Moment of appreciation for the soundtrack of No Man's Sky created by 65daysofstatic. For anyone that hasn't, I'd really recommend listening to the album in order. The different tracks flow into each other quite nicely.

Went to see 65daysofstatic last night.
First, I caught a few songs by opener Sugarhorse. Think post-metal plus some (elongated) vocals here and there. I’m not very familiar with their discography, but overall, they were a decent band.
Next was the main course. They were to perform 2 sets. First celebrate the tenth anniversary of Wild Light by playing it in its entirety. Then take a 10-15 minute break before returning to do a second set spanning their 20 years of music.
Simply put, the concert was amazing. Both sets were a lot of fun. I’ve listened to Wild Light a lot of over the ears and hearing it performed live was just amazing. I’m not sure I can return to the album version. The second set was possibly even a bit better, as it had been years since I last saw them live and so was treated to hearing some of my all-time favourites, like Debutante, Crash Tactics and I Swallowed Hard Like I Understood.
I remember seeing Use Knife earlier this month and wondering how much sonic violence you could allow upon a group of people. Answer: as long as they’re standing there, you’re good. It was a great experience to witness 4 guitars create a gulf of sound that was ready to wash done over a willing audience. Although I did wonder how often you could applaud during a song because you liked that particular part…or do you just don’t know when the song ends? It didn’t detract from the atmosphere.
The band was grateful for the 20+ years of existence and they mentioned it multiple times. From my humble point of view, I’d say, it’s well deserved. I can’t name a band like them. The way they’ve blended post-rock with electronics is one of a kind and although others may try to imitate, there’s only 1 65daysofstatic.
