A is for Anachronism

For week 1 of the Alphabet Superset I’ve made a FREE mini zine, inspired by the letter A, called Anachronism! This is the first in a series I’m making called Umbrulexicon. This mini zine gives all the rules to play a new class in Mörk Borg called Anachronism.

What is Mörk Borg? To quote the creators: “A doom metal album of a game. A spiked flail to the face. Light on rules, heavy everything else.” Mörk Borg is a rules light, flavor rich TTRPG system that is easy to pick up and “brutal” to play. Brutal, in that your character likely will die and that’s okay!

What is a TTRPG? It stands for Tabletop Role-playing Game. These games are played in a variety of ways, but often include dice of various types, some paper for record keeping, and your imagination. It could include miniature figurines and physical maps, but this is entirely optional, especially for Mörk Borg.

To explain the layout of this mini zine, once you’ve folded the book, the first inside page contains flavorful text to introduce the Anachronism.

Next, their starting silver, Omens (which are explained in the Mörk Borg rules) and starting HP.

Next comes the Abilities for the character. Some of them are alterations to the starting ability scores. Any ability scores that aren’t mentioned are found by rolling a flat 3d6. Others are mechanics that will affect how you play.

Starting on the next page is a table of six items. Roll a d6 to receive one. Each item has its flavor text and mechanics beneath it.

On the last inside page there is another table which you may roll a d6 on to decide where you got the previous item.
