bad news! 🎙️ — park sunghoon
Tumblr media
— synopsis: mr. ling has been nagging sunghoon to join a club, something about meeting the needed credits to graduate—of course, he wasn’t close at all. since he didn’t have any club in mind, his teacher recommended that he’d join the broadcasting club, despite the low chance of being accepted. but sunghoon was accepted not long after he applied, surprisingly. the bad news is, he wasn’t expecting to see a certain someone. jeon y/n, decelis’ top grade student, and sunghoon’s next target.
— pairing: heartbreaker!sunghoon x gn!reader x second-lead!soobin (ft. enhypen, chaewon from le sserafim, jo yuri as yejun, vernon from svt, jaemin from nct, eric from tbz, chaehyun and bahiyyih from kep1er, and soobin from txt, mentions of minho from skz).
— warnings: swearing, random time stamps, a lot of friendly bullying, mentions of taking photos without consent, mentions of being psycho, soobin is very dense, yejun and minho are half siblings, more will be added!

RANDOM ASTRO ABSERVATIONS!!!
DISCLAIMER: These may or may not apply to you. These observations are from my personal experiences with these placements and energies. Nothing in astrology is the end all be all. The birth chart is simply the possibilities, but you determine the way in which the possibilities go. You are always in control!
Virgo Venus natives hate not feeling appreciated. There's a lot of thought and detail put into the actions they do for others, and it always tends to be something practical like something they notice you need that'll help with a project or something beneficial for daily usage. However, the minute you don't show you appreciate these acts, all that care goes right out the window. Moon in 8H synastry if undeveloped can be very toxic and manipulative. Some cases, the moon will feel the need to mother or take care of the house person. >If undeveloped<, the house person will see this as weakness and abuse the resources of the moon. In other words, you can make some ridiculous financial decisions all because you feel connected to them emotionally, especially if you're not used to Plutonic energy. This synastry could leave you broke or in debt if you haven't learned yourself truly. Libra, you are not seeking balance, you are not trying to find balance, balance isn't this unattainable thing, YOU ARE BALANCE. You're the scales! You were born balanced, now if you don't feel balanced, find out where you're having an imbalance and fix it. One thing about Capricorns, they gone get them some money$$$. Gemini risings with Scorpio moons can have very toxic mothers who probably suffers with mental health issues. They could have also made them clean the house more that needed as punishment. Scorpio risings with Libra Venus are such hopeless romantics and get so attached once in love, they are the definition of wanting to live in their partner's skin. If they break up, they'll continue to romanticize them and may even try to get back with them again. If you're looking for the traditional romance relationship where you're constantly reminded of their affection for you, constant thoughtful gifts, and kisses 25/8 do not go for an Aquarius Venus. It's like they purposefully go against anything too normalized and typical in love but love in a more intellectual language. Don't even bother trying to change them either, they'll just ignore you. (They are still very loving and loyal once committed). Lilith in the 7th house can make you very powerful in relationships and they are all aware of that power. Also, once a Lilith 7H native realizes they are being manipulated, played with, or cheated on the Lilith shadow comes out and you'll never get the same them again. Mercury in 12H synastry undeveloped will have you lying for no reason at all, have you feeling all exposed mentally. PLEASE DON'T WRONG SATURNIANS, YOU GET INSTANT KARMA. I find I get my hair done the most when the Venus is transiting my 1H. Chiron conjunct Mercury, especially in the 3H could have had a very challenging school life. They could have fought with teachers, gotten retained, failed classes, and it truly affected their mental esteem. They are learners by experience and thrive learning independently, though they could attract very wise people to help them along their journey. You are literal geniuses and never let anyone tell you're not. Libra 3H write beautiful poetry. Your Moon sign can represent your Sun sign in your past life. It's who you are, anyway, the actions you portray with no effort, where you feel most comfortable. It's the energy you're used to. You can learn a lot from a person you have 9th house synastry with, true wisdom.

Adolf Hitler's time-line
Tumblr media
This is Adolf Hitler, The Fuhrer, timeline:
1889: He was born in Vienna.
1892: the family moved to Passau, Germany, where the future dictator acquired his Low-Bavarian accent that would accompany him in the orations of his future political life.
1894: the family returned to Austria, moving to Leonding
1895: His father moved to Hafeld, near Lambach, where he was active in beekeeping. The move to Hafeld coincided with the beginning of intense father-son conflicts
1896 ( i don't know the exact year, sorry): Once he reached school age, Hitler instead began to attend the Volksschule, in nearby Fischlham
1897: the family moved to Lambach
1898: the family returned permanently to Leonding
1900: his younger brother Edmund died of measles
1900: ignoring his son's desire to attend a classical high school and become an artist, Alois forced Hitler to enroll at the Realschule in Linz
1903: Alois died of a pulmonary hemorrhage.
1908: His mother, Klara, dies.
1908: Hitler left his home for Vienna, where he had vague hopes of becoming an artist
1910: He lost his orphan's pension.
1912: he moved to Liverpool, where his half-brother Alois had in the meantime achieved a considerable fortune thanks to the opening of two restaurants in the English city
1913: He returned to Vienna. It was in Vienna that Hitler began to approach anti-Semitism.
1913: Hitler moved to Munich to avoid military service in the Austro-Hungarian army.
1914: Hitler enlisted as a volunteer at the age of 25 in Kaiser Wilhelm II's Bavarian army, being assigned to the 1st Company of the 16th "List" Infantry Regiment, belonging to the 6th Reserve Division. His future Reichsleiter Rudolf Hess also served in that same regiment
1916:  He was wounded in the left thigh by a grenade splinter during the Battle of the Somme and was hospitalized for two months in the military hospital in Beelitz, 50 kilometers south of Berlin.
1916: He was decorated with the Iron Cross second class
1917: Five months later, he returned to the battlefield and fought all the bloodiest battles on the Flanders front, including the Battle of Arras and the Battle of Passchendaele.
1917: He was wounded by shrapnel in a trench in the village of Marcoing during the Battle of Cambrai-San Quentin in France
1918: He was later temporarily poisoned by a mustard gas attack, which left him blind for three days. He was immediately admitted to Pasewalk Military Hospital where, according to some sources, he learned the news of the German defeat on November 9th.
1919: He returned to Munich
1919: Fascinated by his speech, Anton Drexler, the founder and secretary of the party, enrolled him, without even consulting him, in the party as member number 555.
1919: He met Dietrich Eckart for the first time
1919: Hitler's first known anti-Semitic work, known as the Gemlich letter, was written.
1920: He was discharged from the army
1921: He was sentenced to three months in prison (of which only one was served) for having personally led an SA attack on a rally, which culminated in the attack of the speaker, a Bavarian federalist named Ballerstedt.
1923: Hitler and other extremists attempted the failed Munich Putsch.
1924: He was sentenced to five years in prison in Landsberg am Lech prison and here he wrote Mein Kampt (my battle)
1924: He was released after just nine months in prison.
1925: The first part of Mein Kampf was published
1925: Hitler established the SS
1928: The Nazi Party failed miserably in the 1928 elections
1930: Hitler assumed the position of Oberste SA (supreme leader), entrusting the position of military commander (Stabschef) of the SA to Ernst Röhm
1930: the Nazi Party suddenly rose from obscurity and gained over 18% of the vote and 107 seats in the Reichstag, making it the second largest political force in Germany
1931: His niece Geli (they were supposedly having an affair) commits suicide.
1932: the Nazis achieved their best result, winning 230 seats and becoming the party with a relative majority; Thanks to this victory, Hitler also managed to finally obtain German citizenship.
1933: He was appointed Chancellor of Germany
1933: Using the pretext of the Reichstag fire, Hitler issued the "Reichstag fire decree" on 28 February 1933, less than a month after taking office. The decree suppressed most of the civil rights guaranteed by the 1919 constitution of the Weimar Republic in the name of national security.
1933: Dachau concentration camp opens its doors
1934: After Hindernburg's death, Hitler, who was the Chancellor, could not also become President of the Reich (head of State), created a new position for himself, that of Führer, which in practice allowed him to combine the two roles. He was Führer und Reichskanzler (Reich leader and chancellor). From 1934 until his death there was no Reich President in Germany.
1935: The Nuremberg Laws were proclaimed
1935: he had to have a polyp removed from his throat, which led to relapses later
1935: Hitler repudiated the Treaty of Versailles, reintroducing conscription in Germany.
1936: Hitler violated the treaty of Versailles again by occupying the Rhineland demilitarized zone.
1936: when the Spanish civil war broke out, Hitler sent troops to help Francisco Franco's rebels
1936: On Goebbels' idea, Hitler hosted the 11th Olympiad in Berlin
1936: There was the signing of a friendship treaty between the Kingdom of Italy and Germany in Berlin
1937: Hitler held a secret meeting in the Reich Chancellery, in which he declared his plans for the acquisition of "living space" for the German people.
1938: With a plebiscite Austria joined Germany (the so-called Anschluss) and Hitler, who thus laid the foundations of Greater Germany, made a triumphal entry into Vienna
1938: This led to the Munich Agreement of September 1938 in which the United Kingdom and France, with the mediation of Mussolini, weakly gave in to his demands to avoid war, thus "sacrificing" Czechoslovakia, which was occupied.
1939: The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is signed.
1939: The Germans enter Prague, occupying Czechoslovakia.
1939: The military alliance with Fascist Italy known as the Pact of Steel takes shape.

By the time Neil is done and getting dressed again, the locker room is empty. Neil packs his bag and slings it over his shoulder. He is halfway to the door when his phone hums. His first thought is it is a text, but his phone keeps buzzing. He stops to pull it out of his pocket and flips it open. The screen lights up with the incoming number and Neil's stomach bottoms out. He doesn't recognize the phone number, but he doesn't have to. He knows that 443 area code. Baltimore is calling. "Don't run."
The sound of his voice startles him. He hadn't meant to speak. His muscles scream with barely restrained tension; he is braced to bolt but somehow he holds his ground. Neil fights to relax, but his blood is pounding in his temples. He knows this isn't his father calling. It can't be; it won't be. It is Riko or one of Riko's lackeys playing a sick joke. Riko would know by now that the Foxes have made it to the fourth round. His attempt to rattle Neil with that countdown had failed. Neil knows that is the logical explanation, but it still takes him until the fourth ring before he can answer.
Day: Friday, March 8th / 9th* Time: 10:25 PM EST
*Due to the Leap Year, I have opted to highlight the day rather than the date to keep the events in occurrence to the 2007 year. I will continue to mark both days accordingly.

I hope that makes sense. basically, the seeding will still be correct. it's just round 2 that slightly off in numbering because I can't edit the polls. just pretend that poll 15 and 16 are actually 9 and 10, and everything else has been moved back by two polls.)

hey !! i was thinking about whether this year’s esc winner is already set in stone and the likelihood that käärijä could still manage to bag the win with a majority televote score …
i was feeling kind of nervous about it all but then i thought back to 2021 - (i haven’t watched it in a while so correct me if i’m wrong,) but did måneskin get that many high scores from the jury? I don’t think they got many 12 points there at least? (maybe just enough to get a rather average jury score i can’t remember)… they had some 12’s tho i think.
… obviously måneskin absolutely dominated the televote so i was wondering if there could be a similar situation in 2023 as to 2021, as 2021 had some hugely competitive acts and it was a nail biter up to the last minute ✨ (i’m tryna remain positive to manifest this win ahahah 💆🏻‍♀️)
This is one of those asks that lighted me up with need to answer with a thousand-word essay 😄 My take on why these cases are different and why Sweden is the winner Eurovision 2023 under the cut 👇
How to win with televote
Your arguments about Måneskin winning are correct. Italy got a set of 12 points from the Slovenian (neighbour), Croatian and Georgian juries but their average jury score was only 5,42. Both Italy 2021 and Ukraine 2022 won thanks to televote despite being only fourth in the juryvote. Here’s my explanation.
In 2021 the differences between jury favorites weren’t that big. Switzerland had 267 points, France behind them 248 points, Malta 208 points and Italy 206 points. Juries tend to go for artistic ballads but televote rarely shares that sentiment, so Switzerland’s “flop” was predictable. Malta is the biggest jury favorite in Eurovision history so their lower placing in televote wasn’t a surprise either. France did well in both components, deservedly so, and over all placed second behind Italy by only 25 points.
In 2022 Ukraine landslided the televote by getting exactly 200 points more than Moldova who came in second. They got an astounding average of 11,26 points from every country’s televote, and I don’t think we’re going to see a result like that for a while if ever. I believe that Ukraine would have won last year anyway, but understandably the war had a huge effect on televoters.
Sweden vs. Finland
Juries love Sweden. Or rather, Sweden has learnt to send entries that fit to the jury taste. These are the Swedish results from the last ten years: 2012: jury 1st, tele 1st 2013: jury 3rd, tele 18th 2014: jury 2nd, tele 3rd 2015: jury 1st, tele 3rd 2016: jury 9th, tele 6th 2017: jury 3rd, tele 8th 2018: jury 2nd, tele 23rd 2019: jury 2nd, tele 6th 2021: jury 17th, tele 11th           2022: jury 2nd, tele 4th
Eight times of ten, jury has loved Sweden more than televoters. Of those eight, they have placed Sweden in their top-3 seven times. Of those seven, they have won three times.
However, the juries' attitude towards Finland is very different. Since the juries came back in 2010, Finland has failed to make it to the final thanks to juries three times (2010, 2015, 2017) when the televote would have been enough for qualification. In comparison, here are our results from the last ten years.
2012: jury 12th, tele 12th in semi (NQ) 2013: jury 18th, tele 20th 2014 jury 7th, tele 17th 2015 jury 16th (last), tele 10th in semi (NQ) 2016 jury 12th, tele 15th in semi (NQ) 2017 jury 12th, tele 10th in semi (NQ) 2018 jury 24th, tele 21st (in semi jury 15th and tele 7th, thanks to televote 10th combined and qualified) 2019 jury 16th, tele 17th (last) in semi 2021 jury 11th, tele 4th (in semi jury 6th and tele 1st) 2022 jury 22nd, tele 16th
Why Sweden is the frontrunner
Just going into the contest, Sweden is almost guaranteed jury support. By looking at the results from previous years it is safe to say Loreen is going to be the jury winner. There is a slight possibility that we get a surprise jury winner like Austria in 2018 and North Macedonia in 2019. However, that would require there to be a clear jurybait song with great vocals, most likely a powerful ballad with innovative staging, and as far as I see, there are really no contenders for that this year. Who could surprise us? Switzerland, Spain, Estonia? Maybe Ukraine because their entry this year is so much slicker and more modern?
I'd also like to point out that in 2021 the jury winner placed sixth in the televote and in 2022 fifth. That is not going to happen in 2023. Loreen is a former Eurovision winner, fan favourite, charismatic, great singer and performer, the staging shows something never before seen on Eurovision stage (assuming they’ll bring the led screens with them to Liverpool) and Tattoo is already a huge hit so it’s not going to be too artistic or boring for the casual viewers. Sweden isn't even a country anyone would vote against for political reasons. I can’t see Loreen placing outside televote top-3. She can easily get over 300 points from the juries (average of 8,34).
Can we trust the odds?
There are years when neither the betting odds or fans have no clear idea which country is going to win, but those are in the minority. We’ve had some out-of-nowhere winners like Austria 2014 and Portugal 2017, who only begun to shine during the rehearsal week, but the way I see it that 2023 is going to be like 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2022 when the odds got the winner right weeks or months before the contest. As far as I can remember, the odds have always managed to predict a Nordic winner 😄
People have been pointing out to me that the odds might be wrong and Finland still has the chance to win despite being second in the odds. I do worry that the betting odds are failing us this year, but for a different reason. My concern is that thanks to the Käärijä hype that has been going on in Finland since January has made lot of Finns bet for their own country. In 2015 the night before the first semi final Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät was sixth in the odds to win the whole contest, only to end up in last place of their semi.
It is not often that Finland believes in their own chances in Eurovision, but when we do it sometimes makes us blind for what is realistic. Not everyone making Eurovision bets is familiar with how the juries usually vote and how that might effect the overall result. Not to mention that despite Finland being second in the odds behind Sweden, their winning chance is now 40% and ours only 15%.
Personal prediction
Please keep in mind that I’m not an expert of betting odds nor Eurovision, just a fan with a love for statistics 🙃
As for Finland, just qualifying let alone a placement in top-10 is of course an amazing result for us – hell, we’ve never even qualified more than twice in a row! My wish is that we could somehow crack into top-5 for the first time ever (2006 not taken into account). There is a possibility that we could win the televote (depending on running order) but juries are going leave Käärijä outside top-10, which means our placing is around 6th/7th in the overall results. Juries rarely care about silly upbeat songs especially if they are sung in native language and based on that I see Finland going the same route as Moldova 2022 (2nd in tele, 20th in juries, 7th combined) or Norway 2019 (1st in tele, 18th in jury, 6th combined).
Sweden wins. Loreen either wins both the juries and televote or placing in second/third in one or both of them. We might have a different jury winner (Spain? Switzerland?) or televote winner (Finland? Norway? Czechia?) but it doesn’t matter because they both flop in the other component (still placing in top-10 though).
You can quote me May 14th 2023 🙂

Good god, ok… I started getting tired around year 10 and I just finished this a few minutes ago (it’s past 3 am). There are a lot of plots at the beginning that don’t differentiate between meta lore plots and world lore plots but they become distinctly separate at year 6. The crossed out dates are because I’d like to come up with month names that don’t sound as infantile as the canonical ones.
Neopets Timeline:

Queen Fyora ascends to the throne and unites the elements. (Year unknown)
Calabrus gifts the faeries a magic bowl and Faerieland is created with the aid of said artifact. (Year still unknown)

Neovia cursed its residents returning as ghosts once every Halloween. (Year 2 SE)
Faerieland discovered. (approx. Year 1 KE)
Dr. Sloth attempts to take over Neopia by turning neopets into VirtuPets. (Year 2 KE)

Modron, Quarton
Tumblr media
Image © @tredlocity
[In the original Monster Manual 2, quartons have absolutely no unique abilities whatsoever. Which allowed them to be a blank slate for me. So I gave them powers of crafting and construction, and also a bunch of references to the spells and magic items of original AD&D that assumed that high level characters would settle down and build their own dungeons. On a related note, is the lyre of building a joke about Nero? Or is there some myth or story about construction sped up by playing a lyre that I don’t know?]
Modron, Quarton CR 18 LN Outsider (extraplanar) This humanoid giant has four arms, two enormous and two small. It has fan-like wings growing from its back, and a head like a helmet. A symbol of a diamond sits on the center of its forehead.
Quartons are the modron hierarchs that represent Primus’ mastery over artifice. They are engineers and builders of incredible skill, mixing magical and mundane techniques to create buildings and tools that are unparalleled throughout the planes. They often act as architects and supervisors, coordinating the efforts of lesser modrons to perform the bulk of the labor, and then adding the finishing touches to optimize efficiency. As such, a single quarton may oversee construction projects throughout Regulus, delegating to a team of decatons for most of the day-to-day affairs.
Although quartons have four arms, they are decidedly uneven in size. The smaller pair is used for spellcasting, while the larger pair is used for combat and manual labor. A quarton typically carries a massive two-handed hammer as a badge of office, and blows with this hammer can shatter inanimate objects and clear earth and stone with ease. A quarton often focuses its strikes in combat on enemy gear rather than on their flesh, hoping to demoralize foes and persuade them of the wisdom of surrender. If this fails, or if fighting chaotic enemies, the quarton instead fights with maximum lethal efficiency.
As quartons rarely leave the bustle of Regulus, they provide tools in order for other modrons to fulfill the will of Primus on other planes or planets. Their workshops build the vast majority of the weapons wielded by modrons, and they also provide hierarchs on the Great Modron March with tools for securing and defending territory. Instant fortresses, lyres of building, and simple scrolls of stone shape and move earth are provided to expeditionary forces. On the rare occasions where a quarton leaves Regulus, it is usually to inspect a site captured by modrons to determine if it is suitable for long-term occupation, and to design fortifications to spec if it is.

This ability can confer a +4 enhancement bonus, or weapon or armor special qualities equivalent to a +4 enhancement bonus, or a mixture. The abilities granted must be appropriate for the type of weapon or armor, and the quarton cannot confer any ability with an alignment other than lawful. A quarton cannot use this ability on the same piece of equipment multiple times at once, but can use it to increase the enhancement of already magical weapons or armor. A bonus conferred in this way lasts for 20 minutes. A quarton can use this ability a number of times per day equal to its Charisma modifier. Spells A quarton casts spells as an 18th level cleric with access to the Artifice domain. Titanic Strikes (Su) A quarton deals double damage to inanimate objects with its weapon attacks, and can use any tool to clear earth or stone as per a mattock of the titans. Ultimate Craftsman (Ex) A quarton gains a +8 racial bonus to all Craft skills, and gains four item creation feats as bonus feats. A quarton can create non-magical items in ¼ the time as normal. By meditating for eight hours, a quarton can change one or more of the Craft skills it is trained in to another Craft skill.

Dublin 1997: Televoting
Tumblr media
It was only natural for Eurovision countries to try to select the meta if they wanted to do well. A stubborn, conservative and stagnant consensus had formed. The ballad-schlager axis.
Occasionally a new strand would emerge accidentally (traditional Celtic/Irish music), and there was a rush to exploit it. It did not last long, and once again Balladageddon re-established itself. In the real world, these songs were not selling.
There was a push to encourage national selections to be braver and some were, but nothing managed to challenge Eurovision orthodoxy. It was time for the EBU to take action.
The juries were the problem. Not only did they consistently fail to vote for the new or experimental, they also tended to favour neighbouring countries or countries with similar musical cultures to their own. Block voting had been an issue as far back as 1963 when there were accusations that the Norwegian jury changed their results to favour Denmark. It had never really gone away, and now it was discriminating against the newcomers.
The juries needs a shake-up.
Luckily there was a solution. Telecommunications technology had recently begun being able to handle televoting. Short phones calls to exchanges that could record numbers and could cope with a sudden burst of incoming calls. It had been used in several national finals for some years, even if there were some teething problems like those that afflicted the Finnish national selection final in 1996.
In 1997 the EBU took the plunge. Five countries with the most experience at running televotes were selected to replace their juries with 100% televoted results. These could be gathered and verified during the interval act. There was only a short time for voting, but it was enough. It had the additional benefit in that those televotes cost the callers money, so there was income to be generated, although at first that reward was taken by the telecommunications companies themselves.
Even in 1997, the results were there to be seen. Some counties that scored reasonably highly with juries, did not with the televote:
Slovenia got 60 points and finished 10th, but it didn't get a single point from the televoting countries.
Spain got 96 points and finished 6th, with 17 counties giving them points. Among those that gave them nothing were three of the televoting countries.
Malta, the perennial English-language boosted nation got 66 points, finishing 9th, but no points came from the televote.
Other countries were more favoured by the televote but not at all by the juries.
Iceland got all but 2 of its 18 points from the televote
Denmark got 10 of its 25 points from just three televoting countries
Bosnia & Herzegovina got 13 of its 22 points from four televoting countries in possibly the first case of televoting sympathy for a country recently at war (although I know it's hard not to vote for Alma)
There were still some oddities, and there was some neighbourly voting clearly remaining. The German televote gave Türkiye 12 points which could be the first instance diasporic voting, but Türkiye's song finished with 121 points and finished 3rd overall, so possibly not.
Was it a success? Well more data would be needed, but there were some shifts in the direction the EBU wanted to go. That data would start rushing in during the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest. The first one to be 100% televote. Well except for the three countries that still had juries. What would the brave new jury-less world look like?

Transiting Venus enters retrograde zone
Timeline (current events in bold)
Sunday, June 4, 2023, 15:00 UT - Venus’ greatest eastern elongation, 29°06’ Cancer
Monday, June 19, 07:18 UT - transiting Venus enters pre-retrograde shadow, 12°12’ Leo
Sunday, July 23, 01:33 UT - transiting Venus stations retrograde, 28°36’ Leo
Sunday, August 13, 11:15, Sun-Venus inferior conjunction, 20°28’ Leo
Monday, September 4, 01:20 UT - transiting Venus stations direct, 12°12’ Leo
Saturday, October 7, 9:21 UT - transiting Venus exits post-retrograde shadow, 28°36’ Leo
Thursday, October 24, 2023, 02:57 UT - Venus’ greatest western elongation, 14°02’ Virgo
Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 15:33 UT - Sun-Venus superior conjunction, 14°30’ Gemini
Friday, January 10, 2025, 09:59 UT - Venus’ greatest eastern elongation, 7°35’ Pisces
Tuesday, January 28, 2025 - transiting Venus enters pre-retrograde shadow, 24°37’ Pisces
That is rather more timeline information than I usually write - I wanted to show the whole process, if only to enable people to find the similarities and differences between Venus’ and Mercury’s retrograde zones.
But what does it all mean? Here is Martin Bulgerin’s take (from www . biopscinst . com):
When Venus is in retrograde, the emotions and instincts go haywire. Our usual sense of what is beautiful, pleasing and attractive is suspended. Some astrologers warn against buying anything for its aesthetic appeal during this cycle, since the object will seem like a "lapse of good taste" at a later date. Relationships begun now can be the same way. I'd double-check any decisions made by "gut level instinct" or by the way the situation feels while Venus is backing up.
How does this translate into Venus’ areas?
Art - I knit and crochet, and I consistently have found Venus Rx to bring me all kinds of excessively elaborate ideas for dazzling future projects; they invariably fail to materialize.
Beauty - the classic Venus Rx problem here is the drastic haircut that ends up a disaster. Don’t do it!
Love - and the typical event in this category is the return of former lovers, whether we want to see them again or not.
Money - Venus rules money; Leo rules gambling and investment. Not only is Martin’s caution about splurging on something tacky very valid (Leo has a tacky streak), but we are also in danger of spending too much on bad investments eg “get rich quick schemes.”
All our Venus functions are due for a little recalibration. (Venus as ruler of Libra, the Scales, can get behind this.) During these pre-retrograde shadow weeks, we need to be alert for the themes which we’ll focus on.
Venus will make some “three-peat” aspects during her time in the Zone. If they trigger anything in your chart, watch out! The following all occur during the pre-retrograde shadow:
Sunday, June 11 - Venus/Leo square Jupiter/Taurus, 5°37’ (I know, this was technically not in Venus’ retrograde zone, but it’s still a three-peat!)
Thursday, June 29 - Venus/Leo trine Chiron/Aries, 19°42’
Sunday, July 2 - Venus/Leo square Uranus/Taurus, 21°46’
Saturday, July 8 - Venus/Leo trine Eris/Aries, 25°14’
Saturday, July 15 - Venus/Leo inconjunct Neptune Rx/Pisces, 27°37’
Some scaffolding, if you’re in need of it:
Consider your natal Venus by sign and house - this is the cause, the instigator, behind what’s about to happen. (Venus in Taurus and the 6th, conjunct my Descendant.)
Which house(s) of your natal chart will Venus Rx be parked in? Here’s where the action is. (Back and forth between my natal 9th and 10th.)
Will Venus make any aspects to your Sun, Moon, Ascendant/Descendat, &/or MC/IC? These will be Very Big Deals. (Sextile, trine, square, conjunct/oppose - jackpot!!)
Is anything else going on in your chart, Venus-related? (Transiting Jupiter will be conjunct my natal Venus for the whole period; ditto for transiting Neptune semi-square natal Venus; my progressed Venus enters Leo in early August.)

@my-shields-are-down asked about The Rookie timeline I was creating this is what I got lol
The Rookie Rewatch
@MANDY_rieger on twitter has been helping me with a few things I forgot to add in originally
so I am doing a rewatch of The Rookie while we are in a hiatus and I am tweeting about it while I am at it lol. I am also trying to make sense of the Timeline lol so this post is gonna be me tracking the time line the best i can lol
s1ep1 - Two days
s1ep2 - based on the beginning of the episode I think it is still the first week of training
is s1ep5 is a month
s1ep7 is 2 months in
S1ep11 is 4 months in. Nolan said “4 months together” to Bishop
S1ep12 is Valentines day so Feb 14th.
Would that mean that they started in october?
s1ep14 is 100 days in because that is plain clothes day
S1ep16 is march 19-march 20th, Capt Anderson died MArch 20th 2019
S1ep19 is about 6 months because they have their 6 month exam.
Also in s1ep19 during Talia’s meeting the IA officer said “this past october you failed to secure your vehicle”. Which means that the episode where the one dude takes selfies in the shop is in October, (s1ep3)
So season 1 is officially 6 months.
I CAN'T with this shit lol.
Ok so the opening scene of s2ep1 starts with everyone getting to the hospital, and it picks up right where it left off, but like legit the next scene is at Nolans new place with Jess and they were talking about the shooting the night of the quarantine and she says something about 2 weeks, then the next scene is TIm’s return to work. So like I’m assuming we’re at about 6 and half months now? Lol
S2ep2 - still at about 6 months. Grace and Nolan ran into each other again for the first time in years, and Grace asked Nolan how long he’s been a cop and he says 6 months.
S2ep3-s2ep4 Is 2 weeks. Rachel tells Lucy him and Rachel have been dating 2 weeks.
S2ep6- Wopez have been together for 5 months
S2ep6 They graduated the Academy sometime in September
s2ep6 - the dui they are discussing was March 16th.
S2ep7 Jackson is 26
S2ep8 as of this episode Tim has been a cop for 12 years
S2ep10- this episode is Dec 7th 2019, as well as dec 8th 2019
S2ep11 is dec 9th and 10th
Which means we are already at 14 months which is the most broken thing in this time line lol.
S2ep18 one year into being a Rookie. And they have 1 month. So they are at 12 months, but they hit 14 months already soooo this timeline is too broken lol hahahahahaha
S3ep1 picks up where s2 left off. Also we find out Angela is pregnant
S3ep2 Tim says Lucy has 25 days left of training
S3ep4 Nolan has said a dozen times this episode that he is 46
S3ep5 Tim says Jackson is 24. But when Tim and Jackson went to the football thing Jackson said he was 26 🤔😆
S3ep7 the missile threat was June 3rd 2019
S3ep9 is suppose to be 13 months but I mean come on now 😂 Angela says she's 14 weeks pregnant
S3ep10 is the first day of Lucy and Jackson as P2-which means it’s *suppose* to be 13 total
S3ep14 when Lopez is in guatemala the nurse says she is 29 weeks pregnant.
S4ep1 is suppose to 14 months because Nolan is at the end of is rookie period
By the end of the of the episode there is a 3 month time jump
S4ep5 is Halloween- pretty sure it suppose to be of 2020 technically as it is AFTER dod which was dec of 2019

Higuchi: A Thot
I want to talk about Higuchi, because the last time we had an author without a skill, y'all know what we got? Tachihara
First, the briefest of biographies for irl Higuchi Ichiyo:
She was born in 1872 to a family of farmers living in Tokio. She was shy and quiet, and when she studied on a prestigious institute for poetry she developed a sort of inferiority complex, as her family was economically strained and all of her classmates were well off.
After the death of her father, her mother, siblings and her moved to Yoshiwara, a red district in Tokio, where she found the inspiration for her stories, with usually involve the struggles of poor women.
She worked at odd jobs until she found success with her short tale Umoregi (translated as In the Darkness, literal "obscurity"). She fell in love with her writing mentor, but it was unrequited.
Her most celebrated works include Nigorie (translated as In Muddy water, lit. muddy creek), Juusan'ya (trans. The Thirteenth Night, lit. 13th night of the 9th month, a crescent-moon watching festival), and Takekunabe (trans. Growing Up, lit to compare height).
She produced over 25 stories in the period between 1892 and her death of tuberculosis at age 24 in 1896.
We can find clear traces of Higuchi-sensei in bsd Higuchi: her inferiority complex (do I really belong in the Mafia?) and unrequited love (which I consider an interesting twist in the 'senpai please notice me' type of character), and I think we could make the case for a similar backstory (Higuchi-sensei's father entered vassalage -sp?- to a lord the year before the feudal system was banned, then became a goverment official but died drowning in debt; so middle class but plunged in poverty, as good a reason as any for bsd Higuchi to enter the Mafia).
But that's not why I'm here for. I'm here for HER SKILL. What is it? Has it manifested yet but it's a non-combat type of skill so she never uses it? Or is she going to be our window into seeing a skill manifest for the first time (oh god I hope so)?
Higuchi-sensei's works are mostly tragedies: Takekunabe is the story of the last days of a girl before she's old enough to be sold to a brothel; Nigorie is the story of a courtesan stabbed by a former lover; Juusan'ya is about a woman married to an abusive man; Yamiyo (trans. Encounters on a Dark Night, lit. mooonless night) is a couple's failed attempt at revenge. But from what little I could find online, her stories have a "this is just how it is on this bitch of an Earth" quality. Not exactly defeatism but more like status-quoism.
All this leads me to believe, maybe foolishly, that some tragedy will befall bsd Higuchi and her skill will manifest (putting money on something happening to Akutagawa in front of her rn). It will be enough to save Akutagawa/herself/what-have-you, but it will have no effect whatsoever on their relationship: senpai will always be too busy thinking about Dazai to notice her. Status-quoism at its finest.
Now, what will her skill be? Let's search Higuchi-sensei's works for clues.
And damn, this woman liked her Thing as Title: we have Umoregi (obscurity), Nigorie (muddy creek), Juusan'ya (13th of 9th month), Yamiyo (moonless night), Outsugomori (New Year's Eve), Wakaremichi (crossroads), Yamisakura (flowers in dark -or depression), Wakarejimo (spring frost), Samidare (early summer rain)... I could keep going and going.
Considering bsd Higuchi's first fight was against Tanizaki's light snow, I'd love to see her skill being based on a weather title. However, it's unlikely because her most famous novel (which earned her praise from, maybe meaningfully, Mori Ougai) was Takekunabe (to compare heights, so maybe giantification??)

Homebrew Lycanthropy Rules
I'm gonna be honest, almost everything about base 5e lycanthropy fucking SUCKS. It's a curse with almost no downsides, basically buffs the shit out of a PC, and if for some reason they don't want it, it's cured incredibly easily in a world where magic is readily available.
Now, my players are about to fight a werewolf, and I really like overthinking homebrew rules, so I sat down and tried to find rules for homebrewed lycanthropy and make some of my own to fix it as best as I could for my game, and I thought maybe some people would find this helpful for their game as well!
PCs BECOMING LYCANTHROPES
Normally, the only way to play a lycanthrope is by being a Bloodhunter, and while those rules for lycanthropy are pretty good, I found one that's more generalized.
GRIM HOLLOW, which you can buy the PDF here for 25$, is a fantastic resource for all things horror, and one of the options offered are transformations. This allows your players to turn into vampires, liches, fiends, etc, for more horror and evil PC games, but the one of interest is the Lycanthrope option! It gives much more depth to the player's journey of becoming a lycanthrope. The only thing I'd really change with the rules as someone that unfortunately hasn't been able to playtest them yet is changing the required strength to none so any afflicted player can begin the journey.
I also really like flavoring lycanthropy in roleplay and changing it depending on which strain you get; for example, the character that is attacking the party struggles with anger issues normally.
CURING LYCANTHROPY
There's a lot of different rules, and it will really come down to what your game is. In mine, the players will not deal with werewolves often, and it is extremely heavy on roleplay, meaning days with no fights. Therefore, I found this set of rules on a forum (thank you TheYeti1775) and really loved them, and have modified them slightly to what you see here now
If the character has been cursed with lycanthropy, it can be cured by a Remove Curse at 6th level if cast before the next full moon. If the full moon has occurred since the curse, only a Remove Curse at 9th level can cure it.
However, there is an additional method to make it easier that isn't well known. 3 doses of Belladonna must be ingested successfully in a row. A minimum of one long rest must be completed over the dosing time. This can be done between the 1st & 2nd or the 2nd & 3rd dose. A minimum of a short rest is required after every dose. No other benefit is gained from any of these rests during the dosing time.
After each dose the character must make a Constitution Save DC 15 if done before the next full moon (DC 17 if not). Any poison bonus would apply, if character is immune to poison the Belladonna will not work at all.
If they pass they are only Exhausted.
A fail means the character is Exhausted, and must take a Short Rest before ingesting more Belladonna. This does not reset the process, but the character must take this dose again successfully before proceeding.
A fail by 5 or more, the character will be Exhausted and Incapacitated (does not count as Short Rest) for 2 hours. This causes the curing process to step back 1 success.
A fail by 10 or more, the character will be Exhausted, Incapacitated, and Unconscious (does not count as Short Rest) for 4 hours. This resets the curing process the character must restart with the first dose.
After succeeding 3 doses in a row, a 3rd-level Remove Curse can be cast to cure a character who has not experienced a full moon while cursed, and 6th-level if so.
Now, this isn't perfect, I'm going to need to run it to test it, and this definitely will not work for all games. However, as someone running a RP-heavy game, this is literally the DND version of a sick fic, and I chose it because my players have been thoroughly enjoying some fluff recently.
Feel free to make your own changes and add your own ideas! Hopefully, this helps someone!!

Hi! How are you? I hope you're doing well! So, I've been trying to learn about my MC persona chart to know about the career but I'm lost! I'm so so lost!! Maybe trying to read mc chart as a complete beginner was too much after all. I don't even know where to begin 😭 Can you help me? So..I have ..
Sun - Taurus 5° 9th house
Moon - Taurus 25° 9th house Mercury - Taurus 7° 9th house Venus - Aries 1° 7th house Mars - Sagittarius 27° 4th house Jupiter - Gemini 12° 10th house Saturn - Gemini 0° 9th house
Uranus - Aquarius 24° 6th house Neptune - Aquarius 8° 6th house Pluto - Sagittarius 14° 4th house True node - Cancer 8° 11th house Chiron - Sagittarius 28° 4th house Asc - Virgo 6°
Desc - Pisces 6° IC - Sagittarius 6° MC - Gemini 6°
It doesn't have to be in detail...please just give me an overall direction to go or the industry that's best for me. Because I'm lost 😭 Also..I want to learn astrology but I don't know where to start. Can you give me some guide or recommendations? Thank you very much in advance
Right! So first things first, persona charts are so subtle that the one thing I recommend, as with most charts, but these especially is to look for the chart ruler
In this case, the ascendant is in Virgo, so the chart ruler is Mercury. Where is Mercury? What sign is it in and what aspects is it making? Are the aspects helpful and generally positive? Are they applying or separating? Where is the persona charts planet or point? This is a key point of reference as well.
Now let’s consider what the Midheaven actually is
It is the highest point of the chart and essentially corresponds to the energy we are seeking to embody and become throughout our lives.
There is one astrologer, Taryn Bond I believe who said that the MC is who you are meant to become against all odds. When all else fails, tap into the sign and energy of your Midheaven. Depending on what your Midheaven looks like, this can be rather difficult or intimidating.
In the case of this persona chart, we look at the key parts of it. Mercury is in Taurus and is placed in the 9th house - placidus wise.
Here is my second recommendation for reading these charts - use WHOLE SIGNS. It takes away the complexity as they are already complex enough. The devil is in the deets and these charts need to be simplified so that we can properly tune into them.
In whole signs, it is likely the chart will still have a 9th house stellium, that includes Mercury, the Sun and the Moon. That tells you the majority of what you need to know! The stellium contains the chart ruler and two of the most crucial planets in any chart. Those being the Sun and Moon.
So, my dear, I’ve just made a post about the 9th house, I urge you to read it.
What I will leave you with is this, the energy Taurus brings into the 9th house is that of an artistic muse. Someone who spends ample energy and resources trying to find a way for things to work in total alignment and comfort. You may be suited to work in publication, for example, magazine publication—a very Venusian career (Venus is the ruler of Taurus).
To recap of my earlier questions:
• The chart Ruler is Mercury
• Mercury is in Taurus - 9th house
• It is conjunct the Sun, Square Neptune & Sextile the North Node.
• The Midheaven itself is in Gemini - a sign that places emphasis on communication and understanding. They are curious and seek to learn and adapt to their environments. Read about Gemini Midheaven careers and industries, you will find a lot of them are communication based, and thus could be something as simple as teaching or as expansive (referring to that 9th house stellium here) as publishing or journalism. Hell, even being a damn news anchor. But, I digress. You will know the answers :)
This indicates a lot of the battle is won through simply honoring your personal talents and the cards you’ve been dealt. Don’t try to be something you are not and over complicate the matter. Do what comes natural and easy, and work hard at it, this is the way of Taurus.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for the question! 🤍 And I am very well thank you :)

Buer - CR8 Demon
For when you can't decide whether to use a demon or a ceiling fan.
Tumblr media
Artwork is concept art from Final Fantasy VIII, copyright Squaresoft.
This is one of the more interesting and memorable enemy designs in Final Fantasy 8. In every other Final Fantasy game that has an enemy called a Buer, it's just a palette swap of the classic Final Fantasy enemy Ahriman.
This creature is pretty resistant to magic and pretty weak to physical damage. It's a magic specialist, and teaches other demons and curious humans about demonic ideas of magic, philosophy, and even medicine and herbalism. These ideas are largely focused around seeking the thrill of destruction, the glory of taking apart living creatures piece by piece, and very detailed and enthusiastic instructions on how precisely to accomplish these things. A buer's lectures are sort of like the charismatic sermons of a fire-and-brimstone preacher, just in reverse, praising the qualities that such a preacher would condemn. They excite other demons into a frenzied fervor before battle.
Some of this creature's lore is related to the 16th century mythological demon named Buer. The FF8 visual design is actually very similar to the depiction from the 1818 book Dictionnaire Infernal. Just with a spiral of wings instead of a spiral of goat feet, which is frankly a significant upgrade in terms of visual design.
Elemental Spell-like Ability isn't a real feat, but it's a metamagic spell-like ability feat that does exactly what it sounds like, and I included a description in the creature's special abilities so there's no confusion.
Buer - CR 8
Surrounded by a spiral of feathered wings that's surrounded by a larger spiral of leathery wings, this flying beast head hovers in mid-air.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Concentrated Fire (Su) A buer can reduce the radius of its fireball by increments of 5 feet, to a minimum of a 5-foot radius. For each 5-foot increment it reduces the spell, it increases the spell’s damage by 1d6. This additional damage can exceed the spell’s maximum damage.
Elemental Spell-like Ability (Sp) Three times per day, when a buer casts fireball, it can change the damage type to cold, acid, or electricity, or split the spell’s damage, so that half is of that energy type and half is fire damage.
Magic Reflection (Sp) Once per day as an immediate action, when it fails a saving throw against a spell with a target of one creature or is hit by a spell with an attack roll, it can reflect that spell back to the attacker. The attacker is subject to the full effects of the spell as if it failed the saving throw or were hit by the attack roll.

An Analysis of Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin
I've been SUPER fixated on this park and its issues since I went with Batz a few weeks ago, so here's a glimpse into my neurodivergence at its finest <3
Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin is a theme park located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Opening in 1999, the park boasts 20 water rides- previously making the park known as ‘Land of the Giants’ for sporting 5 of the world’s largest waterslides-, 3 coasters (currently), and 24 more fair-style rides. Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin currently has a few major recorded incidents and I’m here to discuss those combined with the underhanded shady business practices going on behind the scenes because 🤷 what else do you do on a sunday
Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin has been a huge part of my childhood. I went there for the first time when I was 6 or 7 years old, and ever since then I have had a massive hyperfixation on theme parks. However, happy memories turned sour as I went there recently for a family vacation; the entire Dixie Landin half of the park was completely shut down, Blue Bayou was severely understaffed, and the most horrifying part of it all: the ticket prices (/hj). When you went in, it was five dollars for parking, fifty to get into the park (twice as much as full price used to be even with half the park shut down), and overpriced merchandise all throughout the waterpark. From what we could see of Dixie Landin, the rides looked worn down- like nobody had cared for them for years . We had a great time with what was open, but I couldn’t help but wonder: who or what made this once-great park end up in such a state of disrepair?
So there’s a lot to unpack here, I will be honest. I will go over the labor and pay violations last, as it still happens to this day and is getting worse each year. To start this analysis of the park’s flaws off, I will start with the thing I found the funniest in my research: a failed P!ATD concert.
In July 2015, Panic! At The Disco had a scheduled performance on the Coca-Cola concert stage. Thousands of people traveled from several hours away to see this concert, only to be met with a park that was not prepared for the overwhelming crowd of fans. The park was packed, the event gates opened an hour late, and there was no easy access to drinking water which left a multitude of folks dehydrated, some passing out, and one even having a seizure. Looking at BBDL’s reviews online, this was the start of the park’s bad reputation to the public. However, an incident in 2010 trumps this and is horribly overlooked, in my opinion. This is where we get into less-funny territory.
Around 4 PM on July 11th, Lindsay Zeno rode her last roller coaster in DIxie Landin. The 21 year old woman was riding on the ‘X-treme’ coaster with her friends when a restraint bar supposedly failed on the ride. There is no clear reason as to what happened, but stories vary from the locking mechanism not pushed in fully to her somehow tampering with the restraint. No matter how it happened though, she plummeted 30 feet to her eventual death after she was seen trying to pull the restraint down before a sharp curve. Experts were brought in and several critical investigations were performed on the ride, but no conclusion could be reached. This was the park’s first fatal incident. In 2006, there was another incident, but the victim survived and his family sued the park for it. A 2-year old (4-year old according to wikipedia) boy named Kobe Carter fell at least 25 feet on June 9th off of the ‘Over the Rainbow’ ride, breaking his arms and legs.
Surprisingly, those are the only two major injury/death related incidents. The final issue I would like to discuss is all of the financial issues surrounding Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin. This includes prices, employee payment, and how they spend their money regarding the park.
As I mentioned in the first bit of this analysis, the ticket prices are insane. Only half of the park is open, but the tickets are full price (and even higher than they used to be due to inflation). This was even more insane in early 2021-22, when they were only able to open a few of the rides at Blue Bayou, and only offered a small discount to make up for it. The staff were- and still are- being severely underpaid, causing a ton of negligence (Surprise! People don’t like to work for free!). Further research led me to one of their shady business practices: employees (who were mostly high school age just looking for summer jobs) work for minimum wage with the promise of a big bonus at the end of each season. Sounds great, right? It would be a decent payment plan, if it weren’t for the higher ups cutting the employees loose right before the bonus can be issued. (I don’t have an official source for it, but read this in a few of the park reviews and overheard it from some of the lifeguards on break).
The park owners also overcharge for everything with none of the earned money going back into the park, and will find any way to make and keep money they can. A few reviews from 2021 even said that they were in the waterpark for ten minutes maximum before a weather warning stopped the entire park for the rest of the day. This would be understandable if guests would get some sort of compensation for the $40-50 they just spent to get in, or if they would let them back in after the weather is clear, but they did nothing of the sort. No refunds, extremely rare price decreases, and cutting corners where they can manage it. The park need serious work to be done on it, such as repainting and making rides safer (some of the other guests while we were there had said they had been scratched up and injured by the waterslides as screws had come up and the sharp edges of the piping had come up in some spots.. And.. um. I can vouch for them because I too was a little beat up after some of the rides) and it has needed these repairs for a while now, but the owners want as much money as they can flowing into their pockets so they spare every expense they can.
Sad to say it, but if the park keeps raising prices with no improvements the way it has been, people will eventually just have enough and stop going, making Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin the eventual next star of a Defunctland video. If you look at the reviews online, it’s not hard to find people who have sworn to never go back. I personally hope the park gets new owners and can return back to the greatness it was when I was a kid, but I’m not sure how many more years it can hold up.
I’m tired after writing all of this (it's been like 4 hours now) so I hope it all makes sense. This isn’t a critique or a report or anything, just an analysis of what I’ve been hyperfixating on for the past few weeks because I was going to explode if I didn’t infodump about it <3
