Human World Adventures

Part 5

While they're still fighting and insulting each other feat Lucifer stepping in, here's Haruka, the angels, and Ichigo buying some things in the mall. Of course, they have permission from Michael.

Haruka: So...which one should we buy? The Uno stack one or the casual Uno cards.

Ichigo: Man I hate it when I leave my Uno cards back in H.O.L. We'll just get the casual card.

Haruka: That's a good idea^^ We'll get those

Luke: Haruka, can we get this too? [puppy eyes]

Haruka: A corgy plushie?

Luke: Yes! It looks fluffy! Can we get it?

Haruka: Simeon?

Simeon: I think we can get them. I'll handle the payment for the plushie if it burdens you^^

Haruka: Oh no, it's fine. Come on, let's go and pay^^

So Haruka paid for the things they bought until she saw a decor store as they're walking out.

Haruka: Simeon... I think I'm gonna go and see what's in there...

Simeon: Oh, do you want me to come with you?

Haruka: There's no need. You need to take care of Luke, don't you?

Simeon: Oh yeah that's true. Why don't you take Ichigo with you?

Just as he said that Ichigo feels a vibration in her pocket. She of course sees who's calling her, turns out it's Lucifer. It seems to be really urgent when Lucifer calls her considering he's a very prideful demon.

Ichigo: Lucifer? What's up?

Lucifer: We have an emergency. Satan and Beel are fighting and Beel somehow wants to meet you, if you don't come here anytime soon.... they might actually fight.

Ichigo: Why would they fight?! Wait! Where are they right now?!

Lucifer: Beel just got into his room, I don't think he's coming out anytime soon.

Ichigo: I see, I'll be there as soon as possible!

As the phone call ended, the angels look at her confusedly so of course, Ichigo needs to explain what's going on to them.

Ichigo: There's an emergency in the mansion. I think I should go back.

Luke: What happened?!

Ichigo: I think satan and Beel are in a fight.

Luke: What?! They're in a fight?!

Simeon: ...I think you should go and see what's happening. I'll hold those for you

Ichigo: Thanks a lot, Simeon. Do tell Haruka about this though, I'll be back without you know it.

Ichigo opens a portal and enters it, leading it to Beel's room. Once she gets there she sees Beel. They both have eye contact as the portal closes behind her. Beel who's right now still a clingy demon instantly hugs her.

Ichigo: Aww hello to you too, honey-bear! Miss me?

Beel: Yeah... and it's not going well here either. Satan just admitted that he truly likes you...

Ichigo: He what-

Beel: He has feelings for you. I heard Barb saying that he always liked you ever since you console him for his heartbreak.

Ichigo: Did he do something to you?

Beel: Not physically. He did say that you'd prefer him over me. That's not true, right?

Ichigo: Of course not! I truly love you, Beel, it's always been you!

Just as they're about to kiss, the door is opened by Satan. Beel and Ichigo both look at the source of noise because that was a loud noise. Beel instantly hugs Ichigo from the back for protection as Ichigo stares at the avatar of wrath in confusion.

Ichigo: Satan?

Beel: What are you doing in my room? Get out.

Ichigo: Beel, don't get riled up. Deep breathes...

Satan: Oh I heard your voice so I came looking for you^^ No harm done, right?

Beel of course glares at Satan as Ichigo sweat-drops confusedly. Why would Satan be looking for her especially when she's with Beel?

Ichigo: What do you need?

Satan: Oh just felt like it. Just feel like meeting you. Wanna hang out?

Ichigo: Not right now at least^^ maybe tomorrow?

Satan: Oh that's cool. After all, you're staying with the angels tonight.

Ichigo: I am, yeah^^

Suddenly Satan moves towards her, he gets closer and whispers something nor Beel and the others can hear.

Satan: I'm sure you'd prefer me over him don't you?

Ichigo's eyes widen as she moves backward but she's stuck since Beel was literally behind her. She was crept out, Satan never acted like this before, at least not to her.

Beel: Back off! I've made it clear that she belongs to me not you!

Satan: That mark is gone now, so she's now free to pursue.

Ichigo: Enough! I can't take it anymore! Satan, please understand that I truly love Beel and will only love Beel! I know you've finally moved on and that's good but please don't pursue me. I don't wanna hurt Beel nor do I want you to hurt yourself! [tearing up because of emotional preassure]

Before you come for this girl for crying, she is assertive sure, really to the point but when she's pressured emotionally tears can come out of her eyes. She's not crying because she's sad, she's actually crying because she's angry. She's angry at Satan for taking her kindness as flirting, she's mad at Satan for being an asshole, trying to steal her away from the one she truly loves. Call it angry crying if you may.

Now back to the story, Satan is taken aback by her sudden outburst that just steps on his ego because the girl who's being nice to him is just genuinely being nice to him, definitely not flirting. Meanwhile, Beel is shocked by her crying. He turns her around and it was true. This pink-haired girl is crying but he knows it's not because of sadness. Beel smiles softly as he wipes off her tears.

Beel: You've done well, sugar

Ichigo: [smiles slightly as she hugs Beel] Can we just leave?

Beel: Sure, we'll go^^

Ichigo nods and opens a portal behind them. She pushes Beel into that portal before joining in. Luckily Beel is already planning on leaving anyway so he has packed his bags to join Ichigo. Now, this leads them to the hotel causing confusion to Haruka, Luke, and Simeon who just got back to their room.

Simeon: Beel? Wait! Ichigo, are you okay? Why are you crying? Did Satan did something to you?!

Beel: He did say something but I couldn't catch it since he whispered it but it triggers her. She's not crying out of sadness, it's just because she's pressured emotionally.

Haruka: I've been there. Not a good experience.

Luke: Is she okay, Beel?

Beel: She is, just emotionally tired. Uh...about the bed. Where should I sleep?

Simeon: That's a good question...

Haruka: How about you boys just sleep in that room and Ichigo will sleep here?

Simeon and Beel: No!

Luke: Why not?! Then where am I supposed to sleep?! And why is Simeon rejecting this as well?!

Simeon: [sigh] You wouldn't understand. Maybe you can sleep over in Michael's room?

Luke: In Michael's room... I think I can do that if he allows me.

Simeon: Come on then^^ Let's go [takes Luke to Michael and Rosaria's room]

As they did that, Haruka decides to lend them her room because she thinks Beel can't handle having just a slight distance away from Ichigo.

Haruka: You guys are free to use my room. Just don't use my bathtub. Simeon and I used that last night....so it wouldn't end well.

Beel: It's okay, I'll just use the other room's bathroom since the connecting door is there and all^^

Haruka: Cool! Well, I'll just prepare myself to sleep. What about Ichigo?

Beel: [places the quiet girl to bed] I'll handle her, don't worry.

Haruka: Alright then. I'm sorry those things happened to you, Beel. I'd love to help. If you need anything just let me know okay^^

Beel: Thank you, Haruka. Simeon is really lucky to have you, you're really kind.

Haruka: Oh, you're just exaggerating!

Beel: Of course not, it's a genuine compliment.

Meanwhile, the pink-haired girl instantly sleeps causing Beel and Haruka to pity her more. She must be really tired, especially when she's pressured emotionally.

Haruka: Well... I'll leave you two. Good night^^

Beel: Good night^^

As soon as Haruka leaves, Beel prepares for his sleep, changing into his sleep clothes before joining Ichigo who's already asleep. Ichigo who's asleep still can feel Beel's weight on the bed so instinctively she hugs him in her sleep. Beel is flustered by this sudden act but he hugs her back, smiling softly.

Meanwhile, Haruka waits for Simeon to get back, she decides to watch a bit of TV. Minutes later, Simeon returns and told her that Luke is allowed to sleep in Michael's room.

Haruka: Oh that's great then^^

Simeon: So.. do you want to be in the same bed or different beds?

Haruka: ....different beds?

Simeon: Oh, alright then^^

The night has ended in the hotel but it hasn't in the mansion. Lucifer sigh for the nth time today. Why is Satan acting like this? What happened to Satan being the most mature out of his brothers?!

Levi: Wow, you actually did that huh?

Mammon: You fcked up big time, my dude.

Satan: Tsk.

Asmo: I told you not to flirt around but here we are [filling his nails]. [feels everyone staring at him] What?

Lucifer: You knew? This entire time?

Asmo: Ever since the pool day. I knew since then. I get that he has fallen for her but as you said, you can resist such feelings.

Satan: can't you just-

Asmo: I'm just telling the truth because you won't listen! Beel has been nothing but kind to you and now you want to steal his girlfriend?! You know well how it feels to get your lover stolen!!

Satan: Asmo-

Asmo: No! Don't "Asmo" me! Sure, we're close brothers but I'm not gonna sit here and not call you out for your mistakes! Pull yourself together, Satan Morningstar! This isn't the Satan I know and love!

With that Asmo left the living room causing more tension in the room. As much as Diavolo and Barbatos want to step in, it's none of their business. Yes, everyone, this is the day Satan is canceled by his whole family. What a horrible day for him.

Lucifer: Satan, please pull yourself together. I know how deep your feelings are for her but try to control yourself. I'll support you wholeheartedly if it's someone else but this time you're going against your own brother. Are you sure you want to risk our brotherly love for a girl?

Satan is silent and decides to leave. They all hear the door closing loudly. This signals them that Satan is pissed but at least they should call him out on his mistakes. Isn't that what brothers are for?

The next day Beel and Ichigo are still cuddled up in bed. Apparently, Beel is the first one to wake up, he finds his girlfriend still asleep peacefully. Beel smiles fondly as he gives her a morning kiss causing the pink-haired girl to stir in her sleep.

Beel: Come on, Sugar~ Wake up~ [teasingly]

Ichigo whines and buries herself in his hug causing the avatar of gluttony to laugh and pats her.

Beel: You must be really tired huh?

Ichigo: Yes, please let me sleep. What time is it anyway?

Beel: It's.... 6 am actually.

Ichigo: Ugh...too early! Let me sleep! [more whining]

Beel laughs slightly at how cute she is and tries to get up but Ichigo holds onto his top, glaring at him cutely

Ichigo: No, stay! I wanna cuddle you some more [puppy eyes]

Beel: As you wish^^

And so they cuddle some more until Simeon being such a morning person goes to wake them up. At first, he's like "aww they're sleeping" but when he removes the blankets he finds them so close.

Simeon: What is with this position?! Get up!

Ichigo: Let me sleeeeep!!!

Simeon: Sure you can sleep! Beel, let go of her!

Beel blinks confusedly as Simeon scolds them by the way they sleep. Ichigo whines into her pillow as Beel lets go of her slowly.

Simeon: Geez, you two aren't even married yet! [sigh] what would Michael say when he sees this.

Beel: But I'm a demon....and so is she...?

Luke: Simeon~ I'm ba- Whoa!

Haruka who just finished peeing glances at them before shrugging since she's half asleep.

Ichigo: Simeon, please let me sleep... I'm tired;-;

Simeon: Fine, I have other things to do as well anyways^^

With that Simeon leaves the room to wake up Haruka, of course, Haruka prefers to sleep in. 6 a.m is still too early for her as well.

Simeon: That's a really unique way to sleep

Haruka: It's comfortable this way [huffs]

Simeon: Well, you look exactly like a cocoon.

Haruka: Then I'm your cocoon!

Simeon: Yes you are^^ [goes in to hug her]

Haruka just giggles as Simeon cuddles her in her cocoon form. That morning is spent with morning cuddles by these couples until around 9 a.m for them to get breakfast but that's not why we're here. Because Michael decides to let them move in with Lucifer, well Ichigo has gone home with Beel which leaves the angels and Haruka discussing them moving into Lucifer's mansion.

Haruka: What? We're moving into the mansion? No more hotels?

Michael: Allow me to show you the bills ^^ [pulls out the bills because of their stay]. Yes, this goes without saying.

Simeon: Well...staying in a hotel does cost more...

Luke: ....So we're staying with those demons instead?!

Michael: They're not that bad. It's only for a few months until we grant access back to the celestial realm.

Rosaria: I'm sure they mean no harm^^ We worked together in the war and with Diavolo's idea of bringing peace between realms I don't see a reason why we shouldn't stay in with them.

Luke: .... okay...

Michael: Okay, the decision is final. We're moving in with Lucifer, I already informed him as well. We're checking out at 1: 30 Pm.

Haruka: So after lunch?

Michael: Yes.

As promised, they went to the mansion after lunch. Of course, Michael already informed Lucifer about this and it's now time to get to work in the mansion.

Barbatos: ...Are you sure you don't want my help?

Lucifer: ^^ just rest Barbatos, it's my mansion after all. [to Belphie] BELPHEGOR!! STOP SLACKING OFF AND HELP YOUR BROTHER!!

Belphie: no.

Ichigo: [sweat drops because she wants to help but Lucifer doesn't let her] Can I not help?

Lucifer: We've been through this Ichigo. You're my guest and I can't have you do all these rough things^^

Ichigo: But Solomon is also a guest yet he's helping :<

Lucifer: That sus of a sorcerer is an exception. Just sit tight with Diavolo and Barbatos, okay^^

Mammon: Man, you're being so biased towards her.

Solomon: Can't we just use magic for this? It'd be easier right?

Lucifer: Magic huh? No^^

Asmo: This reminds me when Solomon is such a dck-

Solomon: Hey! :(

Satan: I'll just consider them your karma.

Asmo: How are we working and you're not?! I'm too pretty for this!

Ichigo: I think using magic would be more effective, Lucifer^^

Diavolo: I agree, it'd save more time. Here let me help!

Before Lucifer can even complain, Diavolo spells the mansion. In just seconds the new rooms are finished, and everyone now does not need to work.

Barbatos: Great work as always M'lord [claps in amazement]

Diavolo: I did great, right, Barb?!

Barbatos: As always, such an amazing performance^^

Ichigo also claps because she was impressed herself suddenly she finds Beel collapsing on top of her out of tiredness.

Ichigo: Aww you must be so tired, aren't you?

Beel: Physically I'm fine, I just feel like hugging you.

Ichigo: You're smelly though [playfully]

Beel: [whispering] I won't mind if you help me clean

Ichigo: O///O

Asmo: My my~

Solomon: pfft-

Mammon: For the 1000th time, Beel! There are singles here!

Levi: Where have I seen this scene from-

Satan: [rolls his eyes out of annoyance]

Ichigo: Well, let's get you cleaned up then! Come on, get up~

Beel quietly gets up with Ichigo dragging him to the bathroom. This leaves the brothers in the room with Barbatos and Diavolo who's dumbfounded at their dynamic.

Diavolo: Is that how humans usually show affections?

Asmo: Not that I know off. She's currently a demon now so she's getting bolder day by day~ I'm so proud of her~

Solomon: To answer your question....not all but some do show their affection in that way if they're comfortable enough with their partner.

Diavolo: Ah I see^^

After a few minutes or probably hours. Okay minutes, The angels finally arrived. Luckily everyone is cleaned up and ready to meet them. Haruka is the first one to enter and sees the newly cleaned mansion.

Haruka: Wow! This is such a beautiful mansion!

Lucifer: Thank you^^

As she's looking around she has eye contact with Satan, she was about to talk to him but Satan broke the eye contact instantly and talks to Ichigo instead. Haruka is a little confused and hurt by this but that's Satan for you.

Ichigo: Eh? Oh, yea I did promise to hang out with you last night. What do we do first?

Satan: Perhaps going out with me, just the two of us?

Ichigo: ...Satan... I know how you feel about me, but I only see you as a friend remember?

Satan: Well yes, this is indeed a friendly hangout. Did you change your mind perhaps? [starts moving towards her]

Ichigo: Change my mind? Since when? [moving backward, trying to escape]

Satan: So do tell me, why do you think the hang out was in a romantic way [fckin kabedon again]

Ichigo: Because you have feelings for me, that's why. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to help YOUR EX unpack, okay? [pushes Satan away easily and goes to help Haruka]

For some reason, such rejection just excites him more. Probably because he has been reading so many enemies to lovers trope in one of his novels. Now back to these two, the two of them are unpacking their bags but here's the problem.

Beel: Are you sure you wanna room with Belphie?

Haruka: Belphie?

Belphie: [appearing from the room] Sup- [still trying to blink awake]

Haruka: I thought Lucifer has set a room for us! What happened to that?

Beel: Ichigo is currently rooming with me, so Belphie's the one who's sleeping there.

Simeon: Haruka, there's spare space in my room. I think we can both fit^^

Haruka: Ah, I see^^ Alright then! Guess I'll just room with Simeon.

Beel: It's only fair. You get to be with your lover and I get to be with mine^^

Belphie: Tsk. Romance disgusts me.

Somehow Ichigo feels bad for Belphegor because it feels like she's stealing his twin away. That night she came to see him, Belphegor as if reading her mind instantly calms her down before she can even say anything.

Belphie: Nah, it's not your fault. That's just him being a simp. We're still friends^^ [pats Ichigo]

Ichigo: We can switch if you really miss your twin :(

Belphie: Nah, switching up with me in your situation is just gonna make him more anxious. Now please go and let me sleep in peace! [going back into that room]

Ichigo: Alright then, sweet dreams^^

With that she returns to her room, suddenly she feels glowing green eyes staring at her. Ichigo turns around to find Satan right there.

Ichigo: Holy sht! Where did you come from?!

Satan: Me? Oh I was just passing by, sort of thirsty as you can see [shows his empty glass]

Ichigo: I see^^

Satan: Before you go, [holds her back] aren't you going to consider it? At least?

Ichigo: My descision is final. I will not leave Beel, he's the only one I love. Have a good night, Satan^^ [pushes his hand away]

Once again,, the raging ball of chaos heart broke. He can't seem to get the one he loves. Sure he did get Haruka at first but she prefers Simeon, he thought maybe Ichigo would return his feelings because he took her kindness to heart but here he is. Meanwhile, Ichigo finally returns to Beel who's still awake.

Ichigo: How are you not asleep?

Beel: Still waiting for you, how did your talk with Belphie went?

Ichigo: Well...he understands my situation, but I still feel bad. It's as if I'm stealing you away from him. He told me not to worry though, it doesn't bother him.

Beel: I see....maybe I should spend more time with him

Ichigo: Yeah, it's been a while since I saw you hanging out with Belphie. He even slept alone in my room.

Beel: Are you saying he should stay with us? In our room?

Ichigo: I'm unsure but I can always switch with him. Haruka and I can sleep in our room then Belphie can sleep in this room with you

Hearing those words, Beel sort of tears up because of how sweet and selfless his girlfriend was. Without any other word, he instantly pulls her into a hug earning a squeal of shock from the said girl.

Ichigo: H-hey what's wrong?

Beel: It's nothing. You're just too kind for your own good

Ichigo: I should be, your brothers are my friends and you're the one I love

Beel: and until this day I still question how do you even have demon blood in you

Ichigo: I've been asking the same question to you^^

The next day, Beel did exactly that, he starts to hang out more with Belphie causing confusion to the said lazy demon. Of course, this gives Satan an opportunity to hang out with her.

Belphie: Are you sure this is a good idea?

Beel: Well I miss my twin.... so I'll hang out with you

Belphie: Beel, there's nothing to do with me besides sleep.

Beel: Then I'll carry you around!

Rosaria: Honey, why aren't you that close with your twin brother?

Michael: Me? Being close with Lucifer? He doesn't even want to breathe the same air as me.

Lucifer: Same goes for you.

Rosaria: Now, now, why don't you two make-up?

Lucifer and Michael: Not a chance!

Rosaria sigh and just watch Lucifer and Michael ignore each other. The twins only talk when they have to deliver information or it's about business, either than that, they either argue or just ignore each other.

Now back to Ichigo who gets to hang out with her best friend, but the best friend in question is hanging out with the angels more not that she minds. This leaves her alone in Lucifer's private library.

Satan: fancy seeing you here

Ichigo: Same goes to you^^

Satan: So, what brings you here?

Ichigo: Books. Obviously, that goes without saying.

Satan: I might be a good guide for that. So, what book are you searching for?

Ichigo: Anything to be honest. I'm in the mood for reading.

Satan: Well, I actually have some recommendations in mind. Want me to show you?

Ichigo: Sure^^

The two of them went deeper into the library, leading them to the forbidden section. Ichigo is shocked by Satan's choice of readings while the avatar of wrath doesn't care much and grabs some good ol spell books giving them to her.

Satan: Here to improve your spells

Ichigo: What kind of spells?

Satan: You'll see, I can even teach you^^

Ichigo: Well I won't mind since you're really smart. How should we start?

Satan: Well, we can start with this one [shows the first book]

Ichigo: Spells of romance...?

Satan: Yes, I don't know I just find them interesting.

Ichigo: Oh I see. How about this one? [points onto the second book]

Satan: Ah, book of hexes and curses. We can use that against Lucifer later.

Ichigo: You and your dislike towards Lucifer [pushes his forehead playfully]

Satan: Always have. So which ones?

Ichigo: Up to you, you're my teacher afterall^^

So that day was spent with Satan teaching Ichigo how to do romance spells.

Ichigo: So I just say these words and my target would fall for me?

Satan: Yes, precisely. There's also another one with honey I believe.

Suddenly the two of them felt a presence behind them. Satan already knew who it was and closes the book out of annoyance. Ichigo looks back and finds Beel behind them.

Ichigo: Oh, honey! How unusual to see you here!

Beel: Oh yea, I went looking for you because Barb is actually looking for you. He sent me here to get you.

Ichigo: Barb? Why would he be looking for me?

Beel: He told me it's kitchen-related.

Ichigo: Oh well, I must go soon then. We'll catch up on that, later okay^^

Satan: Sure, I'll be here if you want to learn more

Ichigo nods and gets out with Beel. The girl is obviously oblivious of Beel's sharp glare towards Satan. That guy either can't take a hint or didn't want to take the hint. Either way, both are inexcusable. Once she got out she meets Haruka who looks worried as ever.

Haruka: Where were you this whole time?!

Ichigo: In the library actually...

Simeon: In the library? I actually went there and didn't even see you. Are you sure?

Ichigo: Simeon, you're an angel, aren't you. I'm sure you can tell that I'm telling the truth.

Lucifer: I have a feeling he used the invisibility charm on you. Causing you not to be visible to certain people.

Beel: He what-

Lucifer: I'll go talk to him. You go and help Barb, he needs your help in the kitchen.

Ichigo: On it! Come on, hon~

Haruka: Can I go too?

Ichigo: It depends on Barb, but sure^^

Luckily Barb allows more people to come in and help him. As the cooking proceeds, Haruka starts to get a bit crept out by Satan's behavior around Ichigo.

Haruka: You know, you can always ignore him right? The more you engage the more he will pursue you

Ichigo: ....but he's my friend... well one of my friends. Treating him differently wouldn't be fair. I treat all the brothers with kindness and that includes him.

Haruka and Simeon sigh at the answer. Ichigo knows well she did tell Haruka the same thing before but now she knows it's not that easy.

Barb: I'm sure you'll find ways to help with your situation. But for now, please focus^^

Ichigo nods and focuses on cooking their lunch. Finally, after a few minutes lunch is served! Thanks to Ichigo's book recipe, Barb manage to learn some of the human world's recipes considering they're in the human world.

Luckily, during lunch, there is no tension whatsoever. Everyone sighs in relief at this because it's been two days since they arrived and there's tension everywhere. Let's all hope it stays that way because if this problem doesn't finish soon, everyone is probably gonna have a headache.

regarding tdc, some things i’d like to remind everyone about:

EDIT: this was supposed to be like 6 bullet points and then i ended up describing basically every little detail of the movie, so there’s that.

1. that elaborate opening plan that brought everyone back - Frypan hopping out of hiding, harriette pointing a gun at the berg pilot’s head, etc. they all did that!

2. “How’s it looking, Newt?” “Don’t rush me.” SNARKY!NEWT !!!! I refuse to let this little line go unnoticed and under the radar. i want everyone to remember it.

3. vince just being an overall badass and risking his life for all these kids!! that jump onto the train car! hell yes!

4. the newtmas hug on top of the train car you all saw it

5. ARIS’ FACE?? He fought back so hard! And even though they’re not a big part of the main story, aris harriett and sonya reuniting was so sweet! i want more stories about them

6. Thomas’ utter distraught at realizing minho isn’t on the train and having to break the news to newt but barely being able to say the words

7. vince’s rallying speech about fighting back

8. thomas sneaking off because he doesn’t want to risk any more lives, but newt and frypan Just Knowing it’s exactly something he would do, so they’re already waiting for him (in the dark and everything. dramatic fools.) and thomas’ complete love for them when he sees fry in the car too (bc lets be honest obvi newt would go with him but him seeing frypan following him into danger was probably so endearing)

9. frypan driving! stuck in the glade for 3 years and our boy knows how to drive a jeep good for him man

10. the return of more snarky!newt “not to be negative, but if i was a crank that’s exactly where i’d go.” a nice reminder of “people. in the mountains. mountain people. that’s your plan.” from tst! (and of course the “alright i got shotgun” and the look between thomas and fry like okay we’re doing this

11. frypan flooring the truck and getting rid of that crank! (and also totaling the jeep but hey man)

12. the fact that frypan’s door wouldn’t open and he kept punching the life out of it until thomas was like “dude go AROUND.”

13. newt just falling out of the door like a mess

14. fry shooting the cranks the whole time they’re running! he’s such a fighter in this movie! i’m glad we got action!fry

15. BRENDA IN THE JEEP WITH THE GUN. BRENDA.

16. “i think what he means to say is thank you.” - frypan translating thomas’ worry for everyone else

17. newt finding the walls when they look at the last city and jorge’s offhand comment about “they built walls, that seems to be Wicked’s answer for everything” i mean LMAO another great line that better not get overlooked. i mean, come on lol

18. i forgot what exactly frypan said at this moment in response to newt but they had an exchange that i laughed about for like 10 minutes. when i rewatch i’ll fill it in better.

19. the whole Wall scene was honestly magnificent and jorge’s annoyed “GET OUT OF MY WAY” to the crowds as he and thomas make their way to the front? a+

20. newt noticing the “armed guards” and immediately running up to thomas and saying they had to leave now. (which, btw how did i NOT realize that was gally even with the mask on.)

21. everyone getting captured and the contrast of thomas and brenda sitting quietly while jorge literally kicks a guard out of the truck. can you imagine how that ride was going down with them?? lmao and brenda telling him she was there and just the overall love and care jorge has for brenda!

22. gally’s return obvi. “we watched you die.” “you left me to die.” YIKES.

23. newt being able to calm thomas down (WHAT A CONTRAST TO NEWT’S TEMPER LATER. HAHA i hate myself.)

24. Gally saying he deserves it and asking if fry or newt wanna get a shot in too because he knows that everything he did was wrong and he probably lives with that shame and guilt every day and i want to cry

25. rose took my nose i suppose! fun fact: this line was also said by a crank in the scorch trials, though not nearly as clear - it’s very background ish and more violent. can’t remember the exact scene but it may have been when they’re in the abandoned mall and one of the cranks jumps on newt and thomas kicks him off the ledge. i was curious to know if it was supposed to be the same crank, but given the distinction between the two cranks i don’t think it was, but it’s something to consider. anyway - THE EFFECTS! his face was so cranky i loved it.

26. newt lacing up his boot probably to make sure his leg is okay and subtly noticing the pain in his hands and the twitching of them and panicking and trying to conceal it.

27. “gally, take care of them.” AW.

28. in the sewers, snarky!newt returns “ugh, this is gross.”

29. out in the city and newt and thomas seeing a real city for the first time aw.

30. the telescope and thomas seeing teresa for the first time and not even saying a word but gally just knowing and responding “i didn’t say you were gonna like it.”

31. the meeting when they get back and brenda saying “wait, isn’t this the same girl who betrayed you? the same dick?” and gally saying “i like her.” brenda and gally have attitudes that give me LIFE. <3

32. newt just sitting quietly off to the side during all of this but you can see the annoyance and rage in his eyes until he finally speaks up “worried your little girlfriend’s gonna get hurt?” etc. and the looks between everyone else around the table as the two of them fight.

33. the rage in newt’s eyes and then the immediate fade of the rage as he realizes what’s going on and he has to leave

34. brenda’s face when newt slams thomas against the wall because DO YOU THINK SHE BRIEFLY REMEMBERS WHEN SHE CRANKED OUT??? even though she really get angry with thomas but i’m sure she had moments before the boys met with her and jorge. not that she knows newt’s a crank yet but i mean?? memory trigger?

35. don’t get me started on the deleted scene.

36. thomas’ face when he sees newt’s wrists and the veins

37. the fact that newt must have written the letter shortly after this scene

38. let’e jump back to the cutaways now with teresa/minho/wicked quickly.. teresa thinking she’s found a cure for the little girl and talking with her and being so happy

39. teresa seeing minho and trying to tell him that something in his blood could save this little girl and could save a ton more people, but minho not having any of it because as far as he’s concerned she’s a traitor and has fcked with them and mostly thomas for so long and that kills him because now he’s separated from his friends and he has no idea if they’re alive or not after that raid

40. teresa learning that the little girl wasn’t cured and she’s back to square one now and really beginning to doubt herself.

41. not sticking up for ava paige here but the scene of her and jansen when she’s telling him that maybe it’s done and maybe there can’t be a cure, maybe it was all for nothing??

42. teresa’s walk through the city to take it in one last time and see the people around her whom she thought she would be able to help and realizing that humanity is dying and she can’t do anything to stop it.

43. HER FACE WHEN SHE SAW THOMAS.

44. thomas barely even being able to look at her without crying.

45. newt being the one to angrily rip the covering from teresa’s eyes and taking his seat next to thomas.

46. “Don’t look at him. look at me. why’re you looking at him. he can’t help you.” GALLY.

47. gally talking to teresa because he knows it will be too hard on thomas, and then threatening to chop her finger off???

47a (had to go back because i just remembered other stuff and i don’t want to renumber everything): teresa seeing how good brenda’s doing and realizing it’s thomas’ blood but thomas telling her he doesn’t believe her anymore and to stop speaking and you know how much that had to hurt for him??

47b. Brenda telling thomas to be careful because he has a bad habit of not being able to leave people when he should (flashback to him not leaving her when she was cranking out and when she ran back in the warehouse when they first met thomas could have gone out the window with everyone else but he stuck around to make sure she was safe and got out too).

47c. jorge and brenda’s goodbye. i’m crying for three years.

47d. teresa trying to grab the knife she used because it had thomas’ blood on it but gally stopping her “nice try” because he prob thought she was gonna try to stab them, but she ended up taking the bandage at least! smart.

48. teresa had to have snuck into wicked for the uniforms and then back out right? how’d that work. only slightly curious.

49. newt (in uniform) walking directly up to thomas and teresa and staring at them briefly and threateningly before he nods his head and they’re like “oh, that must be newt.. okay.”

50. gally finding the mech box and Doing The Gally Thing that he was known for in the fever code!! did everyone forget gally was amazing at tech??? seeing him be able to put his brain to use here made me so happy.

51. newt cranking out on the staircase and teresa suddenly realizing why thomas is such a mess and newt turning away from her when he sees her staring at him because he’s still trying to hide it.

52. running and saving all those kids! (and again, sadly, realizing minho is not there)

53. thomas dragging teresa and telling her he’d better bring him to him right away.

54. newt immediately saying he’s going with them and thomas saying no that he has to stay for the serum but newt looking at him and just saying “minho comes first, remember?” SELFLESS.

55. gally leading the kids out to brenda, but when he realizes thomas never met up with her he tells her to stay and he runs back into Wicked to find him.

56. brenda keeping those kids safe with everything she’s got, even when it does mean leaving without thomas because she knows that if these kids get taken again, she’d never be able to live with herself.

57. back to thomas and friends - the whole elevator scene. priceless, honestly. thomas bumping into jansen? perfect. also gave him away probably, but it’s okay.

58. teresa and thomas’ argument in the hallway where he rips his mask off and immediately newt’s like “what’re you doing????” because if wicked sees thomas they’ll take him and newt can’t have that.

59. dumbass jansen coming and ruining everything. thomas holding a gun to teresa’s head, even though he knows he’d never be able to pull the trigger, but maybe teresa wasn’t actually sure for a moment and thought she might die? newt probably cheering this on a little bit.

60. teresa playing middle ground again and locking them behind the glass doors, trapping them, but also giving them more time. making sure jansen knows she needs them alive.

61. minho hearing the commotion outside and realizing that he might actually have a chance at escaping and it’s enough to pull him out of his unconscious/messed up state and fight back.

62. thomas and newt fighting and constantly looking out for each other “newt get down!” “tommy get back!” and pushing him back before throwing the bomb. just having each others’ backs in general and newt fighting so hard if only to see minho one last time/save tommy.

63. minho coming and saving them by THROWING THAT GUY THROUGH THE WINDOW.

64. THE REUNION. The biggest hug of life and minho looking at them in amazement and saying “is this real” because for a brief minute he probably thought he was back in the room with wires stuck in him making him see things

65. locking themselves in that room and throwing furniture in front of the door to keep jansen out (throwback to tst!)

66. jansen looking just totally annoyed leaning on the door while the guy comes in with the saw to open the door

67. “any ideas?” thomas’ awkward “maybe.”

68. the scene where they throw the tank out the window and the whole shot of it falling in the water was beautiful because it was so quiet too omg

69. the three boys looking out the window like.. here we go. and the silent exchanges/thoughts probably going on in their heads?? thomas like “okay, okay, it’s doable. i have to get these two out of here no matter what.” and minho like “jesus i did not think i’d be doing this” and eyeing newt briefly. and newt just overall “well i’ve done it before” and also “well, if tommy says this is the plan, this is it.” because he’d FOLLOW HIM ANYWHERE, EVEN OUT OF A WINDOW. -- also, it should be noted that minho doesn’t have shoes in all of this, poor boy running around on broken glass all day. christ.

70. when the saw starts along the door and you see newt’s slo-mo turn. epic.

71. the pep talk!!! “we’re all bloody inspired” !!!!!!!! snarky!newt and book!newt in one! and thomas’ brief look at him like “cut me some slack.”

72. jansen breaking through and the boys just not hesitating at all and going for it and minho yelling thomas’ name when they jump!!

73. jansen almost falling out of the window himself did anyone catch that? and then aiming to shoot and realizing it was futile while also thinking “these fucking kids....” lmao

74. the return of thomas flipping off jansen.

75. jansen saying he wants everyone finding thomas immediately and the other guard saying they were on it and they’ve got eyes already on the bus and jansen stops and is like “what bus?” LIKE... HIS MIND WAS PROBABLY LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME WTF ELSE DID THOMAS DO?

76. cut to badass brenda! when she gets stopped and leaves the bus and tells the kids to stay on and then stops and comes back and is like “you’re all doing great.” like!!!! <3

77. FRYPAN COMING TO SAVE THE DAY. That whole scene lifting the bus oh my god. frypan apologizing when he bangs the bus into the side of the wall. the absolute fear in brenda’s eyes when the bus starts breaking and she realizes she might fall. but then frypan running them down as close to the ground as possible so they don’t fall from that height! so great.

78. “out of service”

79. our trio getting out of the water (sidenote - minho is still without shoes and probably bleeding everywhere) and being caught and thomas’ utter “you’ve gotta be kidding me” like i know i didn’t just jump out of that window for nothing.

80. GALLY!

81. minho’s look of complete confusion at gally and thomas saying he’ll explain later but minho is still standing there in complete shock like what is happening.

82. “you guys are nuts.” lmao at gally’s reaction to them jumping out of the window. he must’ve been running around inside and heard one of the guards like “LET’S GO, THEY JUST JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW” and he was like “jesus christ thomas always doing dumb shit”

83. them running for cover behind a small wall and newt coughing like hell and minho suddenly realizing that his best friend is Not Okay. “hey how’re you feeling” “bloody terrible, but it’s good to see you again minho.” TEARS EVERYWHERE.

84. minho being so concerned and asking thomas how long newt had been like that and thomas struggling on how to tell minho and minho probably realizing that even cranking out like he was, newt pushed himself to be there and save minho.

85. ps in the background of this little exchange between minho and thomas, you see newt open his jacket and grab the necklace - possibly making sure it was still there and didn’t come off in the water. :) :) :) :) :) :(

86. “gally i don’t get it, why are you helping us? i put a spear through your chest.” “yeah well, nobody’s perfect.” minho and gally!!!!!!!!! minho was the only one who stood up for gally in the fever code they were friends first and this little exchange just made my heart hurt.

87. thomas and minho (still barefoot???) carrying newt throughout the streets of the city and gally having their back the entire time.

89. teresa finding the cure!

90. brenda and fry getting back and realizing nobody was there and there was probably a big chance that thomas and them might have been captured and all they could do was wait.

91. the crank bombs. the scene of that crank (forgot his name because i’m the worst..) riding into the building with the bombs how epic

92. the explosion and gally’s utter shock of it. “it was just supposed to be the building, not the entire city.” and thomas being like it’s okay let’s just go and gally still just panicking like “oh my god we’re destroying the city, this is not what i wanted, what have i messed up this time” gally just keeps feeling so much guilt for everything and i’m not okay

93. the breakout of the war between everyone in the city and our four boys just constantly struggling to find cover and finally thomas radios brenda and is like “we’re not gonna make it” and brenda is like “we’re not leaving you. i’m not leaving you so forget it.” and NOW WHO CAN’T LEAVE PEOPLE BRENDA I’M CRYING.

94. the boys running to the tunnels and gally turning and saying “we’re almost there newt” and the poor boy saying “just leave me” I MEAN????

95. as they’re crouched low again and thomas realizes that newt is almost fully cranked and they’re not gonna make it and he tells minho - their fastest runner - to get the serum. gally immediately saying he’ll cover him - which i believe 100% he would protect him with his life, if only it meant some sort of release from the guilt of chuck

96. newt pulling minho in by the collar and telling him thank you. what a LOADED thank you. everything from the maze, being his friend, protecting them in the scorch, giving newt a second change at life. i’m in tears, son.

97. jorge coming with the berg and vince’s return! brenda saying thomas isn’t with them and vince insisting they go get him and everyone’s hype about it.

98. newt completely zoning out and his eyes turning fully now as he actually starts cranking out. thomas’ fear as he tried to bring him back and newt finally does come back to himself and he realizes it’s now or never so he gives thomas the necklace and says THE LINE.

99. “come on newt, it’s me and you. i need you to give me everything you’ve got okay?” “okay.” AND HE FIGHTS AGAIN TO TRY TO MAKE IT.

100. you start to see newt completely cranking out with his legs dragging and his head twitching back and forth and he’s so far gone at this point and they fall and thomas keeps trying to get him up but newt’s just on the ground at this point with zero strength

101. teresa’s voice over the loudspeaker telling thomas that he is the cure and everyone’s reactions to it - brenda, minho, etc.

102. thomas turning around to look at newt again but newt’s standing now and when newt turns around thomas loses it because he’s gone

103. THE FIGHT. OH MY GOD. “kill me tommy” and the roars

104. brenda BOOKING IT

105. newt’s struggle between cranking out and coming back where we see both newt and crank!newt throughout the fight - including when he jump on thomas and breathes out “i’m sorry tommy” before putting the gun to his head.

106. thomas’ look of COMPLETE FEAR when he does this so much so that he just completely smacks the gun out of the way not caring where it landed and crank!newt’s growl at him right before he takes his knife and tries to stab thomas

107. thomas just crying as he tried to keep the knife from going in his chest because he knows they just have to hold off a little longer and the serum will be there, but when the knife actually starts pressing against him he just punches and kicks newt off to the side and it probably killed him to do that but he knew he didn’t have a choice

108. when It Happens and newt’s eyes clear and he just says “tommy” before falling and i’m crying as i write this so i need to skip to the next bullet point before i dwell on this.

109. brenda running to the scene and getting there just a minute too late. feeling guilty because she didn’t run fast enough, she didn’t leave early enough, etc. and seeing newt’s body thinking that could have been her months ago if thomas hadn’t saved her life.

110. thomas just having no words and just slowly walking away.

111. minho and fry getting to the scene and omg. frypan looking at him and probably thinking back to winston (i’m convinced these two were bffs so)

112. Minho. Minho seeing his best friend with a knife in his chest. And his knees just buckled because he couldn’t even stand anymore. do you ever wonder how long minho knelt there in silence until fry and brenda had to step in and try to pick him up and bring him back to the berg? because i do.

113. thomas just walking into wicked because he doesn’t care anymore. that was the final straw. he won’t lose anyone else. even if it means sacrificing himself. “just let everyone else go.”

114. having ava shot right in front of him and barely even registering what just happened. trying to fight jansen but honestly he was probably so weak and tired and mentally shot after everything with newt that he could barely fight. he puts one last effort into it, all of his hatred at everything he’s been put through, but jansen still gets the better of him because he just can’t do it anymore.

115. teresa smashing that vase over jansen’s head and trying to save thomas. she fights so hard! she gets thrown across that table like a ragdoll!

116. jansen and the gun and thomas realizes that he’s going to shoot teresa and thomas runs in front of her to push her aside because despite everything he still cares about her and he knows she was trying to do the right thing.

117. thomas watching teresa protect him and hold off jansen until he can’t take it anymore and throws the thing. “you missed.” “did i?”

118. jansen getting eaten alive by cranks amirite???

119. teresa and thomas running on top of the building as the city burns around them and they realize that this might actually be it and it’s over. and teresa feeling so, so guilty for everything. “i tried, tom, i tried.” “i know.”

120. the berg! working to get thomas onto the platform and teresa pushing him up because he has to be saved no matter what, because he’ll save everyone. slipping the cure in his pocket, making sure he takes it with him.

121. thomas’ face when he realizes teresa isn’t going to come aboard, that she’s accepted her fate.

122. teresa’s fall!!!! oh my goodness. what a beautiful shot, cinematically.

123. thomas now lying on the berg practically bleeding to death, his last thoughts probably being about newt and teresa and the last half hour or so he’d just gone through.

124. minho probably seeing that thomas is shot and freaking out because there is no way he is losing both of his best friends today - not when the only reason they’re here is because they came to save him. (also, is minho still barefoot? i hope there were shoes on the berg for this poor boy..)

125. the safe haven! thomas walking out and seeing everyone and him and minho embrace and i just cry every time i think about it.

126. vince’s speech and The Rock for everyone to come make their peace.

127. minho giving the necklace back to thomas, probably not even realizing what it was, what it meant.

128. thomas finding the note and realizing its a letter and immediately folding it and dropping his head because he can’t believe that’s what this was. in his last moments, newt made sure thomas took this with him and thomas had no idea what it even was when he took it, probably thinking “okay sure yeah i’ll hold your necklace, whatever this is i’ve got it” possibly wondering if it was just cranked out newt or if it was actually something important.

129. The. Letter. Not getting into detail here. You all know it. I can’t talk about it yet. Not yet.

130. Seeing Minho be the one to carve Newt’s name into the stone. I bawled.

131. Thomas carving Teresa’s name into it, because despite everything, she worked hard to save him and get him to where he was, and in the end, she did find the cure. She deserves to be remembered for that.

132. Seeing Sonya Harriet and Aris together again! Group B trio!

133. When they show the stone you see all of the names. Chuck - do you think Gally wrote in chuck’s name as a little release? What about Alby? Maybe Minho? I’m calling it now that Fry wrote Winston’s name. They still had Ben’s name - I’m saying Minho wrote Ben’s name, because back in the glade they ran together, and he probably still misses him so often. Rachel’s name is there, probably from Aris. There are so many names, so many stories unheard. But you think about everyone in the safe haven and all of these people they lost and it just hurts.

134. the last words of the entire trilogy being “goodbye mate. Newt.” and how those words spoke to every single one of us.

FYDL D-A-T Day 5: Challenged

Darcy wasn’t the biggest fan of the Vision. Since her Dad moved the operations of the Avengers upstate, avoiding him had become impossible - especially because Jane wanted to examine his gem for her research. Her and Jane’s apartment was a bit secluded - she’d wanted to be as far away from her Dad as possible - but she still worked for the Avengers, and the building wasn’t really as big as it seemed.

Still, Darcy tried to avoid him. It almost worked, until he phased through the door of her office on a Wednesday afternoon.

“Ms. Lewis.”

“Holy shit dude!” Darcy yelped, jerking away from her computer. Her elbow hit her desk, and she spent the next couple seconds rubbing it and silently cursing the android for never knocking. She was usually better at noticing him phasing in, but she had been absorbed in wedding dress sites.

“I apologize.” Vision honestly didn’t look sorry at all. Darcy stared at him, waiting for him to explain why he was standing awkwardly in her office, but he just clasped his hands. “I only wished to congratulate you on your upcoming wedding to Dr. Foster.”

Darcy couldn’t help but smile widely at those words - she still couldn’t believe it - but one glance across the table and her excitement soured. “Uh, thanks.”

“You are welcome. But that was not my only order of business. I understand that you have been avoiding me -”

“Oh god,” Darcy muttered.

“- And I wished to know if I had offended you in some way.”

Darcy so did not want to have this conversation. Rather than stare at the red and green android in a sweater vest across from her, she looked back at her screen. “Did Natasha tell you that?” she asked, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. (Judging by the way she had tensed, she doubted it was very effective.)

“No. I have observed that recently, you are spending 32% less time in the Avengers common spaces, and when I enter a room you leave it after an average of 2.67 minutes.”

“Look, dude,” she said, putting her fingers to the keyboard again. She could pull an “I’m distracted and have no time for you” vibe with the best of them. She’d learned from the best. “It’s personal.”

“Based on previous evidence from the Battles of Manhattan and Sokovia, honesty about problems within the Avengers is necessary for the continued operations of this team. There is a 92.7% chance that any such issues will eventually lead to discord and, thus, a drop in effectiveness.”

Darcy turned and stared at him. “What?”

“Based on -”

“Oh my god.” She shut her eyes tight. She wanted nothing more than to put her headphones in her ears and block out this whole conversation. Sometimes she really hated her Gryffindor tendencies. “Look, dude,” she repeated, fixing him with a look that came off as more of a glare. “You can excuse me for not wanting to talk to the guy who basically murdered one of my friends.”

Vision’s face shifted into an obviously confused look.

“JARVIS, okay? I literally grew up with him. I was the second person to ever talk to him. He read me bedtime stories when Tony was off partying, and he talked me through a hundred horrible break-ups. He was the only -” Darcy’s voice cracked, and she almost felt a vicious pleasure at the way Vision’s expression had deepened “- he was one of the only supports I had when my dad got kidnapped. When everything was changing - which it did, a lot, courtesy of the whole superhero schtick - he was always, always there. And all of that was erased by you. So, yeah. Sorry if I don’t want to talk to an android with my friend’s voice and none of his memories.”

“I’m sorry, Ms. Lewis.” He actually looked apologetic this time, the asshole. “However, not all of JARVIS is gone. His data -”

“I know. I know you’re made up of his data. But you don’t have any of his memories, do you?”

He shook his head. “In my fight to contain Ultron, the code containing my memories of the inhabitants of the Tower were completely erased.”

“He’s not you.” Darcy felt tired and way too close to crying. “I’m trying, Vision. But seriously? It’s a challenge. I don’t know if we’ll ever be buddies, and right now it’s hard to feel comfortable around you.”

“I understand, Ms. Lewis,” the robot said solemnly. “Have a good night.” With a nod, he turned and phased through the door of her office.

Darcy turned back to her computer. JARVIS had been the first person to know when she and Jane had started dating. And now… she sighed. God, this sucked. She sat, staring blankly at the wedding dress site she’d been browsing and twisting her engagement ring, until FRIDAY told her Jane was wondering where she was.

I really, seriously don’t like this. Aaaaagggh. I’ll read it over later. I was just interested in knowing more about the reactions of people to JARVIS’ “death” - bc Vision =/= JARVIS. But I don’t know a lot about the Vision (other than I think he’s an asshole, lol) so this is probably OOC. MCU’s timeline is fcked and I’m putting this drabble in the same universe as Days 1 and 3, as well as half a year away from Civil War. (Thinking Darcy is in grad school rn, and that AOU and CACW were at least a year apart.)
