma and anxiety. Yet he continues to do what he does, this time struggling even more. As if what he faced isn't already enough. You use your skill on another guy for his 'protection' but he cleary doesn't want you to, and you forced it on him. Like, dipsh*t, where's a person's freedom of choice here? What if the skill he deranked was one that reduces the pain he feels and what if Yoojin had some kind of chronic pain? Well, your decision to 'protect' him will cause him to go through hell! Isn't he a guy with self control? Can't he think?! I hated this about him.
But I do understand where he comes from. Doesn't make me hate him any less. It might've been the paranoia or something. And he might've thought it to be the best course of action.
But dude, if I had a dream of being a model, and my dad goes and says it's dangerous for you and there will be creepy people staring at you so you can't be one and forcefully make me chose another path, saying it's for my own protection, am I supposed to feel good? What about what I want to do? My freedom of choice? You can't just force me to do something I don't want to. It's not like I'm causing the society any harm by pursuing my dreams? (Just an example)
Song Taewon's a civil servant, he has duties and a very important role in the stability if the society. I understand. I also understand the inner turmoil he faces. But I hate him.
His dynamic with Yoojin and Sung Hyunjae is quite amusing though. I'm not shipping the three if them, I will never. But it is cute, like I'm introverted and unworthy of love, I'm a monster and the other two go aigoo, who's my little monster, my cuddly bug, you're so sweet, so big and intimidating but so cute. It's funny.
But I hate him to guts. Just my opinion though. I think his character is intresting and a little funny, but that's it.

I gotta say, I've been shipping elucien since acomaf.
But after acowar I kinda forgot about the series. I was not following Sjm, was not on tumblr, not really paying attention. 2018 rolled around and nothing! I wasn't sure if we'd get more. Or when.
And then, a few months after Silver Flames came out, I saw a post about it, and it being about Nesta and Cassian.
So as I was reading sf for the first time, I saw a connection between Azriel and Gwyn. It was evident to me as there was a lot more interaction between them than, let's say him and Emerie. Even him and Nesta. Always glancing toward each other, the competitiveness, "you're the new ribbon", Az being amused and encouraging, dagger lessons, etc...
And after I discovered the bonus chapters, it (to me) only confirmed what I had already suspected.
Both elucien and gwynriel were not just pulled out of thin air. They have moments, banter, tension and conversations that makes thousands of people want them to end up together.
-Elucien are actual mates.
-Sjm retconned Lucien's heritage after changing her mind and making them mates instead of him and Nesta.
-She has publicly talked about them (as a couple) twice.
-Both their names means 'light' in some form.
To state that casual (or new) readers would be surprised and upset to read a book about them is the dumbest shit I've heard in a while.
Because not everybody sees the e/riel appeal, believe it or not. Regardless of being a casual reader or in the cult. It is not so obvious to everyone.
And just because gwynriel happens, it doesn't mean that Elain won't get a book smh🤦‍♀️elucien is there for a reason...
Sjm stated that each book will follow one couple getting together.
Just like Nesta got a book with Cassian. where Nesta was the lead.
Elain could get a book with Lucien, where Elain will be the lead.
Azriel could get a book with Gwyn, where he will (likely) be the lead.
Or... Elain and Azriel could get a book, where I guess she will be the lead.
To claim casual/new reader's opinion is weird as hell. "My friend has never read acotar before and she ships Az and Elain." Okay? Great? I'm sure you had nothing to do with it?? I could easily try to influence my friends to ship the people I ship. So they wouldn't get the chance to really make up their own opinions of each potential couple.
Even ten or twenty years down the line... how do you know how people will perceive these books, the characters, when the fandom is as split as it is currently? It's a stupid argument.
Nothing's been confirmed yet (let's hope that changes soon 'cause I'm hanging on by the thinnest of threads rn) so hold your horses!
Anything could happen.

I never once met a Histukarin shipper that was against Ichiruki and sited age as a reason or tried to make our ship canon or even just hated on a ship in a hypocritical way. But that seems like all everybody else could find when talking about people who ship this ship. Oh yes, i did see someone call someone who ships hitsukarin then hates on Ichiruki because they were far apart in age was a hypocrite. Then turn around and say, Karin is literally 14 and Hitsugaya is 50 plus so why do you ship them, it's pedophilia...
Its super obvius that you ship Ichiruki for 1 and for 2, you can't hate masaIshi and hitsukarin for that same reason when you ship Ichiruki.

Ok so the thing about twilight is that I think from right when the writers made her an alicorn that they already knew what the ultimate ending of the show would be. And judging by the all her friends unsurprised reactions then, throughout the show and in the final episode, they all must’ve known too somehow. Twilight the most of all… That her fate would always be ~Ruler of Equestria~. But I don’t think she’s always 100% down for it like especially in the movie (the one where they’re horse mermaids) there’s a point where they’re all underwater and everyone’s waiting for twilight to save them from drowning and instead she just kinda leans back and looks relieved. And when they Do get saved she’s shocked! She’s like I.. I didn’t make these bubbles..! Like she really was down for them all to drown to death. Not sure where I was going with this but I think maybe twilight is the best character just because of all the things u can infer about her

THIS IS A LOT, THERES BAD GRAMMAR AND LONG RAMBLING. IF YOU LIKE THE LIFE SERIES AND LORE IMPLICATIONS... BE MY GUEST. It also is primarily focused on desert duo.
PLEASE, I want a 3L winner Grian that learns about the next series like a book you'd remember reading a few weeks ago. It's not fully clear but you remember how it left you feeling and the important parts.
I need SL Scar that remembers the previous seasons as he lived through them. Sure to be suprisesed just like the rest of the winners when the next season starts and he's just watching himself from a distance. Scar that is now tormented by loneliness, he thought he had no friends before but now... now there's nobody.
The winners meet in some distant place similar to how the ghost do, but they watch every next season for the next winner.
SL Scar overcome by something when he realizes that Grian, his Grian, never fully recovered from winning the first time. Suddenly he's acutely aware of how it's probably dictated Grian through the rest of the games. He's not an idiot, something is wrong with him now. His hands shake too hard at just the sight of a button for there to NOT be something wrong with him. This Grian didn't go on to keep playing, he sat and watched and welcomed every winner after himself. A part of Scar mourns this poor version of his friend, the one that didn't come back but watched a version of himself keep going. (Especially in DL, when they were once again tied together but that Grian only got the stress and a haunted echo of yearning from the winning Grian.) Softly and quietly, like he'd understand that finally having people could hurt if not handled right, he approaches this Scar and apologizes. They sit on the ground with a few feet between them as 3L Grian confesses that he'd always love Scar even if he struggled in the next seasons to be around Scar, that the instinct to care and comfort wouldn't go away but he watched himself distance himself and try to quiet it. 3L Grian always taking the time to check on Scar in each season, laugh at his jokes even when Scar thinks he's alone.
Scar just listens to this Grian babble as he readjust to having someone akin to living with him again. He could have sworn he was minutes, days, away from completely losing it and maybe he has. Could his imagination be playing tricks on him and giving him everything he's wanted? Then he stops that train of thought. This feels familiar, kind of like when they died during sessions and spectate as ghost. He chooses that moment to tune back into to catch Grian talking about how it took longer from him to get there, kinda like Martin. They both didn't die right after winning, doomed to wander until the change between them being players to something the group has just dubbed winners. Grian smiles sadly as he briefly mentions that his and Pearl's were quick and painless thanks to death. Finally Scar can move easier and he buries himself into Grians chest. The flowers embroidered on his shawl remind Scar that he gifted it to Grian after staying up all night to suprise his dear partner in 3L. After being alone season after season, even when he had the clockers, he remembers why it was so hard to make that connection. It was cause the first will always be the strongest. Grian whispers soft anecdotes to make him chuckle as they just bask in each other. Grian apologizes in advance if he treats Scar like 3L cause he never properly experienced the seasons after. Pearl is apparently always a bit weary of Scott. Martin talks about it being a death game and needing no one but he's never too far from Scott and is a little too protective of him. Scar laughs a little and shakes his head before taking any courage (and a little desperation) and tells Grian about his 'backwards' day. That he jumped on the chance without thinking and forgot himself as he screamed, "yes, always, forever." Only to realize what he'd condemned himself to. He locked eyes with his Eurydice and could only swallow his heart in his throat as he ran.
... I could keep going but...

Every so often, I come across MDZS fans who dislike the main character, who condemn his every action, who call him "spoilt" and "immature" and call him a bad person. And sometimes, it's oddly obvious they want their faves to have his story so badly.
They're subconsciously admitting to themselves that he's a kind, compassionate, heroic and intelligent person who did the best he could when presented with a series of terrible options with no way out, and yet still force themselves through mental gymnastics to look down on Wei Wuxian. They want other characters they project onto to have his talent, his story, his love interest, even his child, because it guts them that Wei Wuxian is the hero of the story, the tragic figure who found the strength to do the right thing.
I'll see people who stan certain side characters put down Wei Wuxian and condemn the Yiling Patriarch, and then turn around and write fics like "What if <insert their favourite blorbo> was the Yiling Patriarch instead?". I get it - we all love AUs and playing with character roles and dynamics, but isn't it odd when people criticize the Yiling Patriarch, only to glorify the role when it only applies to their favourite characters?
If Wei Wuxian is truly the irresponsible, flighty fool who screwed over your faves, why would you still project his strengths and qualities onto them? Why do people who dislike Wei Wuxian still rewrite their faves with his story, with his title, his unbending selflessness, and even his love interest?
