#will never ever stop telling everyone the story of how i was introduced to his music #i was in high school and our choir was invited to well...a choral concert where we could book discounted tix #i went for this particular choral ensemble's big concert every yr #one year. they sang ola gjeilo's 'northern lights' #my 14 yr old self got goosebumps and chills and shivers all through that performance!!! #i held my breath through it!!! #counted the number of quarter notes the altos held a single note for right at the end (46 iirc?) #mouth agape eyes unblinking and a soft ache in my chest #very precious memory #northern lights is one of my absolute fave pieces of music and i have never ever skipped it when it comes on #i keep looking for more and more and newer and newer performances of that piece #lol the link here does not in fact go to northern lights #but it's an absolutely lovely composition all the same 💖💖💖 #Spotify
