What really pisses me off when people are like. No child should be friends with an adult; it’s (insert word/phrase that has been misused so much it’s kinda ceased to have meaning to me anymore) is… My older friends? Even though I’m 28 and yknow. An Adult. Have literally saved my life. Like not only do they have more knowledge about how things work (like Medicaid and food stamps and student loans and resumes and and and all the other shit nobody bothers to teach you and can be hella confusing/nearly inaccessible unless you Know but is hella important/can really fuck up your life if you’re not careful) and like…more experience so when they tell you “it’s gonna be hard, but you can handle it” or “I know it looks scary, but it’s not that bad and I promise you’ll get through it” or “it doesn’t matter if don’t graduate college, look at me. I didn’t. I’ve got a stable, well paying job. It’s not impossible to be comfortable without a college degree. And look at (other friend who is sitting right next to them), they worked their ass off for a double degree and currently not using it! You’ll be okay, you’ll figure it out.” your brain can actually believe them cuz yknow. They’ve been where you are. They have that life experience. And they’re not gonna lie to you because they love you and respect you too much to do that.

Like I don’t want to make it sound like friendship is a commodity, but older friends and intergenerational friendships can be so extremely valuable, especially to vulnerable younger people in abusive households. And I don’t even mean like in that they can offer you a place to crash cuz not every friend is gonna be able to do that and that’s OKAY. But maybe they can still help you in other ways. Even if it’s “just” holding your hand and validating your fears while you cry your eyes out but reassuring you that they believe in your ability to work through it. They believe in *you*. (And yes, I REALLY appreciate the same sentiment from friends my age and it’s also extremely helpful and I love them so very much. But it just sorta hits in a different way coming from an older friend. Not in a way that’s better or worse. Just different.)

Also something something seeing that you have a future when you can’t see past the next year or six months is just. So fucking reassuring.

Also. Older friends are just plain fun. I love my older friends and my life would be so much poorer without them. So yknow. Fuck people that condemn intergenerational friendships.

#hey! a little update on my sis condition #the other tests came out and it seems she has something called dysautonomy #Dysautonomia is a nervous system disorder that disrupts autonomic body processes. These are automatic functions like your blood pressure #and heart rate. Having dysautonomia means these functions don’t work properly #causing disruptive symptoms. #i copy that from google #she was recomended to increase her salt consumption to eat better and to do yoga #but apparently shes gonna keep having black outs #if theyre too consecutevely shes gonna have to get a more detailed neurologic study #so far shes had like 3 more episodes #siiighhhhhhhhh #anyways Im trying to help everytime Im home and not at work I cook for her and try to distract her from stressful episodes bc it seems to #have to do a lot with anxiety #she has this sudden rush and anxiety sometimes but you can calm her by talking to her #she needs to keep checking her heart rate so my mom got her an oxymeter #shes very responsible and for someone her age shes really managing this very well despite the anxiety attacks #i was dueling on posting or not an update here it really doesnt matter and doesnt make much difference but i felt like it was weird to #never address it again lol #so here we are #supposedly that sickness regulates itself as you're getting older so lets hope thats her case #personal

heeyyy its me delilah. im an autistic plural trans girl with ptsd, and im living in an abusive household with my adoptive "father" that absolutely hates me. in less than 4 months, i am going to be kicked out, and i am trying to raise the money i need to survive this event.

ive been trying, pretty much every chance i get, to get a job, but i think because of this shitty small town in texas, everyone already knows who i am and nobody wants to hire me. this means i have to rely on stuff like this.

by JUNE 1ST 2024, i need to make enough money to move out, or else... well, i dont really know what will happen to me (other than vague "homelessness"), but im really scared that it wont end well.

on top of that im rarely being fed enough which is seriously fucking with my mood and making me feel like shit, so im having to balance saving and eating which.. with the money im currently getting, is not very sustainable. other than a few people giving a lot (who i am eternally thankful for and if youre able to do this i would basically do anything for you) im basically getting zero donations.

i get that this kind of stuff is annoying and maybe a bit slow, but just taking a few seconds, maybe a minute or two at most, to give me a small amount of money, would be a hell of a lot more helpful than doing nothing.

i have a really big love for performing, i fell in love with theatre years ago and performed the addams family musical as fester about a month ago as my biggest role on stage yet, and right now im in the process of getting ready for antigone as teiresius. i love music, and its one of my life goals to learn as many instruments as possible, and currently i own quite a few, though my favorites are my two ukuleles and my super cool electric guitar. i have 8 partners at the moment, and i have a very big desire to one day live with as many of them as i can. i pride myself on being the best partner i can be, and its been my goal to make all my partner's lives better (and i think ive been doing a good job at it :3)

i love cats an extreme amount, ive never had a cat myself (because my dad is insane and hates cats and tries to hit cats with his truck) but being around cats makes me super happy and always makes my anxieties go away, even when im having an anxiety attack or a panic attack. i really hope i can get a few cats one day, and i want to give them all silly food names :) my fursona is kind of a reflection of that, her name is bagel. some cat names ive thought of are mochi, chili, Supreme Pizza, or maybe french fry :)

im not sure if ill be able to achieve any of my goals if i dont get the financial support i need. ive been.. really close to giving up recently, but i dont want to have to do that, so im going to fight like this for as long as i can.

so i found this pair of promotion images for good omens season 1 on the good omens reference library server and it’s hooked me so so bad im having feelings about it. we’re analyzing them now. not really for meta purposes just fun to see the parallels and differences :)

unique traits

aziraphale:

1) his plank background. its older, its crisp, it smells like wood from the screen. mmmm

2) the pencil shavings at the bottom. he does a lot of writing honestly, so i like this. also adds a messy and cozy vibe he always seems to have in that shop…. i like that blessed shop fr

3) his SUSHI. little soy sauce drops near it too—just the right amount of deliberate mess. our first formal introduction to aziraphale in the present day and beginning the Tomfoolery just happens to have sushi... i watch that scene and i go “yeah, that sums up aziraphale i suppose” very nicely. (they dont have sushi Up There) (im literally never gonna forget that)

4) the ray of light shining on the scene. tiny thing, but a bit of the heaven is peeking through..it also sort of blurs the whole image but i think thats just me.

5) and we’ve saved the best for last: the big whopper. the nice and accurate prophecies of agnes nutter, witch. I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!!!! i cant remember if that ring stain was there but if it isnt in the show on the actual book i’d assume thats to add that ‘thy cocoa doth grow cold’ thing. ALSO. you know what’s being used as a bookmark in the pages?? a check for the ritz. he bookmarked their one chance for living . with a ritz check . MMMMMM. my GOD. that means so much to me even if i cant convey it in words. he KEEPS THE CHECKS 😭😭😭😭😭😭

1) let me get my favorite out of the way. crowley’s glasses have fire in their reflection. we’ll talk about the glasses themselves later but the REFLECTION IN THEM. fucking FIRE, BOOKSHOP fire, PAIN, SRIVING THROUGH THE M-25, HELL, I DONT KNOWIM HAVING FEELINGS!!! i do believe this is a bookshop fire reference though, the flames feel too Familiar. the lengths people will go to to attack others 🤧

2) the leather seat background!!!!!!! probably meant to look similar to the bentley’s seats but i cant recall their texture, exactly. maybe just meant to convey modernness—unsure. still, its there <3

3) the tiny little crisp plant </3 its trying his damned best to stay perfect. it might a specific plant that means something, but i cant tell at thsi angle, so i’ll assume its a mini version of the ficus he keeps in the flat. its so SMALL and sitting in ANOTHER POT i CANT

4) the snake slithering!! black and red (in this image it looks orange lol) bellied scales!!!! slithering there, chilling, being crowley, showing hints. love it

5) QUEEN RECORD!!!!! TRYING TO OVERRIDE IT WITH TCHAIKOVSKY!!!!!! the tape over it does a reminisence to crowley’s handwriting, but in a clean ‘this made made to be a font’ way. not exactly just yet. ive become a fan of tchaikovsky recently. amazing darling wonderful crowley, trying to push the rock up the hill for eternity 😞

6) HIS LITTLE DEMON KEY THING. HOLDING A TINY LITTLE BENTLEY CAR KEY OHHH. thats how he doesnt lose the tiny key despite probably not needing one of those. and he CHOSE that intentionally probably. little wings and red circle….URGHHHHHHH

similarities

mmmmm now here’s the good shit. similarities! i’ll bullet point most of them but ohhhhh. ohhhh these. i’ll go from top to bottom as best i can….

1) one of their shoes, obviously. crowley has them iconic snakeskin shoes while aziraphale has his old loafers like the old loafer he is /pos

2) chateauneuf de pape wine bottle labels! (crowley’s is under his glasses, aziraphale’s is next to his shoe). oh my fucking god theyre MATCHING. the labels are old, battered, of course labeling the drink’s age, but mmmmm its these tiny details that get me going….

3) their respective drinks in their mugs—crowley’s a black mug coffee (or what looks to be coffee) and aziraphale’s angel mug tea (or what looks to be tea). i think about that mug sometimes. where did he get that from?? mystery for the ages….

4) their glasses, of course. crowley’s iconic sunglasses and aziraphale’s reading spectacles. i cant really tell the reflections in this pair, but if its supposed to be fucking fire, im done with this. im giving up forever

you felt your head pounding as you stare down at the gym mat. you’ve been training heavily all afternoon and you feel yourself getting closer and closer to your limit.

“yn, you good?” sero asks stepping closer to your hunched over form.

your eyebrows furrow and your ears ring. god your head is pounding.

“yeah.” you mutter weakly, breathing deeply through your nose.

“you’ve trained enough for today, go rest up for the test tomorrow.” he says sternly.

“no i’m good, one more round.” you say, standing to your full height in an attempt to mask your pain.

“you’re gonna fucking pass out. go upstairs.” he says, pushing you gently in the direction of the gym doors.

When Oscar met Y/n, the only thoughts in his mind were how funny she was, how everyone in the paddock loved her, and how beautiful she was. He wasn’t sure if he was experiencing a crush or a heart attack with the way his heart was beating out of his chest when he asked for her number.

Y/n gladly gave him her number, knowing she would probably be hanging out with him again soon. Lando had invited Oscar to stay with them during break, which was right after this race.

Of course Oscar was excited to hangout with Lando and Max, and he knew Carlos, Pierre, and Charles would probably come over at some point as well. But he usually kept to himself, something Y/n seemed to do, but not with her friends. She easily got along with the paddock, though. Joking with Oscar and Landos engineers, getting food with Oscar, Lando, Max, and being joined by Zak Brown.

Oscar didn’t expect Lando to barge into his drivers room after Qualifying though. He had just sat down and was drinking his water when Lando opened the door, where he could see Max and Y/n walk by, probably to the cafe.

“So…when are you going to ask her out?” Lando asked, after he had closed Oscars door and stood infront of him.

“Who?…” Oscar picked at his fingernails, even though he knew exactly who Lando was talking about. “Y/n, you muppet. When are you gonna ask her out?”

“I don’t think I will, Lando. She doesn’t even know me.” he brushed his hands through his hands, making eye contact with Lando.

“Maybe. But if you ask her out, then you guys can get to know each other. Come on, mate. She’s been single for two years now, all of her past boyfriends were dicks to her, and you’re a good bloak. Max and I approve.”

Oscars head snapped at Lando, “You guys approve, do you? Have you guys been talking about this?”

“A bit. Listen, get changed. Put a nice shirt on and meet us in the cafe. Max and Y/n are already ready. Us four are going to get dinner. Hurry up.” Lando said, leaving before Oscar could even reply.

Surprised, and a little excited, Oscar got changed and met you guys in the cafe. He saw you, sitting next to Max and Lando as Max called Pietra, and Lando scrolled through Instagram. You made eye contact with Oscar, getting up and waving him over as Lando noticed, smirking at Oscar.

“Hey, Oscar! You ready to go?” you bit your lip, just out of pure habit? making Oscar look and nod, “Yeah. Are we gonna meet there..?”

“Oh, about that, mate. Can you take Y/n and I’ll take Max? Just easier transportation that way.” Lando said, smirking again so Y/n couldn’t see, but Oscar could see perfectly.

Y/n smiled at Oscar, unaware of Landos planning. Y/n did find Oscar cute, maybe that wasn’t a good idea to tell Pietra. She swore she wouldn’t tell her boyfriend, but the thought of her best friend with a good guy and happy, she couldn’t resist telling her boyfriend when he asked, having his own suspicions when he caught Y/n watching Oscars race pov one sunday.

She wanted to get to know Oscar better, as he did her. “Yeah, that’s fine. You wanna just send me the address?” Oscar asked, pulling his phone out for when Lando sent it.

“Mate, we are just gonna go to our house. Y/n obviously knows the address. We’re gonna watch 22 Jump Street and order Chinese takeout.” Lando got up with Max and said their byes to Y/n. Max making kiss faces behind Y/n and Lando winking.

“Ready?” Y/n asked, grabbing her bag. “Yeah…” The two of them left the paddock together, occasionally getting stopped by fans for pictures, and Netflix to film Oscar leaving after Qualifying.

As they got to Oscars car, he opened the passenger door for her, closing it when she got in. He threw his bag in the backseat, and started the car up. “You wanna put your bag in the backseat?” Oscar asked, reversing out of his spot. “Hm? Oh, sure.” She placed it on the floor in the back and he played some music, light conversation about her school floating around.

“Wait, so you’re studying art history then?” Oscar asked her as he drove to her house.

“Mhm. It’s actually really interesting.” Y/n looked at Oscar, making quick eye contact as he nodded and looked back to the road.

“Do you like it? You seem more like you’re into the history aspect than the art.”

“How did you know that?” she questioned, raising an eyebrow. “I saw you earlier on your laptop looking at an article.” Oscar shrugged.

“I do enjoy the art aspect though! I don’t know what I’m going to do with my degree but, I enjoy it. Its better than accounting.” Y/n sighed as Oscar laughed a bit, “Not a math fan, I take it?”

“I’m horrible.” she deadpanned, making Oscar laugh more, her joining in. The rest of the ride was filled with general conversation. Not much needed to be said between them. When they got to the house, Lando and Max were unpacking the food, as Y/n had texted hers and Oscars order in the car. Glances between the two were common throughout dinner, back and forth, and flirting done by Oscar.

Annoyed by the lack of flirting by Y/n, Lando grabbed Max and dragged him out of the room, leaving the two introverts alone.

“They aren’t going to talk if we aren’t there, mate. Y/n is too shy.” Max said, cracking his neck as Lando glared at him. “They’ll talk. They have to. Did you see the way Y/n stared at him as he unwrapped chopsticks?? My god, she’s so touch deprived. I’m rooting for them.”

“Yeah, I know. Hopefully Oscar speaks up, cause Y/n could go days without talking.” Max spoke, looking at Lando as he had his ear against the bedroom door and heard talking, “Mate! Oscars talking to her- oh wait! I heard her too!”

“You’re being a little creepy….move over.” Lando scoffed at Maxs comment, scooting over to Max could listen as well.

Out in the living room, Oscar had turned the tv down so he could talk to Y/n. They ended up having a long conversation, during which he asked her on a date, which caused her mouth to open a bit, nod, and say yes. “I’d love to, Oscar.” Which caused him to smile at his spring roll.
