“ have you found what you’re looking for ? ” ( Danny or Heisenberg :3 )
Rule of Rose
No, of course not. He'd never find what he was looking for. Pain---dull, throbbing, and spreading outwards by the second----holds him fast for a few moments more, his eyes left to wander along the length of the crack now spanning and segmenting the mirrors' glass. There should be blood. There should be blood. It should pour out and fill the sink until it overflows.
Tumblr media
With exhaustion radiating from his slender, slightly hunched frame Danny's gaze remains fixated on the ruined glass before him. He could PULL IT APART. He could RIP OUT those jagged pieces and render them unrecognizable with only his bloodied hands to show for it in the end. They'd match then; their cracks and SHIFTING, BROKEN PIECES would be the same and no one would be able to see anything at all except---
The doctor moves then; his hand finally falling away from the epicenter of the crack that his fist had created moments ago as he turns towards the young woman standing in the doorway. If only he could stay together like that. If only his insides had resisted the pull of gravity, if only he'd remained whole somehow....
Tumblr media
"...Had a bit of an.....overzealous patient in here earlier. An accident like this is too much of a VICIOUS TEMPTATION for the patients here so it'll need to be cleaned up quickly." Yes, please toss it away. Break and then scatter it as far and as wide as you can, if only to stop the jagged pieces from piercing him further. Pull it apart. Rip it out. Bloody your hands upon what remained of his insides.

~"You can't enjoy doing this, can you?" (for Danny because I FUCKING MISS HIM)
Tumblr media
The question sounds vague---purposely so, even---and yet the doctor's smile remains unchanged in its level of warmth even with the faint twitch now beginning at one corner. It's a twitching that heralds a widening---a smile shifting into a grin FULL OF TEETH that would swallow her whole if she wasn't careful...
Tumblr media
"I don't know what you mean. I think you've been making A LOT OF PROGRESS." Danny's voice is as calm as ever; self assured in his own assessment, and yet his mouth is still twitching ever so faintly. "I'd like to think that I HELP PEOPLE IN MY OWN WAY and what's not to enjoy about that? Haven't I helped you....?" That twitch has shifted into a spasm with each consecutive word; now becoming a thing that he couldn't stop even if he tried, and with it comes a faint tip of the man's head as he surrenders to that rising urge peers closely at the other with a sudden, direct attentiveness.
Tumblr media
"Is there something that you want to talk about? Something that YOU'VE BEEN HIDING FROM ME, perhaps? This process won't work unless we're honest with each other, you know that don't you....?" You spilling all of your troublesome, harrowing secrets would be far more 'enjoyable' than this coy little pretense of ours.

Courting Chaos (to Balance)
A KlarionxDanny brain worm that has spawned
Tim Drake, aka Red Robin gets kidnapped suddenly and very randomly by Klarion in the middle of a JL and others meeting.
Leaving with a
"I'LL RETURN HIM WHEN HES NO LONGER USEFUL JUSTICE LOSERS!"
And fire and chaos in his wake.
While the JL, and others scramble to figure out what Klarion has planned this time, Tim manages to break free of whatever Klarion had used to kidnap him only to find himself on a couch and Klarion nervously petting Teekl on his lap while also sitting in a chair across from him.
When Tim goes to demand to know why Klarion kidnapped him Klarion finally speaks.
"Okay, I wanna strike a deal. I won't bug you or your little Young Just US buddies if you help me ask someone out..."
"...What the fuck Klarion?" Was Tim's only response.
-x-x-
So it turns out, every so often the three main entities and actual factions of Order, Chaos, and Balance get together to well discuss things happening in certain Realms, worlds, and timelines. Basicly to touch base, see where everyone was at. Etc etc.
Order was Order. Chaos was Chaos.
Very simple.
Both could be bad. To much order caused restraint and could snuff out growth. To much Chaos could get out of hand and cause ruin.
Both could be good. Order help stabilizes worlds and builds their future. Chaos allowed creativity to roam and brought forth wonderful things.
And Balance.
Well Balance was the very scales that kept both sides in check. They were neutral grounds. The ones that normally oversaw the meetings as well. And despite their low numbers they held powerful entities that more than made up for it.
Balance did their best to keep things in check, sure they do have their own preference sometimes and allowed the scales to tip a tiny bit but always corrected it later if it tips to much.
It was at this meeting, a meeting even Klarion knew better than to do anything too chaotic, pranks were fine but nothing too much, and had been chatting with a newcomer to the side of Chaos (Danielle, call me Ellie, Phantom. She did some heroing on the side but liked causing chaos in her wake to do so, he liked her so far though.) When the bells for the side of Balance to appear announced them.
Ellie had smiled brightly and said her brother was coming with his mentor, turns out her brother was apart of the Balance group which meant that he was strong, strong enough to need a mentor.
He watched as the members of Balance walked, teleported, flew, and other means into the meeting halls. And then froze when his eyes caught sight of him.
Floating next to a blue skined being that was switching ages was a beautiful otherworldly person.
Snow white hair that wisped upwards oh so softly. Glowing green eyes that were cat-like with their piercing glance. A galaxy cloak hanged around his shoulders and seemed to shift with each movement. Star like freckles decorated his face and seemed to glow a soft bluish white. A crown made of ice and aurora lights floated above his head as well.
All in all Klarion couldn't keep his eyes off of the being at all. He nearly spat his water out when Ellie commented that was her brother Danny, or rather.
High King of the Infinite Realms, Daniel 'Danny' Phantom. The Great One. Defeater of the Tyrant King. The Halfa. The Peaceful End. The Balance of the Undead. (And his mentor was the Ghost of Time itself. THE very Keeper of Time, Kronos original form himself.)
Klarion honestly didn't know what to think or rather what emotions he was feeling when he spotted Danny, nor why his face felt so hot and red when the young man looked over at them and smiled. (He was smiling at Ellie but Klarion for some reason hoped it was for him as well)
It wasn't until halfway in the meeting when a rather ingenious prank that Klarion, Ellie, and a few others had set up went off... thing was it strong enough that it had hit Danny's side of the meeting and had hit him.
Now, again pranks were okay but only after the meetings. It was one of the few rules many, even those in Chaos, took seriously because once it was done and over they could go do their things. So for it to happen in the middle of a meeting means someone set their time on the prank wrong and add the fact it hit a person on the Balance side...
Yeah not good.
Only...
Only instead of getting angry, even Clockwork who was seated next to Danny was chuckling, Danny threw his head back and laughed about it. And his laugh... was very cute.
And before he knew it, Klarion had already fallen.
-x-x-
"So yeah.... Since you have a boyfriend and know how to date in this modern age, I need your advice."
".... Klarion just because I'm dating Bernard doesn't mean I know how I did it..."
"Bernard? I thought you were dating that one Supes?"

dp x dc Chronos
An idea that’s probably been touched on before but well.. once more!
~
It had begun with a meltdown. Being a fifteen year old was tough. High school was the time in your life where you were picking up life skills without even knowing it. Social skills, study habits, responsibilities stacked on responsibilities. It all seemed rather unfair when their brains weren’t done developing yet or… whatever Jazz had been telling him one afternoon.
The point was, being a teenager wasn’t all making memories and messing around. It was hard. Add on dying to that work load and things got complicated. Add on a ghost portal that allowed ghosts to come and go as they pleased when you were the only one that could safely stop them and things got stressful.
Parents that were trying to kill you…went without saying.
Become a king of a realm by fifteen, and see how you handle the sudden workload. Danny had been holding up fine, until he wasn’t. Until a particularly loud boom in his parents lab from whatever their latest torture invention was cause a tremor of fear to shoot up his spine. In an instant, panic was sparked. He wanted to leave, he thought about it often, but how could he just leave Amity Park behind? Would it be better outside of his parents house? Could he live alone?
The fear latched onto his core, and not being able to relax in his own haunt was apparently counterproductive to a healthy, happy halfa.
Before dying, Danny hadn’t been familiar with panic attacks, now, they weren’t entirely uncommon. One moment he would be overthinking in his bedroom, the next he’d be on his bed or the floor curled up in a ball. Tears flowing and throat clogged, he would sob under the weight of his responsibilities in silence. He doubted his parents would notice, but he hated to worry his sister. Being quiet was a must.
It was one of these episodes that had led to Clockwork appearing in his room, lifting Danny up into his arms like a child without even a weak protest. A post-it was left for Jazz so she wouldn’t worry and the king was returned to the Infinite Realm for a night.
That was the start of Danny spending time in Clockwork’s citadel any time he was feeling overwhelmed. Being outside of time, he was given the time to relax, sleep, or study. It lessened the burdens of trying to be a normal high school student, hero, and king all at once, or at least gave him a safe place to crash.
At least once a week, Danny made his way into Clockwork’s lair, long since allowed to enter on a whim unless expressly told otherwise for a day or two. For all Danny was king, he did his best not to interrupt Clockwork’s work and he knew beings from other dimensions popped in from time to time.
If Clockwork didn’t want him meeting them, he was going to take his opinion to heart and make himself scarce.
Danny wasn’t sure why he got the privilege to hide behind the ghost of time but he didn’t shun the offer. Any chance to get some sleep was a good one when he had ghosts like Skulker or Johnny waking him up at three in the morning with their bullshit.
Danny floated over a sofa, backpack forgotten on the floor and books hovering around him. The crown that hovered above his head kept going back and forth between being covered by ice or green flame. It seemed to do what it wanted like a living creature.
Danny had his own room in the citadel now but he was positive the sofa was put in Clockwork’s viewing room just for him.
He slept there more often than not.
“Hey Clockwork.” Danny called. He’d be ignored if Clockwork was deep into peering into the past for future, but would otherwise get an answer. “Can i ask you a question?”
In the time it took Clockwork to turn to face Danny, his age had altered subtly, five or ten years younger than middle aged.
Danny had always thought Clockwork had three ages he shifted between. His child form, middle aged adult, and old man. The longer Danny stayed in the citadel though, he learned that wasn’t the case.
He’d seen Clockwork go from an old man, to a man about twenty. He’d slowly shift younger and younger through his teens until he stopped in his child form. Danny had seen the opposite too. Clockwork as a young preteen growing into an adult in the span of a breath. Dark circles would appear under his eyes and laugh lines etched into his face of a much older man but Danny wouldn’t have called that form elderly.
It was fascinating.
“What can i do for you, Majesty?” Clockwork asked, a hint of a smile already curing his lips. He likely already had the conversation they were about to have memorized.
Danny groaned. “Can’t you just call me Danny? Majesty is so… so…”
“Accurate?”
“Bleh…” Danny muttered, slowly floating until he was upside, but his book turned with him so he could continue to look at it.
Clockwork only laughed at him, that soft noise that said he was amused at Danny’s plight, but Danny was far from offended by it.
“You’re the master of time, right, but were you the god of time too?” He pointed at his textbook, crown on top of his head doing slow flips. “Chronos?”
“Ah,” Clockwork chuckled, arms crossing over his chest. His de-aging had abruptly stopped and he instead started growing older again. “Indeed. We are the same.”
“Really?” Danny perked up and went back to skimming his book while rotating in the air. The edges of his wispy hair were looking like smoke. “So you were an ancient Greek god? That’s cool.”
“Yes and no.” Clockwork said with a shrug. “Time is a funny thing. I was there, of course but more in the capacity of their stories. I predate the Greeks.”
“Huh,” Danny hummed, growing quiet again as he read a little more but Clockwork didn’t return to his parade viewing. He instead waited for Danny to continue. “So wait, you were one of the first… titans.” he read. “Cool.”
“Yes.” Clockwork agreed, “That was a very long time ago now.”
Danny quirked a brow at a line in the book and glanced back at Clockwork. “‘Destructive and all-devouring’, huh?”
“I was young.” Clockwork agreed, not bothering to deny it. “We all have that phase.”
“Uh huh… How did this rule of yours coincide with Pariah Dark?”
Clockwork grew older still, his beard starting to grow. He also relaxed into a floating/sitting position. “They didn’t really. Much of what you are reading is a mortal human interpretation. If you think stories in your high school become exaggerated, you should hear the true origin stories of the ancients sometime.”
Danny was snickering. “I’d actually like that but none of them like talking about stuff like that. Did you really eat your kids?”
“Something to that effect. I’m afraid i was not a very good father. I was at a very different place in my life then.” Clockwork said. He didn’t sound particularly proud of it, but he didn’t look broken- hearted either.
Danny didn’t quite get it. Clockwork had basically been his ghost guardian long before he’d even known that was a thing. He probably would have just assumed Clockwork would make a good dad. Then again, being a ‘present’ dad was probably tough for the god of ‘time’.
“Hm,” Danny hummed and flipped the page while floating right side up again. He rubbed at his face, the constellation freckles across his cheeks twinkling. “Wait. Wait, wait, wait.” Danny muttered, clearly reading through a paragraph.
Clockwork’s shoulders were shaking with quiet laughter. It wasn’t usually this easy to coax Danny into doing his homework.
“You died. Zeus kills you. Did Zeus kill you? Your son?”
“Yes.”
There was a moment where Danny’s face warped into something like grief before it disappeared, suspicion forming in it’s place. “Did you know that was gonna happen? Did you let Zeus kill you to maintain a good time line? Did you know you’d just be the ghost master of time?”
Clockwork just smiled and shrugged.
“Ancients!” Danny cursed. “Are you serious? You were looking that far ahead already? Even then? That’s insane.”
“I have not confirmed or denied anything. On the other hand, we all have our talents.” Clockwork mused. “Does this knowledge entertain you?”
“I mean, it’s cool.” Danny muttered again. Clockwork wasn’t usually so chatty but he was more likely to tell him past things opposed to future things.
He went back to reading and Clockwork went back to his viewing clocks. It was only a few minutes before Danny spoke again.
“The Elysian Islands. Are those in the Infinity Realm?” Danny asked, “They sound familiar.”
“Yes.” Clockwork mused. “And before you ask, Zeus didn’t actually have anything to do with them and Pandora would get huffy at the mere mention of it.”
“Are other gods in the infinite Realm?”
“Some, but not many of the ones in your book there.” Clockwork said, twirling the staff in his hand. Danny could tell he was doing something along the time stream but Danny had no idea what and he didn’t ask. He was not looking to get sent on another timeline errand. “There are other places where they reside. Some even living. Those in the realm however, are your subjects.”
“Oh.” Danny muttered, getting the same sour look he got when he was reminded he was king.
Clockwork lowered his staff, done with his chore. He hovered closer to Danny now, ruffling his hair and dislodging his crown which spun around of its own accord on top of Danny’s head. The sentient accessory very much attached to its new wearer. “If there are any in the Infinite Realm who find you lacking, you need not pay them any mind. Pandora, Fright Knight, or Frostbite would be more than happy to deal with them. You have every right to be here.”
Danny just grunted. Peer pressure was hard enough at school. It was worse in the Infinite Realm. “I’m not looking for fights.”
“You do not need to prove yourself. You’ve done that enough. You must merely be you to succeed. You are balance, and balance in life will find you soon enough.”
“Awe, you haven’t said anything cryptic to me all day. I was starting to get worried.” Danny muttered, a smile tugging.
“I would never make you go without.” Clockwork said with a fond roll of his eyes. He was so old now that his beard nearly touched the floor.
“Ancients forbid.” Danny muttered, snagging his book out of the air. “Wait, did you say there were some living? Wait.” His mind whirled to a previous school assignment. “Isn’t Wonder Woman’s dad supposed to be Zeus. Is Wonder Woman your granddaughter?”
Clockwork just smiled and ruffled his hair again. “Don’t you have homework to finish?”
“Oh Ancients! She is. Classic deflecting. Holy crap.”
He let himself drop onto the sofa, over dramatic with his realization. “You have ties to the Justice League!”
Clockwork did sigh that time. “A charming notion, i suppose.”
“You’ve as good as admitted it!” Danny grinned, pleased to have learned something new. Had it been anyone else, he might have thought he learned something Clockwork didn’t want him to know. Clockwork knew everything though and only let slip what he wanted to.
“You are a hero yourself, Danny. No need to be enamored with the League.” Clockwork turned to go back to work, eyes scanning screens before him.
“Yeah but they’re real heroes.” Danny grumbled, opening his book again. Clockwork’s lack of response meant he wasn’t going to answer that line of thinking. “Fine…”
The two of them were left in a comfortable silence for a few minutes more until Danny broke it himself. Even though Clockwork knew it was coming, he still jumped when Danny gasped harshly from excitement.
“Saturn! You’re Saturn! Saturn is like, one of my top three favorite planets!” It was the pure joy on Danny’s face that had Clockwork laughing this time.
“You would have a top three.”
“Of course i do!”
The door had been flung open for him to now talk about space and precisely why he had so many favorite planets specifically. Clockwork let him, happy to let one of his obsessions take its course. Talks about space banished all thoughts of the Justice League and ‘real heroes’.
Danny knew he’d have to take his history books with a grain of salt. Eaten children or no...Clockwork had always been a good guardian to him. ~~ I might add on to this...  It’s almost like Danny was reading the same wiki page on Chronos that i was... lol

Danny is so, oh so very tired about the amount of marriage proposals that popped up in front of him. Not even a day past his announcement as Crown prince either.
He's thankful that neither of his four parents are pushing him towards accepting it, but it's everyone (besides his friends of course) else who either try and subtly suggest it or outright asks him if he's chosen a spouse yet.
He's only 14! He doesn't need a spouse! And they were probably far older than him too!
Even Vlad of all people took some kind of pity on him and just decided to be a normal (for a billionaire) guy who isn't trying to kill his dad.
...However, that doesn't mean he wants him to seduce him either!
(Danny: Stop trying to seduce my dad you low-budget vampire!
Vlad, calmly sipping tea: No.)
If he wasn't majorly burnt out from the number of proposals he has to sort through, he would most definitely throw him far across town, away from his dad and mom.
He needed to find a way to stop all of these letters that just keep coming, and fast. He doesn't know how much longer he could take of reading fancy script over and over and over again, his eyes already hurt enough.
He tried to ask his Father for help, his only response was to choose a consort that he saw fit to stand alongside him. Then he had to flee before he gushed about his pops.
He asked his pops, who only said that the answer would come to him in time. Which was of no help whatsoever.
He asked his mom, she at least tried to help somewhat. Giving him some equipment to ward off any ghost who would try and forcibly take him as a consort, which had a low chance of happening considering his strength, but he was happy about it regardless.
He then finally asked his dad, after making sure that vampiric leech isn't near any of his human parents. Surprisingly, he had a pretty good idea of what to do.
He was a halfa, wasn't he? Why limit himself to just ghosts? Surely, due to his half-human status he could choose someone near his age among humanity.
Well, not in those exact words, but it was a great idea regardless! Plus, they never did specify if he had to choose a ghost consort anyways.
Now he just had to decide who to pick, really. His two best friends are out of the option, they're close, but not in that sort of way. Plus, Sam is busy with Undergrowth and Tucker bonding with Technus who was apparently apart of his family tree somewhere along the line.
Then, when he was sorting through the letters and was sure his eyes were about to bleed from reading so many fancy words, he felt it. A tug in his chest, gently urging him somewhere, and you know what, it's way better than what he was doing now, so he answered.
He felt the clothes he was swearing in that moment fade into away into the outfit he wore for his coronation. A suit, a crown made of the coldest ice from the Far Frozen, a cape made from the stars along with various little knickknacks made from various gems and a veil hung over his face.
He looked pretty good, if he says so himself. Though he didn't and still doesn't know the purpose of the veil.
He appeared in what looked like an event for a high society party, most likely filled with various rich people. He floated up and quickly looked over the people and released a sigh of relief that Vlad wasn't here, say what you will, but he doesn't fancy meeting with someone who's actively trying to seduce his dad.
He folded his arms behind his back, trying to imitate the imposing figure of his father from his place in the air, looking down at the cultists(?) below who summoned him.
"Who dares summon me." He stated, rule number one, statements hold power, questions do not. The cultist below fell to his knees, either out of devotion or fear, he didn't know.
"Oh, Prince of the infinite, we called you today for the sole purpose of serving this world to one of your standing, please let us be your servants and spare us when you plunge the world into ruin!" Ah, devotion, then. His eyes bore into the woman (from the sound of her voice) below, his silence working well to unnerve her and the other guests.
"Hm." The reward was already stated, but he neither wants too nor will take over the world. "Denied." It was short, swift, and to the point in his books, he thinks he's doing well acting out Pariah Dark!
"B-but my liege, the king-"
"What the king has been known for in the past, has nothing to do with me. You dare to assume something about me, lowly human." The human below him was actually fully blown shivering, now, slamming her head down onto the floor and shouting out a number of apologies.
Rule number two, do not take back requests you have already denied.
Ok, now he feels bad, that probably hurt a lot. But he's already come this far so-
"Is that the only reason you have called me, or do you require something else. Much of my time is not something you can afford." The woman was most undoubtedly about to say something, probably more apologies, or maybe something else, but the sounds of fighting reached the room and the doors slammed opened, the body of a cultist(?) flying through the air and the appearance of what were most likely heroes.
"Well?" He let that question slide, the cold around the room descending around the woman below as a bunch of other cultists tried to fight off the heroes.
The woman seemed hysterical with worry, most likely not wanting to go to jail, perhaps. She quickly took her head off the floor and tried to stand up, almost falling back to the ground but managing to find her footing. "M-my liege, please help us!"
He tilted his head. "And as to what, would you give me?"
"The sacrifice, yes! The sacrifice!" The woman quickly pointed below him, and only then, did Danny realize there was a boy bound below him, only to be met with a glare.
Danny hummed. Yes. That will do. "It shall be done."
Danny waved his hand, ice sprouting from the ground to force the heroes and cultists apart and then blasting a hole through the nearby wall and to the outside, a path of ice leading down to the ground. "Go." He commanded, the woman nodding her head quickly and calling to the others and disappearing outside, he then blocked off the hole with ice.
He then slowly floated downwards, besides the bound human, ignoring the shattering of ice and footfalls of no doubt the heroes trying to stop him from what he was doing. He leaned over the boy- about his age- and asked one question.
"Do you wish to become my consort?"

The bakery is a front!...Right? Part 5
Danny opens his eyes to the sight of a potent magical barrier glowing around him. It would have held off many of his subjects but did nothing against his court, much less the king.
Then, he noticed he was in some sort of cave, strapped down to a fluffy bed. There isn't much he can see besides the various machines hooked up throughout the place, various cars, two planes, what appeared to be a training ground, and a.... dinosaur?
Where the hell am I? He thinks, trying to recall what happened to lead him here. But all he can clearly remember is fighting with Phantom over going to the park. Everything after that was a blur.
He tries to move, frowning at the very little give of his restraints. One around each of his four limbs, three large belts over his knees, stomach, and upper chest.
After a few minutes of struggling as a human, he slumps in place.
His blue eyes fly over the runes that shine along the barrier's side, noting three magical signatures. This was a group effort. Strange. Who would put Danny here?
Phantom remains silent but watchful from their shared eyes as Danny scans his surroundings again to ensure no one is around before shifting. As soon as his ghost forms, the barrier flairs, indicating an alarm has been tripped.
Danny sighs tiredly, allowing his body to pass through the restraints. Phantom reaches out to push his hand through the barrier, wiggling his fingers on the other side. Just as they thought, it's not going to keep Danny inside.
Feels like water. Phantom says, and Danny agrees. Whoever put him in here either overestimated their strength or underestimated Danny. He hopes it's not another death cult. Those always left him feeling sick after dealing with them.
It's then Danny realizes another fact. Phantom does not feel like his body trying to split in half; Phantom feels like himself again, another part of who makes up Danny.
Like the inner voice when you read in your head, just as his ghost half had always been since he was fourteen. Danny had been in this creepy cave for over a week because his mating season had finally ended.
That also meant that Danny was missing a full week of memories.
He is going to have some words with whoever is responsible. Danny rechecks the barrier, realizing it's still flaring, and decides to wait for them to approach him. He can pretend he's trapped inside, hopefully creating a false sense of security and getting answers from his kidnappers.
He crosses his legs under him just as a portal rips open a few feet away from his barrier and out rushes a blond man in a trench coat. Behind the man is a woman in a magician outfit and a teenage girl in a purple cape. Danny scans each person, noting the barrier's magical signature matches them all, and knows they are responsible.
Trench coat falls to one knee, bowing his head in respect. "Your majesty."
The other two follow suit after he speaks, repeating his greeting. It seems Trench Coat is the leader. The ghost king leans back on his hands, frost slowly spreading over the blankets under his palms.
It crawls to the edges, slowly falling down the legs of the bed and around the floor. Danny stops it right at the lines of the barrier, knowing the blond man is watching it. The blond man's shoulder relaxes when the frost fails to go over the drawn lines.
So they did underestimate Danny. Well, it made things easier, at least.
"Where am I?" Knowing Phantom's voice echoes and unsettles the three kneeing magic users, he asks. Sam had once told him it sounded like the cracking of ice glaciers from within the giant ice caves after his friend returned from a trip to the artic with her parents.
Danny wasn't exactly sure what that sounded like, but he had always thought it made him more intimidating, especially when he kept his voice a regal calm. Tucker said the calm made it extra creepy, and he wanted to watch these three sweat right now.
"The Batcave, your Highness." Trench Coat responds. Danny's jaw drops.
"The what cave!?" He gasps, springing up from the bed to spin around and look at his surrounding better. He knows he just shattered the illusion but come on! It's the Batcave! This place was a legend among his customers! "Batcave as in Batman!?"
"Indeed." A new voice calls and Danny's head snaps toward a man hiding within a shadow. He's good for a human, but although the shadows open their arms to him, they are not part of him, and Danny can trace every inch of him as easily as though a spotlight had been shined on him.
"Batman" He whispers in awe. The Dark Knight steps out into the line of sight of the other three, ignoring Trench Coat when the blond man starts to hiss at him to kneel. "I got kidnapped by Batman. That's so metal."
Batman, to his credit, doesn't even flinch at the accusation. "You were deemed a danger to the public."
Danny snorts. "Been there. Done that. Got a cookie on the way back."
The mask man's eyes narrow. "Are you aware of the damage you have caused? The lives you have potentially ruined since arriving in my city?"
"Dude, I have no idea what you're talking about. All I did was open a bakery." Danny glances down at the magic users before waving a hand. "You three can stand now, by the way."
The three stand as Batman steps up against the barrier. He looms over Danny in a poor attempt at intimation. Even with having to tilt his head back to keep eye contact and the glowing yellow stip of magic, Danny finds himself on equal footing with the human.
"Batman, bugger off. Now." Trench Coat hisses, yanking the other back a few steps. "We do not need a war with one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse."
"A being that tried to steal my sons." The other man growls, and Danny blinks.
"First of all, I didn't even know you had kids. Second, I have never met them in my life, much less steal-"
"Red Robin will not be going with you, no matter what you say!" Batman interrupts. "If I have to keep you here until the contract is neutralized, I will."
"This is not helping B." The woman dressed like a magician says. She was beyond nervous, a slight tremble ranking her frame. "We're supposed to be negotiating the terms of the engagement."
"The engagement?" Danny mouths, confused.
"We have his sister, Jassmin Fenton. That's a good enough starting point-" The girl in the cape starts, and Danny snaps to attention at his sister's name. Her neck is in his hand, cutting off her words with a chock gasp. He sneers in her face even as the other three scream at the speed he crosses the barrier.
"Where. Is. Jazz."
"Raven!" The other woman screams. "Prat eht gnik ni a egac!"
Her magic washes over him but freezes as Danny's power overtakes it. The spell lands on the ground as a sparkling clump of ice.
The girl claws at his hands, trying to pry him off even when a bear tazer slams into his side, sending electricity throughout his body. If he had been fourteen that would have been enough to have scared him enough into letting go.
He's not a little kid anymore, though. He backhands Batman away from him, catching the tazer he drops as he is flung and throwing it at Trench Coat.
It slams against the man, knocking him on his ass. "I didn't even do anything!"
Danny raises the girl, wondering if he should squeeze more- it's not choking her. He just wanted to scare her.- when Ellie came flying from the direction of a large stone stairway. It seems the Batcave was underneath something. "Danny, stop! Let her go!"
"They kidnapped Jazz!" He yells, eyes blazing in an angry green. Raven's eyes widened at the color. She chants a spell, but her magic is frozen like Zatanna's was before it could even form. She looks stricken.
Not surprising since magic is supposed to be one thing to never fail against the paranormal. Too bad for her Danny is the king and thus far more powerful than the average ghost.
"No, they didn't! She literally upstairs flirting with Jason!"
Danny lets Raven go to swing his head in Ellie's direction. "Who the fuck is Jason!?"
"A really buff book nerd."
"Of course he is."
"Yeah, he's also Peter Draper." Ellie continues with a What can you do shrug.
"Oh, word?" Danny tries to imagine Jazz and Peter, but his employee is so short-tempered that he finds it odd his sister would ever look his way twice. Then again, Peter was only short-tempered because he was trying to keep Alvin safe from Phantom's charm, so....maybe that's what got her attention?
"Your Highness," Trench Coat clears his throat. "We really need to discuss the engagement."
"What engagement?"
Ellie flies over to drape herself across his shoulders like a floating scarf. "The one between you and Timothy Drake."
"The Wayne CEO?" Danny never met the guy; how was he engaged to him?
"Yeah, but you know him as Alvin Draper or Red Robin." Ellie shrugs at his Godsmack expression. "The Bats thought you were selling drugs, using kids as carriers, and using the bakery as a front to cover up your crimes."
"Drugs? Child endangerment!? Why would they think I would do something so terrible?! My bakery is a lovely place!"
"Cause you're kind of shady, Danny. Fruitloop shady."
"I'm disowning you." Danny turns his attention back to the four - heroes? If they were with Batman, they had to be right?- and frown. "I love Gotham. I was just trying to sell pastries and help my community."
"Yeah, but you're still shady." Ellie laughs, ignoring the disownment like every other time Danny threatened her. "They sent in spies to figure you out."
"Spies? In my bakery?" Danny repeats, horrified. He snaps his fingers at his sister, narrowing his eyes. "You can never tell Andres he was right."
She bares her teeth in response, and he knows his store manager will be unbearable come Monday. Danny covers his face wanting to scream, until Batman steps to growl at him. "Tim isn't going anywhere with you."
Danny squints at him. "You're making it sound like I'm taking him by force."
"You are." And another voice jumps in, but this one is familiar. Danny twists around to see Alvin-er Tim calmly walk down the large stairway wearing only white pants. Along the sides of the pants are runes that make Danny's stomach drop.
They're the marking of a human sacrifice in the ghost zone.
"I won't resist." Tim continues stopping before a horrified Danny and clasping his hands tightly. Tim's gaze rests on his feet, every inch of him portraying submission. A group of people quickly come down the stairs, each trying to talk over the other, but Danny can't take his eyes off the human, giving himself up.
Phantom's core weeps. When a human is made into a sacrifice, there is nothing other ghosts can do to intervene. It's one of the Rules within the zone, like Truce Day. There was nothing he could do to save his employee.
"Who?" He whispers his ghostly glow highlighting the youth in Tim's face. Only nineteen. "Who do you belong to?"
Tim's hands twitch, but it's the only sign of discomfort as he lowers his gaze even more. "To you, your highness."
"Wha-"
"Oh, for goodness sake!" Jazz yells, walking over to whack him on the head. Ellie moves so her hand can reach his skull and punches the back of his head. Several people gasp, scandalized, but she does seem to care as she starts nagging. "Daniel Fenton! You let this boy out of his human sacrifice engagement with you right now!"
"His what with what?!" Danny screams back, only to have Sam walk around a blond woman and stomp on his foot. "Ow!"
"This a dick move, Danny! Tucker, come over here and tell him!"
His best friend appears only to punch him in the gut. "It's mess up, man! Tim didn't even know he was walking into a fae circle when he went to your apartment!"
"Stop hitting me! I don't even know what the hell is going on!" He yells, rubbing his bruised stomach.
Jazz crosses her arms and taps her foot. "Five. Four."
"Why are you counting?"
" Three. Two"
"Jazz, seriously, stop it."
"One. Zer-"
"I, High King Phantom, release Timothy Drake with no conditions!" He screams, cowering away. The runes on Tim's pants snap like broken chains. "Just please don't say zero!"
"That's what I thought." She says, nodding her head and then laughing. "I can't believe that still works on you. I'm sorry we didn't explain, but I wanted to get Tim out of danger as soon as possible. Tim was the first to find you when the Bats raided your house a week ago, looking for non-existing drugs. Phantom took over in a mate craze and tried to keep him along with Damian- er Robin- prisoners. "
"We all had to join forces to free them, but you were too powerful. You ripped a portal into the ghost zone and took them." Sam takes over giving Danny a stink eye. She always does hate when Danny slips away to the zone to avoid them. "Tim struck a deal with Phantom agreeing to be his human sacrifice/ husband in exchange for his brother's freedom while the rest of us tried to get to the zone."
Danny doesn't know what to say but feels his mouth moving. It's Phantom who answers. "Again, from the bottom of my heart. My bad. Really. I just wanted a baby."
Ellie chirps, "Baby fever is a medical condition Phantom. Don't sweat it."
"Maybe sweat it a little." A man shouts from beside the frozen Tim. The teenager is staring at Danny with a kind of worship looking upon a saint. And a lover. Danny blushes slightly. "You stole my baby brothers."
"Richard. I can not have this conversation again with you." Phantom rolls his eyes and fades back into Fenton as he powers down. "All I did to Tim was try to cover him in blankets, feed him and make him sleep. My human side wasn't even aware of things."
"Still not cool, Phantom. I thought Danny was going to retake him after this visit," Richard responds, pressing Tim into his side. "Even if it was just due to your mating season, don't repeat it."
Danny takes over with a raised brow. "Don't go into my lair during my mating season, then. Who had you snooping?"
"We did what we had to." Batman is notably less hostile now that the contract between Tim and Danny is broken. Danny considers his words and then nods. He gets that. He would have done the same if he thought some creep was luring the street kids into something dangerous.
"Danny," Tim says, approaching the halfa "Will you go on a date with me?"
"Drake! No!" A child screams from the crowd, but Danny can only see those gorgeous blue eyes, and something deep within him uncoils. Phantom settles in Danny's soul with a content sigh. It's found its mate, after all.
"Yes, I'll go on a date with you." Danny pauses. "You won't work at the bakery anymore, right? I can't date my employees. That's a power imbalance."
Tim laughs leaning in to press his lips against Danny's. The other human's outraged cries fade away as Danny melts against him. "How could I ever think I could resist you. You're too perfect. "
"Wait- what?" Danny blinks, but Tim shushes him with another kiss. Both ignore how the Bats leap in to pull them apart, or Team Phantom rushes to protect Danny and fight them off.
John Constante watches the two groups with a frown "So...no war?"
"I don't think so?" Zatanna responds, confused, while Raven watches impassively.
Danny was right. Come Monday, Andres is unbearable, but Tim comes over for lunch and a quick make-out session, so it's worth it. Manolo returns later that day to invite Danny to his school band performance. His mother is now on her way to recovery, finally allowing him to learn the flute.
All is well in Phantom Bakes.

Hollowing Bones - Snippet 2
"He killed you!" Danny screamed. Ice climbed up his fists and arms and chest- frosting in delicate curls around his neck like his own cold was choking him.
"I know."
"He-"
Jason wrapped Danny up in his arms, pulling him close despite the chill that bit at bare skin. "I know."
Danny sank into the hold, tremors wracking through his too fragile seeming frame. Jason just pulled him tighter. He clung to Danny just as much as he tried to push down his own terror from the lingering nightmare. Tried not to feed into the dangerous feedback loop of fear that sang across their fledgling bond.
Someone guided them towards the family room, past the family members guarding sentinel in the hallway and bedroom doors. Bruce, Jason thought, but it was Dick who helped them settle on the couch and stayed close enough for Jason to touch. He knew that the rest of his family would be near too. Damian and Cass would be watching guarding the windows and doors. Duke would be bouncing, nervously between the den and the kitchen where Alfred would be putting Tim and Steph to work preparing warm tea and comforting food.
Jason closed his eyes to the large hand running through his hair and took a shuttering breath.
His family was here, he didn’t have to worry. So he let himself drift, just for a little, knowing that they would keep him— keep them both— anchored to come back to. By the time he did, everyone was settled, scattered throughout the room. Cups of tea were clutched tight in desperate fingers, trying and failing to sooth worried eyes.
His own fingers were trailing through Danny’s hair where the other had his head resting against Jason’s chest. He scratched light where the hair met the nape of Danny’s neck and got a rumbled hum in response.
Softly, calmly (too calmly), Jason asked, "How did you die?"
The room froze in the way that only a room full of Bats could. They had known Danny was tied to death. Constantine had called him a Death Mage and a psychopomp and a Speaker. They hadn’t thought about the implications of what that must have meant.
Now they couldn’t think of anything else.

I'll Make You Believe
While the whole "asking a ghost how they died is the worst taboo ever, so don't do it or you'll be in a world of hurt" headcanon is always fun to implement to either create temporary conflict or simply move the story along, I think it'd work just as well on both ends if it was only a minor offense.
Like if you were to ask a once living ecto being how they died the most negative response you'd get would either be some variation of "None of your business puny mortal" or an explanation using the most vividly graphic, stomach turning details as an act of petty revenge as well as insurance you never ask again.
So what could possibly be a way more serious, far more dangerous no-no when it comes to ghosts instead? Well, how about stating ghosts don't exist/there's no such things as ghosts? The reason why being you're invalidating the trauma they've experienced in their last moments.
Makes no difference whether you were aware of this or not. If they find out or worse, it's said to their face? You better hope they'll settle for beating you black-and-blue. Because the alternative is becoming a ghost yourself by the time they're done with you.
Now in dpxyj fics when Danny interacts with Wally and the whole "ghost are/aren't real" argument between them comes into play it's usually depicted as a trivial disagreement. But what if you were to make it more angsty by inserting this take on lack of ghostly etiquette?
Let's say after getting to know his teammates better Danny starts talking about his origins (in vague detail) and exploits, only to eventually be interrupted by Kid Flash declaring that he can't possibly be a ghost as they don't exist. And Robin, Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Superboy all become quite alarmed watching Danny go from easygoing to looking ready to beat Kid Flash to a pulp, as he's now fighting back his ghostly nature. To avoid giving in to the urge he abruptly leaves with a dismissive attitude, much to KF's confusion.
From there it spirals. KF, not realizing he's poking a hornets nest continuing to voice his skepticism whenever the opportunity comes up and each time Danny barely manages to keep it together. Until one day Danny in an explosive rage snatches up KF and in a tone colder than ice tells him he knows what he is, what he went through to reach that state, and that he has no need to justify any of it to him.
Then he leaves once more before he really loses it. Before going after him Miss Martian informs KF of how Danny opened his mind to her and that for his sake she hopes he never shares those memories of what he went through with him. Feeling bad now, KF tries to apologize once Danny returns. Which results in failure again and again since Danny keeps giving him the cold shoulder.
After having yet another apology disregarded KF, in mounting frustration blurts out that he wishes he understood what has Danny so convinced he's a ghost, unaware a certain wish twisting genie he was warned about had been invisibly lurking in the vicinity the instant Danny was elsewhere. Along with the rest of the regulars, as soon as KF's denials had spread to the Ghost Zone Desiree was on the warpath, intent on showing just how real ghosts truly were. By sheer spite and determination she beat everyone else to him, just in time to hear him say the forbidden word, presenting her with the perfect means of retribution.
With a "So you have wished it so shall it be" KF is magically transported to an underwater submarine, occupied by Black Manta. Unable to run as freely without potentially damaging the sub and causing it to flood, the fight upon his unexpected arrival is drawn out to the point KF starts to feel his hyper metabolism weakening him. It's when he's close to dying of starvation that one of the more incompetent goons sends him crashing into the stash of ectoplasm Manta had smuggled with the intent of using it to pollute the waters of Aquaman's Kingdom. The last thing KF sees before blacking out is Desiree looming over him with a smirk of satisfaction.

I’ll Always Answer Your Call
Unexpected part 2 to Do What I Cannot
---------
Jason took Danny down to one of the smaller sitting rooms as Batman had suggested, he didn’t know what would be done with the bodies of Danny’s parents but he didn’t care. They had deserved to die for everything they had done to Danny, let alone the other ghost that had no doubt been victims of their insane obsessions. He wondered if they would become ghosts, if they did would that be good for Danny? He knew that Danny was the ghost king even if they both wanted to keep that bit of information from the other heroes for now. That would make his parents his subject, he would have every right to punish them however he saw fit, would he like that or would it be even harder on him? Maybe Jason could pass word on to Ellie about what had happened and she could pass it on to Fright Knight and Walker and they could deal with the Fentons instead, shielding Danny from all that nastiness.
That was a future problem though, it took ghosts a while to form in the ghost zone and they wouldn’t get out for a while after that, they could wait and still deal with it before it became an actual problem. For now the only thing he wanted to focus on was Danny, still curled up in his arms and sniffling slightly. He knew Danny was different now then he had been when he had lived, must be. Jason doubted when Danny was alive he’d had skin the colour of a lake covered in thick ice, a slightly elongated face, pointed ears and odd, uncanny, elfin proportions.
There was no mistaking him for a human anymore but he was so beautiful in his own way, it was one of the first things that had struck Jason about Danny, the odd unearthly beauty of him. Jason had thought he looked like the moon come to earth and given vaguely human form. He had been more right then he had known then, after seeing Danny’s even less humanoid forms, all taking after space in some way.
Jason sat down in one of the bigger arm chairs so Danny could comfortably sit sideways across his lap, Danny promptly curled up there, leaning against Jason’s chest while Jason rubbed his back, trying to sooth him while he cried. “They can’t hurt you anymore,” Jason murmured softly. “I won’t say it’s okay, because nothing about what they did is okay, but they can’t hurt you anymore, and I’m here.”
“I know you are,” Danny whispered against his shoulder softly. “You’re so good to me Jason, you have no idea how much I appreciate you. For always answering my call, I-I’m sorry I took control, I really didn’t mean to, I was just so emotional,” he murmured and Jason shook his head. He was wearing his domino mask under his helmet so he quickly took the helmet off and set it aside so he could lean his forehead against Danny’s.
“It’s alright,” He promised, “It let me know how badly you needed me. I would have come anyway, but I knew how fast I needed to go.”
“I’m guessing you still won’t let me break the band then?” Danny asked, chuckling weakly and Jason gave a crooked smile, taking one of Danny’s hands and pressing it against his chest.
“No, of course not. I was so lost before I heard your call, being with you like this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m happy to serve you as my king,” He murmured and kissed Danny softly, feeling the spirit sigh against his lips, cool arms wrapping around his shoulders.
“I’ll take responsibility for their deaths,” Danny whispered when they broke the kiss, a haunted look passing through his green eyes. “It was my will that caused it really, even if you would have done it anyway, I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
“Fuck that!” Jason barked more loudly, lowering his voice when Danny flinched, it was an automatic response not true fear but Jason didn’t want to add to Danny’s distress in anyway. “I did it, I’ve killed people before for less and I’ll probably do it again. You’re not a killer Danny, and I probably could have stopped myself if I had really wanted to. You don’t deserve to have this put on you, you already told Batman I was responding to your emotions but that’s as much blame as you’re going to get. If B lectures me about this then so fucking be it! I stand by what I did.”
Danny gave him a rueful smile and nuzzled back in against his chest, Jason just held him for a while, quietly. “I don’t think B will actually disapprove that much actually. I mean he’s really firm in his no killing rule shit, but I think even he’ll be able to see that with the way those two acted they weren’t safe to leave alive and after what they did to you… I think any lecture will be performative more then anything. He’ll understand,” Jason mused as he combed his hair through Danny’s messy white hair, now laying almost flat since the emotional upheaval had passed.
“They were a threat to everyone around them,” Danny murmured in agreement. “We’ll have to talk to the JL about taking possession of all of their research and stuff quickly, the last thing we want is for it to fall into the wrong hands. I’m just… Jason I feel really betrayed,” he admitted, soft as a breath, Jason felt his heart drop like a stone. “Why were they here? Why did the Justice League want to talk to them at all?!” He asked, his voice getting a bit louder as emotions built again. “This tower is a safe space and they brought in two fucking mad scientists that would have tried to shoot me on sight whether or not they knew about those two being my parents. I don’t understand!”
Oh no he was crying again, Jason hugged him close and tried to make soothing sounds, his half formed core letting out a stuttering purr and broken little coos to try and sooth his lover.
“We didn’t want you to be our only line of defense between us and potential ghostly threats,” Jason looked up and glared, but not as hard as he would of if it hadn’t been Diana coming in. She was always one of the better one with people, with knowing what to say and when not to push. Jason probably would have drawn a gun if it had been batman.
Danny looked up and gave Diana a watery glare, which she returned with a sad smile coming to sit in the armchair across from them, a respectful distance away. “We didn’t believe a word they said, we simply wanted access to their research and technology so we might have a bit of a head start learning about this new threat.”
“Then why didn’t you ask me?!” Danny flared, anger puffing him up again for a minute. “You had a ghost right there and instead you went to do mad scientist ghost hunters with a history of fucking war crimes?”
“We didn’t realize how bad they truly were,” Diana said regretfully. “And we didn’t want you to be the only thing standing between us and potential disaster. We wanted to take some of this weight off of your shoulders, without realizing how much worse it would make things. I understand if you won’t feel safe here for a while, but please know that we did this with the best of intentions, we didn’t mean to hurt you, and we’re so very sorry for how this turned out.”
“It’s alright,” Danny said, slumping in Jason’s arms again. He was always to forgiving, at least in the opinions of Red Hood. “You should seize as much of their research and equipment as you can and quickly. As much as I don’t really want anyone to have them better you then the GIW or Vlad, just.. Please be careful. My parents were geniuses, but they were also fools. A lot of their inventions are very dangerous to ghosts and humans alike, fueled by unstable energy sources that can be catastrophic.
“It was one of their inventions that killed me to begin with, and they didn’t even notice for almost 2 years. They were fools, blinded by their own desires. They should have never had children.” Danny said, sounding tired and resigned.
Jason’s fingers twitched against Danny’s leg and back, and Diana looked sad. “You and your sister are unquestionable goods to the world, you have risen above your circumstances and we are glad to have you, but that doesn’t mean what was done to you was right, or ‘worth it’,” Diana agreed with a sigh. “I’ll pass on the message about seizing their research. Is there anything you need? Anything at all?”
“No, just Jason,” Danny assured causing a little flare of pride inside Jason. He was glad to be someone Danny could rely on like this, someone trusted.
“Alright,” Diana agreed and stood from her chair. “Batman would like to talk to you two later, when you’re ready,” she added after a moment of hesitation.
Jason growled unconsciously and Danny glanced up at him, pressing his hand more firmly against Jason’s hand and giving him a gentle smile. “Of course, but not today. We’ll talk about it tomorrow. I need to get out of here, Jason? Take me home please?” He asked softly, giving Jason puppydog eyes he never could resist.
“Of course Starlight,” Jason murmured, stealing a quick kiss before he adjusted his grip on Danny and stood up, cradling Danny against him and heading straight down towards the Zeta-tubes so they could head back earth-side and try to forget about this whole mess.

DP x DC
not me thinking about imaginary scenarios of ten year old Tim Drake in the ghost zone (pariah’s castle)
where Tim thinks it’s strangely soothing that despite being the only one whose steps connect to the ground, there’s not that eerie silence that befell drake manor
strange blob creatures chitter softly and nip at his hair and swooshes and wisps of wind betray the presence of an invisible ghost
which after following he realizes it’s almost like he’s trailing after the black dark shadow that is batman again
which gives him the idea that, maybe, just this one time, he can play the part of robin
that in mind Tim makes out a game of sneaking to the side of ghosts that look like they’re brooding and if they can spot him he loses
most just grunt in response (very in character) while others fuss over him and ask questions which Tim uses to infodump
he also politely asks the ghost that always asks him how he’s doing to instead say the word “report”
(the ghost looks at him weirdly but humors him and besides the answer would be the same anyways)
Tim also(!!)
gets on the case of why the walls lack tangibility when he is the one leaning on them (he doesn’t live down the time he wanted to look cool only to fall through the wall)
hyperfixates on how gravity works in the ghost zone because he couldn’t do a skateboard trick he has pulled off many many times and he’s salty about it
tries to figure out where they are getting human food from (cause it’s hot enough to be homemade but also there’s no kitchen —so how could it be) (also he wants coffee)
finds out the dude that often gives him a side eye when he finds that Tim knows how to do something (math homework), is next in line for the throne and yet doesn’t have a single “mingle and talk people up” bone in his body. (despite it his networking is a solid 7/10)
gets a ghost horse to adopt him what
discovers pretty quickly that there are rooms to which he can’t phase through (a.k.a. he’s not allowed entry) to which he begrudgingly backs off even though that stands in his way of doing a very thorough layout™ of the place (robin would)
sulks over the lack of extreme sports in the place
(Danny takes him to the Far Frozen where they go tire sliding in the snow and where tim learns how to use a skateboard skate and also that ghost ice cream is just as good as normal ice cream)
sulks again cuz he caught a common cold
also because there’s no sun or moon poor Timmy’s already screwed sleep schedule gets more messed up to the point no one knows when or where he will fall asleep
(ghosts find him in the most unhinged of places with a signature purple cloak draped over him every. single. time.)
overall, be a menace
see-> the time he threatened to build ghost weapons he’d somehow memorized the blueprints of cause Danny wouldn’t let him visit the radium girls factory but yes the renaissance period
see-> that time he went through the whole ghost energy and how to work with it book section in the library and half an hour later had a prototype of a star wars laser beam made
(note: bribing only works for hot chocolate, not for letting him keep cool-looking guns)
just tim having the time of his life
clockwork being no help at all (the ghost loves being a cryptid)
and danny trying not to get attached while he progressively gets more concerned over this chaos child he emotionally adopted as his little brother
(to fit canon cause i want it to this would just be until Danny finds the dimension little Timmy is from, then they can safely yeet the child back to the moment he first went missing)
anyways before anyone knows it’s been three months

Ghost!Robin Arc 2 Part 3
Ghost!Robin once again won this week's WIP Wednesday poll. This week's poll is up as well if you want a say in what I work on this week (though the poll is slightly different this week).
Story Summary: Everything changed the evening Jason met Jazz's brother. Danny introduced him and his entire family to the ghost that is, apparently, haunting him. The ghost of the Robin he had been.
The ghost of the person everyone he's ever known wishes he still was.
All he wants is to make it go away.
First, Previous
Word Count: 1.6k
-----
“All right!” said Danny, clapping his hands. “I got us close to the Far Frozen, but it’s rude to show up in another ghost’s haunt. So we’ve a little bit of a flight ahead of us.”
“How long is a ‘little bit?’” asked Jason. He refused to look behind him at the lack of a portal. He’d come here for a reason and he trusted Jazz. That had to be enough.
“Oh, maybe fifteen minutes? Twenty?”
Jason closed his eyes and tilted his head back. At least Bruce would be pissed if he knew where Jason was at this exact moment. “Lead the way,” is all he ended up saying.
In the distance, Jason could see islands floating in the air. Between them were stand alone doors with no walls.
“What are those islands?” he asked Jazz.
“They’re haunts,” she said. “Homes for individual ghosts. Islands tend to be reserved for ghosts who want visitors—either to fight or play—and doors for the ones who want to be left alone.”
“Danny referred to the Far Frozen as a haunt. Is that the same thing?”
“Yes,” said Jazz. “But the Far Frozen is home to hundreds of ghosts led by Frostbite. Those islands you can see will only be home to one, maybe two ghosts. The Far Frozen is much bigger.”
Jason wasn’t sure what he thought about that. In front of them, Danny and the interloper had pulled ahead a ways. He could tell Danny was talking, but they were too far away for him to make out the words.
“It’ll be okay, Jason,” said Jazz after a few moments of silence.
“Things were finally starting to go right with my family,” he admitted quietly.
“They won’t give up on you.” Jazz slipped an arm around his waist. “They care about you.”
Jason snorted. “They care about who I used to be and put up with who I am now. It’s not the same.”
“They care about both who you were and who you are. I’ve seen how Dick acts around you. You could go full super villain and he’d join you in the descent.”
“He just feels guilty for not being there when I died, the idiot.”
Jazz huffed a laugh. “You know, I don’t know why I’m surprised you died. It really is just my luck.”
Jason didn’t answer. It was strange that the one person he’d been interested in dating seriously since his return had ties to death and the afterlife. He shivered, what did that say about him? That he couldn’t just fall for a normal woman?
Jazz noticed. “I think we’re getting close. Temperature’s dropping. Can you feel it?”
“I suppose it is.” His getup, far too warm for the Jersey spring they’d left, wasn’t leaving him sweltering anymore.
Sure enough, just a few minutes later, Danny was turning and waving them closer. “Look!” he said, once they were close enough to hear. “You can see the Far Frozen!”
Ahead, partially obscured by a green fog, a great wall—or was that a cliff?—of ice rose up from nothing ahead of them. They still had some distance to go to reach it, but they’d arrive before long.
“I’m just going to announce our presence,” said Danny. “It’s only polite.”
Jason wasn’t sure what Danny did, but for a moment, it felt like he was being pushed in on from all sides. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t move. Then, as soon as it had started, it was gone.
“Frostbite will send someone to meet us, I’m sure.”
Jason just grunted and Jazz nudged him again. “Be nice,” she whispered.
The ghost stuck his tongue out at Jason. It took all of his fraying self control to limit his response to just an eye roll.
Danny led them towards the top of the ice and, just as predicted, by the time they were nearly there, a contingent of actual yeti’s came forward to greet them. Five of them, each at least twice Jason’s size, flew down from the island. Each carried what looked to be weapons. Jason tensed, hands immediately reaching for his own.
“Great one!” boomed the largest and first of the party. “It has been too long since you’ve come for a visit. I hope you are not injured?”
Danny laughed and rushed forward to give the yeti a hug. Jason could barely see Jazz’s brother through the being’s fur and arms. Any response Danny gave was muffled by the creature’s fur.
He must’ve said something, though, because the yeti was letting him go and peering at Jason and Jazz and the ghost. Jason tensed under the look. Was that an angry glare? He didn’t know the first thing about the body language of yetis.
“You must be the one who is courting Princess Jazz. Greetings. I am Frostbite, ruler of this section of the Realms. Welcome to my haunt. King Phantom has expressed his concerns for you health and I will, of course, be pleased to offer any assistance myself or my people can.”
Jason just blinked back, then turned to his girlfriend. “Princess Jazz?” his voice sounded strangled even to his own ears. “Any other secrets you’ve been keeping from me?”
Jazz rolled her eyes and poked him in the side. “Not important.” To the yeti, she said, “Thanks, Frostbite. Any help you can give will be beyond helpful. I didn’t even know that Jason had died until last night, let alone that he was being haunted by his own ghost. We’ve been calling his ghost Robin and his living self Jason to make it easier on everyone.”
“Well, then, young Robin and noble Jason, come. Follow me and I will see what I can learn of your condition. I must admit I have not heard of a case like yours before. But, before the Great One first came to us, we had never had the chance to examine a living ghost in any capacity before.”
Jason grunted. “I though Danny said you were the expert in the field.”
Frostbite nodded. “I am. However, that is simply because everyone else knows nothing. That I know something is all it takes to be called the expert in this situation.”
Jason’s stomach sank. This was going to be completely useless, wasn’t it? Why did Danny have to raise his hopes like that! “So you don’t think you’ll be able to do anything?”
Frostbite bared his teeth—a threat or a smile? “I never said that. I’m sure there’s plenty I can learn from an examination. I just won’t make any predictions until I’ve got some results. To do so would be conjecture and the height of incompetence. Now, come, all of you. When the Great One announced his presence, I had some of my people prepare an examination room.”
Danny groaned. “Oh, come on, I’m not that bad!”
The yeti ruffled his hair with a paw as big as Danny’s entire torso. “Your majesty, you have never once made a surprise visit unless you were injured. I am glad that, at least this time, you are not the one hurt. However, you have still come seeking medical advice.”
“Danny!” scolded Jazz. “What have I told you a million times?”
Danny looked at her with confusion. “To get more sleep?”
“No! Well, yes, actually. But not what I was talking about!” Jazz left Jason’s side to smack Danny on the back of his head. “You don’t just visit friends when you need things from them. It’s important to spend down time with your friends, too.”
Frostbite laughed. “Fear not, Princess Jasmine. I am not upset with his majesty. He has only just taken up his crown and has many responsibilities. I am merely relieved he still turns to me when in trouble. Now come, follow me to the examination room.”
Danny talked animatedly with Frostbite as they made their way through a village. Jason and Jazz followed a few steps behind.
Jason couldn’t help but stare. Every building was made of ice. Rather than sharp edges and plain facades, they bent in graceful curves and had been decorated with ice and snow sculptures. Sculptures here were as common as gargoyles and grotesques in Gotham. As they wound through the streets, residents left the buildings to greet Frostbite and Danny. It felt more like they were part of a parade than just passing through.
And above it all loomed a giant castle. No other word could describe it. Delicate turrets pierced into the sky and stairs wound around the outside of the walls while banners added some much-needed color to the structure.
By this point, Jason wasn’t even surprised when they were led to the castle. The inside was just as ornate as the outside and Jason stared in wonder at the statues that decorated the hallways and the patterns pressed into the walls. It was like something from a fairy tale.
So much so that when they finally made it to the examination room, it was rather a disappointment. It looked just like a regular doctor’s office, though the machinery was different.
“Thank you for accompanying us, Your Majesty, Princess Jasmine. However, I must ask for the both of you to leave as I examine my patients.”
“Of course, Frostbite,” said Danny. “We’ll wait outside.” He waved to Jason and made another of those trilling sounds that was repeated by the interloper.
Jazz squeezed his hand. “I love you. Everything will be fine, you’ll see. I’m just outside if you need me.”
Jason pulled her in for a hug and whispered in her ear, “Love you, too.”
Then he was alone with the yeti and the interloper. He refused to look at the ghost of his past and instead addressed the doctor. “So what now?”

Hope you enjoy!
Jason would be doing so much worse without Jazz right now.

“Don’t touch me. You shouldn’t touch me.”(Daniel c:)
We Know The Devil
"And you shouldn't be in a place WHERE YOU DON'T BELONG." Danny retorts easily, his smile now displaying the edge that was normally hidden away during their sessions. He always knew this girl would be difficult but this? This was different.
Tumblr media
"It really is a shame, you know? If you'd only listened to me everything would be fine but now LOOK AT YOU." He gestures with an open palm at the girl's pale face with the tips of his fingers elevating slightly to indicate her skittering, watery eyes. She'd ruined them. She'd ruined those quiet little peepers of hers....! "But maybe, just maybe, we can get things between us back on track, what do you say Miss Alice...?" He could divest her of the fear that was currently ruining her features---he could return that peace to her---in a nice, quiet place. And once that was done; once she was back to a state that he could actually look at and appreciate....
Tumblr media
"Let's try this again, okay? We won't even have to LEAVE THIS ROOM to do it either."

“Do you trust me?” Danny asked you. He was sat on the edge of the bed, turned to you, tracing his fingers along the blankets while you sat against the pillows of your shared bed.
The sound of his voice immediately grasped your attention, and you flicked your head to him. “Of course, I do,” you smiled, reaching out for this hand and squeezing it, “why do you ask?”
A smile curled on his lips - one of deviance. He had something planned but had yet to share with you exactly what the particular thought was.
“I wanted to try something new tonight, but I want it to be a surprise.” He leaned in to peck your lips, and you brought your legs from your chest to lay extended onto the mattress. “Are you okay with that?”
You quirked an eyebrow at him. There was no doubt about where your trust with Danny was. He had never misguided you, nor made you sense betrayal in his words and actions.
“Yeah, I’m okay with that.” You brought your hand to his face, cupping his cheek and encapsulating his lips into yours.
He hummed into your lips delightfully as he followed the slow motion of your mouth colliding with his. He brought himself closer to you, placing one hand next to your hip and the other on your cheek. He held you against his mouth, tasting at your lips and tongue as he kissed you.
“You’re going to have to keep your eyes closed.” He said into your lips with a small smile beginning to contort, faltering the motions of his mouth, but falling back into them after his sentence.
You hummed in response. You were too focused on kissing him to properly respond, with the drive of hunger it began to pick up curating quickly.
His tongue glided along your bottom lip, then entered into your mouth and danced with your own. The taste of his minty toothpaste soothed your tastebuds, and you welcomed the familiar flavor by running your hand into the back of his hair and gripping onto it to keep him locked on your lips.
But the surprise of the kiss breaking suddenly had a light whimper trapped behind your lips, struggling to keep your eyes shut as you wanted to view his face in front of yours. You knew his eyes were burning on your body, on your face, and examining you as you sat propped up by your palm flat on the bed.
His touch on your waist drew out a light gasp from you, and you felt his fingers slide under your tank top, slowly bringing it up and over your body. You lifted your arms up, with your eyes still shut, and the loss of clothing seemed to be useless to your increasing body temperature. You began to slip off your pajama shorts in preparation for him, and a light chuckle sounded through his nose. You smiled at the familiar sound, and continued your motions until you were stripped down in your panties alone.
"Keep those on for me, okay?" He tapped at your hip with his finger, and you hummed in response, although the sound was closer to a whine. "I want you to lay down and get comfortable for me, babe." He said into your ear, placing a kiss upon the shell of it.
The unexpected voice at your ear, along with the warm breath that followed out of his nose and hit the side of your face elicited a shiver to roll down your spine. You were stripped of one of your senses, and you didn't realize how desperately you needed your sight until this moment. It was as if you were stepping into foreign territory, and using your hearing as the strongest sense, with your touch close behind.
You obeyed his demand and laid flat on your back, with your hands placed on the lower half of your stomach and situating your head into the pillow that rested behind you. You felt the bed become lighter and listened to Danny's footsteps grow quieter as he left the room.
You lightly shifted amongst the sheets of the bed, running your fingers along the blankets under you to remind you of your surroundings. Your heart rate was only slightly faster than before with sheer anticipation and excitement of the new domain you had entered with your lack of sight. You could consider yourself to have a minute nervousness racking through your body, it was overcome with longing for Danny's presence again. To feel his fingers running up and down your body simply for your pleasure, and comfort you with his touch alone.
Danny had never stripped you of your sight, and you were surprised he didn't just simply blindfold you. But he trusted in you that you'd obey his promise and keep your eyes shut for him.
You heard him enter the room, and a smile curled upon your lips as you placed your hands back onto your stomach and heard something chime as it was set on the table beside yours and Danny's shared bed. He huffed lightly, and your hand crawled off the mattress in search of him. You were met with his hand intertwining with yours, and it raising up to his lips to allow him to press a light, lingering peck onto the back of it.
He set your hand back down and dragged the side of his fingers alongst your cheek, then to your jaw and brought your face towards his direction, sighing pleasantly at the view of your submission.
"So pretty," he groaned, "all for me." You could hear a hilt in his voice, signifying a smile, and that only made you crave his touch more. "If you're ever uncomfortable, just tell me, and I'll stop, okay?"
You turned your head into the palm of his hand and pressed a kiss upon it. "Okay."
His hand fell from your face, and you turned your head back up to the ceiling as you awaited his next move. You listened to the dinging of the material next to you, and you immediately assumed it was something set in a glass. That was your only inference, and as much as you wanted to be surprised, you desperately wanted to know exactly what object he had grabbed.
The bed shifted as he crawled on top of you, with one hand braced on your right side and his body nearly pressed against your own. He relaxed onto his forearm for better support, as his free hand encapsulated the object you had yet to be introduced to. You could feel the tight proximity of his figure above you, and you reached out your hands to run them up his sides and find his face. You desperately wanted to open your eyes, to see his perfectly sculpted face before you.
He captured your lips for a moment, long enough to draw away from you slowly in a teasing manner. His lips traveled to your cheek, then to your neck, and began to suck softly at the skin. You groaned delightfully at his tender motion and felt his teeth bare and nibble right above your collarbone.
His mouth faltered as he left your skin, and he shifted lightly above you. Your hands traveled to the roots of his hair, lightly massaging it and used your hands to be fully aware of where he was moving.
A cool, wet object trailed down your neck. You gasped at the sudden change of temperature, and noticed whatever what it was, was placed in his mouth.
"Danny," you sighed, feeling the object trail to your collarbone and run in the cave of your breasts, "do you, do you have an ice cube in your mouth?"
"Clever girl," he mumbled around the cube, "it is."
You were thankful to have quickly guessed what it was, but kept your eyes closed to allow the travel of the cool object continuously surprise you.
He circled it around your nipple, and your mouth dropped open with an airy moan. The cube battled at your heated skin, nipping at you in a satisfying way. You noticed that it had begun to melt onto his tongue, and eventually dissolve to leave his mouth wet with the brisk substance. Every place the ice cube touched left its mark, leaving any body part it caressed wet.
His tongue swirled around your areola, and his hand ran to your unoccupied breast and toyed at your nipple. You relieved your wanting cunt by pressing your thighs pressing together and rubbing them, and he had noticed the motion quickly.
"A bit impatient tonight." He chuckled, leaving your hardened bud and seemingly reaching for another ice cube as his body laid gently on your own.
"Feels good." You giggled lightly.
"I figured it would." He said to you, dragging the ice cube down your stomach and leaving a trail of liquid to signify his tentative path.
"What made you think of this, anyways?" You said breathlessly. His answer wasn't drawn from him yet, and you felt the ice cube rest inside of your belly button.
"Well," he began, placing his hands on your thighs and spreading your legs slowly, "I saw a clip online from a movie, and I figured we could try it out. Although, candle wax was also used, ice cubes seemed like a better start." He said to you.
You nodded with a hum. "I'd be okay with trying that."
He chuckled lightly. "Good to know, but we'll stick with ice cubes for the night. Not uncomfortable, right?"
You scratched at his head with a smile, keeping your eyes shut and your head tilted up towards the ceiling. "Not even a little bit."
He pressed a kiss on your clothed cunt, and you sighed with relief at the needed friction.
The ice cube that rested in your belly button had begun to melt, and water started to trail around your stomach and drip to the sides. Although you'd consider this specific part a bit uncomfortable, you didn't mind it a bit, and in fact found it soothing against your fiery skin.
He moved once more to grab another ice cube, and you propped your legs up for him as he crawled through them and fell back down between your thighs. He trailed the cube that rested in his mouth down your covered slit, and your hips involuntarily thrusted into the motion with an airy moan. This foreign feeling was alleviating to your aching cunt, and droplets of water began to drip from the cube onto the lace. If you weren't wet before, you definitely were now.
His fingers ran under the hem of your panties, tugging them down agonizingly slow and removing his mouth from your cunt. They fell to your ankles, and Danny aided you by throwing them fully off your body and assumingly to the floor of yours and his's bedroom.
The cube ran down the inside of your thigh, and your mouth was hung agape at the sensation. Breathless moans fell from your lips, and you began to tug at his hair as you felt the ice grow nearer to your heat. But, instead of immediately appeasing your needs, he traveled to your other thigh, and trailed the cube down again until it just barely reached your cunt.
His coarse finger ran up your slit slowly, and you gasped loudly at the needed contact. You began to whine with the loss of his fingers and pierced your bottom lip with your front teeth. Your eyes were squeezed shut, eyebrows furrowed and a guttural whine beginning to draw from your throat.
"Danny," you dared to beg, "please touch me."
He was always precise with foreplay, to turn you on until you were a whining mess and begging for him with tears pricking at your waterline. But, tonight, he figured picking up the pace on tonight after depriving you of his touch was enough and chose to give in at your first request.
He lightly placed the ice cube that had melted into a smaller form, tenderly sharpened at the front, on your clit and circled it slowly. You moaned, allowing your eyes to flutter as you rolled them into the back of your head from the foreign sensation. Never had his mouth been this cold as he was in between your legs, but you loved the new feeling.
The cube wasn't too bitter against you, although at first it stung at your clit. But as he sucked it down to a smaller shape and tore away the nipping temperature that would usually stick harshly to whatever was placed upon it, it felt gratifying against you. Not too cold upon your skin, and in fact, the contrast had your head spinning.
He dragged the ice cube down your slit, stopping at your entrance and teasing the hole by circling around it. You moaned at the light impact, tugging and pulling at the roots of his hair for him to continue.
"Fuck," you whined, "feels so fucking good."
"Yeah?" He said to you. It wasn't a question that needed confirmation, but you still gave him a pitiful hum of approval.
He dragged the nearly melted ice cube upwards and fell back onto your clit and circled at a steady pace. Your moans became more frequent, starting quiet, but grew as you felt his tongue begin to reach your clit while the cube melted against it. His mouth was dripping with the ice, and you felt a droplet fall down your cunt and trail to your entrance.
You rolled your hips into his motions, feeling only his tongue and no longer the cool object. The melted cube at your belly button dripped up your stomach, and the water played at your skin and coated your stomach completely.
He was ravenous against your clit, licking and swirling his tongue to drive you to your ultimate release. He dipped his fingers into the liquid at your belly button, scooping it up and allowing it to settle on the pads of his fingertips as he sunk them into your entrance. His other hand pressed down harshly on the top of your thigh to keep you in place. You gasped loudly as he curled them inside of you, and you could just barely feel the difference in temperature. His mouth stayed cool, but his fingers eventually matched your warmth.
He flattened his tongue and quickly lapped up the sweet taste of you that was an addictive drug to him, finding your clit and sucking hungrily as his tongue worked marvelously against you. His fingers pumped in and out of you quickly, while his mouth matched his speed.
The inner coil in your stomach tightened, begging to be unraveled. His mouth was slowly becoming warmer, but still wet with spit and the remaining liquid from the ice cube. You began to crave the cold temperature against you, and you thanked your lucky stars his tongue was still cool enough.
You wanted to resist your orgasm, to have Danny work at you forever, but holding it back for longer became tougher by the second. You were writhing against him, letting his name and other incoherent begs and praises fall from your open mouth. He knew how close you were and began to pierce the sweet spot inside of you with each reentry of his fingers.
You warned him of your release quickly approaching, and that had him humming against you pleasurably and begging for your orgasm to coat his fingers with his speed. And you tugged at his roots roughly, feeling your orgasm overtake you as your thighs muffled his ears, and a load moan escaping your mouth and echoing off the walls. Your entire body shook, white flashing behind your eyes and your back arching off the bed as he rode your orgasm out for you with a slower pace of his tongue.
His fingers stilled inside of you, and heretracted them from you slowly. You groaned at the loss but dared to finally open your eyes and look down to him.
Danny's hair was a bit astray from its original placement. You removed your hands from the roots, and you noticed how his eyes were blown out with lust. He had a delightful grin plastered on his plump lips, with his chin glistening with the mixture of your release and the cube that melted into water. You missed looking at him in between your legs, so the sight of him below you had your face flushing pink, and your smile softening.
Your chest heaved as you relaxed your body, and he stood up and sat on the edge of the bed next to you. His hands ran alongst your bare breasts, then to your face and cradled your cheek.
"I didn't expect that when you told me to close my eyes." You said softly to him.
He looked at you with slight confusion and huffed a laugh. "What did you expect?"
"I don't know," you giggled, "but I surprisingly really liked that."
"I'm glad." He said and tucked your hair behind your ear while wearing a genuine smile on his face.
You looked over at the nightstand, noticing that a few ice cubes in the clear glass still rested in it at a perfect state, with condensation trickled around the cup. You looked back to him with a quirked brow, and a smile of intent.
"What's on your mind, babe?" He pressed.
"Think I could try it on you?" You shrugged.
He turned to the cup, and back to you. "I don't see why not." He said to you and captured your lips with a tender kiss.

Gotham's Black Rose
Dpxdc fanfic Sam is Bruce Wayne's daughter, adopted by the Manson family. Everlasting Trio, toddler Ellie. Pharoah Tucker, Witch Sam, Space Ancient Danny. And Cujo too.
Chapter 2: Comfort and Planning
The last thing Sam wanted right now was for cameras to be flashing in her face or for reporters to be shoving mics at her. Shoving past the crowd yelling questions she didn't want to think about right now, Sam made her way towards the street.
It didn't take long for Danny to show up, motorcycle roaring down the street. His ice blue eyes glared at the noisy crowd, and they hesitated long enough for Sam to escape.
She jumped on, wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his shoulder. They pulled away from the event without a single word to her parents - adopted parents apparently- which was for the best. Sam didn't even have words for them anymore.
-
Danny pulled into the Foley driveway with ease. Tucker sat on the patio, laptop open to live broadcast of the Manson's adoption reveal, and Ellie sat in a specially designed play pen with puppy Cujo.
"How's Sam?" Tuck asked, muting the video as Danny walked over.
"Oh you know." Danny said. "She's confused, disappointed, scared."
Turning around, Danny gently shook Sam onto Tucker's open arms.
"What a mess," Tucker sighed. "How do you just forget to mention that?"
"No idea man," Danny said.
The only one of them with a decent childhood was Tucker, and he's got horrible past-life memories of a Pharaoh's life in Egypt to process.
"I'm gonna curse them," Sam said. "They'll never be able to keep a secret ever again,"
"You know that's gonna have more consequences than you want to be responsible for," Tucker said.
"I know," Sam said. "...Pamela will always drop her pearls and Jeremy will never find the right cufflinks Pamela wants him to wear,"
"Petty," Danny said.
Sam nodded against Tucker's shoulder, before lifting her right hand, a twisting purple energy pooling in her palm. With a snap the magic vanished, off to fulfill its purpose on the unspecting Manson couple.
Ellie squealed in the pen, clapping her hands and chanting "magic! Magic!"
"So you've cursed them, what do you want to do now?" Danny asked, sitting on the grass.
Sam sat up, relocating to sitting on the stair and between Tucker's legs. Tucker ran his hands through Sam's hair, enjoying the company of his small family despite the heavy topic at hand.
"I want to know who my biological parents are," Sam said. "I want to know why I was put up for adoption and I want to move to Gotham as soon as possible."
"I can get us transferred to a Gotham high school for our senior year," Tucker said. "We're already accepted to Gotham University,"
"I can have me and Ellie packed by this weekend," Danny said.
"It's the last month of summer vacation so it's going to be a bit of a rushed transfer, I'll follow in my jeep, it's going to take me a minute to pack my office up,"
Sam let the boys plan their move, their voices a comforting background to her swirling emotions.
Ellie would know where she came from, no matter how complicated a story it was. Sam could see it, five years from now, they'd sit her down at the dinner table and explain an evil scientist tried to clone Danny, and instead Danny got an Ellie and she's been their daughter ever since.
Why was family so complicated?

Rain on my parade
I can’t find it but this is inspired by that post about how if you create a lot of cold air (like Danny with his ice power) you could potentially create a cold front which would cause rain! So thank you, this was inspired by that wonderful science-enthusiast.
It had been days. At first, Bruce hadn’t given it much thought, forecasts were wrong all the time. That a supposedly warm and sunny day had turned into a near-constant heavy shower wasn’t surprising, so Bruce had gone about his business. When the second day of rain had come around, the vigilante still hadn’t thought too much of it, but as the afternoon rolled around with no change, he got on the phone to make a few inquiries. By day three, he had called Dick in Bludhaven and on day four, the younger hero had actually answered. Considering how sparse communication was between them since Jason’s death, this was an indicator that something was very wrong.
Bruce had already sent out feelers into the underground, he’d contacted some of his less savoury acquaintances. He tried everyone, absolutely everyone, and yet. Nobody had heard anything about a new villain or a meta with meteorological abilities. By day five, Bruce knew he had to do something before everything went out of control. Non-stop heavy rain was not only unnatural for Gotham, it was dangerous. Already, hundreds of homes near the river bed had gotten flooded and people were being forced to find temporary refuge with relatives and hotels if they were lucky and could afford it. There had been no death reported yet, but the longer this went on, the higher the chance of it became. With more rain there would be more flooding that would encroach on the normally dry land and that meant more people being left homeless, not to mention what would happen if the river overflowed completely.
“Bruce, I’ve got something,” Dick’s voice came through the communicator.
“What is it?” The man asked.
“There was a sharp drop in temperature near Milford about six days ago,” the younger man said.
“Send me the coordinates,” Bruce answered as he started putting on the cowl.
They finally had a lead.
Danny was ecstatic. This was the best vacation he had ever had. He owed Jazz so many favours when he finally got back. Not only was she currently covering for him with the parents, she had driven him to the middle of nowhere with his camping gear when he’d asked. She’d said he needed time to relax and this week where he was technically supposed to be doing some kind of fictitious space program was her way of making sure he got it.
The out-of-the-way location was ideal for what Danny had wanted to do for a while, which was testing the limits of his powers. He had messed around with a few of his ability: intangibility, flight, strength, before starting on the newest and thus most exciting one: his ice powers. Since he’d gotten them he’d wanted to test his limits with it. At first he tried to see how much ice he could produce at once and how far he could shoot it. Then it was how long he could maintain the ice and how long it took for it to melt. Then, he decided to find out how cold he could go. This took more concentration and he fell into a state of sharp focus as he sent wave after wave of colder and colder ice away from him. Time started to become meaningless as his ghostly body didn’t need food or rest for a long while longer than normal humans.
By the time he “woke up” six days had passed and he felt as relaxed as he had ever been since he became Phantom. Danny let out a relaxed sigh as he sat down. Jazz would come by tomorrow as they had agreed on one week. That meant he had one last day to do whatever he wanted before he returned to Amity and his responsibilities. This was going to be fun!

Supernova - Prologue
Read on AO3
Summary: The Ghost Zone is tearing itself apart. The instability threatens the future of both Earth and the Infinite Realms. Danny isn't exactly thrilled that for some reason, the responsibility to restore balance falls on him. And he's definitely not thrilled at the prospect of having to use the Ring and the Crown to do so. (Ghost King AU)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Contrary to popular belief, the Infinite Realms do have a center. Not a physical center, to say, but a center nonetheless.
It is from this center that a shudder rippled across the Realms.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of all the ghosts to notice the shudder, Sydney Poindexter was the first.
“Wowza!” He shook out his head and his shoulders. “That meatloaf just goes right through ya, huh?”
He didn’t notice how the ectoplasmic construct of Casper High and its students flickered violently for the briefest of moments.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skulker grinned as the pegasus he had his sights set on inched closer to the trap he’d laid out. “That’s it, just a little more,” he said, not daring to speak above a whisper. He’d been hunting this particular pegasus for nearly three weeks now, and each time he’d gotten close, it’d slipped out of his grasp.
Today would be different.
The pegasus’ nose flared as it sniffed the fiery flowers he’d set up as a food bait. He tensed in anticipation. So close now, just a couple feet further…
The shudder tore through the Badlands.
Skulker, caught off-guard, stumbled backwards as it passed through him. The pegasus whinnied in fear and bolted away.
For a moment, he could only sit there in stunned silence, not even caring that he’d just lost his quarry again. “What in blazes…?”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A yeti barreled into Frostbite’s cave, gasping his name.
Frostbite was already standing. “Gruefang,” he said. “I take it you felt it as well?”
“Yes, Chief,” Gruefang nodded. “Even the young felt it, and you know their bodies are not as in tune with the environment.”
The look on Frostbite’s face was grave, completely unlike his ironically warm demeanor. “Then it may be worse than I feared.”
In three quick strides, he crossed the cavern and opened a chest to pull out two scrolls. One was small and blank; the other was much larger, much more weathered, and detailed on both sides with drawings of islands, doors, portals, and other landmarks.
“The Infi-Map?” Gruefang asked, peering over Frostbite’s shoulder. “What do you intend to do with it?”
“Summon Fleetfloe,” Frostbite instructed. He unrolled the blank scroll and began to write on it with a claw dipped in ink. “Tell her I need her to carry a message to the Acropolis of Asphodel for me.”
“Of course, Chief. What is the message?”
Frostbite hastily finished scrawling his written message on the scroll, then rolled it back up and fastened it shut with a seal of ice. “This should have the relevant details,” he said, handing both it and the Infi-Map to Gruefang. “She should seek out the Lady Pandora and tell her… tell her I must know if Kilaris grows unstable. If it is as I suspect, then we cannot delay action any longer.”
Gruefang’s beady eyes grew wide. “Kilaris?” he whispered, as though saying the name any louder would cause it to shatter. “Are you certain?”
“... unfortunately so.” If possible, a heavier weight seemed to fall over Frostbite’s shoulders. “Go quickly. There is no time to waste.
“And… pray that I am wrong,” he added quietly as Gruefang sprinted out of the cave.

Clockwork’s tower was not immune to the shudder, either. The hundreds of clocks spread across Long Now each stumbled over a few misplaced seconds as the shudder washed over them.
If Clockwork himself felt it pass through him, though, he did not show it. He simply kept his gaze fixed resolutely on the time window in front of him, showing Fleetfloe rapidly approaching the Acropolis. A sigh escaped him and echoed into the chorus of clocks that had resumed their ticking.
Everything was as it should be.

Vlad massaged his temple as he stormed into his City Hall office. The meeting with the head of the city council had been just as insufferable as he’d predicted - as these meetings always were.
Bureaucracy and its silly complexities. If he could, he’d choose to run Amity Park the same way he ran his businesses, with him as the ultimate decision maker. Things would just be so much simpler.
He collapsed into his desk chair with a dramatic flourish. Barely 10:30 in the morning and he was already nursing a migraine. Splendid.
Perhaps a pick-me-up was in order.
He rummaged in his desk - quite literally in his desk, he phased a hand into a hollowed out compartment he’d personally installed - and pulled out a silver flask. He popped off the cap and took a deep inhale of the green vapor that drifted out of the top. Yes, this blend of ectoplasmic supplements would work nicely to stimulate his ghost half’s healing.
He raised the flask in a sardonic toast to no one in particular. “Another day, yet another problem to solve,” he said in his driest voice.
He’d no sooner than put the flask to his lips when the shudder passed through him.
Acidic green liquid stained the rug as the flask fell from his grasp. The feeling that flooded Vlad took him back over twenty years, to before he’d even had his accident, when he and Jack had woken up with strong hangovers after crashing a party. His sudden nausea and the cloudiness in his head so strongly reminded him of that memory that he wondered briefly if he’d consumed too much wine at last night’s dinner party (an inane thought; his hybrid metabolism quite literally burned through alcohol).
The feeling only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing without a trace.
“Mayor Masters!” the secretary cried as she burst into the office. Vlad hurriedly nudged his overcoat off the back of his chair and kicked it into a heap over the stain of ectoplasm on the rug. “I heard a noise, are you alright?”
“Just fine, Marta,” he said through a thin smile. “I only dropped my phone.”
Her forehead crinkled. “I could’ve sworn I heard someone shouting in here.”
“Mm, no? It’s just me in here.”
“Huh.” Marta did not seem completely satisfied with this answer, but she turned to leave anyway. “Alright, well… just let me know before you head out to that lunch interview. I’ll need to give you those files.” She walked away shaking her head muttering to herself.
It wasn’t until the door clicked into place that Vlad relaxed, but only marginally. There was no telling what that feeling had truly been, and he did not like not knowing things.
Well, that wasn’t completely true. There was one thing he knew for certain.
Whatever it had been, it had most definitely been ghost related, and he suspected he knew exactly what had caused it. Still, there was one person he probably needed to talk to in order to confirm his suspicions.
He pulled his personal cell phone out of his pocket and thumbed through his contacts. It didn’t take long to find the one he was looking for.
“... Ah, Jack! I’m so glad you picked up, I wanted to ask you something…”

The epicenter of the shudder and the center of the Infinite Realms, as it turns out, was located within a crumbling castle with nothing around it as far as the eye could see.
Of course, the force of the shudder shook the castle. Not with any sort of violence, but just enough to knock a few pieces of stone rubble from the walls. One of those pieces of stone fell from the ceiling of the throne chamber.
It fell and struck a coffin leaning against the throne.
A crack emerged.

“You’re so full of it. The Cruiser Gravity Rifle is a million times better at beating Sollix than the Titanium Crossbow.”
Sam scoffed at Tucker’s claim. “Please. How long have you been playing DOOMED again? The Cruiser Gravity Rifle is so not worth the recharge cycle it goes through. You can get way more consistent damage with the Titanium Crossbow.”
“What do you mean it’s not worth the recharge cycle?” Tucker protested. “At least you can get off more than one shot before you have to reload!”
“You also realize Sollix is, like, the lowest level troll boss in the whole game, right? You don’t even need a heavy-hitter to beat him. I bet there’s even a melee weapon that works well with him.”
“That’s what I did,” Danny chimed in. “The Blood-Forged Silver Shortsword worked pretty well for me.”
“That doesn’t count, ‘cause you phased back into the game to avoid having to deal with the crappy melee mechanics,” Tucker said. He flopped onto the grass unceremoniously. “Say what you want, but at least I’m not a cheater.”
“Hey!” Danny let go of Sam’s sneaker long enough to smack Tucker. “It’s not cheating if it’s a game mechanic.”
“Okay, but is it a game mechanic?” Sam grunted. She couldn’t stand doing crunches and pushups and such. Cardio was definitely more her speed.
Danny shrugged. “It’s not a bug and they haven’t patched it, so I’d call it a game mechanic.”
“Dude, you can’t exactly patch out ghosts overshadowing the game.”
A shrill whistle echoed across the field. “Alright! That’s time!” Coach Tetslaff hollered from her spot on the sideline. “Fill in your sheet and rotate partners.”
Sam rolled off of the mat and laid spread-eagle on the grass. Yeah, she’d be feeling that in the morning. Just like her to try and show off in gym class. “How many, D?”
“83. Showoff.” He set the worksheet down and climbed onto the mat. “C’mon, Tuck, you’re holding for me.”
Tucker groaned dramatically, but got up onto his knees anyway. “Just so you know,” he said, giving Danny a pointed look, “I’m only doing this ‘cause I’m hot and you’re a walking AC unit.”
“Also ‘cause your mom said she’d have your head if your gym grade doesn’t get any better. Not to mention Tetslaff will ream you if you don’t. She’s still mad at you for that stunt you tried to pull last week,” Sam added helpfully, cheeky grin and all.
Tucker’s glare turned to her. “How was I supposed to know she’d actually call the fake number and check?”
Danny folded his arms behind his head. “Probably ‘cause she was suspicious in the first place. I mean, the crutches were a little much for a sprained ankle.”
“Mom’s a nurse, she’s given crutches to plenty of -”
Another short whistle sounded. “Come on, hustle!” Tetslaff called. “You all ready? Then get goin’! Two minutes!”
With a grunt, Danny started doing his crunches. Sam watched with mild interest. Sure, last year’s Presidential Fitness Exam hadn’t gone the best for him, but he could pull through when need be. And there was no denying his ghost powers offered him a bit of an advantage, even if it didn’t totally show while in human form. He’d knocked the self-defense unit out of the park, after all.
“I was saying that Mom’s given crutches to people with sprained ankles before,” Tucker said.
“Yeah? And how many is that?” Sam figured she didn’t need to know the exact number to know the answer.
His face flushed red. “I don’t - well, you know… she can’t tell me ‘cause of hippo,” he said, finishing with a smug smile. The uncertainty behind his eyes was way too obvious, though.
Sam gave him a look of disbelief. “Are you for real? Your mom is a nurse and you don’t even know it’s called HIPAA?”
“... Hippo, HIPAA, to-may-to, to-mah-to. Besides, I -” he cut off abruptly and looked down with a frown. “Uh, Danny? You okay dude?”
Sam glanced over to see Danny had stopped his crunches and was now sitting up with his hands held tightly over his sternum. All the color had drained from his face, and there was a noticeable drop in the temperature.
Immediately, her internal alarms started blaring. She bolted upright. “Is it your ghost sense?” she asked, but she again suspected she knew the answer.
His mouth opened and closed a few times. “I don’t… I…” His brows furrowed, and he stared fixedly at Tucker’s chest, though his gaze was unfocused and glassy. “I… think something - something’s…”
Tucker reached for Danny’s water bottle. “Do you need your - oh, what the f-”
Green liquid funneled out of the top of the water bottle and slowly drifted aimlessly around Danny in little tendrils. Sam watched with wide eyes. Sure, she’d seen a lot of weird stuff since Danny had become half-ghost (a lot of weird stuff), but ectoplasm… It had never done this around him before.
Danny didn’t even seem to notice. He just continued to stare at the same spot, even as his eyes began to burn Phantom green.
Then, just as suddenly as it had escalated, the floating ectoplasm stopped and fell to the ground, splashing all over the mat and the grass.
Before Sam could react, Danny leaned over and promptly threw up.
