35. Have you ever tried archery?

Yes, I have! I actually had a bow as a kid (I somehow got it for free by selling popcorn, which was like a fundraiser my Cub Scout pack did). I then proceeded to break it when I was like 13 or 14 by pulling it back too hard😅

I've been wanting to get a new bow, but with all the other crap I want and need to buy, I'm not sure I really have the money right now. Some day, though. Some day.

53. Favorite foreign food?

My dad makes this spätzle (it's not quite the same, but I like to think of it as 'alfredo pasta if it was invented by the Germans') that is DELICIOUS. Honestly I just really love German food in general. Maybe it's because it's the food of my people, I don't know, but I love it.

And I have a weird love for Asian food, especially this Korean place in my hometown (it's run by two sisters who both go by Kim, one works the kitchen while the other is the waitress, and Kim the Waitress is hilarious).

First off, thank you so much, anon! I'm really glad you enjoy the nonsense that I put out.

Now, have I got fic recs? Have I got fic recs? Oh, I have fic recs for days. Seriously, I have a lot. I'd recommend even more but this was already getting long, so uh...this is what I got. They're mostly ATLA, because that's what I've been into for the past year; I threw in a few from Dragon Age and Horizon: Zero Dawn that I really enjoy.

Terra insists I have, anyways, and I trust her so I'm goin' with it) salt and ashes by@ultranos, an unconventional Azula-redemption AU story that blew my mind when I first read it and still blows my mind Blue flicker beat by @stardust-steel, about Zuko and his relationship with lightning (it's short but unexpectedly cool) broken pieces still belong by @thinkingisadangerouspastime (faerialchemist on AO3), about Katara, trauma, and forgiveness Soldier's Heart, The Good in Us, All You Wanted, and I Need You So Much Closer by @soozencreates; first 2 are about Azula, Sokka, Toph, and forgiveness, 3rd is about Azula, Ursa, Zuko, and troubled families, and the 4th is a Tysuki fic that hurts, but it hurts so good to play at being human by finalizer, an Azula-redemption fic where Azula had her bending taken away, then returned - with rules graphite and tea & summer blooms by @drowning-in-cacophony(annavale23 on AO3), both Modern AU and two of my all-time favorite Maiko fics count herself among them by @myargalargan, an amazing fic about the unseen adventures of Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors Blue by @writebecauseyoucannotbreathe, a stunning Azulaang soulmate AU and it's my whole heart (weighted and measured) by @agentcalliope, one of my all-time favorite Azula-redemption fics love's a word I've always hated by @thereisnowarinbasingsee, a gorgeous, Maiko-centric 'Mai and Ty Lee escape Boiling Rock' AU As A Whole by @azuwulastan (HowILearnedToLoveTheBomb on AO3), a post-war Azula redemption series with some slow burn Tyzula feels like we only go backwards by @oldpotatoe, probably one of the best Zukka tales there is; Sokka loses his memory, forgetting that he's, uh, close friends with the Fire Lord

So, seven sentences from a WIP. 

I ended up spending 20 minutes trying to decide which WIP to share from (anyone know what the metric for ‘too many’ is?). I ended up picking my Azula redemption fic, which is only like 1/10 of the way of the done and will probably be re-written at least twice. This scene is one of the earlier ones.

“I’m sorry,” her mother murmurs, her voice fading out as if she’s walking away.” I failed you, my brave little dragon. I’m sorry.”

Azula stares at the glass shards all around her, at the cracks where her mother once was. She hangs her head, and something floods over her. She chokes out one bitter sob, then another, and then suddenly she can’t stop.

She buries her face in her palms, and cries, and cries, and cries.

Now. Tags. No requirement to follow through for anyone! I’ll go with @alcnolien, @gothladymai, and @thereisnowarinbasingsee. And whoever else sees this and decides they want to join in the fun.

Well, her class wouldn’t be back for ten minutes, at least. She shrugged, crossing the distance between them. Now was as good a time as any to rip off that bandage.
